View Full Version : Bangkok Hotels
Thanks for the details. I will spend my last night of the trip there.I would recommend the Westin, Sofitel, JW or the Sheraton Grande as it is right on the strip, very close proximity to Nana, Beergarden and Cowboy. Prices in Spasso is atrocious and the service is hurried and unsatisfactory in most cases. Much better and cheaper selections on the strip. Having a hotel within walking distance has its advantage. Prices for the room are comparable at any of these properties. If someone is on a budget, I recommend Admiral Suites on Soi 22 or Livingstones on Soi 33 as already recommended by a fellow monger. Plenty of bars and massage joints all around to take your pick.

ZIf you choose to stay at the newly opened Sofitel, be sure to troll a bit on Google for a fast track to Platinum status with Accor's loyalty club "Le Club". You'll get things like upgrade, lounge access, late check out etc if you just book a standard room.
Hi All,
I have done the RTFF but still cannot decide on which hotel to stay when I come to BKK next in early May. I very much wanted to go to Spasso at the Grand Hyatt, but I also like to stay at the Banyan Tree because of the Vertigo Moon Bar, where I would very much like to bring a girl to before taking her back to my room.
Looks to me Banyan Tree does not have a popular bar like the Spasso right? Is there another hotel with a good pickup bar as well as a romantic roof top bar? Or I can stay in Banyan Tree and go to Spasso to pickup someone and taxi back?
Thanks for any recommendations.

There is no club there but after 10 o clock in the evening it takes 5 min and max 200 bahts to go there from center.
That is where I stayed 2 years ago for my first to BKK
You can have fun at the balcony of your room as well.

Thanks for any recommendations.I can understand your dilemma, but I would suggest not choosing a hotel solely based on what's in the basement or on the roof. You can always jump in a taxi and visit these places you mentioned.
I've only ever visited one roof top bar in Bangkok. It's on top of Fraser Suites and called Above Eleven. Prices for drinks and food are a lot more reasonable than the more popular ones. For something truly romantic, go for the sunset.
Above 11 on top of Fraser Suites, Sukhumvit Soi 11.
Check out the view from the hong naam!
Hi All,

Thanks for any recommendations.By RTFF you should have formed an opinion already. If you didn't I don't know how 2-3 additional posts will help. It is also a matter of approach. You seem to prefer an hotel with inhouse club. This might work well in some other towns, I am thinking at Dubai, at Sinagpore, but it is not a must. Otherwise those clubs will be patronised only by hotel guests. And they are not. Worth mentioning that those clubs tend to have girls demanding more money for the same pussy you might find elsewhere.
Bangkok is such an incredible town where RTFF is useful to have an idea of the places, mod what one can find. But it is not worth getting crazy with an agenda of "to do's". You will not do all and you will also skip lots of opportunities following the agenda.
RTFF got you familiar with the scene, the places, the prices. Just jump in the pool and swim.

Thanks for any recommendations.Hotels in Bangkokare for f*cking and sleeping and many agonise over where to stay. As long as a hotel is clean, has good a / see (quiet) , has en suite and is gf there
Really is no point in agonising over where to stay.
Bangkok is not a city for sitting around in an hotel but for getting out, sussing the bars, girl watching and having fun.
I never bother too much in a new place. And only partially unpack the first night in case I decide to move on.
In Bangkok I have my favourite. Not everybodies but provides what I want. Plus it has in-house entertainment.
Spend your time before your visit planning what you will do and expect your plans to be totally be*gg*ed on Day 1.
Enjoy

ZZenlove, I sincerely appreciate the advice, and will heed it.
I have a free night coming from Hyatt (their credit card annual award and I don't want to let it lapse again)
So I will have a look at the "view" from the hyatt (after spending more time at more convenient locations.)

Stayed at VIE Hotel not too long ago. Guest friendly and steps away from BTS Ratchathewi. Here are some photos of what to expect.
After much RTFF and getting some replies to my original post, I am still having a hard time deciding on where to stay. Maybe some background will be help:
I will be coming to BKK for only for one weekend, two nights.
I am coming with my GF, yes, bringing sand to the beach, but she is open to the idea of going to a nice bar to pick up a classy girl so we can try threesome.
Zenlove's post suggested the main strip with all the bars are around Westin, Sheraton Grande area, but I really like a hotel like Banyan Tree that has really trendy bars with great views. So is there another 5-star hotel on the main strip that can compare to Vertigo Moon Bar? I really want to just take the girls into the room when they are in the mood, so travelling to a different hotel is out of the question. I can see the pickup bar can be in a different place, but preferablly all in walking distance, as it is my first trip to Bangkok.
OS
Thanks Akumas and lmrzcogs3, somehow I didn't see your posts earlier. These look really nice too. The lebua State Tower looks to also have a rooftop bar as well?
I got it that all these places are 5 to 10 mins after 10pm by taxi, I guess even to the Banyan Tree area from the center.

OSGuys. Just imagine the indecision when he has to pick up a 'classy girl' for a threesome. By the time he makes up his mind.
The trip will be over and any likely 'classy girl' will have long left with her BF of the night.

So why don't you stay at this hotel instead of waffling all over. If you can't decide I fear you will have a big decision about which girl to pick up (maybe an LB for a perfect 3 some). For chrissakes you are there for a weekend only. No need to make a big drama over it. Get to BKK, get in to the hotel and go to the bars for a pickup and enjoy.
Yeah, don't spend too much time researching the hotel. For a weekend it's a non-issue. You can't see my posts immediately because my posts are approved before you can see them.

OSLebua has an excellent trandy roof bar that you can not go in with slippers type shoes and aroud 9 oclock they had a live jaz singer. But you have to check it.
I highly recommend the 'sex on the balcony' option.
It is very near to river also about 2 km away from the Banyan Tree.

I have a suggestion.
Clearly "Old South" has a serious problem. Given his post he may have difficulty getting dressed since he won't know which sock to put on first. But he could provide a useful service during his brief visit by abandoning his idea of a threesome (he will never decide which cutie to choose) and doing a tour of all the hotels recommended by kind members in a multitude of posts and coming up with a definite recommendation. His 'sand to the beach' could give a female's perspective on which hotel she most prefers.
Called, I believe a win-win situation.
Yeah, don't spend too much time researching the hotel. For a weekend it's a non-issue. You can't see my posts immediately because my posts are approved before you can see them.Ok OK, it is just a weekend but maybe my only chance in my life to come to BKK, so I will just split the two nights on two hotels so I can get a better feel of the place then. I just have never been to BKK and by just reading and looking at hotel photos, I cannot find another hotel that has the view and the style of the Banyan Tree and yet it is not on the main area.

OSWhen you ask the reception they open the balconies at the risk of the client.
So on the 30+ floor up, seeing the river view you do what ever you want on the balcony.
Ofcourse you take the risk of being seen by some naibors.
I had the oportunity and made some part of my threesome experience with Cherry and Khan (ex mango girls) onthe balcony.
Somehow girls enjoyed it as well.

OSNo way spending two nights in separate hotels is going to give you any feel for Bangkok. Hotels are the oases away from the reality of Bangkok and in many you.
Will recognize all the features of hotels in any capital city. If it is your only chance to come to Bangkok. Focus on seeing Bangkok, not on the interior of some.
International chain of hotels.
Go to a small hotel full of locals to get an idea of Bangkok life; I doubt that many of us have tried them

My favorite one is Red Sky, Centara World.
Lebua and Banyan Tree just get way too crowded for my liking.
Also, I thought the food was better at Red Sky.

OSHonestly, too much expectations, too much programming, too much indecision. Beware, man, you will end up in moving from one hotel to the other, check out at noon, check in at 3pm, got settled. Time runs. And you will waste a too long awaited BKK weekend.
You will not get any feeling, you will just be busy in wandering around.
Like Japanese European bus tours in 10 days, touching half a dozen capitals.
Ticking a lot of boxes but no clue on where they have been about.

http://www.bangkok.com/top10-rooftop-bars.htmExcellent, this is very useful list indeed, and sure enough, Banyan Tree top the list, so looks like I better stay there after all, but now I can find a second hotel for my 2nd night.
To Bionicman, switching hotel is no big deal as we travel light. 10 min to pack and check out and check in usually is also just 10 min, or I hope to be the case in any 5 star.
I have never been to BKK, and between wife and GF, I may never have chance again in my life, and some of these hotels look so spectacular that I really want to soak in as much as possible.

OSJust FYI, the Skybar (Lebua State Tower) probably has the very best views of any of them, especially at night. The atmosphere, with the band playing, is very nice. Some might even say romantic. However, since Hangover II came out, it's jam packed with tourists. Also, the drinks will run you about $20 each, and are shit. Not "The shit," just shit. Banyan Tree's bar is a bit better, but the view isn't quite as good.

I have been looking around for the "perfect" hotel for my trip in May. I have been looking at Livingstones (a little bit too far off for me) , Ruamchitt (seems to old and smoking is allowed in all rooms) , Cozyat10 (looks alright but no breakfast) , Paradiso also in Soi 10 (looks very ok, breakfast included but they haven't answered booking email for 24 hours).
So today I found what I think is the perfekt hotel, seems to have everything. New, top location, breakfast. You name it! On8 Sukhumvit Hotel with entrace both from Nana BTS-station and first sub-soi to the right in Soi 8.
Good price for deluxe room 23 sqm, just under 2000 baht.

I can not find anybody written about this hotel before, so I will write a review when I am there.

OSA man wants to see / enjoy Bangkok. And he fusses about staying in an hotel which will be just like many hotels all over the world. If he wants an international.
Hotel. Go stay at the Oriental. Or the Peninsula. All the hotels on the river at least give some insight into Thai life. And if "the hotel" is the draw of Bangkok.
Being near Skvt is just a waste of time.
No woman can pack / unpack in ten minutes. Takes 30 minutes to organize the make up alone in the bathroom on arrival and thirty minutes to
Find everything and check / re-check / re-check that nothing is left behind on departure. And he obviously has no experience of Thai check out;
Ten minutes to check the mini-bar 'because they don't trust you is a minimum. And if you query an item on the bill you will have to wait for the duty
Manager and his boss to be found to resolve the query.
Is there indecision on his company? Is it wife? Or GF? Or GF picked up to make threesome. If it is wife or GF that is coming then stand by for further.

I only like asian girls, so aside from finding a Thai / Viet girl in HK / Shanghai, it is more likely I will have better success in the ultimate source. The main problem is to explain to everyone else why I travel to the sex capital of the world. You guys count yourself lucky that you don't need to explain to anybody.
As for wine, I understand. I have seen many girls in China really enjoy fine wine, so maybe it depends on where I find the girl. I hope I don't have to use the like of Bangkok Gold Escorts.

OSWhy do you have to explain a visit to Bangkok? It is a thriving international city with a vast cultural history and I doubt that more than 10 percent of tourists regularly avail
Themselves of the delights of young slim bargirls and MP ladies. I find plenty to do every day which does not involve mongering and I have been to Bangkok perhaps.

I haven't been to BKK in too long and looking forward to going back this season. First time I went I stayed at the Solitaire (great rooms but slightly too far to walk to the bars). Last time I was there I think (can't remember!) I stayed at the GP. Actually it was in some serviced apartments behind the GP hotel itself but also belonged to the GP. Is the GP the huge one with the tailor shops in the lobby, a massive outdoor pool? On the same soi as the Solitaire but closer to the action?
Anyway, I've heard about some ultra modern, newer hotels that have been built since I was there, but not sure of the names or if they are in walking distance of nana. Any reccomendations?

1. There have been 300 posts since the end of 2012 on this thread. Not all of them specifically on hotels but there is enough information already here for you to do some research rather
Than expecting members to repeat what they have already posted.
2. Research on Trip Advisor could well yield more information that you will gather here.
3. We have had a series of posts from Mr Indecisive (poster now vanished) who was a troll; I suspect we are again going to question anyone who comes on here with an unanswerable question.

I normally stay at the Grand President on Soi 11. With a month to go to my next trip, I was looking at the wotif. Com website to see what was being offered. There were several "mystery" deals with "5 Star" hotels on Suk. Listed around 3, 000 bt per night.
I was wondering what anyone's experience was with wotif. Com and what "5 Star" hotels it features normally. Other than the "mystery" deals, the only other prices seem to be the normal rack rate for the hotels listed on the website.

The room had a sofa and a refrigerator, but it was not a mini-bar. This was the first hotel in ages that I've stayed in that didn't have a mini-bar. I don't mind that too much since I don't usually partake the mini-bar since they usually charge too much.
At Aloft, I stayed in their "Chic" room. I think the room was larger than the deluxe at GP. In particular, the bathroom is much much nicer than at GP. And as mentioned before, the bed is huge. Looks to be larger than king. And it was a very comfortable bed.
As someone else mentioned, at 5 star hotels, the extras are much more expensive. The mini-bar charged something like 90 baht for a coke. The 30 baht at the hotel I stayed in Pattaya was a bargain by comparison. The breakfast at Aloft is expensive as well. I don't recall the price, but I believe it was more than 300 THB.
The pool at the GP is too hot. It gets direct sunlight for much of the day. The pool at Aloft is in the shade much of the time. Also, the pool goes all the way to the edge of the building so you have a nice look down soi 11.
One think I liked about my Grand President room was that the power was not dependent on the keycard. So I could leave the AC on at a reasonable temperature, rather than setting it really low on arrival, then wake up in the middle of the night freezing.
Aloft is farther up Soi 11, so if you are a walker then take that into account. However, they have a free tuk tuk service. They will give you a ride to either BTS or MRT, or they will pick you up if you call them. I used this service once while heading to the hotel from the MRT. It took about 8 minutes for them to pick me up from the time I called.
RBD,
Thanks for the detailed analysis of the hotels.
When I stayed in the GP Jr Suite, the refrigerator was filled with drinks and served as a "mini-bar". Normally, I just ask them to empty it and I go down the street to the Villa Market and stock up on drinks that I prefer and a gallon of bottled water so I have chilled water any time of the day. The last time I left, I did not get around to finishing off the beer and soda that I got at Villa, so the staff benefited from that trip.

Majestic Suites have never been even close to 100 US dollars a night. Maybe about 50-60 US.
Maybe you are thinking of the sister hotel Majestic Grande? To Ken
Yes correction it is Majestic Grande that I mean I have stay in both sorry I alway get the two mix up, the Majestic Grande is the big 4 star hotel with a nice pool and Majestic suite is a small hotel with small room for tourist on a budget.

The pool at the GP is too hot. It gets direct sunlight for much of the day. The pool at Aloft is in the shade much of the time. Also, the pool goes all the way to the edge of the building so you have a nice look down soi 11.Don't they have shade umbrellas at the GP pool? I really prefer a hotel pool with direct sun all day long. Then I have the shade option if I want it if I am getting too toasty. With the Aloft pool there is no sun option. That kills the deal for me. Otherwise the Aloft looked like a pretty good modern hotel.
I was staying at the Grande Centre Point T21 hotel for almost 2 weeks and I wanted a change of scenery. The T21 has a great pool with fantastic views and all day sun (umbrellas always available). When I stay up near Sukhumvit near Asok and beyond (which I almost always do) , I never manage to find the time or have the late night inclination to hit the Soi 11 clubs. But on this trip, I wanted to spend some quality time on Soi 11. So I thought that if I move to Soi 11 for Friday and Saturday night, it would be impossible not to go to clubbing and do the street up right. I almost booked a room at the GP. The pool was the main attraction aside from their very reasonable rates, but then I found a pretty good deal at the Fraser Suites for the 60 sq. Meter 1 bedroom deluxe suite (3200bt / night) and took it. The room was upscale and very good. My view looked down on Soi 11 and the Aloft Hotel kiddy corner down across the street. The Fraser pool was a little small for a hotel of this size and it had mostly afternoon sun, but I made the most of it.
I had a great if somewhat short time on Soi 11. I liked the ambiance of this Soi. I do not like Sukumvit below Soi 11 anymore. I ate dinner at one of those street food stalls. It was good. Early Friday evening, as I was walking down the Soi and minding my own business; I spotted a cute girl and her friend walking down Soi 11 towards Sukhumvit. I smiled as I came up to the girls and said hello. The girls smiled back and gave me the Sawasdee kaa. Then the cute one asked me where I was going. I said, I don't know. Then she took my hand and asked me to come with her. Yada, Yada, Yada. It turned out the girls were walking to their massage parlor. It was one of those small shops in the Ambassador arcade. I was surprised how pretty J was considering her place of work. Anyway, I walked with her to her shop and then after checking out the two rooms in the place, I decided to take her out of the massage parlor back to my suite at the Fraser. That was Friday night and Saturday night was more or less the same. I can't believe it, but I never made it to Climax (LOL). Next time for sure!
Looking for a hotel in lower Suk with a soft latex mattress like the Nana has but had enough of the Nana.

"deluxe" is a euphemism for basic standard room at many Hotels. The true 5-star hotels provide a king bed in the king rooms. For example, I've had what in the States is called an eastern king bed at the Hotel Muse, Intercontinental and JW Marriott. The Hotel Maduzi has a true king size bed in their 49 sq meter rooms and beds that are larger than a king in their 53 and 63 sq meter rooms. Great when you're romping with two or more girls!
I'd love to say at Centrepoint T21 but hear its very pricey. Can anybody suggest a way to get a discounted rate? Through the hotel or Agoda or some other way? What about continent Hotel? Any discounts available there?

I just spent two nights at the majestic suites. It's a budget joint with a bit of dress up. 1600 bath per night from agoda when I paid for it. Check in was easy and reasonably quick. Room was clean and good sized, low water pressure so butt gun was useless, some fuzzy international tv channels. The beds in the 1600bath rooms are on god damned wheels so housekeeping can do their work easy, this also makes the bed move around the room if you as much as fart in them. If you like nana plaza the location is excellent, the same is also a drawback. Forget about sleeping before the plaza closes down if you have a room in the back. Big book of shame at the reception desk where guests sign in and out. No fuzz at all. Check out was a two minute affair, might have been the small pile of change I left or maybe they actually work at work. Mixed guests, indian couples, farang business ladies and so on if that is important to someone.
4 star + quality and new. Actually intended to stay at S15 but somehow booked this one accidentlly due to brain fade. Was upgraded to better room it seems. Room was 2 level with stairs up to the bedroom and bathroom. A bit strnage really and not good if you are drunk. Room had kinchette and small lounge downstairs. Bathroom has separate shower (good). Bed very large indeed easily big enough for 3 persons or more. True king-size I think.
Difficult to work the curtains over 2 storey length. Downstairs had no desk to wok at so had to use kitchen bench which was really not wide enough.
Did not try the breakfast as was busy with the girl. Nice pool on 8th floor opposite reception.
Overall I thought they tried to be stylish but failed on the basics of no work desk / table and 2 levels / storeys a bit too much of a gimmick.
Previous night the girl told me she was taking me to "Insomnia" club but it turned out to be "Insanity" so her English is not the greatest. Speaking Thai at the disco was somewhat useless. Only one in 3 of waiters / waitresses had ever heard of "Diet coke" or "Coke Light". I guess if they were smart they would work elsewhere. Its tough to avoid sugar here in Thailand (to maintain my weight loss) as the Thais often just fail to understand what "no sugar" means.
The Girl was a bit drunk and I was not. She thought the Hotel was pretty good and I was satisfied. However will move back to somewhere better for doing work.

I found the layout of the room fancy and all that crap but not very practical. I also reacted on no workdesk and the kitchenbench where used for computerrelated businesses (the bench was to high to do girls on). The breakfast and the giant bed upstairs was on the plus side. During breakfast they did have one chef designated to make omelettes. I think I paid 4200 or 3800BHT per night (don't recall wich number).

A true king-size bed, technically an Eastern King as opposed to a California King, is 76 inches or 193cm wide. The California King is four inches narrower and four inches longer than an Eastern King. The beds in the S31 are 240cm wide, as are the beds in the Studio 53 and Studio 63 rooms at the Hotel Maduzi. These 240cm wide beds are about 18 1/2 inches wider than the king-size beds in hotels that provide true king-sized beds. The extra width is nice when you're having a romp with two ladies; and this is the sole reason I have stayed at each of these hotels. Of course I probably should not be telling other ISG members about why I like these hotels. Everyone else will stay there and I won't be able to get a room. By the way, I think the comments about the S31 are spot on. When I checked in I took an upgrade to the duplex suite. As soon as I saw the room's configuration I went downstairs and switched to a junior suite. In a sentence I think S31 is trying to be a luxury boutique hotel but doesn't pull it off. I prefer the Hotel Maduzi, though it can be more expensive than the S31. The Maduzi's rates fluctuate wildly. A Studio 53 can run from about US$175 to US$115.
Try.

Just read some reviews on Centrepoint Terminal 21 and they were not very flattering for a 5 star hotel. Think I'll look at Continent, Silq, and Sacha's Uno. Anybody stay at Silq or Sacha's Uno recently? I'm really trying to stay close to the BTS and Cowboy.

It is pretty good although breakfast area a bit small. I preferred Admiral Premier but took Silq when AP was too expensive (AP is popular for tours and when fullish the prices go right up). Its an advantage to be so close to both BTS and MRT and Soi Cowboy.
Many staff do not understand Thai (From Myanmar I guess) but okay English.

Wow. Just read some reviews on Centrepoint Terminal 21 and they were not very flattering for a 5 star hotel.I have stayed at the Centre point T21 a number of times and I liked it. The rate was $103 / night for a deluxe premium room (40 sq. Meters) with breakfast. It is not a 5* hotel and at that rate it is foolish to expect it to be. But it is a solid 4* plus hotel. The location is really good with Cowboy right across the street, Thermae a couple blocks down Sukhumvit the other way, and the BTS and MRT right there. And the pool is fantastic. I know I will stay here again. I prefer it over the Grand Millennium across the street. The GM has slightly better rooms, but their pool is a joke.
On customer service:
I missed my connecting flight to BKK. Lufthansa put me on the next Thai Air flight from Rome to BKK the next day and put me up at the Rome Hilton Airport Hotel ($200 / night) for free including dinner and breakfast vouchers. I had a prepaid reservation in BKK at Grande Point Center Point T21 made through Expedia ($103 / night deluxe premium room with breakfast). I contacted Expedia about the late arrival and asked them to cancel the first night reservation due to the flight delay. Expedia put me on hold while they tried to contact the hotel. I waited for over 10 minutes and then hung up.
So I arrived the next day (24 hours late) at the Grande Center Point T21 Hotel around 6am. I had a 12 day reservation. The attractive reservation clerk said my room was ready. I asked her about a refund for the first night. She told me that under the circumstances it was not hotel policy to issue a refund since they were not notified sufficiently in advance, but they were aware of my situation and were going to upgrade my reservation to the grand suite (65 sq. Meters) a $200 / night room at no extra cost for the entire remainder of my stay. Would that be all right? I smiled and said thanks. The suite on the 22nd floor was waiting for me at 6am.
Of course the hotel is GF. I have invited girls to the pool for a swim (they loved it) and entertained 2 girls in my suite on a couple of occasions.

They even say under maps that it is 1km from Sukhumvit and Soi Cowboy.
That is a very busy road and I would not like to walk anywhere from that hotel on it.
It is more like the 200m from Petchaburi subway that the website says.
So that leaves taxis everytime you are out.
Location would not be attractive to me. But thanks anyway.

I have been to much worse discos in Bangkok where sound quality was bad, ventilation pathetic, and completely idiot DJ. I usually go only because the young girl wants to.

( I read the 2300bt rate as the nightly rate available for a 7 day or longer reservation which is a pretty good deal all things considered for a 3.5* plus BKK Sukhumvit suite hotel.)

Search for Bangkok andd then narrow down your choice (use the list of options on the left hand side of the screen) and look for the Asoke area. That is very near to both Soi Cowboy and Nana, both places are famous for their night life.
I am a big fan of the Citadines 23 hotel which has nice little studios within walking distance of Soi Cowboy. My personal record is less than 10 minutes between taking her out of her club and having her naked in my arms in my hotel room in Citadines 23.
Presently however, I am staying in Livingstone's Lodge Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 33, which is in its own night life area which seems to be a bit more Japanese oriented. It is a nice little boutique hotel, very quiet and totally guest-friendly, they even have their own hostess bar in the hotel: How's that for convenience and service?

Citadines 23 was a Hotel that did not impress me enough to ever stay again, however its probably at least 3 years ago now. Tansak had warned me, I tried it anyway, and had to conclude he was right. Very disinterested staff back then and grumpy. Rang me too early disturbing my sleep to ask what time I would check-out. Beds noted as good quality but mattress too hard for my liking. Breakfast was very poor selection / variety of things that largely did not interest me. That was biggest problem of all. E. G. I like only omelette or scrambled eggs, but they only had fried eggs, Fruit selection was poor (e. G. I don't like watermelon) , Pastry selection poor, everything poor.
LL does not have these problems and breakfast available to almost any hour. Almost every other Hotel in vicinity of Cita 23 can do Omelette for breakfast and have reasonable fruit selections, and get a comfortable night's sleep.
My summary of Cita 23 was cheapish but still not worthwhile.

My summary of Cita 23 was cheapish but still not worthwhile.Actually, you bring up a question I always have when booking a hotel. I too like a good breakfast. I usually get the omelet because most hotel cooks don't know how to make a fried egg "over easy". They just do a sunny side up egg, then flip it. But I digress.
Many times while booking, you have the option to include breakfast. I'm always hesitant to include breakfast because of the limited time. Sometimes breakfast goes only to 10am. 11am if you are lucky. But if you are out to all hours, this is still too early. Is the LL breakfast included in your booking? If hotels listed "All day breakfast included", I'd be more inclined to book them.
By the way, I only ate the Citidines 11 breakfast once, and that was enough for me. Sometimes I simply opted to make my own since they have a kitchen in their rooms.

Sometimes I simply opted to make my own since they have a kitchen in their rooms.I have no idea what "eggs over easy" is, as probably born in the wrong country (is that when you cum too quick?). Could be a USA thing? In Thailand your balls are known as "khai" which means literally "eggs".
The special feature of Livingstone's is the breakfast (always included) can be had at any time, I think deep into the afternoon or maybe evening. I prefer Hotels where breakfast is good variety and available till at least 10:30AM minimum.
You said "Once was enough". I assume that means the breakfast was not good enough to be worth the effort to attend.

I assume that means the breakfast was not good enough to be worth the effort to attend."Over easy","over medium", and "over hard" are Americanisms, but any breakfast place in the States will understand how to cook them. Basically, it's fried egg started on one side, then flipped to the other side and completed to various degrees of yolk hardness. After many many years of trying to get eggs done the way I like them, I was explaining to a waitress how I like them,"Khai dao. Khai kao suk, khai daeng mai suk", she responded,"You want over easy?" I suspect the owner of the place (Dynasty Inn by the way) is American.
Thai style seems to be to cook only on one side until crispy, the other side is completely runny for both whites and yolks. And it should be served cold.
And yes, I ate breakfast once at Citidines and came to the same conclusion as you and never had breakfast there again.
I will have to check out Livingston's if their breakfast goes after 11am.
There is a place in Pattaya, Residence Garden, that has my favorite breakfast in Thailand. Mostly because they know how to cook home fried potatoes. Anyhow, the breakfast is not included with the room, and further they used to charge more for the exact same breakfast if ordered after 10:30am. Something like 100 bath more. I've heard it's the same price all day now.

I believe that any breakfast place in the States understands americamisms, or the country has been secretly invaded.

Maybe here we should be more specific how girls treat our own eggs, hardness will come as a consequence.

Whoever who she / he is. Otherwise you pay for it, regardless whether the guest has been in your bed or not.
Breakfast, just as laundry, a drink at the bar or anything else is a commodity from the hotel that has to be paid. Some hotels choose to sell rooms with breakfast included. Two if the room is paid for two people.

"Over easy"
I will have to check out Livingston's if their breakfast goes after 11am.The girl explained to me "I want it over easy and not too hard". I answered that I don't like hard either, but definitely slow.
LL used to have a fab daytime waitress (actually the best) that always seemed to know what I wanted even before I knew. I called her "Turbo" (as in turbo-charged). Breakfast in the afternoon no problem. Unfortunately she left to have a baby. Anyway hopefully the cook can do "over easy" ("nim mai khaeng") but I don't know, as I always had the omlettes with onion + mushroom + ham + cheese + tomato + loads of pepper, and numerous coffees.
Here is an email I got back from Kata Beach Center Hotel. But I agree with you, if you book for two, then you should get two breakfast.
Dear Dave,
We do not charge for joiner but do not provide free breakfast if you book 'including breakfast. '
Best Regards,
Lybeer Saengthong (Beer) Correct.
Let's put it this way:
A joiner does not have a significant impact on the hotel costs as for them. Worst case scenario. Is just an additional round of towels (that you might ask anyhow even if you stay alone 100% of your time)
A (second) breakfast means extra cost for the hotel, doing the math.
Lots of hotels simply do not bother to the detail for commercial reasons and / or for insignificant impact in the costs (LL)
Other hotels, where the breakfast is expensive if and when you pay it, then it represents a big add on on their revenues.
So either you book for two with breakfast included (and the price of the breakfas (t) is in the daily rate) or you book for one and you get only 1 breakfast if included in the room.
So either you book for two with breakfast included (and the price of the breakfas (t) is in the daily rate) or you book for one and you get only 1 breakfast if included in the room.If you know the girl well and is trusted, you can check her in as your 2nd person, then they cannot argue.
On one occasion it turned out my girl was 19 year old (I had little idea of her exact age) and Hotel would not allow her as a night visitor, claiming she was too young, but checking her in was okay LOL. No rule against having a 19 year old girlfriend, only against paying one for sex in the Hotel room.
Thais are very driven by official rules at times. I had a lot of difficulties at the airport when I had a seat booked on a plane and I had a re-issued ticket, but ticket no. Did not match that of my seat booking. To some staff this was impossible to resolve despite having a seat booked and a valid ticket to fly. Only higher management staff have authority to get around stupid rules.
If you know the girl well and is trusted, you can check her in as your 2nd person, then they cannot argue.Matter of the fact is that room is paid for two guests and breakfast is included, nobody will check at the restaurant whether the second guest is resistered or not.
The discrimination factor is the room deal: with or without breakfast, for one or two guests.
On principle one can even have a guest joining him for breakfast only. Nobody will check if she was in the room before.
Lots of hotels, especially in Asia, automatically book rooms for 2 guest occupancy. That cuts the story short.

Thanks for the tip Somewhere. I will check AR out. Looks like AR is in strong competition with the Admiral Premiere another good BKK hotel I like to stay at.
(I read the 2300bt rate as the nightly rate available for a 7 day or longer reservation which is a pretty good deal all things considered for a 3. 5* plus BKK Sukhumvit suite hotel.) In Soi 6 I only could get more or less the same rate in Phachara Suites (2011). For mid and end 2012 and now April 2013 I contacted them again but they wanted me to give their most simplest room for that rate; the one bedroom option (that is the type I always want to stay in) they asked even over 3K per night.
I avoid the soke Residence also from mid 2010 till mid 2012 but finaly (after two years absence) someone got smart and offered me an acceptable rate and I love this place. Meanly Japanese expats renting this room for a very long time, they leave early morning (I asume) and you seem them only, mostly on weekend days in the gym, sauna, steamroom or on the swimming pool.

I liked the review, thought I would check the website.
DocFrom Asoke BTS / Terminal 21 its 400 meter not more. If you like to go to Soi Cowboy you can take the way between Soi 19 and So1 21 (with the Pizza Restaurant on the corner. Pass the street (Soi 21) and its again a couple of hundred meters to Cowboy.

Interesting how opinions can vary.
My summary of Cita 23 was cheapish but still not worthwhile.I agree that the breakfast at Citadines is their weak point: it is overpriced and not the quality I wish for either but then again they offer room rates without breakfast and it is easy to make or organize your own breakfast in the kitchen in your studio, or just hop outside and buy some from a street vendor.
And I just happen to like hard mattresses (provided there is a soft Thai body between the mattress and me).
I have stayed in three different hotels during my last weekend's trip, and my conclusion is that the nice hotels with rooftop bars are just too far away, and the only option would be the Fraser Suites, which was not one of the hotels I booked, unfortunately.
The views from both LaBua and Banyan trees were spectacular, but these hotels were so far away and traffice on weekends were so bad that it is just not practical to take a girl from Sukhumvit. The views fom Above Eleven is not as good, but they open late. 2am vs 1am in the other two, so it is still a great place to go. You certainly can walk to other hotels in the area, and just forget about taking a taxi at 2am since that whole place was like a parking lot, not moving at all, so you pretty much have to walk to get around NANA area, so to enjoy a nice drink at Above Eleven, you have to stay in that hotel or the Aloft next door.

OSWhile these places are in locations with heavy traffic, it's not that difficult to get either of these hotels. Take the skytrain to Chong Nonsi and grab a cab. It's a fairly short cab ride to either place.
The Lumpini MRT station is another option, and perhaps a bit closer, to Banyan Tree. The Surasak skytrain is closer to State Tower. In any case, it is practical to get there from lower Suk. It's just a bit more effort.

Up to you, but changing 3 hotels during the course of a weekend seems quite hell of a work.

And I just happen to like hard mattresses (provided there is a soft Thai body between the mattress and me).Makes sense. If you like hard mattress and get breakfast elsewhere or make it yourself, it would be fine. I do like to have Kitchenette and I especially like Hotels with a large fridge with proper separate freezer (e. G. Admiral Premier).
These days I do largely make my own breakfast of cooked rolled Oats and Coffee and maybe a little fruit. Am controlling my diet these days so no more pastries for breakfast. Omelette and smoked salmon would be nice though.
Didn't we warn you on this when you inquired some weeks ago?

OSNice pix. I'm shocked you were able to take such a good one of State Tower. So often the rail is jam packed with tourists. What day and time did you take it? The date stamp appears to be off a bit. Either that, or there was a complete solar eclipse at 13:00. :)

Either that, or there was a complete solar eclipse at 13:00. :)I decided on going earlier, so it was a Thursday night after a late arrival. We got to the hotel around 12:30, and the sky bar closed at 1am. They actually let people stay while they cleaned things up, so we were able to stay until 1:30am, with far fewer people after 1am.
Wine was expensive. 700b to 900b for a glass, but they were good wines.

Did not go to Thermae, as that place closed early, like 1am, it seems.
Sorry to report that I didn't not succeed with the 3some, communications with the girls there was too difficult. It was hard to find a girl that I find attractive, and to ask on top of that to speak English, seems too difficult, so my GF just sleep and let me go out to have fun.

OSHello Sir.
What you mean by "vew few FL"? If it means what I think it means (very few FL) are you sure you have been to Spasso's? As the place are crowded by FL's every night. Have not been there since February though so I will stand corrected if the place have turned into a non P4P joint in a couple of months.
And since I have been a regular Spasso customer over the latest years I will sure dive into this on my next BKK visit in 10 days.. I have to sort this out as you made me worried:-)

Or was it like this 6 you call FL's was the only one did not having male company? Then I understand better as the FL ratio inside Spasso runs in the mid to high 90% they only dress more casual and try to fit into this so called "hi so" lookalike joint. I bet if you waited until closing time the girl would be more interested, hehe.
I like the place (it is like a dear old friend) and sit at the ringbar where you have the best view of the action is nice. Do some eyeflirts and eventually take a pick, hehe.

That said, there may be hotel booking web sites that offer good deals. I'm familiar with Wotif, but if anybody wants to recommend other sites I'd love to check them out.

I use asiatravel. Com. Have had excellent service from them. Good rates also. The hotels have learned not to give away money by offering their best rates through the travel websites. Most offer their best rates by booking directly on their website. With the chain hotels the best rates are available through their loyalty programs, which guarantees you'll be inundated with promotional emails. Before booking the room be sure to enter your membership information first and then make your reservation. You may have an affiliation with an organization that entitles you to additional discounts. If the hotel offers these special discounts they will provide a field on the reservation page to enter a special code for your organization. I belong to the Marriott, Intercontinental and Accorhotel loyalty programs. I always get a better rate through their loyalty programs. I use travel website like Agoda and Wotif to get a general idea of my options and the prices. Then I check the hotel websites. Generally the small hotel chains and independents don't have formal loyalty programs, but I still find the best rates are available by booking directly through these hotels' websites. It's best to check prices both ways.

I just shopped Aspen Suites using Wotif, Expedia, and Aspen's own site. I'll post results in US dollars. Expedia was $58 or $61 w / breakfast. Booking fees unknown. Wotif was $69 w / breakfast and a $5 fee. Aspen lists it at $55++ and it works out to $65 w / breakfast.
I'm staying at Hotel Solo right next door for $69 per night booked through Asia rooms. The room is smaller and no breakfast so I think I'll move next door to Aspen. I think it's worth adding that this is my first stay on Soi 2 and it's a pretty good choice. It's quiet, a short 3 minute walk to Annies and on from there to all of the Nana area. Both Aspen and Solo offer a free shuttle to Sukhumvit too. That puts you very close to Ploenchit BTS.

I like the place (it is like a dear old friend) and sit at the ringbar where you have the best view of the action is nice. Do some eyeflirts and eventually take a pick, hehe.1:30 is getting late to show up at Spasso. Closing time is 2 and everyone is gone by 2:30.
In my experience Thursday to Saturday is most busy, Sunday / Monday can be slow (for BKK) and other days just fine. I've seen many Fridays and Saturdays where it's very crowded, ladies are plentiful, and everyone is having a great time.
It can be on the mellow side before 11. By 12 plenty of ladies are showing up and it probably peaks around 1, before tailing off. Around 1:30 some of the ladies will head over to Mixx in the bottom level of the Intercontinental complex. Mixx usually remains open for business most of the night.
We should all boycott places that do not quote the price inclusive of the ++ taxes. Without that, the prices are very deceptive. I like that that Wotif includes taxes and service charges in the price and only add a relatively small booking fee, which is not such a nasty shock.
We all want to know the true price right? Not some bullshit price that is not even close.Anywhere in Asia you get hotel prices (even written on your room card folder) per night ++, big or small hotels.
I don't recall any doing so.
Booking. Com quotes all in, have to. Say. But the hotel themselves have the ++ practice.

As a side note I booked a Mystery Deal on wotif at 1350 per night and got a very nice room at the Best Western Plus on Soi 20. ALL the rooms are non-smoking too! I'm thinking this place must be pretty expensive otherwise as they quoted a ridiculous 600 baht for the buffet breakfast which is not included in the room price. No problem, cheap good food is everywhere and this is the best room I've had for the money.

Just a heads up. Dynasty Grande is remodeling the rooms in the rear tower. They've closed that off for reservations from what I understand from the people at reception. They just started this week. I am in the front tower pool side and can hear some of the noise from it, but it's not real bad, but I can hear it. I'm pretty sensitive to noise though.

OK.
Thanks for that. I was suppose to be checking in next week. I hate noise. I think I will change now.It hasn't been too bad so far and I'm a light sleeper. It's not all day, but I don't know what stage it will be in next week. You may be able to block the noise for the most part with AC on if you can even hear it, but who knows what they do next week. I try to sleep during the day to make up for the nights.

Hi Guys,
Has some one stayed at Holiday Inn, Siam?
Is it GFE?
Cheers! In Ancient times there once was a country called "Sa-yaam" and mispronounced by the foreigners as Siam. Do you mean Sa-yaam (Siam) Square or something else? Potentially you meant Holiday Inn. Silom? Could be the automated spelling corrector got you?
Potentially you meant Holiday Inn. Silom?I doubt that. At Ploenchit Road there's also a Holiday Inn, next to Intercontinental Hotel. I'd bet a ST with a sexy freelancer that this Holiday Inn is meant
I doubt that. At Ploenchit Road there's also a Holiday Inn, next to Intercontinental Hotel. I'd bet a ST with a sexy freelancer that this Holiday Inn is meantokay Looks like they are calling it "Holiday Inn. Siam" due to being close the BTS station "Sa-yaam"/Siam and Siam Square.
The reason for a non-official place name seems to be the sheer number of different Holiday Inns in a close vicinity, so they have to come up with something. The problem is if a Farang says "Holiday Inn Siam" instead of Holiday Inn Sa-yaam", the chances are a Thai taxi driver will not have a clue. When I was a newbie, I asked to go to the Indra_Regent and the taxi driver rightly had no clue and took me to the Regent because where I wanted is actually called "Hotel Intraa". The Regent is a completely different Hotel.
Guys.
Ian sorry it is Holiday inn express and not Holiday Jnn.
I sent an e mal to hotel which said.

I am afraid I cannot figure out.

I am afraid I cannot figure out.Easy, peasy.
A guest in the room who won't be staying the night won't incur a charge. (I didn't know this was an issue anywhere, but nevermind). You can have 2 persons, max, in the room. A third person will incur a 1, 200B charge and the hotel will not provide an extra bed. So, if you bring 2 ladies, you're going to have to pay for the "extra" one.

When I had to away from Soi 11 I can not say Centre Point hotel is a bad choice. I wait for my fav thaichineese to arrive with her tine little well gymed ass. I picked a 1 bedroom corner suite at 6600bht. It is 65sqm just wait til you see the toilet pics. With accsess to executive floor ofcourse and direct inside access to Terminal 21 mall ofcourse.
On my way back in the elevators waitingarea when coming back from shopping the needed Moet champagne bottles I saw one couple getting married as they had a photoshoot there. Wow o wow what a bride and such a ugly guy. I guess looks does not matter when you have the money, hehe, pretty much got me thinking of mongering again and how that game works sth. They seemed both to be of some thaichineese origin.
Anyone familar with these hotels. I have searched the web and looked at the last 8 pages here and I have come up with the following places that are recent posts. Centrepoint T21, Silq,
Grand president, and On8. And seem to fit the area I prefer. Breakfast is required.
Anyone familar and recomondations would be greatly accepted. Travel is Sept and most of my time spent between 24/1 and nana. Occasional trips out to Ratchada soapy area. I don't care for the disco scene that much so that is not important to me.
Syzy, you know me somewhat so you know I usually stay at LL. Like the convience, breakfast and location. If you can answer that would great.
When I had to [be] away from Soi 11 I cannot say Centre Point Hotel is a bad choice. I picked a one bedroom corner suite at 6600 Baht. It is 65 square meters.Like Mr. Skogis, I too prefer to stay in a larger room or suite. There are plenty of places that offer that type of lodging in Bangkok, but I had not heard of the Grande Centre Point Hotel Terminal 21 until I read his short review.
http://www.centrepoint.com/hotel/products.aspx?branch_id=9
After looking at the hotel's web site and reviewing the photos Mr. Skogis posted, my initial take is that this is a nice place, in the same category as the Admiral Premier, Phachara Suites or the Shama Sukhumvit on Soi 2. But at 6600 baht per night, I question the value proposition. I think you can find equally nice suites in the 600 square meter range, with the same amenities, for 3000-4500 per night. (Depending, of course on how far in advance you book and whether your coming to town during the high season.)
I emphasize that I have not stayed at the Grande Centre Point Hotel Terminal 21, and it may have more to recommend it than Mr. Skogis has posted. I'm just saying that 6600 baht per night seems rather spendy.

BunkyPhachara Suites is convenient to NEP and Annie's; however, I believe most people would think Grand Centre Point is at a much better location: atop Terminal 21, steps away from Asoke BTS and Sukhumvit MRT, and of course a short walk to Soi Cowboy. It's up to the individual to decide if that is worth a couple thousand baht a night. Personally, I'd rather have the money to spend on carnal pleasures.

I don't care for the disco scene that much so that is not important to me.I've stayed at both the Grand President on Soi 11 and at On8 on Soi 8. Both are quite nice and a reasonable value. The GP is a little more expensive and has an extensive breakfast buffet. On8 provides a more limited breakfast opportunity in its on site restaurant. One oddity about On8 is that the rooms have no windows to the outside.

I am afraid I cannot figure out.It means you can have as many people in your room during the day time and no charge.
In regards to overnight you are allowed one guest without charge. Making 2 persons, them and you.
If you want a threesome and take 2 girls back then you have 3 people in the room and so they will charge you 1177 baht for the 3rd person. And you will not get an extra bed put into the room. But if you are having a threesome then you would of course not want an extra bed.
I have stayed at Grand Pres every year for the past 15 years. I am looking for another hotel because I want to try something different. GP has a number of different rooms at different prices, gf, and a great breakfast buffet. Their soi 11 location is a short walk to Nana and the BTS. On the BTS you are one station away from Cowboy and a few stops to Siam Square. GP is also on Soi 11 and there is a shortcut to Soi 7/1. Soi 11 and Soi 7/1 are happening places now. Soi 11 has good restaurants and the Villa Market to shop at. Some of the GP rooms are showing their wear but they being remodeled.
I've visited On8 but never stayed there. The hotel is smaller, more modern. As mentioned before the windows are frosted but don't open. That may be a deal killer for me. One great feature about On8 is its location relative to the BTS. It is literally right at the BTS and there is an up escalator leading to BTS at the hotel front door. That is huge to our older mongers or those who have trouble dealing with the heat.
I would definitely choose GP over On8 because I much prefer staying on the even numbered soi side of Sukhumvit. There's more going on there and I've picked up a few FLs on Soi 11 as well. I recommend GP for you if you have never stayed there.
Centrepoint T21 is too expensive for me but I would love to stay there for location alone. I am looking at Silq, The Continent, and Sacha's Uno. I am guessing Admiral Premier may be a little too far from the BTS for me but I am not sure. Never been there. Sukhumvit S Suites is a good choice for a value priced hotel steps from Cowboy, BTS, and MRT. I'm surprised it doesn't get more mention here.
Mackin: You've got a private message.
I am guessing Admiral Premier may be a little too far from the BTS for me but I am not sure.To the contrary, old boy. The Admiral Premier is convenient to both the BTS *and* the MRT.
DIRECTIONS: Left out the front door to the end of the block, then right to Soi 23. Left on Soi 23 past Soi Cowboy. About 50 meters down you'll see signs directing you to the BTS or MRT. (I forget which.) The secret is to cut through the giant office/mall complex on the northeast corner of Sukhumvit and Asok (aka Soi 21). It's a little bit tricky the first time you do it. There are some long corridors to negotiate, and several escalators. But you make the walk in climate controlled comfort. For the BTS there is a sky bridge which takes you diagonally over the intersection and straight into the station. For the MRT you descend to the street level (still indoors) and then take the escalator down into the station.
I absolutely *HATE* to walk, especially when it's hot and sticky. But I never felt like the Admiral Premier was out of the way. My only caveat is that the blocks immediately surrounding the hotel are not lighted very well at night. It's not unsafe or creepy. But it is difficult to negotiate the uneven streets, especially after Beer Chang maak maak! The girls have it even tougher, tottering on their come-fuck-me high-heeled shoes. But not to worry. There are numerous tuuk tuuks at the Soi 23 end of Soi Cowboy. It's worth every baht to have them whisk you to the Admiral Premier.

Never been there.Bunky is right. The distance from the AP to Asok BTS/MRT is about the same as the walk from the Fraser Suites on Soi 11 to NANA BTS maybe less. It is certainly less distance from the AP to Cowboy Baccara than the distance of the Fraser to Rainbow Nana. Soi 23 is a different world than Soi 11. It's got its own flavor. You should give it a try.
To all who replied to my question, a great thanks. I decided to try both AP and GP. I believe that NB stated that they are two different experiences. I am familar more with cowboy than the other area, so lets give the new area a try. I just hope that AP has a safe in the room as it is not advertised as part of the amenities. Any one around in Sept send a PM and a beer will be offered. Again, thanks for the help.
During my visits in Bangkok over the past 3 - 4 years, I have allways stayed at Dream Hotel. But this time I've got a nice offer (40% off) at the Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit. The hotel looks good and the location is perfect. So to the big question; girl friendly?

Hi Guyz,
Need a small help. Am planning a mongering trip to Bangkok in next month & looking for economical options to stay in the action area near Nana BTS.
After lotsa googling, found 2 options: (1) Star Inn (2) World Inn.
Can anybody please provide some feedback on these 2 hotels regarding quality, service, food etc.
Also, it will be great if some one can recommend other good budget hotel options in the same area.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance.I think Maxim'Inn at soi 7/1 Sukhumvit is a good fit for the budget 1200baht with a small breakfast included. I used to
Stay at Majestic Suites in the past. However, I find out at Maxim's Inn the hotel is much more quiet and bargain price for a double bed, No joiner fee and very friendly staff. Yes, I shall be back Maxim's Inn later this year.

Will check both these 2 hotels.
One question. Hope both these 2 are girl friendly & will allow escorts to visit my room? Do you have similar prior experience?
Also apart from these do you have any other recommendations just in case I do not get a reservation for my visit period?
Thanks.

Just booked at iCheck Inn 7/1. Brand new hotel and only $130CDN for 4 nights, can't go wrong with that. Had originally booked at Cozy at Ten but realized it was a bit to far from all the action (I won't use ST rooms, so having a hotel within a 5 minute walk is ideal). Plus I saved $40 as well.

I have stayed at World Inn twice in 2010 and 2011. The room rate was 800 Baht. Basic but clean and nice room. Very near to Nana BTS. No Bathtub or breakfast in the rate. I used to eat out. It is recommended if you are tight on the budget.

Thanks.Ruamchitt is right over Thermae, so no problem. Plenty available, inside and out. Also, try to book directly, you can get the rate tax included.
Maxims inn at soi 7/1 allows guests free if you book a double room (standard 990 baht no window) , single room only 750 but charge 300 for a guest. I'm currently in that 990 double, not a bad deal for this location. Small room. 140 cm bed, bad smell when you enter room, noisy air con, old building but rooms have been a bit renovated recently. Not perfect but if you want a room and bed for boom boom near Nana you can't beat this price I guess. The girl at the desk was polite but the man not really, didn't even offer to give me my 20 baht change and I didn't bother to ask then. Cleaning good and the lady nice, wanted to add me to Facebook when I asked her help with the toilet that did not flush.
I will be visiting Bangkok soon. Is Boss Suites Nana Hotel (40, 42 Sukhumvit Soi 4 (Nana Tai). Sukhumvit Road.) girl friendly? Please advise.

Does anybody have any experience staying at the iCheck Inn on Sukhumvit 7/1 near Nana BTS Station?
The price is pretty attractive and the pictures look good, but I can't help but think "You get what you paid for." The Superior Room (22sq meters with 1 Queen bed) starts at $27. Didn't say it was guest friendly, but given the location, I can assume it is?
The location is excellent, but there aren't enough reviews on Agoda.com for me to really judge.
If I'm just going to stay there to sleep and will be out most of the time, would that be doable?
I am going on a trip to Bangkok for around 6 days this Friday on a rather short notice (a window of time just opened up). I like the Admiral Premier both in terms of location and quality but falls short on my criteria of mirrors in rooms and a balcony. I am going to book fora day in their basic room and look to change. I am not too hung up on location as I will use cabs rather than trains. Can anyone adviseif it is a decent plan? Also any suggestions on hotels with balcony, mirrors along the bed within around THB 2000/2500
I like the Admiral Premier both in terms of location and quality but falls short on my criteria of mirrors in rooms and a balcony. The "Admiral Suite" does feature a balcony. See the photos I have attached. There are sliding glass doors from both the bedroom and the living room that open onto the balcony, which overlooks Soi Pransamit facing west. Note the rack to dry clothes. That's because the Admiral Suites also features a washer. Very handy. As for mirrors, the Admiral Suite has a little desk in the bedroom over which there is a mirror. Not sure how visible it would be from the king sized bed. There is also a large mirror in the living room. A *very* large mirror. As you can see in the photos, a Naughty Boy with a good imagination who is not wedded to taking care of business between the sheets could probably find a way to have some reflective fun.
As for price, I paid slightly north of 3,000 baht per night to stay in the Admiral Suite. That's slightly more than Mr. Archetype's budget of 2,000-2,500. Nevertheless, I thought it was a good value for money. I probably saved 200 baht per day doing my own laundry. I also saved money buying simple street food from the vendors who congregate along Soi 23 south of Soi Cowboy and north of Sukhumvit and heating it up in the kitchen. Finally, as others have noted many times, if Soi Cowboy is your focus the Admiral Premier is very, very convenient. If you fancy other punter places, the Admiral Premier is just a short walk from the Skytrain and the subway.

ThanksI stayed at Boss Suites in January for 2 weeks. It is definitely girl friendly. She will have to turn in her I'd at the counter and pick it up on the way out, but no problems whatsover. There is also a lot of street action on the walk from Sukhumvit, down Nana, until you get to the street Boss Suites is on. Very quiet location. I walked from Sukhumvit to the hotel at all hours of the day and night and never had a problem.

I'm looking for advice as I plan my trip to BKK. I will be staying 9 nights, so not long term this time, and I'd like to try a new hotel. I'm looking for something that has a minimal walk of shame, and by that I mean when I bring a girl back, I don't have to walk past banks of check-in clerks, an army of security guards, and dozens of families on vacation. Here are the places I've stayed in the past:
-Centre Point Ratchadamri.
-Centre Point Wireless Road.
-Fraser Suites Sukhumvit 11.
-Fraser Place (Lang Suan, I believe no longer a Fraser property)
-Grand Millenium (near Soi Cowboy)
-Hotel Solo.
-Cape House (Lang Suan)
-Swissotel Nai Lert Park (no mongering on that trip)
I'm looking for an upscale hotel, perhaps 4. 5 stars, ranging in price from 2000B per night to just over 3000B per night (so no Sheraton, for example) , and in the Sukhumvit area. I'm willing to go as far out as the Emporium, but would rather stay in the Nana-Asok area. I'd prefer an in-room laundry facility, but that's not a deal breaker, and something near the skytrain would be much preferable.
I've looked at Phachara Suites, and the Marriott Executive Apartments near the Chit Lom BTS station. Any opinions about those two properties would be appreciated.
Needless to say, I will post reports about the hotel, and all escapades therein.

But hey, you are entitled to have your preferences. I won't argue with you. I have stayed at two of the hotels on your list. Here is my short take on them:
-Fraser Suites Sukhumvit 11. Great hotel. Large suites. Small pool. The front desk on the right, elevators straight ahead. Nobody cares what you do. Girl friendly.
-Grand Millenium (near Soi Cowboy) Modern hotel. Good rooms. Great location. Really bad pool. Soi 23 private back entrance avoids the front desk. Very Private. Girl friendly.
Here are some other hotels I recommend:
-Admiral Premiere. Great location. Large suites. Good roof top pool. It is necessary to walk past the front desk on your left (usually only one person on duty) to get to elevators. Nobody cares what you do. Girl friendly.
-Grande Centre Point T21. Modern rooms. Great location and great pool. The suites are large, but expensive. Deluxe rooms much smaller, but priced appropriately. Elevators to the left side of front desk. One time my girl and I walked into a waiting elevator with another hotel guest and his "date" already inside. The girls knew each other since they were from the same bar. We all laughed. It was cool. Nobody cares what you do. Girl friendly. Obviously.
-Marriott Sukhumvit Park Executive Apartments. Large suites. Good pool. Soi 24. Front desk to the left, elevators to the right as you walk in. Nobody cares what you do. Girl friendly.
-the Grand Hyatt. 5 star hotel. Expensive luxurious rooms. Great pool. Home to Spasso Bar. Side entrance & mall entrance make it possible to avoid the lobby and front desk. Nobody cares what you do. Girl Friendly. Of course.
So bottom line: if you really care about privacy, then the Grand Millenium or the Hyatt will suit you just fine. Otherwise I think you will be happy at any of the hotels above. I will be trying out the new Marriott Executive Apartments on Thonglor when I return to BKK. I like to check out different places too.

I've looked at Phachara Suites, and the Marriott Executive Apartments near the Chit Lom BTS station. Any opinions about those two properties would be appreciated.
Needless to say, I will post reports about the hotel, and all escapades therein.Phachara Suites is good. Very convenient to NEP and Annie's. You might also consider Adelphi Suites on Soi 8.
RIP. Sold to the French. Sports Bar no more.
Many happy evenings will be the only memories. That sucks! Is it confirmed the sports bar is closed? Was planning to visit in August.

As Mr. Bumpo cogently observes, the general rule is that the folks in the hotels near Soi Cowboy and Nana Plaza have long since become inured to the punter scene. That said, like Mr. Kumbu I try to maintain a low profile and I've found several hotels where that's easily accomplished.
Near Soi Cowboy, I concur with Mr. Bumpo's recommendation of the Grand Millennium, particularly the entrance off Soi 23. After dark the hotel shops on that side of the building are closed and it's easy to make your way to the elevator without seeing a soul. You do have to walk past the car park and up the driveway, but there are only a handful of staff and they mind their own business.
The Admiral Premier is another option in that area. The "Admiral Suite" is very nice if you like some room to spread out. Might be a trifle over Kumbu's budget, however. As for privacy, after dark the lobby is deserted save for a single person behind the desk. I never felt like I was causing a stir when escorting a guest. Be advised that the walk from Soi Cowboy to Admiral Premier is long enough the girls will whine. Can't say as I blame them. In addition to the distance there are some rather dark blocks to traverse and negotiating the uneven pavement in high-heel shoes can't be easy. Fortunately, there are tuk tuks at the Soi 23 end of Soi Cowboy.
Near Nana Entertainment Plaza, I can recommend the Phachara Suites. The lobby there is slightly more crowded, plus there are usually folks out in front of the hotel. But my sense was most of the guests are younger folks who are less likely to cast a gimlet eye toward a gentleman who has a young lady in tow. Big suites and contemporary decor for about 3000 baht per night. Again it's far enough from the go gos that you'll probably want to hire a tuk tuk.
I've decided I prefer the street scene near Nana to the street scene near Cowboy. It's just a little livelier in terms of places to drink and cheap food. So my next trip I'll be staying in that part of town. Specifically, I'll be trying Shama Suites.

I will be a more frequent guest there in the future when playing with regular none P4P girls. My last stay I did only have one girl over for a couple of days and she used the gym and was very happy. I did also like the indoor connection to the Terminal21 center. Easy and convenient.

What is the general opinion about the hotel.Omni Towers is on Soi 4.
http://www.omnibangkok.com/
It is GF friendly. Identification card will have to be surrendered to the security guard.
There are lots of East Asian (India, Pakistan) and Arab families who stay there. I don't know about "lot of Uzbek gals" staying there. I believe there is a separate business office tower. When I stayed there a few years ago, there were a bunch of young, thin, attractive European looking girls hanging around the lobby and going into the business office tower. I was told that they worked for a modeling agency that operated out of there. I never saw the girls with any guys so I don't think they were P4P girls, but you never know.
With regards to the rooms, the rooms are big. The cheaper rooms (studio) are a bit rundown, but I still found them acceptable for the rate charged. The more expensive rooms are better, but you pay for what you get. All the rooms have small kitchens and in-room safe. When I stayed, wi-fi cost extra which was my only real knock on the Omni Tower
I've stayed there a couple of times and I'd probably stay there again unless I find something cheaper and better.
If you search the forum, I did a review of the Omni and uploaded a bunch of photos of the place.
I just stayed at the Admiral Premier. Actually I took the bigger studio and it fitted both my check boxes of a balcony and a mirror (although very small) by the bed. As for the girls, there is one guy at the hotel reception at night and thats the only soul one would cross while taking a girl in. While the hotel rule is that you need to come down if you call in a girl (say from a Mango or a gogo girl you call in daytime) you have to go down to the reception and get her in; I got around 4 girls to come in like this. Each time I got and call in my room, told them I was in the shower, confirmed the name of the girl and they sent her up. I did not go down to get the girl a single time! And it is around a relatively quiet area, just the way I like it. Thanks Bunky for your help.

The location is great. I stayed at the President Palace, which is just up the street and I highly recommend it. I only walked through the lobby of the Grand President and it seemed fine. I have not seen the rooms though.

I'm considering Grand President Bangkok in Soi 11. Reasonable choice dear gentlemen?I agree with Xiphoris that the location is great. It's right on Soi 11, just up the street from Climax, about 5 minutes walk from the Nana BTS. Soi 11 is a good soi to be on because there is Climax and QBar, it is a short walk or mototaxi to NEP, and likewise to Asoke. It's very central.
If you plan to do Climax regularly, I would choose Soi 11. If you plan NEP, there are closer hotels, but it is a very convenient taxi hop (or walk) over to soi 11 (the traffic patterns are just right for getting back quickly). But it is a little more of a pain getting back from Asoke (too many right turns, or navigating through back streets). So if you plan to mainly frequent Cowboy, I would think about getting a place closer to Asoke.
So location is overall very good. The downside is the quality of the hotel. I can't say anything about the service, but when I did a tour of the hotel a few years back (scouting for future visits) , I was not terribly impressed with the rooms or elevators. The hotel is old, and the elevators really tell that story. The rooms themselves have not been updated. It has a very 1970s motif. The tiles, the fixtures, the built-in shelving, etc. If you read recent online reviews you will get that same sense, so I don't think things have improved since I saw it. For that reason, even though I love soi 11 and the location, I will not stay there.
Alternatives in that same area, which are better quality (but more money too) are Fraser Sukhumvit Suites (a little further up the soi, stayed there many times, it's great) , as well as Aloft (never stayed there, it's kind of new).

I just find it to be a good mongeralternativ for my P4P girls and why change something still working good for me. I live far more upscale when dealing with regular none P4P girls though. GP is Centraly located and rooms in tower 1 and 3 are modernized. They did start with suites in tower 2 in beginning of June. Spacy suites (tower 2) with kitchenette, runs for a decent price from around 2K. I stayed there now maby 30 times or so. I use Climax a lot and we have now also BASH across the street (next to Australian pub) with even more freelancepussy. Better hotels in the area no question, but it is decent value for money and girls can come and go as they like. Easy pisy.
Grand President is an extremely popular hotel with mongers. It has seen better days decor wise but the rooms have been updated (apparently Tower 2 is in process). I share a two bedroom suite in Tower 3 with my wingman and it is great although we want to find a different 2 bedroom, two bath suite this trip. GP is the only hotel I know of that has two bedroom suites with a King bed in each bedroom.
For Zimmerbaby unless your looking for a 5 star hotel, stay at Grand Prez. Easy walk to Nana, Biergarden, Soi 7/1, BTS entrance. Can walk to Cowboy but I prefer taxi or BTS. Breakfast at GP is excellent, lots of freelancers nearby on Sukhumvit, some on Soi 11 from time to time. If you miss American food, Soi 11 has several American restaurants. The FL discos (not my scene) are right next to the hotel too. I also find the side of Sukhumvit Road with odd numbered sois to be preferable.
GP is highly recommended by me. If you must have newer, Aloft on Soi 11 gets good reviews but I still recommend GP over Aloft.
Thanks to everyone who responded to my inquiry about the walk of shame. I *almost* booked Phachara Suites, but then got cold feet.
I've now found a good deal on the Grand Millenium, and it is a toss up between that and Aloft on Soi 11 (I love the idea of being on Soi 11). Can anyone compare the two in terms of quality of lodging? I know both are girl friendly, but how do the rooms compare? How to the bath situations compare?
I've stayed at the Grand Millenium (I think it was their Deluxe Room, which is the basic one) , and the walk-in shower was fine (not terribly big) , the bath was huge (though I never use that) , and the room was fine. So if anyone can compare the GM Deluxe room to an Aloft room, I would be most appreciative.
Be honest. Does it really matter where you stay once you agree location, location, location. $10 / night here and there is irrelevant (2 lady drinks). Bluntly I go to Trip Advisor.
And do a minimum amount of research and then book. Takes five minutes and I can devote my time to planning the punting.

You can take the evevator directly fom the Parkdeck to the floor or use the residence entry. This also brings you direct to the floor. So there is no walk of shame ther. And the Hotel is very cool. Very Close to the bts.

Kumbu, where did you find a good price on Grand Millenium?Yup, its a Wotif mystery deal right now.
Thanks to everyone who responded to my inquiry about the walk of shame. I *almost* booked Phachara Suites, but then got cold feet. I've now found a good deal on the Millennium Grand, and it is a toss up between that and Aloft on Soi 11. I know both are girl friendly, but how do the rooms compare? How to the bath situations compare?I'd be interested in why Mr. Kumbu decided against the Phachara Suites, if he's willing to elaborate.
As for the Millennium Grand, the room I stayed in was not very large. But it was nicely laid out. The work area was particularly nice, with a big desk, lots of electrical connections and a comfortable chair. I often squeeze in a few hours of telework during the day, so that's important to me. As I recall the TV picture was poor, with tons of compression artifacts. The upholstered bench at the foot of the bed came in handy, if you catch my drift.
As for the bathroom, it was plenty large. At one end the toilet was separated by a frosted glass door. The sink and vanity were big enough to spread out all my stuff. I liked that the electrical outlet could be switched to output 110 volts, so I could use my Water Pik without a voltage converter. The shower is on the small side, but not as small as at the Phachara Suites. The tub is big, but I'm not really a bath guy. Note also the possibility of opening the bathroom blinds to permit a view into the main room. With the right girl there might be some possibilities there. One thing I found a little odd about the bathroom was that the floor was a few centimeters lower than the floor in the rest of the room, probably to facilitate cleaning. I stubbed my toe a couple of times until I learned to pick up my feet more carefully when going back and forth.
Finally, I would recommend the club level at the Millennium Grand. You can check in and check out up in the lounge, which is a nice touch. The lounge itself is a comfortable place to hang out during the day. The free breakfast is nothing fancy, but I'm not a big breakfast eater. The staff in the lounge was very helpful. And I met a few gents during the evening cocktail time who were interesting blokes.

I stubbed my toe a couple of times until I learned to pick up my feet more carefully when going back and forth.Thai water control. I ripped my hand open during a fall because of this wonderful Thai architecture! Dumb b@itch I was with splashed water all over the floor (and of course she did not warn me of the lovely death trap she just created on the wonderful slippery Thai bath tiles as I walked in) and that was enough for a completely sober bloodletting on my behalf!
I'd be interested in why Mr. Kumbu decided against the Phachara Suites, if he's willing to elaborate. Thanks Bunky, for the info on Grand Millennium.
I decided against Phachara Suites not for any single reason, but several vague issues. I've toured the place, and so I know it is actually quite nice. I liked the size of their suites, and I like the fact that there is a washer / dryer. And I love the location too.
Negatives, strangely, include the location. I like being near NEP, but I also like to partake in fun at Cowboy and Soi 11. If you pick up a girl at Climax or Qbar, then it's a bit of a hike (not long, granted, but still) down across Suk and soi 6 to Phachara. Whereas if you are in a place on Soi 11, you can do a quick catch and release, if you see what I mean, and be back in the game before you know it.
Also, Soi 11 is walkable to Cowboy, NEP, and everything in between. So that got me thinking about Aloft. A place I've never tried before.
And finally, several people told me about the wealth of Arab and Indian families that inhabit the Phachara lobby. The walk of shame is not that big of a deal to me, but if I can avoid having to push through veiled women, robed men and their dozens of children on my way back to shag, I'd prefer that.
And finally. 3000B per night at the GM is nothing to ignore, so these factors were enough to persuade me that while Phachara is a solid choice, there might be better options for me somewhere else.
Has anyone tried iCheck Inn on Sukhumvit 7/1? I prebooked 4 nights there (August 17th-21st) at the beginning of my trip. Price was nice, $130CDN total. Just wondering if anyone has stayed there before, couldn't find much in the way of reviews since it is a brand new hotel.
Normally I would stay at the Livingstone Lodge; however since its now shut down I need a new place.
What I liked about the Lodge was that it was quiet and the girls in the Sports bar were not pushy. I don't want to go into Soi or Nana or the main gogo bar areas but it seems I have no choice. I'm now thinking of just sticking to soapies or massage places.
Unless there is another bar / hotel like Livingstone I've narrowed it down to the following:
Stay near Soi 15 (Four Points) where I can visit the following: Dr. BJ, BJ nuru and Eden Club.
Stay close to Emporium (Emporium Suites) where I can visit EZ massage 1 and 2, Cherry and Snow White.
Any "good" place near these areas that I missing? Might just swing the vote!
Ok, I'm booked and ready to go. I finally decided on Aloft on Soi 11. The Grand Millennium through Wotif Mystery was tempting, but I wanted to try something new, and right on Soi 11. I shall certainly post my thoughts of this hotel on this thread at some point while in BKK. Many thanks to all of you who provided advice and thoughts. It was immensely helpful.
Now the waiting game begins.

Hi all,
I will be in Bangkok early September but I do not want to book any accommodation until I'm in country as I still don't know what day I will be in Bangkok.
I am thinking of staying around the Nana Plaza area I am looking at either Star Inn or GP.
Do you think this is a bad idea?
There are enough websites like booking. Com, agonda and Asia web direct.
Just to name a few I should be able to get a good deal.

Never stayed at either of those establishments, but did a tour of GP, and it has so many rooms I can't imagine they will be full.

Thanks for your help!Generally, yes. Book a double and you'll avoid 99% of potential problems. Some will insist that the second person check in at the same time and / or sign on the check-in sheet. But these are rare. The Montien Riverside (a place to avoid at all costs) comes to mind. Also, the location is important. Anything in the lower Sukhumvit / Silom area should be fine. Outside that area and you may get some grief.

Planning a trip to Bangkok in early December. It's been suggested I stay at the Column. Executive Suites are roomy at 50-60 square meters. Right now they are US$80 on Agoda. They come with a washer / dryer and a small kitchen. It's right next to a 24-hour Foodland; and it's a short walk to Sukhumvit and Asoke.
Anyone have opinions or a better suggestion in the immediate vicinity?
Thanks in advance.

Can anyone recommend hotels with lightning fast internet, preferably 3 star? Maybe 4 star or 2 star.
Otherwise, here is the ultimate tip to get the best value hotel in Bangkok. Once you have your price range and location in mind, compare all the hotels on tripadvisor. Com where they rank the hotels.
For example, in my price range in Nana before The Dawin ranked 138 of 728 Bangkok hotels. Needless to say I got a much better deal then say guys who stay at Nana hotel at a similar price, ranked #408 of 728.

Never stayed at either of those establishments, but did a tour of GP, and it has so many rooms I can't imagine they will be full. Thanks Kumbu.

Bless Residence Sukhumvit Soi 33.
Stayed here because Livingstone's is closed for renovations.
Girl Friendly. I ordered some girls from one of the massage places across the road and they let them in, just copying the details of their ID card, no problem. No extra charge.
King size suite is huge. Working kitchen.
One of the TV stations is the hotel security camera system, so you can actually see when your girl is at the front desk.
Clean and new, but despite its location it isn't a mongers hotel. Plenty of families and couple staying here. However it is on a sub-soi with a bunch of clubs so the location is a tad dodgey if you are bringing your wife along.
I booked it through Agoda. That has me kinda worried though, will probably have to e-mail Agoda here soon. If they are accepting bookings for mid August it should be done by then.Got email reply from them today. They are doing a soft launch and that it would be ready when I get there. So that is some good news at least, if it comes down to it I find a new hotel after the 1st night.
Thanks in advance.Paul Kausch: I have been wanting to try the Continent Hotel. I hear good things about it and the location is fantastic if you plan on visiting Soi Cowboy. It's close to the Column but better situated for Cowboy, Terminal 21, The MRT, and The BTS. Crossing the streets in that area is a pain and the Continent prevents dealing with that. Continent has a special on Agoda now too. Price is about US$85 / night.

Thank you for the suggestion.
Yes, the Continent is on my list. A couple of weeks ago a deluxe room with breakfast was about $87. It's new and you're right it's in an excellent location right at Sukhumvit and Asoke and around the corner from Soi Cowboy.
The Column does have much larger rooms, an executive studio is almost twice the size of a deluxe room at the Continent; it is literally next door to a 24-hour Foodland with a Took Lae Dee restaurant; and for more upscale dining Long Table is on the 25th floor of the Column. But the Column has been around for a while. I was just curious if anyone has stayed in the Column recently. I was wondering if the rooms are starting to show their age. I've also read a few negative reviews about the service. Of course a few people will always complain or get bad service because they're jerks.
Again, thanks for the suggestion.

You guy s paying $100 per night are overpaying. LOL. You guys are raising the price for the rest of us.
I'm sure Mr E would tell you not to pay more than 1000 baht a night!

I was minding my own business recently when I received an special offer email from Agoda: The Radisson Suites Bangkok, a I bedroom suite (65 sq. Meter) 65% discount or $68 / night inclusive of 10 % service charge and 7% hotel tax. For my next visit to BKK, I had already booked 8 nights at the Marriott Executive Apartments Thonglor (I received a soft opening deal through Marriott for a I bedroom suite at $100 / night) and 7 nights at the Fraser on Soi II (for a I bedroom suite again at around $100 / night through Booking. Com) , but I still had 4 nights open in BKK after I return from a short 5 day excursion to Pattaya. I knew one of those open nights was going to be spent as a free voucher night at the Renaissance, thank you Marriott Platinum membership, but that still left me with 3 unreserved nights.
I think the Agoda special offer deal is pretty good. I like the square footage of the Radisson I bedroom suite and the hotel's rooftop pool, so I booked the Radisson for my last 3 nights in town. I don't like Soi 13 very much, but it is centrally located to a lot of Sukhumvit nightlife; Soi 11, Nana, Thermae, and Cowboy. I can make do. I am also not expecting Marriott or Fraser quality at the Radisson suites. The Radisson ranks 135 out of 727 BKK hotels according to Trip Advisor, but I am expecting something pretty nice, clean not fancy, and around Admiral Premiere or Phachara Suites level of quality and amenities. Actually I am sort of looking forward to my stay at the Radisson. It will be a little change up for me and something different. Last time I was in BKK I stayed almost two weeks in a suite at the Centre Point T21 (free upgrade!), a week in the Admiral Suite at the Admiral Premiere, and two nights at the Fraser. I like spending 3 weeks in BKK. There are a lot of great places and things to do, but I also like mixing things up a little by staying at different hotels and locations while I am in BKK.
Anyway, have any of you guys stayed at the Radisson Suites? What did you think of it?
P.S. After booking the Radisson Suites with Agoda, I received a Club Carlson promotion to sign up for their credit card and receive 50,000 bonus signing points good for 2 nights at most Carlson and Radisson hotels. What the hell. I signed up. I stayed at a Carlson hotel a few years back in Amsterdam and the Radisson Blu in Cebu city once so I already had over 40,000 points with those cats. If I like the Radisson Suites BKK then next time my stay will be on them.

Hi Guys,
My first post so sorry if I've done it all wrong.
I am in BKK for some business meetings for 3 nights and am staying in the Mandarin Oriental. I have an escort staying with me for the duration based on a recommendation from a fellow ISG contributor. The hotel is very smart and houses one of the top restaurants in BK, Le Normandie its a jacket and trousers job that we will be visiting. I warned the girl to bring something sexy and elegant I hope she doesn't interpret this as something else LOL! I have purposefully ensure that the room is booked for 2 occupants, Do you think the hotel are likely to complain? Or as the room is booked bed and breakfast for two will I just go under the radar? I've never had a girl stay longer term with me before so don't know the ins and outs. My Thai friend warned me that I may have problems at the restaurant, but who are they to question my relationship with the lady? Has anyone experienced a problem like this?
Cheers
Hi Guys,

CheersWhen I'm in BKK I stay at the Peninsula across the river from the Mandarin Oriental and the Shangri-La. I almost always take hotel cars when I go out at night and have become very friendly with most of the drivers (and have actually stayed in touch with a few). They have all told me how unfriendly the Mandarin is to Thai working girls. Though I have never stayed there I have eaten there a bunch and frequent the excellent cigar shop on premises and have never seen anything remotely looking like a working girl.
I don't have any suggestions for you just that you may want to be prepared for a tough time. Maybe prepare the girl very well in advance for questioning.

CheersAs long as your escort girl is presentable looking, meaning she is does not have too much gaudy makeup on and she is not wearing over the top provocative "working girl" type clothes, I think you will be alright. Be sure to know your girl's REAL NAME. If anyone of the hotel staff hassles you, stand up for yourself and tell them this is your girlfriend and you find their conduct insulting.
So what Escort agency did you book her from. Bangkok Gold? Again everything should be ok. Talk to Goldie and stress the point about the Mandarin Hotel and the importance of her girl looking hiso acceptable.

CheersNatty is absolutely right. You'll have no problem as long as the girl knows how to dress and act in polite society. If you are booking the girl through Bangkok Gold, the MO, Shangri La and Peninsula are three hotels Goldie recommends (see her website). A couple of her girls have told me they are very familiar with all three hotels and love to eat at the MO's Sala Rim Naam.

[Goldie's] girls have told me they love to eat at the MO's Sala Rim Naam. Those girls have good taste. The Oriental's Sala Rim Naam is one of the best "Royal" Thai restaurants in BKK. I also highly recommend Bussaracum for the same type of "Royal" Thai cuisine.

And don't miss the Oriental's Lord Jim's Restaurant which features an outstanding daily lunch buffet. It is a gourmand's heaven.

I've not stayed at the one in Bangkok though I have enjoyed Lord Jim's buffet several times. It is excellent.
Thanks for the tip on Bussaracum. I'm familiar with it but have never eaten there. I will be in Bangkok in December and may follow your recommendation.
I think Goldie's girls have been pampered by their clients on a few occasions. I think they were dropping a hint for our next "date."

Thank you for the advice, I will try and make sure we are more affiliated prior to arrival. I have considered not checking in until we are together I'm not sure if this would draw more or less attention but as the room is bed and breakfast for 2, I think it should be ok.
Has anyone tried iCheck Inn on Sukhumvit 7/1? I prebooked 4 nights there (August 17th-21st) at the beginning of my trip. Price was nice, $130CDN total. Just wondering if anyone has stayed there before, couldn't find much in the way of reviews since it is a brand new hotel.Walked down Soi 7/1 today in search of this iCheck Inn. The soi is slightly curved so you can't see all the way down while standing on Suk, but about 10meters in you can see a large sign for the hotel. I actually missed the entrance the first time down and walked all the way down to the end of the soi. I double backed and saw the entrance on the same side of the soi as Eden Club and Dr. BJs.
It's in a pretty sweet location. As I just mentioned, it is literally 10 meters passed Dr. BJs, surrounded on all sides by bars and the like. I walked in and the lobby is small, a little dark, but still quite nice. There appears to be a bar down there, although I didn't really see anything. There was a Euopean dude with luggage waiting on the couch in the lobby, and another European couple at the front desk haggling over something.
I asked to see a room, and the lady said 'solly kaaaa, we fully booked, no loooooom. Maybe come back after 3 O'cock, we have loom then. '
So in answer to your question, they are most definitely open and doing business. I can't give you any details beyond that because I was unable to return after 3 O'cock. If I'm in the area today, perhaps I'll drop by again.

Going to be an interesting trip. 2 weeks and counting.

Hi. Can anybody tell me if Imm Fusion is a girl friendly hotel or not and your experience. Thanks in adv.Turned this up on another forum.
Pro's.
Clean, safe, cheap room! I booked directly from their website at 800bht / night for a basic room and was greeted by a King size bed, ensuite (shower only) and complimentary bottled water daily. I think wifi's included too but I used my own 3G sim as I've already paid for it.
30min Cab ride from Suvarnabhumi Airport. 200thb with toll.
5min walk from On Nut BTS.
Carrefour and a small local mall just around the corner.
Cheap local night market / food / massage on your doorstep (Think I paid 150thb for a 90min foot massage at a local place, both receptions were tapping away on their iPhones but nobody could speak English)
Girl friendly, I've seen many guys bringing girls back and hotel staff doesn't seem to mind. However it's definitely not a party house, some families do stay there.
Room included your own safe.
Swimming Pool / Gym / In House Massage etc.
Con's.
Quite far away from the action, BTS to Siam is about 15 20min from memory. But I like riding the BTS with locals and just observe their everyday lives in general.
Room is a tad small, don't get me wrong it has everything you need + a King size bed for a single room. But could barely fit much else in here.
Breakfast ends at 10 11am I think, which is super early either way.
Overall a very positive experience and definitely would recommend it if you're looking for something under 1000thb a night.
Hi. Can anybody tell me if Imm Fusion is a girl friendly hotel or not and your experience. Thanks in adv.I stayed there in 2011. I didn't test their girl friendliness but I saw Farang / Thai-couples there so I assume you would have no trouble. The main entrance hall is a bit pompous and you have to pass the reception (which is in the middle of the hall) to get to the lifts. Rooms are comfy and ok by my standards. The BTS and Tesco are just next door. It is right by a highway ramp so airport transfer is a bit quicker from On Nut than some other parts of Sukhumvit. They arranged an early breakfast as my plane was leaving at 7 am For 1000 baht a night it is not a bargain but still decent value, especially if you need for some reason stay away from Nana / Asoke area.
For a late return from Nana or Soi Cowboy you need to get a cab or a motorbike taxi, though.

For a late return from Nana or Soi Cowboy you need to get a cab or a motorbike taxi, though.I think it is a good price. However location is not really great for taking girls for short time, as is a bit far from Cowboy. Some girls ask where your Hotel is before agreeing to ST. 5 stops on BTS away from Asoke (but BTS closes around midnight I think).5. 5 Km. If she happens to live in On Nut district and will go home after going with you, then little problem.
I live further out than On Nut, LOL, so am used to getting a late taxi back.

Phachara Suites.
22 Sukhumvit Soi 6, Klongtoey.
Highly recommended. Stayed here about a dozen times in all. Little bit more expensive than say the Majestic Suites but for a smoker the balconies are a bonus. Sortalike serviced apartments with daily cleaning / replenishments it is ideally located between Soi Nana and Soi 8. BTS is a 2 min walk down Soi 6 or you can circle thru 4-8. Soi 11 is a 5 min walk as well.
Very professional discrete staff. They chk the I'd of girls I bring back yet allow my longtime TGF a keycard up to the room when she flies into BKK without issue.
Rooms are spacious and have washer / drier, full size fridge. 1/2 tv's and full size mirrors facing the bed.
Breakfast is an OK only buffet and espresso cafe an extra *expensive* charge (go to Soi 8 for coffee instead)
Well worth a look especially if you book their in advance promotions.
Cheers

Does anyone know anything about this hotel on Soi 13.
Thanks
Hello all,
Newby going to BKK would like some advice on a hotel. I would like a good value close to the action with a breakfast buffet maybe. I arrive Aug. 22.
Thanks in advance.
Hi all,
Has anyone stayed in S15 before? I know it's guest friendly hotel, but read somewhere in TA, everytime need go down to pick the lady because of the key card to activate the lift?
I'll be in BKK for 2 weeks, now choosing between Park Plaza or S15.
Thanks for the advice in advance.

Suggest the Mandarin Oriental or the Peninsula. Both have excellent breakfast and all the actions are close enough.Or just taking the [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140)/
Neither is near the 'action. ' Both are not g / f unless you 'partner' is smartly non-tarty dressed and both are expensive.
About the only thing you are correct on is the excellent buffet breakfast.
