Hey all,
Anyone stayed at this hotel before? Is this a girl friendly hotel or do you have to pay the 1000 baht joiner fee?
Thanks,
FB
I sprung for the two-level room. I'd probably stay here again, but not in the two-level room. Also, I'm on the street-side, so it's a little louder. My guess is the poolside is a bit quieter. The Dusit D2 makes an ideal base of operations for punters. You can easily walk to Beach Road and catch a baht bus headed south to Walking Street. The return trip is even faster via the baht buses that run north on Second Road. If Soi 6 is your destination, you can step out the hotel's front door and catch a baht bus in about 30 seconds. Soi LK Metro is about a five minute walk. If you are new to Pattaya, or you just want to minimize transportation hassles, the Dusit D2 is superb.
Sounds like you stayed in the "D Suite."
http://www.dusit.com/dusit-d2/en/dusitd2-baraquda-pattaya-accommodation/d-suite.html
There are only a couple of those suites. One end of them overlooks Second Road and the other overlooks the pool. So I can understand why you'd hear traffic noise. The D Suite is definitely impressive, but it seems like the design sometimes maximizes the wow factor at the expense of guest comfort. If you're looking to splash out, it's fine. But it's poor value for money.
If you go back, consider a Studio Suite room.
http://www.dusit.com/dusit-d2/en/dusitd2-baraquda-pattaya-accommodation/studio-suite-room.html
It's less expensive than the D Suite (although still far from cheap) and it is farther from Second Road so you shouldn't be bothered by traffic noise. All the D Suites overlook the pool and face north.

I agree it's a beautiful hotel with an outstanding location. But Pattaya is a place where you can find a much more reasonably priced hotel that offers good value. I don't believe D2 or Marriott are places you need to use in Pattaya. I would save the money for other uses.

If you somehow spend so much on a hotel you can't spend on the real value of Pattaya, the girls, then its not worth it.
I have visited friend that stayed at both LK Empress and LK Renaissance. Both Excellent hotels IMHO.
I am currently staying at the Sea Me Spring Hotel in Beach Road Soi 10:
http://www.seamespringhotel.com/index.html
It is my second time at this hotel, and they told me that they currently have a special promotion on-going in July (only). They offer a "member card" for 350 THB, which is valid for 2 years. With this card, you get a discount of 300 THB on the published room rates. However, now during July, for stays in July, they increased the discount to 500 THB per day on the published room rates. Hence, the card is amortized within one single day. Condition is, however, that you book with the hotel directly and not through any of the booking machines like Agoda or Booking. You might need to send an email to them since the deal with the member card does not appear in their own booking system.
The hotel is quite new, has nice and clean rooms. These are a bit dark, though, since walls and floors are all in a grey, rather than white. On the other hand, they all have a balcony (at least the deluxe rooms, I am not sure about the Me room) , either with sea view (not really necessary) or city view.
There is a pool on the roof top. Not very big, but good enough.
Furthermore, the hotel's location is pretty convenient in Soi 10. Therefore, almost everything of importance within walking distance: Soi 6, WS, Soi LK Metro, Honey 1 Body Massage, plenty of restaurants in the Beach Road.
I brought some girls to my room without any problem. They did not ask for the I'd (what is good or bad). Have a look at the "policy" on their website. They clarify that they don't charge for visitors, but keep their I'd.
I did not check, but I assume that the same discount also applies to the Sea Me Spring Too Hotel as well; they are of the same family.
Perhaps some of the fellow mongers are interested. Note that I have no relationship with the hotel nor any financial interest in it.
Wonderer
I just recently returned home after another great visit in Pattaya. I stayed at Intimate Hotel by Tim Boutique. I chose this hotel because I had stayed there before and had a good experience.
Location:
The hotel is located just off 2nd road on Soi 14. For the me, the location is excellent because it is in the middle of all my favorite places to visit. I could easily walk to my favorite agogo bar (Office) and Devil's Den in about 5 minutes and could walk to Walking Street in maybe 20 minutes or so. Each time I walked to Walking Street, I always stopped along the way for some food and a massage. I'm not in much of a hurry there. I just enjoyed taking in the sights and sounds of Beach Road or 2nd Road, so the walk there seemed not too bad. If you don't like walking so much, you can walk over to Beach Road and catch the Baht Bus (10 baht) and you'll be at Walking Street in no time. The hotel is also very near Pattaya Avenue Mall (there is a McDonald's there) and the Royal Garden Plaza (it's the mall with the Ripley's Believe It or Not). It is even within walking distance of the massive Central Festival Pattaya mall (at the Hilton Hotel). For me, the location is perfect.
Pros:
Very clean and well-maintained.
Comfortable bed. (The pillows were not bad, but a little hard for me as I am used to a soft feather pillow).
In room safe box (4 digit code you can change as needed).
Very good Air conditioning system (multiple settings and powerful).
Large shower. Room enough for a chubby guy and one or maybe even two girls if you want. The shower head is large (about 12" by 12") and the water flow is excellent (I always had problems with this at cheap hotels) and there is s much hot water as you want.
Deep, good-sized bathtub. Again, room enough for you and the girl of your choice.
Super nice maids who like to talk and joke around with the customers (open to requests for extra sheets, towels, etc). I suggest you give them a small tip each day (maybe 50 baht). I found a little goes a long way for excellent service with maids.
Very good laundry service (smells good, clean, and neatly folded) at an acceptable competitive price.
Nice swimming pool with a bar in the pool and tanning deck.
The hotel is girl friendly. There is no joiner fee for one girl, but 1, 000 baht extra for additional girls if you want more than one.
The front desk checks the ID card of the girl to make sure she is of age (must be 20 years old) and holds the I'd until you come down or call to let them know everything is OK for her to leave. I like this because it protects the guest.
Respectful staff and very helpful manager (I emailed her with a few questions and she is really great)
Wifi (I got Free wifi while I was there because of a special promo)
Good buffet breakfast is available. I had it last time I was there, but didn't get it this time because I rarely wake up in time for breakfast.
Cons:
It is it about $65 per night, which is not bad in my opinion but I know some people prefer to pay under $50.
They normally they charge 350 baht for 24 hours of use of wifi. If you stay 12 days, and use the internet about 2 hours a day, then this is not too bad. I talked with the manager while I was there and explained to her that free wifi is becoming an expectation of travelers and I suggested they make it free considering that most hotels now give it free and some travelers simply will not stay at a hotel that doesn't have free wifi. She seemed open to this suggestion and said she would try to make it free in the future.
You have to keep the room key (card) in the slot for power to work anywhere in the room. They gave me only 1 key even though I checked in with a girlfriend (she stayed with me a few days when I arrived). Other cards will not work for the power.
Summary:
For me, this continues to be my hotel of choice. Yes there are more fancy hotels and to be sure many cheaper hotels in Pattaya, but in my opinion this hotel will continue to be my choice when I visit Pattaya in the future. I booked through Agoda and the hotel also has a website with pictures and other information. The manager is quick to respond to email inquires.
Feel free to PM me with questions.

Feel free to PM me with questions.I wrote a report in the Bangkok Hotels thread about 4 or 5 weeks ago how I accidently found my same room at the Solo Hotel for $15 less than what I had paid through Agoda. So when you want to return, shop around a little. Wotif has been good for me and the response to my post listed several other options.

Is there much noise from the construction of the hotels on Soi 10 / Beach Road? You may hear some noise during daytime, but they stop during night time. I have a (non-sea-view) deluxe room facing towards Soi 10, I. E. Not directly to the construction site, and I never had any problem.
The only problem was a deaf neighbor who thought with the TV sound turned to full volume, he could hear better.
Wonderer
After too many weeks of staying in a cheap, dirtish place I had enough and moved to this resort, so far I'm very happy.
This is probably one of the largest driving ranges in North Pattaya, altough I couldn't care less about golf. It is located very near to the bus station, so that you can just walk over to/from in 5 minutes crossing the road, check maps for all the details. There are basically two accomodations available, the apartment at 650 Bt daily, and the resort room at 1050, of course the latter is larger and much better decorated. Both come with free breakfast, access to pool, mini-gym, wifi, etc. I've got a room in the apartment building and it is queaky clean, the maid aligned my shoes and ordered my stuff, placing another set of toiletries by the TV. Just lovely. Breakfast is good with various hot choices in asian style, there is an in-room menu with modest prices, option to pay in USD with prices must have dated back to the old days of 40 Bt per $1, so one cheap charlie cold even exploit that. All the place looks a little bit as if taken from 80s. The staff is all friendly and available, like "motorbike park outside". "can I park inside?". "OK mai pen lai". If you take visitors from walking street or beach road it's just a little longer ride from the locations they are most used to, if they quibble just grab their pussies, mention cancellation and they will shut up.

WondererWow nice with some additional constructionnoise. I just booked a couple of nights (Sunday. Tuesday) sea view room high floors and now I read your report. Well what the heck I have stayed there before (normaly I stay at LK Empress but it was fully booked) and atleast I like the rooms and wifi (very quick) and they have actually a quite big fridge in room (most important to me next to kitchenette). Hopefully the takeouts (P4P) will not be to disturbed.

This was a nice report and I am sure P4P would maby complain a bit at first if it is not like in the "citycenter" but after seeing bahts flying out the window then now problem atleast for a nice chap as yourself.

Needed some input on a particular issue based on your experience, for my next venture in November to Pattaya. I have tried Jasmine, Areca and Citin Loft in the past and wanted to try something different.
1. Hotel recommendations if you are planning late night pulls out of insomnia, Ibar and Mixx or the go-go's between 2-4 am.
2. What are the transport options and safety issues (not renting a bike) involved in getting back from Walking Street to your hotel at the odd hours with your pick and the costs say to Soi 11.
3. If you are renting a bike, which are the safest places to park it near Walking Street.

3. If you are renting a bike, which are the safest places to park it near Walking Street.1. I don't think it matters where you stay as long as it is close to Beach Road or Second Road. See #2.
2. Transportation in and around most of the area is very easy to get. First, you can take the baht bus (the little blue trucks with a sitting area / cage on the back). They cost only 10 baht per ride. Make sure you get on with other people or you might end up being asked to rent the vehicle like a regular taxi. If you want to go to Walking street from a hotel near Soi 11, just jump on a baht bus along Beach Road. If you want to return to your hotel, jump on the bus on Second Road. These are one-way streets. Just pat attention to major landmarks near Soi 11 or wherever your hotel I. You also have another option of renting a motorbike taxi. Those cost 50 baht anywhere in the immediate area. You need to tell him where you want to go and tell him you will pay 50 baht. Don't ask him how much or he will tell you 300 baht or more.
3. If you decide to rent a motorbike to get around and see more of Pattaya, that's cool, however I wouldn't advise riding it when you've been drinking. You need to make sure you have helmets and proper documentation (international drivers license, your home drivers license must have a motorbike endorsement). Also, make sure you have proper insurance to cover any accident. The Pattaya police don't seem t bother locals, but if you look like a tourist, be prepared to get pulled over for a shake down. Yes, a bribe. They just want cash brother. When you're out on Walking Street, just use the baht bus. It is easy and cheap.
Have a great time. Take a visit to Soi LK Metro. There are a couple of good agogos there. Also, Devil's Den is there if you want to try a threesome, but make sure you don't let the girls get lazy on you.
You have to keep the room key (card) in the slot for power to work anywhere in the room. They gave me only 1 key even though I checked in with a girlfriend (she stayed with me a few days when I arrived). Other cards will not work for the power. If its the credit card sized swipe card, I normally carry one of my expired cards and they work perfectly for the power! Its needed when you cannot wait until the AC gets the room temperature down after you've been out for too long in the heat of Pattaya!

A
I have a valid California Driver and and International License. I don't have a motorycycle license of any kind. Will the police will ticket me in Pattaya when I get pulled over? Can they read the licenses well enough to understand there is no motorbike endorsement?
I have a valid California Driver and and International License. I don't have a motorycycle license of any kind. Will the police will ticket me in Pattaya when I get pulled over? Can they read the licenses well enough to understand there is no motorbike endorsement? With all respect and not in any way meaning to doubt your riding skills, I hope you do ride motorcycles in California and have some kind of motorbike training or experience before you go riding in Pattaya. You could ride there for weeks with no trouble at all (from the police or in the form of accidents) , but the way some lunatics drive in this country could screw you up bad. Some of my Thai friends admit that Thais are in general bad drivers. I witnessed two motorcycle accidents in Pattaya during my two week trip last February and both of them ended up with the motorbike in small pieces and plenty of blood on the pavement. Neither one was the fault of the rider but could have (in my view) been prevented by following the rule "never go with a motorcycle where your eyes have not been at least 5 seconds before". This accident I did not witness:
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=048_1371301466
If you feel confident with your skills, bring a good helmet (instead of going with 100 baht helmets the rentals are provided with) and have eyes in your back. Watch out for baht buses which will stop and pull to the side of the road very quickly. With common sense and alert mind riding in Pattaya traffic can be a lifting experience.
Regarding your original question, if the Pattaya police target the tourist bikers they probably will be able to check your international license. After all, there is a stamp in the top box beside your picture or there isn't. But the odds of police stopping you at all are quite slim, especially if you stay in Central and South Pattaya and don't wander towards Naklua or Jomtien. I may be wrong, so correct me, fellows with more knowledge.
I have encountered a police check-point only once, at the top of Pattaya mountain. I did not have my international license on me so I just followed the advice of a Thai friend and ignored the police and sped along. Stupid, I agree and "I will not do it again, officer, sir"! On the other hand, my Farang friends were stopped twice last October, once in Naklua end of beach road and once on Sukhumvit and "fined" 300 baht each. The police were, according to my friends,"polite and businesslike". If you were to be involved in an accident (by your fault or not) , not having the motorcycle endorsement could mean paying through your nose for damages.
Ride safely and have fun!

Can they read the licenses well enough to understand there is no motorbike endorsement?Regarding the advice on bringing a helmet don't! Unless you actually live here don't! Why it will be gone as soon as you leave it hanging unless you can fit it under the seat or what to carry it everywhere you go don't. If you got to have a USAA standard helmet approved you can go to the Mityon Dealer parts and equipment on Pattaya Tai on off Soi 15, and get one as much as 40, 000 baht.
Sounds like you got most likely a AAA International Permit, (not a license) as most of us think it is!
With that you 99. 9% should be okay as long as you and your passenger are wearing helmet. So, just make sure the bike you rent has a updated sticker year 2557, to be able to get that the Thai insurance (medical) will automatically be updated. You want to cut down on any reason for them to write aticket. Whenever I get stopped which is often I drive everywhere I pull out all my paperwork in a packet along with my Thai license hand it to them.
My neighbor is a cop, he is the fat lazy fuck on the corner of Pattaya Klang and 3rd Road during the day. The guy barely can say two words in English which is his hand out (give me) and they have been instructed and train to look for the International Permit and verify the picture they can't read and don't understand the stamps next to the endorsements for a motorbike. They just want to see the book! Just look and speak with confidents and off you go? And if not, ask them the infraction and to save time and money? Because if you get stop in Naklau you will have to go to Banglamung and that is a lot of trouble otherwise most of the time you will have to go to Soi 9 near Central festival? Just say to the guy, I'm busy," can you take care for me " slip him his request but make sure you get the permit back right there. Oh, with the permit never mind giving him your Calif driver license!

Hotel recommendations if you are planning late night pulls out of Walking Street venues?
What are the transport options and safety issues (not renting a bike) involved in getting back from Walking Street to your hotel at the odd hours with your pick and the costs say to Soi 11.
The baht buses run less frequently in the wee hours of the morning, but they still run. The drivers know that lots of people party late into the night on Walking Street, so there are always going to be buses available. To find them, exit Walking Street under the giant television screen and turn right on South Pattaya Road, also know as Pattaya Thai. You'll see the baht buses lined up on the left side. If you want the cheapest ride, keep walking until you see a baht bus that already has passengers on board. When it's busy you may need to walk to the head of the column up near Second Road. There are also baht buses that leave from the same place that head north up Soi Buakaow.
If you are not price sensitive you can hop on the very first baht bus you see. The driver understands that to mean you are hiring him to drive you (and only you) directly to your destination like a taxi. It's wise to work out a fare in advance. If you're not going far it shouldn't be more than 200 baht.
Given the excellent baht bus service leaving Walking Street you can stay just about anywhere in the "touristy" part of town. In my view, you can choose any hotel that suits your fancy that is:
East of the beach.
West of Soi Buakaow.
North of Pattaya Tai.
South of Pattaya Nua.
Of course there are hotels and guesthouses close to Walking Street, some of them quite nice. But you don't need to book one just because you're planning to stay up late.

Regarding the advice on bringing a helmet don't! Unless you actually live here don't! Why it will be gone as soon as you leave it hanging unless you can fit it under the seat or what to carry it everywhere you go don't.I brought a helmet over last year and left it with friends at Jomtien. It is not an integral helmet, but is CE approved. It fits under the seat of some 125 cc rental scooters. There is no room for another helmet after that, though, so LBM has a valid point: what's the use if you have to carry it around if you have passengers. I use it as much as possible. I haven't shopped for motorcycle gear at Pattaya, but Bangkok prices seem seem pretty much the same as EU online prices so maybe I should have bought one here. I had an extra one at home and it did fit into my suitcase.
Just look and speak with confidents and off you go? And if not, ask them the infraction and to save time and money?Sound advice! I have never been in a situation in Thailand where that was needed. Is there a protocol? Do you have to be discreet about it or can you offer the money openly? In West Africa a policeman once took my money in the middle of a street, counted it and asked: "Are you offering a bribe to me?" "No, sir," I replied,"could you kindly pay the fine in behalf of me because I'm in a hurry". He asked for more. I kindly refused on the grounds that I didn't have any more. When being asked for a permit, I handed over my library card. He took it and said I could come and collect it the next day at the station with the money. Needless to say, that cop still has my library card.
I got stopped yesterday on 2nd road in front of Mikes Shopping Mall, so I guess the checkpoints can be anywhere. I handed over the International Permit, a copy of a passport and a valid license from a European Union country and that was enough. Some other farangs were being ticketed. It looked like they pulled over everybody, including Thai nationals.

Had a good looking room on ground floor for about 1200Baht (online booking) incl. good breakfast (rel. to price).
A girl told me, room is recently renovated. Clean. Free WiFi, also worked in my room. Safe in room. The pool I did not like, because small, and always in the shade.
Because just in middle of Soi 8, easy to use a Bahtbus from / to Walking Area, or Soi 6. I can recommend it for a budget.

They have all the helmets you need there and prices are as high as 40, 000 baht for a helmet. Although at night on Sukhumvit when I'm angry I have topped off on my PCX 130KM / H, with my 600 baht helmet knowing it wouldn't make a bit of a difference asking the man to take me like LT. Dang in Forrest Gump. Usually I do my normal which is 40-60KM / H gets me from point A to B without a problem and relax I don't see buying a fancy helmet that would most likely be ripped off even if you put it under the seat? If someone see you I myself can pop your seat up in a few seconds tops!
Yes you are right there is a new checkpoint on Second, just outside Mikes a cop on each side. Never been stopped there always wearing helmet and look Thai. At night of course outside police box 2nd and Pattaya Tai. 3rd road and Pattaya Tai across from Tony.
If I do get stopped it usually because I actually did the infraction and if I don't have time or don't want to go through the trouble of going to Soi 9, waiting / paying and then return to the cop to get my license I usually say how much fine? Soi 9, busy, can you pay fine for me I slip the money and give me my license and off I go.

Checked into Sea Me Spring hotel and I would recommend this hotel for the great location. Very close to all the action and the rooms are quite large with good views. Took the deluxe room but I am sure the standard rooms must also be of good standard. If you bring a lady back, they ask for the original I'd which they retain till the she goes back. I got a call from the reception to check if all was fine when my girl went to collect her I'd. I feel this is a good practice which adds to your safety.

I will be staying in Pattaya for three nights in December, and have already booked at Jasmine Hotel, and Galaxy Suites, which apparently is right above a gogo bar. I plan to stay at or as close to the Walking street as possible. I have read some remarks in this forum, but there is not much on Jasmine and Galaxy. I am not concerned about lack of sleep or the overtly tourist aspect of Walking street. Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I especially am looking for a large hot tub in the room.Check out the Dusit D2 Baraquda Hotel:

They offer a "Studio Suite" room that features a large jacuzzi tub that might be what you are looking for.
The Dusit D2 is centrally located and convenient to Walking Street, Soi LK Metro and Soi 6.

Have recently stayed at these hotels for almost a week each time. Here's my personal take on them.
LK The Empress: While scouting found that the prices thru most sites (including the Hotel website) were almost the same. However as I was contemplating on the place, the availability on the hotel site quickly evaporated from the hotel site (3 wks. Prior to actual stay, during off season). However I managed to find the same rooms available on Expedia.
Room: Sea View deluxe with Jacuzzi and balcony (US $100) –B / F and Internet incl.
Location: Walkable distance to Walking street / Soi-6 / Soi-LK Metro (some may not prefer it, but I don't mind a 10min walk taking in the views and I do walk at a reasonable pace).
Girl Friendly: Yes. (They do collect the ID but I don't see them paying much attention to. The call back as the girl leaves is sort of hit and miss).
Walk of shame: They don't fckg care.
B / F: B / F ok (If you eat pork, you have got better choice).
Rooms are big & clean with a convenience store attached to the hotel. Small Pool and Ok Gym. I haven't seen any kids (and very few families) during my stay and that is a big plus for me – my sole purpose of staying there being mongering. The Jacuzzi in my room worked pretty fine.
Cons: Not much really. Probably the price in case of a longer stay. It was ok for me as I just stayed hardly for a week and I monger only for 3 4 few weeks in a year.
Hard Rock: Just wanted to try another hotel. Booked Hard Rock thru Late-Stays (lower than Hotel site).
Room: City View deluxe _B / F and internet incl. (US $100)
Location : Closer to Soi-6. However better take the Baht bus if you want to arrive fresh at Walking Street.
Girl Friendly : Yesss. I did confirm with them by mail on guest policy as I read contrasting reports on different blogs. First girl of the night is allowed in free. Second one 1200Baht.
Walk of shame : Mixed. Some at the reception give you the look, some don't. If you are particular, you would notice the uneasiness- of course they say nothing. However they do check the I'd thoroughly. For one of the girls with me, the photo wasn't clear and they weren't happy about it- though they let her in finally when I requested.
B / F: Nice spread.
Rooms are modern and very clean. Food quality is pretty good, although a bit expensive expectedly. Staff friendlier than LK if I had to compare. I think the rest is pretty much standard Hard Rock- nice pool, Gym etc.
The biggest CON for me was that it had too many families / tour groups / a few children. Probably that was the reason the reception gave me the uneasy look every time I brought in a girl early. Having said that I had no issues whatsoever bringing girls and had them with me almost every night. (A few others did too).
Personally, among the two, for pure mongering purposes I would prefer LK the Empress for the location & presence of fewer families. However both are not cheap and probably not economically ideal for a very long stay. Having said that, I am not sure of the long term rates on either.
And don't forget Mr. Bubble!

Is Areca cool with a double take-away, my first booking with them next month. Can somebody visualize for me the process at the reception when bringing your friend in. Read some reports in TA on peoples safes being pilfered by housekeeping. Any experiences or tips, thanks.

Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.Would have to give it Jasmine, it is very quiet, all you will hear is this slight base from the bars. Unless you want to splurge and stay at Siam Bayshore which is around 2, 400.
Are you in there Tom? With a couple of those Kitten Club girls?
Seaman Timmy. When you fire up your PH tub. Don't forget Mr. Bubble! Really helps to enjoy the Jacuzzi SexNo, I was not in there yet. I was busy trying to flood the room out with bubbles.
There is a trick to get the most out of Mr. Bubble. Once the water fills over the jets, then pour in some Mr. Bubble, and then turn on the water jets. The girls love to play with the bubbles; it's fun watching them.
I'd like to rent a place in Pattaya for at least a month. I'd like to have a kitchen with a stove and access to a nice swimming pool. Anyone have any recommendations? I'm hoping less than 30k / month.

The A / C unit in the larger room wasn't strong enough to keep it much below 80F. Conversely couldn't get enough hot water to get a nice Jaquizzi. Otherwise the large room was a lot of fun. I like the tripping lights and multi TV setup. Mirror above bed is a big plus!

No problems filling up the tub. Perhaps you should have had a word with the maintenance man. I'm sure he could have worked some magic with his screwdriver!

Pros: Rooms are in very good condition. The hotel seems to be newer. It has a Mediterannean design style but very nice. The hotel is excellent value, we found deluxe rooms for about $80 a night. I would call it a true 4 star, almost 4 1/2 stars for Pattaya. It is very girl friendly, the girls at the front desk know men come to Pattaya to monger and don't even ask for the girls ID. They mind their own business. Best of all, after you finish partying to the wee hours at places like Insomnia at Walking Street, you nap, wake up, and eat their delicious buffet brunch. Then, hopefully you go back to your room, rest some more and then feel energized to bang your chick again before sending her on her way.

Well that was a long time ago Growtek. Maybe time to take another look. Maybe fire up the Jacuzzi that you missed out on in 2006 or 2007.

I'm hoping less than 30k / month.I too have been looking for a place with a full kitchen and a large swimming pool for at least a one-month stay. Since my preferred form of exercise is swimming, the only place that I could find with at least a 20-yard or meter long pool is in Jomtien. It's a bit further out from the Pattaya nightlife than I would prefer, but not so far out that it's not easily accessible by a baht bus.
Here are a few links to rental condos in Jomtien that I found in my research. If you search further, you might find similar condos that are better and / or cheaper. There appears to be a glut of condos so it's a renters market so getting a place cheaper might be possible.

Have you looked at View Talay 5 in Jomtien through dancewatchers. Com? I stay in View Talay 6 in Pattaya (next to Central Festival) and it is a great place. I do not have any first hand knowledge of VT 5 though.

TThSo you're picking up some chick (s) , whilst pissed, (in the wee hours) in the Walking Street. And what are you hoping for? Are you hoping for breakfast? What are the chances of you, NOT, waking up to enjoy that delicious buffet brunch? What are the chances of that, unidentified chick, spreading some unidentified substance all over her breasts? You, in your party in the wee hour's condition, gobble on her breasts. She makes noises of approval. 24 hours later you wake up. Missing that delicious buffet brunch. Missing banging that chick again Along with all you valuables. Which, in your party into the wee hour's condition, you left on show in your safe. As for the unidentified girl. Well, the minding their own business staff, probably didn't take any notice as she left. A lot richer than when she entered.
Moral of the story. We love girl friendly hotels. But we need these hotels to have girl friendly security. Because, some of the girls, are not so friendly.

Till what time is the breakfast on?Hi CM,
First of all, although it does not belong to this specific thread, appreciate your report on the Pattaya thread. Very few guys do take time to share such a detailed one. It inspires me to write my FR too, hopefully will do it asap.
BTW, the B / F timings are standard timing upto 10:30 AM if a remember well. If B / F is your thing, at similar price, one of the best in town is Siam Bayshore (B / F open upto 11:00AM). Although pretty close to Walking street it looses location wise to LK The empress if you consider Soi-6.
Bro 2012,
I have to agree and disagree with you. Shouldn't we all be Bar-Fining instead of Break-Fasting? Hehe. For someone like me who only visit Pattaya occasionally, doesn't booze at all, gym everyday, wake up everyday at the same time due to habit (office timings- I mean live & work in SEA) , B / F could be a consideration. But for most in Pattaya, who's only exercise is mostly on the bed (that's the way it should be, isn't it- damn me) , they wouldn't freaking care about B / F. Each on our own.
Shouldn't we all be Bar-Fining instead of Break-Fasting?Good question there Desp Xpat. Yes of course we should! Make sure you do!

Does anybody have any intelligence or opinions regarding the 'At Mind Serviced Residences'?
I assume it's guest friendly? (If not it's probably in the wrong town!).
The reviews I found were mixed but they mainly complain about the 'service' which is not normally a big deal for me provided the accommodation is decent. But if anyone can advise of any positives or negatives (particularly negatives, for example is the aircon inadequate? Is the Internet too slow? Are there cockroaches six feet tall?) it would be much appreciated.
By the way I have searched this thread, but I couldn't find anything!
Dear All,
I am about to visit Thailand again but this time, I wish to stay only in Pataya. Last trip to Pataya, I stay in a hotel, the place is just so so for me but I am not so much liking their receipt format, as I am on a business trip and I don't want to present to my accounting dept a bill that looks like a motel format (I wonder if the management already did change it, as per my last suggestions). Anyway, I am looking for a decent hotel that is girl friendly and yet near the walking street and of coarse near those action area. Any good suggestions will be much appreciated.

I think there are some people in your accounting department that may already be hip to what you are doing in Pattaya. After all, Pattaya is famous (notorious) for being, well Pattaya, the sex capital of Asia. Anyway, I feel your pain. So if you are looking for a hotel that is accounting department friendly as well as GF friendly, that is not a problem. Dusit D2, Marriott, Hilton, Areca Lodge, even Holiday Inn will all cut the mustard. I think I would avoid staying at the Intimate Hotel by Tim Boutique Hotel. That is a real funny name. I have stayed there and it is a nice hotel, but the name just does not sound kosher.

The answer appears to be yes, according to the 'bar girl friendly hotels' website (remove the spaces if you want to find the site).
But if anybody has been there, I would be most interested to hear of your views!
Hello, anybody has an advice about condo to rent in Pattaya (not jomtien). Something like VT6 except that in peak season (Christmas) VT6 is fully booked. Any idea?
Thank you for any suggestion.

MDWhat level of per diem are you on, if it is high. Me for example get around 265$ per night in Asia-Pacific region. Would go for one of the better brands such as the Marriot, Amari & Dusit. It is good to have nice food joints in the hotel which can be expensed as well with proper receipts.
Hi,
I just returned from Pattaya. I tried Jasmine hotel which is on a bylane on Walking Street. They are GF and don't charge when you get guests. You can opt for a sea facing room with a balcony on the 5th floor, the cost maybe about 1250 Baht per day. I had a good experience with this hotel. You should try Lucifer Disco and Insomnia which is open till early morning. Have a safe trip!

They can be a bit noisy though, check TA for full reviews and pics before you book.

I need to booked at least tommorrow. Appreciated much for futher advise. I wonder like Dusit, LK or Areca or Marriot will be the best option? Are they girlfriendly? Accessible to WS?

Okay Gents,
Myself and 3 buds are going back to Pattaya soon, and we are debating between 2 hotels. Typically, my buddies have
Stayed at the Lk Empress in deluxe rooms but they say the prices are somewhat higher (like $95) per night. I frankly
Don't care about the price, but my buddies are somewhat more frugal.
Here are our choices:
1) Miracle Suite $48 per night on Agoda, they are calling it a 4 star. It looks pretty similar in design and room quality to Lk Empress, but photos don't tell much as they could have been taken when the hotel opened.
2) Aya Boutique Hotel is $67 per night for a nice looking modern deluxe room. Looks like the Aya is closer to Walking Street (only 1. 4 km vs. 2.6 km for Miracle Suite).
If anyone can respond about either of these hotels, or preferably if you have stayed at both we would much appreciate it.
Thanks

MDPricing for the ladies is pretty similar, some coyote dancers may charge you 800-1000 for a bar-fine. Areca and Dusit were sold out for next week, last time I checked. What is your budget for hotel per night, as the hotels you are mentioning are ranging from a 1200 to 4000 baht per night.

ThanksI have stayed at all three hotels Lk Empress, Miracle Suite and Aya Boutique Hotel. The lk is the best IMO of the three. I know the deluxe room can get pricey when it is getting closer to high season. But I have stayed in both the Superior and deluxe rooms. There wasn't any different between the Superior (cheaper rooms) and deluxe rooms. The Superior room are also in the main building and are newer rooms.
I have stayed at Aya hotel a few time in all there room types. The rooms are small and the cheaper deluxe rooms only give you a view of an concrete wall. The hotel is nice in a good location about 200m from beach road and 5 minute to the Walking Street on foot; the WIFI is not very fast. The pool layout is odd its on the 3rd floor and does not get much sun I never seen anyone swimming there. Over all great location, the friendly staff, and no joiner fee for your 1st guess.
I only stay at Miracle Suite one time the overall service was bad the staff was kind of rude to the guess. I had a few issues with them also, while I was staying there. Most of the hotel amenities where out of service and the wifi was very poor. The rooms are large and look VERY nice. But the hotel location is quite far away from the beach road but near the walking street. The hotel is off 3rd road it is in a surrounded by a lot Middle East restaurants and shops. Its a little to far away from the action area for my taste. Also no joiner fee for your 1st guess.
Found this hotel in Pattaya along with a great rate on booking dot com. Agota's pricing this hotel at $65 USD for a deluxe room (you need a deluxe room to get a safe). Booking has the hotel for $38 USD for a deluxe room. Also found this article saying the hotel is girl friendly (and the information about the safe). http://guestfriendlyhotelsinthailand.********.com/2012/07/golden-ville-boutique-hotel-pattaya.html

I will be in Pattaya for the first time Jan 3. 22. Then to Phuket Jan 22. Feb 8 and then to AC and Subic Feb 8. 26. I go to the Phils 3 times a year so that easy. Phuket is a little trickier as I have only been once. I do have an I quiry in the Phuket Hotel forum. However I do not know anything about Pattaya. I am 45 and fit. My 2 wingmen do not join me until Jan 16. I will be solo in Pattaya for a a week+. When they arrive it will change a bit as my wing has just had an artificial hip put in due to an attack while serving in Afganistan in 2009. I would like to find a decent Pattaya location near the beach and in the area of the action. From what I have researched here there is action all over. We just want hot chicks with no dicks. GFE preferred but we switch them out every few days to prevent attatchment. I would prefer a little quiet while sleeping but not a far walk. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. You can post or PM.
Thanks,

.I would prefer a little quiet while sleeping but not a far walk. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. You can post or PM.Anything on Beach road [or any of its soi's] will be just fine. With the Baht buses going constantly its all basically interconnected.
Highend. The Marriott / The Hilton. Both located in malls.
Mid. Most hotels on Soi 13 / Soi 7 [Like InnHouse or Eastiny]
Low. Nobel Place on Soi 13/2. [Or really any of the small guest houses you can see walking up any of the soi's]
All of the above hotels are in the middle of the action, easy access to all of the city, and have quiet rooms [for the smaller guest houses you may want to request a room not facing the street]. This forum has many details to fill out the above summary.
My wingman has just had an artificial hip put in due to an attack while serving in Afghanistan in 2009. I would like to find a decent Pattaya hotel near the beach and in the area of the action.WHITEHOUSE CONDOTEL: Perfect central Pattaya location on Soi 13. Walk to beach is roughly 100 meters on a flat street that gets little traffic. Then baht bus to Walking Street. Walk to Second Road is about 50 meters, then baht bus to Soi 6. Soi LK Metro is best reached on foot. It's a total trip of about 300 meters. But there are motorcycle taxi guys who will run you up there in about five minutes for 50-60 baht. The Whitehouse is quiet and reasonably priced.
LK EMPRESS: On Soi Diana, within staggering distance of Soi LK Metro and the Soi Buakaow scene. Easy baht bus to Soi 6. Slightly longer trip to Walking Street and the beach. But again, motorcycle taxis are everywhere if your wingman gets tired of walking.
SEE ME SPRING & SEE ME SPRING TWO: On Soi 10, about 50 meters from the beach. Newer properties. Some rooms have an ocean view.
If being close to the beach is a priority, I'd go with the See Me hotels first, and the Whitehouse second. If you're looking to save a few baht the LK Empress is a good choice.
Your major problem is that it is very late to be booking for the upcoming holiday season. Good luck.

When I return from Cambodia I will need a place for a month.
Anyone know any monthly rentals that are not dumps?

Prefer something nice. Many of the smaller guest houses have very reasonable monthly rates [such as 10, 000B + water / power]. It really comes down to what you mean by "nice". If your happy with a room, ok internet, and reasonably quiet, then the guest houses are fine. If you go this route, and its not the middle of high season, I'd suggest just staying for 2/3 days in a hotel, and walking around the various beach soi's and soi bukhaow and looking at whats available. Its quite hard to get a good feel for these smaller guest houses over the internet.
If you want a full kitchen, multiple rooms, then you probably need to rent a condo: The view talay properties are popular :

[I've never used this website, it just came up first on google]. Dance watchers gets mentioned in the forums quite a bit, but I've not used them : http://www.dancewatchers.com/Luxury_View_Talay_6_Condo_rentals_room_views.html.html
I am one of those that does mention View Talay 6 and for the last few years have stayed there. Sometimes up to a month or so (I live in Nongbulamphu other times).
I have used dancewatchers. Com but you also should check out.
http://wwww.honeyscoffeehouse.com/.
She rents condos in VT 6 too. Her inventory is not quite as large as dancewatchers (they also offer in VT5) but she is much more personable than DW. Just my opinion.
SNIPPED.

I am thinking of staying at the Amari Nova Suites. Has anybody stayed there fairly recently (say in the last 12 months)? If so, did you find it to be girl friendly, or did they make you pay extra?
Did you like the place? Also, is it perhaps too far away from the action? Or perhaps the transport options are OK (for example baht bus or bike)?
And yes, I have searched this thread (and also I carried out a wider internet search) but did not seem to have much luck.

Girl friendly, at least for the one-bed suite I was in. Saw several visitors coming and going during the day so I assume all's fair in the studios too, so long as the I'd checks out. Didn't do LT so don't know if they will buff up the bill for entertaining an overnight guest.

They have a golf buggy that can ferry you to / from Central Road. Bikes are available across the street from the entrance. Not a thoroughfare for baht buses, though they wouldn't mind to drop if you ask in advance and pay a premium.

Does anybody else know if Amari Nova Suites is girl friendly for overnight visitors?
Also, I know it is very trivial but on a well-known travel review website one guy said the beds are 'too hard'. I don't really like hard beds myself (I remember that the bed in the Lewis Grand in Angeles City was way too hard, and I haven't been back there since!). Would anybody care to comment?
But obviously overall the place sounds good.

The best bed within my budget was at Marriotts.

This one is kinda funny. Looking for an alternative to my place, expedia showed a brand new 3 stars 'resort' for just $24 a night, Ganymede in Jomtien beach. Not having anything better to do, I drove all the fucking way down from north Pattaya just to learn that the place is one of the many cheesy ones there. I did not even removed my helmet that one of the 5 small sized gay guys hanging out there asked what I needed. A quick u-turn what was I needed and did!

"Ganymede": the wine-pouring boy of the Greek gods. If ever there was a dead give-away of a gay place, this must be it.
Sabai Wing is probably a three star place on Soi 1/2. I stayed there for the first time earlier this year and am going back again this next month. After staying in the middle of things a few times on Walking St I decided to be closer to Soi 6. You can walk to one of the best streets in Pattaya in about 10 mins. Sabai Wings rates are 1050 in off season and `1350 in high season for their cheapest rooms. The pool is pretty nice and in their other property, Saibai Lodge, you can get breakfast for 200 baht or something like that. Have to recommend the place for the less discerning traveler.
The other thing they did for me was to waive the need for credit card to hold the reservation. No deposit paid at all.

Hello!
I've been to Phuket, but I haven't been to Pattaya yet.
I'd like to know if someone have stayed at China Garden Hotel, and what you think of it?
I can't really figure out if the location is good or not? To far out, maybee?
What do you think about Flipper Lodge then?
Thanks in advance!
Rooms and pool area are fine.
Food in the morning is fine I think.
Action right out side your door.
Staff tended to be un helpful and while I was swimming in the pool with a CLEAN T shirt on to protect agaist sunburn.
A staff member who did not speak english very well when I told her why I wear the Tshirt, leaves and comes up to pool area with two maintenance guys to convince me. By then I took off the t shirt.
The front desk lady would not even step out side to tell the motor cycle taxi where I needed to go.

Driver right outside the door...Well after spending Money / time at their hotel, is that the least they could do to help me along? What would it take? 10 seconds?

Really, in Thailand you should stay "jai jen" if you want to be respected. It doesn't matter whether the other person is a waitress, a desk clerk or the manager, or even if you could have bought the whole hotel seven times over. If money is anything in Thailand then it is something that gives you almost the obligation to behave up to your position in life.

Hey guys heading to Pattaya in a couple days. I see a lot of post for hotels near Soi 8 but not Walking street areas. Dive lounge or Flipper hotel, any other recommendations? Kinda lazy and don't want to walk far to the action. Thanks. Diamond beach hotel? $35-50 per diem. Going on a Monday so. Worried it might be slow.

I stayed in the Sunshine Hotel on Soi 8 when in Pattaya last week. I don't remember what I paid but know it was pretty reasonable. The hotel is quite nice with multiple pools, a good sized room safe, comfortable bed and decent bathroom. There's plenty of bars and go-gos on and around Soi 8 although it's a bit of a walk to Walking Street. It's girl friendly for at least one girl but I don't know about multiples as that's really not my gig.
Flipper lodge is terrible. You get what you pay for. The staff is extremely unfriendly. Condescending even. Internet is expensive. The night life being right outside your door is great if you don't like walking but music is booming til 330-400am. Ear plugs recommended. And Soi 8 is much lower quality than years passed. Has 1 decent bar with 15 girls. 5 of which are doable but are required to stay til certain time to draw customers. Other bars have 4-5 girls. Low quality. Soi 7 better option but also has lost draw.
Rooms in building B are newer / cleaner, but have extremely thin walls and doors connecting to room next door. You hear everything from tv (even low volume) , to your fellow mongers pounding away at all hours. Room next to a smoker? Smoke comes in under door and stinks. I had to put a wet towel to block door crack.
Shower has good pressure. Beds are rock hard. Great pillows. Maid service good. Food okay but buffet not too clean. Pool was freeezing so most just sat on deck chairs sunning. Roof top pool staff great but unattentive. You had to walk over to them to get anything.
Overall clean but not an enjoyable stay given all other problems. You've got to be comfortable and sleep to charge up for mongering.
1 or 2 days okay. Longer than that, you'll regret it.
Flipper lodge is terrible.I made the mistake of staying there last month after getting a deal on the rates. Flipper used to be OK but you're absolutely right. It's a really good place to avoid now. Maybe the unfriendliest staff I've ever encountered at a hotel in Thailand. With the clientele they get there it's almost hard to blame them. Seemed like every time I went to the front counter there was some kind of massive argument going on between a scrum of Russians and a hostile employee or two.
Sunshine has also gone downhill but it's still a better bet, as are the various Eastinys. But basically I don't think Soi 7 or 8 are very good places to stay any more.

I was in Sunshine in October last time, and especially liked the big breakfast buffet. Always skipped lunch afterwards. No problem to have breakfast with a girl next morning. Walk to WS still reasonable for me, to inspect the FL in the afternoon / evening. Otherwise. 10Baht for a bus.

Has anyone had experience with guests at the Hilton in Pattaya? I stayed at the Conrad in Bangkok last year and brought two girls home one night with no issue but they also didn't take their ID at the desk which I know could be a risk for me. Does anyone know if the Hilton in Pattaya is the same? I was thinking about staying at the penthouse but the reviews seem to suggest it has fallen into disrepair in the past two years. I have the points and do like how I am treated at the Hilton plus there is a caliber that I can trust. Are there other equivalents?

Yet again. And more. And still had adequate funds to enjoy the attractions (quite a few times)!
BadDances, here are a few I would look into. I have never stayed at the Hilton. Personally I don't think you need to spend a lot for hotels in Pattaya to get a good hotel. LK The Empress on Soi 12 at Beach Road. Dusit2 on second road at the Avenue A mall. That's just across from Soi 13/1. And there is always the Pattaya Marriott. For me location is everything. I hate walking in the Thailand heat and need to be very near a baht bus. The places I mentioned have outstanding locations. I would pick out the cheapest of that group and go for it. You can't go wrong with any of them.
Has anyone had experience with guests at the Hilton in Pattaya?I stayed there three times in the past, never had an issue with bringing back girls. But I always sneaked in through the mall and never passed by the lobby while bringing back a girl.
Two girls ago there were reviews in the internet that th hotel charges 1. 000 THB for a joining guests. The latest reviews indicate that obviously management policy has changed and they no longer charge a joiner fee.
Anyway Allover IMHO is also right, there's no need staying at a high priced hotel. I really like the Hilton Pattaya and was always treated nicely as a HHonors Gold Member, but no matter you pay cash or use your HHonors points, the Hilton Pattaya is very pricey. I'd rather spent my money or points on the new Hilton Sukhumvit or DoubleTree Sukhumvit in Bangkok and stay elsewhere in Pattaya.
Guys,
Read through the forum. I am booked in at the discovery beach hotel in Pattaya.
Is the location handy to all the action.
Thanks for the help in advance.

I have stayed at Whitehouse Condotel twice before. I concur, reasonably priced, good location, near the action but far enough away for some quiet time.In MY opinion a nice place to stay, quiet and well located.
It attracts mostly UK / European golfers and the UK owner arranges golf trips.
The "middle sized" rooms are rather good and (if you need the extra room) the large suite is very good.
Breakfast is quite OK and FREE!
Like some other hotels there is an extra charge if you want to bring two playmates back for a threesome.
Enjoy,

This hotel is probably not suited to the two week millionaires who need to be close to the action on walking street but rather medium to long term mongers. Its located on soi 10 cental Pattaya road (Pattaya klang). I stayed her for a couple of nights between Christmas and NY due to the shortage of accommodation and was presently surprised. The building has been refurbished with very good fitout (for Thai standards) including the bathrooms. The rooms are very large and seem about twice the size of what I am usually use to and are very clean. The place is monger friendly and there is a receptionist on duty at all hours. For the extremely inenbriated or slightly handicapped monger there are lifts to all floors available.
I stayed in a standard for 700 baht at night and goes for 7, 900 a month which is excellent value as it comes with a balcony and aircon together with Cable TV. Downside was that widows are minimal but its more of a fault with the original design I think. In addition there are deluxe and superior rooms at daily rates of 800 and 900 baht but since the place was full I didn't get a chance to check them out but Location is excellent with Big C is located a block or so around the cornor, some interesting Thais restrauants and stalls that open up at night along lower patta klang.
The manager there speaks excellent English and best of all seems to run the place along western lines so there none of the usual mai pen rai bullshit. She is probably the most professional hotel manager I have come across in LOS. As I alluded to before this place is suited to those on longer term holidays who need quiet, clean accommodation within a reasonable budget.
Last time I stayed at Jasmine hotel. Good and cheap but rooms were a bit too poorly decorated for my taste.
Any other recommendations for a bit upscale girl friendly hotels at walking distance from beach road or walking street?
Must be very quite though.
Thanks in advance.

How is the internet at the White House? Any problems using accessing your Email and using an apple computer? Last time I was there I could not use "back to my Mac" because of their outdated modem. Hopefully they have updated their system. When I stayed at the White House in December of 2011 wi-fi was available throughout the hotel. (Even though the sign out front advertised DSL!) I had no trouble connecting in my room on the second floor overlooking Soi 13. But when I was up on the roof working poolside I had to be careful about where I sat. The bandwidth was adequate for e-mail and ordinary web surfing. I can't speak to more demanding applications like a VPN or downloading large files. I'm a Wintel guy, so I can't speak to any Apple connectivity issues either.
Finally, I seem to recall I paid extra on top of the room rate to get the wi-fi password. In my view that's a "junk charge," especially when you're paying over 3,000 baht per night for a nice one-bedroom hotel suite. That was more than two years ago, however. These days the White House may have stopped charging extra for internet access.

There were some questions about joiner fee at the Hilton in prior posts, my answers a little late but here's the lowdown. You'll never get a chick past the rats in the lower lobby. 1000 baht plus some pretty good interrogation of the girl once they have I'd card in hand. They don't play there!

I have just booked in here for 8 nights from 14 Feb 14. Gives me a decent base to look at other options while in Pattaya. Hope to stay three to four weeks in all.

Anyone stayed at the Privi Suites before? There was a report about it in the reports section. I'm looking for some place $50 with a jacuzzi. Size and noise level is not important. It just needs to be clean (no roaches) and have a jacuzzi.
Also, in regards to Thailand hotels in general. Is it cheaper to book online or just show up? This is my first time to Thailand. I was thinking of booking a night online and then see how it goes. If the hotel is nice, I'll stay longer. If not, I'll go look for someplace else.
This info is only relevant to those that like to save, need to stay a longer time, and drive a bike.
Some examples off Sukhumvit Soi 53, also called east Pattaya.
Nice, ample 1 bedroom with patio, pool 7.000 Bt / month. 500 Bt / month for linens (yes that is ridicolous) , 7.000 Bt deposit, electric and water billed separately.
Small room in a new building. 3.000 Bt / 2 wks or 5.000 / month. Deposit 2.200 Bt. No charge for utilities apparently, that is where I'm staying at the moment.
Free internet is a given, if not, move on. All these arrangements will require you to do your cleaning and linens change, or be charged for, like 150-250 Bt.
I must underline that these places can be cheap, but are absolutely clean, well maintaned, safe and decent. PM if you want more details.
Pattaya has become a big town and you can find equivalents or better all over the place, just moving a little out of touristic areas.
Is the Selection hotel on Beach road moo 9 girl friendly? The answer is:

Interesting that everyone wants the "higher priced places". I tend to "go native" myself. My Thai is decent and all I really want is a fridge, a clean room a decent bed and no hassles. Internet is a plus but as long as I can get a cell phone signal, I can get the net. There are some places on Buakhao between Honey and the night market that charge about 8000 / month for "standard room" and I will probably try one of them in May. Otherwise I tend to stay off 2nd road for about 500B / night.
I saw some relatively low cost apartments (5000 / month) off 3rd by the driving range. Kind of need a moto to make it work. Too far to walk regularly.

any idea where i can get 2 bedroom apartment max $200 per week or a hotel $25-35 per night?there are numerous condos in pattaya that can be rented on a short term basis. just google "pattaya condo rental." virtually all of them are studio units, with a rep001tering of one-bedroom units also on offer. two-bedroom units are very rare, and even if you find one it will be *far* more than you are willing to pay. at 32 baht to the u.s. dollar, $200 per week works out to 914 baht per night. that's just not realistic for a two bedroom condo booked for a one week stay.
your $25-35 budget for a hotel room is better. that's 800-1120 baht per night. at that price point, your best bet would be a room in one of the guest houses or pubs. they are all over town, mostly *east* of second road. here is one example:

bunkythank you bunky. i found good hotel (tune hotel) 3stars 100$ for 3 nights if you booked online, girl friendly, but no smoking and no refrigerator. 15 20min walk to walking street but lots of bars near by or you can take a taxi for 10baht from beach road which is 2 3min walk from the hotel and road2 taxi will drop you in-front of the hotel for 10 baht too.

You can take a taxi for 10 baht from Beach Road which is 2-3 minute walk from the hotel and Second Road taxi will drop you in-front of the hotel for 10 baht too.I've never stayed at the Tune Hotel, but from the photos on their web site it looks like comfortable basic lodging.
As for the location, the Tune Hotel is at the north end of town, on Second Road just north of Soi 4 not far south of the Dolphin roundabout. But that's OK because you'll be able to use the baht buses that run southbound on Beach Road and northbound on Second Road. In fact, you can probably catch a northbound baht bus on Second Road and ride it up to the roundabout, at which point some of baht buses turn left and then go south on Beach Road. Or you can just walk toward the ocean on Soi 4 until you get to Beach Road and catch a baht bus there.
You can also easily walk to Soi 6, which should be on every punter's agenda when he visits Pattaya. Soi LK will be a little more difficult to reach. You could walk, but it's a bit of a hike. You could take a baht bus south on Beach Road to, say, Soi 10 and then work your way east. Or you could just take a motobike taxi. That's a little more expensive than the baht bus. But I think it's worth it.

I have stayed at Tune Hotel for a week, didn't pay anything. You have 2 towels in the room, room service change them daily and you can read the faqs of the hotel too about visitors.
The onlt thing it's non smoking hotel penalty is 2000baht for smoking in the room because there is smoke detectors in the room. And for good price book from booking websites for cheaper price unless you want to pay 75$ a day; .

MavDynasty Inn soi 13. Your laptop probably won't fit in the safe or in most in room safes. I have yet to see a safe where my laptop fit and mine is 14". No problems with guest in your room. No guest fee either. However, there might be a fee if you have more than one. The last time I was there in low season the rate was 1275 baht / night.

MavMost all hotels have safety box, but not big enough for laptop. I stayed at the Lk Metropole and it had a room safe big enough for my laptop and dslr camera.
If your safe isn't big enough, lock your laptop in your suitcase and your suitcase to something in the room.
I usually stay in this place: convenient for Soi 6, but probably best if you rent a scooter. The 1 bedroom suites are great, good value and have a walk-in shower. The deluxe rooms are a bit below par. The wifi in the rooms is crap though. Wifi in reception area is fine, but when I sat there last night in the space of one email I was nearly devoured by very itchy biting flies from the adjacent garden area. Totally guest friendly.
There's a post here about Secrets:
http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showthread.php?1875-Pattaya-Hotels&p=1256963&viewfull=1#post1256963
I always stay at Secrets. Once at the Villa and probably 6 times at the Hotel now.
Well run ship. Strong WiFi in rooms.
Most of the girls in the Secrets bar which is attached to the hotel aren't go-go class. But they have a good attitude. I have found some definite gems there over the years but would generally recommend going elsewhere. Many are a bit too pum pui for my tastes.
A bit of nickel and diming going on at the hotel. But at around 1, 000 bath per night, what can you say, I guess margins are tight. I suggest that you ask the front desk to empty the mini bar. Stock it yourself, much cheaper than having drunk girls pilfer through it.
Book their taxi service too. 1,500 from BKK. Great to have a car waiting as you get through immigration and customs.
I prefer their rooms on the 3rd floor. Might not be for all. There's only a narrow staircase, and bar girls on 6" platforms can have issues. Same if you are a weak-legged girlyman.
About as close as you can get to WS while staying sane.
I have a room there reserved for June 5-8. So send me a PM if you're there at the same time.
Final warning, they require a deposit when you make a reservation (1,500 bath) and this will wind up on your card or bank statement as Secrets Pattaya. Which is a stupid way to do it. Not a problem for me, but could be for someone who's not paying attention. Know what I'm saying?
Cheers!

Checked the hotel on the web. Looks awesome. Never been to Pattaya so so just couple of questions is it guest friendly and how close is to action.Yes. It's guest friendly and it's right in the middle of LK Metro; it's an easy 10 minute walk to the beach; 10 minute walk to either big shopping mall: easy access to the Baht Buses; lots of entertainment and dining choices right outside the hotel. I haven't stayed there, but I've stayed at both Areca Lodge and Tim Boutique at least 5 times each, and they're both in the same area, but their safes are too small to hold a laptop. So I just take my iPad, iPhone, iLube, iViagara, and iCondoms and I'm ready for a month in paradise.

Been to Pattaya 2 times and was planning my next mongering trip. Are there any decent hotels that allow 2 girls to join you in your room without questions or joiner fees? Otherwise any suggestions of places that have a resonable joiner fee for the 2nd lady? Any help will be appreciated.

If your safe isn't big enough, lock your laptop in your suitcase and your suitcase to something in the room.About 5 years ago, I checked into a hotel in Pattaya that had a room safe; but the previous guest forgot to leave the safe open so it was closed and locked. I called the front desk and they sent a maintenance guy who quickly opened it. I don't know how he opened it so quickly, but I've always kept that in mind whenever I put anything in a hotel safe. A hotel safe can give a guest a false sense of security which a dishonest hotel employee can take advantage of and take a few items (jewelry, credit card, money) without the guest missing it.
I'm a big fan of PacSafe TravelSafe. Even if there's a hotel safe, I'll still put my valuables inside a locked PacSafe and put it inside the safe; but I replace the PacSafe padlock with a beefier Master padlock. If a dishonest hotel employee opens the safe, he or she will have to take the PacSafe; then I'll know it's an inside job.
If there's no hotel safe, you really can't leave your laptop or tablet out in the open or unsecured. It might not be the hotel maid who steals it, but hotel maids are notorious for leaving room doors open or unlocked as they clean. Someone can quickly walk in, grab it, and be gone in a flash.
PacSafe TravelSafe 12L will hold a 15' laptop.

PacSafe TravelSafe 5L will hold an iPad tablet.
http://www.rei.com/product/866225/pacsafe-travelsafe-5l-gii-portable-safe-
When I'm home, I keep a PacSafe TravelSafe in my car which I attach to a metal bolt under the car seat. It's great when I go hiking or to the beach and have to leave valuable inside my car (like a GPS).

Hey guys,
Coming to Pattaya in June. Booked for two nights with The Privi Hotel. Anyone have any experience as to how it is and if it is girl friendly.
I was thinking of the Penthouse hotel but does anyone have a non roach infested better location for a 1st time visitor?I think I speak for many punters when I say that Mr. Niko's question is void for vagueness."Non roach infested" sets the bar pretty low, so I could recommend any place from a no-frills guesthouse east of Soi Buakaow at 800 baht per night to the duplex suite at the Dusit D2 for 5000 plus. Perhaps if he lets us know what he wants to spend, and what hotel amenities he prefers, we could be of more help.

BunkyThanks Bunky but after reading some non flattering reviews on the Penthouse and with advice of some seniors I will book the Sandy Spring Hotel. I just need a nice big room with a balcony view so my many guests at one time can have a blast.
I was in Patts about 10 nights ago. Stayed at Sunview Place on soi bukhao for 12 nights. Paid about 750 baht a night, booked thru agoda. Staff were fantastic, rooms clean, although its is looking a bit old and the towels and linen were looking aged. I would stay there again.
They saved my ass as the first night in Patts, my BF ended up being 17, although she looked 25. The stern reception lady did a great job saving my bacon!

The Whitehouse Hotel shows they have airport transfer, but they have not answered my email. Is it free if I book a room? If not, generally how much is it? Any info on the Whitehouse would be appreciated.
I have stayed there every year for about 8 years. Very good value. They can arrange airport transfers but they will charge a premium. The Whitehouse location is IMHO the best location in Pattaya. Three minute walk to Beach Road and 2 minute walk to Second Road and the Avenue Pattaya Mall. You can easily get a baht bus on Beach Road to go to walking street (also can walk) and the Second road baht buses make it easy to get to the Second Road soapies, soi 6, and Big see and Central Festival Malls. Bathrooms in all rooms are large and easily accomodate 2 people.
You can make transportation arrangements to get from Pattaya to Bangkok city or airport by leaving the hotel and going to Second Road. Tons of transportation agencies there. There is also one or two places right across from the Whitehouse front door. Literally a 3 second walk. Plenty of ATMs and currency places, 7-11, a grocery store (Villa Market I think) very close. Take in a movie at Avenue Mall. Not crowded like some of the other theatres. Breakfast is decent and is served late. GF of course but they may charge for bringing two girls back. They collect the girls IDs when they visit you. I consider that a very good thing.
Fellas,
I am traveling to Pattaya for the first time in July. In your opinion amongst these three hotels Nova Platinum, Sunshine and LK Metropole, in order of importance, gf w / no charge good wifi in the room being second, swimming pool third, and close to walking street which would be the best choice? Also when I was in Dom. Rep. I bought a device from Orange that allows me to have wifi on the go. Do you think it will work there? I hear they have the same type of setup called pocket wifi and all I would have to do is change the sim card IF it is unlocked.

Plenty of action right around this area and its a 3 minute walk up or down to catch the baht bus.

I consider that a very good thing.I spent almost a month at the Whitehouse Condotel a couple of years ago and enjoyed it very much.
Adding to what Mr. Allover had to say about the location, I will note that the Whitehouse Condotel is also within easy walking distance of Soi LK Metro, which recently has greatly expanded the number of places of interest to naughty boys. You cross Second Road, go north about a block and then east for another block and you're there. From there you also have easy access to the establishments on Soi Buakaow, like the night market. If you fancy a big breakfast taken poolside the legendary Lek Hotel buffet is directly across the street from the Whitehouse Condotel. If you get bored with the bill of fare at the Lek, you can walk up Second Road to the Apex Hotel and check out their poolside breakfast buffet.
As for the accommodations at the Whitehouse, see the attached photos. This is the premium offering, a one bedroom suite. It featured a wraparound balcony, but the views were underwhelming. I have not stayed in the smaller rooms, but other gents have favorably reviewed them. There is small rooftop pool, and the wi-fi works up there so you can get some work done while catching a few rays. Overall, the vibe at the Whitehouse is rather subdued, quiet even. The place caters to golfers and many of them retire early the better to get off to the links at the crack of dawn. Don't get me wrong, the Whitehouse is definitely girl friendly. It's just not a party all night type of place. I like the combination. When I want to relax I can retire to my suite on a very quiet little block in central Pattaya. But when I fancy going out the nightlife is only steps away.
Finally, with regard to transportation from the airport in Bangkok I recommend:
http://www.pattaya-taxi.com/
The boss is Khun Keak and his fleet of drivers is very reliable. Prices might be a few hundred baht higher than what you could negotiate out on the street. But I like being able to book in advance by e-mail. And when I get off a long ass flight it's reassuring to know the driver will be waiting.
Bunky.
Here are some more photos of the one bedroom suite at the Whitehouse Condotel, plus some exterior shots.

But now they specialize in hosting groups of loud, obnoxious, budget travelers and allow them to have up to 4 people in a room designed for a maximum of 2. Plus these boisterous folks love to yell in the hallways outside your door so sleeping is next to impossible. They used to have a rating of 8 plus on TripAdvisor, but now it's in the mid 6's. It's neighborhood has also become a haven for Middle Eastern travelers, with the requisite hookah lounges and middle eastern food. If you are looking for more of a Thai experience then I recommend either of the other 2 hotels, and I personally like the location of LK Metropole better than Sunshine.

On my last trip to Thailand, while in Pattaya for 5 days, we stayed at the Four Seasons Place Hotel in South Pattaya. This is not to be confused with and is not affiliated with the Four Seasons Resorts hotels worldwide. My opinion is that this hotel is a very good value if you want a high quality, good size room but do not need to be close to the beach or Walking Street. It is a good 10 to 15 minute drive to Walking Street or Beach Road where I think is the best location to stay close to in Pattaya. The rooms are very large in size, the hotel is GF, and the breakfast buffet is decent. It does not have a lot of rooms, so it is more limited in amenities. There is a smaller pool and gym too on premises. I think next time I go to Pattaya I will stay at my favorite place the LK Empress.
Thanks for the response fellas, I almost have it down to either the Sunshine Hotel or LK Metropole. Hopefully I'll be able to get a couple of buddy passes and fly out, on or about the end of June beginning of July. Which of those hotels are closer to the part of Walking Street that has all the action, and is it walking distance?
So. I'm in Pattaya for just a couple of days, and plan to make the most of it. And will be bringing different girls back several times throughout the night. So looking for a hotel that will work best for me.
-Walking distance to main area on walking street.
-no joiner fees.
-ok with bringing back more than one girl in the same night.
-ok with two girls at once (not as important).
-money isn't really an issue.
-ideally can avoid front desk altogether. When I went to Phuket, was in a hotel just a 3 min walk away from the gogo bars, and it had a seperate entrance for the larger rooms, so could be discreet and bypass hotel staff completely, so never had an issue bringing back one girl for a few hours, then two girls later. Would like to find that in Pattaya.
Actually to answer my own question, it looks like Jasmine Hotel would fit the bill.
Yes Jasmine hotel is a good option right on soi BJ just off walking Street. They charge 1250 baht for a top room on 5th floor which is sea facing with a balcony. Other rooms are small. Guests are allowed without any joiner fees but need to drop I'd at reception., its good for your safety. Other services at the hotel are below average.
You can also try second Road there are many hotels.

Thanks in advance!Just returned from my yearly adventure to Pattaya. I've been going to Pattaya for the last 15-20 years. I've have stayed in many hotels through the years. To me location is top priority. I like anything between 2nd and Beach Roads or withing close proximity. I try to stay few steps from the regular Bath Bus route. If I'm going towards walking street I walk to Beach Rd. And if going towards North Pattaya I walk to 2nd Rd. Get in a Bath Bus and 10 Baths later you are there. I normally book two nights and then extend if I'm pleased or move if I'm not. For those new to Pattaya there are literally 100's of hotels at all price range and 100's of Bath Buses running 24/7. I like to use Trivago or Kayak to book.

I would like to get some recommendations on budget hotels near Walking street or the infamous Sois in the range of 15-20 USD / night.
Preferably with:

- decent mattress.
- room clean and cosy enough for a girl to feel respected (iow no shitholes).
I'm sure some of you out here have tried and tested some. Please share!

- decent mattress.
- room clean and cosy enough for a girl to feel respected (iow no shitholes).
I'm sure some of you out here have tried and tested some. Please share!I have to recommend Honey Lodge. It has a good mattress and its around $30 a night. I stayed at a lot of budget hotels when I was in Pattaya, most of them have one thing in common, their mattresses was as hard as the floor. I remember when I first stayed at Honey Lodge after staying at other budget hotels, the mattress was so good I had my first good nights sleep and didn't wake up until noon. The best part is that its a block away from the entrance to walking street. The shower pressure sucks. Of course its guest friendly. Wifi isn't free, but it was not expensive, I think it was 20 baht a day.
They do ask for a deposit, don't forget to ask for it back when you check out and make sure they write it on your receipt.

Hello fellas,
I would like to get some recommendations on budget hotels near Walking street or the infamous Sois in the range of 15-20 USD / night.
Preferably with:
- AC.
- window.
- decent mattress.
- room clean and cosy enough for a girl to feel respected (iow no shitholes).
I'm sure some of you out here have tried and tested some. Please share! To wild west.
If you only want to pay 15-20 USD a night you can only get a backpacker room at Bukaho area, may be 20 yr ago you can get this price not any more keep dreaming newbie.

You might be able to get something close to the $20 (650 B) range if you: 1) arrive in low season 2) book the room for 30 days or more 3) shop around a lot 4) pay cash in advance (money talks after all).
Many establishments will give discounts for longer bookings. I recently emailed my usual Bangkok hotel to see what they could do. They said they offer a 10% discount on stays of 15 days, and a 20% discount on stays of 30 days. It never hurts to ask.
The other options for the OP are to dollar cost average into something: ie the cheapest lodging possible for a few nights and something better for a few nights, and there is always your 300 Baht short stay hotel which might accept 650 Baht for a nightly booking.

The way I look at it if you spend all that money and travel a long way to Thailand your flight cost is already 1500 USD and you don't even want to spend another 30 USD a night for a decent hotel, why even bother to go all 15 -20 USD going to get you is a shithole back packer room in Pattaya, yes I know local can get room for the cheap if they stay for one month no AC.

I would like to find a room that has a balcony, a refrigerator that is reasonably sized or isn't already full of the hotel's stuff, and that costs about 1,000 Baht / day for a month stay.
I've stayed at the AA Pattaya and the AA Pattaya Residence, the rooms are nice, the people are friendly, and they have a beautiful pool, but no balcony or fridge space.
I also stayed at a couple of guest house on Soi 12 east of Second Road. I can't remember their names, they were adequate. But no balconies.
And for a couple of days I stayed at The Haven in a room at the pool, which was very nice but no fridge or balcony.
Also let me ask: has anyone stayed at any of the hotel / guest houses on Soi Post Office? They sure are centrally located, but I would think noisy.
Thanks for any advice or opinions.

Hi guys!
So I'm heading out for my second trip to LOS next week. I'll be there for about 5 weeks. Last time I went, I didn't have a laptop with me. I'm considering bringing my 15.6" laptop on this trip. It's a bit large to lug around, but considering anyways. I know that most in-room safes will not accommodate a laptop of this size. So I'm wondering, if you bring a laptop, do you guys just leave them exposed in your room or stick them in a drawer or something? Anyone ever had theirs ripped off? I'm really not too worried about the maids taking them. Overnight guests maybe. I'm sure this has been discussed before but I couldn't find much more than room safe discussions on the topic. Appreciate any response on the matter.
Thanks!

Thanks!Never had a problem with laptop. Most hotels require the girl to leave her I'd at the desk and call you before they let them leave.

Thanks!Never had a problem with a laptop, tablet or camera, or -actually- anything else.
If my laptop is too big to put it in the safe, usually I put it in a drawer, but that is more to tidy up the room than protect it from theft. I think the bigger risk is that the maid might accidentally drop it when cleaning the room.
Stock it yourself, much cheaper than having drunk girls pilfer through it...Nice info. Chicas look doable to me. Is there a discount if you are staying in the hotel on the chica rate?

The purpose of my day 2 was first to investigate if I could find a better price / quality hotel after my 3 days Agoda reservation in Basaya beach hotel. The answer has been: NO.
Either it was more expansive, or bad quality. Especially, I visited Sabai lodge, they had a promotion rate at 800 Bt but for rooms with no window. And their rooms with window were rated 1150 Bt, but in this hotel the corridor is on pool side, meaning the rooms have windows on uninteresting view.
Conclusion I decided in this offseason period (July) to stay in excellent (sure without luxury) Basaya beach hotel.
- wide rectangular 25 m swimming pool.
- wide room with wide garden and pool view.
- excellent location Central road, but quiet as far from street.
- wifi in room and garden (however not fast).
- correct air cond.
- good cleaning service (toilet paper, free water renewed without request).
- sure it is an old hotel refurbished here and there, with old furniture. But good bed-.
- and breakfast buffet is average and too pricy (350 bt) and closed at 10 am. But plenty of alternate choice nearby, same for cheap laundry service.
All that for 20 E per night (900 Bt), through a renewed reservation of 10 days with Agoda. As the reception staff is not entitled to go below 1000 bt and perfectly suggest a resa via Agoda, when you show them cheaper price on Ipad!
And I shall normally stay there till end of July.
Please do not hesitate to send me private message if you want my phone number to meet me.
Hi,
I've previously stayed at the Intimate Hotel Tim Boutique (nice but has gotten slightly expensive) and Flipper House (A bit run down). I'm looking for a new mid-priced hotel to stay during my next visit in October. Ideally a hotel where I can choose to ask the girl to show her ID at the desk -- or not, and ideally a hotel where I can bring 2 girls without a supplement charge (I've never done this before but might like to try) . Central location is essential (somewhere on or near second road). I would be grateful for any suggestions.
Thanks!
Try Jasmine hotel (a bit run down) on soi BJ across walking street.

Thanks! The sunshine hotel on soi 8 has two buildings, the old tower's elevator is 50 feet in front of reception and its easy to steer the girl directly into that elevator (or towards reception) if your staying in the old wing. I'm not sure but I think you have to walk past reception to get to the new wing's elevators. If you use google maps streetview you can see a set of stairs going down and around the pool area, this might take you the back way to the new wings elevators (but I never went that way) and completely bypass reception. The new wing elevator's on on the same level as the street, so if access can be had via those stairs you'd have to go down and then up again.

Don't know your budget but you might like to check out the Page 10 Hotel on Soi 10 close to second road. I stayed there last November and it was fantastic. I will be staying there again this November and can't wait. A little pricey at $60-65/ night, but it is a fancy 4 star quality GF Hotel. Don't think there is any back way in but the reception desk will take I'd and call your room for your approval to give her back I'd. I did see a fellow monger bring two girls back with him and all they did is grab the two I'd's at the reception desk. It is a quiet boutique hotel with decent breakfast, nice rooftop pool and a cool staff. Let me know if you would like any more info.

That is good info on Page 10. I've never stayed there but I have been inside and it is very nice. Somewhat luxurious. At the Beach Road end of Soi 10 are the Sea Me Spring and Sea Me Spring Too Hotels. The two Sea Mes are popular and often sell out. I've been to these three Soi 10 hotels and recommend all of them highly. They are a little pricier than most of the hotels we talk about on this thread but you can get rooms at these places for $50-$65. I prefer the Sea Me and Sea Me Too over the Page 10 because I prefer to be at the Beach Road end of Soi 10. The Sea Mes are also a little cheaper than Page 10.
I am surprised we don't talk about these hotels more.

I am surprised we don't talk about these hotels more.I was visiting a friend at Sea Me Spring last week, and the noise was very disturbing coming from the construction going on next door. From 8 to 5 every day, and it was no way to get away from it. The lady at the reception was very honest and told me that they had lost a great number of customers due to this noise. So Sea Me Spring should be avoided at the moment, but I don't know for how long.

I'm looking for a nice condo to rent for 1 month near Beach Road. Preferably between Beach Road and Second Road because I like to take my girls from Beach Road most of the time.
Any recommendations? I don't want to pay more than +/- 15.000 - 20.000 Bath (including everything like internet, maid service, electricity and water).
Must have:
- a comfortable queen size or king size bed.
- AC and / or fan.
- internet (WiFi or LAN-cable).
- at least 1 comfortable chair (not a rock hard desk chair!)
- TV.
- good shower.
- and preferably maid service (although daily is not necessary).
I have searched this thread and I have also googled but it's not easy to find what I'm looking for. Most of the condo's seem to be in Jomtien and I don't want to go there.
You can try this site. But your price range 'might' be a bit low but check them out. Located on 2nd road next to Central Festival.

http://www.condo6.com/If you want to stay at View Talay 6, Honey's is the best option. The best way to get a great rate it is to just show up and ask. You can negotiate, for example she charges less if you don't need daily cleanings. Rates are better if you book directly through her so that sites like Agoda don't get a cut.
Thanks a lot guys (Jgm005 and Sock111). Those web sites are much better.
All in all it's more expensive than I thought. Maybe I'll just ask my regular hotel for a discount.
By the way: does anyone know if the condo's in Talay 6 have internet?

I'm looking for a nice condo to rent for one month near Beach Road, preferably between Beach Road and Second Road. I want to pay 15000 to 20000 baht (including everything like internet, maid service, electricity and water). I have searched this thread and I have also Googled but it's not easy to find what I'm looking for.Assuming 30 days in a month, your price range works out to 500 to 667 baht per day. That's simply not realistic for a "nice condo" west of Second Road, especially if we're talking about an all-inclusive rate. As others have noted, *MAYBE* you *MIGHT* get lucky negotiating a walkup deal at the View Talay 6. (Probably in low season, for a studio unit on a low floor on the north side of the building facing the parking lot for the Central Mall next door.)
But otherwise, your budget is too low for lodging close to the beach, which always commands a premium.
I suggest expanding your search to the central part of town EAST of Second Road. There are several places along Soi Buakaow that specialize is "serviced apartments" where you can get a monthly rate: Diana Oasis, the Apartments and the R-Con Blue Serviced apartments. These serviced apartments are going to be less expensive than the condos closer to the beach. But be sure to read the fine print regarding charges for electricity, water, wi-fi, housekeeping and so forth. Also bear in mind these places are hugely popular with ex-pats and others who book far in advance. You need to do some very long range planning.
That said, I fear even serviced apartments are still out of your price range. For 500-700 baht per night, you'll probably have to book a guest house, or go farther east, say, between Soi Buakaow and Third Road. That is really a *VERY* tight budget when current Pattaya lodging prices are considered.
Bunky.

The Hotel Baraquda Pattaya is one of best around Pattaya and IMHO is at least a 5 star rated hotel. It is a lot bigger and fancier than Page 10. I have stayed there 3 nights and loved it. But, it is 3-4 times the cost of Page 10. Again, 3-4 times the cost per night. Page 10 is smaller and a better bang for the buck. On a not so modest 4-star or 3-star budget, Page 10 is your choice.

Yes Baraquda is more expensive than Page 10 but not by that much. In the past I booked Dusit D2 for 2. 500 THB per night w / o bf through ebookers.de using a 20% discount code and it's available at the rate for August as well (using MEHR15 as discount code). With these discount codes you can get the Baraquda for 2. 500 THB to 2. 800 THB per night. Page 10 usually starts at 1. 700 THB to 1. 800 THB.

Hello All,
I've been many times to Pattaya, usually for just a few days at a time. For those occasions I've used a variety of mid-range hotels. That was fine and I'll be happy to share that information with anyone that might benefit from my experiences.
Now, I find that I'll be in Pattaya on a work assignment for a little over two weeks. What I'd really like to find is a nice, centrally located serviced apartment where I would have a kitchen so that all meals did not have to be "out".
All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
SW.
I just booked Baraquda for three nights and I got it for Baht 2250/ nt! The only caveat is that cannot be cancelled and I had to pay upfront.

I'll be in Pattaya on a work assignment for a little over two weeks. What I'd really like to find is a nice, centrally located serviced apartment where I would have a kitchen so that all meals did not have to be "out".Take a look at the Whitehouse Condotel:
http://www.whitehousecondotel.com/
The location defines "centrally located." Soi 13, between Beach Road and Second Road. Steps to the naughty boy haunts on Soi LK Metro. Steps to the baht bus headed south to Walking Street. Steps to the baht bus headed north to Soi 6. That part of Soi 13 is surprisingly quiet and calm, with everything you'd ever need very very close by: laundry, food, bars, 7/11 etc.
Not all the rooms at the Whitehouse Condotel have a kitchen. But if you book a "Deluxe Suite Room" you'll have a full kitchen with everything you need to cook your own food. The views are poor, but the suites are big and comfortable. The rooftop pool is pretty nice as well.
There is a supermarket across the street in "The Avenue" shopping complex. It's a little pricey, but no matter what your taste you'll find the food you crave. The Whitehouse Condotel is also an easy walk to the Soi Buakaow market, which is is on the west side of that street, about 100 feet south of Soi 21. Here you can shop like a local at dozens and dozens of stalls selling local foodstuffs. If you head north on the baht bus, the "Big C" store is just a few minutes away at the corner of Second Road and Pattaya Central.
That said, I would respectfully submit that cooking for yourself is a false economy.
The Lek Hotel is literally across the street from the Whitehouse Condotel, home of the legendary breakfast and dinner buffets served up al fresco poolside. It's not haute cuisine. But for 150 baht do you care?
Looking to eat later in the evening? Most nights you'll find a noodle soup guy who sets up shop next to the Family Mart at the intersection of Soi 13/1 and Second Road, which is just around the corner from the Whitehouse. Order up a bowl and wash it down with a frosty brew while perched on a plastic stool among the locals.
If you fancy pub grub, check out the Swann Pub on Soi 13/1. Killer English breakfast, plus the usual favorites like fish and chips, all served in a comfortable dining room by cheerful and efficient staff.
And if you make your way back to the Soi Buakaow Market in the evening, there are at least a dozen stalls selling prepared food as well. The prices are absurdly cheap, and it's always fun to dine with the working girls! Try the salt-crusted fish roasted over a charcoal fire.
The PHOTOS are of Suite 215 at the Whitehouse Condotel.

Great thanks for a very informative post. Heading to LOS in November and just might end up there for a few days. One question: How would you rate the Whitehouse re the noise factor? Last time I was in Pattaya, I stayed at the Pasadena Lodge in the center of Soi LK Metro and quickly grew tired of the post-midnight bar noise and bass thumps emanating from the very nearby clubs, even though I was staying in a quite nice 6th floor room.

Can I assume that both the Pasadena Lodge, and the Whitehousecodontel are girl friendly?

I know from first hand experience that the Pasadena Lodge is girl friendly.

Bunky and I are the big Whitehouse Condotel fans here. Whitehouse is girl friendly. They will copy info from or take the girl's ID but that shouldn't bother you. In fact I like it. They may want to charge if you take two girls back but one girl is no problem.
As Bunky stated the Whitehouse is on a quiet section of of the soi 13. There is no construction noise and no noise from bars/gogos. The only noise issue is the clank clank of the girls high heels on the tile floor in the hallway. Soi 13 is a short soi which means you can walk to Beach Road in 3-4 minutes and Second Road in 1 minute. Every service imaginable 7-11, grocery, taxi, tours, laundry, currency exchange, Avenue Mall is within a 5 minute walk. Best location in Pattaya IMHO.

Thank you for the feedback regarding Pasadena Lodge and Whitehouse Condotel. Great information! My thanks too, booked the whitehouse for end of October after bunky's earlier comments, just a short stay (4 nights) before a longer stay in Bangkok and then off to Macau for the first time.
Beer waiting on the bar if you are in town then.

Maybe it is USD conversion to Baht, but Page 10 is quoted at $64 with breakfast before taxes and fees. Hotel Baraquda is $142 with breakfast before taxes and fees. With comparable rooms, that is at least double in my book, and you can also even get a more expensive room at Hotel Baraquda. But if you are looking for nice place in November, Page 10 is already booked solid. I am glad I have one of those rooms.
Good luck!
18.08. 14 - 19.08. 14.
Page 10 (Double w / o bf): 45 aka 1. 950 THB.
Page 10 (Double with bf): 49 aka 2. 100 THB.
Hotel Baraquda (Deluxe w / o bf): 50 aka 2. 150 THB.
How would you rate the Whitehouse re the noise factor? Last time I was in Pattaya, I stayed at the Pasadena Lodge in the center of Soi LK Metro and quickly grew tired of the post-midnight bar noise and bass thumps emanating from the very nearby clubs, even though I was staying in a quite nice sixth floor room. There is a beer bar on the northwest corner of Soi 13 and Second Road. It features a live band in the evening and draws a decent crowd. But you won't be disturbed at the Whitehouse Condotel. I stayed in a second floor suite that was at the front of the building (#215) and I never heard a thing from the beer bar, or any other street sounds for that matter. (Wish I could say the same for the Page 10, which is afflicted by a nearby beer bar where the AMPs are all set to 11, just like in "Spinal Tap.") In the interest of full disclosure: I sleep with the windows closed and the air conditioning on. If you opened the window walls I'm sure the streets sounds would be audible.
Another nice thing about the Whitehouse Condotel is that it caters to golfers, a group of guys who tend to retire early so that can start their rounds in the cool of the early morning. So unlike some other Pattaya hotels, you won't be disturbed by knuckleheads making a ruckus in the corridors or adjacent rooms. To the contrary, the evening vibe at the Whitehouse is most definitely on the down low. It's girl-friendly, natch. But my sense was that if you are the kind of guy who likes to party hearty you'd be more comfortable elsewhere. Whenever I returned for the evening with my dream date I found myself lowering my voice as I greeted the security guy and went through the formalities at the front desk.
Bunky.
Good luck!It has nothing to do with good luck. It's ok if you don't know how to find a cheaper rate, but do like no one else will be able to find them.
I got a chuckle out of your comment for when I use to stay there (have moved up the street to VT6), which was a lot of times, I got the same vibe. Quiet, do not disturb the sleeping golfers. Never heard any outside noise from any of the rooms I stayed in.
Snipped.

Hi,
I am visiting Pattaya first time for one week in second week of August. I would appreciate if anyone can suggest me some names of hotels taking into consideration following:
1. Price range or around 1000 baht.
2. 3-4 star category.
3. Near the beach road and other happening areas.
4. That allows girls.
5. Provides a safe in the room to keep my valuables like cash, etc.
Thanks
1. Price range or around 1000 baht; 2. 3-4 star category; 3. Near the beach road and other happening areas; 4. That allows girls; 5. Provides a safe in the room to keep my valuables. The second week in August is low season, so you can probably find a halfway decent place to stay for 1000 baht per night.
Go back 20 or 30 pages in this forum and read the reports. You'll see certain hotels are mentioned over and over. They are popular with the punters here for a reason. Google the hotel websites to learn more about them and to check rates.
NOTE WELL: As a first time visitor you need to learn the basics of Pattaya geography. There are numerous maps online, but I like the old-fashioned type because I can have that at my fingertips when I'm doing my online research. I like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Groovy-Map-n-Guide-Pattaya/dp/9745251135.
I recommend you stay in what's known as "Central Pattaya." This area is well-served by baht buses and convenient to the three main naughty boys haunts: Walking Street, Soi 6 and Soi LK Metro. (If you don't know where these are, you can learn by reading the Pattaya Reports forum and using your Groovy map.) Central Pattaya features every conceivable convenience you'd want during your holiday. If you are a Pattaya novice you can't go wrong staying there.
Look for lodging south of Central Pattaya Road (also known as Pattaya Klang), north of South Pattaya Road (aka Pattaya Thai), on or east of Beach Road and on or west of Soi Buakaow. Ground Zero is probably Second Road and Soi 13. If you use the hotel booking site called Agoda.com, you can filter the results to show only the hotels in Central Pattaya. Most of the hotels mentioned in this forum are in this zone. Hotels closer to the beach cost more, and the rates drop east of Second Road.
Once you have identified some hotels that sound promising, you can ask informed questions here that are *FAR* more likely to be answered than clueless new guy queries:
WRONG: I'm looking for a nice place that doesn't cost a lot. Any ideas?
RIGHT: Lounging poolside is one of my favorite holiday pastimes. Which hotel has a better pool, the Dusit D2 or the Page 10?
Good luck. Be sure to report on your holiday.

$Hi,
Any have some comments onthe Pattaya centerhotel? Its supposed to be guest friendly but also looks like a family hotel. I want to avoid the walk of same through a bunch of parents with their kinds.
Anyone been there.
The others I found suitable are Intimate Hotel or Jasmine hotel. I am looking for something around 75 US $ close to walking street.

Anyone been there.I have never been there but it is seldom reviewed on this board. I believe one review I read stated the hotel rooms were older and worn. I visited a friend at LK The Empress and I thought it was a great hotel. Excellent reviews here and on most other websites, GF, and great Beach Road location at Soi 12. Rooms were available on Agoda in September for about US $65. Sounds like a great deal to me. I would grab it. I suspect it is much nicer than Pattaya Centre Hotel. LK The Empress is almost right next to the Pattaya Centre Hotel.

If you need you can also bypass the front desk by cutting through the convenience store. The only disappointment was that the wifi was very spotty in my room, but worked well in the lobby.

Friends,
I'll be coming on 11th Aug. To Pattaya for my maiden journey and was hoping if some of the seniors could suggest some beach front girl friendly hotel close to the Walking street or Soi 6.
Criteria is close to the beach with a good view of the sea from the room / balcony and tariff of about 2 k per night.
Cheers!

I recently stayed at Page 10 which was good. Stay away from Sea me View in Soi 10. Construction going on right next door to it.
Picked up this one from Beach are. She usually hangs out between LK Empress & Soi 10.
Issan Lass, who is 46 and charged me 800 baht, as I wanted to take some photo & video.
800 baht well spent. Great session, ball licking, kissing, and great sex!
I saw her when I was in Pattaya at Easter and saw her again last week when I was there again.

We checked out after one night. It was not worth the money. There are many nicer hotels, around the same price. My current favorite is P72, right in the middle of walking street and reasonably priced at 900 baht per night, or roughly $30 USD. Soy 13 also has some decent hotels, Sandy Spring, White House Condo hotel, Dynasty Inn (and many nice hotels in nearby soy. As they say, RTFF.
Saw this one in WS last week. I wasn't looking for a pick up but when I saw her I knew I had to get my hands on those giant tits!!
And they were too 38 G.
She should be in Singapore by now, as she was doing Pattaya. BKK - Sing.

Cheers! It gets quite good reviews on tripadvisor: "Basic but clean", "large rooms", "Close to everything". Soem people complained about the noise from the local nightlife (it is above a bar) depending on the room.
As it is so close to WS and above a bar, I'd be surpised if it is not guestfriendly. To make sure, just ask them by email if they charge a joner fee, even when you book a room for 2.

I've stayed there once and it was good. Luxurious and very spacious rooms. A bit above my budget though. I believe I payed 2000 per night but that was around Christmas so the highest of high season.
