Well, that place "Long Hen" is the best and the most expansive hostess bar in Taiwan. The media says Taiwan's economy is bad but if you spend an evening at the Starbucks watching the cars pulling up to go into Long Hen, it really makes you wonder. Of the girls that I've tried in Taiwan, most are Taiwanese except for the ones who obviously aren't, as in, the mommy or pappy tells you that she's from the mainland. From my experience, most of the ones you find in the advertisements at the back of the Taipei Times or China Post, etc are from the mainland. Most of the sauna and KTV places are local Taiwanese. Especially if a place has a primarily Taiwanese clientèle, they're not gonna try a bait and switch mainlander for local, since the clients can very easily tell the difference. Even my dumb ABC ass can tell the difference about 75% of the time.

No idea on BBS. From what I hear, they're sort of scary, as in local Taiwanese, but probably about as old as your mother, with a few younger ones just to confuse you.
