10 to 20 minutes depending on traffic. I don't know the pressing plans that you have on the north coast, but paying an extra $190 to save an hour and get there when nothing is really going on, hmmmm. It may have made more sense to just pay the price difference of a ticket to Puerto Plata instead of the capital.

The reason I'm not going into POP is timing and value. I can't make the afternoon flight on 12/30 into POP. I can make the 12/31 flight but then I am looking at a post 430 pm arrival. I then lose a prime Saturday night and a few hours early afternoon where I can be enjoying myself.

I have thought about flying into STI but my flight would land at 3 am which I don't think will allow me to clear customs and find a chica. Although I am open to a suggestion here if you have one.

Venezuela ave is your best bet all the clubs are elined up. I always end up at euporhia. Depends on the club but if your arriving during the weekday most of the clubs will close around 1-2, weekends around 4 ish. Not much choice for cases afteer 1-2 am. I know one or two are open until like 3 but forget which ones. Sd is not monger friendly so best to have plan be, see, and the. None of the clubs in sd are like kivar that have a mix of working girls and regular girls. Most of all the girls on venezuela are regular girls so your spanish better be on point if you want to leave with one. And if you have no car and only taxi its going to be harder to pull the girls but go ahead and try yull have a good time. Carbie tours and metro are both 10-15 min away with traffic. Carbie tours has a bus leave every hour, go to their website to get the schedule. Metro has 4 buses that leave a day. I take metro more than carbie because metro lets you buy the bus ticket a day in advance and they have outlets on the busses. Carbie does not let you buy in advance. So if you get to carbie on a busy day you might have to wait until the next bus or the bus after. By renting a private car, all you will save is an hour. A taxi will charge you $200-300 us to get to pp. You can uber it to pp from sd, cost about 140-180 maybe cheaper but not by much. Carbie and metro is only $10. So if time is that important to you that hour will cost you an extra 120-130. If you need to be there at 2 pm just take a bus and leave early in the morning. Depending on how slow the driver is and if he dosent get lost, it could wnd up being the same amount of time.

I'm not worried about my ability to pull a chica. I just need to get into the place where there is an "opportunity". The night I get into SD is Saturday the 30th. I feel pretty good that a Saturday non holiday night is going to be a good night out in SD.

This is going to be a great trip but with that said I am limited on time and trying to thread a needle to make the most of my available travel time. This all means I am looking at a Saturday night in Santo Domingo. This is where I need some advice.

My flight lands at Santo Domingo at around 11:30 pm local time. I have a girl I know from a past visit lined up already but I also need some adventure so I am considering punting on her or having her meet me out. My favorite place in all the years in the DR is a place like Kviar in Puerto Plata. I like the thrill of the hunt. I'm in my upper 30's and I am confident of my ability to pull from the clubs so we can save the keystrokes of telling me not to do it.

I know for sure the best place for me to stay is the Colonial Zone. Once on the ground in the colonial zone which I suspect will be close to 1-2 am what am I looking at? Are there discos and night clubs similar to Kviar that are open late (4-6 am) or am I looking at a casa type establishment. Help me out with this lay of the land. I need the name of a few places I should target that are going to provide an atmosphere like Kviar but also where I am not going to get slashed or hassled by touts all night. I may also consider meeting the chica I have lined up there as well. I don't want a place that closes early. I am there to party all night this first night.

In addition the next morning I intend to head to the north coast to Puerto Plata. Time is going to be of the essence. If I am in the Colonial Zone how close is the metro station for me to grab a bus to Puerto Plata? Not sure, but that New Years weekend is popping usually dead in the DR at that time not like the states everybody spends time with their families. If not mistaken, clubs close early. You can try eurphoria on avenue venezuela similar to kviar in puerto plata. Again, it is slow during that time. Opposite of the states people spend time with their families country tradition. I was there last year atMNJ that time, but with a chick. Nothing was popping! Best bet punta is punta cana. More american style. I warning pp sosua will be dead....
