My rental car was an Audi and the German police told me that I don't have permission to drive in Czech Republic. Be awre of this folks. Make sure you pick up a car that is allowed to drive there. Some time ago the German television revelaed that a lot of child prostitution was going on in the border cities in Czech, and that many German men were travelling there for this business. The television followed with hidden camaeras around in the city and also had interviews with som child SWs. This was a big story in television for some time and some German politicans also reminded their Czech collegeus that child prostiution is not acceptable for a EU conutry, and finally I saw in the television that the Czech internal minister promised to have the police look into it and Germany send also some police squard across to help and train the Czech police.

It is properly this 'clean-up' you have heard about. I can't image that the Czech police is after the normal prostitution going on in Dubi and Teplice. Every 2nd house in these towns are a brothel with girls exposed in the windows, and any police car driving through the main street will see at least 50 pros, so if prositituion is illegal in Czech (I don't know if it is) then is a very known unofficial business in Dubi and Teplice. I would not worry about the police.

The benefits of Dubi so far are: much lower prices. But also, some bigger risks. Like the constant police presence and patrols. Keep your car lights on all day, at every time of day. Without your own car, you might or might not be able to get one of the street girls to go with you. I’ve never tried without a car. The girls will tell you where they want to go. Some prefer the car, some prefer the hotel. As for the club girls, Binky has yet to find a really worthwhile club girl. Just a question: Why are you driving German rented cars into Czech? If you can afford to rent a car, you might as well rent one in Czech for a lot less. Although I would recommend looking out for the cops if you pick up the street girls with a rental car - I don't know what the laws are like here, but in the states, the cops can take away your car or your rental car and cause all sorts of shit for you. Clubs are legal here, but street girls are not. My guess from seeing the cops around Dubi is that they'll just want a 500 or 1000 kc note to leave you alone. I've never had problems with a car in Dubi - but I was driving a Skoda from Czech. Honestly, you only really need a car in Dubi if you want the street girls. The reason I rented cars from Germany was that's where my plane landed (Munich). A follow on flight to Prague would have cost me more. However, after a careful calulation, a rental car in Prague cost about 100 USD less for a four day trip, plus gas and highway tax, they come out about even. And I don't have to worry about violating any rental agreement. That's why I have been flying directly into Prague and rented cars from there in my past few trips. I am not saving any time though because a connecting flight with layover usually takes about 4 hours from Munich or Frankfurt to Prague.

Another thing about driving in Czech (or may be only applies to Prague), make sure your headlights are turned on even during daytime. I was stopped one time in Prague and it cost me 500 czk in fine, paid right on the spot.

even in italy if I rent a car they ask if i am going south if I say yes then i will get a cheapper more common car.

as for the legal age in many europe states legal sex is at 16 or even less in some places. but pay for play is always 18+. In the end as a guest i think i would never push these limits I would not want to spend time arguing with the policie. If they stop you in teplice they will most likly want a bribe. I have tried a number of major rental companies in Germany in the past and none of them allowed their rental cars to be driven to countries such as Czech and Poland. The countries are listed on the back of the rental agreement. You can do anything you want as long as you don't get caught or get into trouble such as have the car stolen. No insurance will cover the lost if you violate the rental agreement.

I must admit I have driven German rental cars to Prague few times. Only once I was questioned by Czech boarder guard do I have permission from rental company to drive it to Czech. I lied and told him I paid extra insurance to do that and then the guard allowed me to proceed.

Now that Czech is part of EU, rules might have changed a bit.
