I am more comfortable with Kazakhstan (especially in the north) because of the large number of Russian speakers. I used to go there when I worked on space stuff in Russia.

But, it's crappy for mongering.

You can get by with Russian in Baku and Tblisi. I do and my Russian sucks.

I checked on the visas, no problem.

Both ladies have been to Ukraine in the winter and have winter gear.
