Why you don't want to use the metro? Akropoli Station is only 300 meter from your hotel, take the red line to Omonia then change on red line for Victoria Station. Victoria is next fot Filis, just 250 meter.

American coming to Athens next month. Staying in the royal Olympic Hotel area in Athens. Seems like it may be to far to walk to Filis. Are there any other white light areas closer to that hotel? If I get a cab to the filis area it looks like 12 minute ride, but will the cab stay? How would I get home are there cabs around the filis area? Thanks!

I stayed at the Novotel on Michail Voda Street, a 5 minute walk from Filis Street. I don't recall seeing a cab rank on Filis Street, but there were always taxis outside the Novotel. The area around Filis is pretty seedy, but for what its worth, I never felt unsafe (even in the early hours of the morning).

Long time reader, I've been to Athens few times and decided to try this studio.
