Sorry for the late report, I'm trying to get over the Jet-lag from ASU.

First of all, I want to thank Dickhead, Mr. Kuyamandla, Lexton and all the others who answered my questions and gave me direction in ASU. Your help really was appreciated and really helped me!

The very first thing I did was to go to the Paraguayan Embassy in L. A. (Los Angeles, California, USA) to get a visa.

It cost $160.00 USD and was good for the life of my Passport. Otherwise I think the visa purchased at the ASU airport was good for only a short time.

Second, I RTFF and had asked questions to the members who had been to ASU beforehand. Taxi and bus cost from ASU to town? Where to wait for the taxi and bus at ASU? How much for taxi and bus? What to bring? Weather? Etc.

Third, I read Ken Apples "Guide to ASU for Newbies. " Mr. Apples guide was very interesting and informative.

Especially the suggestion on personal "Cleanliness. " He recommended hand washing all the time to avoid illness as ASU is quite dirty to put it lightly. I brought with me liquid soap, bar soap, antibacterial lotion and Lysol Spray (disinfectant spray) so I was well prepared.

Taking the bus to and from the ASU airport was like going back in time. The bus was like 100 years old! (It should have been junked 50 years ago!) The roads were extremely bad and were filled with potholes and cracks. The ride was very bumpy. And the driver was crazy as he was going very fast over the bad roads trying to make his time schedule. I held on to dear life! Taking the bus is not for everyone. If you cannot lift your suitcase (mine was 52 lbs.) with a small backpack (school book size) up to the bus and hang on while you are almost hitting the roof due to the bumpy ride do not take the bus. The bus ride was 2,400 GPY. The taxi was 88,000 PYG so I did well going both ways. One member suggested that renting a car was the best mode of transportation but the whole city was like a L. A. Traffic jam on a Friday at 5:00 PM and the people drive like maniacs, so no, no rental car for me.

But most of all the Paraguayan people were so very nice to me! I would ask for directions or where is a good place to eat and everyone responded kindly. Very nice people! My objective was to find the same GFE that I would get from the Paraguayan ladies I would meet every year in EZE (Buenos Aires, Argentina). On my visits to EZE I would meet beautiful and extremely nice women from Paraguay and I wanted to meet them at their source in Paraguay.

The flight from LAX was 3 flights. Wow, it was very long, difficult and tiring. I it was over 24 hours. I could have taken a shorter route on another airline but I need the airline miles for free flights which I accumulate for other trips. I don't really drink much and I don't go to Discos so my only objective was to find the GFE I had with the Paraguayan ladies I always see in EZE.

So I had taken the bus #30 from ASU to town and got off at the Shopping del Sol which was in front of my hotel. By the time I got cleaned up it was getting dark so I took a taxi to Parada 838 (Itubre 838) which cost 42,500 PYG ($10.12 USD). It was about 18:00 and I must have hit the 3rd Stringers as all the ladies were not very young and over-weight. The best one there was Analia and although not my type I went with her. Analia was all business and everything was covered. I will not repeat with Analia. The place was not clean, there was no light switch on the wall and Analia could not find the switch on the lamp so she had to get a flashlight to turn on the lights. I think they change the sheets once a week. I did not return to Parada 838. I took the bus #30 back to the hotel. To save money, I bought breakfast cereal, milk and fruit at the supermarket across at the Shopping Del Sol mall and had dinner at the food court. Damn! The US Dollar had lost about 5% in the past few days: from 4400 PYG down to 4200 PGY so things just got more expensive for us Gringos!

The following day I took the bus to Deseos (14 de Mayo 1008) which was in a yellow building with blue trim and door. There were 5 ladies and I picked Ingrid. Ingrid was OK, not GFE. Everything was covered. I will not repeat with Ingrid. The next day I returned to Deseos and picked Nalia. Nalia was nice but not GFE. She was completo and covered. I will not repeat with Nalia. The next day I went with Camile. Camile was the presenter who sees you first and then send the other girls out. Camile I thought was a "Cock Blocker" and I did not have a good time with her. I will not repeat with Camile. I recommend that you all Avoid Camile.

I found out from the Papa-san, a gay guy, that the shift changes at 18:00 at Deseos and that he has up to 9 ladies. Next time I will go there after 18:00. And next time I will go to other Casa.

I did go to Plaza Italia, Plaza Uruguaya and Plaza Independencia. Also, I went to the museum at the City Hall and saw many people living in Shacks in front of the Paraguayan government offices. Many people and police officers told me to be very careful as I could get robbed but absolutely no one bothered me. I also told them to not to worry as I can fight as I practiced martial arts in college. I visited Mercado Cuatro (Market number 4) in el centro which was an experience. It was like Tijuana, Mexico in the 1960-1970's all over again. I did not see any FLs at any of the above places although I explored there in the day time. Maybe at night it may be different. And I made friends with non-pros in the Shopping Del Sol mall.

Check the weather first so you can bring appropriate clothing. Remember ASU is the opposite of the USA. I should have brought my High-tech boots (Gortex) as it was raining and there was a lot of mud as the drainage was either plugged up or nonexistent. Antibacterial soaps, antibacterial lotions, Lysol spray (spray on shower floors and bathroom handles, etc.) and wash your hands and use the antibacterial lotion often. I ran into 2 large swams of bugs so bring and use body insect spray like "Off. " There is a lot of standing water so maybe there is Dengue, Malaria and Yellow Fever there but I am not sure? Again, my experience was there were tons of bugs and mosquitos so "Do Not Forget" your bug spray! Also bring shower slippers as the floors in the 2 Casas that I visited were not very clean. And, one more thing you should bring with you at all times: "Toilet Paper" as all the places I went to had NO Toilet Paper!

Lexton, no I did not find very petite and slender ladies. I think you may want to go to Thailand or the Philippines. I've been to both and you will find many petite and slender ladies there.

I was a little nervous about going to ASU but no, no problem. I did not find the GFE I was searching for, but all in all it was a good trip to ASU. (I think all the beautiful Paraguayan ladies moved to EZE.) If you are a "Clean Freak" no, ASU is not for you. But if can handle going to a typical Third World Latin America place you well be fine. Visit and have fun. I need to explore ASU and to visit more Casas! I will be back, since I already paid for the ASU visa. I still want to find the "GFE" that I had from EZE. Good luck to all!

Hi George. I'm not going to deny that there are a lot of nice women in those areas. I lived over a year and a half in Hotel Boggiani I, 3 blocks from Shopping Mariscal Lopez in the heart of the Villa Morra area. There are at least 10 discos in that area, if they are all still open. Actually, I now regret that I spent so much time there, but it was comfortable. I now believe I would have done much better with women in the Hotel Boggiani III, on Eusebio Ayala near Calle Ultima (Now a no-name hotel. It was sold).

Those areas are the wealthiest in Asuncion. The people there generally are upper class for Paraguay. The stores, restaurants, and bars in those areas are very expensive. One can always get lucky, but the chances of finding many women in need of money aren't very good. The best bet might be a worker in a restaurant or store. At least one is sure they are working class.

Also, there is little public transportation in that area after about 9:00. To get out of there to go home at night, one needs an auto. There are plenty of young guys that have them around there, but they always seemed to be hustling the upscale women. A working woman who goes there at night will have a problem getting home.

That said, things keep changing. You may have hit on something new here. Local women approaching foreigners would either be for coworkers or working pros. Which bar? In the hotel near Shopping del Sol? How old the women? There are more foreign business people in that area now. Maybe they are attracting a new group of pros? Expensive independents? If you can scope out what's happening, report it. If it sounds really good, I may have to go check it out. But without a car, it is hard for me to get home from there also.

What Mercado 4 has, like I said, is many generally poorer people. They go there from all over the metro area to shop and work. So if you are looking for local non pro people, it is somewhat unique. The touristy streets around Palma and Estrella are more full of hustlers and government / office / store workers, who earn more and are less likely to be approachable.

If one wants to meet local women, there aren't many places where they go.

But again, it all depends on your game. Meeting local non pro women isn't that easy.

By the way, I have heard that the blocks of De Francia there have pros and crack heads at night. But I am not going to go there to find out.

There are lots of girls non pros around Shopping Del Sol, Paseo Carmelitas, and Villa Morra.

Just last night at the bar lots of local girls approaching foreigners.

Yes, somewhat strange that $ declined 5% in 10 days for no apparent reason. BTW I always stay in the center and would always recommend that. Asu generally not too pleasant a town for pedestrians, except the very Center, the large central plaza, where the Pantheon de los Heroes is located (and the Lido Bar), Calles Palma and Estrella, there it is ok nice to have a stroll, plus last year they inaugrated the costanera, a waterfront drive along the Bahia de Asuncion, also a nice stroll (just coming from there), if you have nothing better to do that is. Personally like the sight of that preWWII destroyer of the Paraguayan fluvial navy moored there.

You find Asu expensive? I think it is rated the cheapest capital of LatAm. Agree though that it is much less cheap then a few years ago.

The dollar is in decline again and I hope it does not go down much further. Yes, Paraguay is the cheapest pussy you are going to find in Latin America unless you make a girlfriend and she layouts for you daily. Take Paraguay for what it is and enjoy your stay. It is what it is. I am going to. I am staying in centro and no taxis unless I go to the well off areas in the evening for dining, watching the cuties and a beer or two. It must be this 'whities' area you are talking about. I carry all diarrhea medication, including cipro that will kill all bacteria that normal diarrhea medication will not. Learnt my lesson eating street food in Philippines.

Thanks Hollywood for that further research into M4, I later anyway thought that, as I get older, street walkers are a bit too low life for me. No insult intended they lead a hard life, anyway. Privados and independents publishing in the web are more for me.

Today I went to Mercado 4 (Market 4) around 15:30 to 17:30. I looked around and saw many stalls selling food, clothes to cheap junk from China. I did not see any ladies. I then was asking if there are any ladies around the market. Every told me there were none. I kept searching but I did not see any ladies. I was pointed out to a Casa called RB Productions (see Hot or Asunsex for address). Just one pretty petite lady and 3 not so good looking ladies. Prices were 100 for 30 minutes and 150 for one hour. I did not partake.

Earlier, I went to Deseos at 1008 14 de Mayo. A yellow house with blue trim and door. It was 100 for 30 minutes, 150 for 45 minutes and 200 for 60 minutes. I was with Ingrid. She was pretty and slim. The problem was she had a very bad cold and the performance was not that good. I will not repeat with Ingrid.

I don't know why but I had very, very good luck with Paraguayan ladies in EZE (Buenos Aires). All the Paraguayan ladies were GFE with me there. OK, no problem, tomorrow awaits me.

I listened to Ken Apple and brought a lot of soap, antibacterial lotion and Lysol spray (disinfectant) so I guess that's why my suitcase is so heavy. I'm glad I did bring the cleaners as this country is extremely dirty! And it looks like there was a hurricane here as everything needs are & are! (repair and replacement). It is very dirty here so if you are into cleanliness this is NOT the place for you.

Returning to my hotel near the Shopping del Sol, I was in a overly-packed bus with maybe 50-60 people. I think the people could have use some of my soap and disinfectant. I'm not sure if they have deorant or perfume here? Anyway, If you take the bus here I hope you have good dental fillings as they may get loose as the ride is very bumpy and shaky. It took me about 20 minutes to get to the center of town and about 90 minutes to get back as the traffic was very bad. The people in Shopping del Sol seem to be more "White" and the center people seen to be more "Brown. " I'm surprised that ASU has so many "White" Paraguayan people.

I was worried about the water and cleanliness of the food in the restaurants but I been here for a couple of days and am not having any trouble (traveler's diarrhea), although I am careful of where I eat.

Since the US Dollar is at a very bad rate the already expensive prices are very, very expensive. I am shocked at the prices here. Well, I guess we have the advantage of Costco, Sam's Club, Walmart, etc.

Today I had an afternoon with nothing to do, so headed for mercado 4, curious to see if there are some girls around, because I heard there is some street action.

Well, didn't see any, only miles of stalls after stalls after stalls, not picturesque really, just 3. World. Was there from 4 to 5 pm.

Any of you knowing anything by Chance? Was I too early? Is it only after dark? Or did I miss the specific place where they hang out? Any hint appreciated.

BTW was in Parada 838 the day before, glad all you guys liked it, found it a bit shabby, though, type of place you wouldn't want to take a shower really.

Turned out I had a good time anyway, but like other privados more like Cerro Cora 462, or that one called "Mansion VIP" (has listings in hot.com.py) which is some 30% more expensive then the Microcentro Privados plus it is taxy ride of some distance from Microcentro but had quite some hotties when I visited. Can't recall address.

What pleasant climate these days! Have been here often, all too many times it is just too damn hot.

While I was organizing my trip, the weather reports showed July as the coldest month. I was not sure about the rains too. So I decided upon August for my trip. I'm in ASU now. I am staying near the Shopping Del Sol. It's raining on and off and I should have brought my Hi-tech hiking boots (Gortex breathable) as there is no drainage and it's very muddy here where my hotel is.

I took the bus number 30 from the ASU airport to Shopping Del Sol Mall. I paid 2,400 Gs (Guarani Paraguay) instead of the 88,000 Gs (I think?) for a taxi. Taking the bus is not for everyone. The buses are pre-historic and should be retired to the junk yard. The roads are very bumpy with cracks and potholes. And you need to be pretty strong to carry a suitcase (mine was 52 lbs.) and backpack while holding on for dear life. The driver was going over 90 kms on a very bad highway. It seemed like the driver would accelerate and brake at the last second and you would jerk forward for every stop.

I got cleaned up and changed clothes and went to Parada 838 (Itubre 838) taking a taxi (42,500 Gs) as it was 17:00 and was getting dark. I must of had bad luck as all was left were about 7 overweight and older ladies. I prefer young and very slim. I was going to leave but after all the trouble and expense I decide to take Analia. Analia was about 5'5", 130 lbs with dyed blond / gold hair. She was 27 years old with one child. She was all business and no GFE. All was covered. I will not repeat with her. I think is was 80,000 Gs for 30 minutes. I did not see any of the young and slim ladys listed on their website. I am not sure if I will go back to Parada 838 but I may go there on Sunday as I think the other Casas are closed.

ASU is pretty runned down and the infrastructure is crumbling. But I think it is better than MDE (Medellin, Colombia).

In Ken Apple's report for "Newbies" he strongly recommeds hand washing as things here are not very clean here. I agree, I brought liquid hand soap, alcohol hand sanitizer, Lysol spray and antibacterialbodysoap.

Very nice people here! I asked for directions or a recommendation for a restaurant and the people are very friendly and all smiles. (Try getting a smile out of someone in PTY (Panama) (I go to PTY very often). The US Dollar was at 4400 to 1 a few weeks ago and now it is at 4200 to 1 US Dollar. Wow, what happened over the last few days? So now things getting very expensive for us Gringos. At least conversational Spanish should be known to ask basic questions and recommendations.

I'll be taking bus number 30 daily to the casas since I will be going durning the daytime.

P.S: I am seeing mosquitos hanging around my room even though it's a little cold. Bring bug spray also just in case.

Recently returned from a weeks stay in ASU, stayed at Hotel Cecllia, comfortable Hotel, secure, well kept, two / three star local hotel, front desk helpful, arranged local tours, OK.

Breakfast, good location, near Crown Plaza and a very good restaurant, excellent steaks, Lobe Osvaldo, and local Pub, overall experience OK, local scene similar to Quito.

Ecuador experience several years ago, not cheap but affordable, will repeat, enjoy.

I sympathize with the problem but just can't advise you much. To finish with this, you have to think about what you can do.

I have never been to Palmas del Sol but mongers have been happy with the location nearer the apts. The other areas are in the old Microcenter / port area, where there is some ability to wander at night and maybe find something outside the apts. The Benjamin Constant apt is near the disco Africa which I think is still open. But if you don't speak spanish you are not likely to hit something in a disco. It won't be that easy on the street. Take out from the apts is reportedly very expensive, and I don't doubt this.

So I kind of have to go back to what I said in the first place. It isn't easy to decide. Best is to try to read the posts and relate what was said to what you think you CAN do. And give it your best shot. Good luck.
