It all depends where you end up over there as Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and other places are not bottom of any barrel. Not really looking to "save" any poor woman as it maybe a lady that has done OK for herself and would want an American man? Sadly, yes, Senor. Viva la Mexico! I will be moving to Philippines when I retire in two years. With annual trips to USA, Caribbean, South America and other parts of SouthEast Asia. It's nearly impossible to get laid in USA without spending big bucks on relatively low-service providers. I have been to Tijuana probably 20 times.

I retired early here in southern San Diego county from San Francisco bay area. My observation here is generally much better compared to San Francisco. Better warmer climate, renting apartments is cheaper, less crime, less homeless, I've never seen drug dealers like in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco. Food not expensive and an abundance of cheap vegetables and fruit straight from Mexico also restaurants: Mexican, Asian, lots of tacos places. People here speak English or Spanish which is good. The beaches of Imperial Beach, Coronado are pleasant maybe the water too cool compared to Waikiki. Clothes: the climate is warm, you only need short pants and a T-shirt or a jacket in winter. Weed is legal on the US side, legal prostitution on the Mexican side. Also close to Tijuana, Indian casinos, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. If I am to retire elsewhere, I heard it is good: Rosarito, Ensenada, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta or Panama, Costa Rica, Portugal, Spain but I don't know all these places yet. My requirements for retirement are modest: beach, palm trees, chicas also maybe cold beer and tequila.

I think its a pretty lame viewpoint that is going to bite your friend in the ass once his Viet / Pinay wife moves to the USA and adopts American habits. By then she will be Asian only in looks and will demand everything an American woman wants. How about she stays in Asia? LOL what the hell is she marrying an American then?

Who said anything about moving her back to the USA? That is an obvious disaster. Any foreign chick brought back to live in the USA will be quickly and completely poisoned by their new American influences.

I disagree with Scott hall for the most part and maintain that you will find what you look for better or worse. I do believe the Filipinos are among the nicest people I have met in 25 countries I have visited but there are always exceptions.Cheers.

Yes it is a big move but I have been planning for awhile. Actually I lived in pi in the 80's when I was military altho much has changed Filipinos remain sweet and domestic and lovely but be careful because many do have a penchant for lying and deceit. They are not known for their. Intelligence either. Case in point while working in Vietnam a viet girl summed it up nicely: filipinas are sweet but stupid. What if your ex wife or GF, who you are in love with dumps you, and goes down the street to bang 10 guys a day for 2 grand a day? Meanwhile she wouldn't let you bang her more than once a week.
