I don't want to clutter the São Paulo thread so I write here.

Regarding the color of the brazilian women. As mentioned Brazil is extremely mixed. Native indians, immigrants from Europe, Asia and the Middle-East. A mixture of all these and that's Brazil.

If you want to meet really dark girls, Bahia is the place to go to. The biggest chance of meeting real blond girls with blue eyes is in the south. Indian girls you'll find a lot in Amazonas, Acre, Rondonia, Roraima and Pará. If you want to find chubby girls, without necks and large squared heads you should go to Ceará. That reminds me. The Búzios peninsula is a world-class tourist destination. You can take a cheap, non-private shuttle there from Rio. I am slowly looking through the Brazil threads, as I believe I mentioned in the first post, but having some generous informed answers in one spot helps with the initial planning and on getting the ball rolling. I think other newbies to Brazil may find the info helpful as well. So thanks for chiming in.

In Thailand I hit it off with a former UFC competitor at one of the local academies. We hung out a few times and practiced on the matt together. Unfortunately he's a 280 lb + guy and not a sub 120 lb girl. My friend did get a little crush on a cute petite BJJ competitor but nothing ever came of it. So yes maybe we will get luckier this trip. There is little comparison. Although it is hard to generalise over such a large population, Brasilian working girls will tend to engage more emotionally, whereas I find FKK girls can seem rather clinical and impersonal.

The big termas are generally very safe, and also the clinicas in SP and Rio. You'll generally get a personal locker with a key or instance. But the general rule in Brazil is only carry what you need for that time, whether money, credit cards, ipad or phones (I. E. Until you are back to your hotel or apartment). *Especially on the beach. * You are very safe in upmarket areas like Avenida Paulista (SP) and upmarket venues. Elsewhere you should exercise 360 degree awareness as a matter of course. Take a camera when you need to take a camera and if unsure, keep it as inconspicuous as possible. That sort of thing. Doing that lets you relax until you know the areas. Many cariocas (Rio residents) will carry small notes in one pocket and larger notes in a less obvious pocket. But everyone has their own security zone. Most people will never have any trouble. It's just how well prepared you want to be in case you are one of the ones that could be unlucky. (By the way, ju-jitsu might be great, but not if someone has a gun.) Stay away from demonstrations and check local updates or warnings (there's been problems recently with weather, a collapsed bridge etc) but they're big cities and small incidents in one area get disproportionate news.

Any other places we should visit, or do you think we will be content in Rio for an entire month? We were happy with being in Phuket for almost 3 weeks.

Rio and SP are very different cities in almost every possible way. I'll add my own descriptions as I love both cities.

There is plenty to do in Rio for a month. It's a party and beach city, with adequate mongering and arts facilities, and lots of tourist attractions. You will want to stay anywhere in the southern half of the city. Ipanema and Leblon are upmarket but a longer distance from other districts. Copacabana is a bit crazier and closer to downtown. Botafogo is one stop further to downtown and a cultured choice (good arts, cuisine) and a short metro or bus ride to the Copacabana or Leme beaches. Avoid outlying Barra de Tijuca as it's too far away and there's been additional problems with transport there recently.

Sao Paulo has no beach but well-structured, good value mongering and also some of the best cuisine in the world. It is more business-orientated and 'westernised' than Rio, large infrastructure, biggest city in the southern hemisphere. Travelling distances within the city can be considerable. People are very polite. It is not tourist-orientated and not so easy to navigate at first so many mongers take advantage of ABG's guide service (for which I understand he charges a small fee, though I've never met him). The 'Times Square' area of SP is Avenida Paulista and a good place to stay with access to everything. The downtown area, as with Rio, is a bit scruffier. There are several attractive areas within reach of Paulista, such as trendier upmarket nightlife and Bohemian, sophisticated dining and art places such as Vila Madalena. A map of the sort of places you want to go (eg mongering) may help you pick a place to stay. Bear in mind the area near Paulista is hilly in many places so when staying there it's best to be within a block of the main strip.

I use both AirBnB and hotels in both cities. Hotels give you at least someone on hand if you have questions about things but AirBnB can save money and give you a whole apartment and added privacy. Finding somewhere reasonably near a metro can make life easier for a first visit. (In SP, buy a Bilhete Unico card -- gives you hassle-free, queue-free, ticketless entrance to Metro, buses, trains. Although taxis are not expensive, there are times when the Metro makes sense. The bus services are also excellent.).

Both cities are good. But personally, I prefer Sao Paulo over Rio de Janeiro when it comes to working girls and nightlife activities. Food is better in Sao paulo. More diverse (people of different ethnicity). Rio de Janeiro is also a good city to monger, Rio de Jeneiro is better than SP when it comes to daytime activities and touristic spots. As a dermatovenereologist living in Brazil, I would say the risk of std is different everywhere. HIV is epidemic in gay population (82 per cent of people living with HIV in Brazil are MSM) unlike Europe where HIV infect mainly gays and African immigrants that had heterosexual sex in Africa). Syphilis is epidemic in straight people living in poor rural areas and gay population in Brazil. Unlike Europe where syphilis is only epidemic in gay population. Chancroid, granuloma inguinal and Lymphogranuloma venereum that are commun in people living in poor rural areas in Brazil, those 3 stds are rare in Europe and the USA. Gonorrhea, Chlamydia in Brazil are as common as in Europe. HSV2 and HSV1 are also common and often asymptomatic, most people have HSV. HPV is also common but most of the time asymptomatic and can go on their own. It's useless to get screened for HPV and HSV if you have no symptom. (Genital warts or ulcers).

I never use condom when I get sucked. Oral sex is not as dangerous as unprotected anal and vaginal sex. Anal sex is the most dangerous for any sexual disease followed by vaginal sex. Getting uncovered blowjob is the same risk as kissing a girls. You can't get chlamydia from uncovered blowjob but still possible to get gonorrhea. Chancroid and granuloma inguinale are transmitted from unprotected vaginal sex. I have never seen primary syphilis ulcer in a oral mouth. Some of my patients with oral ulcers were all diagnosed with early or late latent syphilis so the ulcers were not caused by syphilis. HPV and HSV are the most common std, if you have hsv1 you are immune to hsv2. It's really rare to get hsv2 from BBBJ because oral area is not a place for hsv2 hepatitis is more often transmitted from blood and anal sex not from vaginal sex or blow job. You can't get hiv from oral sex and really difficult to catch hiv from vaginal sex.

There are many tourist spots. Copacana and Ipanema are good spots for tourists. Lapa is also good spot for tourists. In your hotel, they can help you what spot to visit.

Your lady will be as safe as you, if she is careful and don't go to empty places or dangerous areas. The danger is the same for you and your wife. Men can be in danger in Brazil as much as women. Side note we both practice martial arts and will probably be looking into some BJJ (Brazilian Jiujitsu) academies while we are down there but I'm pretty sure the BJJ academies are easy to find.

I am a big fan of Azul; however, some clarification is needed here:

1. Azul is NOT in Star Alliance; they do however partner with United and TAP Portugal.

2. Azul DOES charge for checked luggage, but not for carry on luggage.

Correct. And you can use miles from United's MileagePlus program for flights on Azul. Only 8 k from GRU to CNF, which is very generous compared to what United levies for their own flights.
