Chiming in with my two cents. There is a Bluebird App available for iOS and Android. It will help you book a taxi in advance if you don't want the hassle of standing on the roadside and trying to differentiate between a Bluebird and a non-Bluebird taxi.

Also, there is GO JEK which works like Uber. You can get a Bluebird through the GO JEK app also. You can also get a moto-taxi through GO JEK. I use this often to counter the notorious Jakarta traffic. Sure, one can argue about its relative safety, but it is way faster than anything else on wheels.

Finally, there is Grab, which works exactly like Uber. Grab bought out Uber's operations in all of SEA a few months back and in turn, Uber has taken a financial stake in Grab. Grab is a Singaporean venture.

Don't expect to be able to walk anywhere, and don't expect anything fun to start prior to 10 pm (Unless you want to go to brothels in the afternoon starting around 4 pm) and you will be fine in Jakarta. For me, the way to enjoy Jakarta is to sleep the entire day to be ready for the night. Then grab a taxi and head out. I know guys who spend all day long on Tinder lining up girls and other guys who like the brothels, but I like going out at night to the bars and chatting up free lance girls in person. I also find the karaokes to be good fun. I mainly go to BATS and CJs. Malio is good to play around with the dancers, but I haven't taken a girl upstairs there in years. I find the party atmosphere with the free lancers in the bar then take them to my place to be much more fun than a one hour brothel session. Jakarta is different. But no problem. I think you will like. Bluebird is your friend. My favorite nightspots are Malio / Malioboro, Emporium (any night of the week), CJ's & possibly BATS for FL pickups (especially on Friday and Saturday nights starting around 11 and going strong after midnight).

I always feel comfortable & safe. The food is good. The people are friendly. There are many hotels to choose from at various price points. AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THE GIRLS ARE GREAT! as in very sexy & very amourous in bed. The only negatives as far as I can see is that everything is spread out far & wide, there is not much to do during the day, and the traffic during the day and early evening is very congested. There is indeed a D'Heaven in sout Jakarta its located in Widjaya Centre you can find at the end of the street on your left side.

Its in the same street of the restaurant called Kananga where they sell excellent sate babi and red pork with rice or bami that's excellent and good if you want to fuel yourself after your visit or before going to the'heaven.

BATS and CJs are night time venues and on quite busy roads. The nearest other hotels are some distance away. No way would I walk to or from them at night. Take a taxi.

I've never stayed at the Novotel but it's in a good area for hook ups, FLs and Malls. The girls also know where it is and find it easily if they are coming to you.

Girls can be found in the basement food court or in the little popup shops in PasaRaya. Be a little careful in the main shopping complex as it's reasonably upmarket and propositioning the wrong girl could cause you trouble. BlokM Plaza and Mall or even Melawai Plaza are lower market and teeming with girls but language might be an issue.

Q3. Re mall hunts. Read somewhere "The best mall for picking up girls during the day in Blok M is actually Pasar Raya Mall. " - any feedback?

Long time lurker here. I will be in Jakarta next week and had RTFF the last 30 pages or so. Last time I went there was end of 2015, so exactly 3 years ago. There are quite a few spas there. D'Heaven, Fortune, Cherry, Delta, My Place, Pesona Sehat, Sumber Wijaya, Sari Mustika, Mitra Sehat, probably even others I haven't heard about. D'Heaven is the best if you are looking for FS. Fortune would be second best but you need to negotiate with the girl in the room. Cherry is also ok for that depending on the girls they have at the time. You can negotiate extas in any of them, but D'Heaven is basically more of a brothel than a massage place (but they do give a good massage). FS is guaranteed there. If you just want a massage, I recommend Delta first and My Place second.
