What have they seen all of their lives growing up? Money being sent home to parents from the kids to support the family, their family and all of the families around them. I think the reasons are (in a random order):

1. It costs money. And we all know how short on cash they usually are.
2. The catholic church preaches abstinence, unless people are married (to each other!). So the pill or any other form of contraception, like condoms, should not be needed.
3. Contraception is for prostitutes and other sluts.

Yes, BBFS is the default position but I'm not so sure about CIP. I always ask beforehand if they are willing to go BB and the majority agrees to that provided that I don't CIP.
And if they agree without saying anything about CIP, then I ask them during our session. If I want to CIP anyway, because for me that's not so important.
