What is it with hotels in BKK taking a refundable security deposit at the time of check in? I stayed at the Novotel Sukhumvit Soi 4 and they take 1000 THB per day, which works out to quite a lot of money and eats into your holiday budget.
Is it the same for the white folks here? not too sure maybe my Indian passport is the culprit!

I'm curious why there isn't that much info online about short time hotels.
Anyway, more specifically. Is Ruamchitt Plaza Hotel able to rent me a room for a like 2 hours in the middle of the day, like 5 pm?
I want to meet a girl I've met in the past, but I don't really want to bring anyone to the apartment I am renting so I am just checking my options. If not I will just book a normal hotel room I guess.

Only positive was the breakfirst, which is way better than most places I've visited.
It's probably guest friendly as I saw one or two girls who looked like prostitutes but it is mostly frequented by Asian famillies or Japanese guests (business men or retired gents who like to play golf).

Stayed last month, no issues bringing girls, no registration required (at least did not ask me).
Courtyard has better breakfast than aloft also newer renovated rooms in courtyard.

Ambassador is not recommended. Now I spend a few more baht and stay at other hotels.

A hotel I can reccomend for something a bit more upmarket is Maduzi Hotel.
Its about a <5 minute walk from Asok BTS just after the the Exchange Tower. V. close to Soi Cowboy if that is your preferred area.
Rooms are absolutely huge. Very large bed. Ceiling shower and jacuzzi tub. Girl friendly (although tbh I think this is a complete non-issue for all Bangkok hotels I don't get why people get so worried about it).
Only downside of it is its probably slightly too far to bring girls back from Nana and Thermae via walk. Would probaly need to get a Taxi back. Last time I stayed there I used TF and MPs which is why I can't advise on whether it is too far to walk from Nana and Thermae.
Another potential downside is the Breakfast isn't amazing (but perfectly acceptable). That isn't a big deal for me as I like going out of the Hotel for breakfast anyway but might matter for some.
As far as room experience though can reccomend!
