I've been to Thailand twice, both times for a month. The first time I sampled Bangkok (two weeks), Phuket (one week) and Khao Lak (one week). The last time (about a year ago now), I spent the entire 28 days in Pattaya (and chronicled the experience in a series of posts). About two years ago, I also spent a month in the Phillipines (Manila, Subic, Angeles and a few other places). For mongering purposes, Thailand is awesome and Pattaya, at its apex, is other-worldly.

If I was given a month to live and was obliged to spend it mongering in only one place, Pattaya would be the place. But I think (hope) I have a bit more time than that, so I'm looking to sample other destinations in the next few years in Asia, Africa and Latin America (and the Ukraine if it would just settle down). In Asia, Indonesia, and particularly Jakarta, currently sits at the top of my "hit next" list. Other Southeast Asian countries, Vietnam included, are hovering on the borderline of inclusion and exclusion. Since I've yet to hear anything that would draw me to Malaysia, it is probably now off the list.

Guidance from the Brotherhood please: I am gearing up for a 100 day city-hopping trip starting mid-January. I have drafted a plan that includes visits to Singapore, Indonesia (mostly likely five days each in Batam and Bali with a quick two day stop in Jakarta), Malaysia (mostly likely five days each in Kuching and Kota Kinabalu with a quick two day stop in Kuala Lumpur), Thailand (several locations in the south), Cambodia (Siem Reap, Sihanoukville and Phnom Penh for sure), Vietnam (tentatively two days in each of Saigon, Nha Trang, the Nang, Hue, Hanoi and three days in HaLong Bay for about 13 days in total, give or take a few depending.), Hong Kong, Macau and the Philippines (Angeles City, Puerto Galera and Boracay). Should be fun.

Having sketched out the plan and done a preliminary budget, I am now looking to refine and firm things up. I've been to Thailand, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Macau, but never to Vietnam. The place really intrigues me, and there is so much I want to see. Since this is the Vietnam forum, I was hoping to benefit from a little guidance from other experienced Vietnamese mongers. Although Saigon does seem to be the best place, by far, in Vietnam for mongering I'm not really keen on spending a lot of time in Saigon because of the heat and humidity. It's just not my thing. I love to get good and sweaty when I'm with a girl, but not so much when I'm girl hunting. I prefer beach locations, hence my interest in places like Nha Trang, the Nang, Hue, and HaLong Bay. The problem is, having looked at the reports here, it seems that the mongering scene is pretty limited outside of Saigon and to a lesser extent Hanoi. Even the massage parlors seem a little chaste.

I'd really appreciate in hearing suggestions from experienced mongers re: destinations in Vietnam that I should consider in order to make the Vietnamese portion of this trip a real success.

I'm going to work remotely in SEA for 4-6 months in January 2016. I've spent much time in there, especially the PH. I care more about find GFs than the hobby. I ten to fall to easy into hobby life when it's cheap and easy like the PH, but I'd rather do some "dating" IF I'm not getting blue balls during the proccess. In Vietnam all you have to do is put them on the payroll. Give them a monthly salary and they will be your GF. That's the way its done here if you want an attractive one, otherwise you'll be with the single mothers.

IME the 5-star places try hard to keep out working girls. When I return at night after going out, security literally runs towards me until they realize that I don't have a girl with me. When I have had a girl come up, I registered her as my 2nd guest (which requires you to know her full VN name and they will likely take a copy of her ID when she comes).
