Posts: 566The Socialists have to form a coalition with other parties, none of them who don't care or opposes the abolition of prostitution IIRC, including the more left wing Podomos. Their proposals in "reducing" prostitution is watered down from early ones from what I read on another forum. I think they going to focus more on street walkers like in France.

Prostitution was never a big part of the culture just before the Nordic Model passed in Sweden, Norway, France and Ireland, as can be documented by the lack of "reports" from those countries through the history of the Internet. Canada is a little bit different, in that Montreal and Toronto has huge scenes, but rural Canada did not. Canada is the most interesting case study by far, given the power of the police, who simply issued a limited enforcement bulletin with respect to Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver after the Nordic Model passed, and life went on without much difference. Rural Canada was, and is, a different story.
Prostitution is a bigger part of the culture in Spain, and personally that makes me doubtful of the passage of the Nordic Model. I think there would more likely be some type of law change that might be harmful to the larger licensed brothels in Barcelona, and the big, well known "nightclubs" full of sex workers such as Vive and the well-known places along the French border. That is just speculation, of course, but abolitionists most easily attack what can be seen by the public.
I doubt even that will happen, but if it does, fortunately Spain has a very strong independent escorting scene and groups that share trick pads and operate via appointment. Even with a Nordic Model, this is an activity that is extraordinarily difficult for the police to stop. The only technique is harassment of guys entering and exiting a building, which would not appear to be widely accepted in Spain. It is highly unfortunate that this is accepted by the public in Ireland and Northern Ireland, and I can't help but wonder if it is an unfortunate legacy of the IRA and the United Kingdom. The apparatus to monitor people also exists more heavily in London, from what I have read, than in most free countries, so the Nordic Model would be deeply troubling in the United Kingdom. More so, in my opinion, than in Spain, where there is little or no acceptance of police questioning pedestrians.
This is a topic not discussed as much as it should be. Law enforcement and monitoring. As opposed to the actual passage of laws. It amazes people who come from areas where hotel entry is highly restricted that commercial sex is so easy for participants to engage in where johns and sex workers can easily traverse through a hotel without being molested. This has been the saving grace in the United States, where full criminality exists. Fortunately, most every hotel and apartment complex in Spain is guest-friendly, unlike huge portions of South America and Africa.
I find attacks on advertising and internet discussion more damaging to the future than laws like the Nordic Model. Spain has three major message boards and more advertising venues for commercial sex than can be listed. The only countries where laws against advertising and discussion have had a major detrimental effect on the scene are France and the United States (the recent Fosta / Sesta). And I haven't seen proposals by Spain's Socialists to restrict free speech along with the proposed Nordic Model, although that is certainly a worry with Socialists, the inventors of All Animals are Equal, But Some are More Equal than Others.

Posts: 154Client Criminalization A Strong Possiblity In The Near Future?
The recently elected Fake Socialists in Spain seem to be hell bent on criminalizing punters, forcing the sex trade underground and thereby making life hell on earth for sex workers!

This is an extremely worrying development as Spain was one of the prime areas to indulge in our hobby / work.
Obviously, these thundering AHs will have to govern in a coalition but some likely partners E. G. The Catalans have members with a similar mindset.

Hi folks,
Is there any sex party or gangbang scene in Spain similar to The Phoenix Party in London or Erlebeniswohnung or Anni Porsche in Berlin?

Talking about freedom, calling a socialist politician a fascist, in a country where so many people have suffered and died under fascist, right wing dictatorship is quite an insult.
P.S. Even if the PSOE's and PSC's historical names include the word socialist, they are not exactly socialist, but modern social democratic parties. And FYI, I have never voted for any left wing party, but you should do some reading before you start throwing words like fascist in Spain.

This increases the likelihood that his wife will see the citation. It is a shit move by the city.
But outcalls are legal and if all of the solicitation of sex is done behind closed doors (not in public) there is no crime. So I think your summary was misleading.
Solicitation on the streets is illegal in Barcelona. We have always known that. But when prostitution occurs in a non-public setting (no solicitation on the streets) it is not illegal, regardless of whether it is incall or outcall (even to a private home).

It says that the town council of Gav (Barcelona) is planning to impose fines on home outcalls. Do you think it will be implemented throughout the country? What are your thoughts about this measure?

Posts: 1070Knife-wielding prostitutes turn tourist hotspot into crazy town
https://nypost.com/2018/06/06/knife-...to-crazy-town/
Knife-wielding sex workers who rob European tourists have turned a popular tourist town into a no-go zone.
Magaluf is a hot spot in Spain frequented by young people from around Europe who take advantage of the city's cheap alcohol and raucous nightlife, according to The Daily Mail. The prostitutes — who are said to lack the proper documents to live in Spain and apparently end up in Magaluf through Nigerian crime groups — lure the tourists away from bars and restaurants with the promise of sex. The vacationers are then ambushed by either men or groups of other women and robbed; the sex workers also group around drunken men and pickpocket them while they are distracted.
Alexander Khviadkhevya, from Belarus, is one such victim who explained to The Mail about how money was stolen from his wallet.
"I was walking with my friend and these girls surrounded us and offered us oral sex," he said. "I turned them down but this girl then put her hand into my pocket and took my wallet. I managed to get the wallet back but the money was gone. ".
The Mail reports that these prostitutes told Spanish authorities they are trafficked by gangs out of poverty in Nigeria and Senegal to cities like Barcelona and Valencia. Then, gangs send them to Majorca to target tourists.
"You could offer these girls any job and they wouldn't take it. They are told what to do and they do it," a Nigerian toilet attendant told The Mail.
A British bar owner, from London, who asked not to be named, told The Mail that the robberies are so routine that "bar owners won't bother sending (police) . Footage anymore" of any thefts caught on video.
The robbers "take advantage of the fact that most tourists happily interact with the street-sellers and are not at all wary of them. ".
For years, as Fox News previously reported, Magaluf has been both a moneymaker and major headache for officials in the area.
A Facebook page was set up called "Cleaning Up Magaluf," which, The Mail reported, has more than 2,600 members, and posts regular updates on where the prostitutes gather.
Using the Facebook page, organizers set up a protest that saw about 100 of them confront the sex workers.
Five protesters, who were British expats, were arrested and charged with hate crimes after about 20 Nigerian prostitutes filed reports with police accusing them of insulting, assaulting and filming them in an effort to harass them. The assaults, the women say, included pepper spray and being beat up, requiring some of them to seek medical treatment, according to several published reports.
The protesters said they were furious that police went after them, and not, as they described it, the real law-breakers. They have vowed to continue protesting throughout the summer when crowds at the party town swell.

Posts: 76Feminism is, (luckily), ever-present in Spain and contrary to what the people think, escorts' customers like us have a great respect for their profession, but the prejudiced society thinks the opposite about us.
Now that there is a debate going on about changing the law against assaults, do you think these services will once again be controversial in Spain?
