Heading to Patong Beach in December. Have an apartment on the north end off of Phra Barami Road and Rat-U-Thit. Recently read that the Tuk-Tuks are a ripoff and no Bhat Buses in the evening. Curious to know how far a walk it is from the north end down into Bangla Road? Also if anyone can share the most economical means of getting around short of renting a moto. Too dangerous for me to consider that option, but do not want to pay $5-6 each way if I can avoid it. If the walk is 10 min, no problem. But am unable to figure out how far it is from my apartment to the entertainment area. Am surprised that there are not Bhat Busses that run the circuit. Everywhere else I have been in Thailand, they have been the most economical form of transportation. Des not seem to be the case on Patong. Despite the advice of my friend Netty Bumpo not to waste time and money on massage places in Phuket I had to seek shelter from the heat after an all morning motorcycle ride. Boots & Saddle Bar in Patong Beach, Phuket is opposite C&N Hotel on Bangla Road. I came with friends from Australia. We had a wonderful experience. The staff is honest, the drinks are very strong, the music is off the hook. There are about 20+ beautiful ladies. Age ranging between 19. 38 years old. The best part is the owner is a foreigner. What makes this an advantage is that they have to comply with all Thai laws. What this means, the Thai owners don't. Example. Whereas, Boots & Saddle Bar have to keep copies of all the ladies and maintain their medical updated. So, having a foreigner owner, they must keep all things honest and above board. Once I found this place, I was able to keep a tab. Get rides to and from the airport or hotel. They directed me to honest taxi people, helped me out when I lost my credit card. They were their when I got in a motorbike accident the the motorbike rental place tried to rip me off, etc. What I saw in the 3 weeks in Patong and going bar hopping, Boots & Saddle is the best.

The positives.
-Economical.

-Very close to the action.
Negatives.
-Lousy breakfast.
-Rooms in the old wing are in a bad shape.
-Internet connection keeps dropping.
If you head from the hotel towards the beach on Bangla road, there is a pub / disco which has a couple of Russian (CIS) women standing outside and beckoning punters. Since I did not venture in, I am not sure if they do take out, and what the cost is.

As for Phuket, I've only been here for a couple of days now but I really am impressed. It is amazing. Just the right blend of relaxation and adult fun. Lots of clean beaches. Many pristine islands nearby. Most of it looks better in reality than any picture can do justice to it. Very laid back vibe. And tons of non hooker related stuff to do. I don't want to leave.
Patong is as dirty and brash as Pattaya. And the roads all over are narrow and winding with potholes. Also, there is no public transport to speak of.
But I can live with that, given the plethora of activities and the views from the beaches. For me it really is paradise found.
I'm staying in Karon and have an amazing view that opens up right to the beach and ocean, for $800/ mo incl breakfast. Waking up to the view feels like a million bucks. Kata beach I always liked, could get there by scooter from Patong and sit on the beach on a deck chair and the sea was clean. But went there today and it has been stripped of deck chairs and all the drink huts have gone, I've no idea why? I did see one of the Thai chair renters beat up two Russians with a stick once, one for some argument over a drink and one was over a chair.
This is a result of a "cleanup" campaign launched by the junta that has taken over Thailand. Spent a very enjoyable week in Patong, Phuket. The information in the forum and from a few Senior members via PM was quite helpful.
I chose to rent a car from Hertz at the airport to keep from paying two big taxi bills but more importantly to see the island. During the day, I traveled the entire island looking at views and potential retirement spots. The only other time I drove was to the mall because of the monsoon rains. Patong is shit. I have been saying that since the first day that I got here. First world prices and third world conditions. It's like a giant Pattaya but worse, quadruple the cost and not even half the quality of girls.
The only THREE bars on Bangla road, and all of Patong where I have found truly beautiful girls are:
1: Rock Hard a Go go. First bar on the right upon entering from Ratutit road (not the beach, but the other (Jungceylon) end of Bangla). Go upstairs, it's on the upper level. Still I always assumed there was a reasonable balancing act going on in Phuket between poontang and beaches, I. E. They are both like two Fort Lauderdales, but with better food. And at night Bangla is overrun with a very young "coed" and backpacker tourist crowd. It kind of feels like Panama City, Florida during spring break. Still I can't help the impression Suzi Wong left on me that there are some hot girls to be had there for the right price.
The bottom line is I wouldn't want to stay a long time in Phuket, but a day or two coming and going, renting a car or a motorcycle, visiting the various beaches during the day, hitting Suzi Wong or some disco at night, while staying in a small hotel on Kamala Beach or even the Royal Phawadee would not be too hard to take. The water is very clear and beautiful compared to Pattaya and little fishes are swimming around your feet. That said, I will be going back to Palawan on my next trip not Phuket. The PI has more of the kind of beaches I like. Like Phi Phi in '89 only NOW! Bring your own girl, that's all.
On BKK, I couldn't agree with you more, Mike. BKK is an amazing city. It has it all and in astonishing variety. BKK is where it is at. I think about the possibility of renting a condo off upper Sukhumvit and learning Thai all the time. And when you need a break from the big mango, you have all the other great watering holes in SE Asia to choose from. Jakarta and MNL are only 3 hours away.

The Yacht club still exists, and I wasn't even born in 89 but for the Phuket of today Nai harn is still quaint. I live between Nai Harn and Rawai now. It's a residential area. Primarily expat neighborhood now though. My next door neighbors are Russians, Ozzies, British and Americans. I often feel like the only Indian on the island haha. Very multicultural though.
I don't get the appeal of Surin and Kamala. It's supposed to be more premium, but in what sense? The prices of the houses? It's not that big of an island and there are excellent dining options, activities and other amenities spread throughout.
But if you're at that level, your own boat, own house on Kamala's millionaire mile etc. Then it's different and then yeah, maybe.
I don't recall the name of the establishment where I took that particular girl from, but if my memory serves me right it was one of them on the lane going diagonally right down from Angel. I remember even a couple of years ago, one such a girl working in a bar below Tiger was telling me on average she made 20 k in lady drinks alone in a month and with her 12 k salary could pay all her expenses, send money home and save enough to buy a moped. By the way Thai girls get a free drink every time they enter mentioned discos, 3 or 4 of them can also get a bottle service with soft drink to go with it. So you see, it doesn't cost them much to go out and party here.
Suzy Wong gogo is one I go sometimes, 180 b for a beer (surprisingly no change here). If you get lucky they dance in their birthday suits sometime. I was in Phuket a couple of weeks ago with my wife and spend two nights there. Most of the time was consumed with doing the touristy stuff including visiting temples, sunset point, and also a sunrise Phiphi island tour. I decided to skip the snorkeling and swimming during that trip and encouraged my wife to enjoy the swimming and snorkeling. That was the best decision of the trip. I just returned from another Phuket trip and again thoroughly enjoyed my time at Salathai. I had the Superior Room and I believe they have one class higher. They are a solid three star place, but at your budget you should get four stars.

I made a second trip to Phuket last week. Honestly, I don't have a lot of new info to share but will report for S&G. From the airport, I decided to try the bus / mini van option for a mere 180 be. It had been a long day of flights, but I figured what the hell. Turned out to be a great decision. I paid the fee, got a ticket, started asking which bus, which van. In no time, a girl put me in the right line and minutes later I was on my way with 8 others. It was a rainy, stormy night but we had the safety and cool AC of a quality minivan. It even had working seatbelts. We stopped half-way to ensure they could get us all to the correct hotel in one van and that the driver was good to go. Also, gave us time for bathroom or water. We were back on the road but as we got closer to the road construction traffic really got bad. Again, I was glad to be in the roomy van. I got dropped off a few blocks from my be&be, the Patong Beach be&be. I wanted to try a low-budget (900 be per night) place and it turned out to be a good deal and a good location. I dropped my luggage off and headed to Kristen's Massage for the total package. I sat down with manager, he asked me several questions about what I wanted and helped my choose. I selected number 16 (she is always 16). She has some legit massage experience as well as a rockin' bod. I paid the 3200 ($100) with no regrets. I got an excellent massage, some playful tub time, the full body-to-body experience which she did well using every limb and limb joint she has plus the Russian style. When she had me pretty worked up, she moved me to the bed, put the glove on and let me have about six different positions before I finished. Her service and attitude were good, but she did ask straight-up for a tip which for me is a negative.

There was no pressure to buy a drink, but once I had chosen a girl and offered bar fine, she asked me to simply come back at night and buy her a drink. She also offered to do me herself. All of the girls were 30-something with an extra 5 pounds but not at all ugly. I ended up spending two days with one called Pizza. For 1000 be per day, no bar fine, we had a blast and as much boom-boom as I wanted. Also, it turned out the bar was a nice, quiet place to hang.
I moved to Salathai hotel after three days at the be&be and pretty much did everything that I said in my previous report from September (Lobos Bar, Country Bar, BeWell Massage) so I won't re-hash old info. However, I do want to mention that there is a new Arabic restaurant on the same street as Salathai but on the opposite side of the road near the Russian restaurant and the 7-11. Do not eat there. I got horrible food poisoning. Lost a whole day of coitus operations! Repeat do not eat at the new Arabic place.
Supposedly, December is high season, but I did not really notice a difference from September. Except, that the beaches are SO MUCH better with all the gypsy, mafia vendors out of the way.
Overall (logistics, prices, girls), I think Phuket is alright (50-something, middle-income) and I will repeat.

Best way to arrange for a threesome is to pick one girl and ask her to choose a friend to join. Just putting together two random girls is unlikely to work well. Mind you, you will probably end up with "serial" encounters: I. E. One girl playing with you and the other watching (or checking her smartphone) and then switching. The most you would probably pay for a top gogo girl is 100-120 EUR (750 for a week) for the night inc. Barfine, and that's in gogo and if you're unlucky, don't haggle at all, and for 1 night. Bangla is ok for pick ups. Try Suzi Wong's. But keep in mind that Phuket is a distant third place compared to Thailand's prime hunting grounds of BKK and Pattaya. If you have never done BKK or Pattaya then they should be at the top of your must see / must do list. Phuket, on the other hand has much nicer beaches than Pattaya. Went to Christin yesterday. Fer is now 3300. Went in at around 7 pm. Had about 20 girls in fish bowl. Quality a bit disappointing. Nobody was good looking and everyone looked old. Its been a few years since I'v been to Patong, has there been any increase on prices for go-go girls f / l or bar girls since my last visit 3 years ago. Looking to take some trim for LT sessions, as I like to get a few pops in with out them rushing off back to the bars. Last time I paid 2000 TB for LT as the ones I picked were worth the cash.

Prices at Christmas were 3000 for LT / overnight up to 4000 for the better ones (ie in Suzy Wongs).
Beer bar girls were lower asking around 2500, and often as cute or cuter / younger.
Massage place girls were asking 2000 and a fine depending on whether you waited til they finished or took them early (fine, around 500 baht).
Too escape fines wait til after midnight and try your luck in discos, for massage girls, beer bar, go go girls and freelancers.
Price there seemed to be 2000 the could bargain lower later in night.

For the second day we had planned for Phi Phi island.
It was whole day trip, we were damn tired while coming back due to snorkeling, swimming etc.
It was late 10 in night when we reached hotel near Christine massage.

Hi all,
Arriving again tonight (last visited at Christmas just passed). Again planning on some scuba diving surrounded by diving of the punting kind. And latest updates on recent must visit places would be much appreciated.
Am skipping Kristins, going once last time was more that enough. Massage places are unlikely to be a success. They are all setup to offer discrete services to solo males is small crowded back rooms. The good broad beds at front never get happy endings or FS. Thai girls are too shy for that.
Suggestions are to either talk to a mamasan at a beer bar at night for a girl to return with you.
Or use online selection so you can talk privately.
I was there last week and has lots of success chatting and arranging catch-ups in Patong with girls via WeChat and Badoo.
