Border has always been open. I drove over a couple times. Nobody checked or impeded our movement. Very few policia patrol cars were around La Zona.

Bars opened up on Friday night. HK was operating as a restaurant. They want you to sit at a table and order food, not wandering. But of course nobody enforced the rules inside the club.

Adelita was open for business Friday night. Door guy checked my face temperature and welcomed me in about 6 PM.

The bar was empty and very dark inside. There were 1 stripper on stage and 3 others sitting at the bar with 3 guys. Nobody was near the stage watching the stripper.

It was boring so we left quickly.

You can get more info on other threads. Baja locks down at night. Zona Rosa all but closed as are bars and restaurants throughout Baja. Expected virus to peak soon. Cops reportedly shaking down Calif plates more vigorously as money is tight.

Crossing into Mexico I understand requires a good reason, such as a prescription. I cross easily both ways as I have USA Passport and Mex Residence. But others have been concerned. Little or no wait time going South, significantly reduced wait North depending on time of day. Check CBP wait times website. Original lockdown in Mexico was May 15. Now I understand that date has been extended to the end of May. Best stay home for now.

Keep in mind that if you DO make to Tijuana, you can take advantage of some spectacular deals. The exchange rate is at an all time high, that coupled with chicas having almost no money coming in at the moment. If you play your cards right you can get a lot of bang for your buck at the moment. Plus you'll be boosting the local economy.
