If he emigrated to the United States, he could presumably get an account with Schwab and in 600 years the savings on ATM fees would pay for the cost of emigrating to the US.

Thanks JjBee. Exactly. I'm Canadian and you cannot get that type of a Schwab account here, nor can I open a US account without being a resident of the US. I wish I could. We have no equivalent deal in Canada.

I'm going to be in Bogota next week. I'll be taking a Woodman tour my first day. He has been a great contact thus far.

I have a few questions still after ready back two years of the forum.

1. From what I understand Uber no longer works in Bogota. So does that mean I need to use the Easy Taxi or Cabify apps that have been discussed? Do these apps work like Uber? I like taking a taxi most of the time as I find it inexpensive.

2. On that note it seems its easier just to leave the airport in a normal taxi downstairs. This should cost 30 k to Santa Fe correct?

3. I have always been fascinated by the Choco region. It is supposedly the most impovereished part of Colombia and the majority of people there are black. In this vein are their any black girls working the streets in Santa Fe? I'd love to find one from Choco.

4. From what I had read the best place to use the ATM when you first arrive (I will not use an ATM on the street) is the Colpatra / Davividena ATM at the airport across from Migration. Is this still true and what part of the airport is this ATM in?

5. Is the Tantra Spa still open? This place appears to be near Abu Dubai Spa so ID like to do both when I am in the area.

6. Where can I get the small bills necessary to pay exact?

7. I've got a thing for preggos or lactating girls. Are they to be found among the Santa Fe SW's? One board member in Medellin connected me with a girl there and although I won't being her down she keeps sending me videos of her pumping glasses full of milk in an effort to get me to bring her to Bogota. 8. If I want to leave Santa Fe at night where is the best place to use the taxi apps to get a taxi? Everything I read says Uber and others will not come to Santa Fe.

10. Given the ridiculous cost of prescription drugs in the USA ID like to bring back some Amoxicliin. Can anyone recommend any other medicines worth buying and bringing back? Am I allowed to bring these medicines back to the USA?

Where are you seeing this? I do not see this at all. But it means permit for temporary stay or extend stay.

Not looking for beef, and I just want to provide some firsthand info. I've been using Schwab internationally (including Colombia) for over a decade now. They always reimburse my ATM fees at the end of the month.

Schwab also gave me money when I was stranded abroad. Not a loan. Nothing needed to be paid back. They simply helped out a longtime customer and gave me a sizable amount of cash.

I have nothing against Schwab. But it only works if you are from the United States. That was my point on the Shwab comment.

The entire train wreck that Colombia has perpetrated on the Colombian people and the world for that matter has just about wore me out. My girl went through hell and back in Colombia to get a few hour flight to Miami. The bull shit to get to Miami was nothing short of a miracle, with Lopez and the entire gang that can't shoot straight. First, Bogota to Ctg, paper work up the ass, temperatures at least 4 times before getting on the first plane. Get in the airport, get out of the airport, get back in the airport, fill out the app, No luggage carts allowed, no bathrooms allowed, no food, no WATER, on and on. Finally when she gets to Miami, we begin to feel normal, we can piss, we can have a bottle of water, we can use a luggage cart, and guess what, nobody got covid from taking a piss! The only problem was again, caused by Colombia. The PCR test we had to lose a whole day and $189 to show the test to Colombia, the DR didn't have to and neither did dozens of other countries. So we had a great time, beautiful weather, restaurant's were open, our pool was open other than losing and entire day traveling from Marco Island to Miami to get the Huppty Do PCR test for over $200 just to get back into Colombia by a COLOMBIAN National. The vacation was great. Now its my turn, I will go and get my PCR test on Friday to be within the 96 hours of my flight on Monday. But I have noticed a lot of things are still closed, Now I am beginning to check out the Apps-Migration and I read this. WTF does this mean on the form.

I went to a few clubs yesterday. Fiebre, and one next door to paisa. Also went to la 49 (closed) and pussy house (it looked closed but someone popped out and stopped us as we where leaving). There line up is miles away from lidos. Miles. No taxi knew about Olimpos.

"If" is the key word in that statement. I use MT bank, and my last exchange was 6% off XE's quotes. It might not be the rock bottom, but it's in the ballpark, and it's already in my pocket when I arrive. No searching, no dicking around. Plus, I spend a lot more time in remote areas than I do in cities, that's where the adventure is (getting girls is only a part of my trips). So, if I'm connecting through to a little airport, I'd rather have cash in pocket, than hope I find an ATM in transit. That's me. If someone is spending all their time in a city, then they'll have time to look around for the best option. Let's face it though, a lot of guys on here are living off old money, and they're still cheap as shit. It boils down to what your time is worth and where you're going.

Don't know what bank you deal at. But when I checked the exchange rates at my bank they were taking over 10%. No way I'm going for that. I do the ATM machines usually Scotia / Colpatria if I can find one that will dispense the cash. And when I do the max withdrawal it works out to around 3-4 percent. That includes my $5 foreign transaction fee at home, the currency conversion they use (my bank sets that I think at 2. 5% and the 12 -15 K peso ATM charge. From my country that's the best that can be done as far as I know. Even if I have a Scotia account at home. Bastards. That's on 900 K pesos.

Anyway, the moral of the story is check what you're actually getting. They say, oh, we don't charge a fee. But they give you some phony "bank exchange rate" that is 2. 5% off the mid-market quoted rate for that day.

3. Fascinated with Choco department, how come? Yes, there are black girls in Santa Fe. They're usually the only ones I screw. However, I never asked if they were from a specific department. There is a higher concentration of Afro-Colombians near the Pacific coast all the way down to Narino, not just Choco. If you really are into those types of girls, just go there. Most of the guys on these forums are city-hoppers, not travelers, but trust me, it's worth venturing out. Or, go right to the source of their roots: west Africa. From experience I can tell you, you'll have a high exotic factor. As for the most impoverished area in Colombia, just start heading southeast from Villavicencio, they're worse off than the Pacific coast.

6. Go to your bank and order the money. That's what I do, and I've rarely had to use an ATM, and never a money changer. You can also ask for a mix of denominations. The exchange rate is in the ballpark of money changers in the country, the difference is, it'll save you a lot of hassle.

8. There are multiple, and cheap places to stay around Santa Fe if that's where you're going to spend your time. I just walk back to my hotel. The area is very easy to get around. Just cross the tracks, and loop around the next couple blocks, very straightforward.
