Hi guys!

Just back from Phuket and wanted to share my experiences. Stayed the first 3 nights in Kata Noi. I have read in the forums that there was no action so I was not surprised. The only thing you might want to know is that the Kata Thani hotel charges 1500 Baht for overnight visitors. I thought that was too expensive so I did not even look for a gal to take home. You would not even find somebody in Kata Noi. Kata and Karon also seemed to be really quiet, low season. And to pay another 700 Baht for tuk tuk for the girl and 1000 for her services, come on! So I had some relaxation on the beach. I went to daytrip down Phuket town. There the taxi drivers show you pictures of girls in massage parlors. Massage and full service for 500 Baht. I didn´t believe this and did not try. But I had lunch there for 50 Baht so nothing is impossible. Went in front of the Palace hotel where the massage parlor is but it was very quiet in the afternoon.
5 days on Phi Phi island and no action at all, as the Phi Phi Island Village hotel is very separated and you can only go there by longtail boat. Anyhow, a lucky guy brought three TGs with him and certainly had fun.

For the last 4 nights I stayed in Patong, Club Andaman. And guess, how much they charge for a lady: 2000 Baht, no kidding! So I thought the best deal was to see Christine´s massage parlor as service is about 1500 Baht. But it all went different. First night I went to Tai Pan disco, where they had a live band. After 10 minutes sitting alone a BG, Dee, 24, appeared from nowhere. She was a freelancer and after a drink she offered my short time, sXck and fXck and massage for 500 Baht. I knew from the reports that was the going rate so I did not bargain. She knew a hotel where 3 hours where 300 Baht, all night 400 just down the street so we went there. She showered, than I, then we had some fun. One my way back to girls on the street offered me short timers for 500 Baht. I refused.

Next night I went to Star World disco where I found another girl. She was headed for long time, 1000 Bath and took me to a mansion that charged 500 Baht all night. Much nicer than the one before, with air con, TV, fridge and so on. If you want I can post the address. Well, anyway we had fun for the night. Next night I took the same girl (she considered herself being my short term girlfriend, so I got her for 500 Baht for the next nights) back to my hotel. I thought the worst that could happen was they wouldn´t let her in or she would have to be registered - in the latter case we would have left for another mansion. But the security guard at the back entrance could be "convinced" with 500 Baht (which I would have spent for the other room anyway) so we could go to my room. But he told us that next night we shoul not try as the guards change. Before we got to the hotel we went to an a-gogo-bar. About 15 girls dancing on the tables, but all covered. I was told you pay 1000 Baht to get her out of the bar and 2000plus to spend the night with them.

The next day we spent on the beach together. For my last night we went to another hotel that charged another 400 baht all night. It was okay. I where looking throughout the day for a room and also went to the Valhalla. Met the manager and he wanted 800 Baht for a regular room. But I did not chose it.

Club Andaman wanted another 1000 Baht for late check out. My flight was at night. So the girl, June from Chiang Rai, 24, took me to her place. She lives in a bedroom with bathroom together with 2 other girls in Patong. Same story I read here before: Just a bargirl for some months, mother sick, no money for studying, looking for a job. I gave her one of my private email-addresses so we will see how long she needs to send me the first pledge.

After all, Patong is THE sex tourism destination. It´s fun to go down the street and all the bargirls trying to get you inside. At the time I was there we had a Japanese gay convention. It was fun seeing the boys walk down the streets hand in hand and all the BGs dissapointed. For the ladyboys, I was a little bit irritated. I thought it would be hard to recognize one. But you can see it very obviously and when they begin to talk your will know. Weather was very bad, more rain than sunshine, Thai food was not spicy enough - they cook for the tourists but I am trained to eat Thai food so I was disappointed. But this doesn´t belong here. Patong has no real good Go-Go bars, there is some one in Soi Easy I think, with some show, but no nude girls or sex show. The Police have closed the places with good shows. But Patong have several good places like Star world, Banana Club, that is big discos with a lot of local "working girls” and tourists out for girls or just dancing. There is as well Tai Pan and VIP, and a new place that open this weekend. Just south of Patong on the way to Karon you have place called Safari Club, its bit outdoor/indoor place, they have often open late, after 2 AM, any tuk-tuk driver can bring you there, dint pay more than 150 baht (max 200).
Then it is Bangla with all the beer bars.

I also just got back from 5 days in Phuket. It rained every day and I never saw the sun. Still I managed to have some great sex and fun. Let me tell you the trick to not paying to bring girls back to your room is to make a reservation for 2. I do this all the time and when they try and collect, I remind them that I have paid for a room for 2 and this is my girlfriend. It always works and you don't pay anything extra for a reservation for 2 people.

I so much enjoy the ratio of women to men in Patong it has to be 10 to 1 or more. I had great luck in Thai Pan as they are still a great place to go. At night when all the bars close, that is where all the girls go. It is packed wall to wall with girls and the price at this time of the evening goes down and is very negotiable. Star world disco was ok, I met a nice girl there that I enjoyed, but I like a different girl each day in Thailand. Variety is the spice of life. One thing that I do in the disco is buy a bottle. If you order 4 or 5 drinks, you have paid for the bottle anyway. The bottle on your table attracts some nice action. I did see way to many lady boys at Star World and that made me uncomfortable. There was this one girl who danced at the hard rock that was half Indian and half Thai. She was very beautiful and sexy. I enjoyed her so much, she was very talented and gets a major thumbs up if you see her. Christine massage as always was good. For some reason I think my time each visit was shorter then it used to be. I am not sure if this is something they are doing on purpose. I also went to the massage place in Phuket town and had a grea massage there. Nothing like a soapy to put a smile on your face. I cannot wait to go back.

I flew to Phuket on August 15th. Sorry this is so delayed. I've been busy. I purchased a ticket on Air Bangkok on the 13th for about $120 round trip. I used the travel agency very close to Majestic Suites. They were nice enough to have my tickets dropped off at the front desk. Majestic to Airport took about 20 minutes and that was in the afternoon. I allowed 2 hours and I only needed an hour tops for travel, check in and boarding. Airport screeners in Bangkok are a joke. Not that I would ever try to smuggle something. But I think these people aren't cut out for such brain numbing work. Thai are meant to have fun and security screener is a soul sucking job.

The waiting area for Air Bangkok passengers is very nice. It even has complimentary drinks and snacks, even free Internet access. Not that I got to use it. Some people are such pigs. Anyway, we boarded. Now this is the way to fly. The flight attendants are young and lovely. I included a pic for your pleasure. They are all young and lovely and dressed like they give a damn about how they look. So different from the old wide flight attendants back in the states.

It was a 40 minute ride to the hotel in the rain. I stayed at the Patong Villa. What a dump. Someone on this board recommends this place?!? No wash cloths. And the bed is slightly less comfortable than sleeping on the floor. Now a good bed is a must. I like to be comfortable while enjoying the local talent.

Which brings us to the girls. Lots of young lovelies. And I mean lots. The girls and everyone else on the island is far more pushy and grabbing at you to look at their goods for sale. Because I am hungry and tired. It gets on my nerves the first night.

Eventually, I discover the charm that is the bar scene in Patong. It is nice to enjoy the open air bars. The cold drinks and the neat ice cold towellette things. I really like having the games to play with all the girls. It can get old trying to make conversation when you don't speak the same language. I spend a good deal of time with a fun mammason and a very new and cute girl playing connect four and drinking drinks. I am so torn. I was planning on spending time at Star World disco (AKA Star Wars). And picking up a freelancer there. But this girl was seriously cute. But she couldn't speak a word of English. And my Thai is barely better. I decide to stick to the plan and hit the disco.

Enter the Star World. I practically open the place by showing up at 11 PM. I find this is the norm in Patong. Things get swinging very very late. A little time playing pool. A little groping on one of the couches. And then back to the hotel. Unfortunately, the light in the hotel isn't as flattering as the disco. She has a far less pretty face than I thought. Her body is OK, but it is a little hairy. I decide to use a glide dental dam on her. I'm glad I did. I'm now sitting in an internet place in Patong Beach and the weather has finally turned beautiful. Of course my flite to BKK leaves in 3 hous so the weather is not that important to me. I've only been here two nights and the great seafood keeps bringing me back--OK, the "ladies" too.

Arrived two nites ago from BKK and got to the hotel about 5PM in pouring rain. The hotel Sali Thai is in the heart of Patong Beach, is pretty new, quite nice, and charges no joiner fee for one lady. For more than one at a time, they apparently charge, but I never tried that. The first night, after walking in the rain with an umbrella provided by the hotel, a cute young thing grabbed my arm while walking down Soi Bangla and that was it. She was on break from the Boots and Saddle Beer Bar so we went to her bar, paid the 200 baht fine and she stayed with me for two days. All perversions were available. Re: the cost of 5 days debauchery in Patong/Phuket, it really depends on your budget. But to live well I would consider spending a £100 a day ($160 U.S.) This should cover a good hotel, local travel and entertainment of your choosing!
I was there this time last year (returning in 2 weeks) and the ratio of women to men was around 10-1 at least!

Phuket:
Taxis equipped with fare meters will come into service at Phuket international airport next month, said governor Udomsak Asawarangkura.

Private cars operating as taxis and airport limousines would also be required to install meters.

Prasit Amrapal, Phuket transport office chief, said there were currently 700 ordinary cars operating as taxis in Phuket. These vehicles will be required to join two existing companies running taxi services _ Phuket Taxi Meter and Nathong_ to operate properly as metered taxis.

Well guys, I defer to your greater knowledge on this topic. Opebo hasn't had sex for free in a year, much less ever gotten paid for it. Patong sucks! I have been there 2 weeks ago. It is the most expensive and touristy place all over thailand. There are to many package tourists who stay only 2-3 weeks and overpay the girls. The girls are totally spoilt. But I have to admit that there are many very beautiful girls.

Christian Massage is a must see for at least once. The first time I went there and got the body massage, I fucking could not believe how sensual it was. The massage itself was better than the sex that followed. However, on my second visit, it kind of got old, but still very enjoyable. Make sure you get friendly with the manager ( they all dress up like they are going to an English cocktail party ) and make sure he understands that you want someone who is good at body massage. Some girls there don't do that and just offer straight sex.

For gogo bar, don't waste anytime, just go right over to Rockhard A gogo. Music is good but drinks are a little expensive. I think the best lookers in Phuket are in this joint. ST 2000, LT 3000. I was in patong last night and started late around midnight. it should be noted that the best girls are gone by then and that all or most of the bars close around 2:30AM.

Day 2

For those who are not famliar with the scene Soi Bangla is the main street for action in Patong and it is just unbelieveable.

First the number of girls is incredible, they are everywhere and all are available and generally very friendly and smiling, some real stunners. It is like being a mice trapped inside a cheese, you don't know where to start.

Second, everything is very cheap, maybe 300 to 400 Bahts for drinks and 1000B to 1500B for the girl for all night depending on the time & place of pickup. I have not quite been able to get the girls to do multi sessions though, usually they just wake up and leave in the AM.

Third, there is a party atmosphere that is kind of reminiscent of Cancun or New Orleans for those who have been there, but on infinitely wilder scale and with the sex element which is not necessarily available in the above mentioned places. Here, every girl is available, everywhere. It is unbelievable. Lots of Europeans, I suppose because they have a lot of vacation and the exchange rate is very favorable.

The beach is OK, but not the greatest I have seen, so I would guess people come here more for the bars than for the beach, though the latter is extremely crowded during the day.

Back to Day 2, went to Christin MP around 7PM. It is indeed very easy to find though a prior report located it "behind the Patong Beach Hotel" which may not be the easiest way to locate it (there is actually a bunch of MPs on the other side of the hotel, which is also "behind" depending on where you are. I would say the easiest for a visitor in town is to walk down Soi Bangla which you will obviously be familiar with since it is THE center of the action, away from the beach. Turn right at the first and only main street you will encounter and keep walking for a few minutes, then you can't miss the signs & pink building.

Chistin has 3 windows, 1800B, 2000B and 2200B or something like that depending on the window. Same service but I was politely told the "ugly" girls cost less and the beautiful ones cost more. Nice.. You come in and sit by the fish bowl. There are some huge pillars in the center that will actually prevent you from seeing all the girls (maybe 30 of them) from all but a couple tables so that is not very convenient. Mahal, with all due respect I think you're mischaracterizing the situation at Christine's. The girls there are workers -- they can quit anytime they want and leave. The rule is that if they want to work there, be fed and given a room, they must agree to stay inside unless taken out by a customer. Given what Phuket is like (as your report so eloquently points out) and there are TGs and customers everywhere, this means that the management wants them to earn their money inside rather than outside so they get their cut, and that girls who basically attempt to stiff Christine's are not going to be employed there. They're going to keep the customers happy, so the girls can go with them if it's something specific, but otherwise they're protecting their investment (gotta pay for that place, the papasan, etc.) in an unscale market niche where most girls on Soi Bangla undercut them on price.

Do the math for a minute -- 3 to 7 customers a day (figure a conservative average of four for argument's sake) at 350b per means an income of over 40,000baht per month not even counting tips, and room and board on top of that. Add in tips at a conservative 150bath average, and you're talking another 20k. This is all presuming she doesn't also get a base salary, which is usually the case (though I don't know the specifics at Christine's.) Even using my conservative approach, that's a huge income for any Thai, and it's far, far more than most freelancers are going to make. There are plenty of bad places in LOS where women are truly taken advantage of and where they're either paying off family debts or only getting 100b or less a throw, but someone who's making over $1500USD per month and can quit and leave anytime they want is hardly coerced and under the horrible thumb of the mafia. She was just bitching about boring working conditions -- and small wonder she'd not really want to leave with that income.

Bottom line -- her rap worked half-way. You gave her a bigger tip, (as many probably do after hearing her tale of woe, increasing that income accordingly) but you didn't take her out so she didn't manage to get another 2k or so out of you -- or someone else, if she'd have left you to freelance until she returned to Christine's the next morning.

Pattaya and Phuket are both great places to visit. I normally do 5 days in each place. Pattaya is bigger with tons of bars but it's not as clean or scenic as Phuket. Phuket is more expensive but I think it's worth it. Start out with a bang and go to Pattaya first, then fly down to Phuket (1.10 min flight from Bangkok). Pattaya has many more singles, where Phuket is more family orientated.

The tourists that go to Phuket with thier foriegn vacation budgets have basically ruined the place therefore there is price gouging everywhere. I am told of police are running alot of businesses in town and are opportunists when it comes to nabbing a farang.

Many of the girls selling it in Phuket are from Esan places like Udon Thani so you are generally not tasting local meat. The common thais that go there on vacation get gouged too.

Also be carefull on your rented motobike as to not get in an accident. Also the water is cleaner than Pattaya and there are multiple beaches to get to if you like to explore. All the reefs are broken and that is sad but there are nice fish to see. As far as hotties I would say I saw one in ten.

All I can say is that i am really happy to be back in Bangkok.

If you rent a motorbike and get into an accident that damages the bike, get it fixed before you return it to the rental agent. I've heard of rental agents charging up to ten times the actual cost of getting a bike repaired. It's usually very inexpensive to get a bike repaired yourself and their are lots of repair shops.

Last time I was in Phuket, some local friends of mine took me to the City Hotel downtown Phuket, and it was a real eye opener!

Took me up to the 4/F and walked down the long corridor of the floor and saw that each of the rooms had a couple/three really stunning looking girls inside - with the door wide open. Ooooops! Are you sure that the prices you quoted are correct? I went to City with a couple very established "players" in Phuket - and the Baht 3,000/4,000 are the prices they told me. They really, really should know for as I said, they are very well established local businessmen. The night before, they took me to Patong and I got 'serviced' o/n by "just an OK girl" for Baht 2,000 and thus I figured that the slightly higher price for these stunners was well worth it. (They also paid the same price for theirs). On the Baht 800 "Taxi Fare" yeah - I definitely know that I was being overly generous as my friends had told me that Baht 200 - 300 would have been enough - but I was totally over the moon over my "friend" and I figured - heck why not!

I apologize to one and all here if I had been guilty of "spoiling the market" - But I really am dying to find out others' experience (and price) for City.

The taxi fares in phuket are rather expensive. Unless it is a moto taxi they are referring to a tuk-tuk, the four wheeled variety. It is about 300 to 500 baht to get just about anywhere on the island [airport to patong, patong to phuket town, etc.]. Moto Taxi's are just as cheap as Bangkok. Should you decide to get a rental bike be fucking careful.

Any discoteque will have a bevy of girls floating about [banana, tiger, star world], and the best action in Patong is at the intersection of Rat-U-Tit rd and Bangla Rd. Grab an ice cold singha from the 7-11 and hover about on soi san sabai. At 2:30 am there will be at 'least' 500 beauties waiting for you. Every shape, size, and kink. 500 baht and up depending on your appearance, thai skills, and negotiating skills....

Down Soi San sabai is 'superstar' and 'Didi's cafe', they stay open 24/7 and when you need to go to the bathroom or want to sit down pop in there.

Don't miss 'PHUKET's best hamburger' stationed on said corner adjacent to the 'Thai Pan disco' every night at about 11:00 pm.

Boy do I miss living in Phuket. The only thing better than that corner at about 2:30 am is RIO.

Boarded Asia Airlines bound for Phuket at 10:30 this morning with my little bundle of Joy in tow. Just a bit of info on hotels in Phuket:

Karon Cafe
Overpriced (1200bt/night w/breakfast) and the room was a bit dirty. No internet. The shower is just a shower head sticking out from the wall next to the toilet and the sink is right next to that. There
s air-con upstairs, but downstairs, where you would spend most of your time, there's only a ceiling fan. Having to climb a very steep, curving, flight of stairs to get to and from my bed was too much; I figured that if I had to [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) in the night I might break my neck on the way to the bathroom. Staff was pleasant though. Stayed one night and checked out in the morning.

Wouldn't recommend it.

Sea Breeze Inn
Good price (800bt/night w/breakfast included) for a decent sized clean room. They advertise that they have internet, but, what this means is that you can buy cards for an ISP at 7-11 and they will not charge you 3BT/minute for the local call. They'll only charge you 1BT/10 minutes. Nice sized shower (good for fucking) and a big bed.

So far, I'd recommend it unless you need a fast internet connection in your room.

Anyone know a good hotel in Phuket, less than 1500BT/night, that has in room broadband internet?

Another good use for bar girls...

Go up to Naiharn Beach -- very crowded but off to the right below the huge resort is an outcropping of rocks. You can scramble over the rocks and have a private area -- your own private little beach depending on the tide.

Also when in phuket don't miss a chance at visiting Surin beach. This has the hardest waves and is perhaps the least popular of beaches. I always thought of this as the 'thai beach'. Every time I went there I found more thais than falangs enjoying the water. Imagine that thais out at a beach. Go towards the north end for some privacy.

Bring Joy into Phuket Town for dinner, drinks, and dancing at Kor Tor Mor. Enjoy Phuket PnG it is changing too quickly....

I hear you about Phuket changing too fast. It's noticeably more Bangkokized since I was here just a year ago. There seem to be many more pushy tuk tuk drivers and hawkers. It's amazing how many 'friends' I have when I walk down the street: "Hello, my friend! Come look at my shitty shit that I want to sell to you for too many baht!"

Still, it is beautiful here, so I can't complain :) I have some amazing photos (the kind I can show my family) and the water is soooo warm and clear.

There are some deserted beaches on the NE of Phuket island, beyond the GibbonRehabilitationCentre, and even near SarasinBridge. But please do remember that public nudity in Thailand is a big NO-NO! So you will have to fuck your Bundle of Joy with your clothes on:(...

Around Krabi: forget about empty beaches. Perhaps a privat boattour to one of the islands is an idea. You will just have to find a way to stop the nosey boatdriver from following you on the island... Boatprices, see pic

Many, almost all, bars in Patong have satellite tv and most, if not all, prefer to show sports of some sort, mainly via ESPN.
I'm just presuming that 'playoff' has something to do with sports, right? Shouldn't you be off playing yourself...?).
There are one or two expat oriented places in Phuktet with satellite as well, but Patong is your best bet.

I've yet to find a place that played a basketball game. Of course, given thte time difference, most basketball games are taking place around 8-10AM, so the bars aren't open. Plenty of Soccer though.

I'm staying in a hotel room over here, and there's nothing but old and ugly as far as the eye can see (not very far given the closeness of the buildings). not mongering info, but i figure it might be useful to some of you:

took two trips over the past few days. one to james bond island (with canoeing by a guide included) and one to phi phi island (including the bay where they filmed the beach). both trips were great.

the bond island trip was kind of a leisurely sightseeing trip with lots of picture opportunities but not much unstructured time. there were only about 15 people on board a double decker boat, so there was space for everyone. the canoeing was great because someone else did the paddling and pointed out wild life and terrain features (including a stone shark).

the phi phi trip was spectacular for the scenery and provided some good snorkeling. unfortunately, the trip was made with about 30 people packed onto a speedboat and i felt rushed until the last stop of the day. the beach used for the beach was only alloted about 20 minutes. the boat barely slowed at some locations that would have been great photo ops. got to see some neat tropical fish, and my bundle of joy found she likes this activity better than video games. hopefully that will get her further along the road to getting dive certified. anyway, the last trip of the day was about 2 hours of unstructured time on a beach, but, again, it was just too crowded for my tastes.

both trips are worth taking, but, if you can only do one, i recommend the james bond island canoe trip for it's leisurely pace.

the price for these trips, as listed on the flyers, would have been 2200bt/person/trip for a total of 8800bt. as with everything in this land of begging smiles the price is negotiable. now, i know that freeler would have had them paying him to allow them to take him on the trip, but i'm pretty happy with having paid a total of 4600bt. point is, negotiate for everything :)

There are however trips on a 'normal' boat to do the PhiPhi tour, with a transfer to another boat either on PhiPhiDon, the main island, or PhiPhiLay, the small one. These trips are way cheaper and perhaps they are not offered in Patong...
You got to see the The Beach beach, which is something of a rarity - most captains decide the waves are too high and say sorry 'we no go today - tomorrow waves ok'.

The JB tour is just sooo wonderful...

On to the report, the first part of which is basically notes on the Patong nightlife...

05 Apr (part 1)
On my last night in Phuket and I figured I owed it to the WSG to go out and do some research, and, since Joy had been worn out by the snorkeling trip, she was only good for two pops, so I popped 50mg of V (just to make sure I wasn’t gonna waste my baht), locked away the Playstation’s power cord (rules are rules), and was soon situated in a Tuk Tuk on my way to Soi Bangla in Patong.

Not sure about a 3-4 star, but the hotels in Karon are decent. There is a cluster of bars, shops, restaurants and hotels right near the Karon beach.

My recommendation is the Sea Breeze Inn. The staff was very courteous, the room was clean with air conditioning, they have a nighttime security guard and there was no joiner fee. It's about a 5 minute walk to the beach and there are food vendors who make good Som Tom, grilled chicken and assorted meats on a stick along the way.

Don't be fooled by the advertisement for Internet though. What they mean is that you can buy a dial up card from the local 7-11 and they will only charge you 1BT/10min for internet calls as opposed to the 3BT/min voice call.

I've stayed at the Karon Whale Resort and it's quite nice. I believe I paid around 1500 baht per night. I first booked another hotel with one of the travel agents but I didn't like it so I looked around the next day and this was the best value I found.

It has a pool and a restraunt next to the pool. I've stayed there two or three times.

There are some smaller hotels not far from this hotel that have nice rooms that are less money but they don't have a pool. They generally run 1000 baht high season and 500 baht low season.

I am building a house in Krabi and spend a lot of time there.

For private beaches, you can hire a longtail boat to take you on a time basis - I think 800 baht for a half day and 1500 for a full day. They will drop you off on one of the islands - Poda is good, but there are several others.

Take supplies for eating and drinking as most of the islands have no concessions.

Even if he drops you off in a busier part of an island of your liking, you can walk away from the crowds quickly and find some privacy. If you are leaving from Ao Nang, Poda is about 20-30 minutes offshore. It, and all most of the islands in the area have good snorkeling too.

Seeing as you have company already, you might want to consider staying in Klong Moang Beach, as it is much less developed than Ao Nang and you can get into the bars and restaurants in about 20 minutes.

For long tail boats, I paid 500 Bahts the last time to go to Paradise Beach from Patong Beach for half a day. I had the boat for me only.
I'm sure you can get it even cheaper if you speak a little thai.

That's a better option than risking your life on a motorbike.

is there any nice 4-5- star resorts or hotels or smaller places with nice rooms and apool with a guest friendly attitude? Tried Holiday inn before, great hotel (especially the busakorn wing), but not girl friendly policy.
Last year I stayed in Thara, they started charging for girls from November onwards. Did they go back for the low season?
At the end of Bangla, directly behind Tai.Pan they built a new hotel. Is it ready and friendly?

When you book a room, and as well when you check, in ask for a double room and tell that it be two persons are staying in the room. I usually book the room for two, if they ask where my partner/wife is when I check in I tell them that I have not found her yet, but she is coming tonight!
That way I usually never pay extra for "guests" at my room, even at hotels like Tara Patong, or other hotels that usually charge extra for that.

I will be back in Phuket by that time, if you want to go an grab a beer one night.

Phuket is easier to get in and out of then Ao Nang, Krabi province. I would actual like to find something closer to Bangkok, but not Pattaya. Good Hotels and Beaches.

Phuket is a hour by plane. I have no ideas, outside of Phuket. B18,000 was little more then I want to pay per day. I have found some great places in Phuket from B3500 to B8000 a day with SPA services.

Regarding the best place to stay in Phuket, I'd say it is without a doubt Avantika. Price is closer to the 8,000 baht price. Hotel is about 1 year old, run by a young guy who studied in the states. If you go, tell him Mike's friend sent you. You have to ask him on where to go for night life, he is a good guide too!

There is a web site but not sure if I can post it here so I'd suggest searching for Avantika Phuket on google to see if you can find it.

I can recommend the Holiday Inn, but the luxury wing only. It is called Busakorn and has great rooms, or even villas with own pool access. Nothing for mongering as the give you a lot of trouble if you bring a girl for the night, but great if you bring your own food!!!!

I might be new to posting here, but have been using the service for years. I live in Phuket half of the year and in Taiwan the other half. I don't know what type of services/standards you guys want in a hotel, but a lot of the prices you are talking about are extremely high. Especially since Phuket is now in their "low" season. Let me know what you're looking for and I can point you guys in the right direction. Any hotel in the range you guys are talking about will also charge you as much as $3000 per day to bing a friend back to your hotel (assuming you don't check in with her and keep her the whole time). Not worth it IMO. Phuket is great, enjoy it!

Like I said, now is the low season, so you should NEVER pay anything more than $1,500+BF on any chick unless she is a total super star(difficult to find in Phuket). Of course, there are a few places like Rock Hard where the girls will try to get $3,000+ out of you. It's a great place to go for food and drinks, but get your women elsewhere. All of them at RH hard core professionals only after money. The reality of phuket is that there are way too many bars and girls so it's a buyers market.

usually, the prices at the bars along Bangala and all of the side sois are $1000 all night,+ $500 for the BF. Never pay more or you will fuck it up for everyone. Low season, you can negotiate a lower rate with the women and with the bars. OR, just wait until the bars close and pick up the girls afterwards w/o paying the bar. 1am till late the next day should be about $800 during low season.

A word of warning, some of the best looking girls in Phuket are ladyboys.

Some other people were talking about Hua Hin. Been there several times, and I wouldn't recommend it. The beach sucks, except at the far southern section, the streets are too small and crowded, not much girl selection. People from BKK go here vs. Pattaya, but it's over developed into a place most people don't want to go anymore. If you just want a quiet get away, try Koh Samet or Koh Chang.

Someone asked about areas near or outside of Phuket. North of Phuket is Kao Lock National Park that is developing quickly. I think you need to bring your own girl with you, as when I was there last time there wasn't any available. Koh Phi Phi is beautiful, and only an hour boat ride away from Phuket. You might some girls there, or Western backpackers that are horny. I usually have to chase away the latter. Krabi, is OK, but you will have to take some day boat trips to all of the beautiful islands in the area, 100% muslim so not much in the ent. scene. I wouldn't go any further south of Krabi as it's 100%muslim and unstabel

Koh Samui is a great option, beautiful, still small, and an OK ent. scene. Direct flights from BKK, but you have to pay an airport tax that is rediculous.

I had a consistantly good time in a bar at the end of Soi Sea Dragon called "Amigos". Drop by if for no other reason than to check out the cashier. Blonde Thai girl with a killer bod ! The bad news: she doesn't barfine. I was told she only likes girls ! Damnit ! The cute, perky little cocktail waitress was also uninterested in BF, but maybe I just wasn't her type.

My newbie friend took the same girl outta there a couple times. Gorgeous face, a little thick for my taste, but I like em real small. He was very happy with her. Name was Toi.

I found nothing noteworthy in Phuket, but the diving was good. Oh, except a great buffet on Friday nights only. "Thai Friend Inn" about 100 meters up the road from the beach road (south side of the road across from a big massage place). On the first road north

Just spent 3 days in the Pattong lodge just outside of Patong beach, hotel is not girl friendly guests discouraged and if allowed, a 500bht joiner fee. It was no problem for me as I took my regular Pattaya girlfriend (her **** is so so small I can't leave her alone.) I booked the room in Pattaya paid 1250/nht rooms are going for about 600 a night if you turn up on doorstep as things are fairly quiet now.

To answer some questions:

Vitamin V is available at all pharmacies, no problems.

Never stay in a hotel that charges $ for guests, most don't.

So much stuff for a B. Party I don't know where to begin. I've done it too many times. It just depends on what you want, ie. show, striptease, prostitutes for everyone, etc. Do you want a private room or back at your hotel? Food, drinks, etc? I think Fredrick has a friend at one of the bars, but ALL of the bars would be more than willing to help you out (for $ of course) Here's some examples of what I've done in the past.

1) Talk to Larry or Joe at Rock Hard on the corner of Bangla. It's the largest, oldest, best go-go bar/restaurant in Patong. They used to have a special room upstairs that would be perfect for a party (may not today with renovations). BG's here are all pros, expensive, but will do nasty things for tips. Has food, good music, etc.

2) Any other go go club would be more than happy for a large group of guys to show up and party down with the girls. Best to talk with the owner first, and have any bar fine waved for your party guests, since you'll be dropping a lot of cash anyway. No food at these places, none to recommend over the others.

3) You can go to any of the open air bars, like Fredrick suggests, or simply go bar hopping picking up the women as you go. This can be fun to walk around and play with all of the ladies, but also very time consuming as women will be trying to pull you guys into every bar you walk by. There might only be a few good looking girls in each bar and therefore, a waste of some of your time.

4) (my personal favorite) is to spend a night or two going around to all of the bars and talking with the girls (or trying them out) and negotiate with them what you want them to do. For example, I've gotten girls to come and do some awesome nasty shows involving toys, lesbians acts, etc. etc. Negotiate your prices, including their bar fines and then have them come to your hotel or party room. (keep in mind that BF are usually 200-500 and that a BG charges $1000 for all night of sex or $500 for ST. I usually get the girls to come for $500 for the show plus what ever they can make doing LT or ST with the guys. I've also hired a few BJ girls who do their duty upon command all night. Usually I pay only $200-300 per BJ (discount price for volume!) Try to negotiate all of the prices up front with the girls, and then tell your friends so they don't over pay. Having the party at your hotel gives you a lot more freedom and fun, plus you can have all of the food and drinks prepared how you want, and save a lot of money. For example: 1 rum and coke at the bar = 120-150bt vs. 1 liter of rum from supermarket cost 120bt. I don't know you're budget, but the money you save on drinks and food can be VERY well spent on the girls.

Another thought, all of you should hit the vitamin V before the party so when you're drunk off your ass the girls can still ride you all night long.

One thing to consider is that a lot of the girls will be afraid to come to a party alone, so you should try to hire the girls in pairs, or more. Even better if you try them out first, so they will "know" you and trust you. Also, they will know other girls who will want to come to the party. (we all want to come to the party, he he). You can also get girls to come w/o paying the BF by arranging everything before hand. I know that Fredrick might disagree with me, but I've always found it better/cheaper to negotiate with the girls directly. However, if you negotiate with the owner of the bar, then you have more security in getting what you paid for. NEVER PAY ANYTHING IN ADVANCE!!!!!
One thing that I'm not sure if I missed or not, is when is your party? What month you come will make a huge difference in girl quality, price, etc. Now is the low season until about October/Nov. Everything should be a lot cheaper and easier to arrange.

Other people have PM me about hotels in Phuket. There are so many small local hotels that are cheap and clean with a/c. You can easily find them for $500+ per day. Never book your stay in Phuket with air and hotel together or you will pay twice as much. Most of the smaller hotels do not have web sites, and the ones that do will sometimes charge more over the net.

One source of information that might be helpful for some, and not for others would be the phuketgazzete.com It is the local newspaper's web site. They do have an advertisement there for a bar called "Katoy's R US" inside the Tiger entertainment complex (this complex is not really recommended because it's only been around for less than 2 years and most of the bars are still empty) Anyway, they have a lot of pictures of their girls and their lady boys (KATOY) for anyone who is interested. I've said it before, and I will say it again. Be careful in Phuket with the BG's because some of the best looking BGs are really lady boys. No judgment either way from Adjarn. I'm sure some of the ones that have cut their dicks off and have been taking hormones for years could probably show you a really good time. You really don't have to worry about making a mistake, usually the lady boys are located on Soi Katoy (where you will see them dancing) or in the Tiger complex. There's also an entire gay section of the scene located at the base of the tallest hotel in Patong.

I know, this forum is about women, but I just thought I'd let everyone know so they aren't wasting their time in the wrong places.

Run To Daylight: A Stroll Down Soi Gonzo

Walking down Soi Bangla last night, I look up and see a sign that says: "Soi Gonzo". Soi Gonzo? Well, I happen to be a big fan of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, the only man ever to have rode with both the Hell's Angels and Richard M. Nixon. I thoroughly enjoyed his "Fear and Loathing..." books, and share his passion for American football and Wild Turkey Kentucky Bourbon. This is certainly worth checking out.

I stand at the top, and survey the playing field. A row of bars line each side, must be stacked twenty deep. Little boxes, and they all look just the same. And they're all made of ticky-tacky, and they all look just the same. Reminds me of the new luxury boxes at Lambeau.

I proceed along the right side, since 80% of the plays are designed to go that way. The gridiron echoes with calls of "Hellooooooooooooo....Welcoooooooooooooome..........Where you goooooooooo?" How I love the sounds of battle. Each bar seems to have at least 10-12 girls, but only one or two customers, if that. The resistance is quite formidable.

There seem to be three distinct types of position players on the defense. Sideliners sit quietly, some watching TV, others looking bored and wanting no part of the action. The sideliners have already surrendered and offer little impedance in my quest.

The second type of defender are the linebackers, who will stand right in front of you, just daring you to run them over. Linebackers exhibit extraordinary lateral movement. Move right or left, they will quickly compensate. However, I've developed a very effective technique for linebackers: A small step to the right, just to get them leaning that way, then a quick pivot and 360 degree spin move to the left. Works every time. Fakes those linebackers right out of their.......jocks?

The third, and most difficult type of defender, are the arm tacklers. If you're well hung, you can try to stiff arm them. Otherwise, if two arm tacklers form a tandem, you could be caught in the dreaded "Tug-of-War" which threatens to split you at the seams. Sometimes the arm tacklers will probe below the waist for a fumble, ensuring the balls are secure.

I've made the rounds and can see Soi Bangla again, the light at the end of the tunnel. But, what's this? The troops are amassing for a final goal line stand. I lower my shoulder, bend my legs slightly for better balance, and plunge into the line of scrimmage. Defenders wrap themselves around me, but I shake them off with superior upper body strength. Fortunately, no one has taught these girls to GO FOR THE KNEES! I'm there: Touchdown!!! I'm very fortunate for learning American football, those soccer players will be there all night.

After the game, I went out and got laid.

I got here a couple days ago after a week in Koh Samui. I'm staying at Baan Patong Guesthouse - paying 400 baht a night. The place has got AC, minibar, private bath and is only one street block north of Bangla road. The best thing is the management are very low key about bringing guests in for the night. Chanathip Guesthouse is across the street from BPG and offers similar accomodations/prices.

The beer bars are loaded with girls sitting on their buts all night. Many good lookers available for decent prices. I think Phuket is alot better than Koh Samui in regards to mongering. More selection bigger scene and better beach than Chaweng Beach in Koh Samui. Pattaya is still the king though.

I went to see a sex show at a gogo on Soi Seadragon. Paid 200baht for a heineken and watched a dancer finagle a raw egg out of her coochie and into a glass. Then she popped out 2 ping pong balls.. Kinda boring if you ask me.

I activated a One-2-call sim card and when I ask for the balance check it says that the expiry date is no more than three months from now, meaning that if I do not recharge it before September I will have to activate a new number. Isn’t that a bit harsh?

I suppose it’s not designed for mongering or tourism purposes, a person who can get to and from Thailand every three months is not a common tourist anymore, is he? Or he is indeed a lucky tourist.

Is there a more reasonable way to get a Thai number and (possibly) keep it a bit longer? What do you use? It gets very useful when it comes to staying in touch with ladies you have done business with and you might want to see again.

i.e.: the last day I was in Phuket the only plane I found to BKK for the day after to catch my coincidence was at 7am, so I had to leave the hotel at 5am, instead of “panicking” I just called two sisters I had fucked some days before who were glad to have a short time amazing threesome.

I am not 100% sure but i think all you have to do is register the girl at the front desk. This is part of the security measures to protect people in the hotel. The last thing the hotel needs are hookers wandering the halls looking for customers.

All the girl does is give them her ID card and signs a sheet when she arrives and picks it up when they leave.

A few years ago, when I checked in at the hotel at 2am with my wife (darn it!) a western guy was brining in a girl and the front desk had metal box they put her ID card into. There were a bunch of other ID cards in the box. In the room there was a memo from the hotel management saying to register all "joiners" at the front desk. This was the Ipanema Cabana Hotel on Patong Beach.

There is plenty of hotels that won't like any nightly visitors. There is some ways to do a work around.

Those hotels that are GF friendly will charge you a minor amount as fee, they log the girl and gets her ID. That is for YOUR security! Never go up without register the lady. If anything happens and you get ripped off, better to know the thief then not!

Just bring the girl to the hotel and let the guard take down her info and then everything is free. When I stayed at Sea Sand Sun the fee was 150 baht. At Duangjitt they wanted 1500 baht for letting a non-guest "use the pool".

Just remember, the classier the hotel, the more negative they feel about guests having visitors!

But you can always book a double room and say that your missus will arrive later. Then the hotel has no case if you get a GF to your room. Just say she is the one you waited for.

I stayed at Blue Ocean Resort in June and had no problem with guests. Their policy is 300B joiner fee but the lady told me to claim 2 guests on the register to avoid the fee.

Not a 4 star hotel but a nice, clean place for 800B-1000B in low season.

Not the case I am afraid to say, when you register they will want the name of your "missus", if the girl you try to take to the room is asked for ID they will be able to see the name is different. The only way around this problem is to choose a girl friendly hotel, I am afraid I don't know any in Phuket, only Bangkok.

The monsoon just messes up the visability. It's reasonably safe to snorkel all year. Most dive boats will take you out if they're going someplace "snorkel friendly". Not much good shore diving. Kata and Kata Noi have some interesting rock formations but nothing like a coral reef.

Stayed at Thara Patong (www.tharapatong.com)on my last trip there. No problem with the girls. Talk to Somporng ( the "LB" manager) first and make sure he knows it's double occupancy. Book the room next to the pool. It's awesome. You just walk out of the back patio of the room and into the pool. It's a little more expensive ( I paid 2,900 bahts for 3 nights and gets the 4th night free) than the regular rooms but it's worth it. Walk right out to Beach Rd and about a nice 10 minute walk to soi Bangla. Nice place will go back again.

I am headed (pun intended?) to Phuket October 1 for a few days. If any of you forum members are going to be in the area, let me know if you'd like to meet up. This will be my first ever visit to Thailand. I have not scanned through all the past reports on Phuket, but if anyone has a favorite night spot or two, I'd be much obliged.

My goal each night will be to find one girl (and maybe two) who will like me enough and feel safe enough to go back to the hotel with me. I'm staying at a hotel that most likely is on the high end, but thanks to my points, it won't cost me anything. However, most reports seem to suggest that hotels can be sticks in the mud when it comes to having a girl come over (let alone TWO girls). I'm going to have to make sure when I check in that the hotel staff understands and accepts the fact that I am going to be spending some time with my girlfriend. (I don't think they'll be paying such close attention that they'll notice it's a DIFFERENT girlfriend every night! But I could be wrong.)

You’re going to have great time in Phuket. Since you already have done some research you probably know that Patong Beach is the center of the P4P action in Phuket. In particular Bangla Road and the many soi's (Soi Eric, Soi Easy, Soi Gonzo, Soi Sea Dragon, etc) that run off of it. However, my favorite is the Tai Pan Disco near the intersection of Bangla Road and Rat-U-Thit. Try it round about midnight. It can get loud in there but there are plenty of freelancers and a great atmosphere as well. Also, try the Tiger Disco (upstairs) on Bangla Road. I've had good luck in there as well.

And if the rainy season is over by early October you'll have an even better time. You might also consider renting a motorbike and taking a trip around the island and its many beaches. Find some honey to act as your “guide”. If you do, take care, there are many accidents involving motorbikes. Thai’s and many farangs have their own ideas about driving. You might also want to take a day trip to one of the nearby islands (i.e. James Bond Island). Good luck. I’ll be going back there in November.

You have a lot to learn about Thailand my friend. First of all you will have no problem finding a girl to take back to your hotel, the hard part will be deciding which one. I was in Phuket for 4 days this June and had no trouble finding a real cutie for 1000 baht LT (long time---all night).
With regard to the hotel allowing guests, I have never known a hotel to stop you taking a girl to your room but most will charge you what they call a joiner fee----maybe 500 baht, this is a scam but there is not much you can do about it. It is no good telling the reception that she is your girlfriend because you would have to register her details when you book in, they have heard it all before, it is unlikely you will be able to smuggle the girl in as most hotels have 24 hour security.
The busiest area in Phuket is probably Bangla Road, Patong, watch out for the ladyboys though !!

Patong seems to be going down hill. The whole place has become a tourist trap. It's hard to find locally priced services (food, laundry, shopping, etc). Even at night nothing gets cracking at the bars until 9pm or 10pm. The girls don't seems real happy about doing anything other than making you drink. Drinking is cool but man can not live by drinks alone. I'm here for the nookie. The place is dressed up nice but it's not as fun as it use to be.

The prices in Bangkok have gotten out of hand. Damn tourist inflated the prices now BK is all fucked up. Some places selling 125 baht beers. Hell even paid 95 baht for a fucking coke. Bar fines and asking fees are ridiculous. It's sad. Pattaya is the last safe haven unless someone knows some other good spots in the country.

Harry's is close to everything, It may not be girl friendly, but after 11 pm the back door by the restaurant is the only way in. I have never been confornted(including the next morning) or charged for a guest and I have never seen a staff member after that time. I have stayed there 3 times.

The hot water is hard to find, and the decor will remind you of Sponge Bob or the Flintstones but for the price and location cannot be beat.

I don’t quite understand those posts complaining about the lack of bar scene, if you are looking for mere bar scene, then you are in the wrong thread; just go to Pattaya or Bangkok.
Phuket is not comparable to Pattaya, full stop.

But on the other hand, it has a few clubs with a unique atmosphere and vibe which you will struggle to find in any other place. Prices do not look to me as expensive as someone said either; so, enjoy the whole package, because Phuket definitely got it.

Phuket Airport to Patong Beach

When you arrive at the Phuket Airport, there's a couple of options to get to Patong Beach:

Taxi

After you pick up your luggage, there's a counter where you can book a taxi to Patong Beach for 500 Baht.

I've heard, but never tried this, that you can go outside, and across the parking lot, there are some other taxis where you can get a better rate, but I haven't tried this.

Mini-Bus - 150 Baht

At the same counter mentioned above, you can purchase a mini-bus ticket for 150 Baht. They'll immediately try to sell you a taxi, but insist you want the mini-bus for 150 Baht.

The Mini Bus, along with other passengers, will take you directly to your hotel.

The Mini-Bus Catch:

On the way to Patong Beach, the Mini-Bus will stop at a travel agency. They'll ask everyone to get out of the bus and step inside.

At this point, they'll ask you if you've booked a hotel, ask where you're staying, and will waste a significant amount of time as they sell rooms to the other passengers attempting to earn a commission.

I've complained about this my first couple of trips, but it appears there's a partnership between the mini-bus and the travel agency.

It gets quite annoying at times. Even though I tell them I have a reservation, they want to know where, what I'm paying, and want to get me a "better deal" somewhere else. They falsely tell the other passengers that "booking here will be cheaper".

There's no way around this. The only way is to discretely tell other passengers, the sooner you said "No Thank You", the sooner we'll get out of here. They've made it harder now that they make everyone get out of the mini-bus, explaining you might have to change vans.

Anyway, if you don't mind this delay, the Mini-Bus is the way to go.

If you don't want to deal with this nonsense, pay a little more for a private taxi.

The tour guide trap from the airport to Patong is par for the course. I have been 5 times and i NEVER get out of the car. I let the driver know that iif we stop it will effect his tip. They always say, "i must get ticket stamped." I tell him he has one minute, then off we go.

As previously stated, the travel agency stop is standard operating procedure for the mini-van. On my last trip to Phuket the TA hit the jackpot with the mini-van I was in. Four backpacking German girls (all very attractive) not only got their rooms from the TA but they also purchased a couple of day tours to nearby islands. Two other people in the mini-van also got their rooms from the TA. Needles to say, we spent well over an hour at this TA. The 150 baht price is great but next time I think I will try gwailo's advice.

I live in Kata Beach and use a local taxi driver to get to and from the airport, he does good deals and was born on Phuket and speaks English well. Skip the minivans it can take hours to get to the Southern end of the island. If you want the driver's number PM me. Just call him before you leave BKK and he will meet you. It is 45 from Kata up to the airport so he needs a heads up to get there in time for you.

Has anyone had experience at the Amari Coral Beach Resort in Patong? How about the Baan Karonburi Resort in Karon Beach. I've been to Phuket several times, but stayed at mostly lower level places--I'd like a nice place this time. I did stay at Diamond Cliffs once--it was very nice, but absolutely not girl friendly.

Patong Rocks,

I think that Patong is far better than BKK of Pattaya. Cleaner, fresh air, nice beach and 5000 Darlings ready to make you happy.

There are a few things like S & M clubs, a big range of soapies,
and more upscale resturants that BKK and Pattaya have but I would say those are more than replaced with Patong. The entire island of Phuket is much better.

If you are looking info or are headed there for the first time or going back looking for somethings they missed last time put it up or pm me. I'm sort of a part time resident as I'm there every ther month with a few days in BKK on endf each trip.
BTW! There are a number of boards out there on Phuket/Patong specifically but most are run by people who use them to promote their business and one board is run by some jerk off moron who gives out bad info. The cast of crooks include a bar owner, vacation rental owner, Soi owner ( strip of beer bars) and the usual advertorial type catchments.

I will tell you know that I often don't follow my own advice but I have my niches and my places I like to go so I may not recommend my haunts or likes.

I find the girls are less crass. Yes, Pattaya appear to have more stunners and go go's but I would say the ration for Darling to Dog is about the same.

Is it more expensive, can be but that has an up side IMHO. You don't see alot of low end trash travelers bringing down the economy and they say that is due to the cost of air travel etc.

Just got back from my 1st tour of duty. What an experience! The only disappointing thing is I met my dream girl my last two days there. If I had met her earlier, I would've stayed with her the whole time. I mean this girl was my absolute dream girl, model quality, sweet, happy, fun...a total joy to be with. The kind of girl that makes you feel happier even if you weren't sad to begin with. Yes, she was THAT awesome. I wish I could bring her here to the US, but that would be expensive, time consuming, and risky. While I had the best time ever, it was only two days. I still know little of her history and if her story is true or not.

She did ask the usual, "send me money and I won't do this [working girl job]." Hmm, sure I thought. Only until the next customer comes along and sweeps her off her feet. Really, though, she was not the usual common working girl. She was really sweet and considerate. She really doesn't belong in this business. I could see her working with kids or as a nurse, not as a freelancer.

Oh well, life goes on and so must I. She was only a short term fantasy come true. Now that I've lived my fantasy, I must go on. No more mongering or Thailand from here on. If this continues I'll never get married and won't be able to concentrate on the important, realistic matters of life. A buddy and I are interested in going diving. We want to find out if we can charter a nice boat, 60 -70 feet or so, probably out of Ranong, and go up to the Burma banks. We are looking for 2 other mongers interested in same. (scuba divers please). The plan would be to grab 6 to 8 girls for the trip, and divide our time between scuba diving, and muff diving. In order to go anywhere in the Mergui Archepelago (aka, the Burma Banks) you will have to have an agent of the Burmese police on board your boat at all times. These guys report to the Burmese govt. directly and tend to take their jobs seriously. They can be a bit of a downer on an otherwise nice trip. Also you have to pay for them; about 2,000 baht per day. Each person on the boat has to pay 4,500 baht plus a one-time $100 visa and there's a boat fee which is quite steep. You have to go to Yangon to file the paper-work and pay the fees for the boat including filing your proposed course. Each crew member has to be paid for at about $20 each for a visa and 20 copies of all the paper-work involved, including crew and passenger lists has to be completed and sent to Yangon for approval. Just imagine trying to get a list with the names of a load of Thai women approved by the Burmese. And, they have to be naked? You'd be busted and end up in a Burmese jail before you knew what happened.

The main things is that there are only a limited number of liveaboard companies that are even allowed there in the first place. They're all foreign owned and run. They tend to be family businesses (such as Southeast Asia Liveaboards and FarawaySail and Dive Expeditions) and I doubt if they would ever consider such a thing. Not just anyone with a sailboat can go up there whenever they feel like it. The Burmese periodically stop unauthorized boats. When I was sailing up there, we constantly saw police patrol boats, especially between Kawtung (Victoria Point Harbour) and King Island.

So, I just don't think you could pull it off. Although there is a general tendency to believe, among many that you can buy your way into just about anything in the part of the world, I doubt if you could in this instance.

Ok. So having said all that, an alternative to consider is going the other way. There are some freelance sailboats that sail between Phuket and Penang and go out to the Similan Islands. For example, there's a French guy ( I don't remember his name) based in Penang, Malaysia who has a 47 ft. sloop that he offers out at around $100 per person per day. I know there are others, as well, as I've seen posters advertising custom excursions in both Phuket and Penang.

Fun idea, though.

OTH, you have a point. on the other hand, i was on a boat 3 years ago in Mergui. We crossed from Ranong into Kwatong, (immigration is a tiny little island in the middle of the water), we got our passports stamped there, anf we were off. I forget the name of the dive operation, but the boat was the Amadeus, and the owner was Austrian. There were no cops or army on board, and I think he would be game for it.

Maybe things have changed. Hell, I don't care, we can hang around Richelieu for a week.

Just to give an update/correction about getting from the airport to your hotel. I noticed others posting about taking the limo taxi. It's 550b to Patong and the driver may still stop at a travel agency. I made the mistake of saying I had only been to Phuket a couple times and sure enough he mumbled something about stopping to get something. Next thing I know, we are at a travel agency.

Using the info from this board, I told the travel agent to just get the driver ASAP so it didn't take too much of my time. I was actually looking for some baht to tip the driver and then he pulls this stunt. Needless to say, there was no tip.

I have to say the taxi limo is a very nice way and fast way to travel, though. A bit expensive for Thailand though and it's a bit confusing finding a driver right when you leave the airport. I'd recommend just telling the driver that you know about the scam and recommend that he doesn't stop.

Oh another thing. Somewhere (I thought it was on this board) it was stated that you could just go to any pharmacy for viagra/kamagra. I personally use levitra (real prescription stuff from the good ole USA and expensive as hell) as an occasional pick me up but I wanted to Bust this Myth. Sure enough I checked out 3 pharmacies on the main strip and none of them said they had it. Pretty strange for a pharmacy (at least in the USA) not to have viagra so my guess is that they just didn't want to sell it to me or they had run out due to all the action on the strip , hehe. My guess is that you need a prescription or you need to know who to talk to. Other stuff like fake DVDs are not hidden from public view but pharmaceuticals are probably a different story.

We've had the " stop to sign paper" travel crapola pulled twice.

Driver tells says he has to stop to "sign in", parks at travel agency in small complex on the way. A lady comes out and asks where you go, where you stay, have better place for you, cheeper, yada yada.

The first time (about 3 years ago) we had reservations at Neptuna, and told her so. She said "can get better price, room at delux hotel" I said, "what if we don't like it"? She said (* after a few more trys/conters) "first nigit free, if not like can change."

We took it, it was ok, but pool was not so good, no shade, long walk from room, and could not access outside line for internet access from the room.

We checked out (took 2 hours of waiting, finally we started to walk to the street with our stuff saying I would tell my friends not to stay here because of bad service, being scammed by travel agent and so on. they got us a car to the Neptuna soon after.

I bet (hope) the agent and cab driver got some feedback on this.

Second time (last June) same scam, lady came out, (maybe same lady) after a few words (I never got out of the car) I think she either recognized me or figured out she was wasting both our times, and we were on our way.

Needless to say, the driver did not get a tip either times.

Also, we stayed at Neptuna, used to be our favorite place, but it has chaged owners. Now not so good. We got a room with bad air cond, and they said now they have charge to access outside phone line.

(we hiked our bags over to the Sand Inn the next day.)

Nice rooms, good air cond, free outside phone line access. (and nice food)

Planning on being there (Patong and Sand Inn) mid-Oct. (just in time for rainy season I know).

Arrived in Phuket Friday afternoon from Singapore, but too tired to go out Friday night (see Singapore posts and you'll know why).

Saturday night about 8 PM, a befriended taxi driver and I arrived at The Pink Lady, a bar/club where girls are on display for choosing, almost fish-bowl style. 8 PM is opening time and I was advised to get there early for best selection and to start my night's adventure sooner than later.

Upstairs my driver (a Thai national) and I sat on a couch and I spoke with the mamasan about what I was interested in. She spoke fairly clear English and seemed to understand what I was trying to describe. Also the driver helped whenever he thought clarification was needed. Somehow, with all of that going for me, my primary request was altogether missed: I not only wanted two girls for the night, but specifically two girls who would fully interact with each other (girl-on-girl action with me as a participant). So as best I could describe this and as many times as I asked questions like, "Will the girls do everything together, with each other as well as with me? Kissing, oral sex, etc.?", I kept getting reassurances, "Yes, they will - anything you want." (Where have I heard this before??)

My driver and I moved from the couch to the bar so that now the two rows of girls seated behind the bar are only a few feet away. They're all wearing gowns and in a seated position, it's just hard to tell with precision what kind of bodies are represented. There were all sizes and shapes and most were between 18 and 30, I'd say. All had spent a good deal of time applying make-up and doing their hair, so I knew only the morning-after would reveal true appearances. A few were making eye contact and smiling and using invitational body language. Others were very stoic. Still others were looking down or altogether in some other direction. The mamasan asked for a show of hands: who speaks "a little" English? Although the two I settled on had raised their hands, it truly was "a little". Probably 50 words. But that's about 40 more than I know of their language, so I mention this only for you readers' information (in other words, I'm not reporting it as a complaint or a criticism of the girls).

The one I chose was among the "top 5" cute or attractive ones. The best girls there were low 7's, or maybe high 6's (6.7-6.9). Her eye contact and mannerisms toward me were what helped seal the deal. I left it up to Teo (tay-oh) to choose a friend. She had a clear choice, a girl whose name is pronounced Pom (as in palm but without the "l" sound). As we all sat in the couch area, trying to have discussion between me, the girls, the driver and the mamasan, I kept trying to reinforce my expectations of a true 3-way, and the girls nodded with a no-problem sort of response to the questions interpreted in Thai.

The price quoted for 2 girls, all night was 9000 Baht (about $225 USD), although I had been told to expect 7000 Baht for 2 girls all night, and that Asians get a discount of around 5000 Baht for 2 girls all night. So I hesitated at the 9000 Baht, and after short discussion, the mamasan went to ask the manager (whom I'd met earlier). She came back and said 8000, and I looked at the driver for a nod, then I said OK. It's possible that my initial expectations were based on older information, and the prices could have gone up. I don't know. But 8000 seemed reasonable relative to this monger's experiences, and I even was able to charge it (and all our drinks) on Visa. The girls changed into their regular clothes and we left.

The girls already had started warming up to me quite nicely, but not in a wild sort of way. They were affectionate, though. We all went to have a nice seafood dinner (about 1000 Baht for four of us), then headed to my hotel. This was around 11:00 PM.

Inside the room, the girls seemed to relax even a little more, and I started them off on a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream, which they finished and were feeling. When their clothes came off, getting ready for a shower, the revelations began. Here are the stats on Teo: 22 years old, about 5'0", probably 90 pounds, nice round ass, light smoker, 1 child, breasts slightly saggy (but not bad), abdomen slightly stretched. Pom: 24 years old, about 5'4", probably 115 pounds, nice hair and rounded face, but body was very average - nothing great, nothing bad; no kids and non-smoker.

Teo and I got into the full tub together and she washed us both, exploring each other's bodies and trading some DFK. Pom took a shower separately, and by the time she came out, Teo and I were on the bed in some serious foreplay. Neither girl was shaved, which disappointed me quite a bit, but what could I do? I gave them money for the driver and, although in my mind the experience did not warrant any extra tip whatsoever, I also was aware that I had a lot of Thai Baht I needed to spend before tomorrow, plus I do know (and care) that these girls did not receive much of the huge bar fine. So tipping in this case was more humanitarian than anything else. If I had gotten my "dream" night with two girls, they would have been WAY MORE rewarded. That's going to have to be another day, though.

I probably won't go out tonight, but don't be "too" surprised if you see just one more Phuket post! :-)

Let me say this up front, before I start. I was very compelled by the girl you are going to read about in this post. I am going to try my best to give you, the reader, as objective a report as I can. But do keep in mind the high chemistry factor, which could unintentionally distort some of my descriptions. Having said that, I know that some (if not many) of you are also in pursuit of chemistry, preferring it over any other single attribute. If you're a "breast guy" and a girl has perfect ones, that's important to your experience, but I'd wager not nearly as important if the perfectly-constructed chest is attached to a mechanical timeclock or business-only attitude.

My taxi driver had told me that "the girls at the bars are not clean" and discouraged me from shopping there. My Phuket contact said that the local Thai nationals are prone to feel that way about bar girls. So I told the driver I really just wanted to experience the bar scene once while I'm here, and he was fine with taking me wherever I wanted to go.

Taking advice from my Forum friend, I first visited the Kata Center bar area and another small cluster of bars (4-5) just a short distance from Kata City Centre. The bars were essentially dormant at 7:30 PM, so I drew all the attention from whatever girls were at each one. On my scale, the overall girl average was maybe mid-5's. At the first bar, Farang Bar, my driver and I had some Gatorade and just sat talking on the bar stools. (Before embarking I had 3 vodka-tonics in my hotel room.) We left and walked the 100 feet or so in order to pass inspection on the other 3 bars. I did chat only briefly with an 18-year-old from "Isan" (sp? pronounced ee-sahn) who was a 7 and do-able...very dark-complexioned and had a nice smile & body. She also spoke reasonably good English, and I was tempted, but I passed (too early to commit). She was even nice enough (or entrepreneurial enough) to walk me across the busy street to my waiting taxi, expressing hope that I'd be back to get her later. And I did think about it.

Next we went through Karon (on our way to Patong Beach). We almost passed right through except for one stunner that caught my eye at a bar directly across from the "Up Seafood Restaurant". So my driver stopped and waited as I ventured into the bar. I was the only customer and there were about 15 girls there, ranging from 2's to the stunner (a solid 8). Upon entering, another girl (about a 6.5...maybe a 7 by some standards) escorted me to a table and kind of dominated me there. I kept trying to figure out "the game" so I could meet the 8. The 8 did walk around the bar area several times, performing a few menial tasks, but never once made eye contact. Her demeanor also indicated attitude with a capital A. She's probably about 18 years old. The girl I was talking to said that for 100 Baht she could arrange for the other girl to come sit with me. I figured she was joking and played along and finally I realized, she's NOT joking! I didn't pay, of course, and finally just left. The 8 never even looked my way. I'm not George Clooney, but I'm not that bad, either! Maybe that girl only does Asian customers. Who knows? Or, maybe it's just the universal Attitude problem that attractive girls have in abundance. My buddies and I have a phrase, "chootsy girls" - girls who are cute (and know it) and are extra-choosy; "cutesy" + "choosy" girl = chutesy girl.

Next stop, Patong area. Overall had a good time there. Go there some time even if just to have some cheap drinks and girl-watch. My driver and I found a parking space (this is low season), then wound up at a very small bar right on Soi Bang La and Soi Easy, a place called Chili's Bar (not the restaurant chain). Most all the bars are small, but this one was right on the sidewalk and could seat maybe 10 people max. Unlike a vast majority of bars, Chili's does not have any bar girls for take-out service. But we were the first ones there and we instantly liked the approach of the bartender and her older (40-something?) manager, both well developed up top, so we stayed. From about 9-10 PM, we sat and enjoyed the scenery and I chatted up the bartender (she said she owned the bar). I would have taken her (a non-pro, far as I could tell) in a heartbeat, but she declined my advances. I saw another stunning girl, a solid 8-8.5, sitting on a motorbike in front of Chili's, yacking on her cell phone, and despite my efforts, she just totally ignored me. The bartender knew her and assured me she was a woman (not lady-boy). I told my driver that I was just going to wander around all the bars to see what there is to see. Came across that same girl just minutes later in a bar across the street, brushed by her and lightly patted the side of her rear-end as I walked by, hoping she'd take the hint and start a conversation with me. But she barely glanced, caught my eye (and my inviting smile), then with zero facial expression, promptly returned to a conversation she was having with some other girl and some real bozo of a guy standing there. (Sorry...might have been one of you readers!) 2 minutes later I saw an old geezer (another one of you?!) walking out of a bar with a solid 9, and I started getting a little pissed off -- how come guys who are much older and much less fit/attractive are scoring with these hot babes, and I can't even get a smile out of them?? And I know it's not the money - there aren't many guys who can outbid me in that department. So, off I went.

Up and down the main drag, Soi Bang La, there are side-streets like Soi Eric and Soi Cowboy. Along those streets are dozens and dozens of small bars and a couple of large ones (like Tiger Disco). I wandered briefly into the large bars but they were dark, very loud and felt more sterile, not to mention having an abundance of girls - the few 7's and 8's curtly ignored me just as did their chootsy predecessors, while the 3's - 6's urged me to sit down. The same was true as I walked exploring every small bar in every area - girls were beckoning me to come in and sit down, but I thought, "Not enough time for that," and kept walking. I did pause in the "69" bar and talked with one girl that I practically made an arrangement with, but told her I had to go find my driver (well, I did).

I started walking back to Chili's bar, resigned to call it a night because obviously I wasn't old enough and ugly enough to get a real hottie. The hottest of any people I saw were katoey (lady-boys) who seem to cluster in a certain bar or two near the center of Soi Bang La. I'm telling you, they were 9's and they were giving me eye contact and invitational gestures. Figures. Just as I hurried past Malibu bar and line of sight, in the corner of my eye, I spotted a vision bending over to reach for a bite of food off her friend's plate, and I think she saw me glancing at her, and in that briefest of moments, there was a sparkle. I walked another foot or two and did a 180. The moment I re-appeared around the corner of the wall, I caught her in the middle of a bite, and she embarrassingly covered her mouth and suppressed a laugh, those eyes gleaming.

Think Roselyn Sanchez (the latin actress), only shorter and without the benefit of make-up artists and unlimited money to spend on looking good. This girl, "Pom", did not even look Thai - she had mixed-DNA features, although she told me both her parents are Thai. She offered me some food (to which her friend jokingly objected because it wasn't Pom's food to begin with). The chemistry was immediately there. Eye contact, joking around within the first 20 seconds, an offer to share food. I somehow felt that I should be thankful for this renewal and quit while I was ahead, so I told her I had to go find my driver. She said, "No, come sit down. Please, please!" She rushed around the counter and out to the sidewalk, grabbing my hand and leading me inside, while her friend gave me a big smile, a slight nod and a wink that said, "Pom really likes you!" I thought, what's a few more minutes. This girl bewitched me. She was wearing white jeans and a white tank-style T-shirt that showed off a few inches of her superbly brown skin above her pants. I thought she was Brazilian or Colombian. I did notice a sizable tattoo on her lower back and another on her triceps area, but also noticed the top of her thong rising above her pant-line. Her disposition and manners were NOT those of a biker chick or what I normally think of when I see large tattoos. She had one piercing, just a tiny piece of jewelry in the mid part of the right side of her nose. You wouldn't even notice it unless you were up close.

Pom's English is pretty good - we occassionally had to struggle with understanding each other. I felt a definite chemistry and I loved her body, her skin, her energy and those eyes, that smile! I paid for the drinks and the 200 Baht bar fine, and agreed to give her 2000 for all night (I'm sure I could have counter-offered 1500). Part of me felt like I was getting the last word on those previous stunners/shunners, while Pom got the jackpot (me) and those girls got whatever they got (and deserved). The other part of me thought, $50 USD to spend all night with this girl who starts my engine and keeps it running just by sitting next to me? Done deal! Plus, I know she needs the money (2-year-old).

By now it's raining pretty hard, and the Malibu bartender gave me her umbrella to go find my driver. I settled the Chili's bar tab, and by then the cute bartender had been imbibing and was warming up to me. I told her that I had been to every bar and had seen every girl there is to see, but that she would still be my first choice (and this is true). She accused me of sweet-talk, then gave me 2 free Bacardi Breezers and a hug anyway. As we were walking away and about 10 feet down the sidewalk, she ran out and gave me her address. OK, I'm feeling a little better now about my last night in Phuket! :-)

We collect Pom and head to the taxi, then the 40-minute ride to arrive at the hotel by 11:45 or so. We walk inside my villa, Pom closes the door and we just stand there in the dark locked in an embrace, slightly swaying, her head on my chest, for many long minutes (not even sure). We went out onto the balcony overlooking Kata Bay until it started drizzling again. I was already happy and no sex has even occurred (yet).

She showered and I got her situated with a bag of toiletries and other small personal gift items, lit some candles (about 30, actually), and by the time I got out of the shower, she had found a movie on TV that we both got into. So we watched the movie, I gave her a massage (I'm certified) and gave her some oral sex from the rear/underneath. There are actually 4 Pink Lady's in Phuket Town. They are all close to each other. The two big ones are on Phang Nga Road, if you start at the Royal Phuket City Hotel the Pink Lady 2002 is about 50 meters from the front door on the same side of the street. The second is about 200 meters further down past the stoplight and on the other side of the street. The 3 rd is the Pink Lady Chamois which is in the basement of the Metropole Hotel and the 4 th one is a little further away and is the Pink Lady Karoke. The first two are basically the same, large rooms with bar and about 20-35 ladies dressed in evening gowns. Price for farang 4,000 baht all night each and for Asians 3,000 baht. Pink Lady Chamois is a little different. There is a band and you can none of the girls behind the bar is allowed to go with you. The take outs are the ladies sitting on the couches across from the bar. The 4 th is much smaller and you walk in and go upstairs to the second floor and again there are 20-30 ladies in evening gowns. Here you can go to karoke rooms if you want or just take out. Most of the ladies will not have been with a farang. Phuket Town is mostly tour groups from Japan, Korea and Taiwan so they see those customers. The farang mostly stay in the beach towns.

I made a recent trip to Patong. Here's the full report.

Airport:

I went straight to the cash machine and withdrew 20kb. I bought a 550b limo cab ticket at the airport. I waved the ticket near the mass of people outside the airport and someone put me into a very nice Toyota. It didn't look like a cab but it was very nice. Took about 1hr to Patong in the driving rain. Driver stopped off at a travel agency to try to get me to rebook my hotel. I quickly told the woman to get the driver and we were off within 5 minutes. (This is a common ploy but it's taken to extremes in Phuket, especially when taking a cab in Phukettown 'cause the driver takes you to just about every souvenir shop he knows of, probably for a commish, whether you want to or not. It's quite annoying but the cab ride is very cheap, 20-40b.) I did not encounter this years ago in Phuket. Anyways I suggest booking the taxi through your hotel for the same price to avoid the mass of confusion outside the airport and the inevitable stop at the TA.

Blue Ocean Resort:

From phuket.com, I booked the 1000b/night room as per a review in this forum and said 2 guests. It was fast and easy. When I arrived, I noticed the 300b fee for "friends". I tried to squirm out of the fee using the "... but I booked 2 guests" but when I checked out, there was the additional charge for my friends. At least for me, I see no way out of this. To me the fee isn't too unreasonable considering the security at night seemed to be pretty good. The girl must check in her ID card. I guess you could avoid the fee if you got it on real early in the day before security arrives but what fun would that be? BOR is an OK hotel, clean and maybe 2-3stars. Hard to beat the price with such a large room to myself and great location. There is a 2000b deposit for the inroom safe.

Patong Beach:

Ahhh even in rainy season the beach is great, only a 5 min walk. Plenty of food around and plenty of shopping. Zillions of travel agencies to book tours and internet access galore. Laundry only 10-40b per item. I highly recommend the packaged tours if you've never done them before. It was a bit awkward with 3 people (2 friends + me) on the tour, though. Couples work out best. Mostly Japanese and Euro tourists at the beach.

PhuketTown:

It's something like 20b to Phukettown on the bus or maybe 300b by tuk-tuk. You can flag the bus anywhere along the beach road or go to the S end at the bus stop. From town, just pickup the bus at the road with all the buses. If you jump off at places like "Central" shopping center, it might be a bit more diff catching the bus back as opposed to the bus stop in town. Taxi's in town are pretty cheap but beware of the side trips to shops.

Good Stuff1:

I don't usually like the bar scene but I did have fun at one of the big Soi discos. One of the stage/house dancers basicly latched onto me, actually the hottest one too. Naturally she latched onto the best lookin' guy in the place, although I have to admit, I think I was initially the only guy in the place. Damn I like the rainy season i.e. slow season. Damage was 1000b for drinks, pool table, etc. Girl gets a cut of everything. Free lancers were not attractive at all to me, although one of the other stage dancers looked more than acceptable. I offered 700b bar fine + 3000b LT since I knew she would probably accept that offer. Girls at Rock Hard wanted 4000b and weren't nearly as attractive or friendly, even though others have reported that RH has the the best lookers. I had a great time dancing and talking with this girl. She acted (and actually looks) exactly like a Japanese porn star throughout the night so she must have copied some porn movies she saw. She left early in the morning to my dismay. That and no BJ were the only disappointments. One time she actually noticed that the waitress didn't bring back my change and told the waitress to give me my change. Damn if I was younger (she was a young 25), I might have fallen hard for her. Her personality made me wish she finds another job or finds a nice guy to settle down with. More Good Stuff:

The girls at Christins massage aren't the youngest or best looking as compared to the majority of the bar girls but the massage service is good. It's around 2000-2500b with 500b tip but it's worth it IMHO. Place is very clean. If you dislike the open air bar/disco scene or don't want the all night partying, then I recommend this place since you can see all the girls behind a 2-way glass wall and basicly pick the one you want.

Danger, danger Will Robinson:

Phuket in general is safe in terms of crime. It is very dangerous when it comes to motorcycles and cars. I also noticed high power lines hanging low enough to hit my umbrella while walking on flooded roads. Losing power seemed like a daily occurence. Be careful in Phuket because my guess is that there isn't a lot of laws to safeguard people from accidents.

Misc:

The disco across from Rock Hard was closed, maybe for the low season. Next time in Phuket, I'm going to stay at the City Hotel for a few days instead of all my time in Patong. I would like to try some of the action in Phuket like Pink Lady, karaoke, etc. I'm also hoping to find some ultra-hot lookers because although I picked the ultra cream of the crop girls from Patong, I was slightly disappointed in the quality. I'm not rich but I'm also not poor either so I don't mind supporting the expensive life style of a Thai super model for a few days during the low season.

BS: I really think there is only one "soapy" around Patong--at least that's my expenience. It's Chrisine's (sp) and any tuk-tuk driver will be glad to take you there. I flex in from Patong, on the 1780 Bhat bangkok air web special. Took a 150 Bhat minivan from the airport, which of course stopped at a tour place to "check our tickets". I told everyone to get back on the bus ASAP, but one sucker wasted all our time booking hotels. With all the hassle dropping everyone off at their hotels, this took long enough to make a cab maybe worthwhile next time. Wandered around town to check out different hotels, and ended up staying at: http://www.phuketdir.com/tterrace/ which has very good rates, is new, and generally very clean and functional. And it's a 5-10 minute walk from Bangla Road, the heart of the scene. I'd recommend it... when I brought home a gal to my room they checked her ID and didn't mention any extra charges. I have a padlock and cable, which sufficed to lock the handles together of the wardrobe in my room that has my valuables. One idea I've come up with for storing valuables is simply to put them in heavy luggage on the top shelf of the closet. The gals are so short and small that even with a chair they probably couldn't get it down themselves.

First night I checked out a few bars, and ended up hanging with a good looking BG who it turned out was actually from Laos not Thailand. Spent 700B on drinks which was kind of amazing for just a few rounds... her drinks of course were about twice what mine cost.

I'm new to the BG scene, and I found that it's best to be proactive, looking around for the gals that are interesting to you, even if they aren't necessarily pulling you into their place. This gal that I ended up with was sitting looking off into a corner and actually seemed surprised when I approached her, pushing my way through the other BGs.

I think when I had dropped by earlier in the day the rates were lower by a few hundred. I spent a few minutes walking by. Every girl waves and smiles when you look at them, but there was one girl with great eyes in the middle section with a friendly smile even when I wasn't looking at her. She was attractive, although not overly so, perhaps a 7.

Told mamasan who I wanted, and she was waiting near the cash window, where I paid the 2500. For some reason it took several minutes to process the transaction (perhaps cleaning the room?) and I was getting leary, but then the gal led me to a room.

I'm sorry I don't have too much time to write right now, but after reading just a few posts I feel the need to say something.

1) as mentioned by others, don't book your hotel from the mini bus company, and tell all of the other passengers about the scam after the bus takes off from the airport

2) No one should be paying more than $1000 for long-term unless they are really old, really fat, or fucking ugly. Exception to this rule is at Rock hard or some of the go gos, which ask for $1500+. Don't be an sucker, ALWAYS negotiate your price. If she likes you, or if you just ask, you can easily get the normal price. Would buy a DVD on the street if the guy asked you for $250 without negotiating? So why do it with the girls. (BTW DVDS are always 100bt or less if buying a lot)

3) Don't buy more than one lady drink for any single girl, unless you just want to throw your money away. If you're out mongering, the money you save on drinks can be more well spent of pussy. NTM if you are sitting there buying a lot of drinks, they're going to try to take advantage of you more because they will think you have a lot of money to spend, and they will help you do it. BTW, most bars give the girls half of the price of the drink, so again, why not just pay the money to the girl directly? Also, there is no rule that says that you have to buy a drink for anyone, including yourself, at least not right away. Many bars have "greeter girls" who are the best looking ones, or ones with BFs, who will grab you and sit you down and try to get you to order a drink ASAP plus one for themselves. My advice, sit down and talk with the girls for at least 2 minutes. If there is one you are interested in, and she is willing to talk with you before you buy her a drink, then buy her one and one for yourself. Then get to know her more. If you are looking to just go out and party with the girls before taking one home later in the evening, then you should just buy yourself an entire bottle of whisky (and most bars will give you the mixer for free, coke/water/etc) then you can hand out drinks to who ever you want, plus you know that you are actually buying drinks, and not just watered down something.

4) MP's in Phuket are terrible service, or way over priced. Unless you're with your wife and need to use the "massage" as an excuse to get laid you should avoid them all. I say this because you will get a lot more for your money by hooking up with a BG. You can hook up with a BG at any time of day, anywhere. Just be cool when you aproach the girl on the street. You should be able to tell who is a player and who isn't by their clothes, etc. Christin's MP is a total rip off and should be avoided at all costs. It's huge, yes, but as mentioned earlier 1800-3000 for an hour and 15 min. is a total rip off. The girls there have really bad attitudes, very mechanical, many take drugs, most will only want to fuck once and waste a lot of time to make sure that happens, and ALL of them without any doubt will try to hit you up for a tip no matter how bad their services are. (BTW, 1800 gets you a fat, ugly, 40 year old, and 3000 only gets you a average looking 25 year old) Only 2 years ago it was full of better looking girls, and younger, and the price was only 1500 for 90 min. This place is run by the Thai-Chinese Mofia and now most of the better looking girls stay in BKK

5) Tiger Disco and Tai Pan is where all of the flreelancers are, plus most of the BGs go there after 12am where they can be picked up w/o a bar fine. If you do pick a girl latter in the night, again, again, again, never ever pay more than 1000 all night.

6) Tipping isn't a Thai custom and isn't expected. However, ALL girls know to ask Farang for a tip because most guys will give them one just for asking. If your girl doesn't do everything that you want or you are not 100% satisfied, then don't tip her. If you give her what you agree upon, she will be happy and won't cause any problems. If she does have a problem, just tell her that this is the reason why you're not giving her a tip. If you are satisfied and want to tip her, an extra 100 will be fine. No, I'm not cheap, I'm experienced.

7) Big Scam alert!!!!!!!!!!!!! Right now the biggest scam that most, if not all, of the girls are doing is this...they will agree to go with you for long time, but after one shot they will make up an excuse to leave. For example, the one someone said in a recent post where the girl had to help her roomate get into their house. Total BS! and don't fall for it. After the girl makes up her excuse, tell her she agreed to Long term and you would not have paid her barfine for short time. If she wants to go, you really don't want to keep her. BUT, you shouldn't pay her either, at least not the full amount. ST is $500 in Phuket, no matter what the girl says, never give her more. Actually, you shouldn't even give her the 500, you should only give her $300. I know that I might sound like an asshole or cheap charlie, but again it's because of experience. All barfines are split with the girls, although the % changes from bar to bar. A LT bar fine is about twice as much as a ST, so both the girl and the bar are scamming you out of your money, especially if you fall for their BS and pay her more than 500. Trust me, 500 is the FAIR price in this situation, no matter how much she bitches or puts up an act, which they all know how to do. One of their scare tactics is to say that she will tell her boss at the bar or other girls and you won't be able to take any more girls. Total BS and don't believe it for a second. You can ALWAYS find other girls, and even at the same bar. She won't say anything because she'll lose face for not scamming you, plus she originally agreed to LT and even the boss knows this. Yes, they all tried to scam you, but they don't want to get a bad reputation. Personally, if one girl in one bar tries the scam, you can bet most of the other girls will do the same thing and you should look at another bar anyway.

8) High season is here now, so ALL of the women will be coming back to work because they know a lot of Farang will be coming with a ton of cash. Although I talked about prices earlier, the really really young and hot girls know that they can get more money during the high season and will ask for more. High season is more of a seller's market. Like I said, being young and good looking will help you get more girls/better quality girls for a lower price. Just never pay the girls Western prices.

9) one more note, new legislation is being battled right now in all of Thailand, so closing times in Phuket are now 1am, if enforced. Plenty of girls on the street after this time, so don't worry too much. But, the police do like to clear the streets of all of the girls within an hour or so of closing times. Just aproach them in the restaurants or walking home. The ones walking home should be a lot cheaper because they know this is their last chance to make money.

Sorry to all that I haven't posted more in the past few months and that I didn't finish my report starting in BKK. I'll try to post more about Phuket experiences when I have more time.

Was back in Phuket between 10/18-10/23. 2004.I enjoy Karon beach much more than Patong. Lot more low key and still plenty of girls. The announced rate was 990 Bht for double (room only). The hotel sucked but for that price i thought it was OK. It was a bad surprise though when they charged me another 500 Bht joiner when I showed up with a chick i picked from Tiger Disco. You can stay at a better place wthich is girl-friendly.

Tiger Disco really rocks! It was kind of an orgy after 1.00 am, girls passing by grabbing your member, I can not even remember with how many I made out with before deciding on my 22 year old darling for the night. Tai Pan is located at the intersection of Bangla Rd and Rat-U-Thit Road. Tiger disco is located mid way on Bangla Rd. A nice in between would be the rock hard go go....the scene outside the Tai pan at 2:00am is awesome...

Note that diamond clifff is a good 3 km from the action, you should be able the bounce back and forth with a motorbike or taxi....

Although others have already answered some questions regarding the locations of Tiger disco and Tai Pan, I just wanted to point out a few other places. There is also the Banana Disco along the beach,not too far away from McDonalds. It's a few minutes away from the main strip "Soi Bangla" and there aren't any other ladies bars in the area, but inside you can find some real stunners, plus a lot of girls there on vacation looking to hook up with someone. My personal favorite, is to hook up with all of the hot Japanese girls on vacation, and of course no money is involved. However, ALL of the Thai guys are also after the Japanese girls, as you will see them swarming all around them on the beach. In Japan they might not want to hook up with a dark skinned uneducated guy, but on vacation they're just looking to get boned. I try to be the guy that gets the job done.

Some people have asked about Shark Disco recently, and I just wanted to say it's no longer there, and won't be coming back. The story was that the Foreign owner didn't want to pay more money to the cops, on top of what he was already paying. Then, the cops somehow got a video of a chick giving a guy a BJ on the top floor of the disco and put out a warrent for his arrest. he fled Thailand, and then it was taken over by a Thai "family" with connections with the cops. The re-opened with Star Wars disco in the same location and was open for 1-2 years, but the quality of the whole scene just went down hill. Mostly because of the horrible DJs they had playing "arabic disco" music etc. At the same time all of this was happening, the Tiger complex was opening up. Originally, Tiger Disco was terrible. Not only for music, but also for picking up the ladies. When shark closed, everything changed. It took a long time to rent out the bars under the tiger disco as well, but now most of them are full, except a few in the far end.

Overall, the scene in Phuket has been changing a lot over the past 5 years or so. Today, most of the bars don't even get hopping until after 10pm (of course there are some women available earlier), then around midnight or so, the bar girls start heading over to the discos and tai pan to check out the action there. Then maybe go back to their bars, etc. etc. The bars used to have stricter rules keeping the girls, but not really anymore. Of course, all of this is NOT during the high season. High season is totally different. For about 2-3 months, Phuket will be packed full of girls looking to make extra cash from the tourists. The bars should be full by 10pm, but again the really hot girls will arrive whenever they want because they know they will be barfined and don't want to fuck all night long. Some will just show up at midnight in the disco and do ST. Remember what I talked about ST in my previous post.

I met her in September. She was a FL hanging out at Tiger Disco. She hangs with another friend named Nid. Lala has red hair, at least when I met her. She looks more Japanese than Thai, very light skin, slender, about 5'2". Real sweet. She was my dream girl there.

BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) -- Twenty people died and many others were missing in southern Thai resorts after a major earthquake hit Southeast Asia on Sunday, a disaster official said.

It wasn't clear how they died. At least four of the dead were tourists, said Sorajak Chusaeng, of the Narenthorn Center of the Public Health Ministry.

The victims were in Songkhla, Phuket, Krabi, Phang Nga and Surat Thani provinces, which draw thousands of visitors each year because of their world-famous beaches.

The center earlier reported that some people had been swept away off a Phuket beach by tidal waves surging as high as five meters (16 feet) after an 8.5-magnitude earthquake hit near the Indonesian island of Sumatra.

Several southern Thai resorts were flooded. On Phang-Nga, another popular tourist area near Phuket, people sought refuge from the floods on rooftops. Cars were carried away by rising waters in neighboring Krabi, Sorajak said.

Watcharat Hospital in Phuket was full, with many foreigners coming from hotels on popular Kamala and Patong beaches, said a hospital official who declined to be named.

The tourists have told hospital officials that they were sitting on the beach when the tsunami suddenly appeared. They said a lot of people died, and at least 30 boats filled with tourists were lost at sea.

expect reconstruction sales similar to months following florida hurricanes. i recall being in mexico after some substantial storms. it can take over a year to build over the signs of damage.

dec. 26 (bloomberg) -- an 8.9-magnitude earthquake, the fifth strongest in a century, struck the indonesian island of sumatra, unleashing giant tidal waves that killed hundreds of people across india and southeast asia.

the quake's magnitude was raised to 8.9 from 8.5 by the u.s. geological survey on its web site. nine aftershocks measuring between 5.8 and 7.3 spread across a zone from sumatra to india's andaman island within four hours of the initial jolt, it said.

the earthquake and flash floods in sumatra killed at least 60 people, the national earthquake center in jakarta said. tsunami waves killed at least 523 people in sri lanka, 100 in the andamans and six in malaysia, agence france-presse said. other news agencies reported more than 200 people dead in southern india and 26 dead at beach resorts in southern thailand. thousands of people were reported missing across southeast asia.

``my mother was in the sea when the giant wave came and she escaped with only a minor bruises, thanks to help from other people,'' said francois goret, a french resident in the resort city of phuket whose house is on karon beach. ''water came at least 50 meters inland. chairs on the beach were washed away.''

the indonesia earthquake, which struck about 7 a.m. local time, was centered offshore about 1,605 kilometers (1,000 miles) northwest of jakarta at a depth of 10 kilometers, the u.s. geological survey said.

it created tsunami waves as high as 5 meters (17 feet) along the north coast of aceh province in indonesia, knocking out at least one bridge and flattening some buildings, said the geology and meteorology office.

``i'm afraid the number is going to increase,'' budi waluyo, an official at the national earthquake center said of the death toll in indonesia. ``we are having problems communicating with people there.''

the threat from tsunamis, or waves triggered by seismic activity, isn't over, officials said. ``we expect the big waves to lash chennai and parts of tamil nadu for the next two days,'' a.k. shukla, head of the indian meteorological department, said in a phone interview from new delhi.

there were no immediate reports of damage to oil facilities in indonesia, southeast asia's biggest oil producer.

``as long as you don't see any damage to the facilities, especially the oil and gas pipelines, i don't see the impact as being significant,'' said song seng wun, regional economist with g.k. goh holdings ltd. in singapore.

major damage was reported in the maldives, resort islands southwest of india. no details were immediately available.

thai prime minister thaksin shinawatra said he can't recall tidal waves of that magnitude hitting the nation's shores before. phuket is a favorite destination for foreign tourists during the end-of-year holiday season. some beachgoers were reportedly swept out to sea by the waves.

''phuket was most affected, not just people bathing in the sea but people driving their cars,'' thaksin told reporters. ''people have died, but we can't say how many yet.''

the sheraton grande laguna in phuket moved all its guests to a safe area when big waves hit hotel, staff there said. ``every beach area got wiped out,'' gary halpin, 43, a new zealander who runs a diving business in phuket, a tourist resort area on thailand's west coast, which faces the andaman islands. ``bungalows were wiped out and the bigger buildings had windows broken.''

the indonesian quake is the second in the world this year of magnitude 8 or greater. last week a magnitude 8.1 temblor was recorded in the southern ocean between australia and antarctica by the u.s. geological survey.

magnitude 8 earthquakes are capable of causing severe loss of life if centered near heavily populated areas. an 8.1 quake in mexico city in 1985 killed about 9,500 people.

the worst earthquake since 1900 was a 9.5-magnitude temblor in chile in 1960, according to the u.s. geological survey, followed by two earthquakes in alaska and one in russia's kamchatka region.

indonesia's 18,000 islands are prone to earthquakes because the nation sits along the pacific ``ring of fire,'' a zone of active volcanoes and faults in tectonic plates.
