Of course. Sometimes I read here some bad comments about Mombasa / mtwapa / bamburi.
But after more and more good reports (and because a friend) I make my decision (some weeks ago) to travel in three weeks to mombasa / mtwapa (first time). I hope it will not be such a horror event like ElephantBeer report. It make me a little nervous.
I know Kampala / some Uganda city's (see my report there), Zanzibar (nothing to do) and a little bit Daressalam. So I hope it will be not a horror trip.

I just left Mombasa (thank fucking god).
On my trip research (from this board) I was told Mombasa town was too rough to stay in, Nyali was upscale, Mtwapa was the nightlife area and Bamburi was good for the beach and picking up daytime girls. I could walk down to the beach to Pirates and New Big Tree etc and see more girls for hire.
I decided to base myself in Bamburi. Cowrie Shell Beach Hotel. I had visions of sitting in a beach bar and taking multiple girls back to my beach bungalow during the day, then partying in Mtwapa at night.
It was not like this at all. For the sake of preventing some naive future traveler from following in my footsteps:
The train from Nairobi to Mombassa was great. It was like something out of the film Pleasantville, the 'stewardesses' dressed to perfection and welcoming you into the trains. The first class ticket was only $30 usd and everything was immaculate. Long clean hallways, escalators that work, little red platforms that extend to cover the gap. It was other-worldly. I thought I read it was a 4 HR trip. But more like 6. Interesting scenery but the glass was dirty so hard to get good photos.
Pulling into Mombasa I realized I was in a nightmare. Ti takes about 45 min (little traffic) 1:15 (lots of traffic) to get to Bamburi. It's fucking FAR away. People drive like they're on meth (a given), but even slightly worse than in Nairobi. Tons of pollution, dust, and it's frigging hot. Plowing through Mombasa, Nyali and finally Bamburi I was overwhelmed by the ugliness of the city, just this industrial-poverty.
Cowrie was not the nice upscale beach huts I had imagined, although a little pricey it's at the end of a long dirt road and it's basically a concrete cube with small pool in the center. The rooms were large but had constant trouble with aircons not working, doors not opening, keys not working, toilet running etc. Nobody really used the pool during my stay and the they close the gate at 7 om to the beach. So if you're out there you'll have to walk all the way around.
The taxi mafi are insane that sit outside. Asking 600 to go to Bamburi market to change money and get some snacks (used uber instead). No place to buy water / snacks nearby.
There's a restaurant on the beach at Cowrie but not affiliated with the hotel. It serves truly dire food. I thought I'd be safe with cheese pizza one night (and spent the evening throwing up), then tried the fish and chips (1,350) and spent that night throwing up. And I have a cast iron stomach. The rest of the trip I lived off Pringles and tea cookies. Yum.
There are 3 girls that hang out at the restaurant. One is obese and old, one is strung out looking, and one was beyond obese. That's it. I decided to try my luck walking down to Pirates one afternoon / evening. Figured out quickly it's far too far away to walk in any kind of heat (and fuck Mombasa is hot). Two fat 40 year old ladies called me from the shade for massages. I declined.
Pirates was dead. No working girls at all, nor any on the beach. It appeared to be a public part of the beach and there were like several hundred regular families and teenagers there swimming in the most god-awful sea I've ever seen. It was low tide and there were pockets-of-sea amongst an ocean of algae. It looked terrible.
I went to a few more bars near Pirates and had a few beers, they're all open-air so you will sit and sweat. You can watch people take camel rides, and that's about the only interesting thing that will happen.
Nightime went to Mtwapa. By La Post and walked up and down the streets. There were girls out, but they were just awful looking. Rolly-polly fat-burgers. There weren't many either. I was accosted by some teenage boys who made a grab for my wallet chain and I grabbed his arm and they just laughed. (that's not where I keep my money anyway).
Tried Lolipop strip bar. And that was lame. They keep all their bikinis on (200 entry), and dance on two poles. It's a small venue, small enough to smell the BO from all the girls. They do a funny bit where they swing their pussy over your head or try to force your face intbetwen their open legs. I got both treatment and sweat to god they just smelled so bad. Like if you open up a Durian and ithe fruit has been mixed with cat [CodeWord109] and a mason's underware after a hot day in the sun.
If you tip them they will flash their pussy, or let you put the money up against it. I tried that once and regretted it as I was swamped byt the other girls. Just bolted.
Casaurina is the 'happening' place and it indeed it was happening at 11:30 at night. There were 6 hookers and two expats, a few locals in the back. One girl was doable (slutty) but when she got close she just smelled so rank I couldn't imagine climbing in there. Another girl so drunk (and her belly flap hanging out) kept coming over telling me she liked me and would like me more if I'd buy her more drinks. Then pinching my dick (hard).
If this is what passes for nightlife and mongering in Mombasa. Well. What happened to the people of the earth!
All said. Mombasa was just about the most dire place I've tried to monger, Nairobi was more dangerous (so maybe that takes the cake) but in terms of sheer ugliness and un-fun time Mombasa wins.
YMMV. But for beautiful and plentiful girls in a good setting with nicer people around you. Try a country that doesn't smell like BO. Brazil, Thailand, PI, Havana, just about anyplace.

Arrive in Nairobi on a Friday evening. Head to Emerald for a 2 nights stay with their transfer service (30 dollar one way). Now A, I bring one of the two short time girls I'm in touch with (they can stay 2-3) days with me or be, I just try my luck in the vicinity as the hotel is close to many clubs in fact it has its own club as well.
Third night A, I meet up with one of two sweethearts I'm in touch with for the rest of my stay (7 days), one live in Nairobi the other in Eldoret. Eldoret girl wants a laptop or an Iphone (cost of that approx 400 euros) the Nairobi girl just wants a serious relationship. After third night I or we head to Mombasa. Or be, I just go on my own and try my luck with whatever female Mombasa has to offer.
Security measures, Colera vaccine and yellow fever, chain plus padlock as reinforcement to my suitcase. Not using the hotel safe when I'm not in the room. Room kept chica proof at all times. Uber door to door at night and evenings. In Mombasa I thought of staying at Cowrie Shells apartments, has good reviews. But at night its uber to the front door as it seems gangs are in the parameters at night (well just outside). Budget for this operation is 4,000 euros give or take. Round trip ticket plus accommodation is about 1,000 euros. Alltho it doesn't mean I will spend it all.
Cheers.

Posts: 548If you go back 10 years then Mombasa was a blast. Cheers was always busy and buzzing, Casarinhas after midnight was always full with women, Tembo on a weekend was awesome, big tree was always full of hunters, The cafeserie coffee shop before it become cafeserie was books1st and then fishermans cove, it was a lot cheaper than now and always had women on the hunt. The beach always had women hunting but now they don't bother as there are no tourists.
The terror attacks came, security git worse, so less charter flights was a result of that, the Kenyan mentality was put prices up for poor accommodation as business went down.
Hence Mombasa is now a pale shadow of its former self.
Now, if you know how Kenya works and understand the people you can still fill your boots but if your expecting a Pattaya style place then forget it.

Once you know the trick how to acquire targets you can rotate up to 10 chicas...

A lot of things contribute into making a place a 'mongers paradise. ' And. Places change, often quickly. And stop becoming a paradise.
Sometimes it's just the availability of quality girls (sheer numbers + attitude + bareback + price) - something that made a place like Angeles City good (prior to 2009). You suffered through that shithole of a town to get to the good poon.
Or it's a combination: variety of girls + numbers + nude + GFE + other cool things to do in the town. Sort of like Bangkok or Pattaya (before 2005).
Dolly (another shithole town) for the novelty and sheer number of poon + extremely cheap prices. Before 2012.
Jakarta before 2012 - quality of girls + numbers working + cheap price + can-do attitude.
Argentina or Brazil, Medellin or Cali back in the day for the number of apartment brothels + variety of girls + decent prices + cool things to do in these cities made it all around a good place to visit and monger.
Geyling had it's day when it was fun to roam the rows and go for a cheap shag and still enjoy what's on offer in a nice (if boring) city.
Cambodia before 2007 - more shit-hole towns but with some faded colonial atmosphere and good food / accommodation all for a cheap price etc.
Sihanoukville was good before they clamped down.
Havana. Before 2010/2012 - good girls, great food, excellent atmosphere.
Small towns in China (Chang Ann / Ping) before 2011 - amazing number of poon, cheap prices, etc brought you to places you ordinarily would never visit.
(and it continues).
The problem with places like Mombassa (today) and Nairobi (today) is that it's just a shithole. With little redeeming value. The quality of the girls is low, the quantity is low, it's not particularly easy to get to, and not an enjoyable city when not mongering, that dangers are an omnipresent part of your vacation, risk of diseases is higher than the other spots, attitudes are generally lower, potential for scam higher, and it's a lot more hit or miss. There's no real 'red light district' - there are some 'bars on a beach' which change fairly regularly, some clubs and streets in Mtwapa and the girls will make a circuit. Sure you might be able to chat the girls in advance and arrange meetups from small towns. But that's hardly paradise. Overall it's just a dirty, mean little (spread out) port town, full of constant hassles and not full of hot poon that you can fuck with ease.
What brought me to Africa was hearing tales about ALL the hot girls everywhere, just walking and waiting on the beach. I thought you could just walk to beach, be approached and take back to room throughout the day repeatedly. Or all the clubs full of hot-in-the-bed stunners you could take back for short times, the great massage parlours in Addis, the easy knocking shops in Nairobi. -hhahahahahahhahaha. The truth is SO FAR from what I've read on the board that it's a joke really.
You often hear that African mongers are 'hard-core' - but isn't a hard-core monger the one that has traveled the world's RLD and knows where the best value + quality + quantity + quality of life is? Does hardcore really mean willing to risk one's life to screw used up hookers in shit port towns? Dunno.
To me it's not a mongers paradise, more a mongers hell. Maybe it used to be, or maybe other countries are better. I've only been to 7 African countries so far. Just a taste. I'm sure republic of Congo is where it's at.
(Unless of course you're happy just shagging whatever old fatty is hanging by your hotel beach, bar, pool) In which case. Maybe it's paradise for you.
