    SCZ Report

Spent couple of weeks in SCZ. Used to go there many times few years back.

First I must say that it is not so dangerous as some people say. Just don't go wrong places / areas if you are very drunk.

The street action is non existent. Few years back you could find a nice girl for a reasonable price in the street. Now I didn't see any. During the daytime you can find girls in the casas de masajes for different prices. I didn't visit any of them.

I just visited some clubs during the night. The prices are outrageous. You must pay for the girls more than in Brazil.

I visited few times Curry's. It is maybe the best and most expensive club in SCZ. The girls are 7-9. A beer costs 40, Cuba Libre is 50 BOB. The girl drinks always cost the double. It seemed that all the clubs I visited the girls prefer making their money drinking than fucking (they get a commission for every drink the client buys her). If you want to get the girl out, you must pay for the girl and the house (la salida). La salida is around USD 50 and the girl asks something between 100-150 for 1 hour or 1 1/2 hours. The time actually doesn't make any difference, because one shot and the time is over. You can also fuck the girls on the premises. All these clubs have rooms, which cost some 200 BOB. They are quite disgusting, but you can get it done if you don't want to take the girl out and pay la salida. Even if the girls say one hour, you get a knock on the door after 35-40 minutes.

Then I visited couple of times Cafe Show. Girls are 6-9. A beer costs 30 BOB. Girl prices are more or less the same. I didn't fuck any of them, but had actually really good time drinking and dancing with the girls and watching the striptease shows.

Third I visited Red Lips. The girls are mostly 5-7 and some gorls are maybe 8. I fucked 2 girls there in the house. The sex was ok, but nothing sensational. Paid USD 100 for the girl and 200 BOB for the room. Be careful if you go there. During my last visit after the sex I was standing and watching the girl taking a shower. I felt something touching my leg and saw a big rat running to the shower and the up the shower wall, where it disappeared in a crack in the ceiling. I didn't know that the rats can run on wall as fast as on the ground.

I also visited a club which name I don't remember. The girls were 5-6. Quite worn out Peruvian girl tried to get USD 100 for a fuck. I said no thanks and left.

Putting all this together you can fuck in SCZ, but it is expensive and it is no mongers paradise.

Good information, but only applicable to certain type of folks.

Top quality girls can be had at lower cost (although it will take some work and research) , and average types at much much lower cost. A broader array of options are available, and, the safety situation is nowhere close to be as bad. In fact I have felt safer there than in some other SA countries and even some US cities.

    Enjoy Bolivia.
Beoader array of options? Could you be more specific? I am going to SCZ next week and I am fluent in Spanish.

Only travel by radio dispatched taxis even if you go short distances from the hotel. Take a business card for your hotel. Even if you speak some Spanish, taxis that you get downtown won't understand you and won't know the hotel. Agree on a price before you enter the taxi. Take a male friend along. Always have small bills; drivers have no change.

Stay away from the streets off the main plaza after dark. Do hang around Equipetrol

TripAdvisor. Com has excellent restaurant, bar and night-time recommendations.

These days I would not go to brothels or clubs frequented by locals.

    Santa Cruz

Most of its a blur. This is what I can recall:

I stayed at Los Tajibos. The girls were required to show I'd. This was mandatory. I believe there was a fee associated with the guest of 50. 00US. I visited 3 strip clubs and wound up at Curry's. It was by far the best club in terms of quality and quantity. The girls rec bracelets for each drink they had me buy them. I settled on bottle service. Was cheaper in the long run. The price for LT was 250. 00 US. I hired a guide and he get me out of trouble for the most part.

    Revisit of Santa Cruz, Bolivia

The "freelancers" seem to have disappeared from the area around Plaza Principal (it used to be my happy hunting ground) but virtually impossible to find anything nowadays.

The porter at my hotel called a Chica for me a couple of evenings but I did not think that the quality was quite as good as before.

I would be interested to hear how your trip went as I have to go again later this year.

I was just in Bolivia for almost 10 days, with most of the time in Santa Cruz where it rained like the dickens. The upsurge in crime, by armed thugs, kept me away from the main square after dark and away from several of the markets during the day. This was on the sound advice of local friends in the area. The drug situation is also getting out of hand.

There is widespread political unrest with ongoing road blockades of the major cities, LP, SCZ, CBBA and Oruro. Because of the violent nature of the protest, I left Bolivia earlier than planned.

Last week, a report on CNN online revealed that in a listing of those nations of the world most UNfriendly to tourists, Bolivia was rated the absolute worst. Worse than Iran?

In the Andean highlands, locals are overtly hostile to outsiders of European stock and will charge you more and give you inferior or damaged merchandise. In SCZ, the situation was only slightly better.

Negotiating though the traffic is a nightmare especially with a good chunk of the taxis in severe disrepair; most are without seat belts. Hotel and airfare prices continue to climb. The better restaurants are the only good deal in town. They are safe too.

This was not a good time to look for chicas.

    The golden days are gone.

    I will not return.

Guys, AA service sucks. High prices. Freaking AAdvantage not useful anymore. Seats flying aorund. Old aircrafts. Before I could fly roundtrip with 40K miles. No more.

Copa Airlines have direct flights from LAX to Panama City and to Santa Cruz for half the price.

If you are visiting La Paz, I recommend www.lasmasbellasbolivia.com, I have seen Francesca and Guerlain. Excellent GFE service. Damage around $100 plus motel.

So what did you do when there?

The Wall Street Journal, Aug 1, 2012, describes a major influx of drug money is changing Bolivia for the worse.

Thugs roam the streets looking for white men who have cash in their pockets.

Asking prices for full service encounters have, in many cases, nearly matched prices asked in Manhattan.

The federal government is now obscenely anti-American and the change is palpable.
