Ended up booking 3 hours for 400 with girl from last night after my first hour earlier in the day.

I spent many weeks reading different forums trying to decide what to do. I was psychologically very much in need of a vacation. I had a trip planned for March of 2020. I booked the trip in Dec 2019. Everything was booked and paid for. I was to do 4 days in Bangkok, a week in Pattaya, 3 days in Siem reap, a week in Phnom Pehn, a week in Saigon, and a final 3 days in Bangkok. Needless to say I was devastated Thailand shutdown the day I was supposed to land. I only cancelled two days before I was supposed to leave as I had every intention of going until it became painfully obvious it was not going to happen. I had saved $9000 for this trip and used all of my 120 hours of vacation time and 4 days of unpaid time off work. I had planned on waiting it out but once it became obvious it would be middle of 2021 before this was a possibility I decided to look at other options. Tijuana was my first pick but after research and having to travel through California, I decided this was not the best choice for me. I actually looked really hard at Aruba and even participated in some surveys they conducted before they had even reopened but my state was not one that require no testing, vacation is not something I was willing to gamble on an untrustworthy test. The only options left at this point were Brazil and Turkey. I had no desire to go to Turkey and had interest in Brazil. It has to be top 5 countries for any monger.

Having decided on Brazil I knew Rio was the only option for me. Bangkok is the only large city I have ever enjoyed spending time in. I am a country boy. So, a week before the trip I booked and paid for my flight and rooms. Flight from Miami to Rio was around $600 round trip. Rooms were around $600 for 8 or so nights. That left me with around $7000 to play with. Usually I go for quantity over quality on my mongering trips. But once I saw the quality on offer in Rio my plans changed. I decided to only go for the best and not settle. I pulled 3 9's and 1 solid 10. A few 8's and the only time I settled was at Paris cafe. I went with the cool chick over a better looking one and she did not disappoint. Rio was full of great choices. Although it is a bit more work than SEA to seek out the ladies it is worth the effort. One of the biggest questions I have been asked by friends is how it ranks compared to other places I have gone exclusively for mongering. Here is my ranking. Pattaya Rio Bangkok Cebu Miami. There are many factors that come into play quality, quantity, value, performance etc. This is just my opinion. All is subjective and ymmv.

I would visit Rio again if I could get a direct flight from Miami. I think a week would be enough time for someone like myself who has limited time off work and obligations at home. More time would be great but just is not an option at this time. I met a lot of really cool people and got along great. My last day a lady was actually shocked when I told her I had only been in Brasil for 8 days. She thought I had been there much longer by the way I acted and got along. Her words. She said, I think you are becoming Brasilian. Well anyway next stop Cebu (March 2021) to do some retirement planning and take care of business interests. If at all possible I will spend a week in Phnom Penh or Pattaya if either are open for Farang / Barang.

If you are on the fence or not sure about Rio. I highly recommend giving it a try. A friend was supposed to go with me but cancelled due to fear of danger. It is a city treat it like any other city and you will be fine. Shit happens, all you can do is be smart and careful. Something I have not mentioned thus far is insurance. I RTFF and went with seven wonders it was $38 for $500,000 in medical. I was not asked for any proof along the way and luckily did not need it. My top advice would be RTFF. After seeing most of what barra had to offer I decided I wanted to spend my last night in copa. So, I cut my airbnb short a day early and moved back to pestana. Did some shopping. It was raining so I relaxed and finished my bottle of Bombay in the room before heading out. First stop was Casablanca. Ended up being my only stop of the night. Also, I feel that given the low number of ladies I took this trip I will single handedly drive market prices.

Nearing 3 months in Rio.

All has been well (more or less) with one BAD story. I will write report it later. It happened several weeks ago and involved my stupidity and was scammed for some money, but I needed the lesson as I was probably to Euphoric.

I was told that since I registered for 2, I could register a guest with ID etc, and that would be the only best allowed during my stay. She said that this was due to new COVID protocols. It's been awhile since I've been here on ISG's Brazil Forum. I went to Manaus a couple of years ago and Rio that same year. Since relocating to Medellin, let's say I've been. A bit occupied.

Anyway, I would like to know if anyone has a current list of the Prives / CLínicas that are in the office buildings in Centro. I know the suites would change time to time pre-Covid, so I can't imagine how it is now. Any info is greatly appreciated!

Yeah I was about to say. You won't be the only one wearing a mask. I'll be taking precautions as well.

During my recent trip down there, I noticed that in general the mask compliance rate was 50/50. It was a lot better in Copa than say Centro, where you wouldn't even know there was such thing as a pandemic. You can forget seeing any one with a mask at the termas, bars, prives etc. The few places I visited, I was the only one wearing a mask and if the place was crowded like those trash termas and such, I just immediately left. When it came to the garotas at any of the places I visited, like Duda's, Eden, MC, 502 etc, it was business as usual (No fist or elbow bumps, LOL).

I kept this trip very short and tried to limit my activities, but still could not resist. But definitely stayed away from any place that was crowded with a bunch of people without masks. Places like MC and 502 had very low volume of people inside, which was why I ended up staying at those spots. I wanted to peep out 65 and Cancun to see how they looked since 4 x4 was still closed, but I didn't want to get changed into a robe and all that, just to discover that the place was packed with the non mask wearing crowd that was typical in Centro and pay the entrada just to leave after arriving.

If you're still wary about being exposed to possible COVID-19, Rio may not be a good option right now. The exchange rate is the best I've ever seen and might consider another trip in a few months if the price of the flights are still low. In the meantime, I need to get another test done soon to make sure I'm good.

So if bringing girls was important to me (it isn't) I would want to know for sure that my hotel or apartment rental wouldn't give me a hard time. But that's just me. Other folks might enjoy the "adrenalin rush" not knowing, yet others enjoy that no hotel clerk would dare say no to them.

Ipanema is fine. The Eastern half of Ipanema is a very short walk to the heart of Copa. As always, the trick is to find a hotel or rental where bringing back guests is not an issue. There's the rub. Accessibility: I'm Asian and will probably stick out like a sore thumb in Brazil. I assume big cities and Rio and SA should be easily accessible but wondering if hobbying will be difficult, like in other places such as Japan and Korea, where either being a native, or being fluent in the language is a prereq to getting into some establishments.

Timing: Currently planning on around New Years, or just after New Years. I'm assuming Christmas will be a bad time given the country's religion, but would New Years or after New Years be a bad time as well?

I don't know if you know, but there was some sizable Japanese migration to Brazil before WW2. You won't stick out as much as you think. Lima, Peru, while not as crazy of mongering destination as Brazil, also has much Japanese influence. (Lima has great Japanese and fusion restaurants.).

Hotel and AirBnB rates generally spike over New Years (called areéveillon in Rio). Not all the girls will be back and working after Christmas, but there should be enough talent in the city. Unless you were intrigued by being in Rio for the NYE celebration, your best bet is after the NYE holiday. While Rio is going to try to have a celebration, it appears it will be dampened down some from previous years.
