Florida bar is located at Praça Mauá, 9. Scandinavia bar is located around the corner at Praça Mauá, 19A. Both are in Centro. Both are strip clubs. There is no cover charge, and both charge the same for alcohol: A 16 oz bottle of beer is R7. A mixed drink is R12.
Of the two, Florida had more "action." Think of a smaller "Help" with strippers. i arrived early, around 12a, there were a few people, but it quickly filled, mostly with locals. The women were mostly older, and more full figured, but there were a few exceptions. My friend picked up a 19 y.o. loira visiting from Sao Paulo. (She wound up spending most of the trip with him.)
Florida has a small dance floor, excellent sound and light show. also a TV with porn playing(?). In the center is a narrow stage where 4 strippers dance. there are 2 stripper cages in the corner of the room. it has a small bar, and maybe 2 waiters.

Taxi fare should be about R17 from Copa.
My friends and I spent a couple of hours had a few rounds of drinks. We spent less than R50. The previous nite we did the same thing at Franks, and it cost us nearly R300!

i've returned twice to Rio since then, but have not revisited either club.

Here I have other info on this city.... This info claims this city has a population of 300,000. a Rapdly expanding city 636 KM Southwest of Sao Luis,Imperatriz is on the border with Para. The Growth is due to rabid logging and minining of the surrounding region. The Other Possible reason to visit would to bchange buses otherwise just keep going. ARGGGHHHH That info for Me is Stupid... O.K. to Liucio and everyone else this is How I should do my trip for next year. I wanted to do it in March but In May it looks like I should have the money. I will take a roundtrip ticket from Belem from Chicago. I hope I can get a good ticket for 900 to 1,000. I know from Chicago Roundtrip to Sao Paulo on travelocity.com It said like 1,200. I guess I would be in Belem for a few days first. I will have to go to The Bank to pay my Fine and then after that to The Federal Police office in Belem. Would anyone also know How I pay my fine? Maybe I can pay this fine right away when I arrive at the Airport in Belem. Alright Alright Then I pay that fine and off from Belem I would go to Maraba one night then IMperatriz one night and then off to Palmas one night. Then another Bus to Goiana for one night then off to Brasilia for a couple days then off to Belo Horizonte for a couple days. I then go to Sao Paulo for like a week or 7 days then off to Rio for like a night or Two and Continue up the coast day by day stopping in places until I finally make it to Belem. I would like to be in Belem two nights before I leave. I do think in one month I can do this. Oh Some of the coast stops would be like Vitoria,Salvador,Fortaleza and one or two places more. I would maybe try to go directly from Rio to Salvador but am scared to Take Night Buses thru Northern Brazil. I am scared to get robbed on a night bus. Hi Guys Hope all is going fine with everyone. I have been posting the last month or so about going somewhere in Late November until Before X-Mas. First it was going to be Baja California Mexico then in to Mainland Mexico until Mexico City. Then I thought Why not Colombia or even Panama? But The more I think of it>>> I just love Brazil. That is where I had some of the best wildest XXX in My life. I was just on www.travelocity.com I was checking fares there today like Crazy. My Buddy Judd Told Me this Is Where You can find tickets the cheapest. I looked like Crazy Like I Said and the best chances for Flights from Chicago which are more direct and cheap are either to Sao Paulo or Rio. Going to Sao Paulo there are some direct planes Non Stop that get you there in just under 11 Hours. I am not sure If I can handle an 11 Hour Flight but then again it is Direct and no stops. Going to Rio it seems like there are no direct flights but only stops. Usually 1 only and in Miami. In One way that is kind of cool and it lets you stretch out a bit before Getting back on the International Flight to Rio from Miami. Two Reasons I would probably do Rio. One I think they still do not Fingerprint and photo U.S. Toursists thereand Two It is like half an hour less of flight time compared to Sao Paulo. Will post part 2 on this soon. I need help for my December trip.

Hi Again Guys just wanted to make more input on How My Trip would go. Depending on if they still fingerprint Everywhere?? I would then probably only go to Sao Paulo but if they still do not fingerprint and take your photo in Rio That is where I would go. My Main Mongering in this one month would be in Sao Paulo. I originally wanted to go to Belem but that went down the drain. Prices on www.travelocity.com with planes directly to Belem are over 2,000 Dollars. I think one way was even a Bigger Joke at over 3,000 Contacts. I also have E Mailed local Brazilian contacts in belem and none of them have replied at all. I know one thing then I will visit more of the interior of Brazil like Brasilia,Belo Horizonte,Uberlandia,Goiana and other cities. Not Sure on the coast. Probably only up to Vitoria. I know a train goes from Belo Horizonte to Vitoria. Then after Vitoria I would take the coastal bus to Rio. I also need to take of my fine that is Bullshit. The Brazilian Customs Are Corrupt Assholes. Where I will pay this Fine depends where I land. In Rio or Sao Paulo? I need to pay this fine of about 756 reales. Guys I have tried so hard to find cheap tickets to Brazil from Chicago. All I can Find is the cheapest from Chicago to Rio going at 1,100. Damn Can I not get it Cheaper? You need to widen your search a bit. For instance, American Airlines is punishing Delta, and ran a $379 plus tax fare for GIG/GRU from Delta hubs (SLC, ATL, CVG). This was only until early December, and was good yesterday.

I would recommend checking from other cities for the best pricing. Generally LAX, EWR, JFK, ATL, MIA and other big hubs may be priced better. You can buy a cheap ticket to those cities from ORD.

If you were serious about finding cheap tickets, you could set up accounts on Travelocity, and enter in an alert if the fare goes below a certain price.

In the last year, I've flown to Lima in First class for under $400, BA for a tad more, and Biz Class to Bangkok for $200. Some of these involve taking a bump and getting a voucher, but it just shows you that if you take some time and research it YOURSELF that you can find some amazing bargains.

Dec-March is high season for airfare to Brasil due to; school vacations, xmas, new years and carnaval and also due to the recent increases in fuel costs. With the list of cities you want to go to, seems like belo horizonte would be a good central point o land, (since airfare would not be much higher than to SP or Rio) and from there go by bus to other destinations, or you could land in sao paulo and make a circular route by bus from there. Remember around holidays buses are jam packed, just like airports get here in the US.

CO had a sale (probably matching AA or something) out of LAX for $379 or so to Lima. I took the longer routing, LAX-EWR-LIM for the miles. I had a $100 cert on CO, so that brought the fare down to $279, plus tax, so $363 all in.

I'm a Northwest Airlines Platinum elite, and CO flys the 757 to Lima, so I get free upgrades. On the way there, I flew coach LAX-EWR, but all international segments, and the return to LAX was Biz/First Class.

I did buy a LAN Biz Class ticket to return later this month. It was $800 something plus tax, so about $900 total. Now for me, this is an expensive ticket, but I'm trying to get some status on another alliance for next year. This will get me Plat status on American with their Plat challenge.

However, I wouldn't mind paying Biz class fares if they were reasonable like this. I won't pay $3000 though.

Ok Perk. and others then I might have to to another plan again. I will then have to go from Argentina and enter Brazil from there. I would go directly from Chicago of course and having a few days layover in Lima Peru Then off to BA Argentina. The Stopover days in Lima Peru should be like two days coming and three days leaving. Then I will have over 3 good solid weeks from B.A. Argentina to venture in to Brazil. I would then pay my fine at one of the Border Cities at The Banco De Brasil of course. I am thinking of taking a Bus Directly from B.A. Argentina of course to Uruguay. I will either enter thru Salto,Paysandu or Mercedes. I then would continue on to The Uruguayan City/Town of Rivera and then pay my fine across the Border At Santana Do Liveramento. Then After paying the fine at The Bank I would have to find out if this city has a Policia Federal Office like they do in Foz,Brazil if not I can then continue on from Rivera Uruguay to The Twin Border towns of Chui/Cuy. Hopefully My Problem gets solved there if Worse Comes to Worse I Reroute back and enter thru Uruguiana or back in to Argentina and enter thru Foz. If I still do not get in,I Then Reroute back to B.A. Argentina and have to buy a Quick Rountrip Ticket right away to Rio. At That time I have two Weeks left. So By The Time my plane tickets would be ready. I then would have just under two Weeks To Probably then just Monger in Rio/Sao Paulo. Belo Horizonte would be thrown out then. Sorry for another quick post here but there are even a few more Crossings from Urugay in to Brazil the same with Argentina. It seems like the Uruguay side has some kind of cities. The only one in Argentina with a sizeable size is the Puerto Iguaza Crossing in to Foz Brazil. I hope someone can help on this? Bella Union Uruguay? What about the scene in Southern Brazil just going North past Chui/Chuy? Pelotas? Rio Grande? Passo Fundo? These Are Cities of population of 200 to 300,000. Something must happen in these Brazilian cities. What about Jaguaria? Maybe I Spelt that wrong but that is also in Southern Brazil. I will keep on studying on this and not give up. Hell If I get no info soon on this I might just change my trip to Suriname,French Guaina and Trindad And Tobago. I would have to postpone Brazil for later in 2006. I do not want to do this but with no Help on Mongering in Southern Brazil this is What I might resort too. Enough off the Foz,Curitiba and Porto Alegre posts. I have never even heard anyone get into the questions that you do verbally. I have been in the game for over 25 years. Hi Guys Might be getting some money from my Pops Death. It Sucks But If I do or do not get this money I may apply for Social Security Disabilty. How Would I be able to live in Brazil on this? I think they pay out as little as 500 to 850. If I can do it on 850 I can probably survive in Sao Paulo on this. Would I have to then apply for temporary Visa Residence in Brazil? Do they just do it all legal or go to the border every 6 months. The 3 Countries I mentioned you can stay a maximum of 6 months then you come back. Ecuador I think is more limited but even there I heard you can get some temporary residency. In Brazil even if the Social Security or other form of money I get sent From THE US is alright If I stay just as a Tourist and also pay for my extensions for a full 6 months then I must come back and can not return to Brazil for one full yesr. I don't know about CR or Argentina, but I can specifically answer for Mexico, where I live.

In Mexico, you are allowed to live as a so-called RENTISTA with all your income from foreign sources. In my case, while I still work, all my clients are in the States and Europe, so instead of receiving a fixed monthly pension like a retired person, all my income comes from outside of Mexico, so technically, I am the equivalent of a retiree. Went to the Mexican authorities one time I was down here (Secretaria de Gobernacion), explained it to them, and they agreed.

You are issued a document called an FM3 (no inmigrante visitante) valid for a year; must be renewed every year. The first year, you pay a document evaluation fee of something like NMP 400, then the filing fee, which is around NMP 1100 right now. Subsequent years, you only pay the filing fee as long as none of your information has changed. The whole process is actually pretty unbureaucratic: some passport photos, proof of residence (phone or electricity bill, for example), rental agreement, last three bank statements showing income/funds, a letter of intent, and that's it, if I remember correctly. Everything pretty straightforward, didn't even need a lawyer for it.

Hey Perkele if you ever get this info for apartments post it back here. I am to Colombia in less then two weeks. I will come back to Brazil in 2006 of the month of feburary. Yes Exactly in a year. UMMMMM I must also now be careful when I arrive in Medellin And make sure MY DAS Stamp is in my passport as I arrive in two fridays to Medellin and also when I leave Medellin I must make sure I get My DAS Stamp. They didn't stamp it and when I was sitting at the terminal, I checked and there was no stamp. I asked all the people that check your passport, ticket, etc. before you get on your plane and they said it's fine and I'll have no trouble coming back as long as they took my arrival/departure slip, it'll be in the computer okay or something to that effect. The reason I kept asking is because of your story and also they did stamp my other times leaving Brazil (always Rio including this last time that they didn't stamp). So should I be worried and when will I know if it's trouble, when I actually try to go through immigration in Brazil again?

Yap. No stamp and basically you have no proof that you ever left the country. So depending on your luck next time wehn you go back you might or moght not end up paying the fine. ALWAYS demand the exit stamp.

Wouldn't arriving from the US be proof enough that I left and if I had overstayed my visa before leaving last, wouldn't that issue have come up when I was leaving therefore I should be okay in terms of having left in time by virtue of arriving again, no? Also, the stamps I have from Brazil are all over the place, I have arrival stamps in the departure part of my passport page and vice versa, one of the stamps are evenly in both sections. The stamp for arriving and departing look the same also other than the dates being different. Why did the idiot federal police not stamp it if it's important and why did all the airport officials I spoke with tell me, it'll be fine. These stamps can't mean much. I have heard some (extremely few) cases where guys have left, without the stamp and when returning PF saying that they never left. This can cause problems. Play it safe. You know that PF is on strike frequently.....

Hey People Sperto And others I am Back here for a quick post.. Yep I got fucked many years ago in Brazil When The Assholes custom At Foz Said I can not get in cause last time That you went to Brazil He said You did not have a stamp out... Well That Was Bullshit on The Customs not stamping me out When I left By Plane that time around. Then I was so desperate I went to Immigrations in fOZ they gave me a temporarily 10 day entrance fee in brazil and stamped with a Fine And Gave me another white paper with My Fine info And My Parents Names they wanted on it. Now I have a whole new passport.. If I go to Like The Brazilian Embassy say in B.A. Argentina Then I can try to get a visa.. Would My Name then be in the computer for trying to Get in Brazil with a Multa Penalty??? Can some answer this?? IF Not Then I can Be in Brazil in March.... HI see Guys This is Why people Like Me And KOS have our section is cause of lurkers like thick cane with only 10 posts,,, People like this Is Reasons Jackson should raise the price of membership to maybe 10 dollars more as these people do not contribute nothing to this site except cause problems here on this site.. Nibu - your visa situation is fairly unique. I guess you are an american, living in Peru and looking to get a Brazil visa in Peru (this thread has so much junk in it about lurkers and such, hard to tell).

I would contact the Brazil consulate in Peru and ask them if you can apply for a Brazil visa there.

Second, if you are a USA citizen you are supposed to apply for a visa in the area you live, like Los Angeles, New York. You could email them with your situation and get a response from them. I know the LA consulate is good about replying in a few days.

If you have to apply say in San Francisco, you could find an agency there that will submit your papwerwork and do your visa processing. You would have to overnight your passport to them and be without a passport in Peru for a short period. They could overnight back to you in Peru with your visa. This is not so risky, as you could always say it was lost and get a replacement passport in Peru.

Now as far as lurkers, ThickCane is a well known poster on another forum, he is not a lurker.

HI Off The Road and others.. Yeh I got my visa in Lima Before they gave me just the few months visa then in Santiago DE Chile on my next trip I get the 5 year visa very simple.. The Hardest is getting it in Chicago this one Middle Aged Brazilian **** there Always gave me a hard time coming there.. Thats the Worst getting your Brazilian Visa in the USSA... They give you homeland Gestapo Police Tactics to attack you.. Anyways Its Bullshit getting A Brazilian Visa probably in any city in THE U.S. Where There Is a Brazilian Consulate.. I have went many times to The Peruvian Consulate in chicago and they are great people there but not The Brazilian Consulate IN Chicago IS Full of Shit.. Wait people I be Back,, Have some problems with my computer here,,,, NIBU Raphael....
I use an agency in Los Angeles that is right next to the consulate. I know the guy now as I have gotten visas for my family to come visit. Sure I spend a few bucks, but it is worth it. I do not know your case exactly, but using an agency that deals strictly with Brazil consulate in Chicago might be your best bet. Other than that, in Peru find the Brazil Consulate. I think they CAN issue you a visa.
If I remember correctly some guys have come to Brazil without a visa (airlines not to diligent), found going to Buenos Aires to get visa for Brazil easier than returning home.
So those are my 2 suggestions for you. Hope it helps some.

Thamks Off The Road.. UMMM Damn Yeh Next month I am in Peru then trying to get to Brazil but I have some financial things to take care of Before I get in to Peru First.. UMMM also I once left Sao Paulo Brazil without the dickheads stamping my passport out and I have like a multa fine of almost like 800 reales to pay probably now about 400 bucks which sucks.. but anyways none of the info is in my new passport.. Hope That all This Info on What happened to me will not be in a Brazilian Computer when I enter and if I do get fucked on that I guess I would decide to go back to Leticia or damn just have them direct me to the nearest babk to pay this bullshit fine that was not my fault at all. another thing on this trip I might bring a Peruvian friend as a Wingman to help me not get in to problems with red tapes and so on.. I told him take care of your plane tickets boat tickets I take care of food beers and even get him some cheap *****s.. Shit Well This Hot Garota Babe that I met on myspace wants to meet me IN her City of Amazonas region.. Shes like from a city of population of 80,000 A city Called Coari.. She told me by boat two days to get there.. So I am trying my best on this.. also two days on boat boring might as well bring a sidekick with.. She invited me to stay at her house to.. I have never had a problem with the passport stamps. In Rio they were not stamping last year, not for me anyway. But I did like 30 trips in 3 years so my passport is full of stamps anyway.

I have noticed that now they have electronic scanning in Sao Paulo. I can''t recall if Rio did or not, but I am sure they soon will.

A buddy of mine just came back from Brasil....he told me he paid 6 reais for a normal beer in a small cafee there.

wtf....thats 2.35 euros (USD 3.30)..!!!

OK MAN Cool INFO THEN ON Poland Yes MY Parents Were Born in Poland But Tell ME how I Could become a Polish Citizen there???? UMMM What If I HAD Trouble starting out in Poland???
