I think I'm missing a few but I can only recall ten.
They have a dance show on Fridays called the SOB which some enjoy but you pay around 900 pesos and get a few free drinks. It also means most of the bars are closed while the show is going on so you can't barfine. The SOB is really used to promote the Maze group of bars.
Also, most bars are closed in the daytime and on Mondays so BB can be pretty dead compared to AC which is almost 24-7. The barfine is 4-5 k mostly which is the same as AC. I also found it much harder to get LT in BB because most of the girls are local and want to go home. There is a beach tho, which is nice.

Just got to Subic, and after RTFF, it's true, it's hard to find a message shop that does happy endings!! I went to 3 or 4 today with nothing happening. If anyone know of any, PLEASE let me know. I'm going to keep looking and report any that I find.

I have to thank the folks here for saving my trip to Subic. On my first few nights the bars I went to only had two or three girls, and I though this place sucked. After reading the post listing all the bars I went out again last night. I was blown away at Red Bar, which is fully stocked with girls. Mama called a few young ones down for me to inspect, but I actually wasn't interested in any of them. Hotzone had a lot of girls too, some young and cute, but they were all tattooed. I found a girl I liked at one of the smaller "boring" bars across the street. It only had five girls, but one of the waitresses wore glasses and I am a sucker for nerdy girls. She turned out to be 31, which is ancient for a bargirl, but she was tattoo and baby free. 4,000 PHP for a good BBFSCIP session, and I am a satisfied customer. I never even made it to all the bars there.

This trip report will cover transportation, hotel, restaurants, and bars in Subic Bay. For logistics and other notes, please refer to my trip report in the "Manila" section, #20336.
Transportation:
While in Subic Bay, I did not need any transportation because my hotel was right in the middle of the action. From Angeles City to Subic Bay, I used Beeway and the cost was 3500 for a private car. The trip took 1. 5 hours. From Angeles City to the Manila airport, I used Beeway again and it cost 7000. The trip took 3 hours.
Hotel:
I stayed at the Central Park Reef Resort. It was a great hotel with very nice rooms. The staff and service were excellent. It was right in the middle of all the bars; great location. Was it girl friendly: YES.
The hotel had two pools, one on the first floor and the other was on the sixth floor, and the sixth floor also had a very good restaurant. The views from the restaurant / bar were excellent. All the girls loved that place.
Restaurants:
I did a lot of research before I left and here are my thoughts on the food scene:
Mango – very good.
Jewel – good.
Sit-and-Bull. Good.
Hotel – very good.
Bars:
In each bar, I asked several questions and did my best to write the answers on my trusty note pad. Thus, if I am wrong with any of my notes, feel free to chime in with the correct information. I blew through many bars and will do my best to post the correct information.
All the bars I went to only had one price; the bar fine. The bar fine included the money for the girl. I will write down the information on the bars in the area of my hotel. Most of these bars had an option for a small or regular size lady's drink; so ask! When I write the number of girls, I am combining the dancers and waitresses; all can become take-out, expect at Cheap Charlie.
Bar: Red.

Quality of the girls: OK to very good.

Comments: This was a nice place and was one of my favorites. I also bar fined a cutie, and later, I found out she was a mathematician. Short time was for 3-hours. After 2-hours, she said we were done. I asked her if she was serious. Then she counted, "11,12, 1- 3 hours right?" I gave up and sent her packing.

Comments: This was an older and dumpy place. The bar was out of control with mediocre girls. At one point, there were 6 girls surrounding my old ass and all of them were asking me the same fucking questions. That got old, so I fled.

I only came across a few hotties during my romp; that was disappointing.
I was running out of time, but I tried to go to 2 bars on Sunday and both were closed: Whiskey and Queen Victory.
I stopped by Bella, the club above the 7-11. It turned out to be a karaoke club; no putas there!
I stopped by Chill on Saturday night and it was locked shut. Went by there on Sunday night and it was opened. Hence, I walked in, did not see anyone, and all I heard were crickets.
I was walking by and I noticed this barker in front of a bar, the name was John's (something). It was a smaller bar with loud music. The barker appeared to be a ladyboy and she told me the bar fine was 2000 and there were 3 girls available. Everything seemed weird, so I ran like the wind.
Overall thoughts on Subic Bay:
It does not take a lot of time to walk from one end to another when it came to bars. The bars seemed just like the places in Olongapo and Subic City back in the day; the girls were playful, simple, and fun! Ever though it was only 3-nights; I got a good taste of Subic Bay.
I thought the town was quite safe and I never felt threaten in any manner. As a monger, I was impressed with volume of the bars and girls available. Overall, I had a great time! Would I recommend it to other mongers? Absolutely!

I did stay there before many times when the "you pay after" system was introduced. You did pay when the girl left and by that you decided by performance to let her go after one mediocre shot or only next day lunchtime when you need a rest after too many session.
Now the bars are still the same (most) and the pre paid joiner fees between 3 to 4000 (plus tip? But tell me: it was LT as the girls counted (3 to 4 hours) and not really all night till next morning.

After stopping at AC, I thought nothing else could surprise me. I went to cheap Charlie's as my first bar, it was chill but not the gogo bars I was searching for. I wandered into a bar off the Main Street, can't remember the name now. But you enter, the bar was on your left, stage on the right. I entered and was immediately surrounded by 7-10 girls. After AC, I thought 1 or 2 was really cute, the others were ehhh. I brought beer and maybe a lady drink for 1-2 girls and sat and chill. But the girls swarmed me and they went on rubbing and got me all excited. Next thing I know it, they pulled out my little friend and 3-5 girls were playing and licking. Never had I've been in such a scenario, even I couldn't believe what was happening. It is a rush getting some action in more public place. Transportation:
While in Subic Bay, I did not need any transportation because my hotel was right in the middle of the action. From Angeles City to Subic Bay, I used Beeway and the cost was 3500 for a private car. The trip took 1. 5 hours. From Angeles City to the Manila airport, I used Beeway again and it cost 7000. The trip took 3 hours.
Hotel:
I stayed at the Central Park Reef Resort. It was a great hotel with very nice rooms. The staff and service were excellent. It was right in the middle of all the bars; great location. Was it girl friendly: YES.
The hotel had two pools, one on the first floor and the other was on the sixth floor, and the sixth floor also had a very good restaurant. The views from the restaurant / bar were excellent. All the girls loved that place.
Restaurants:
I did a lot of research before I left and here are my thoughts on the food scene:
Mango very good.
Jewel good.
Sit-and-Bull. Good.

All the bars I went to only had one price; the bar fine. The bar fine included the money for the girl. I will write down the information on the bars in the area of my hotel. Most of these bars had an option for a small or regular size lady's drink; so ask! When I write the number of girls, I am combining the dancers and waitresses; all can become take-out, expect at Cheap Charlie.

Chubby, fat asses?Lots of good info from Tom's report that is useful and appreciated. But judgin from the pics he provided, I got to question his quality index too. If I get TConor correctly, I agree that the girl in those pics doesn't look anything special. Not even a good by many standards, depending on her face. And with all of Toms conclusions that barfine not possible at AC Walking Street clubs in his AC reports, I would provide some friendly advice that he might want to leave the pen and paper at home a few nights, go for a better night at the clubs, and then jot some notes down with coffee over breakfast the morning after. But good on Tom for providing details.

Took a couple of days out of my trip to AC and went to Subic / Barrio. Transport arranged through Wild Orchid resort in AC, a 9 seat minibus operated daily by Thumbstar bar in Barrio close to Central Park Reef hotel, where I stayed. Fabulous hotel, equal or better than CPT. Arrived early but room was ready so happy days. Rested till dark then had a walkabout. After walking up and down, was tempted by a little bar called Annex, seems to be for expats, no girls just drinking chatting and music. Tagged along with one of the regulars and visited Red Bar which had a few girls and not many men. Moved on to Thumbstar which was pretty lively, lots of girls, men too and lots of fun. They have massage ladies as well as the usual girls so I tried a bit of that for a couple of lady drinks. Then decided to scratch an itch by visiting Salomeh, which is a nude dancing bar a few hundred yards along the road towards Subic. 2 minute trike ride. The girls come out just one at a time, with minimal clothes on and sometimes remove every, so yes naked dancing, around a pole but not real pole dancing. Actually it was a bit seedy lifeless, no smiles and not really fun. I left after one beer and probably wouldn't go back. Ticked that box. Supposedly another nude bar in Caldapandayan further along the same road, but I was advised as a foreigner not to go there alone. I went back to the regular bars on the strip, bit disappointed with the quality if the girls in general. Ended up in (I think) voodoo bar where I did meet a young lady who took my fancy to I took her out. BF was 4000 for all nighter, but I only had just over 2 k. She said that was OK to take her out and gave the rest later.
Next afternoon I had a visit from my PL girl who was very good, I have good success with these, they are all freelancers of course, but a bit less worn than the street and bar girls. Evening time went out to bars again, Annex first, then Thumbstar for the rest of the evening. Sat with a nice girl there, just for chatting. I told her that and she was fine with it so just bought her a few drinks and spent a pleasant evening. I got her number and will see her alone next time. That was about it really, back to AC the following morning. I was quite disappointed in the quality of the ladies overall in Subic, but I like the laid back atmosphere compared with AC. Travel time varies wildly depending on when. Friday afternoon is hours longer than Tuesday night. Expect 4+ hours.

Don't ask me about times and so forth, but I know Victory does run that route. From the airport, go to Victory in Pasay and inquire from there. I am sure it is doable.

Private taxis only have significant benefit if you're time poor and want to arrive ASAP or want to leave / arrive in very inconvenient places and getting to / from the station is a drama.

Enjoy. G.Hi Mush _ G's right. I usually take a lot of busses in the Phils, and although the websites and timetables are fairly ordinary when it comes to schedules, they'll get you there and really cheap.
Earlier this year I took up an offer to take a 'comfortable" private van when approached by a staff member on a fastcat leaving Bantayan Island to get me to the airport in Cebu.
It was cheap. However, the van driver stopped at, and slowed down at every opportunity along the way way in small towns to pick up locals for short trips on the way. At one stage there were four of us on the bench seat and a girl on my lap.
A can of sardines moment, but a nice bit of Filipina straddling me for an hour was compensation _ Phil.

It takes about the same time by bus or by taxi, top speed will be almost never reached, due to traffic, and in my opinion the bus is more comfy. Of course you will sweat your ass off in both of them due to the plastic covers on the seats, but if you don't have to stop every 30 min to pee, the bus is the choice. That's not because of the price, but first of all is more safe than a little taxi in case of an accident, you can buy 2 seats if you wish to have more space, and you can meet regular chicks, sometimes great looking ones. Stay away from the vans and speed boats. The vans take more time to reach the destination due to frequent stops, and you may be crammed in like sardines, with your knees to your chin. The speed boats are also crammed, and it will bounce you all over the place when gliding on top of the waves. For short distance trips in the city the trikes are better than taxis because they can elude traffic jams. Taxi is the choice when you're not familiar with the surroundings, you don't know exactly where you have to go, is late, or it looks dangerous around.

If you are going to hit all the spots, your best option is to go via Clark / Angeles. The Philippines doesn't have a lot of direct internal flights but operates on a hub and spoke model mostly through NAIA, CEB and CRK. Just have each lap pass through a different hub as they all have good mongering options in their own right and you can continue onto another regional area that takes your fancy.

I've only ever flown into NAIA and honestly only ever been to Manila (and Boracay for SCUBA), but this time I'm definitely planning on hitting Subic, Sabang, some spots in Mindanao etc. Angeles City is really not at the top of my list, but I can only imagine that getting through customs at CRK has got to be a lot better. The last time I was there it was well past midnight and it took me almost 2 hours to clear customs because there were only 2 clerks on shift. I almost felt bad for them as they were so epically overwhelmed, but I felt worse for me as I was exhausted and had a 19 why / o girl from SA coming to see me in another 4 hours. I was so tired I could barely bang her twice in the 4 hours she stayed, but I got her out of my Airbnb before my lunch date showed up so all was well.
I guess my next steps here are to try to figure out how to get from all the stops I was hoping to hit. You have to fly to either Manila (NAIA) or Clark (CRK). From Clark get a taxi to Dau bus terminal then get a bus (Victory Liner?) to Olongapo. Then get a jeepney / taxi / Grab/trike to Barrio Barreto (Subic). Honestly through Subic is pretty quiet these days. There are a few bars but unless you specifically want to be near the beach you may as well stay in Angeles.

I recently met a girl on the bus heading out of the Buendia bus terminal in Manila on my way to Sabang. A cute little thing, probably about 30. And one that doesn't flush very well at the best of time so yes, vis petty crap. Funnily enough the best vis is actually inside the wrecks not playing around outside them. Some of the wrecks out side of the bay can be relatively clear but they start to get pretty deep.
Remember that the bus goes both ways. Many girls returning home from AC or Sabang / Batangas would be happy for a nice room for a stop over in Manila. Of course, you could be the baller and offer them a ride in your private car / taxi.
I've been a big fan of busses this trip. It saved $$ compared to planes, leaves every hour so requires no preplanning. I suspect if you include check-in times, waiting times, stops in Cebu etc it's often actually faster door to door. I've often woken up, felt like a change and jumped on a bus to another town that morning. Very convenient.

I do the busses not only because they're cheap, but you can mingle with the locals and quite often line up some local contacts.
As for leaving every hour, yes, but the departure times never seem to be what's posted online 'on the hour'.
Having said that, I generally get on a bus and they take off randomly and I never have to wait long before we're on the road.
A good way of seeing the country and mingling with the locals.
And I didn't even get offended on my last trip when I was asked by the conductor if I was a 'senior'.
(By the way, the whole conductor thing is amusing when they're punching tickets, assuming authority and trying to justify their jobs).

For other's benefit, the bars of Bario Barretto form one long strip along the highway. Mangoes to Arizona is a long way. Certainly longer than I would comfortably walk. I normally just stay at one end or the other as there is enough to keep me occupied. There are trikes and jeepneys available but I typically prefer to walk everywhere unless I'm going into town.
Of late, I've stayed at The Pub and radiated out from there.

Much cheaper and higher quality than Manila. Yes, I think Queen Victoria was the bar with the music. Hops and Brews Beer Garden was the best restaurant. I can't wait to go back.

Thanks.I can't say with absolute certainty as things change all the time in PI. However the last time I was there, there was no bar fines. If you ask the mama they will tell you that there is no bar fine, you will need to ask the girl. For me when I was there it was all inclusive, the girl will give you a price for her time and the bar fine. The all inclusive prices varied between girls, ie it was not all the same for the girls in a same bar. What I figure is you pay the girl the next day, and she will take care of the bar fee later to the bar. With that said the girls I chose were 4,5, and as high as 6 k all in overnight. The cheapest I heard while I was there was 2. 5 K ST but since I never do ST I didn't partake.

You can barfine in most bars in Barreto, except the pure bars such as Cheap Charlies. Even in Barcelona which is a sports bar I was told you could barfine for 10 ladies drinks (About 3 k).
I was there in November and paid 4 k and 5 k for LT. The average quality was low but you can find a few cuties. Many bars are closed on Mondays. The main road is a death trap and difficult to cross. I even barfined one girl and took her to Angeles for two days. Then her BF got her messenger and threatened to kill me if I went back to Barreto haha. Maybe he didnt know she worked in a bar?

I really appreciate the info. Yes, I'm basically 'tied' to the Freeport Zone due to business commitments, but I'll try and sneak out to have some fun. Not one really for the KTV scene but I always think outside the square. Welcome to Subic Bay, the previous home of Subic Bay Naval Base.
Caution: Long trip report.
This trip report will cover transportation, hotel, restaurants, and bars in Subic Bay. For logistics and other notes, please refer to my trip report in the "Manila" section, #20336.
Transportation:
While in Subic Bay, I did not need any transportation because my hotel was right in the middle of the action. From Angeles City to Subic Bay, I used Beeway and the cost was 3500 for a private car. The trip took 1. 5 hours. From Angeles City to the Manila airport, I used Beeway again and it cost 7000. The trip took 3 hours.
Hotel:
I stayed at the Central Park Reef Resort. It was a great hotel with very nice rooms. The staff and service were excellent. It was right in the middle of all the bars; great location. Was it girl friendly: YES.
The hotel had two pools, one on the first floor and the other was on the sixth floor, and the sixth floor also had a very good restaurant. The views from the restaurant / bar were excellent. All the girls loved that place.
Restaurants:
I did a lot of research before I left and here are my thoughts on the food scene:
Mango very good.
Jewel good.
Sit-and-Bull. Good.
Hotel very good.
Bars:
In each bar, I asked several questions and did my best to write the answers on my trusty note pad. Thus, if I am wrong with any of my notes, feel free to chime in with the correct information. I blew through many bars and will do my best to post the correct information.
All the bars I went to only had one price; the bar fine. The bar fine included the money for the girl. I will write down the information on the bars in the area of my hotel. Most of these bars had an option for a small or regular size lady's drink; so ask! When I write the number of girls, I am combining the dancers and waitresses; all can become take-out, expect at Cheap Charlie.

I stopped by Bella, the club above the 7-11. It turned out to be a karaoke club; no putas there!
I stopped by Chill on Saturday night and it was locked shut. Went by there on Sunday night and it was opened. Hence, I walked in, did not see anyone, and all I heard were crickets.
I was walking by and I noticed this barker in front of a bar, the name was John's (something). It was a smaller bar with loud music. The barker appeared to be a ladyboy and she told me the bar fine was 2000 and there were 3 girls available. Everything seemed weird, so I ran like the wind.
Overall thoughts on Subic Bay:
It does not take a lot of time to walk from one end to another when it came to bars. The bars seemed just like the places in Olongapo and Subic City back in the day; the girls were playful, simple, and fun! Ever though it was only 3-nights; I got a good taste of Subic Bay.
I thought the town was quite safe and I never felt threaten in any manner. As a monger, I was impressed with volume of the bars and girls available. Overall, I had a great time! Would I recommend it to other mongers? Absolutely!

AT Thumbstar we go always at opening when the bar is empty.
I am shocked how much you pay for the transport. There are so good aircon busses to olangapo. For 400 p (8 usd) you can be in subic.
But ok, I also rarely spent more than 1200 p (22 usd) to hotels. A good sleep and nice location and clean swimpool is all we two need.
The negative point is that the wifi most of the times only works at the frontdesk but for a few dollar you have a sim and data.

I recently stayed in the Freeport Zone due to business and did a day trip to barrio barretto just to check it out.
(By mistake I posted the report in the 'Other Areas' thread).
I'll be back in the Phils for work soon and have a few days to fill in.
I'm thinking about doing barrio barretto for about five days and I've been checking out accommodation options.
There's not much available for the dates I have in mind.
Basically I have Wild Orchid and Arizona to choose from and a few others.
I've stayed at WO in AC, and although it was aging, it wasn't bad.
Arizona just looks to be in a better position to walk to some action.
I might be wrong.
I always prefer a room with a balcony or some sort of terrace to relax with a few SML's of an afternoon.
Any advice would be appreciated _ Phil.

All I recall about Arizona is that the rooms are dated, the place does not have a friendly vibe (seems more like a private club that is open to the public) and they have a policy of no outside food and drink. Seriously. That alone made me want to leave after a couple of days. Have fun!

On baloy, the mangrove was good, and another one couple down from there was good also, but kind of requires a trike ride to and from on baloy. As far as Arizona, I love to eat there, the food and staff are great, but the accomodations well, depends on what you like and can live with. Central park I tried last time I was there, and it was a great location with very comfortable accomodations.

I can't remember the name, but it is further down the road on the same side as the mangrove. Many many years ago, I use to start my walk from Arizona and make my way back, but at night Arizona is quite a far walk, not so many bars as before so expect to be walking (crossing the street is whole nother adventure).

G.The bar at the Arizona is the furthest one to the South with Queen Victoria being the furthest one to the North. They are 850 meters apart, not miles. Easy bar hop to walk from bar to bar and end up at QV. If you don't want to walk there are trikes everywhere which will take you to any bar for less than a dollar.

I'll be back next month. I have a bit of work to do in the Freeport Zone and also a cheap dental appointment, but have decided this time to stay in Barretto and commute in each day.
Gone are the days when the FZ could land you some great talent and FL's. I'll try the Manana as I've heard a few good reports.
(Had a few other options in mind, but they were booked out on the days I'll be there).

I think I mentioned before, I tried The Pub in March while checking out Barretto for the first time when I was based in the Freeport Zone. A lot of guys like it, but it was pretty basic ie: budget, and I never really expected anything else.
Just had an issue back then, reserving a room on Booking and showing up to be told the balcony room I'd reserved was sold out.
(I'm just one who needs a bit of fresh air and not imprisoned in a hotel room, unless the horizontal Olympics are in action).
The other issue I had, was the girl on the desk trying to process a credit / debit payment for the night's stay out of sight and with the terminal hidden behind a printer.
I would normally pay cash, but she insisted, that because I'd booked through Booking.com I had to pay with the card I'd put on file with them.
Fair enough, but do the transaction in front of me.

A bit of a late first report as the rain has been non-stop and the internet really patchy.
As mentioned before, I usually stay in the Freezone for work to look slightly 'professional', however I've decided to commute from Barretto when I have to.
My initial thoughts are I much prefer Subic to Angeles. The long strip of spread out attractions and without everything concentrated in one area appeals. Plus it's close to the water.
I stayed the first five days at Manana and it was great and close to all the action. Cheap, clean and really nice staff.
Now although I don't do the girly bars and rely on freelancers, I've checked a number out just for a beer and a peek. Talent appears to be so-so with a few hotties here and there, and they're not very busy during the rainy season. I didn't get into pricing as that's been covered excessively in this thread recently. The biggest noticeable thing was the lack of a Korean influence. Speaking to a few expats, the Americans, UK and Australians still seem to run the show here, which is a relief.
As for my freelance exploits, the phone's been pinging with Pina Love contacts with quiet a few to weed through but scored a few 6-7's so far. Price has been 3000 p for an average two hour stint with no shot limit. I usually have a look at Locanto when I'm on the road and have done okay out of it in the past. But don't bother here. About four hot profiles on there but they all want a 2000 p deposit (instant scam).
Got into a bit of trouble when I had three different Maria's as contacts on WhatsApp. Was getting mixed up and was sending messages to Maria 1 that were intended for Maria 2 who intern got messages intended for Maria 3. I've learnt to concentrate while on the Tanduay.
I had a few beers at Cheap Charlies and have got one contact from there. Just waiting for her to have a day off work, as I'm usually pretty rooted when they finish at Midnight. Quite pretty with a hot bod, however most of the chubby chicks working there look like they should be packing a rugby scrum. One must have got a start and then managed to get her chunky friends jobs there. Didn't get sucked into the 250 p lady drinks, apart for a couple for the girl I'm meeting up with.
Anyway, have a local lined up for a 630 session when she finishes work this arvo. Once again 3000 p and 50 p trike fare home. Seems to be the going FL rate you can quite comfortably negotiate without and strict demands for time limits and shot restrictions.

Well on a whole Subic has been quiet fruitful, even with the freelance scene.
Sure there have been better results over time elsewhere, but the job got done in the end.
A few days ago I was having a few afternoon beers outside Dynamite Dicks and got chatting to a local girl.
The usual questions were asked, "Do you have a wife? Do you have kids? Do you have a Filipina girlfriend?
"No, no and no".
So over the past few days she's dropped around at 700 pm after work for a two hour session on average.
The agreed amount was 3000 p per session.
Funny, she'd take it in the shower without a condom, but not in bed.
(We spent a fair amount of time in the shower).
Average looks, but into pretty much everything.
I wanted to have a night off last night because I was heading back to Manila fairly early today.
But you could tell she was hungry for that last payment.
When she persisted, I just had to say "Sorry, I'm busy with work tonight".
"Well. I come 630 in the morning sir before I go to work".

I spent five days there earlier this week and the joint's looking really tired.
Lawns unmown, flooded car parks, in need of a good coat of paint etc etc.
I stayed beachfront (if you could call it a beach) and the rooms were great, but the frontage grassed area was just full of clutter.
You can tell from the interior of the main building, that it was quite a grand old place at one stage.
They have some old photos up of how the place once looked and it's surprising management doesn't take a look to replicate that again.
Meals were expensive and pretty average and it was much better to eat at Harleys over the road.
It was also sad to see that there were hardly any other guests at the time.
Staff were great, but I wouldn't return.
I can imagine once upon a time it was quite lively and full of action.

No idea where would you get the customers to recoup your investment? There is a condo project going on near the end of Baloy Beach Road but it looks like a scam.

Same thing on my island, was deserted until few years ago, when some asshole vloggers put it on the map: On the touristy spots prices had risen into the millions of USD, unrealistically high because 95% of the tourists are filipino, renting rooms with bunkbeds in, where the whole extended family can sleep. And by the power of illogically imitation, the prices on the rest of the island, for lots that could be purchased before for $1-5 K located in the shittiest places, with no utilities near by, now the asking price is 10 X. Of course nobody ever purchased any property, but the prices are firm, waiting for visitors from outer space to come and maybe buy some land. In the mean time the government somehow got the news about the rising prices, and came and bulldozed all the structures within 50 m from the seashore, now it's all fucked up kind of like El Nido a few years back and nobody can sell anything, low or high. This is a prime example of imbecilic herd mentality, that resulted in the opposite outcome than expected.

Let's face face it. If it wasn't for sex and companionship, you wouldn't go to Barretto when you can find more scenic beach-side places elsewhere.
Last month when I was at Wild Orchid, an Australian guy I was speaking to, had connections to it. Apparently it was owned by a Filipina, now living in New Zealand, whose former Australian husband owner had passed. I think he was his nephew, and was there to sort things out.
I think he was out playing golf and having a good time, as opposed to a business trip, from observation.
Anyway, It was sad visiting a place that was booming with mongers and their girls back in the day. I think the only way to save it, is give it a good coat of paint and make it a hedonism resort like they do in Jamaica. Ie: a sex resort.
Obviously a better business plan than having discounted locals, and allowing them to set up camp for a weekend with their portable barbeques and karaoke boom boxes annoying the fuck out of you with their bad singing while you're mid-stroke.

I laughed when they told me 12,000 per square meter. That equals 214,000 USD for a 1/4 acre lot. They think its waterfront in Fort Lauderdale.
Forgive me for butting in but this, in my ignorance, would be how I see the scene. All property markets are local so Detroit is not Fort Lauderdale and nor is it Angeles or Subic.
On the macro scale, being near the stock market and the CBD boosts value (ask the Donald). Further down the chain, a successful pub would be between a bookies and a church, the former for keeping the mugs there during the day and the latter for cashing in on funerals and the like.
Switching to Red (Walking) St, there are a handfull of properties in the hands of key players and they will only sell up for giantly inflated and unrealistic prices. Allied to that, you have the small fry, who rent on an annual lease but see their rents jacked up every year, meaning they can never get ahead. Then you have the Koreans and their money, dirty and otherwise, who may very well end up owning the whole lot.
I have priced a few establishments in Angeles and they don't make sense, in my world, as investments. One small hotel I looked at is vastly overpriced even at 90% occupancy (though it is freehold) and that is before the massive refurbishment it needs. Though the guy wants to sell it, he is not pushed either way.
There are foereigners running small establishments. There is a Welsh guy at the back of Johnnys who runs a bar and walks around it all day bare chested, drinking beers with his buddies. A friendly guy, he seems to have a lot of other stuff on, but selling beers and English fries swimming in oil seems like a long and sweaty road to me, and that is the key, not to beleive there are shortcuts there or anywhere else.
I think the mistake foreigners might make is thinking there are short cuts. There are a lot of Pinoys trying to make it in barber shops, nail salons and all kinds of money making ventures. But the rents and the class divisions have them screwed. When Jollibee is haute cuisine and Red Horse is the wine of choice, the top of the market is well and truly capped.
I would like people to prove me wrong but unless you are young and aggressive, I can't see an upside unless you can get some sort of niche market.

I prefer Barrio Baretto in Subic Bay over Angeles. It's just a little farther than Angeles but has a beach and daytime activities other than just day drinking. I've been to Subic (BB) about 6 times in the past two years, and Angeles (AC) 10 times. I went to Subic because they have a beach and there was one girl that I liked.
The price of girls is about the same in Subic and AC, 5-6 k for LT and 3-4 k for ST. However, it seems harder to get LT in Subic because a lot of girls live locally whereas in AC they still travel from other areas and live in a stay-in provided by the bar. That makes it easier to get LT in AC.

I think if you are torn and think you should try it only book a day or two to start, don't commit to more as you might regret it. I figure Friday and Saturday are the busiest it will be like most venues like that. Early week will probably be very dead, even AC is but at least there are lot more bars. If you are bringing your own friend, then that would be lot different scenario.Subic is a good place to get laid after arriving to do other things (meet friends who live there, escape the rat race of Angeles, have a dive etc). I wouldn't plan a whole holiday around going there to hook up.

G.At a first glance upon my unplanned return to Subic this fall, it looked like shit, and deserted, but like everywhere else, if you take your time and look around, you'll always find the unexpected. In PH everything looks like that when you first arrive, even if you stay here and are used to it, when you leave and return it takes 2-3 days to readapt, and see what needs to be seen.

I spent some time in Subic earlier this year, and I'll admit, it was a slow start but I found the rewards with freelancers. I did a cheap hotel on the main road to start with and then moved down to Wild Orchid. That place has had its day. Sad to see, as it must have been pumping with fun back in the day. Still no probs with bringing girls back though.

It still seems to be a bit more laid-back, and the Koreans haven't taken over. Yet.
I've been to Subic (BB) about 6 times in the past two years, and Angeles (AC) 10 times. I went to Subic because they have a beach and there was one girl that I liked.Yes Pussy, it's closer to the water but the beaches are shit and not what you'd expect from a country that promotes itself as the land of thousands of islands. I'd still take Subic over Angeles.
