    Pre-pandemic information

I am old even if young-looking and I don't like rush sex. I like to take a girl to my rented apartment for 2 hours. I like to drink, eat something and have a girlfriendly experience. I don't like night clubs but to meet girls on the street or in open bars.

Can you tell me if Athens is the city for me?

Can you tell me the costs please? I don't want to spend a lot.

I am used to Africa, where the girls are beautiful, cheap and friendly and they are pro.

I thank you for your precious info, because I don't know Athens at all!
Sorry my information / experience is pre-pandemic. I visited Athens in the summer of 2019. Then I went to Kolonou street and walked around. The girls are in homes with a "pimp" running operations. It was cheap. 10 euros for a fcuk. It took me 10 to 15 minutes to do my thing. Talent pool was mixed and mostly from Russia. The hot chicks had much longer wait times. You sat with fellow johns in a waiting room just like you would do at your doctor / dentist office. I found a few not so good looking / older ones who were exceptional fcuks. There is another red light area but that seems to be for Greeks only. Yes there is that type of discrimination. Overall, I enjoy the sex there. Incredibly cheap at 10 euros + discretionary tip. They always gave me grateful hugs after receiving the tip. The houses they are in are scattered all around that neighborhood. You will not be able to miss it by the typical red light outside the door or the steady stream of johns leaving or going in. Any questions please let me know but remember this is my experience in 2019 and so I hope it is still valid for 2021. Have fun and don't forget to post your field report.

While they don't like the governmental measure, the alternative would be just shutting down the entire business.

    LEFTERIS PAPADIMAS.

Greek sex workers are concerned that new health and safety guidelines to protect them and their clients against the coronavirus will harm their business.

Regulations which came into force on June 15 urge sex workers to keep names and contact numbers of customers, who will lose the anonymity they previously sought.

"What client is going to give us their personal information? I tell you, people are going to go hungry," said Anna Kouroupou, a trans-woman who heads Red Umbrella, a support group.

As brothels across the country reopened on Monday, the rules dictate the use of masks, partners keeping their heads apart, bed linen changed after each encounter, cashless payments and clients leaving a name and contact number.

"They are ridiculous and I'm putting it mildly," said Rita, who manages a brothel in central Athens.

On Monday evening, business was brisk. But with the new requirements, sex workers wonder for how long.

"It's been mad, someone said sex-starved," said Rita, counting out 15 euros left by each client.

Those in the industry are anxious to earn some money now as sex workers received no benefits during the lockdown. Kouroupou would do fund-raisers, and collect supermarket coupons to help others.

She and others in the business fear the new rules may force sex workers to go underground. She also dismisses the notion of orderly queues at brothels.

"They almost break down the door in their hurry to get in because they are embarrassed to be seen. How will they be expected to queue? It's ridiculous. " (Reuters).

    Hello!

I've come to the comments section to ask a question that I have after hearing different stories and not being sure what to believe. I really want to visit Mykonos; it seems like a beautiful island and I love to party, so I think it has everything I'm looking for. That said, I also know that it's an extremely popular gay destination. I want to travel somewhere where I can find women and explore luxurious brothels, but I'm not sure if the island has more establishments for gays than for straight men. The trip is expensive and I don't want to spend the money if I'm not going to have options when I get there. What do you think? Is it possible to find straight sex in Mykonos as well?

I suggest you both to use a credit card wherever is available.

Unfortunately you can't use it in Brothels or studios.

I guess it depends on your bank and what your current debit card offers you. My intention would be to have cash on me since the economy is so volatile in Greece. ATM's can run out of cash or limits on what you can take out can be affected. I learned this from traveling to Argentina.

I plan on having at least half of my trip money in cash, using the Atms for the first two weeks and the cash for the following two weeks.

Posters on Trip Advisor say the rate isn't as good but then again it depends what your bank charges you. In my case between my bank's fees and the local bank's fees I pay a decent amount, maybe close to $7/9 per transaction. I try to limit my usage to just a handful of times per trip.

I also plan on using my Visa card for almost everything. Worked like a charm in Peru and was more cost effective.

In the center of Athens where most brothels are located you will find several places where you can exchange your bills. Amount won't be a problem.

Public bathroom are not available. It is better to ask the service to use the restroom.

If you need any other information please feel free to ask.

I've got most of the information that I need minus two questions. The information on the Athens thread is priceless.

    1. If I bring cash will I be able to find an exchange house that will take my dollars and will I be able to exchange $100 bills or better to bring smaller denominations? Not interested in ATM's.

    2. What is the public bathroom situation like in Athens? Are there paid toilets available or do most places offer restroom services?

    Thank You.

Taxis are jumpy at the moment and would not take me to any freelancer areas as they explained they're long time tour guides and didn't want trouble with the cops.
I go several times a year and was there a couple of months ago. I tend to use local names and Gazi is the unofficial name for Keramicos. You're a bit of a beginner and have admitted as much. I've just tried to help where I can. A lot of the info you have been posting for other punters has been poor or inaccurate: nothing against you personally.
