Regarding economy. While malls reopened and most stores in the malls are open, foot traffic is 20% of normal (hence, not enough customers).

I just received a chat from one of my regular girls in Makati. She is now working again as a cashier in a Mall store after many months of no job. Made me remissness about her. Similar here in-country. At the start of the lockdown, when my regulars refused to leave their homes for any reason, I opened a dating site profile (first time in many years), just for some variety and to see what would happen. Regarding economy. Taxi's (and Grab taxis) are in desperation mode. At malls, they often line up 30 deep, before the mall opens, and wait a good chunk of the day for a customer. If you take note of the second or third car in line as you walk into a mall for an hour's lunch and grocery shopping, you might find that that car has moved up one or two spots as you leave. One driver recognized me as he'd taken me several places, from my hotel to a distant mall for groceries, or back. The normal price is about p160 each way. He gave me his phone number and offered to pick me up at my hotel anytime and take me there for p120. He said he would even wait for me to shop or lunch and return me to my hotel for p250. Things are tight. There is a fast-food kiosk in the mall hallways you have seen before, about 5 of them in the malls in town. Only 3 have re-opened, and of the previous 30-ish employees, 10 are now back working (and rotating days of the week, as in M / W / Friday or T / Th / Saturday). Construction guys same: of those who are working, its two weeks on, one week off (or alternately they rotate days of the week). Security guys at the malls, same.

Had my 50th trip to Phil and left end of Jan 2020 after 30 days. This trip went to Cebu, Tacloban, Samar and Davao. All good meetups. I usually go 4 times a year for a month each trip but now stuck in this pussy wasteland of course, with the only enjoyment of chats on filipino cupid, whatsapp, skype and FB. I'm doing the same thing you are, but I see it as lead generation, I just tell them to keep I touch and when this thing is all over they get a piece and I get a piece. I am really not in this for a love connection for me personally its all sex so I keep them on the hook by saying I will contact them whenever this is over. But I think we will have a much deeper and higher quality pool to choose from. Only the most dedicated will travel when phils opens back up. I think AC will get set back a few years but in my opinion those were the good ol days. The girls in Manila / AC weren't hungry enough and started to get full of themselves a scarcity of customers will bring back that GFE experience. And all this free time to generate leads wlll just lead to more women with whom I find attractive rather than just settling for Ms right now. The bars might also be stocked with better looking girls seeing as all the 300 k herd OFWs returning home with no contracts will be taking all the skilled labor jobs.

Yes, my experience with Juan was very positive on several trips but I raised them as a proof of concept rather than suggesting that specific airline. Yes, my experience with Juan was very positive on several trips but I raised them as a proof of concept rather than suggesting that specific airline. As you said, they can't be used anymore even if you want to. There are several more options available, even seaplanes to islands, if you do go ahead.

Air Juan actually gets horrible ratings seems to have a lot of unhappy campers that flew or lack there of, I guess moral of the story is don't ever expect a refund from Air Juan it looks like they are totally shutdown right now I wonder if they will even open back up. I'm glad you had a relatively good experience, this is something that is on my bucket list. I don't know if it will be with Air Juan but always good to have a few more options I didn't even know Air Juan existed.

They say that the flight time is cut down because there is no formal check in you show up and within 15-30 mins you are in the air. I know that the cost is what it is I'm not asking how to get to these destinations the cheapest (I know how to do that). Good post. I haven't taken the chopper MNL-CRK but I am a pilot and I have investigated the options. If you can afford it, then do it.

ABC does have a rooftop pad but I believe it is weight limited. I do know some customers who took the chopper option but their checked luggage came by road.

Your luggage weight for the smaller R44 will also be a problem if you have a few of you and 30 kgs luggage per person.

If you really want some aviation adventure PH style then consider a multi-stop trip around Luzon or the other islands. This is what I was investigating when I was there.

My bank account has since doubled again (and I expect it to keep doubling as long as this continues) since my last post the bull market lasted until the first week of this month so record levels of money being made and absolutely nothing to spend it on. People with money that do any kind of investing are making more money faster and easier than they ever have, on both sides of the market. So your Geneva scientist didn't actually run any experiments, he simply asserted that, because the mask is porous, it's ineffective. Assertions like that, even when they seem logical, don't carry a lot of weight when stacked up against empirical evidence. It strikes me there are perhaps three ways you could actually carry out an empirical study about mask effectiveness.

One, you could hold up masks in a laboratory, intentionally try to blow aerosol particles through them, and measure what gets through.

Two, from testing for covid positive cases you could try to assess what proportions of the positive patients had and had not faithfully worn masks in public. There are several difficulties with this approach. First, people lie, so their answers about mask wearing may not be entirely trustworthy. You would also need an estimate of the proportion of people in the general public wearing masks. If the proportion of positive test mask wearers is approximately the same as mask wearers in the general public, you can assume masks make little or no difference. If mask wearers among the positive testing individuals are a smaller proportion of positive cases as compared to mask wearers in the general public, then masks probably made a difference. This approach is also complicated by having to control for factors like social distancing, lockdowns, and so on.

A third approach is to compare infection rates between areas with and without mask mandates. This seems to be the type of evidence most of the "experts" on TV are citing. There are also some potential threats to validity in this design as well: differences in population density, differences in time of initial onset of spreading in particular settings and so on.

Bar tenders, cab drivers, and some scientists all have opinions, but evidence trumps (no pun intended) opinions.
