Well things have gone a lot slower than I anticipated. I've had a tough time getting responses from Mileroticos. If there's anything going on in Progreso or Chelem, I utterly missed it (wouldn't be the first time either). As for chocolate, I tried a few bars of the stuff they sold at a Mayan chocolate shop in Parque Santa Lucia. It was delicious but pricey. Give that everything in Santa Lucia is over priced, including the hamburgers, I'm sure there's a better deal to be found. Oh, and I'll give Yemileth a try if she's still around. I liked the picture.

My advice is stick with Mileroticos. You can find chicas from 600 pesos to 2,000 pesos with most being between 900 and 1,600 for an hour. Currently its about 18 pesos to a USD. I've been back from Merida for a couple of days and have settled back into the daily rhythm of life, so now it's time to write my trip report and share what I learned about mongering in the Yucatan Peninsula. I hope everyone reading this post finds this information helpful!

1) Hotel. I was lodged at Hotel Casa Lucia:

Guys, this hotel is located right in the historic center of Merida, with numerous great restaurants a short walk away and the best money exchange "cambio" (a business called Efectivo) located right across the street from the hotel.

I interacted with three receptionists while at Hotel Casa Lucia: a woman (whose name I never got) and two guys, Alberto and Alan. For both of my mongering sessions, I told Alberto or Alan that I was planning on having a female friend in Merida visit me in my room at the hotel. Both Alberto and Alan said that wouldn't be a problem at all, so I can confirm that Hotel Casa Lucia is indeed chica friendly. I did notice a small sign posted near the reception desk that an extra guest staying the night in your room would incur a charge of around 257 pesos, more or less.

2) Phone. If you have an unlocked smartphone, you can purchase a SIM card and plan at the Telcel "Centro de Atencion a Clientes" in Merida, located at the intersection of Calle 59 and Calle 56, Number 496.

So what's the process of buying a SIM card and plan at that location? Walk in the front door of the business and approach the employee sitting at the small desk. Tell them you want to buy a SIM card and plan. They might ask you a question or two, and then they will give you a receipt with a number printed on it. The employee will circle the number and direct you to walk towards the booths on the left. Watch the plasma screen televisions for your number to pop up (it might take a few minutes) and when it does, go to the booth corresponding to your number. Approach the employee at your designated booth and tell them you want to buy a SIM card and plan. Regarding plans, I printed this chart out and brought it with me:

I chose the seven day plan for 50 pesos. The employee will ask you some personal information (your name and address) and will then enter the information into the computer. After this is done, the employee will print out two bills, one for the SIM card and the other for the plan. My two bills were 149 pesos for the SIM card and 50 pesos for the plan. The employee will take the bills and will escort you to the cashier on the left. Pay the two fees separately and accompany the employee back to the booth. He or she will then go to get the SIM card and will come back after a few moments. They will write your Mexico phone number on the small blue envelope containing your SIM card and then give it to you. Pop the SIM card out of the plastic perforation, stick it in your phone, turn on your phone, and you're all set. The word TELCEL will appear on the upper left or upper right part of your phone screen.

Keep in mind that you will have to make the SIM card and plan transaction by speaking Spanish. I speak Spanish and purchased a SIM card each of the two times I visited Guadalajara, so I was able to complete the business transaction in Merida with no problems.

3) Sessions. For both of my sessions, I used Mileroticos:
