I did walk past mctoo. Decided to check it out tomorrow. Found this a other place club 22. Pretty close to Mc. 70 bucks entry 1 drink.

50 reals no drink.

There were like 5-6 girls. No one above 7. One chick spoke English. Rooms available to take the girls 20 minutes 130,30 mins 150.200 for the hour. Spoke to a few girls, had my drink and left. Really not worth a visit.

Pretty sure Club 22 is the place above the bar / restaurant Cevada (which means Barley, I believe. As in the beer ingredient) on the corner of Siqueira Campos and the side of the square (that starts on Nossa Senhora) closer to the beach. There's a small entry door with a fligth of stairs from the street up to the place above the Cevada bar. It's kind of and has always been a dump. If you walk from the corner of Nossa Senhora & Siq Campos along Siq Campos on the side of the square, at the corner of the square with the next small street, it's right across the street above Cevada.

Head out earlier today to check out massage joints near by. Copa massagem was pretty close by so headed there. But just couldn't find the place! Found 162 and then 170 but 169 was out of my understanding. Tried asking around but no luck there either.

I slid ended up passing by Copa Massagem Monday night after receiving info of a promotion of 30 minutes 1 girl for 100 reais, 30 minutes 2 girls 160 reais. It's at the corner of Siqueira Campos and Rua Tonelero. If you're walking from Av. Nossa Sra and arrive at the corner, there is a restaurant on your left. Walk to the Left on Tonelero passing the restaurant and another open spaced business (I forget what it was as I was looking for 169). There's a door on the left just inside of a small walkway. Ring the bell and the door unlocks, walk upstairs. It's the only occupant behind this door. And you're in there. The address is actually above the door maybe 20 or steps past the restaurant. There were only two girls there so I passed. The guy at the reception desk says they would have 9 girls today as it's their usual count.

I decided to just rest today though. No massage parlor, no termas, no drinks. Mentally winding down to get on that plane.

I'm hoping and praying the Real drops to 5 to 1.

If I had a real for every time you have posted about the exchange rate hitting 5-1, I would have a beachfront apartment in Leblon. Its no secret the economy is in horrible shape but 5-1 ain't happening (I would love to see that however and will buy you a bucket of beer if it does) The exchange rate could drop again into the 2.5-1 range if oil prices rise again.

Or when they open up a night club like Help.

Help is not coming back and I doubt anything similar will open. I loved the place just as much as you but it ain't coming back despite you posting about it many times.

And Flights are cheap again. I don't understand how I can get a cheap flights to Columbia for $300-$400 and Flights to Brazil are almost $1,000 and Columbia and Brazil is not to far from each other and on the same continent.

In May I flew from NYC to Bogota, Colombia it was about a 5. 5 hour flight. A week later I went from Bogota, Colombia to Rio and it was a 6 hour flight. They are not as close as one would think and that would help explain why it costs more to fly down to Brazil.

Yes somethings cost a lot more during the Olympics like lodging especially. But my are / t airfare was less than $1000 (but it was booked months in advance) the girls at Delirio were the exact same 200 real, an escort girl I saw in February charged me the exact same 350 real. MC was a bit expensive. My favorite churrascuria in Leme had the exact same price. Sure the Olympics were more expensive for somethings, the traffic sucked, the venues were below average, but nobody parties like the Cariocas do. Cupid and SA chicks were sending so many messages that you just had to delete girls because of no time. I also got to see Phelps swim, was 10 feet away from Usain Bolt, was in Maracana when Brazil won the gold. Moments like that made the $2000 for an apartment seem like a steal to me.

What time period were you seeing $500-$600 airfare and the Real 4 to 1? Was it in the last year? With continuing cheap oil, let's hope there is a downward trend for international airfares.

The last time I remember fares that low was the early 2000's. The Real hit 4 to 1 in 2002 I believe. I don't know why, but airfares were very low for several years back then. Now I seem to see on the USA -Brazil flights a lot of Brazilians who live in the USA Traveling back home.

Yes I can agree with steel on this earlier this year in April found tickets on Azul airline for $526.00 from Fort Lauderdale to Rio de Janeiro Santo Dumont airport which is closer to Zonal Sul, I may also note that I flew from the Bahamas connecting in Fort Lauderdale to Rio de Janeiro for $731.00 are / T. Believe it or not at one point in December 2015 flights had drop to $560 are / T from Nassau to Santo Dumont airport just wasn't prepared to make the trip. I am hoping to see those fares again for my vacation in October I am prepared right now LOL.

Well I just walked past MABS sometime back. Its open. But looks like a very regular bar restaurant. Families, couples just spending some time in there. Am I getting something wrong here? Or because of the holiday they aren't bringing the girls out.

Passing by MC right now. As usual the music is low and not so great. There are a few lookers in here though depending on what you like. There are about 23 girls, 12 guys. None of the girls are really making conversation. However there is one guy playing kiss face with a girl in the boate area, while 8 girls stand in the center of the floor swaying side to side and off beat. There are 5 blondes, 6 morenas with nice round assets, a couple of thin but somewhat sexy chicks, one sarada, and the others are "meh". Maybe there are others upstairs.

Not as crazy in here by any means and now the Olympics are over I don't foresee it getting too much better as the weeks go by where patrons are concerned. But again, it's a holiday here. Stopped by for drinks and to look but if this liquor taps me on my left shoulder and have that talk with me there is going to be a good fight upstairs in a cabin.

Thanks for the update/reporting. Monday is typically a bad day to hit Termas, especially today with it being the holiday as you noted. I'd say the Olympic crowds are down to about 25% of what they were, judging by what I just saw on the streets walking home. I hope they all GTFO by the end of this week. And therefore Centro too will go back to normal, now that this holiday BS has passed.

Usually prime Termas days are Tues-Thursday, less so on Friday (but Friday = good for those of us who don't have to go home to wifey). Saturday is rough especially during Summer but if you get there after 7pm you'll be OK, any earlier is useless on a Saturday.

I don't know Uruguay is almost at the bottom of south America and way more far from Rio and I can get flights for $600-$750. I think it has to do with the Airlines Paying a Huge Brazilian Tax. So I guess they pass that tax onto us and also currency I guess. When the Real was 4 to 1, I remember Rio Flights were $500-$600.

After watching the ceremony lsst night headed to check out 4 x 4. But was closed. Headed to rua maio earlier in the afternoon and they were closed too. Looks like no action till Tuesday after all.

With a flight to Colombia being in that low of a price range, have you looked into having Bogota as your connection? With at least a few weeks planning you should be able to find something fairly reasonable. I agree that direct flights from the States haven't been looking great on the fares, Connecting via Bogota may be another option. Flight 261 would be the way to go. It's how I got here. Flight wasn't bad - 6 hours and they fed us twice. We were on the ground right at 6 am at Galeão. The only other airline coming in that early from South or Central America was Copa from Panama. Depending on which part of the States you're coming from either of those could be something to look at for comparison against direct flights from US carriers. Sure it may add a couple of extra hours to the flight but if cost is the bigger factor, what say Ye?

One thing I've noticed here is that a few mention, distance in comparison while others mention ticket costs but with (what appears to be) so many frequent travelers, no one has mentioned airline mileage rewards to get them here. Are we not collecting miles fellas?
