For me the best in Nicaragua is Managua, and Corn island.

Never done MGA but La Aurora in Guatemala City is fairly new and modern. It seems underutilized and if you get there early for a flight it can have an almost abandoned feel. There are plenty of taxistas and metro buses or rental cars are also airport options. There is a bank branch on the way to immigration to purchase quetzales if needed. First you stop for a tourist card and having purchased that proceed to customs. The usual crush of latin american families surround the exit ramp with public transport just past the throngs. I've always arrived mid-day to connect with bus transport to las afueras so I'm not sure what a late arrival might find.

Posts: 3359Thanks, John. The flights I am looking at aren't late at night, I think around 6 PM. Ballpark taxi fare if I decide to go that route?

This is a country that no Spanish means not much progress in doing anything.
I guess anything is possible with a girl from a bar like Good Times or Fenix if you had an intermediary and a lot of money.
I always wonder about these sorts of posts. No language skills (I speak very little = none other than a few numbers, yes, no and please) and let's grab us a filly for a week or so and stare at each other or chat one word at a time on a translator or dictionary.

Posts: 3359Mongers: I am seeking information about the Guatemala City airport versus the Managua airport. I will be using miles so which one is cheaper to fly into does not matter. I seek info about cost of ground transportation and general pain in the assedness associated with these two airports. Ease of in and out, degree of rundownedness, this type of thing.
Thanks!
