I just posted an equally dismal report form Perth report from Perth, and here are my impressions for those looking for a root in Sydney at the cat houses. I didn't try as many places in Sydney as I did in Perth, but for the few that I went to, it was WORSE than Perth. I'm from Brizzy, and there is enough local talent in BrizVegas that I don't need to hit the brothels, but decided I would take a spin around the town last time I was out in Sydney. I have not posted in a long time. So here is my grain of salt, following a visit to Sydney. I discovered a brothel literally minutes from the airport, Marlene's at 24 Bourke street, that has been described in the past but did not receive the deserved attention.
For one, it is a reasonably good place with very reasonable and flexible rates (google it), although the line-up does include non-Asians. The rooms are equipped with showers and it is relatively clean. The Madam is kind.

To give you a brief response to your questions.
1. At the risk of sounding racist, there are basically two types of brothel in Australia, those that have Asian girls (which are cheaper), and those which have caucasian girls. You are right, there is very rarely any discussion on the latter, but I would not say that is because they are not worth visiting. If its caucasian girls you are looking for, places like Tiffanys and Stilleto will usually have at least half a dozen to choose from, although the girls generally set their own service restrictions so you will need to ask them individually if you have any specific requests. Covered sex is the norm in "caucasian" parlors in Australia, so you will be unlikely to find BBBJ on offer, but some girls do allow DFK and DATY.

BD.There are many "cash cards" available now for foreign use, where you can lock in exchange rates in advance, and avoid hefty for-ex rate charges and bank fees. Shop around in your home country to get the best deals before you leave.
Re credit card surcharges, the government has limited what these can be, generally not more than 2 - 3%. Many smaller (sexual service) shops don't offer the facility at all and will only deal in cash. Otherwise, payment by card is widespread. Some places may have a 50 c surcharge is the payment is under $10.
