So, to help all of you dedicated and studious gentlemen out there in your efforts to become conversant in the Romanian language, here are a few of the most essential terms one needs to survive in Bucharest (and more importantly to make sense of all those sexy ads):

vino la mine = come to my place
te astept = I await you (normally means incall, but could mean just waiting for your phone call)

ma deplacez (la domicul, la hotel, la tine acasa) = I come to your place/the hotel
suna ma = call me

pe ora = per hour

XX/YYY/ZZ (numbers) = most often the first number is the age, the second number is the height in centimeters, the third number is the weight in kg (but sometimes they put the age last e.g. YYY/ZZ/XX)

sanii mari = big breasts
sanii nr. x = breast size (1 to 6 from smallest to largest, 4 being equivalent to an American D-cup)
fund/fundulet bombat = incredible ass
(yeah I know they all say that, but in general I find that Romanian girls have great asses)

That's because Saturday night is THE NIGHT TO GO OUT in Romania, much more so than Friday night, and most of the students who work anuntul.ro are taking the night off to go out to their favorite clubs with their friends. Well gents. Have lived in Bucharest a few years now and I feel it's time to share a bit of my experience with you. I really only discovered the 'Dark Side' of Bucharest in the last six months, but I have enjoyed every minute of it (well, almost every minute, see below), and every time I pause to drink a beer, I look back with regret thinking about all the years wasted that I lived here without taking advantage of the city's vast and beautiful 'natural resources. " So here goes.

There are many ways to 'get some' in Bucharest, but I would have to say that my favorite way (others will disagree) is to go online to select a partner. The best site in my opinion is also by far the most Romanian one. www.Anuntul. Ro which has been mentioned in other posts. It's a site for people selling all manner of things, from cars. To houses. To. You guessed it. Pussy! (Section: Matrimoniale- Ea cauta partener)

What's so great about this site? Volume! It's busier than a trading pit at the New York stock exchange. And it's Bucharest's well-known 'spot market' for sex. During peak hours, ads will show up on the site at the rate of one per minute! The most recent ads show at the top of the list, while older ads typically disappear from the server after 3-4 days. So you are reasonably assured that the girl you are calling is active and going to pick up the phone. This is important, since different girls work different days and hours, and more importantly because many of the nicer girls arrive on the scene, do the job for 2-3 months, and then disappear forever.

What else is good about it? Well, in my experience it is also the cheapest way for an expat to get laid in Bucharest. Here 90% of the girls state the price in the ad, so it doesn't leave them a lot of wiggle-room to jack up the price when they realize they are talking to an expat. By surfing this site, one can get familiar with the true market price of sex in Bucharest, as it is pitched to Romanian men. Generally between 100-200 RON per hour. (25 to 50 Euro)

If only streetwalkers would hang a sign around their neck that said the price, maybe I would like this option better. There are other reasons I don't like this option however, such as the proximity and the occasional need to deal directly with pimps.

Now, back to anuntul. Ro. What to look for? The pitfall of shopping online, as many experienced members will tell you is that you don't have any assurance that the girl will match the photo. However, I have had reasonable success by applying a few rules that common sense would dictate anyway:

-stay away from adds where the photos were obviously taken in a professional studio. **

-stay away from adds where the girl is a '9' or a '10' but the price is only 100 RON**

-stay away from adds where in 100% of the photos the girl (a '9' or a '10') is looking directly at the camera, but her face has been obscured or blanked out. **

-stay away from adds where all of the photos are taken in a beautiful luxury apartment with beautiful furniture, even according to Western standards**

**the above photos have been scooped from Hustler online or a similar site with 90% certainty.

What to look for:

-non professional, amateur quality photos showing an otherwise beautiful girl

-in shots that include the girl's head, her head is always turned to the side, or her hair falls forward, obscuring her face (you'll never find a photo like this in Hustler)

-basic rooms with ordinary or even cheap furniture in the background of the picture

-another add with another girl, where the background is the same furniture, same room (generally, 2 or 3 girls will work together in the same apartment)

That's right, 100% real ho's do not get their pictures taken in professional studios, and don't want to be bothered to edit each photo in photoshop. Much easier just to turn away or let the hair obscure their face. Look for a girl who just stands in front of a mirror to take her own photo. While some of these girls undoubtedly make decent money, they rarely work out of their own apartment. Instead, 2 to 5 girls will pool together to rent an apartment just for work, in one of Bucharest's many communist blocs for about EUR 150 per month. Then they fill it with old or cheap furniture, nothing special, but functional enough for sex.

Found your girl yet? Now we come to the next pitfall, language. Virtually 100% of the adds on anuntul. Ro are in Romanian. If you've studied or spoken another latin-based language, it's not too hard to understand the adds with the aid of a translator here and there to build your vocabulary. Or try viewing the site using Google translator.

Now, call your girl, but be prepared for the possible disappointment that she will not speak any language other than Romanian. I would estimate that about 50% of the girls on the site can speak passable or better english, so once you find one you can establish where she is, what her services are, etc. A good part of this is already written in the adds, but it never hurts to confirm.

Another decision to take regards incall (vino la mine, te astept) vs. Outcall (vin la tine). Opinions differ, but in general I prefer to avoid outcall, because:

1.) For outcall, the girl is more likely to try to push up the price, ask you to pay her taxi, commuting time, etc.

2.) Her 'taxi' is likely to be a 15-year-old, tricked-out Mercedes Benz driven by none other than her pimp, a dangerous thug who will then sit parked in front of your place whilst you are shagging away.

3.) Outcall girls are often the same girls who are normally working as SW's. Lower quality, more gypsies, and..THE BONUS-. They may try to steal from you when they come to your place.

I like incall because.

1) This is the way most student ho's are working. Like I said, a few friends get together, rent an apartment, and open their business, simple as that. This is how a large part of the female student population in Romania finances their higher education. Like this, you meet a lot of girls who are young, intelligent, conversant in English, friendly, and generally nice companions. Most of them are truly independent, I. E. NO PIMPS AROUND. Their safety net is the presence of their girlfriends in the adjacent room, who will call the police if you become unruly or out-of-hand.

2) Ask the girl if you can meet her friends while you're there. Even if she is not your ideal ho, if you like her friend, you can get her number for next time, or even insist on going to the bedroom with her friend instead of with her, if she is not what you wanted/expected.

Now, you've made your decision and you are ready to go to your girl. One last tip: get there fast. Just because you've agreed over the phone that you are coming does not guarantee that she is going to let him in, and she won't answer the phone when you arrive outside her apartment. You'll be left out in the cold, quite literally! These girls are opportunistic, but they've also been burned many times by guys who promised they were coming and then never showed up. So really they are just being pragmatic and they take the first guy that they are sure is coming. A few suggestions to reduce your chances of being left out in the cold:

1) When you agree that you are coming, tell her that you are coming immediately (e. G. Not in 30 minutes or 1 hour)

2) Agree that you will call her from the taxi, for her to give the driver directions

3) Call her as soon as you are in the taxi

4) Call her as soon as you arrive. You will need to do this anyway so that she can guide you to the right entrace, give you the code for the interphone, guide you to her apartment, etc.

With each of these calls, you increase her assurance that you are actually in fact going to show up, and you increase her level of commitment to you, decreasing the chance that she will blow you off for a john who suddenly shows up at her place while you are en route.
