For me the logic to say that the vaccination is the solution of all the problems and when 80% of the population will be vaccinated, life will come back to what it was end of 2019, needs at least to be challenged. Is the situation better than 6 months ago? No, not better.

But since the date of the first vaccine given, yes, it's gotten better.

7.8 deaths per million on first vaccination (21-Dec-2020) and 6.26 deaths per million this past week.

Compare to vaccinated UK:

6.28 deaths per million on first vaccination (08-Dec-2020) and 0.5 deaths per million this past week.

Or Israel.

2 deaths per million on first vaccination (24-Dec-2020) and 0.76 deaths per million this past week.

It is better in both UK and Europe, even better in heavily vaccinated UK and Israel. Vaccines can't be the only solution, but they sure seem to be pretty effective so far. Even if boosters are needed, at lease there's a way out of this mess.

I don't expect to get back until very late this year or even this time next year. The vaccination fiasco only continues as the EU is falling even further behind as cases climb. I have three weeks booked off work for the end of the year intending to go to Thailand but they are now experiencing a surge in cases, Germany was my second choice but that's looking less likely. I can only wait and see if countries that I would want to go to will open up.

You should look about what is happening now in India, second largest population in the world, they use a lot of Remdisivir which is a terrible medicine creating a lot of variants. I don t believe this will not impact negatively the covid situation in the world.
