Folks with COVID continually impacting what is open I was hoping for some up to date information since I will be in CTG Thursday. We have stayed within the Old City on our past 2 trips, but are looking to find some local venues. If anyone could provide current information on what houses, strip clubs, and massage parlors are open and any recommendations on spots not to miss it would be greatly appreciated. Also, we would love to know about any bars beyond Space, Vita and Delirium in the Old City or Getsemani with free lancers that are open or have any action at this point. Thanks.

Do you know anything about retiring there and paying taxes? It seems a lot of people only stay 6 months to avoid the tax issue. I spoke to a lawyer. She said we would have to see what the situation was when I actually retire because it changes constantly.

You wrote many reports, but apparently never read the CTG thread. NO DECENT HOTELS (say from 3 stars up) are girl friendly in CTG, neither they are anywhere in Colombia. Search the thread and you'll find many reports about this.

You will NEVER bring easily a girl to your hotel room, unless you pay an exorbitant amount to see her admitted, if she was not registered with you on checkin.

I write this also here, hoping that people finally stops asking the same.

In CTG, you should either hire a girl friendly apartment (most are not) or will have to go to hotels or to motels. Period.

I know you are well respected in the forum, but I have to say that this is incorrect info. I just got back from a 8 day stay in Laguito in a luxury hotel bldg. 24/7 security. There were restrictions to the visitor policy, like no one after 5:30 am. During the day you're good. All visitors have to be registered. No extra fee was needed, just had to deal with their crazy rules.

But thank you for all the info you and the other vets have given on this site. For my next trip I will try an apartment. My best advice to others, ask the firms which hotels don't charge or are easy to bring visitors. I got my list from the working girls. The list includes hotels they say are OK. I also asked the guys who were guided to others.
