Booked the Honey Lodge in Pattaya, near walking street through Orbitz. The price was good and the location is excellent. However, when I showed up today, the hotel people told me I had to pay because they aren't affiliated with Orbitz, just Booking.com. I told them to stuff it and left. I will have to have a conversation with Orbitz to get the money back they collected. What I am really concerned about are the next 3 hotels I booked on this trip through Orbitz. If this repeats itself I will run out of credit limit before my trip is over.
Anyone else had these major booking agencies let them down?
I moved to the Queen Elizabeth Inn on Soi 6. I kind of like it, cheap and classy and right in the action. However, I just squished a bug that looks suspiciously like a bed bug. Tonight might be itchy and scratchy.

One bonus at VT 6 was seeing so many girls coming and going. The walk from the elevators to the main entrance is a long one so you had plenty of time to assess the girls before they vanished into the street.

Great location next to 6, walk out the door and jump on a baht bus, McDonald's and Starbucks right in front. Top floor view facing the water is worth every penny. Bed is comfortable as long as you don't have a girl sleeping with you, one of those two twin setups that will split in the middle. Shower is weak and the wifi wouldn't work with my laptop. It's cheap in the $30 range, I got it for $27 then got upgraded to a bay view. Wingman says the pool is just ok, not very deep. Hard to say if I'd stay there again.

Air pollution covers your balcony in soot in a matter of days.
I made a mental note next time to bring towels from Europe. All sets of towels I bought in Thailand kept shedding.
I prefer to live in hotels these days. A 3-star hotel is better than a same price 4-star rental. No hassle with cleaning and other things.
The Base has a huge building site next to it. This is a one-week old snapshot of The Base from 2nd road.

Was considering doing a 30-day stay in Patts next year. I was wondering if an Airbnb is the way to go. Anyone have any bad experiences, or a good reference? I'd like a one bedroom with gym, pool possibly a washer in the apartment. I also want the freedom to bring in "quests" LOL.

Vt6.
Booked through dance watchers site with no problems, they use PayPal for deposit and cleaning fees upfront and then cash for the balance on arrival.
I booked the room with the balcony Jacuzzi (18-659) and it's as good as the YouTube video's show, loads of power points if you need them, great kitchen, shower is easily big enough for two (tried that several times so far) and loads of towels which are changed daily along with the bedding I took the daily houseclean package and it's been very good. Some may find the bed on the firm side, but that's to my taste. View is great with little or no noise from the surrounding area with the windows closed but the drainage work can be quite noticeable at times during the day. Pool is good, shops downstairs are reasonable and there are a couple of cafes and also some massage shops but not sure what's on offer (yet). Laundry is cheap and good; I also have a washing machine in the apartment but haven't used it. No problems with the lifts and security is based by them and takes ID from your "guests" but there is no means of contacting you when they leave so not sure how effective that is.
Looking in some of the other rooms as I walk past the standard seems to vary greatly, some look OK, some don't indeed I wouldn't stay in them at any price. Speaking to one of the other occupants in the lift he booked through honey and got what he paid for and is happy with it but booking through Expedia etc. Is a lot more uncertain apparently but others may know better.
Would I stay here again? Yes definitely and will do next year.
