I have no idea what you are specifying with your numbers such as what quality hotels and what air routes. I don't even know what currency you are quoting. What I can say is equivalent hotels in Chiang Mai are much more expensive than Pattaya and your experiences in the two cities will be totally different. Chaing Mai has it's own set of attractions, two of which I recommend are going into the mountains to the west of the city and also north of the city is the Chiang Mai flower festival, which I think I saw in November. Your hotel will have nearby tour booths where you can book tours of these things plus many others (e.g., elephants and crocodiles). If you want to get laid, the options in Chiang Mai are a tiny fraction of those in Pattaya and it is in a limited area with limited services (southeast of the moat).

IMHO, Chiang Mai is a much prettier city than Pattaya, its not even close. I suspect your wife would enjoy evenings walking around Chiang Mai (shops, restaurants, massage) more than eyeballing the hookers of Pattaya. Thanks for recommendation on Festival. That is exactly the kind of thing my wife wants to see. For dollars was referring to USD. The hotel prices were kind of an average for something 4 star. And although wife enjoys picking up the ladies, she certainly enjoys the rest of the vacation more. So Chaing Mai it is. For ladies we are going to keep it simple and do Nuru 69 and maybe a bar girl. Thanks again for recommendation and if you have any others please let me know. She wants to see elephants, go to Heritage and Coconut park, and see some temples for sure.

Well we skipped Chaing Mai in September due to flood worries and went to Aruba instead. We decided to do Chaing Mai in November. Just looked at prices. They seem crazy high? I understand its high season, but we can go to Pattaya for almost half the cost? We may come anyway but was curious if anyone knows if this is normal for Chaing Mai to be this expensive this time of year. For ten nights I can get air fare and a hotel for 2200 ish for us together to Pattaya but for Chaing Mai its 4400 minimum. We think we are doing it anyways as wife feels Chaing Mai has more things to do and is prettier than Pattaya. She said you can't just chase girls every day.I don't know what your dates are but as Horse Trader mentioned the Flower festival is in November. The Latern Festival is also the 5th and 6th of November and the prices are double or triple of normal.

If your dates are flexible you might try pricing some different dates in November.

Hi there, I have a question for you mongers in CM: has any of you been to this ABC club? I keep seeing reels of this club on my Facebook feed and the girls look amazing. But then I see nothing here, is it because there is no activity beside drinking or is it because nobody has been there? I am considering visiting CM on my next trip just to check this place!

Chiang Mai Flower Festival is always first weekend of February, so February 6th to 8th of 2026.I'm confused. Pictures I took of the flower festival are time stamped December 2024. But posted signs show it as the 2025 flower festival. Perhaps the official celebration is first week of February, but things I saw in December were beautiful. In any case, people looking to travel to Chiang Mai should look up the schedule and go see it. It's a highlight of Chiang Mai. I believe that the fireworks were 9:00 PM, which leaves plenty of time to get back to the city for punting activities.

I have been in Chiang Mai every winter (except one due to the pandemic) since 2012, returning in two weeks for my 13th winter in Chiang Mai. So I was there in December last year. The Flower Festival is always the first or second weekend in February. Loy Krathong (also known as the Festival of Lights) is the weekend of the full moon in November. In 2024, the full moon was on November 15. In 2023, that full moon was November 27, later than normal. Loy Krathong is a BIG festival! I'm puzzled about what festival you saw in December. New Year's was pretty big last year, but I do not remember anything big in the middle of December. Hmmm.

This winter, all celebrations will be canceled or subdued due to the year-long mourning after the passing of Queen Mother Sirikit.

The sign last December read "Merry Christmas 2025. " I am sure this December it will say "Merry Christmas 2026. " The first year I read it with the following year cited I thought it was a sign-maker's error. But since it happens like that every year it must be a Thai choice or style to consider a current year event like that to apply to the following year.

I never asked a Thai person to explain it in detail. I pointed out that "Merry Christmas 2025" sign last year to a Thai friend and she just shrugged like she didn't know what the problem was. I did not pursue it.

Just planning my first trip to Chiang Mai.

Been reading through this forum for a lots of wonderful information.

And I hope it's not a silly question.

Just wondering is it possible in Chiangmai to ring the Massage shop and ask them to send a girl to your hotel room for a massage.

Obviously a lot more convenient, and the girl is more inclined to be more relaxed and hopefully provide FS.

In the privacy of the hotel room rather than in the shop?

2 hours for 1000 baht for Lady oil massage I think? Then negotiate extras with the provider.

https://baifernmassage.com/

CM Massage. Similar prices and provider levels.

https://www.facebook.com/massage2020cmm/

Tell the booker via text what service you want. They will provide the right girl.

I've used both and was pleased with both. Expect girls that are a little older, but clean and somewhat attractive. They will send you a digital line-up.

For. BJ and FS. Is 1500 to 2000 Bhat a fair price??House plus 500 HJ 1000 BJ 1500 FS is not a bad start. I am not one to argue much about money however.

I was doing better than that in massage parlors on Kampangdin road the last two months because it was slow season, and the girls got to know me. It helps that I am polite and fun and respectful and my breath doesn't stink. 800 BJ all in. 1300 FS including house. But now they are flush with cash from the holiday, and business is has picked up all around. You won't be getting any bargains during busy season.

Most of the outcall girls wanted 500 for HJ, one stuck firm to 700. I don't mind paying extra - 200 doesn't mean anything to me. I just didn't repeat with her as I don't want to drive up expectations.

Just recently visited Phuket with wife and had a great time. Wife wants to visit Chaing Mai for fun and the touristy stuff. We loved Phuket but wanted to try something more relaxed. We will be coming third week of September. Over the years we have gotten great advice on where to stay so figured we would see if anyone has some recommendations. We want to be close to the action of Loi Kroh and massage area for sure. We may or may not pull a FL or bar girl. What we were hoping for is somewhere nice with a good pool, and hopefully girl friendly. If anyone has some good advise please let me know. Will do massage for sure and full service option would be great. That and any other advice please share! Thanks in advance if anyone can help. This is always a challenge for couples. Me and my GF are also kind of open-minded, I didn't get her to go with me for a full service session together, but this year I got her to try a happy ending massage together with me. There is a new place down in Nimman area called Luna Wow. The Wow stands for women only wellness so the place is actually focused on special massages for women, but if your girlfriend brings you, guys can join as a couple.

So we had a nice couples massage with happy ending in the same room. Nice clean big room and very friendly receptionist. All done in a comfy environment, nothing sleezy so the wife or GF will feel okay here.

Thanks for the report. How did they get your GF off?The standard is happy ending by hand both for me and my GF. There are options for more, but I guess you need to be very clear about what you want, and it won't be cheap, but then when and where can you arrange to have 3 or 4 people in the same room with your GF being serviced?

Returned to Chiang Mai after a couple of days in Bangkok. This is my 13th winter in Chiang Mai, and the 8th since my long-term relationship ended. While my focus in the past was working half-time (I was a computer system admin), practicing yoga 4 or 5 times per week, strength training at the gym twice a week, and hiking arount the city and up in the jungle. After that relationship ended, I started exploring the erotic massage scene. And I think I know that scene in Chiang Mai reasonable well. So how do things look this year?

First, the massage parlors on Loi Kroh are still all about teasing and hand jobs. While I have gotten FS at a couple of the shops on Loi Kroh, it is less and less likely. Having said that, when I talked to a young lady on Loi Kroh, she offered "special" (meaning HJ) for 1000 including house fee. Would not make it naked. When I pressed her for more, she said B2B for 3000, and when I balked, came down to 2500. I sort of laughed internally and passed. For 2000 I can get FS easily on Kamphaengdin Rd. , so I'm not interersted in a 20-something with GPS doing a half-hearted B2B with no BJ, no DATY, and no FS.

Second, the shops on Kamphaengdin Road are still FS, and my regulars are still there, and are still fun. I have been getting pussy almost every night, and it is still a lot of fun.

YMMV. Walk down the streets. Loi Kroh, Sridonchai, and Kamphaengdin. Talk to the ladies. A lot of fun is sensing which one might be fun, and going with it, not knowing for sure how it will work out. That's why I love the massage parlor scene; it is not always certain what will happen, but I almost always enjoy the experience.

This made me think of a quote from the baseball film "Bull Durham".
A good friend of mine used to say, "This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains. " Think about that for a while.
