I think Nigeria is still a "boots on the ground" type of arena, but for those that might be looking for a certain type of provider, that's where social media comes in handy.

Per the digital game, it's just another avenue to find interested partners. Unlike some other countries, Nigeria doesn't really have notable online agencies and most of the action takes place like you rightly said, in bars, lounges, clubs and hotel bars. However, with social media, there's a growing number of providers that use various platforms to advertise.

I've begun compiling a small list of some providers I'd like to see once on ground. Takes some time digging through social media but I do think it yields better results.

The title was meant to indicate that even without truckloads of money it isn't an issue, that's my bad and apologies if it was misleading. And as you point out 10 k naira = 25 euro, yes its an international Forex transfer but not outrageous— not at all.

Zakmo— interesting comment on society umm wealth and status levels and who will be willing to be seen with me in public. I will keep it in mind and report back after extensive research and rejections Problem I have is that if they are breathing and still have a heart beat they are fair game so the survey results will be skewed. Maybe I play at the bottom end of the pool. More on that later.

About girls not wanting to hang out with white guys publicly that is true to an extent. The demographic of women that won't hang out with a white guy publicly are usually the well to do girls from good families that don't need provide to get by so to speak. The Semi-pros might be more lowkey about their engagements, where as the pros have no transgressions.

But yea, its a very straight forward country.

If you are only there for a couple of days tell them you will be there for a while. You will get a freebie. If you are there longer then Sooner or later they will ask for money for something. Clothes, food, help a friend, sick mother, house burnt down, have a sick ox and so on.

It does feel quite strange at first when you hear it said. Has happened to me just recently on a short visit and others report the same.

I'm wondering when you applied for a visa, did you have to interview at a Nigerian Embassy?

It has happened to me in 2016 at the Nigerian Embassy Rome.

They invited me for a kind of exam in front of a commission of three. The exam was in English, with a lot of questions: purpose of the travel, people that I know there, gifts that I was carrying, itinerary, and so on.

They gave me the chance to be bribed by me, when they saw from my passport that I was many times in Ghana. "Sir, so many travels to Ghana, you have a lot of money, plenty money, mmmh you have money, money, money. " looking into my eyes smiling.

At the end they stamped on my file the sentence "Unwished visitor" and told me that there was no reason for me to go to Nigeria or was hiding something to them. The visa fee was not refunded.

On the following year I gave all the papers to a Nigerian person and didn't go at all to the embassy. With a good bribe (250 Euro) I got my visa in 10 days.

Nope. No interview or phone call. But the company organised it all. Visa on arrival. VoA.

Make sure your name is correct on the yellow fever vaccination card. One guy I know got stopped from entering because his name had Zero instead of an O. Extreme case but it happened. They didn't even look at mine.

I did read on the site that they might call you. I have no idea about that.

I started using an agency with concierge to process the visa application but that went horribly wrong and I can't recommend them. They even lost all my documents I sent them. $$$ for nothing.

It might be worthwhile using them to get the paperwork correct as other guys have told me it can be quite a frustrating experience and maybe you have the same bad experience I did.

Nope. No phone call. Company organised it all. They didn't even check my yellow fever vaccination card. I did read that when applying personally for a VoA or a tourist visa they might call you. Sorry I can't tell you much more in that regard.

I did start going through a process of using an agency with a concierge that heavily promotes themselves on he net re: visas but their info is completely out of date regarding filling out the application for Nigeria. I can't recommend them as my experience was bad. They even lost all my info at one point and the consultants are basically rude know it all when they are, I think, travelling backpackers working temporarily.

You could try an agency, it costs. And maybe save you some heartache as Others have told me it can be a long drawn out process.

I know of one guy who just last week is having major problems getting his and now I have to go back.

Yea Benin City will be cheaper than Abuja or Lagos. 10 k will get you an over night stay with a good looking chick. 20 k+ is really for top tier chicks often times out of the "select" night clubs.

Saw a site called CodedRuns. Seems like it's one of the few legit online ad spots in Nigeria. I cross checked some of the ads by adding the numbers on Whats App to verify. They seem to check out. I'd imagine ground game is still the best but having an online option is nice, too.
