I got a quote for $600 for a month on Laguito for an apartment for this month starting May 4. Been in the building a few times with the same lady. I think I can do a lot better once I get there. Another guy paid $350 a month back in March when he rented a place for a month and a half.

A friend last year rented a place for several months in Laguito. He paid a million a month, but the place was not air conditioned. There was no hot water, either. But hot water is not absolutely necessary in CTG. You will probably not find anything livable for less. If you want AC, you will probably look at at least 250K per month more. I lived in Laguito for 4 years and could not have survived without AC.

Your best bet for cheap rentals is just show up and ask the porteros at Playa Mar, Marinare, Mirador del Laguito, Torre Centauro, Antares, and Torre Marina. Cheaper yet is Cristoforo Colombo and Tocahagua. Avoid El Conquistador. Some of the other buildings are marginal. Don't just show up during high season.

I read a report on another board. Somone really must require a lot of handholding to use a service like this. The others are right about it being too expensive. They pick you up at the airport and take you all over tonw. They do not want you to realize you spent way too much.

Interestingly the site states that the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition was shot in Cartagena this year. I didn't know that.

Ah... so your post at least broadened my knowledge a bit and made for some good photo looking. Gabriella is right down my line. Perhaps one day I will return to Cartagena. If so, I'll find her myself for free :-)

I agree with you Jelly Donut, the amount of money proposed to be sent is absurd..... It would take me 4 months of mongering every day ( making assumptions), to spend $10,900 on chicas in CTG, in fact probably more like 5 months. Guys like this drive to market price way up. They should be talked to, that is if you can knock any sense into them........

Mid-May is a very slow time. You could rent a very nice place on the beach, and go to La Dolce Vita every night. Pay whatever they ask. You will save over 50%.

Trippstadt is the 900 pound guerrilla of spenders. There's an exchange between him and David 33 on the Dominican thread from January. Trippstadt was able to spend $10,900 in less than a week in the Dominican Republic. Poor David 33 was like "I´ve written and erased three comments on Trippstadt´s posts. This is so unbelievable that there is nothing I can say to express my horror". Or most everyone else's horror for that matter. Trip seems very set on spending the cash.

I did not even think you could find a way to spend this sort of money in Colombia, so I guess I can just watch and learn while this unfolds. It does boggle the mind. You could just walk into LDV and take the 3 top girls with no negotiation 300.000 COP x 3 girls x 6 nights = $2,562

It would be even harder in DR. I lived there for 6 months in Sosua and didn't even spend that much on housing, girls, food and booze the whole time I was there. It only costs $25-30 to get laid in DR in a lot of places.

2 out of 3 ain't bad but I reckon the beaches suck.

The beach in Bocogrande are poor but remember they are not dirty , it is the flow of the river over thousands of years that has discoloured the sand with mud or rust and other sediments. The city cleans the beach every night with tractors and manpower. I know because of my tax bill.

If you want to experience turquoise blue water and white sand head over to Playa Blanca and you will think that you are in the islands.

Boat trips go over their daily and you can drive by heading out of the city past the terminal and refineries and you will end up in a small village with a ferry to cross the river.

Continue on a dirt road for another 10 or 12 kms and you come to Playa Blanca. Great place,great beach,superb swimming and good fresh food barbecued straight out of the ocean. Fresh shrimp, oysters,corn and a lot of other Colombian delights.

You can take your LDV girl there for the day and take her into 4 feet of turquoise blue water 30 feet off sure and fuck her silly while you watch me on the beach doing the day at the beach family outing trip.

She will love you for it and your overall cost will be a lot less because this is a treat for her rather than sleeping in her lodgings all day.

IMHO go to Cartagena because its a cool city, and fair beachs, and an interesting place.

2 out of 3 ain't bad but I reckon the beaches suck.
