This report is way late, but I thought I would throw it out there anyway. I stopped in Holguin for 2 quick nights. I got in on the bus and grabbed a taxi for the short ride to my casa. It turned out my casa was nowhere near the main sights, and the taxi driver tried to convince me to go with a different casa but I declined.

I checked in, showered and headed out for a quick bite. I then decided to stroll over to the main plaza, Parque Galixto Garcia. She does not want to go back to my casa and frankly, I don't want to take her there either. My casa owner had given me a strict vibe, and did not give me a key to the front door, meaning I would have to knock and wait for him to open the door for me. Although we had not discussed guests, I was sure he would not allow her there.

She suggests we go to a friend's place, as the friend is away and we can use her place. So we take a long bici-taxi ride then walk into a fairly sketchy barrio, with unpaved streets, no streetlights, no storm drainage and houses built in a haphazard manner. This was as close to a third world country slum as I have come in Cuba, and think there is no way she brings me here if I was a white guy with blonde hair. Sandra then knocks on a neighbour's door and gets a key. We go in and the place is small and bare bones but with a nice single bed. She turns on a small light, undresses and her big breasts are not only real, they are spectacular. She had a short pixie hairdo, like the actress Halle Berry, and a completely lean, athletic body. Those hairdos are very rare for Cuban women so she stood out. Overall, Holguin is a welcome break from the harassment of Havana and Santiago. It is always interesting to see a different side to the lives of Cubans, I am sure few here have actually gone to a Jinetera's place. I can imagine Sandra probably does not take me back to her place if I was a white guy with blond hair, as I did not stand out and we were never harassed by the cops in Parque Garcia and the areas around there. I have read a report or two saying there is heavy police presence in Holguin because it hosts a national police training school. If that is the case, the police figured I was just another negro Cubano. The no show on day 2 was a bummer, though. Maybe she just needed entertainment for a few hours.

There's a street directly behind Caribe Disco, I can't remember the name. It's a 1 block walk. Anyway there are about 4 casa particulars on that street, my friends and I stayed at 2 of them recently. Very clean, private entrances, your own bathroom, AC, etc. And they let you in with your chica no problem.

One of the casas also operates a very good restaurant on the same premises. Just go check it out, it's quite easy. Any taxi driver will help you out. BTW, DO NOT pay more than $25 CUC.

If you need a driver to show you around and "take care" of you while your there please feel free to contact a very good friend of mine. His name is Dr. Sosa and he lives in Santa Lucia but often travels to Camaguey for work at the hospital. Yes, he really is a doctor and he is in charge of the entire Santa Lucia region.

He has a nice clean white Hyundai with AC and portable DVD player. His rates are now $65 CUC per day plus gas. Very inexpensive for your own personal chauffeur when considering a rental will set you back $80 CUC per day + insurance + gas, etc. Not to mention, having your own personal English speaking driver in Cuba can save you a lot of headaches, money and pitfalls.

when you are in small towns things are a little less open, so you have to be a little discreet. speaking spanish is a definite plus, and there are also a few jineteros rep001tered here and tere, so you can hire one if you please. you will probably run into quite a few people who speak english too. i would recommend just walking around to get away from the central plaza and into more residential areas. i actually recall walking to up a hill within city limits. there is an old school or church built up there, and the most of the city is below you. nice view, and i did notice that the area is completely residential so we definitely stood out.

the european guy and i did run into several chicas who just happened to be out for a stroll. i think you will probably have to engage in a short conversation with a chica during the day and plan to meet later on at night when there are fewer eyes watching. there are two nightspots too, one is called "la salsa" and i forget the name of the other one. they are both full of young cubanas and i am sure you can arrange something offsite. i saw the same mamita from my old report from a few years ago in my subsequent visit, so no "new" information on new chicas. good luck!

If you are a veteran of Cuba then you will be fine in Baracoa. One of the nice things about places like Baracoa is that you do not find the hardcore chicks you would run into in Havana and Santiago. I had the some of the best sex of my life in Baracoa (I posted an older report here). I think of her as the campesina who almost broke my the*k.
