Reached out to the guy that posted the link below on craigslist. He says this place is literally 50 meters away from habanos and no ID etc. Anyone used this place?. He is asking deposit for the place and I have not seen any thread that talked about this as an option.

I will tell you from a previous loss of mine.

Do not pay anyone like this a "deposit". If this is legit they will have something for you when you arrive and you can pay them when you are at your place to stay and have keys. There was at least one member on this forum cheating other members and he was all over Craigslist also.

Continental Hotel?

My experience with the hotels is old, but Bristol did not charge. The receptionist had "hooker radar" and was obnoxious to my date. I was given the choice of registering her (no charge) or having security interview her. The Continental purportedly was not girl friendly, however I did not have a problem bringing back two dates and going straight up the elevators. I cannot recommend the Continental unless you get a high floor because of street noise and poor sound insulation.

I agree with ViajeroGringo, except that I was not asked to register the date I brought back to Miramar Intercontinental.

Bocas del Toro sucks. Hotter than hell. Drugs, especially heroin, quite prevalent. Street hustlers want to sell you dope and if you don't care to purchase, will hassle and threaten you. A lot of Rasta type white kids cluttering up the place. Avoid.

Hi all. Thanks for your contributions. I was wondering if anyone can advise if Panama City has good affordable short time hotels to hit up as I'm traveling with others that don't condone the habit.

Also, curious about any tips for the Bocas del Toro area if the hobby is available there. I've never been to the area so I can't really contribute but I've traveled extensively in Asia if anyone wants an overview of areas. Thanks.

Bocas del Toro is dead for mongering. This is a purely turistic area. You'll find your average backpacker, and some panamenians vacationing. Not advisable to go looking for mongering spots at all.

Doing the RTFF and trying to stay current ahead of my first trip to PTY. Unlike other forums (read BKK) - I couldn't find one thread dedicated for hotels. Hence trying to start a post so everyone can keep current.

Would appreciate if folks can update with the right numbers and more hotels.

You can add Intercontinental Miramar to your list of No Fee Chica Friendly Hotels. They do check ID, but otherwise welcoming. Nice place, and only a $3 cab ride from Habanos, or 5 - 10 minute walk if your friend doesn't have very high heels.

To reiterate old post, carry your passport and entry pass. I hit a police roadblock two blocks from Habanos on the way and was almost arrested as an illegal immigrant. After 30 minutes waiting on the curb to be hauled to jail, police let me go. My new friend was patient and helpful (she had all her papers and could have left), and waited with me until we took another taxi home. Had to pay for two taxis, but the relief of not spending the night in jail was worth the extra $3 for a second cab.

I'll be back in a few weeks, and will learn from my mistakes.

If you read my posts in the PTY forum I have stopped paying at Veneto / Habanos anyway, but having some knowledge of mongering in general in PTY I will point out that:

A. Veneto has a history of erratic behavior in regards to working girls. Those of you around back in in 2008-2010 may recall they were constantly changing policies.

Be. There is LOS Arcos and the place around the corner from Habanos. The place around the corner from Habanos is $25. I thought LOS Arcos was less but I have not been there in a year. There is also ANOTHER place that is cheaper but I was really fucking smashed and don't remember what it is called.

See. Someone else mentioned having to pay $150 +50 and how that sucks. Well, don't pay $150 for starters. All these girls regularly fuck for $40 or less most of their careers. You really shouldn't pay more than $100 and talking them down to $80 is usually doable.

The. FWIW a buddy of mine has been staying at the Princesa hotel. It is across the street from the Fernandez de Cordoba metro stop. It's also as most a 3 dollar cab ride from Veneto. It's chica friendly and only costs $25 per night.

But anyway, start using this as a reason to start branching out into new places and working on your negotiation skills to get the price down.

I was just at the Hotel El Camino Real for a quality hour for $15. Clean room with AC and TV, clean bedding and clean towels. I don't need anything more.

I will be stay at the Veneto for four days, arriving this Thursday. Trust me I won't be paying for anyone to join me in my room. When someone comes up to my room it is no ones business regarding our relationship. They don't charge for my brother, business associate, my mother, or my girlfriend. Trust me, don't let taxis or hotels push you around. What are they going to do call the police because you refuse to pay $10 on top of the regular cab rate because they took you to strip club? WTF, they can't charge you $75 because you you took a Colombian up to your room to discuss politics. Grow some balls.

I'm sure many of us will want to hear how you did not pay the chica fee at Veneto.

And yes, they could call the cops. Panamanian police are corrupt. They can toss you in prison and it will be a year before you actually see a judge. Be careful.

As far as I know, foreigners need to carry an ID or passport all over the world. What do you think happen, if a foreigner is stopped in the USA or any other country and he is not carrying a valid passport with all the right stamps. It's always some kind of problem.

Obviously you are not from the US because there is no requirement to carry an ID at all, no matter who you are. Now, that doesn't mean you won't get some shit if you don't have one, but there is no law.
