I watched several of David's videos in the past and he is based mainly out of Medellin. Definitely a good tip and he almost could not come out to say it the last minute of his video. In short, he hinted that if you guys just want to have sex, there are places like casa that are in fact safer than just bringing random girl from the bar who are eager to follow you back to your hotel or AirBnb.

In summary,

1) There are no hookup culture in Colombia, do not expect to get lucky as any eager girls are always up to something. Always approach with huge caution and suspicion.

2) Look out for any unattended drink which will give the girl opportunity to roofie you. Drink from a bottle that is opened in front of you if possible. Get a wingman to party in bar to look out for one another.

3) Cedula or ID, snap a copy of it from your phone to consciously let them know that you have their info. Hopefully, that could at least deter.

Stay safe and have lots of Safe Sex, jejeje.

Points 2 and 3 are a must.

I think with point 1, a lot of it is on personal judgement. Generally speaking, I agree. There are probably red flags like overly eager girls looking to go back to your place within an hour of meeting you in a bar or club. Or the type of group a girl is part of. Also, where you go out has a part to play as well. There are little tell tale signs that should prompt someone to be a bit more cautious. But I wouldn't flat out say that there isn't a hook-up culture; it's less likely on a first meet / date, but much more likely if you meet again.

Ultimately, there are good and bad people, just like anywhere else. Just keep your wits about you.

1) Respectfully disagree. There is a very much a hookup culture here. I've experienced it multiple times myself. On dating sites, I have matched, texted and met up with girls for a coffee / beer. If we've clicked, we head back to my hotel and bang. On numerous occasions. Sometimes, the girl just comes straight to the hotel, we chat in the bar for half an hour to build comfort, and then go upstairs to do the deed. No money changes hands. These are regular girls with day jobs. I very rarely drink alcohol with them, and I watch my soft drinks of course, and have all my valuables locked up in various locations in the room.

And on three occasions, these girls have become friends / regulars. I'm seeing one of them tomorrow for our 4th meeting. I like to have a couple of civvie girls in my rotation as well as banging putas in casas.

3) Asking them to give you their cedula so you can take a photo of it will not help built rapport. In fact, it will destroy it. It will kill the mood, and if the girl is a non-WG, then there's a good chance that I can kiss goodbye to any sort of action. And if the girl is a scammer, then having a photo of their cedula on my phone will be of little help if they then scopolamine my ass and steal that phone.

I personally know a guy here who was scopolamined. It happened in a bar, where 2-3 girlfriends were all telling him how handsome he was, and in his own words "they kept making me drink". Two obvious red-flags right there:

A) when 2 or more girl-friends show interest in you with over-the-top compliments, or.

B) they're encouraging you to drink.

Then you have a potential situation. These girls often work in pairs. One distracts you, whilst the other spikes your drink.

Interesting enough, the casas are THE safest place to be from my experience. Even the most rough looking ones, on a dodgy looking calle, seem safe once inside. And the touts who promote them, although very enthusiastic at times, are never rude or aggressive when I say "No gracias."

You think and look for insurance to come down yourself. #1 any criminal can have fake ID. #2 When a criminal makes a crime, they hope that they've never been caught or just they don't think about anything and do crime. If you think that hotel security safe you from criminals, what if he works with criminals? #3 there are many other safety problems, we just don't know about them.

Q: Is hotel Tequendama girl friendly?

Yes, I stayed for one night few weeks back. I did not bring any one but asked the agent while checking and he said no issues to being without any fee until 9 pm. After that guest charge is applicable but did not asked how much. Guessing around 70 k or some experts can chime in.

I loved the tequendama suites but only lack of balcony where I cannot lit the cigar while having a drink.

Excellent TR and I stayed in Tequendama Suites but only for one night.

As you said you can bring girls with no guest fee until 9 pm. The suites are huge with kitchen, sofa set high floors gives the best view too.

So I went in, asked to see the girls, and there were 6 this time. All very average. I immediately went for a un rato with the bangable one (25 K). This place really needs a refurbishment. It's not one where you'd take your friends.

There's a batch of 5 casas on this corner (see the google map a few posts below). Wanted to try one. Went upstairs, and immediately regretted it. I was ushered into an empty living room with a sad-looking sofa. No bar, no other person. I thought "Oh damn, here we go. " The mamasan walks in and I ask to see the girls. I suspected she would have 2 un-bangable girls to show me, but there were about 10. And a couple of them were bangable. I picked a nice, girl-next-door type. Early 20's, firm body (no baby damage), and her attitude in the room was awesome. I always try and connect with the girl first verbally with my extremely poor Spanish. My hope is that it makes both of us feel at ease. She was lovely, and kissed on the lips. This is always a great start for me. Long, slow BJ (covered) and then onto sex. She was tight, and I came about 15 minutes later. She really felt like a 'novia' and of course I gave her a tip.

The charges are: 30 minutes for 40 K, and 1 HR for 80 K. There is no un rato option.

If you are thinking of banging mainly in Santa Fe, then get an apartment / hotel close by, but watch out for the safety aspect.

If you want to do casas, then get something in Chapinero. It doesn't need to be chica friendly as you'll be doing take-out's anyway.

If you want modern, posh, Western style environment, then get something in Zona Rosa.

If you mention the names the nice apartments you've seen around Santa Fe, then maybe others then point out the positives / negatives of them and give you an indication of the area is like.

For me main thing is good value of appartment, doesn't really need to be close to working girls as mainly I will try my luck with semi pros.

So I would say being visit friendly and having decents places to eat in around area would be priority.

All the talk about Danger -- I agree that Santa Fe can be dangerous, but it is more dangerous for some than others. I think if you stick around the north stroll and club area like this gentleman did you are in not in much danger. That would be the area between Calle 22 and Calle 24 / Carrera 15 and Carrera 16 a. I do walk to my place going home (about 5 blocks) and rarely will cab-- There usually are police all over. I have never had a problem but I remain vigilant.

I actually really enjoy the street life outside of the area. So many people out and about -- pretty girls and cute kids running around. It reminds me of Spanish Harlem in the 60's.

It's a vibrant community tons of street food and vendors. It's real life happening unlike most neighborhoods in the US where everyone stays inside. I often shop on Calle 22 business district.

I wrote a brief report a few days ago and have written many reports on SF-- I just want to say I do not always have it in me to describe every nuance and fantastic experience.
