After many months I decided to check for new gals in OT.

Hadn't been there for a while as the last few times the service was TERRIBLE. Girl put on tv despite my asking not to, lost attention for massage when there was an interesting moment in the soap she was watching while massaging me.
Another girl simply had no strength at all. She said it was because she didn't have dinner yet (then why work?). Another girl asked for tip even before starting...

Of course one doesn't go there for normal massage skills, these are totally absent. So, with service being so lousy and the place being totally worn out, why still go there? Well, in the far past I did meet some nicer girls who provided full service, and if you want the HJ it's one of the few places where you can pick a girl behind glass. In normal massage places you can often pick a girl too, but it's less appreciated, and then those girls are often not pretty at all. In OT, now and then I saw a pretty one.

Anyway, so this week went again. Picked a new girl, hoping for a better experience. In vain: the girl asked for a big tip in advance, she didn't greet me (very impolite), and the massage was of course nothing. Her attitude was totally wrong with bad service, so when she offered the HJ for a standard THB 500 or full service for 2000, I made clear that I could go next door to Sayuri and have it all for less (at much better service).

I think this place is simply not worth it, there is no reason to go back. New girls quickly get rotten in their mind after talking to the old girls, so the service and attitude are simply terrible.

It takes a while to find pretty women in town for a sensual massage, but there are, and the service you can get then is much much better.

Hopes are gone for an Akane-style fashion massage (Bangkok, Sukhumvit 33) in Chiang Mai: after several months of waiting, the shop was sold or rented out to yet another spa beauty center, as if we didn't already have enough of these.

I suspect the Thai who planned to run Anzu at Changklan Road wanted to offer massage plus services on an explicit menu, like a balls massage is explicitly offered in Bangkok, but Chiang Mai's authorities didn't give the permission.

Typical Thai to first renovate the place, put up a nice poster, and then find out that no license will be given.

Anyway, a pity and a great miss for Chiang Mai it is.

Pandora: 1,800 ...slightly on the high side

Sayuri: Still the bread and butter of MP's for Chiang Mai. I was in there the other day at 3:30PM...I was still surprised at how many local Thai's patron this place...standing space only. At that time, there were more customers than girls. This is the best priced at 1,000 baht, but the rooms are a bit "dungeon like" -- kind of dark inside the room

Ping Payom: Still my favorite, nice looking young girls, but pricey. The good looking ones are 2,000 baht (on the right). However, the other day I walked in and was quoted 2,500 baht -- not sure if the price has officially risen, or if I just looked extra "touristy" that day.

Chiang Mai Hill Hotel: Very good deal, with several young ones (lots of older ones). 1,500 baht for the younger ones.

Phucome: Never was too impressed with this place, the girls seem to be very unhappy and only semi-attractive...priced on the higher side too.

OT Massage: This place is a real dump, with lots of Dengue mosquitos. The linens are pretty nasty too. However, the girl selection is pretty good. I just fucked a busty young girl, but she ripped me 1,500 baht (not including the 500 baht fee for the massage and room).

Grand Classic: Not a bad place, I was able to fuck a 19 year old with firm breasts and great attitude: ST 1,000 baht including room. Open late.

A couple of years ago, I met a very nice 18 year old girl, working in an internet shop. She was just graduating from High school and studied biology at Chiang Mai University after that. I asked her to give me Thai lessons, which she really did, with little success. Gradually I became her sponsor and "boyfriend", but she would never stay overnight. There was always one or all of her family around. We were almost never alone, no sex! Similar experiences I had with a another pretty local student of Payap University. I met her in a really serious Traditional massage shop, where she was working as kind of a receptionist at very low wages. If you are so keen on a student girl friend, better ask the girl first, if she stays with her family in Chiang Mai. Maybe it is easier, if her family lives somewhere else. Later on I decided, that I really did not know, what to do with only one girl friend every day and all day long, so I gave up looking. I found out, that some of the young girls, working in the TM places, want to have a farang bf (age does not matter), especially during low season. Most of them speak English well enough and almost always they come from other provinces, as Isaan. Formally they may not be as well educated as the students, but I haven't noticed so much difference. One really cute young girl offered to live with me, instead of doing Thai massage in the shop. She would (only) need 500 THB per day, because she had to support her sick father, who lived near Bangkok (he was younger than me, but worn out from doing construction work all life long). Everything happened some years ago, but I do not believe that much has changed since then, except that quite a few girls in the formerly serious massage places nowadays make a little extra money with the HJ-business, so they may not need a regular sponsor any more.

Thanks in advance.Raming Lodge is a good suggestion, it is right in the center of all the action. Lai Thai guest house is also not bad and a little cheaper at 650baht a night. It is not far from the action (5 minute walk) and they will pick you up at the airport for free. A car from the airport is only 120baht though so it is not the deal of the century. From there you can look around and find something you like for a month. Lots of places advertising low prices (400baht) but not all are near the main bar area. There are fan rooms around the bars for a few hundred baht a night.

As someone who spent some time in Chiang Mai, I can tell you that the chance of getting one of those chinese looking white-skinned Chiang Mai University students to talk to you for longer than it takes to get directions is almost impossible. Yes, many or most can speak English but they are not interested in practicing it. They appear to be embarassed to hang around with a falang. I have been told that they are largely middle class Northern Thai and spending time with a falang is just not part of their program.

I used to go to a coffee shop just outside the university and the girls would not even chat. I even met a professor who had worked in Chiang Mai university for a few months and he had no luck either.

Best try a girl who has gone to a lesser university or who is doing a real job. And especially a girl who does not have family living locally.

Oh god! Canyon, you should be very careful. CM is far from having the same quality as BKK when it comes to freelancers.
For superior Quality, I suggest Karaoke bars, they have the cutest girls (more expensive as well, but knowing your taste, I think you will not settle for less)

Massage places are dirty, Soapies are sub-standard, bars are below Average. CM isn't the best mongering Spot.

It is not surprising that uni girls shy away from farangs. Over the years, more and more farangs come to Thailand...and CM.....for sex only....or primarily. They are not really interested in a cerebral relationship that MIGHT grow into something more. Consequently, many....MANY...Thai women and men see farangs in a not so loving way. They largely feel, and have told me so, that farangs are interested only in sex. Consequently, we are now suffering the sins of our fellow mongerers. We have a huge P.R. bow wave to overcome before the uni girls will welcome us with open arms ....and legs.

There are two massage places at the east end of Loi Kroh. For those new to CM, the one on the right as you face east, is run by seedy, slippery looking Thai guy that will rip you off if you aren't careful. I sat out front with a bunch of the girls and farangs having a good time drinking. My mistake is I ran a bar bill. So....when it came time to pay, I was too damned drunk to realize that 7000 baht was too much money for the beers I had to drink, and the drinks I bought for the girls. I payed it and didn't realize it until I was almost back to my apartment........too late to do something about it. If this happens to you, call the Tourist Police and let them sort it out. Chances are good you will win. Live and learn.

CanyonMost of the bars are concentrated on Loi Kroh from the moat to the small complex with the Thai boxing ring, maybe 500 yards distance between the two. The Number 1 bar (that is the name of the bar, not its rank!) is a few yards down Loi Kroh soi 1 and while they have some older women there, I have seen a few younger ones. I don't venture much further from there as far as the bars go since that's where most of them are. There is also Spicey the freelancer bar, it doesn't get going until late. It is a bit loud in there for me and hit or miss as far as quality. There are a couple of go go bars and I found them to be a waste of time.

Andy, it depends on what you mean by "near." If you don't mind walking, the Night Market is "walkable," but I would simply take a songteaw for 15 baht, or a tuktuk for about 50, depending on the driver....I don't do tuktuks most of the time. Now, on Sunday night there is the "night market" at Thapae Gate. It is my favorite market place. Thapae Gate is easily walked to from Loi Kroh Rd. If I may recommend a good bar to begin your acquaintance with Loi Kroh area, try the Number 1 Pub on Loi Kroh, Soi 1. Owner is Belgium guy and Thai wife. They own two bars each opposite the other on soi 1. Not all the girls are "take homes," but some are. Take your time, get to know the girls first. I don't imagine many of the same girls are still there from my last visit, but it is a low key, fun and happy place with an upstairs for pool table with one of the girls (only for playing pool on). Number 1 Pub has a website, but I can't recall exact address....do Google.

What is your budget? I can recommend several places depending on how much you want to spend. The Loi Kroh bar area is not that long and there are several hotels right on Loi Kroh rd.

The night market is known locally as the "Night Bazaar" which is open every night and runs along Chang Khlan Rd. Loi Kroh intersects with Chang Khlan right in the middle of the Night Bazaar. It is only a 10 minute walk from the start of Loi Kroh Rd. Soi 1 is about halfway down Loi Kroh. Unless you are extremely adverse to walking you don't need a tuk tuk or songtaew. I take a tuk tuk from Loi Kroh to my home on the other side of the city and it is 60baht.

As Oosik1 says there is the "Sunday Market" on Ratchadamnoen Rd. west of the Tha Pae Gate. As the name implies it is only open on Sunday evenings and would be a 10 minute walk from the start of Loi Kroh Rd. It is very popular and can get very crowded.

Different maps spell some street names slighly different, so if you see a street name very similar to what I have here then it is probably the same street.

Night Bazaar is mostly T-shirts, DVDs, watches and that kind of junk although there are many places with handicrafts. Sunday Market is mostly handicrafts, local clothing, and food.

Now THAT is a good question.... I don't go to CM often enough but somehow I doubt that there will be any "foreign" action there. The Thai scene is already very very small there.

How much is the barfine? How much for two hours? all-night?400 is average bar fine, 1000 ST, 1500-2000 LT many guys will pay 2000-3000 LT so they will try to get more. Don't tell them you are staying somewhere nice, they will waste your time trying to get more. You might not get below 2000 LT in Nov if there are more customers.

A few nights ago I stopped in at a bar in the boxing ring complex, I think about the fourth bar on the left as you walk in. The complex is made up of about 20 small bars. First, I must say that I have never been to BKK, so I cannot judge based on my experience, but based only on the experience of others....farang and Thai.

CM is not so big as BKK. Not so crowded. Not so much air pollution (until March/April). Don't come to CM if sex is the major reason. So many things to do, see, taste. Take the time to make Thai friends. Most Thais think farangs come to Thailand mostly for sex, so you need to overcome that stigma. Travel.......Isaan, Thaton, Nan, small villages.
Thaton is a small village on the border with Burma...above CM, Fang, Mae Ai, then comes Thaton. A river runs through Thaton and on down to Chiang Rai. Take a boat trip to CR, spend couple days in CR, return to Thaton on boat. On top of mountain overlooking Thaton is a Burma Army outpost. Much smuggling of Ya Ba is through Thaton and nearby mountains by hill tribe people. Ya Ba being manufactured by Burma Army. Many Karen peoples in the area......refugees from the longest running war in the world. There are about 4 decent to good hotels in Thaton. You must visit the local temple and see the view from atop the mountain......huge HUGE white Buddha on side of mountain....can see from miles away.

Back to CM. I have stayed at two condo/apartment places. Hillside 4 on Huay Kaew Rd....short distance to Kad Suan Kaew Shopping Center, and the Baan Thai Apartments on soi 6, Nimmenhaeman Rd. I prefer the Baan Thai, because is much less expensive and better location for action......close to CMU....many restaurants, hangout for college students. CM is a good transportation hub.....buses, train, airport, yellow songteaws for going to nearby villages and cities. I mostly move around CM by songteaw, because I refuse to drive in Thailand. Too damned dangerous. Nok Air flies to Udon Thani 3 or 4 times a week, so I occasionally go there and do that area.

I enjoy a good oil massage in CM, so I make an appointment for girl to come to my apartment for private session....usually 500 baht. Others can tell you about the sex joints.

Take a trip to Mae Hong Son and/or Pai. No taxis, tuk tuks in Pai......no songteaws in Pai......only motorbike taxis. If you go during "winter" months, make sure your bed has a warm blanket or two, because the nights get damned chilly. Visit the CM Zoo........good zoo. The Night Safari was a disappointment......owned by Thaksin. Don't eat the zoo animals being served at their restaurants .....but maybe we stopped that idea.

I love CM, because there is ALWAYS something to do. Oh, go to Doi Inthanon......tallest mountain in Thailand, but take a jacket. Beautiful gardens. Float a fire balloon into the air at New Years or holiday, but do it with a Thai girl...more fun. Join TLL and make some contacts for when you go to stay in CM, but don't schedule 2 dates same night, same time. It is a godawful experience.

I have never permanently lived in Chiang Mai, just stayed there several times, up to three months, mostly during winter time. I was told, that 10.000 foreigners live there all year round, but I do not know if it is true. They are hardly visible. The main problem for me was air pollution in March and April. Cost of living is cheap, food is excellent. There is a surplus of rooms. I had a simple, but nice hotel room in the center for 5000 THB per month + water and electricity. Rent for many apartments is less than 4000 THB/month. There are discounts for a one year´s contract. Any kind of service is good and cheap, with so many people from the surrounding villages, other provinces, or from Burma, looking for work in Chiang Mai City. Even most local people I met, were friendly or at least treating foreigners better than we are in my own home town. For older people it may be interesting, that there are several excellent hospitals at a moderate price. I remember an invoice of around 1100 THB, including doctor´s fee, lab result and medication. In Sayuri for example, you pay a similar price for up to 90 minutes of treatment, if you do not arrive by Tuk-Tuk. Maybe the ladies make you forget old age and little health problems even better than any doctor can.

thanks muchEasy question, hard answer. Please forgive that this is so long. One of my best friends in the world lives in Kintamani, I have been there many times and can relate to this.

Ubud is not what it once was, of course, now over run with tourists awed over a bunch of monkeys, and pseudo art shops selling mediocre batik & badly made Bintang Beer t-shirts. Well Chiang Mai isn't what it once was either. In fact it is just a dirty ghostly shell of what it once was. Really.

I lived in Chiang Mai for twenty years, and it finally got the best of me. I had to leave. Once the decision was made, I packed up and left in a matter of 2 days. It had been coming for ten years.

As a tourist, you really do see very little of the reality of CM, and personally I could never live there now. It truly is just a filthy mirror of its former self. The place is boring, the people want everything but don't really know how to get it. The infrastructure of politics and money are as corrupt as the Thaksin Shinawatra family that runs it. And, the corruption has made life there more frustrating than I have time to explain here.

If you do a test run for a few months, try not to live in the "inner-moat" city of Chiang Mai, go south into the flat lands before Doi Inthanon, or way north into the foothills. Both still represent real Northern Thai life, but if you think you are in 3rd world territory now, hold on to your hat in Thailand. The city of CM normally drives farangs out of their minds with frustration. Learn to speak Thai as fast as you can, force yourself to get out and be a part of the Thai community. Don't let yourself become immersed in the farangs, they aren't reality, and they make stuff up to suit their own vision as to what they expect from their own point of view, this is not real.

If that all sounds complicated, so be it, Chiang Mai is a complicated place to get along. You think Ubud is 3rd world? At least you can be in Kuta in no time, Chiang Mai there is no escape!

Cost to live: Ubud may be cheaper, but the food isn't nearly as good as CM.

Things to do: Chiang Mai is alive with nightlife and restaurants, (and mid life crisis tourists.)

Friendliness: Learn to speak Thai, period.

Business opportunities: I have watched many farangs go through their entire life savings trying to do the simplest things business wise. In general it can be a very dangerous place to do any kind of startup. In CM it is easy to be taken advantage of, and super easy to wind up broke & disillusioned.

Etc: Ubud is only an hour drive from terrific beaches, the whackiness of Denpasar, Kuta-Uluwatu-Sanur, etc., and an abject totality in change of scenery. In Chiang Mai you just have the mountains & waterfalls, and, after a few times of going there, they just do not represent that much of a realigning healthy space to get away to.

Ubud has better weather, cleaner water, and the air is far less contaminated. So there it is, and those three things unto themselves make a huge difference in quality of life, no matter where you live. In regards to all three, Thailand is a mess. It's hot, the water is notoriously dangerous, and the air is full of some sort of smoke virtually all of the time.

Bali has some of the best coffee, and certainly, some of the best waves/beaches, in the world. It is more involved with nature. It's easy to get along and live there cheaply. Chiang Mai? Hmm, not sure if it has the best of anything any more, and it can be very expensive now. Many people, that move to CM to live, move on within a year or two. (Screw it, I'm outta here.)

Again, sorry if this was too long Jijjy, it was cathartic for me. And, if it were me, I'd stay there in the Hindu enclave communty there that easily accepts farangs into their world and I would try to make more trips to the northern parts of the island of Bali, and of course there is always Lombok etc. For big holidays, I would then do extended visits to Chiang Mai and get a more personalized feel for Thailand and for CM itself.

BTW, as you know, the P4P scene in Bali sucks. In Chiang Mai, you can ALWAYS get what you need whenever you need it: Some of the most beautiful girls in Asia, day or night, 24 hours a day. This is the ONE THING that never seems to change in CM. ;)

I believe it is best not to expect anything else from the local people, as you would from any stranger in your own home town: nothing or the worst! And, keep in mind that most Chiang Mai/Rai chicks don't like to do the deed for money in their own home town. They like to go somewhere else, tell their parents they are working as an assistant manager at 7-11 or something, then send the dough home twice a month.

Farangs only generate 10% of the P4P money in Thailand, and, of that, only a tiny fraction of the farang action happens in Chiang Mai.

Chiang mai has great restaurants, museums, movies, shopping malls, free concerts, newspapers, an international airport, serious hospitals and dentists, beautiful mountain country nearby, everything you need on a daily bases is readily available. That is why 10 000 foreigners live here and you don't see them much. It is true that the air is bad for a couple of months/year, you should plan on travelling then. It's easy and cheap that time of year. A lot of good info is to be found at the thai visa chiang mai forum.

And it is true that the p4p scene is small because the demand just isn't there to support a nana e-plaza, we have cec on loi kro instead where you can hire a couple hundred girls, but most of them end up at spicey later because nobody paid the 300bt barfine and so on. Pussy galore everywhere!

You can live well in cm for 800$ a month, you have to add on what you spend for girls though. If you stay awhile get a place and a bike you will find a girl to show you how to budget with quality. Find one with a job and make sure she keeps it. Put your money in the bank and make sure you keep it.

I meet decent women everyday and many look for a nice guy. Just don't be a sucker it will not earn you respect either. Learn to say no with a smile and be generous within your means.

I know this subject may be a little off topic, but I was wondering if anyone here could recommend or comment on whitewater rafting in the Chiang Mai area. I was also wanting to visit some of the local hill tribes. I'll be in Chiang Mai this February and need some extra activities to recharge my batteries during the day so I'll be ready for mongering in the evening.

I have to contradict any reports that says that CM is not a place for good mongering. I was there recently and can tell you it is an excellent place and even better than Bangkok because you get much better value for money. They key is to avoid places like Karaoke bars and the other brothels where the girls with numbers are sitting. Thanks for sharing. I also love the TM shops in Chiang Mai. Now I would like to report my own observations and give some more details. There is a massage place on almost every corner, but they are not all alike, depending also on the area. Most of the serious massage places will send a massager to your hotel, if you call them on the phone, but normally you are not allowed to choose in a really (!) legit place. So I just walked into several shops and always got an excellent oil massage behind a curtain, from all kinds of women, young or old, overweight or slim, pretty or average looking and so on. When I was assigned to a nice girl I liked, I asked her for her mobile phone number. Some of them were honest and insisted, that I call the shop to send her. If she is new, and does not know English well enough, she will also want the the manager arrange things for her. In some legit places you do not have to pay more for takeout, if your hotel is close enough for walking. About 100+ THB surcharge should be more than enough for extra time and transport. It is also a safety issue: the lady will feel more secure, if her employers know where she is going. Sometimes her boss or one of her colleagues will even bring her to your room and back, if she does not own her own motorbike. Please remember: those girls are not real prostitutes. Never ever ask the manager for "extras", or the girl in front of others! Only few of those girls will agree to FS in your room. Maybe you were just lucky, because the girl had some bills to pay. You would not have to give her 1500 then. Offer her a 500-THB. Tip for FS or BJ + price for massage. You are not in Bangkok (also compare to the soapies: at Sayuri I paid 1150 THB/session last year, FS, comfortable room and everything else included). Since I prefer a HJ as "happy end" after a very good, long and relaxing oil massage, normally I do not ask for a BJ or FS in my room. My first offer has always been 300 THB tip for hand relief. Sometimes I complained, that my testicles and their neighbor hurt and I needed a health massage for that area too. Maybe the girls had pity on me, or I helped them "save face" that way. Who knows? It worked. There is a different situation on Loi Kroh Road. Many or most of the massage places there look legit from the outside, but in fact are HJ-shops only. Easy to identify, because of the young and mostly pretty women sitting outside. There you can get a sensual massage at a reasonable price and the girl will ask you for a tip of 500 THB for HJ, while working on you (sometimes more, but she will accept 500). A big towel is provided on the mattress for oil massage and a small one in a roll for your sperms. So you will not have any doubt that at least HE is offered on the premises. It is OK, if you do not mind being serviced behind curtains only, in a communal room. I tried those obvious HJ-places, sometimes, when I needed quick relief, or when I was attracted to one of the girls outside. Hi, staying there right now. Cheap n cheerful, basic but clean and has free WiFi. Totally GF, walk in the front door and right up the stairs no problem.
The hotel has no elevator so there is no waiting and no walk of shame either.

Breakfast is inclusive but pretty crap. It is ok if you only go for OJ and cereals with toast I suppose. Problem is finding a table (only 12 available) when the hotel is full of Chinese on cheap tours. Plenty of young eye candy and they have no checks on who is taking breakfast, so you can get away with ''extra'' guests without a problem.

Sayuri was 1150 for the girls all the way on the right only and the price has gone up.

We all know that there are many ways to screw many a girl, some even for free, which sometimes end up costing the most. Some might even pay you who knows? Not the top q. From the fishbowl though. Most of them are downright ugly anyway.

Last week I took a trip from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and visited Ayutthaya, Sukothai and Lampang on the way. There I didn't look for girls. In Chiang Mai I spent 4 nights in the Rainforest hotel. It's a little outside the center nearby the railway station. I have booked by Agoda this hotel and payed only 16 Euros. This is an unbeaten prize for this kind of Hotel. The room was really good, clean and a big bed. I could use also a little swimming pool for relaxing after some excursions. The disadvantage is to reach the city. You always need a taxi or a tuktuk. Especially in the late evening they want crazy prizes like 100 Baht or more for less than 5 kilometers. So it's a hard bargain to get reasonable fares.

In the first night I wandered around in the inner city, especially on Loi Kroh, where you can find easily the most bars. But it was mostly disappointing, what I saw. Mostly average girls or beneath. I didn't find any girl, who I liked to take with me. The only stunning creatures have been ladyboys, so be cautious. Also the few GoGo-Bars have been disappointing for me.

In the second night I took a girl from one of the beerbars (I don't know the name of this bar). I paid the barfine of 300 Baht. We agreed for 1. 500 Baht for 3 hours and 2 shots. She was slim, age 23 and gave me a nice smile, as I entered this bar. This was the reason to take her. She was a good kisser, but her oral skills haven't been exceptionally. The 2 rounds have been ok, but nothing special. So I could send her away after this time light-hearted.

I also visited the disco in the Pornping Hotel, but most of the girls looked not interested and the few prettier girls have been occupied after 11 p. M

In the other two nights I didn't monger, but got a very good Thaimassage (only a real massage, no sex!) in Loi Kroh in the salon "Full moon massage" diagonal opposite to the big Centara Duangtawan Hotel. The name of the lady, who gave me an excellent massage, was Benz. Surprisingly she spoke much better English than the mostly ladies, so I could communicate with her well and could get some real interesting information about living in Chiang Mai and her family background, because she was member of one of the hill tribes in the mountains. But she is really not interested in having sex. This I could find out, as we talked.

Naturally I made excursions there to an elephant farm, did a bamboo rafting on the river or made a one day trip to Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle. It is easy to book these excursions, you see many travel agencies in the cities.

All in all it was an interesting trip there, but surely not for mongering.

I speak only a few words of Thai and I learned the numbers up to 1000=nung pan. I forgot to mention that one year ago, 1150 THB was the price including a better room. It is worth 150 Baht more. You do not even have to speak any Thai to get the local price. Just continue to the cashier's counter on the left, if you look at the ladies (where else would look?), put your 1000 or 1150 Baht down, together with a piece of paper with the number of your girl from the fishbowl. If you can tell them the girl's number in Thai, then you are already one of them! Don't ask the papasan for the price, because then he knows you are new and he will quote a higher price. Chiang Mai takes some time and effort, so it is good for older men like myself, with patience. For young studs Pattaya will be best. I also found out, that it is waste of time, trying to befriend a local girl, living with her family in Chiang Mai. Burmese and Isaan women, working in a low paid job are the best girlfriend material, long term or day by day! Hope to be back soon.

Bath was fair but nothing special, action was a bit boring, a bit rushed, and no 2nd pop. She said 1000BHT extra. She didn't put any effort into the show. I would not recommend and I will not repeat.

Also, price for 'M' was 1800 which is what old reports state. (which means that price of 'B'/regular girl is still likely 1500 and 2500 for 'supermodel. On a sidenote in the 3 times I have gone. There were only a handful of 'supermodels' and they didn't look any hotter or younger than other girls.)

My $.02 on CM mongering:

Sayuri's prices are 1000b for girls with no letter with their numbers; 1150b for "B"; 1300b for "M". I had a Euro monger to thank for enlightening me on the prices before I got around to picking a girl from the fishbowl. I didn't think the "M girls were that much better than the others, but I did end up picking one who gave decent service. Not remembering where she was from. Have not visited Pandora.

Beer bars: the girls on Kotchasarn near Loi Kroh and Loi Kroh itself were not that impressive, very few stunners, if any. A few of the ladyboys looked better. I took a girl out of one of the entertainment center bars (this center has a muay thai boxing ring at the end), don't remember which one though. 400b barfine + 1000b for ST. It's not all a loss, there's decent food and drink to be had on this street.

Gogos: not Bangkok, that is for sure. Foxy Lady: only saw two girls worth doing and both were downing LDs with someone else so I passed. I was there around midnight so maybe I gotta show up earlier. Bath was fair but nothing special, action was a bit boring, a bit rushed, and no 2nd pop. She said 1000BHT extra. She didn't put any effort into the show. I would not recommend and I will not repeat.

Also, price for 'M' was 1800 which is what old reports state. (which means that price of 'B'/regular girl is still likely 1500 and 2500 for 'supermodel. On a sidenote in the 3 times I have gone. There were only a handful of 'supermodels' and they didn't look any hotter or younger than other girls.)

Chiang Mai Review:

Bangkok built my confidence up and then chiang mai knocked it back down. I only shagged 1 girl and got a rub and tug one time, although admittedly both were very nice. OT is a disgraceful dump. It really is.

What you may find there however are many very pretty hilltribe girls that don't really want to go the full on bar girl or BKK soapie/oily route. Many are very cute, many are very nice, many are simply real for real girls desperately trying to get by without becoming full on hookers.

Brief review of the three main GoGos in Chiang Mai (only been once to each)

Spotlight: Pretty girls sort of dancing around some poles. Nice atmosphere, a good 'default'.

Well I know what you mean and I believe the trick is that most girls just don't go too often with customers and earn their money with ladydrinks. It's not really that they don't want to go but more that they are not really used to it because many chiang mai customers are young Farangs who travel with friends and do not indulge or only occasionally. That sounds interesting, i.e. something I haven't heard about before .. The only fishbowls I know about in CM are the few "massage" places. Then there's Loi Kroh, and expensive KTVs. This is a confusing thing. Its usually more likely that the girl is insulted by the amount being offered is too low. But if a guy and a girl have a very close rapport, its just possible the girl will not charge for the night, based on viewing him as a new boyfriend. This is more likely with a newer bar-girl who is not yet fully accustomed to always receiving money for fucking.

Another possibility. Some bar-girls (not many) don't normally go with customers for paid sex, and may not even consider themselves to actually be "hookers". i.e. I have met girls in the bar that say its O.K. to bar-fine them but they will not boom-boom, especially serving staff. Both of them told me that they only have the real stuff - which, of course, is very expensive. I suggest stocking up when you are in Bangkok. Chiang Mai and Raming Lodge

Ijust finished my third and last night at the Raming Lodge in Chiang Mai. Must say as a first time visitor that I really like this city. The Lodge is really well located with a good number of lady bars within 100 meters. The Loikroh Rd location is a much narrower one way lane than I had envisioned. If you walk down one side, the ladies will call out to you from the other side. On busy nights it can be a rather festive atmosphere. For me the best part of the trip was being able to sit at the bar with my arms wrapped around an attentive willing lady and watch the other staff members compete in impromptu dirty dance competitions. These girls seem to enjoy the party atmosphere and know how to have a good time. They banter among themselves and the customers and can get quite antimated with mock anger and exaggerated teasing. Last night a small elephant was brought down the narrow sidewalk. Fun to see...although I've seen that in BKK as well.

Bar fines seem to run 400 bhat. I paid 1400 lt my second night here and lucked out with a stellar performer. This night I went short time (1 hr) for 500 to the lady and 400 to the bar. Also nice. I asked both ladies upfront if "smoking" was on the menu and they delivered beautifully. Following my short time on the last night, I went to have a look at Spicy disco which was a fair distance away and quite dead at 10:30. The boxing ring place is an easy walk away from the lodge and is surrounded by lots of lady bars to peruse. I prefered the Loidroh Rd layout.

The Lodge itself is fine and you see punters bringing home the ladies on a regular basis. Staff is very nice. You don't encounter staff when you bring a lady into the building. The elevator is a very short distance from the entrance. Granted there are a fair number of couples here as well...mainly Skandanavian and presumeably liberal. . The wi-fi internet is very "iffy" and I've had to go across the street several times to get online. That's the biggest downside to this place. The hot water for the shower seems to fluctuate a lot. The inroom safe is adequate for 2 nice cameras but not a laptop. However, the place seems pretty secure and I don't mind leaving my old computer out on the desk. The breakfast buffet (Thai and western) is adequate, but not much more. I personally wouldn't take my lt lady to breakfast here in the morning. Didn't even bother to turn on the TV.

In walking around the city I saw the Hotel Duangtawon and must say I don't think much of its location. I dropped into the D2 or Dusit as well as Le Meridian and found both to be stark, modernistic, Miami Beach style places with a very cold atmosphere and empty lobbies. I visited the Riverside Cafe and Bar twice in a row for dinner. Absolutely great place full of tourists with live "easy listening" music for relaxing and enjoying the supurb Thai and western food. I took two different ladys on each occasion and they were thrilled to see the place. Very special for them. Dinner for two with drinks can run 300 to 550 bhat. Highly recommended.

The city itself has a lot of shops with arts and crafts. The night bazaar is worth a quick look but basically a lot of junk. Now onto Udon Thani and the Irish Clock where I have several DIA ladies in waiting. Basically I'll use the bars as a fall back if the DIA prospects fail me. To be continued.

Bizare but enlightening.

I had an odd experience my first night in Chiang Mai that taught me how anxious or hopeful some country ladies can be to meet a "good" farang. In preperation for my one month tour of Thailand, I had been corresponding with a few DIA ladies. My profile was intentionally ambigious about my seriousness but mentioned generous and nice companionship. One Chiang Mai lady had been an on/off chat but agreed to meet me for dinner. She was personable, cute, half my age, but admitted after dinner that she had a serious long distance relationship going on with a European. She skillfully persuaded me to meet up with her "sister" that night who had come to visit her from Ploy...a 6 hour bus ride away. Long story short, this sister had made the bus trip solely to meet me. Unfortunately, she was not my type and spoke little English. At this point I wasn't sure if they were both "serious" ladies or just looking for a nice dinner and a little extra change. Before going to my hotel room, I made a point of telling "country girl" that she wasn't my type and that I wasn't looking for "serious". But if she wanted just for "fun" it would be ok. She was quite agreeable. I offered her money after the sex, but she refused it and left. I felt pretty badly about the whole thing..now understanding there was miscommunication involved. Yesterday I checked Chang Spa, on Sridornachai. It is at the end of the last soi before Charoen Prathet. There are spacious private rooms with bathroom. Bath and HJ only: about 500 THB. Bath, massage and HJ: 799 THB. Bath and body to body massage: 999THB. The problem is, that they have a queue. It is OK at TM-places (with optional HJ), but not at a sex oriented place with HJ and Body/Body on the menu. The girl assigned to me, was not cute enough to arouse my desire, so I refused and had an oil massage next door, at Daruma massage (you enter through the restaurant). 200THB per hour. I saw some pretty young girls, but as far as I found out, they do Thai massage only. My oil massage lady was in her late forties. Nice woman, but to excite me for "extras" I need a young and slim girl, so i did not ask for a HJ and it was not offered. The good thing: the lady was not shy, so I was naked, even when on by back, no modesty-towel needed! When I had left the Chang Spa before, I saw one pretty girl hanging around. I would not have refused her. Maybe I try another time, with better luck. The price for a body/body seems reasonable to me - with the right girl of your own choice!

Prescriptions at the CM Ram Hospital are inflated. Tell the doctor BEFORE he fills out prescription that you insist the prescription be given directly to YOU and not delivered by the nurse to the Prescription counter in the Ram. Take the prescription to any drug store and get a much better price. The doctor will squirm and insist that he will "get in trouble" with the hospital, but thank him for his efforts and INSIST.

Went over to the Phu Come Hotel Sauna, selection was a bit better, prices quoted the same. I told him I heard the going rate was 1,000 and 1,400 and he immediately agreed to it. Took one of the 1k girls who actually looked better than the so called models. First was the bath for two which was nice, then a quick shitty massage, followed by a decent ride.

The normal price at Hillside should be 1000 for one hour, and 1200 for 1.5 to 2 hours. If they don't know you or you don't speak Thai it might be a little hard to get these prices.

ThanksAm in Chiangmai presently. Other than a few vans sporting red flags, I haven't seen anything like protests. The town is in full songkran mode now so the only risk is getting a bucketful of icy water on your face.

All is quite up in CM. There's one area of town that is a red shirt rally area, near the East side of the moat, but you if avoid that area (Just in case), you will be fine here. Can't miss the area, got a big red flag flying and some tires for barricades.

Ya, its very quiet here, although its high season, its seems more like low season due to the Red shirt protests in BKK - many countries advise against going to Thailand although BKK unaffected.

The result? Many tourist bars/restaurants are empty, and seems easier to negotiate LT/ST prices as WG's are trying to make ends meet.

I was at a massage place and easily talked down the 500baht HJ to 300 without much effort.

Even in high times, Chiang mai is a more laid back and peaceful/quiet place compared to BKK. Massage/Fishbowl/GoGos are in swing still. Karaoke is a difficult option unless you can speak a high level of thai (very few will speak english). If your goal is to get straight to bed Karaoke is a bad value, as you will spend at least 3000 baht for a room/drinks/fees before even taking the girl back. I went with 2 buddies and spent 7000 baht on the fees alone, just singing and drinking. Taking the girl back is 'extra' and you negotiate with her.

KTV is more of an Asian chatting/bonding thing and only good if you can talk to them.

To me it isn't about cutting the girl short. But refusing to be taken advantage of. I live here every year for part of the year and I know for a fact 500 is the typical foreigner rate that most are willing to pay. Many places do 500 all in with the massage. How am I being unfair if I am paying the local rate and the girl agrees to it? The fact that you want to be generous does not mean that my behavior is unfair in any way.

In my experience Locals pay less (but they don't visit the normal foreigner places ie. Loy Kroi). For reference, a construction worker makes only 150 baht a day working 12 hrs in the hot sun. I don't pity a woman paying her 300 for shaking her wrist for 10 min or so. In Thailand everything is a negotiation, so if she is willing to take 'local' instead of 'foriegner' rate then that is her decision. Further, you are thinking in Euros and not Baht, which is a mistake when you live here. Japanese men typically pay around 3000-4000 for ST because that's what the women ask and its 'only' 10K Yen to them, and people here get upset that they are spoiling the market. Does the fact that they overpay make it unfair that you pay less? No because you are still paying at least the local rate. Don't bring your local currency into the argument.

Exactly right. A HJ is simply a very specific massage. Sure, pay her more than a normal massage tip, but let's not make those few minutes of tugging more dramatic than they are. A HJ is much different than FS.

Just to confirm what Islandboy54 wrote. In my area (Northeastern Thailand), I pay 100 baht for 90 minutes or 120 baht for two hours of traditional Thai massage. So true, not to mention some of the better masseuse are blind and some are male. People Place near the Night Bizarre is pretty good. There are 2. I use to stay at the more Upscale one. Fairly nice rooms for 600 to 800 baht. I payed 600 per night when I booked for a week last year.

Also I hear Raming Lodge is good but I never stayed there. I heard the Imm Hotel near McDonalds is fairly reasonable also but can be loud. CM is not too busy now so maybe noise will be low. All of these are near the action. If you book for a week or longer you can probably negotiate a lower price.

It may even pay you to book a hotel for 1 night then spend a couple hours walking around. I know there are bargains as I see many posted.

I've stayed at New Mitrapap and the Star Hotel.

Mitrapap is pretty cheap, and has very good wi-fi, a router on each floor. But the style is very basic. Its close to the edge of the night bazaar, but a bit of a sweaty distance from Loi Kroh (beer bar complex). I was even able to play my MMORPG on it.

Star Hotel is pretty much on Loi Kroh, and more hotel like than Mitrapap.

The IMM hotel's facade looks nice, and just above a McDonalds, if you're into that.

I have stayed at the IMM Thapae hotel. This is the one with the McDonald's on the ground floor. The rooms are roomy and clean, and the wifi works OK. Got good deals on it via Agoda. Breakfast isn't very good, but you have the McDonald's for that or other restaurants up and down the street.

By the way, don't them keep your passport, instead leave a deposit and a photocopy of your passport. They usually take 7000 to 10000 THB that is returned when you return the moped. When they have your passport, they have you by the balls, and can try to extort you for all kinds of bullshit charges if they have your passport.

But this whole passport thing was always hit/miss for me. Sometimes they would not rent me anything without leaving the PP first, regardless of what deposits I put down. This occurs sometimes with outside shop bike rentals but seems to ALWAYS require to keep the PP when you rent it via your hotel.

Also, once when I did leave a deposit (I think it was about 5000b) and got to keep my PP, upon bike return, they still try to extort me for BS charges and other stuff and refuse to give back the full deposit. So, can't win either way.

I wrapped up my two week sojourn to the LOS with a 3 and a half day trip to Chiang Mai (17.7 - 20.7). This was my first time visiting this burg, and while I was impressed by the openness and friendliness of the people, I was a bit disappointed with the nightlife and the hobby scene.

I started my first night in town with a little recon. I was staying at the Raming lodge so it was relatively easy to scout the beer bars on Loh Kroh road. Unfortunately, there really wasn’t much to write home about here. At 10 PM most of the places here only had a few girls, none of which I really fancied. As I have had some success picking up freebies and FLs this trip, I decided to check out the club scene. It was also Saturday night so I figured there may be a lot of regular girl types out too. From the thread I gathered that Bubbles, Hot Shot (both at the Pornping Hotel) and Spicy were the places to be. The first two are a short walk from the Hotel. Unfortunately Bubbles is now defunct, having closed about a year ago. Hot Spot is open, but it is more of a place where people go in groups to party together. There are tons of chairs and tables on the floor, making it very difficult to navigate.
There was only one group of 2 girls alone without dudes in tow. And they were soon swooped on by some local guys. Not a real loss, as they weren’t to my taste anyway. I bailed on the place after 1 beer, a little before 1AM.

I thought it was a good time to try Spicy. But the googlemap’s direction for getting there are inaccurate and I soon found myself on the iron bridge that leads away from the center. The bridge is packed with local teens drinking, smoking, trying to cool off in the night breeze off the river, and generally having a good time. I approached a group of them to ask directions to Spicy. Very nice kids, but with the language barrier we didn’t really understand each other. I bid my farewells to them and headed out in what I thought was the right direction, only to be flagged down by one of the kids on a motorbike. He motioned for me to get on and then went out of his way to drive me around town for 15 minutes till we reached Spicy, which is really just outside the southern gate of the city walls. When I tried to give him some money he refused to take it. Eventually I pressed 200 BHT into his hand and told him to buy some drinks and beer for his friends. He smiled and wished me chock dee. Very nice kid. I wish I could speak some Thai, as I think I would have had a great (though most likely non sexual) time hanging out with them on the bridge.

Spicy had been described to me as the “high end nightclub” in the city and I imagined it to look something like the club of the same name in BKK. But this place is strictly a dingy and low rent affair. It makes Walking Street bar in Pattaya look like Studio 54! Its really a converted restaurant with a tiny dance floor that is packed with young farangs hopping up and down. Over weight western girls in (unfortunately) revealing dresses just purchased at the night bazaar. Drunk western dudes in shorts and Beer Chang T-shirts. I man, how frigging retarded can you get? I got approached by a few streetwalkers but 99% of them were LBs. I found this to be the case of the SW scene throughout the trip. I got back to Loi Kroh road and scouted the bars again. Slim pickings. By the time I woke up it was 11:30Am and we didn’t have time for a morning round as I had to shower, pack and be out by 12. I really didn’t mind too much. I’ve been having some amazing sex over the last two weeks and considering the long day(s) ahead of me (an elephant trek followed by 36 hrs of travel home) it was probably a good idea to sleep in. If you do come mongering do recognize that your options are limited and be ready to pounce on the first young thing that strikes your fancy. Your choices here are pretty limited.

I wrapped up my two week sojourn to the LOS with a 3 and a half day trip to Chiang Mai (17.7 - 20.7). This was my first time visiting this burg, and while I was impressed by the openness and friendliness of the people, I was a bit disappointed with the nightlife and the hobby scene.Hate to admit it but what you have posted is generally true. Which is why I no longer visit CM on a regular basis like I did years ago (and even then it was just a so-so mongering scene compare to the rest of LOS.)

Also, there are some nice lookers around but never that many and the reason you never see them is because once someone finds a real honey and books them, they often book them for multiple days or a week as choices in general are slim.

I have not spent a lot of time in CM, but in my limited experience there, I have to agree that if you find an attractive girl that you make a connection with, then barfine her then and there. Unfortunately, I quickly learned that the biggest "downside" of Chiang Mai is the local girls/women, especially from the "university crowd"(who, IMO, couldn"t have looked cuter dressed in their white blouse/navy skirt school uniforms!) are, generally, anti-falang and even speaking to a falang is a "societal stigma"!(the perception is we are the "sum total" of how we conduct ourselves in Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy, Patpong, Pattaya, etc.!)

But, as I will be moving there in a few weeks, I look forward to conduct myself in a way that will attempt to "deflect" this perception!

Are you dressed like a typical tourist? Do you speak proper Thai? How did you approach the girls? Are you old, ugly, dirty?

I just had a VERY bad experience at Number 1 on Loi Khro, which I had previously heard good things about here.

I arrived at 8:00 and had a few drinks with a very cute girl, who didn't speak much english but had a very friendly vibe. She said she finished at 12:00 so I said I would come back at 11:00 and take her with me. She agreed.

I came back at 11:00 and she was still there, very happy to see me and said again that she would go with me at midnight. At 12:00 they tell me that they are staying open late because it is a "special night". I asked how much the barfine was, and manager very clearly said 300 baht. Said it twice and I did not mishear. It seemed like a good deal but it was late so I figured it was a discount. I get the bill and the barfine is 600 baht, I call the manager over and she swears that she never said 300 and there are "no discounts". At this point I am getting a little pissed off but I am looking forward to taking the cutie home and I pay the barfine, at which point the cutie says she is going to change and she will be back in 10 minutes.

I decide to wait exactly 10 minutes and request a refund on the barfine if the girl is a no-show. 10 minutes later another of the girls tells me that the cutie is waiting for me and wants me to follow her into a dark alley. I watch where she is going and go about half way I tell her no way, tell the cutie to come meet my back at the bar where my moto is. So the girl shows up pretending to be falling asleep all the sudden (10 minutes earlier she was full of energy!), so I tell her it's up to her if she wants to stay.

After some hesitation she comes with me, but when we get to my hotel she says she is going to sleep on the couch! What the fuck is that? I gave her 100 baht for a tuk tuk and told her to take a hike.

It's too bad because it is actually a decent place to drink, not to pricy and the girls are not allowed to push lady drinks on you. Regardless, if you run into a cute little 20 year old northern girl named "Nan", she's a hustler so watch out. There is no waiting for the end of the shift to save up on bar fines in BKK for example. If the girl is found out she will have to pay dearly.

While there is a bar fine, no 1 bar does not push for johns taking girls out, they actually pay the girls sufficiently but they have to work hard all the time including cleaning the floor, toilet checks etc. Constantly. There is no lazing around there. Their toilets are clean.

The place is well run with great attention to detail and what happens to you after you paid the bf is between you and the girl since you are not buying her outright. Not many girls get barfined there and I had a friend who took girls from there afterhrs without the fine who did not even ask him for money, which again is more in keeping with cm which is not a mongering destination albeit a few service girls are on hand should the need come up.

In my opinion the girls working at no 1 are more keen on finding a boyfriend and the bar itself makes money from selling drinks which is something they pursue hard and the reason I do not go there more often because it feels pushy to me.

Cheers.You are certainly right about that. You might even talk about your experience to whoever it was who actually took your barfine, or the manager at no 1 and ask them if this is customary.

And if you stay longer you will know why not many here 'take out' as they have steady girls. Also as a tip, there are quite a few talented massage girls almost all of whom are unattached and looking. if like me a girl is a main part of your nightly entertainments in thailand, than a visit to chiang mai is going to be disappointing. i know, i have lived here for the last 24 years.

over the last few years, all of chiang mai`s brothels, daytime and nighttime have been closed down and levelled.

due to chiang mai`s ever dwindling numbers of tourists and bored ex-pats, most of the women workers in massage parlours average ages between late 30s to mid 50s plain and ugly, few lookers, have begun offering hand jobs to help supplement their income. sounds good but many insist of no touching, no nudity on their part, no kissing, no nothing. for a happy ending they try to push for 500 baht but i never offer more than 300 baht, that’s not including the massage. this after a while has become boring and one would get more satisfaction from just having a wank and cheaper too.

the 2 or 3 soapy massages left in chiang mai are total rip-offs. very clinical, no kissing allowed, lots of tissues and the sex inhibited. cannot be compared in anyway shape or form to the soapys in bangkok. they charge whatever they think the customer is dumb enough to pay and get it over with a.s.a.p, no thrills, no massage and lookers few and far between.

than there is the limited bar scene, now mostly all clumped together in and around one street, the loi kroh road. nothing much elsewhere.

the *****s there are uniformly ugly. not young, not old, average age perhaps around 30ish, but ugly. they have misshapen bodies and ugly faces; the lookers which are few and far between, make no impression at all, they are indifferent and inert. this seems to be a characteristic of this place.

at first impressions they seem fun to be around with, full of compliments, kindnesses, praises and agreeable noises; they are good fondlers at first; that is the bait to catch you, but they won’t keep you waiting long before the pressure begins to make you buy drinks and the subject of money is brought to your attention. if bar fined and in the bed you will discover that the majority of them have low libidos, low stamina, poor apparatus, mental reservations, and non-existent foreplay techniques. the mission of the women is to get the men plied up with as much booze as possible, as this is the main benefits of their business, big profits on drinks.

all nude, semi nude and sex shows are banned in chiang mai. even the old familiar hello, welcome has been banned. so if visiting a bar don`t expect to find anything more than you would see in a normal open bar or drinking establishment.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been to Chiang Mai so I was eager to return and check out my old favorites. After dinner with my colleagues I snuck off and hit Foxy Lady first as it used to be the best go-go in town. It was a Sunday night about 10:30PM and it was super slow. It was just me and one other guy and 3 disinterested girls on stage and a few on the couches. There was no energy at all in the bar so I drank my beer and left. Mamasan said she remembered me which knowing them is maybe true. I think she said some of the girls were at a birthday party which might explain things. I remember a lot of fun nights there in 2007 with lots of girls and having fun before taking one out.

From there I went off to Spotlight which I actually hung out in more a few years ago with my buddies. I walked up the street looking into the other bars and they were very slow too. I eventually made it to the Entertainment center and walked in. That area actually seemed bigger than I remembered it, but it’s probably the same as I didn’t hang out there much.

Raming Lodge is very girl friendly. It's my favorite place to stay when in CM when the company isn't footing the bill.

It has a great location right next to the bars at the top of Loi Kroh Rd, it's a 5 minute walk from Spotlight, and a 5 minute walk from the entertainment complex on the other end of the road.

I like the sort of rustic rooms and it seems clean with great big beds. The breakfast isn't great, but they do have one.

It's not a luxury place like the Shangri La, but it's my #1 choice when I'm paying my own way.

Stayed there a month ago for one week. Nice rooms, nice bathrooms, everything ok.
They have a good price on the centara website which I booked from. Offer for only room without breakfast. I not get up very early and prefer to go out for some late breakfast/lunch instead. Girlfriendly of course.

The airport pick up is not so important I think. Only 100 thb to take a taxi anyway, but if you book a de luxe room for about 1400 thb you get a stunning view of the city. Very nice.
I was very happy with the hotel in general. And I think I will stay there the next time I will visit in October.

Took the plane up North for the weekend - lots of temples and shopping in the day then wandering round for girls at night.

Certainly it is there if you want it - don't think it is the desert that some have made it out to be.

The 3 key areas were the beer bars then the walk up Loi Kroh and then Spotlight.

The beer bars with the boxing ring were pleasant with a reasonable range of girls - reminded me of the quieter bars in Phuket with no real pressure for drinks from the girls.

"The system" is to get you to pay for drinks, and all the drinks in the bar cost about the same. Even water. I sometimes drink nice hot coffee in a gogo. Nobody minds in the least.

no problem. you will be charged the same prices for alcoholic drinks whatever drinks you order. not of course forgetting the lady drinks usually watered down coke, also same price as alcoholic drinks.

the loi kroh road bar owners would like customers to spend a good few hundred baht on drinks and lady drinks before doing the deed. if attempting to shortcut the bar ritual, the girl may say she this is a busy time and to come back later. best time for this would be near to bar closing time when the girls that are still left in the bar are seeking a few more bahts before breakfast time.

no problems with getting involved with **** girls in that loi kroh road bar area or even barely legal. most are in their late late 20s, 30s and even up to late 40s. most of the few and far between lookers in the bars are put there purely for show to attract in the punters. these rarely go out unless willing to offer a huge stack of cash or the girl really likes you.

there are some so-called escort agencies covering chiang mai, all of them on line. they charge approx from 5000 per hour just for their time and company. extras have to be agreed with the girl. most of these girls are mostly bar girls, who have caught on that promoting themselves as an escort brings in more cash than using the title, bargirl. when viewing the escort websites, you may notice that the photos have been photoshopped. maybe a disappointment when actually meeting them in the flesh so to speak.

Just got back from a 5 day trip in CM and I am pleased to report that the p2p scene is very much alive and kicking. It is pretty much all around from the hundreds of MP's all over the city to specific places of interest like Sayuri which provides an excellent soapy massage with full service.

Regular pricing for a standard massage girl is around THB 1000 especially if you call her to your room. Most of them are willing to come to your room on the pretext of a 'full massage' and then its all fair play as long as the tip is good enough. 3 years ago an American friend took me there. It`s a 4 or 5 story converted block of flats. On the ground floor outside at the front of the building there is a small noodle shop where they sell Thai food and serve drinks. Mostly frequented by young Thai guys and is the pickup point for the girls.

Luckily my American friend speaks fluent Thai because no one in there can speak English. If you go alone or with other farangs who don’t speak Thai, you have no chance. On the night there were 2 girls available. One was very thin and looked ill. I always avoid them in fear of catching something although even the healthier ones could still have Aids. If short time see Sayuri, Pandora, Foxy Lady or go to bars on Loi Kroi Road. I think the women are prettier here, maybe because of the mix with the Chinese and different facial feature (ie high check bone). Some people like lighter skin but this is not important to me as it is with some. I think Thais worry about skin color more than falang.

If you do get a girlfriend be careful where you play. This is a small town and you really have to be careful. My girlfriend goes to a beauty shop who services many women from Sayuri, etc. Not good for me.

Every Thai town has some type of brothels. One thing in common is all these girls are over stretching their limits. When I was younger, I liked these off the track adventures for mostly my curiosity. Many better looking ones can do over 20 guys a day. Once a pretty karaoke brothel girl in Kanchanaburi told me her record was 30 guys on a Sunday. She also proudly kept a record of her earning, in case the boss tries to cheat her.

Another disgusting common scene is piles of juicy condoms in the trash cans.
People who have been to Nimmaheimin brothels, or lady houses in all over Issan and upcountry Thailand or all over SEA, are familiar with this spectacle. Also many places do not change towels, a few same towels will be used by hundreds of guys. I have seen girls who are too busy and do not even wash in between customers.

In Thailand, these so called hidden places are not really hidden, in every bigger town, any samlor driver will take you to these local joints for a commission. You may be welcomed or may not. These joints cater to Thai working class, rich Thais do not come here.

If you are young and so horny, and can shoot dead fish in any circumstances, then you can accomplish the mission. Or your budget is only 10USD, then go for it.

Standard go go type place quiet small and some fairly decent looking girls allowing for the low lighting, if you want a better look wait till they go outside to smoke.

It is walking distance from everywhere and very very easy to reach. Do not be silly to go there by tuktuk, you will cause the price to rise as stated in their website too. Just walk, easy.

First you find the Navarat bridge and continue untill the big bird sign on the right. Then turn left and continue 5 minutes more that's it! (I made it to there in 12 minutes by walking from Night Market)

There were no mamasan or papasan to push nobody. However there is a teacher like uncle with glasses assisting to collect the money and writing the numbers of the girls on board. It is funny and cool. I like it this way. Very professional.
