I was married to one 27 years younger than me for almost a decade, but I didn't listen to the forum advice not to take them out of the Philippines (mine was Vietnamese) after that I got myself a few "older" ones, in their 30's, but lately it just happened that they were all much younger, the one that lives with me right now is 24, we been together for over 1 year, and so far it works great, especially that she has no kids. It does take an effort to educate them, but they are who they are, and I'm sure that's why we appreciate the Filipinas.

As for the Koreans, my GF in Sabang has just educated me on how they operate there.

Can you kindly clarify how you will be clarifying the market back to 1 k please?I will await your report to see how one man with one dick with 1 k will change the market back to 2019. Been wanting to visit Phil. From a long time, finally found some time in October. Spent 3 nights in Manila. Makati area. (Spent 10 days in BKK and PTY afterwards).
Travel:
US to MNL via TPE. EVA Air. Great connections and flights were on time. Went with Premium Economy and felt that it was an upgrade worth the extra money. Food options could've been better.
Currency Exchange:
Exchanged USD at one of those money exchange places in the airport. Forgot the exact name, TDO?? Their location was towards the corner, past the sim card people. Better rates compared to others.
SIM:
Bought a prepaid SIM. Easy activation using my unlocked phone.
Taxi:
Booked a Grab to my hotel. Very easy to use. And affordable.
Hotel:
City Garden Grand Makati. Booked through Agoda. Around $75 per night for a Deluxe King room.
Many people recommend this hotel and I could see why. Excellent location, guest friendly, and clean rooms.
I was pleasantly surprised to learn they do money exchange at the hotel reception. Used it one late night when there were no other options around. Not the best rate but works in an emergency situation.
I did spot some working girls at the rooftop bar in the late evening hours. Didn't engage with them.
Action:
Day 1 - Arrival day, walked around the Makati Burgos area around 11 pm. Most night clubs were closed (it being a Tuesday) - landed at a rooftop bar. Called my buddy who called his cousin in Philippines National Police Drug Enforcement Group and passed on all the details of Bakla. Now Bakla is in for a surprise and hopefully won't pull such stunt again or this is probably what Bakla does for living. As per him, there is a gang of Bakla who does this scam and occasionally robs people if they are allowed to enter with second Bakla. Lesson learned the hard way and won't make that mistake ever aging. Attaching Baklas pictures for others to be alert.
Day 12.

Been wanting to visit Phil. From a long time, finally found some time in October. Spent 3 nights in Manila. Makati area. (Spent 10 days in BKK and PTY afterwards).

US to MNL via TPE. EVA Air. Great connections and flights were on time. Went with Premium Economy and felt that it was an upgrade worth the extra money. Food options could've been better.

Booked a Grab to my hotel. Very easy to use. And affordable.
Hotel:
City Garden Grand Makati. Booked through Agoda. Around $75 per night for a Deluxe King room.
Many people recommend this hotel and I could see why. Excellent location, guest friendly, and clean rooms.
I was pleasantly surprised to learn they do money exchange at the hotel reception. Used it one late night when there were no other options around. Not the best rate but works in an emergency situation.

If I don't get down to Davao and if I decide to come back to Philippines, I will for sure head that way. Arrive at late night and take the bus while roads are sorta traffic free. Can I ask, have you travelled to Asia before? Or even outside of your home country?1/. Yes everything is PHP Cash. The only exception is that you can normally pay for your hotel via card, Agoda etc. Larger restaurants may accept card. There are ATMs in Sabang and PG but they routinely shut down and / or run out of cash so don't be down to your last 100 peso. You need 5000 per barfine plus drinks, plus meals, plus, plus. This is a PITA when ATMs only dispense 10 k per withdrawal. MAKE SURE YOUR BANK IS AWARE THAT YOU WILL BE MAKING MULTIPLE WITHDRAWLS EVERYDAY. Don't do anything crazy and you won't be robbed.
2/. Sabang centers around Gogo bars. There are freelancers but they are regularly run out of town when the bars complain about the competition. You could also follow Phil's directions to meet casuals / semi pros.

After finishing my Sabang adventure over the past week or so, I found myself back in Manila when I realized I left my phone and laptop adaptor back in the Sabang hotel room.
A quick google search lead me to an electronics store in a mall, where unfortunately they were unable to assist but suggested I try a discount store two floors down.
The young sales lady there dragged me down the back of the store and suggested a product I was a little hesitant about. She ripped it out of its packaging and said it will work. Which it did.
She then said, "What's my reward?"
"2000 pesos when you finish work."
Got to love The Phils.
And completely void of any red light area activity.

Had a late flight into manilla did not arrive until after midnight. Getting a ride from the airport to my hotel was a nightmare full of frustration but eventually arrived at my hotel very late. Checked in went to the room showered organized then went to the 7/11 to pick up a few things. After that went to LA Cafe time was 3:30 am. The canteen outside of the bar was pretty full with girls who I would consider to be 4 and 5's. There were a few standing in front of the place as well who were 4 and 5's. The first time I came to LA Cafe was 2012. The quality and numbers has diminished since those days in my opinion. Once inside the place had a few girls but it was not packed at that time. Took one girl last summer from a gogo on Burgos. They keep the lights dim in the gogos on burgos and the girls look better in the dim lights than they do in clear lights. Paid the outrageous price for a girl I thought was an 8 in looks only to see her in the clear light and she was a 6/7 in looks. She agreed to bare back in the bar but once in the room put up some resistance but then agreed. She agreed to long time but then left after one boom boom. As for freelancers on Burgos about 90% of them were ladyboys and of the actual women that were there about 90% of them seemed to be 30+ in age. Its probably not safe for foreigners to drink tap water most anywhere in Phils. In the area where I live, everyone here (including most locals) drink filtered / bottled water. What's that? You'd like to have a constant fresh supply of drinkable tap water like other countries? Me too, but that would require upgrades in well systems and chemical additives, adding to the cost of living here.
Another system we have complained about here is the road system (or the lack thereof). To few roads, too many broken roads, and too many cars on the road, leads to terrible traffic. You'd like to be able to drive to the local 7-11 today for a 6-pack of beer in your shiny cool vehicle, and get back home in 20 minutes? Me too, but its 45 minutes round-trip to the convenience store 1 km away from me in the daytime. Traffic jams abound. You want the government to fund a better road system? Another added cost of living here.
You want the place to be clean, with better trash pickup, with good schools, good roads and airports; good basic infrastructure, like Singapore? Be prepped to pay Sing prices.

I saw "Motherland" several years ago on PBS. Very enlightening. Worth streaming if it's available on Peacock. What I recall about the hospital in question 1. The hospital may deliver more babies than any other hospital in the world (Filipino exaggeration? 2. It's called Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital; 3. It's appropriately, immediately north of the Manila City Jail in the Santa Cruz district near Tondo. 4. Many years ago it was taken over as a government-supported facility.
Interestingly, there are scenes in the documentary in which nurses talk with women delivering their sixth or eighth child about getting a tubal ligation, which the hospital will perform for free. Some women literally told the nurses, "my mother told me not to let you talk me into a tubal ligation or contraception. " Thus, the reach of the Church is very deep culturally -- when women are conveying this anti-contraception message with little extra effort by the Church. I commend the professional efforts of these nurses.
I've met a Japanese guy named Nakanishi who's been studying Filipino culture, especially in a squatter community in Malabon (Sto. Nino), who portrays how networks of culture and influence are carried out by women throughout the squatter community and Metro Manila based on connections to other women from their province of origin. It strikes me that women are the principal conveyers of cultural tradition in the Philippines. They literally hold the society together. Consider, by way of contrast, how frequently Filipino men desert the women they've impregnated. This latter may be about class rather than society-wide culture.

I can understand first timers, or those who just want to do Angeles, Subic, Makati etc for the pleasure it provides.
However, some of the best times I've had have been in places like way up north of Cebu where the expectation isn't of a foreigner just looking for sex in a bar scene.
You get to mingle with the locals and ultimately rewards come your way (without the expense). I still keep in touch with a lovely girl on Bantayan Island that I met within half an hour of arriving there.
I've never done the online option searching for potential talent as I just don't have time to bother with that stuff.

Each to their own but I think the whole Angeles or Makati for newbies argument only holds for the time poor: sure if he's only in town a three day first visit, then just go to Burgos. However, if he is concerned about being ripped off, hard core hoes, one shot runners or generally mercenary surroundings, then it's hard to imagine a more welcoming or GFE experience than any of the provincial centres. And that's more so for a newbie. One thing about the Filipinas. They know how to play the game and they can tell a lie a mile off.
They're also all eyes, as are their girlfriends. You're being watched in their company and outside of their company.
For the two years I've known my GF in Sabang, I've always told her (honestly) I don't do the girly bars.
On my last visit, she said "I know, we know you don't go to the bars on your way back to your hotel. ".

Enjoy. G.I did that, most of my life, and I'm still doing it, but our days only in SEA, I get a weird thrill out of it. The only thing that's different for me now is the quality of lodging that I'm willing to accept. Just need a clean place, and private bathroom. I don't mind if it's a tabo, or if a few insects run around, as long as there is not a infestation. We are at the tropics, and it's normal. Also hot water was not readily available even in the civilized world until 100 years ago. I'm not crazy, and I enjoy hot water or cockroach free places, but if not avail, I understand the circumstances. Probably many of you had the experience when showering together with girls, to discover that they don't like hot water, and they stay away from it like it burns them. I had girls in Brazil that told me that hot water is only for doing laundry.

I often carried a small backpack but switched it to the front of my body and crossed my arms over it once I entered the rail station. Don't leave cellphones exposed or in exposed pockets. Find a way to tuck it into your clothing. Ditto money: I wear a money belt under my shirt over my shoulder and only travel with enough money and plastic for my day's outside activities.
The rail routes are well laid out and can be researched in advance online. It's easy to take a taxi to a beginning rail station and likewise from the ending station to your destination. It's just that after visiting many major cities worldwide with a decent rail infrastructure, I've always battled to find a station in Manila and in the end, it's just too much effort to get around. Public transport isn't promoted as an alternative and the majority of locals use the old Jeepney or motor scooter method. And if I have to walk 15-20 minutes to get to a rail station it kind of defeats the purpose.
Admittedly, I usually get a taxi from the airport to the hotel and the same on return.
My business meetings always result in a driver picking me up and dropping me back to the hotel. And 'Charlie' the driver always gets beer money out of me.
Let's face it. Manila is just mayhem getting around.
By the time I look at other options like rail, it's just easier getting a cab sometimes and watching the mayhem unfold around you on the roads.

Finally found time to write a report of my November / December trip. I spent a month in Manila, but 3 of those weeks were in Makati and based just off Burgos Street. I had a few experiences of the RLD.
My first experience of Gogo Bars on this trip was in fact thanks to my partner. We had been sitting in a Mexican bar on Burgos Street (opposite corner to Filling Station). We was in that bar for a number of hours, beyond 10 pm. She had quite a bit to drink, but during that time she was insisting that we check out what is through the black door (Dimples) on the building opposite. When we finished in the Mexican bar, my partner led the way and we went through that black door followed by a black curtain. A woman came up to me and seemed to take offence when I asked if she was the mamasan, to which she replied "no, I'm the waitress", we soon left. Another night I went alone into a different Gogo Bar, Iron Horse Saloon. Located opposite Makati Palace Hotel. Adhering to caution, I dodged alcohol and just drank only coke. Once in the private area, the skinny lady was sent away to prepare, the mamasan gave me something like 5 of 6 shots of alcohol. I decide to go inside as I recall Bottoms was meant to be a popular bar before 2020. I enter Bottoms, and appreciate 7. 30 pm (ish) is probably a bit early for a Gogo bar, but I'm in there now and I buy a drink of coke. The few ladies on stage are standing still bored, the ladies sitting down seemed to have been caught by surprise. They slowly get off their seat and straight away this feels like a regret already. I pick the first half-decent lady that comes into my line of sight and she sits down with me. I buy her one drink and we talk briefly. A couple of ladies ask if I want my shoulders massaged. Recalling the customer from Iron Horse Saloon, I reply "no thanks". The three ladies on stage are still not dancing at this point. Bottoms was not what I expected. Looked like it could be a fun place, but on the inside there was no life, perhaps it was too early. I asked who the mamasan was, and she comes over. I discuss the BF and tips arrangement. Again, I end up liking the mamasan more that the woman I had chosen. There was something about that mamasan that made me want BF her instead. Concur. The much better looking girls are in the gogos. There are at least a handful of pretty things in each bar, much better than the SW (and much younger). The little birdie was recently seen cooling his engines in V8 bar. He observed 16 girls in the bar, 3 customers (1 of them a whale), and all of them do-able. Not a fugly in the bunch.

1. For a 2-night MNL stay, would any of the other red light areas be worth hanging around for?
2. Any referrals for a taxi company to get me from MNL to AC? Or would Bolt etc be a decent option, cost-wise?
My Plan see is to stay in MNL and just use PL for 2 days, if I can find a good few non-mongering things to justify hanging around MNL.

Thanks.I'm spending two nights in Manila on my way to Anilao for a dive trip end of March. I don't think its worth going to AC. Its a long drive, 5 K peso or more to just get there. The Makati bars are more fun (hands on fun, prettier girls) and while the BF plus tip adds up to more, for a short stay I think its a better option to stay in Manila. Also can try PL or SA for some non pro action. Anyway that's my plan.

Grab cars and the new Super Taxi stands have cornered the market in such a short span of time. No longer long lines for them. People flock to them than to take chance of being fleeced by yellow and white. Yellow and white drivers are scratching their ass wondering what the fuck happened?

For a such short stay, I'd probably not go through the hassle of getting to AC and losing hours on the ground in MNL. I usually just stay in MNL for a few few days doing business stuff before venturing off elsewhere and have found that tipping the hotel door and security guys to find you a bit of talent for the night cuts down on spending all your time hunting for it.
As for non-mongering things to see and do in MNL, forget it.
The place is mayhem, and pretty much a shithole like AC.
You'll observe that as you're landing and see all the shanties beside the runway.
Having said that, you'll find something to take your fancy in MNL due to the large population.
And some of us just have a thing about Filipina's that we keep on coming back for.
DG_ Have to agree. The white taxis are terrible from the airport with their meter tactics and all of a sudden, no English tactics. However I haven't had a problem with them getting from a hotel to a bus station or back to the airport, as long as you demand them to turn the meter on before you get in or put your baggage in their boot / trunk.
Yellow taxis used to be a great alternative, but the last time I used one, they wanted 800 p from the airport to Makati on the meter.
I'm a bit behind the rest of the world when it comes to rideshare apps. I did download Grab a few trips ago, but whenever I tried to book a trip, it was showing as 'no car in the area' - or similar. Which I found hard to believe with all the traffic on the road.

After a 14 hour flight I made a rookie mistake outside the airport of jumping in to the back of the first cab I saw, whose driver tried to charge me 3600 to get to Malate. I swiftly jumped back out and found a booth inside for a taxi firm called Joyride. The fare cost 630 and my driver mentioned 'beautiful Filipino girls' before we'd even left the airport car-park.
I'm staying at 1775 Adriatico Suites, which is a cosy hotel around a swimming pool near Remedios Circle. I met my friend Macca at a coffee shop nearby and enjoyed catching up. He's come from Cebu, where he had some frustrating DateinAsia experiences, not least a girl who refused to give him a blowjob without a condom. The inhumanity.
He recommended a small massage shop opposite Robinsons Mall and I thought it would be the perfect way to relieve myself of the aches and pains from my long day of travel. I was woken to a WhatsApp message from the girl I short-timed last night from Midnight Haven, saying 'I love you, see you in bar later, I wait for you'. I knew it would result in a difficult conversation later.
After taking advantage of my hotel's free breakfast overlooking the pool, I met Macca for what proved to be a very enjoyable day of sightseeing. A place serving fried siapao had a queue of about 40 people outside but we found a restaurant filled with locals where I had a beef brisket broth, one of the tastiest things I've had on my travels around Asia. We crossed the river over Jones Bridge, before spending a few hours in the Spanish old town, Intramuros. Kids are very polite and inquisitive in Philippines, we must have been approached five or six times by groups of kids or asked for selfies. Opposite the big church (where a bride-to-be was dropped off for her wedding in a convertible Volkswagon) a line of schoolkids in yellow uniforms highfived us as they walked past. If you find yourself stopping in Manila it's a really nice place to spend an afternoon.
Our original plan had been to go to Makati early evening but foot-weary from our endeavors, we opted to stay in Malate, starting with a drink at G-Point, which turned in to two because a bell rang and free drinks were handed out to all customers. No wonder this place is popular with expats. After disgracing myself at pool, missing ten shots on the black in the second torturous frame, we went to Midnight Haven.
We sat at the same small table in the corner, next to the toilets, and were immediately swarmed by five pretty girls. The in-country transfer apps most widely used will be GCash or Paymaya. Alternately you can get a Cebuana remittance account for in-country transfers. You can use Remitly or other international remittance service to send directly to your girl's GCash account. Besides paying her this way, GC or PM are simple ways to send her taxi / jeepney / motorcycle fare money to get her to your place.

Most of them prefer cash, but I have paid with Gcash a lot of times. I have used Gcash to pay the barfines and the girls many times and it works also, but it is hard to beat cash.

Yes you can change money at the airport just don't change too much. SIM card if you are unfamiliar with how the set up works, I would recommend getting a SIM, load, and promo at the airport. There are booths as you exit for many of the mobile brands, but I would stick to either Smart or Globe. Hand them your phone, tell them you want a 5G SIM, also you would like to purchase load, and have them add the promo for all network talk, text, and surf. That way you are live as soon as you leave the booth. Trust me its easier for them to do everything (if you are not familiar with the process) and you can start your journey in the taxi ride to your destination.

Depends on the girl (to difficult to explain all the different types) but expect to pay for transpo if online. Girls will want transpo to you and ask for a certain amount. The amount is usually based upon angkas or joyride and granted it is "faster" in travel time on a moto as opposed to a car, but until you get use to philipina time its going to be way longer. The cost for a grab standard and a joyride is almost the same, for us it is virtually negligible. It's better to download and set up grab on your mobile and send a car to pick them up. Again if you are not use to Pina time, it will save you a lot of stress.
