About the Ylang Ylang apartments in Ambataloaka, Nosy Be, mentioned here before. If you don't particularly care about your accommodation Ylang Ylang is a pretty good find. In Januari 2020 rooms with fridge were 50 k but they are in a bad state. Locationwise you can't get any better. They have free sunbeds to use in front of the sea. You can get the girls from the beach directly to your room. And in the evening you can enjoy the sunset with a cool seabreaze and a glass of wine under the palmtrees while the others are sweating it out. You are also only 200 m from the nightlife at Taxi Be or Billiard. They have no sign outside and no internet presence. You can find the location on mapsdotme. I couldn't handle the sight of the rooms. They where renovating some when I was there.

80 k is small money its just 21 USD. In Kenya no such price can be found on a beach so the real question is about girls, Does you are able to get girls that you like in order to justify the effort to get all the way there. If yes then its fantastic bargain.

Toliara city hotels always leave something to be desire and no beach. Mangily is more then 100 k. Sure you can rent a dog house and convince yourself that you are an explorer a true African pioneer.

Nosy Be? After I got multiple disease there I thing I am not coming back. So now only Toliara option remain.

You shall read my message: there are good bungalows for 25.000 existing. Not the crap as you show on your photo. And for 80 k, much less then in your home country for any dirt motel, you get a nice room in Mada.

I regret I had invested a lot of extra money for accommodation in many of my previous trips.

I had a clean, big room with comfort in Jakarta which cost 15 USD per day for my first Indonesia trip, many restaurants around and not far to go everywhere.

The people can still go outside until maybe 12:00 o'clock. Don't know exactly. In the Morning the market is open, so they can buy food. Then they have to go home. I just saw some pics on other boards. I looks like less people are on the streets. Maybe only one people of each family allowed?

You forgot the picture with the military vehicles in the streets. Population density unchanged. It has obviously gone indoors where social distancing is not happening. Hope their preemptive measures were undertaken in time.

On the 19th, getting the last flights out at the airport Tana, it was a strange scene, so many different types we never ordinarily encounter: the peace corps contingent, Mormons. And French, many nearly gone native, pieds-noirs-looking with children. Surreal really.
