Another great report, thanks. Be there in Mid-January, first trip, planning on staying at the Panorama Hotel. You have mentioned staying at this hotel before, do you advise reservations or can a person do better just walking in? Is there a high season like in Bangkok where getting room reservations is important? I have not nailed down my dates yet for Rangoon, but will in the next couple days. Another question, any issues with customs getting into the Country such as limits on cash, bag searches, ect.? I see another post links an email to Panorama hotel. Any advice is appreciated.

Hi Dragon, I've always emailed the Panorama in advance for reservations just to make sure they have a room for me. It doesn't cost anything to book inadvance through email unlike the online booking sites. A single room is now about $25 although they still charge me the same rate I paid when I started going there two years ago. The girls at reception are nice and friendly and so too are the other hotel staff; they've never battered an eye lid when I bring the girls back and furthermore, they're even polite and courteous to the girls when they register them in! I thoroughly recommend the Panorama. If you're lucky, you may even get a double bed at single rates .. this has happened to me three times .. I guess they know my requirements by now. hehehe...

Yes, there's a USD $2000 limit on cash brought in to the country. If you have more than this, then you'll need to declare it. As for bag searches, I've not been checked on this nor my last trip. During the times when I've been checked, they only looked in my hand luggage. I bring a mobile phone and a laptop in my travels and this doesn't seem to be a problem. The Myanmar Customs people at the airport are quite ok, unlike in my home country where they think everyone coming from Burma is a drug dealer. I get checked more thoroughly when I go home from Burma than when I arrive in this country.

A tip for new arrivals to Burma .. don't change money at the airport. The rates are appalling .. get a taxi to your hotel for $6 USD and change your money there. Once you get your bearings of where things are in Rangoon, then go to the jewellry shops at Bogyoke Aung San market ( a 10 minute walk from the Panorama Hotel, 5 minutes from the Traders Hotel). The best exchange rates are there. Don't change from money changers on the streets, especially those hanging outside Sule Pagoda or the Mahabandoola Gardens.

Back in Rangoon now for a bit if R&R and P4P .. just a short report to start the ball rolling; I may do a “blow by blow” report later if time permits.

So just updating the scenes for those on their way here for the same;

The girls outside the cinemas are willing to go for about 5,000 kyat ST and extra for the hotel room. Some won’t go back to your hotel because they don’t have ID’s but the short time hotel is about 3000 to 5000 kyat extra (based on my earlier experience).

Went to The Palace in the evening. My A’Chi from previous reports has ‘retired’, so the girls from her brothel house tells me. No problem, as there are still many to choose from. Picked one cutie who was really polite and so innocent looking that I thought she must have come to the wrong place thinking that the Palace was some kind of kids ammusement center. She tells me she’s 18, and had ID to prove it, so she was it for the night. Took her back to the hotel and after watching some TV, we got straight into the action. As reported earlier, when these girls watch TV, they get so absorbed into it. We watch Mad Max 2? and when the scene of the head-on collision came, she shook and screamed as though she was in the crash! LOL!

Had a couple of shots with her and was quite a nice experience; she was in no hurry whatsoever and didn’t leave in the morning until about 11 am which is quite late. We made arrangements to meet later that evening back at the Palace.

The Emperor was packed to the rafters and as soon as I walked in, I was dragged away with offers from a number of girls near the entrance .. this just shows how easy it is to pickup in Rangoon. I’m not a big fan of fashion parades but the girls at the Emperor last night were stunningly gorgeous. If you’re in Rangoon during these next few weeks, make sure you visit the Emperor just for the fashion show. There’s a sign at the back of the stage saying something about a contest so I’m wondering whether these girls are the ‘top of the crop’? The girls in the parade were a mix of all the faces you can expect from Burmese girls … some were Chinese looking, others had that sharp Indian type facial features, others were a cross between the two; fair skinned with large eyes; it’s a pity that cameras are prohibited from the clubs .. would have loved to have taken some snaps of the girls to show everyone here.

After the fashion show was over we headed back to the hotel where ‘the usual’ happened. We started with a shower where she went on to polish my johnny and after seeing her gorgeous face attached to that tight body of hers with her well proportioned titties doing this to me, it was almost enough for me to blow my load there and then even before official proceedings had begun!

Probably due to many of the girls coming from poor families and not having access to TV's or electricity for that matter and therefore can become quite fascinated by something we all take for granted.

And your description of how they perform with their clients is right on the ball as well. There will be those who tend to be a little more shy or conservative, but those who do "open up" (I mean open up their personality .. not pussies .. as pussies open automatically ) respond in ways which I find quite unique to Burma. You can be assured that when the girls are "oooing and arring" that they do genuinely mean it, unlike some of the girls I've had in other countries. How to get them to be relaxed and 'at ease' is thus the $64K question and using the TV, and ordering food before hand to create a relaxed and non-threatening atmosphere for the girls, in my experience, works really well. I do this also and give them the remote to select the channels and if we're back from the clubs early enough to order room service, I get them to order food as well. (And yes, when they order, you get charged the local price!)

So I hope mongerers new to Burma will find this information helpful and not expect the girls in Burma to be anything like those in, say Thailand. *** Panorama Hotel Logistics. The Panorama Hotel’s full address is Panorama Hotel, 294-300, Pansodan St, Kyauktada Township, Yangon, Myanmar. Tel. 233 077 251 984-5 Fax 251 986-7, e-mail panorama@mptmail.net.mm. The hotel is in downtown Yangon, next to Asia Plaza, and 5 minutes walk to, Traders Hotel, the Sule Paya and Scotts Market. Airport transfers from the airport would cost you 6 US$, both with the hotels own car or a taxi.

*** Panorama Hotel Impressions. I must admit that I was skeptical about the hotel. I did not find it in my (old) Myanmar LP guidebook, and apart from reviews on ISG I did not find any reviews on the net. It does have favorable reviews in LPs new edition and I later found Lonely Planets praise of the friendly service at the hotel well deserved – bellboys, front desk and housekeeping staff are equally courteous, competent and (for an Asian hotel) fluent in English. Rooms are basic, but immaculately clean. The only thing I did not particularly like was the very limited breakfast; but then you had the entertainment of a mixed Asian and European group of patrons there, so it did not really matter. Bottom line – the PH is not only _guest_ friendly, it is _genuinely_ friendly: I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to even female friends traveling alone looking for a downtown, budget hotel with competent staff.

*** The Masseuses under the bridge – 1st impressions. I had not even fully arrived at the hotel, but was just exiting from my taxi when the masseuses under the bridge started to tout their services. Thanks to the guidance of the board, I did appreciate their helpfulness in finding a girl for the night and talked to one lady and told her I would come back later. I do not exactly understand why, but I never liked the idea talking to a papasan – I much prefer mamasans; I am tempted to think that generally they do a better job matching their girls with their clients.

*** The Masseuses – 2nd thoughts. I did stay ten days in Myanmar, five days in Yangon and five days upcountry. In those 5 days, I used the Services of 2 different masseuses, both of which spoke limited English and seemed to have their distinct and separate group of girls.

* Masseuse #1 has usually been sitting at the very front corner, closest to Bogyoke Aung San Rd / Sule Pagoda Rd. She is very friendly, usually smiled and gives a strong, Thai type massage. I did not ask her about girls; instead towards the end of the massage she started to massage my scrotum (well, okay, in some instances this _is_ still a regular massage), then my balls (very occasionally, that _may be_ a regular massage), the my shaft (well, this _is not_ a regular job). She when asked me whether I liked to ‘fuck’, she did not use the word ‘poking’ (‘fucking ok?’), essentially soliciting herself – I asked her about a younger girl, she understood and called a girl or an agency. The 1st time, she actually stayed in the room until the girl arrived. When ordering with Masseuse #1, only _one_ girl arrived at a time. The massage lady later (when trying to persuade me to get another girl) explained to me that she had a selection of 6 different girls and she would make sure that I would get a different girl each time. I do believe that she works with this limited number of girls and thus could not afford to send a group of girls.

* Masseuse #2 has usually been sitting at the very front corner, closest to Anawratha Rd / Sule Pagoda Rd with some of the hotels security staff. She did not ever smile, seemed speak even less English. But she did give a very strong massage, using some oil. After the massage, she as well asked me whether I liked to have company, and she did use the word ‘poking’ that has been pointed out earlier on this board. She used the phone in the room to arrange for _a pair of_ girls to come to the hotel. So, as opposed to Masseuse #1, Masseuse #2’s girls arrived in pairs to the room; the drill would then be I would choose one, give taxi money to the 2nd. Both would then go downstairs to reception, one to be registered, the other to get a taxi back.

*** The girls and some hopefully useful hints. Before I go through the girls, I thought it might be useful to share two observations. While all the girls are ‘working’ girls, they still did behave in a ‘shy’ way, certainly with me as a tall Caucasian. Also, as I do not speak Burmese and none of the girls spoke more than a few words of English, it was harder to communicate. I always find it worthwhile to make the girls feel at ease, and I found a couple of things that did work.

* Suite Room. The Panorama’s ‘Suite Rooms’ (40 US$, 25US$ for the regular rooms) have a seperate ‘living’ room, with some bamboo chairs, a table and a TV. The line between the ‘living room’ and the ‘bedroom’ made it clear that while they were in the living room we could get to know each other, eat and not immediately have sex. Cause they stayed for the night, we would later slowly find our way to the bedroom.

* Food. Same thing – you could share food with them, try to communicate, make them feel at ease – surprisingly, they could order tasty (Burmese) food from room service that was cheaper than anything on the menu.

* And finally - TV. Although it is a supposedly bad idea to give a Thai girl control of the remote, watching TV with a Burmese girl works. I found this out by accident: I did watch some really old James Bond movie when I was waiting for Girl #3, when she arrived we did order some food and continued to watch. Whenever things got tenser on the screen, she would be more tense; she was genuinely surprised by every special effect and afraid of all villains on the screen – and promptly would start to snuggle in my arms. I tested that with girl #4 – same effect – the girls are just not used to SFX.

OK, now really the list of girls – they got better each time. Or maybe I got better at making them feet at ease and they just responded.

*** Girl #1 (Masseuse #1).

Face 6/10, Body 7/10, Sex 4/10 – just some shy kissing and a CFJ.

Girl #1 seemed to be tense at first, then relaxed with some food. We went to sleep after having sex; when we both woke up an hour later, she declared she would like to leave – for some reason she seemed tense again, I did not succeed calming her down and she left.

*** Girl #2 (Masseuse #2).

Face 7/10, Body 6/10, Sex 6/10 – still shy, but more tender kissing and a CFJ.

At that point, I should have asked the stunner to join me the next evening, but I was still too tired and slow, so they both left – sigh.

*** Girl #3 (Masseuse #1).

Face 7/10, Body 8/10, Sex 7/10 – first shy, then started to french kiss, bang me and climax.

I did not really chose Girl #3, as she did not come in a pair but single. The tanaka paste in her face made me wonder whether she really was a working girl or just a regular girl. Again she loosened up, I did find out about the effect of SFX on Burmese girls and we went to the bedroom later.

At first, she did not respond to kisses and seemed to be one of the ‘missionary only’ girls. Somehow, she did respond differently and better to foreplay. Thanks for clarification on the security situation. Everything I have been reading says it's relatively safe, but I never let my guard down. Admittedly this is only hearsay (and added some drama to my dubious decision to follow a tout to unknow places; no problems this time, but I ran into annoying circumstances a few other times, in another country)); there is some mention of it in the LP guidebook, and some taxidrivers/touts also had similar stories, altho I suspect they did that to make me change my mind about the destination I wanted to go, and go to the places they had in mind (to get their cut) ... I didn't experience any trouble whatsoever, except maybe some minor overcharging.

I wouldn't worry about it, just know your destination, keep a low profile and be discrete when inquiring info about your hobby.
