Haha. Maid service as in cleaning the condo apt 5 days a week.Supplementary maid service at VT6 includes changing the sheets and supplying clean towels every day Monday thru Friday. Maid service is not available on Saturday or Sunday. It is worth the nominal additional cost.

Haven, compare VT6 prices with a site like hotels.com. With hotels.com you get maid service 5 days per week plus bottled water refreshed daily. Maid service is so good I was doing dishes one day and she told me to watch TV while she took over the dish washing.
I also previously sent you a link to VT6 rentals that are imo cheaper than dancewatchers and they include free maid service every 3 days. Some of the condos have washer/dryer in the unit.

Take a look around because those rates are a little high for Thailand.
1000 baht for cleaning after the rental period? It should only be about 350 to clean the place and 250 for laundry. So there are charging 400 more.
Plus, if you pat 2,200 for 5 days cleaning 'during' your stay, how much cleaning is necessary when you leave? Not much.
IMO they are overcharging. (but it might be convenient for you).
It might be a better option to waive the so called standard maid services. Just pay after leaving.
Of course that means you will need to get the sheets and towels cleaned every so often (depending on how long you stay).
Hi and if I may, please some other question re View Talay 6 condos rental through the Dance Watchers company?
I have been advised that there is a 1000 TBH cleaning and laundry charge at the end of the rental period, a 2,200 TBH fee for standard maid services for the entire rental period, a 300 TBH fee for VAT for the rental period, and 450 TBH is deducted from the Pay Pal deposit (I assume that is a pass through of the Pay Pal fee that they have to pay Pay Pal.
Appreciate any one who has used Dance Watchers who can confIrm the above?
Thanks in advance as I have not used a condo apartment in Asia before (only in Europe and Latin America).
Came across this hotel somewhere, when researching inexpensive guest-friendly hotels in Pattaya. The picture is from their own website. 5555.

Every picture tells a story, don't it?Its good to see such ancient looking geezers. Late 60's to 75, I guess. Makes me feel somewhat young, relatively, having reasonable amounts of hair colour remaining (without dying).
Looks like two of them had LT girl stay to breakfast. Girls look slightly pudgy, short and a bit older to suit ancient guys. I guess they would not post sex bomb looking girls.
What is going on behind guy in the cheque shirt? Fingers on his head? Is it a reflection or Ghost or what? Can anyone make sense of that? Maybe reflection of someone taking the photo?
Take a look around because those rates are a little high for Thailand.

Unfortunately, just an hour before I saw your posts I already transferred the money via Pay Pal for the booking.
BTW, the reservation cost is for 16 nights. So, excluding weekends something like 12 nights for 2200 BTH or about 190 TBH per day for maid service.
Well, perhaps I am paying more than I should (and I already had a reservation pretty much across at the Bayview in the tower premium category with full Buffett breakfast, which I will now cancel as it is fully refundable through Travelocity.) See my post from a few days ago, when I started this request for input and suggestions.
I will keep you guys updated on my experience with this rental company for VT 6 , so that it can be an additional data point for other interested visitors to Pattaya. But, I don't arrive for almost another 2 months. .
Cheers!
Hi, everyone,
Thank you for the recent discussion on VT6. I am planning to visit Pattaya for the first time next month and have booked the Intimate Hotel by Tim Boutique. Based on the discussion here, I looked up View Talay on Booking.com and found two companies listing it: vtsix and "Honey". And then there are the other companies listed in the thread here. Does anybody know or have experience using it through Booking.com? I was wondering if it was no different than booking through private sites or if Booking.com would make it easier? I did a cancellable reservation on Booking.com through VTSix and it sent me a phone number to call to arrange for keys etc. This is a little more hassle than I was expecting. But then, I've never actually done a condo / apt / sharing type reservation. Do you have to call and wait for someone to bring keys when you get there?
I wonder if I should just stick to hotels. Agoda had some bad reviews for Intimate and there was talk here of the excellence of View Talay, so I thought I might shop around a bit. I still a bit unsure as to which area to based in. I was in Phuket in December and enjoyed spending time in bars with girls. So I like the "entertainment" factor in addition to finding girls for LT / ST. I plan to be there for around 6 nights.
Any advice will be appreciated!
I have always booked through "Honeys". I would imagine even if you booked through BOOKING.COM you are adding one layer on the full booking process. Your still going to have to pick up the keys, etc at Honeys (speculation).

As for Dancewatchers. I use to book directly through them but stopped.

Thanks.
I have always booked through "Honeys". I would imagine even if you booked through BOOKING.COM you are adding one layer on the full booking process. .Now, when you put it like that, it does seem like another layer. I thought maybe things might have been easier. May I ask, how it works through Honeys? This is a coffee place next to VT6, and you get keys, etc. From there? I guess, if they're there all the time, that simplifies things. Do they take advancement payment? Credit cards are out of the picture, I assume?
(I always stay at hotels, so this is a bit new to me. Thank you for your help!

Booking.com makes you call someone to bring you a key? I booked through hotels.com. Walked in VT6, went to the sales office or whatever it's called, said checking in, nice girl walks me through the complex showing me everything, comes up to my condo, looks around to make sure everything is up to mine and their standards, takes out 2 bar stools that look a bit beat up and tells me I will have 2 new ones in a few hours, and off she goes. I even checked in early at 1 pm.
VT6 may be a condo and not a hotel but from my experience it was no different than checking into a hotel, at least with hotels.com.
No matter which hotel you book ALWAYS book with free cancellation you never know when plans may change.
So, JGM may I please ask why you stopped booking directly through Dance Watchers because I just booked with them today a few hours ago?
Thanks.Dance watchers will do right by you.
I stopped because I found Honeys started renting condos (use to go into her Coffee Shop and always use her laundry service when I booked through D/W). I do not know the status of Dancewatchers for it has been a very long time but Honeys office is just 3 m past VT 6 elevators. More convenient, personable and no cleaning fee upon departure.
She, Honey, has laundry service, coffee shop and to the right of the coffee shop is now her rental office.
Now, It has been a year since I last stayed in VT6 so maybe things have changed.

No matter which hotel you book ALWAYS book with free cancellation you never know when plans may change.I recently rented a room in one of the newer theme oriented condo complexes in the Jomtien area. Same thing happened to me with a condo. I had never seen anything like it before. Luckily I had my Thai girlfriend with me at the time. This particular booking was through Agoda. We went into the front office, tried to check in. Come to find out the front office doesn't handle this stuff, but the later starts flipping through a book with owners and somehow finds the owner of the place we rented. We call, no answer. Leave a message. A lot of back and forth and then the key magically shows up at the service desk in the building we were staying in and we go over there, get the key and finally check in. I don't know what was in the hour and a half of back and forth because it was all in Thai, but I know it was a big hassle for me and I'm not keen on renting any condos like this in Pattaya in the future. Great deal on the place though Only downside was the bathroom faucet was hooked up to 220 somehow and I got fried any time I turned the water on or off. Typical Thai building standards. Oh, there are no standards.
Dance watchers will do right by you.

I will meet her and try to take a look at her condos and prices for my next visit which might be in October. By October, 2016, staying at VT6 may be very different with the Kantary Hotel Pattaya construction scheduled to begin this Summer from what I understand. It will be noisy and most rooms in VT6 will lose their sea views forever.
Before you start your journey, remember to contact your host at +66 xxxxxxxxx to find out exactly where to pick up your keys.
Call the number. This may as simple as them telling you which office you pick up your key at on the main floor.

Any other recommendations similar to VT 6 in location, quality and prIce? Great wifi speed / quality, and great big glass walk in shower, and overall quality (with daily maid service) are my top things.

I have an update regarding VTSix booking procedures on Booking.com. I previously had received Booking.com note asking to call to find out about key collection procedures. I e-mailed them using Booking's e-mail delivery system (all e-mails go through Booking). I got a fairly prompt reply as follows.
"For check-in, we have reception-cum-lobby; open 24-hours. Its in the front, as you will enter the Building, the very first reception-cum-lobby, you need to check-in."So, this seems fine then. I'm assuming front is second road entrance - 2nd floor I assume?
I think I've almost decided to stay at VT6 using these guys. For an extra $140 I can upgrade to high floor sea view studio. Thinking about that. On the one hand, I'm worried about getting some partial sea view and not getting anything out of the extra funds. On the other hand, I feel "go enjoy that view before they build towers in front of it. ".
Does anybody think Intimate Hotel may be a better choice given: I like central location, wifi, breakfast, nice rooms / building, low noise, and no-smoking? Both options have almost same price but for $40 difference (in total for a week). Standard studio at VT6 vs deluxe room at Intimate.

Sea view facing Pattaya sign or bust at VT6. This will not be an option in the future. If you don't get a sea view you can stay at any other hotel.

The nearby Apex Hotel and Lek Hotel have breakfast buffets for 150 Baht. And if you buy 10 coupons at once it's only 110 Baht per breakfast. So it might be cheaper to book a room without breakfast.

Me and 4 of my friends are taking a trip to Pattaya May 11-18. We are looking for a good place to stay. Somewhere close to all the action, and that allow "guest". We would like to get a place with multiply bedrooms where we can all a stay in one house. Do you all have any suggestions, or places I can look?
Was a nice hotel 'chain' with 2 pools and three seperate buildings, close to the action of LK Metro. Getting a girl into the hotel was a breeze, no issues raised at the front desks. Rooms were nice but I found most of the poolside users to be in the senior citizens age range. Ruins the mood when the lady sitting next to you is telling her 80 something husband that she can't carry her air mattress back to the room and then the conversation turns to their friend who lost his shoes. In the heart of pussyland and there's so many old folks on oxygen. I won't stay here again although the location was pretty good.

I am planning to be in Pattaya for 15 days in August. I would be coming alone. August is supposed to be low season for hotel booking and hotels seems to offer great discount during this time. I want to know, whether booking hotel now for August is better or should I wait till July end to avail discounts?

Seriously though, remember hotels are guest friendly only if your a single guy staying in a room booked for two people. If you book two people into a two person room, then hotels will charge extra for each guest you bring back to the room.

Any pointers. Can I ask how you 'zeroed' in on Sun Xclusive? If you have indeed 'zeroed' in on this hotel, surely you would have checked on the guest-friendliness policy of the hotel and its distance from Walking Street. Or did you just throw a dart on the map?
Anyway, addressing your questions, the hotel appears to be a short distance from Walking Street. 8 minutes according to Google Maps (heard of this?
All hotels in Pattaya are guest friendly and this has been repeated on this thread several times over.
Read some reviews of this hotel on popular hotel booking sites, they are not very encouraging.

The hotel prices do not vary much from May until the end of October. Personally, I stay about 3 x as long and have not had a problem at getting a good rate. I also speak Thai which allows me to "go native" as it were. REMEMBER. That time frame is at the height of the rainy season.

I will be in Pattaya for the first ten days of April. I am in Bangkok now but wanted to visit there before my 60 day visa expires. It would be my second trip as I also visited last March for a week. On that occasion, I stayed at the Baraquda, which is a fine hotel but more than I want to pay this time. The rooms are also small for a long stay.
I have been looking for apartments and / or studios either near Beach Road, Walking Street or both primarily focusing on AIR BnB properties. It seems a lot of these rentals listed are inexpensive hotels or tiny and dated studios. They are a bit expensive too for what's offered but may ask for a discount.
Nevertheless, I wanted to know if there are any suggestions as to where I can find a serviced apartment for ten days? As an add-on, I may return in May for a month with a renewed 30 day visa so need a place for a 30 day duration.

Look for VT6 http://www.honeyscoffeehouse.com/ http://www.dancewatchers.com/.FYI, after a lot oF advice from this board, I just recently booked for about 2. 5 weeks at View Talay 6 through Dance Watchers. The condos in this building are all privately owned units and there are several rental management agnecies who manage this rental business for the owners.
From my research the rate is a lot better if you are booking for a minimum of 1 month, so that is something surely that will work for you in May. For the 10 day trip, I would also consider booking via one of the booking companies, like Travelocity, for example, who offer free cancellation upto 24 hours before arrival, at many of the hotels, some of which have 1 bedroom suites, in Pattaya. But the apartments owned by individual owners as in VT6, are generally not available via the booking sites.
Dance Wacthers, for example, adds on for daily maid service etc. , and there is also a one time move out cleaning fee. And you have to pay a significant deposit via Pay Pal which is non refundable. So, make sure you are confident in your dates before going with one these VT6 rental agencies. Good Luck.

Thanks in advance.Baraquda is guest friendly and I assume Mercure is as well. I can't recall if Mercure has ocean views or not. If the prices are the same I would select Baraquda because of its outstanding Second Road location. I have never stayed at LK The Empress on Beach Road at Soi 12 but it has a great reputation, is girl friendly, and is probably a little cheaper than your two choices. I would have a look at that if I were you as well.

I received the answer from the MERCURE:
"Also for the visitor fee we charge 500. -/ person / night. ".
So it's guest friendly, but it has a cost.

BARAQUDA: definitly guest-friendly:
"For guest policy, kindly be informed that we haven't charge any visitor fee but for security reason, ID card or passport is needed to be given to receptionist for clarify and registration. ".
I received more clarification about the MERCURE:
"Yes, if you book 2 adults we have charge for visitor 500. -/ person / night.
But if you book 2 adults and you stay 1 adult you can bring visitor to your room free not charge. ".
Conclusion: MERCURE guest-friendly, but threesome will result in 500 THB / night fee.
Actually: you can see that on the hotel description LMAO!!!!!

I really liked the LK Metropole. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I did have a suite with two bedrooms so I was able to bring back loads of girls during my two night stay. The bellman was also pretty down so I could always ask him to get me girls if I was feeling lazy. He has a flyer for massage girls you can pick from. Breakfast was OK. I only ate their breakfast once because I was extremely busy fucking the entire time I was here. Oh, and the laundry service was also very good and inexpensive. The girls that work in the restaurant are also pretty hot and friendly.

Is there any decent girlfriendly hotel in a quiet area with not more than, say ten minutes walking distance to central Pattaya? This is really important as I don't want any noice when I sleep. Sure, I always use ear plugs when sleeping, but a quiet are is desirable nevertheless. It's also crucial that the beds are quite soft. Is there such a hotel available in Pattaya?

The good: It literally is about a 100 second walk to the beginning of Walking Street and 30 seconds to the Baht Bus. Price was very reasonable. For being so close to the action, it was super quiet. I am very sensitive to outside noise and I didn't need any earplugs at all. The room its self was solid. Nothing new, but nothing broken either. Small, but I liked the layout with the toilet separate from the shower. All of the staff were very nice. I also liked the safe deposit box, but it was somewhat inconveniently located down stairs instead of in the room.
The Bad: The towels all smelled like mold. They came in right from room service smelling like 2 week old rags that had been sitting in an old tub. Come on here, get a dryer for the place. Second, the place was kind of dirty. Not nasty in a disagreeable sense, but for example a lot of dust on things and the halls and elevator had splash marks like someone's soda splashed on them. This place could easily have been cleaned up if they just wiped down the elevator and walls once a week. Also, tiles were missing from the wall leaving the glue spots and this was right next to the elevator so you had to stare at it while waiting for the elevator. Last, don't believe the pictures in Agoda. They make the place look much newer than it is. The bed sheets were very well worn and showed it. The material was badly pilling up.
Other thoughts: It had a nice looking pool and a TV but I never used either. The AC cooled well, but it always seemed either too cold or too warm.
Final thoughts: Was it worth it with all things considered? This would not be my first choice next time I return, however I would stay here again in a pinch. If the action is all that concerns you, this place is perfect for that.

For being so close to the action, it was super quiet. We get a lot of requests here for hotel recommendations at Walking Street since that is ground zero for first timers to Pattaya. In most cases a hotel near the heart of the action is preferable. Pattaya is an exception. I think Walking Street is a bad place to stay. Hotels are not as nice and Walking Street is almost closed during the day. Any hotel between Soi 12 and Walking Street is super close to the heart of the action. Access to banks, ATMs, restaurants, convenience stores, and shopping is better away from Walking Street. With the baht buses in Pattaya, you can stay as far north as Soi 2 and still be close and get around easily and cheaply.
The best hotel locations are at or very near to either Second Road or Beach Road IMHO.
Is there such a hotel available in Pattaya?Maybe this is a first trip for you?
I suggest soi 10, this is between beach and second Road. No bars, quiet, think there is a eastiny hotel and sure a couple others.
Close to both central mall & transportation.

Yes, soi10 have some nice hotel and no bars, but what about building construction? I remember some construction sites in this soi.Don't stay at the Mercure Pattaya, as there are constructions now right in front of it, and just in front of the beautiful swimming pool.
I wanted to stay there, but prefered the Baraquda for April.
Friends of mine told me that Whitehouse Condotel and Inn House both on soi13 are very quiet. No bars on soi13, so I think all hotel in the soi are quiet.
I've stayed in a couple of hotels on Soi13: MaMaison, Whitehouse Condotel and Sandy Spring, and I liked all of them for their quietness. However apparently the new Hooters on the corner of Beach Road and Soi13 has a band that plays outside on the rooftop until circa 2 am and has made that end of the Soi noisy and harder to sleep before 2 am. Maybe others with more recent experience in the last 3 months or so can comment?
Yes, soi10 have some nice hotel and no bars, but what about building construction? I remember some construction sites in this soi.I remember hearing about a loud bar next to the Page 10 hotel on Soi 10. I wanted to book Sea Me or Sea Me Too on Soi 10 for my upcoming May trip. Their websites warn of construction noise. That did it for me. I'll stay at Whitehouse or maybe try LK The Empress.

Hey guys,
Am planning a trip to Pattaya next month and was wondering if anyone could give me a review of Galaxy Suites, located above the Heavens above ago go. It's quoting 790 B and is cash only so suits my budget and needs.
Would also be kind enough to give me good options as per the below requirements /.
1. Budget hotels or suites (Less than 900 B / day inclusive of electricity and all other things.).
2. Secure and manned reception to take the ID for my guests.
3. Girl friendly of course.
4. Close to Walking Street.
I know I could have put these up on agoda or trip advisor as filters, but then again I would not get advice from my Mongering brothers there. I have already RTFF but could not zoom down to any thing concrete.
Any help would be appreciated (and a beer if we meet in Pattaya).
Cheers,
J

Close to both central mall & transportation. There's a beer bar complex at the corner of Second Road and Soi 10, so any hotel nearby is not quiet. That includes Page 10 and Eastiny.
At the other end of the soi, towards Beach Road and the Sea Me Spring hotels, there's construction work going on. So it's also not quiet at the moment.
Friends of mine told me that Whitehouse Condotel and Inn House both on soi13 are very quiet. No bars on soi13, so I think all hotel in the soi are quiet.Soi 13 is indeed quiet for the most part. However there's a beer bar at the corner of Second Road and Soi 13 (Wonderful Bar 1). It's quite popular and has a (loud) live band playing almost every night.
The Whitehouse and Inn House are very close but they are (relatively) quiet as long as you don't have a room facing the soi or Second Road.
The same applies to the Dynasty Inn Hotel that's next to the Whitehouse. A very good hotel but try to get a room at the back side.

It's seems difficult find a quiet and cheap hotel in Pattaya center. For me isn't an issue because I always stay on Pratamnak Hill and drive my motorbike around, but if I had to stay in Pattaya center I honestly do not know where to go for quiet place and I mean all room have to be quiet, not looking only for back side of the hotel.
Thanks for all your advice guys, I'll remember them when I make my travel plans for this summer.

Close to both central mall & transportation.Yes, it'll be my first trip to Thailand if I go there this summer. I'm trying to choose between Pattaya, Philippines, or a tour through Germany, but since I've to Germany and visited several FKK clubs, Asia and especially Pattaya seems to be the next natural destination to explore new pastures green for mongering.

Recently I stayed for 9 nights in "Premier Inn" which is located on Soi 15 2nd Road. It's very near to Pattaya Avenue (30 meters) & Beach road within walking distance (max 300 meters). There is a 7-11 near by (10 meters), Laundry (40 meters) and everything you need.
The hotel is well built with all required amenities and completely guest friendly. Their service and room quality is really good for the price you will pay for it ($35-40). They claimed to be a 3 star hotel & they god damn deserve it.
It's completely separated from the night life noise and lots of food options available near by. There is a motor taxi stands in front of the hotel gate 24 x 7 and in case it's not available you can get enough motor taxis at just 20 meters distance. You can walk down to 2nd road (50 meters) to catch a baht bus if you want.
It's a really nice hotel & to get best rates book them as early as possible. Now since it's off season you can get a room for a nice bargain. Their WiFi is really awesome & fast. They have a roof tom swimming pool which is also awesome.
I hope this much info will be enough for somebody to get a brief idea of the hotel. Still you need any specific info, feel free to ask me. Good luck.
N. B. -Sometimes you'll find a decent amount of Chinese customers in this Hotel. If you want a calm & cool room better ask them for a room in a floor where Chinese customers aren't staying.

I stayed at VT6 3 nights 2 weeks ago. I booked a room from Honey, 50 m2 King Room with Sea View. They gave me an upgrade to a bigger room at the sea facing end of the building on 27th (top) floor with no extra fee. The view from the room was great but the room itself was very sterile and plain. The building is very large full of apartments and shops & cafeterias downstairs. Hot like hell inside. The swimming pool is large and there is some wind to cool things down. Otherwise the pool area is boring with no bar or other facilities. But hey, this is a condo pool. The construction on the site next to VT6 is quiet at the moment.

Last week was my second stay at Areca. Last year the hotel was OK IMO. This year it sucked. The place is getting rundown. And the clientele was mostly old western people, dead atmosphere. They are building new condos around the pool area. You wake up in a Hilti noise every morning, which sucks big time. The hotel lobby and breakfast room is hot like a sauna, no aircon. The swimming pool water feels like it has been boiled and there is no wind at the pool to cool you down. Pure hell.
Still some nice views available in the room.

Some primary views from my room attached.Hey, FF. When you say ' hot like hell inside' do you mean inside the apt? Was there no AC inside the apt? I'm going to be staying there in about 4-5 weeks (for about 2. 5 weeks) and I need it to be cold when I sleep! LOL! I booked mine through Dance Watchers though. Also, my unit says it has a large 18,000 BTU AC unit...I sure hope it will cool it down to about 68 F which is my minimum desired temp for sleeping! Lol

Hey, FF. When you say ' hot like hell inside' do you mean inside the apt? Was there no AC inside the apt?Of course there is AC in the rooms. Otherwise you would be roasted slowly like a suckling pig. I meant it was hot inside the building; in the corridors, elevators etc.

Part of the reason I plan to limit myself to air conditioned soapie or massage places during the day, and hit the discos with excellent AC late at night.
Any recommendations on places with the best AC? Yeah, I hate the humidity. Heat I can handle. It will be May when I am there. Thanks.

Sandy Spring Hotel on Soi 13 off Beach Road is quite nice. But a new problem has arisen. I had a nice beach view room with a clear line of sight to the beach and a clear "line of sound" to the newly opened Hooters on Beach Road. Very loud; very late. Just a heads up for those of you that prefer a little peace and quiet.

Any recommendations on places with the best AC? Yeah, I hate the humidity. Heat I can handle. It will be May when I am there. Thanks. It does seem that many of the hotels have open hallways which are left unconditioned.
The main problem I have with AC is that in nearly all of the hotels I have visited in Chaing Mai, Pattaya, Phuket and even a modern, top hotel in Bangkok is that you need your room key in order to turn on the electricity and, hence, the AC. So, when you enter your room it will be hot and humid. To cool it, you must insert your key into a slot in order to turn on the lights and the AC. When you leave the room, plan on coming back to a hot and humid room when you return.
The keys are generally attached to a small FOB-like thing which contains a magnet. My solution to the power issue is to bring along a small magnet taped to a Popsicle stick (no more 1/4" thick, or 2. 5 mm) that will fit in the slot. (This won't work for the more upscale hotels that use key cards however. You may be able to ask for a second card though.) When I leave my room, and after the room has been made up by the maids, I leave the magnet in the slot and the AC stays on, so when I return, the room is comfortable. OK, this is not being very green, but waiting in a hot room for the things to cool down is not cool.

Has anyone stayed at the Sexy In The City guest house on Soi 6 and, if so, would you recommend it? On the surface it sounds great - 24 hour bar, good Wifi, AC, 900 baht. But it'd be great to hear of the experiences of others before booking.

OK, this is not being very green, but waiting in a hot room for the things to cool down is not cool.In guesthouses which have a simple card separated from the key I leave it in the slot. But I do that for practicality only and I don't like the thing in my pocket and I don't leave A / see on for more than 10 minutes when leaving the room. It's just not "right".

I've stayed in Sandy Spring before and I liked it, their Deluxe Sea View room was very good value considering the view. It's a real pity these rooms have more or less been spoiled by the noise from Hooters, I read about this recently also on trip advisor. I'll have to consider another hotel for my upcoming trip in June.
I stayed at LK The Empress and was very impressed. It was nice, clean, and had a friendly staff. The breakfast buffet had everything (light on what Americans would consider breakfast food though). It was very tasty though. It's a short walk to almost everything. I will definitely repeat.

Anyone have any booking problems with Hotels.com? Typically a friend makes a reservation for me at the place I stay at in Pattaya. However this time the said friend isn't around, and I booked the place through the hotels.com website. I was wondering if I should call and check with the hotel if they have my booking. The only problem with this is that they are very unlikely to understand English esp over a long distance call where hand gestures and reservation confirmation slip can't be shoved in the other guys face.

Hi folks,
Can anyone recommend decent hotels in or around walking Street with no joiner fees? That depends on your definition of "decent"!
Pretty much all hotels in Pattaya and certainly those close to WS will allow 1 girl to join you without a fee if you booked the room for double occupancy. But whether these hotels fit your definition of "decent" I cannot say.
Last time I was at Hardrock Hotel and they had pretty high joiner fees. Similar hotels or maybe 1 star lower is my definition of 'decent'.
Please let me know if you have any recommendations.

Can anybody suggest for walk-in?As these are rented units and the people (like Dancewatchers) are only agents for the owners, I doubt if they even have the authority to discount the units for "walk-in".
In any case, it was my experience that the nice units go quickly and you better book beforehand.
As someone who has booked with both Dancewatchers and Honey's coffee shop I would not be a 'walk in'. You might go to each of their web sites and look at the dates you might 'walk in' and see what is available at the time you look.

I'm considering using Dancewatchers. Do they provide any free maid service or do you have to book through Tik? Other VT6 rental companies provide free maid service every 1-3 days, depending on which company.
I'm considering using Dancewatchers. Do they provide any free maid service or do you have to book through Tik? Other VT6 rental companies provide free maid service every 1-3 days, depending on which company.Tik is Dancewatchers! She has about 13 apts in VT 6 she manages for the owners. There are several other rental mgmt companies at VT 6. I only know Dancewatchers though.
And, no maid service I'd additional. They only provide maid service Monday. Friday. The package I originally chose only had sheets changed once a week. Upon arrival when I discovered that I upgraded yo having sheets and comforters changed every other day, with a larger supply of fresh towels on Friday to last me over the weekend. I think exact prices vary and are based on how many days you are renting. I was renting for 16 nights and frankly I don't remember the exact price because I thought it was inconsequential. YMMV.
Note though that laundry is not included and they would not take it down for me to one of two laundry companies on the 3RD floor (I used the one by the elevator and a weeks worth of laundry was about 500 baht. I also rented a local Samsung basic Thai phone for 500 baht for the 16 nights, as I did not want to deal with getting a SIM and putting money on it etc. So it came all done and I just needed to know the number.
Everything has been as advertised so far and I am very happy.
I have finalized Jasmine hotel for 5 nights. This will be my first stay over there. Any feedback on this hotel.
VT 6 is going out of budget.
Greetings, Wonder if anyone has stayed at either of these higher-end properties recently, and am soliciting advice. Assume any place in Patts is GF (though these places seem to be more "family friendly", I won't be availing myself of the breakfast buffet, so no walk of shame that way. Alternately, if anyone has a suggestion for something closer to the action in the same category, that'd be great. Only saw a 2012 reference to the Centara Grand, then called a new hotel. Many thanks,

I don't mean it is far, maybe a short baht bus ride, but the walk for the lobby to the roundabout is already a bit of walk, nothing dramatic, but add here and there. I don't see it as a mongering hotel from a location POV.

I have read the Dusit is one of the few hotels in Pattaya that is not girl friendly. It would be hard to make a recommendation without knowing your budget. If you are looking for something right on the beach check the Hilton, Wave, LK The Empress, and View Talay 6 if you want a condo. I just booked Hotel Baraquda which is allegedly a 5 star Sofitel branded place. Excellent 2nd Road/Soi 13 location. I may switch over to VT6 if I decide I need the ocean view.

Many thanks,Yep, Barraquda Hotel rocks! I've been there one month ago. Ask for a room with jacuzzi. You may enjoy it with 4 parties inside (I tried and was fun). You can even call the hotel at 2 am and ask them to fill in the jacuzzi with water (it takes time).
When I arrived 30 mn later, a groom was standing in front of the opened door, watching for both the jacuzzi and us arriving. Wow! That's service!
See my previous msg one month ago about it with a link to pictures of the room.

See my previous msg one month ago about it with a link to pictures of the room.Appreciate the advice, and warning about Dusit Thani. I'm not a first-timer, and I absolutely wouldn't want non-GF. Actually got a bit of hassling at the Hard Rock a few years back, even though I booked a double and they attempted to extract a joiner fee. With Dusit and Centara, I'm aware that the location far north is not ideal, but I have stayed in further-flung places like Jomtien, so I am aware of the transit issue and assume those are quite a ways off the baht bus route. So. Baraquda looks like it might fit the bill. It's on Agoda with availability in October (when I'll be there) at about USD 87 with no cancellation penalty (no breakfast; the upcharge to the next level with that king room is ridiculous, unless someone could advise that the food is scrumptious). The Sofitel website itself has got the hotel at $377, nonrefundable and no breakfast. Insane. Perhaps the Thai business model has infected corporate HQ in Payree. Cheers -- and thanks again.

I've always kept the Baraquda Pattaya in the back of my mind if I didn't have a nice place one night and needed a very nice hotel for a special girl. Anything with the Sofitel label has to be first class.

Just walk out the hotel door and you can hail a baht bus. Centara is further away.
I just booked the Baraquda for B3100++ including breakfast. Arriving in about 10 days. I could get Baraquda and an ocean view room at LK Empress for the same price. The Ocean view room didn't have a balcony. I love the ocean view but without a balcony I picked the Quda. May try VT6 for a few days also.

Service, reception, end concierge are first class. Food is very good. When I ate there, I was offered 30% discount on the meals, I still don't know why, but the waiter insisted! Well, You can't refuse that.
They keep ID of joiners. No joiners fee. And they call you in the room to check everything is ok before giving the ID back to the girl when she leaves.
The suites with jacuzzi are just unbelievable!
Great location, good value for money. Central Featival Mall, with grocery store and very large food court with tremendous food/ cuisine options a big plus. Expect to pay about $70 a night for a studio, min.
3rd floor laundry and some Masaage places make for a nice full service building, if you go for maid service options. Huge number of massage places right outside on 2nd Rd.
50 baht by moto taxi to Walking Street and 100 baht, if you are returning with company in the early am. Taxi to WS 150 baht. Return in the early am (when it was raining) by taxi was 200 Baht.

Good evening friends, my next visit to Pattaya in on June last week. Need few suggestions. In my last visit I stayed at the LK Metropole. I do not have anything to complain about it. But I'm thinking to change the hotel this time. Last time we three friends took individual (three separate rooms) so that.
We can have our own timings and plan. I'm little bit confused this time whether to have same plan or rent a villa?
The would it be fine to rent a villa with three separate bedrooms as my friends suggest we can party with a group of chicks who we befriended last time on one day or two. My stay in Pattaya would be for 4 nights.
So I just need this piece of advice.
1) I'm getting a good deal of around 2 k baht for a superior room with jetted tub and city view at the LK empress. I found this to be good deal. I need someone who has been in the near past in LK empress to review about it?
2) is there any villa option with 3 bed rooms and a pool for 7 to 10 k baht nearby the main action area (to say second road or central Pattaya)? If anyone has used something like that, kindly suggest with a review of the facilities?
3) if not LK empress, can someone suggest a similar good hotel in 2 to 2.5 k baht per day in central Pattaya or second road?
Thank you,
Stallion
Nice budget hotels like around 200 for 2 weeks around Soi Buakhao?
Bangkok good budget hotel near Nana hotel and Climax nightclub where I have never been. You are going to have a hard time finding "nice" accommodations for what equates to 700 baht per night. Asking repeatedly will not change that. But I will offer a couple of Pattaya suggestions to help out a punter:
http://secretspattaya.com/secrets-hotel/rooms-and-rates/
http://www.lekhotel.com/accommodation/standard/
And FWIW you asked a similar type question in the following ISG forums: Pattaya Hotels; Tanzania; Mombasa; Lima. Hotel Recommendations; Morocco; Medellin Report; Quito; Nairobi; Ivory Coast; Dominican Republic Sosua Reports; Jakarta. Hotels; Ho Chi Minh City. Bars and Clubs; and Peru General Info.
Actually I think you need a travel agent.

Has anyone stayed at the Sexy In The City guest house on Soi 6 and, if so, would you recommend it? On the surface it sounds great - 24 hour bar, good Wifi, AC, 900 baht. But it'd be great to hear of the experiences of others before booking.Since it seems no-one has stayed here, I'll give some feedback after my recent stay.
SITC is located on Soi 6 and is well known as a popular bar with short time rooms upstairs. The rooms being rented out are spacious and clean and a completely separate class to the short time rooms. One benefit of staying there is that you're right in the middle of all the Soi 6 fun. One of the drawbacks of staying there is you're right in the middle of all the Soi 6 fun. Generally the bar (and the others on Soi 6) quieten down around 1 am so, on the whole, noise wasn't an issue for me as I think there was only one night in which I came back to my room before that time. However, there was one night there were customers downstairs and the music continued on until 3 am. AJ, the bar manager, is a very personable guy and a good host. On the price front, I thought 900 baht / night was a bit high when compared to what else is available in the same sort of area and also on Sois 7 and 8. I enjoyed my stay there but would probably be looking for somewhere a little cheaper and quieter next time.

They claimed to be a 3 star hotel & they god damn deserve it.I trusted in you and was not let down! I was thumbing through the Pattaya Apartments thread and stumbled upon the sentence above. I did a google search, filled out all of the info on booking.com, and got to within one click of booking. I then read the rest of your post and hit "reserve".
I am happy with the decision. The room is a little small (but sufficient) with a queen sized bed, small couch, and a small counter. Everything was as you described with a swimming pool and gym. The gym has no weight machines but has a bunch of free weights and treadmills as well. They are currently running a deal, 3 nights for the price of 2. The daily rate is only $35 usd not including breakfast. I am going to be here for 4 days so that's $105 usd for 4 days.
The hotel is girl friendly and they register each girl at the front desk. I haven't had any girls so I can't say if they allow multiple girls at one time or per night.
MusicalBob, one sentence inspired me. Thanks again!

FYI,
Stayed at the Page 10 on soi 10 and some of the reviews on Trip advisor was relevant like inconsistent hot water availability.
Overall stay was better than satisfactory.
Breakfast was ok but not much selection.
Requested room on back side of hotel so can't comment if noise from beer bar was obtrusive. Beer bar has a Thai show and other side of beer bar had live soft rock music.
Room would not past American safety standards (OSHA) but this is not America LOL.
Overall service by maintenance and room service was great. When checking in found out my balcony door was broken and expected to be charged for it but wasn't.
Front desk was just satisfactory. Got more help from travel agency 50 yards down the road for non-mongering touristy attractions. English speaking and very helpful. She took us around in her personal POV.
Also don't use Hotel laundry as at the end of soi 10 near beach road there is a laundry shop.
Will try Stay Hotels next time.

Great people of the forum I need great assistance.
9 years since I was first time in Pattaya and there for ten months just on holes.
Nice budget hotels like around 200 for 2 weeks around Soi Buakhao?
Bangkok good budget hotel near Nana hotel and Climax nightclub where I have never been.
Lima Peru budget hotels or apartments same price or similar?
Yes I still decide these places where to go.I'm a bit surprised one chose a mongering destination based on the cost of cheap hotels, anyway if that's your take, as mentioned Expedia is your best approach. It has a large selection of cheap hotels in Pattaya, and I guess anywhere else in the world. The prices are often much lower than what you can get showing up.
Stayed in PJ Inn while in Pattaya. Its a very good economical hotel.
Its near to Central mall and from near by we can easily get baht bus to walking street.
Hotel Manager is also very gentle person.

Hi all,
I will be in Pattaya for the first time this July and have booked the LK Metropole after reading thru many reviews posted here.
Hope it will be a good choice.
Thanking all of you for the advice.
Cheers
I chose this location because it is close to Walking Street, reasonably priced, and had rooms available. I came down to Pattaya on a whim, and so did not have a reservation. I could have booked something on Agoda or the like, but my credit cards are being scrutinized by multiple authorities, and so better to keep a place like Pattaya off the books. This means I had to do a walk in, or book something through a travel agent in BKK and pay cash. I tried the latter, looking for a room at the Dusit Baracuda, but they were all full. So rather than try to book something ahead of time, I decided to just walk around and find a place.
I started with Aya, and thought I might do some of the other hotels around this area. But I walked in, asked for a room, and they said they only have the large room available, for 2500 baht per night. I popped this up on Agoda, and yes, it was listed at $71 per night, so no bullshit from them. I told them that I don't need the big room, can they give me the big room for the price of the small room? I said I also need breakfast and wifi. They agreed! So I paid 2100 baht per night, with breakfast and wifi.
The room (this is the 40 square meter one) is large and pleasant. I've been in the 30 square meter rooms, and they are a touch small and cramped, especially around the bathroom area. So this room was a pleasant surprise. They have a really nice lounging area in the room, which is like a flat built-in day bed, where one can fuck to one's delight, should you want that. In my field report in which I bring a gogo girl back, I will post a picture of her taking a little nap in this area, so you see what it looks like. Look for that in a couple of days.
The airconditioning sucks, so make sure to ask for a second key card, or what they call an electric card (can use this to put in the key slot ro run the AC all day, but it won't open doors). That way, you can leave it in the slot and have the AC run all day. Otherwise, when you come into the room, it is sweltering hot, and it takes at least an hour to cool down. This is important. Also, the airconditioning vents direct air right onto the bed, which is great during hot sex, but when you are trying to sleep, it is not terribly fun to have cold air breezing onto your face. And finally in this category, there is no air conditioning in the hallways. This may seem like a small gripe, but when you are coming back from a long trek through humid weather, you really feel the cloying hallways weigh on you.
Breakfast was not too good, to tell the truth. They had an omelet station, but their breads were very poor, and OMG, their coffee situation was just untenable. They did not have potted coffee, or an espresso machine, but instead, they had a Nescafe automatic dispenser machine. This allowed you to get cups of 'coffee' on demand, as well as mix it with 'milk', foamed or otherwise. For anyone that drinks coffee, and not 'coffee', this is simply amazingly bad. I had half a cup of the stuff and had to stop. Afterwards I went to a coffee shop in the mall next door and got my self some serious coffee.
But that is the major plus for this hotel, IMHO: its location. It is right next to the Marriott shopping mall, with that Food Wave on the top floor, and a Coffee World and Starbucks in there too. Within walking distance to WS, a moments from Beach Rd, it's kind of in a perfect location.
They are very girl friendly; she leaves her ID in the lobby and call up when she leaves. The only potential downside is that during the day, the hotel is frequented by a lot of non-mongers, but fuck 'them, right?
So overall, the hotel is a good one, at the price for the lower room. If I could get the larger room for that lower price again, I would definitely repeat. But at the 2500 baht price point, there are nearby hotels that might be a better bet. What I like the most is its location: within walking distance to walking street. What I like the least is the airconditioning situation, but I could live with the latter.
Is Page10 hotel really girl friendly? I have thought so but I just read on Tripadvisor review that a man was charged when leaving for having guests. Is it a good hotel still? What would you suggest for my 6 day stay next week. I have only stayed in Flipper House, which I will book again if I can't find or decide to have another hotel. I'd like to stay between sois 6-10. What about Sunshine on soi 8? I'd like to have a balcony, that's why I'm considering other than Flipper House. Love the location of soi 7 or 8 but on the other hand ID like a quiet room that I could also sleep when having a "day off" from partying.

Is Page10 hotel really girl friendly? I have thought so but I just read on Tripadvisor review that a man was charged when leaving for having guests..AFAIK Page 10 is girl friendly. He was likely charged extra since he booked for one person and brought up a girl. This is the case for most Pattaya hotels. Always book your hotel for 2 people.
Consider Tweet Tweet nest on soi 8. It's a little away from the action so quiet at night. No balcony though and sea view is only partial sea view. You can not bring girls under 20 back to your room.
Is Page10 hotel really girl friendly? I have thought so but I just read on Tripadvisor review that a man was charged when leaving for having guests. Is it possible the guest at Page 10 brought up more than 1 girl at the same time. A lot of guest friendly hotels will charge if you bring 2 girls up at once.
Personally I seldom book a room for 2 (and never had a problem) but it is sound advice. Especially if you plan on taking your LT dates to breakfast. On rare occasions the price of booking a room for one is less than a room for 2 guests. In those instances I book for one.

Love the location of soi 7 or 8 but on the other hand ID like a quiet room that I could also sleep when having a "day off" from partying.Sunshine on Soi 8 is a good choice but you have to be particular in your choice of rooms. The property has 3 wings. The residence wing has the largest rooms and all of them have balconies. The higher floors (9 - 12) have a good sea view. But the rooms are a bit worn out and look tired. The new wing has neat modern rooms, but they are smaller and they have no sea views. The hotel has 3 separate swimming pools and a host of other useful amenities. The open air cafe downstairs whips up some pretty decent food, both European and Thai.
Staff is friendly. Security is decent, the girls have to leave their ID at the reception and you always get a call when the lady leaves your room. Location is just perfect, everything available at arm's length. Pricing is reasonable.
P.S. - There have been sporadic reports of large groups of unruly visitors staying at this place and creating a nuisance.
The airconditioning sucks, so make sure to ask for a second key card, or what they call an electric card (can use this to put in the key slot ro run the AC all day, but it won't open doors). That way, you can leave it in the slot and have the AC run all day. I have mentioned before that to solve this problem I bring along a thin magnet taped to a Popsicle stick or something similar. This won't work for rooms with electronic key cards, but most all the hotels I have stayed at in both Pattaya and Phuket use fops with magnets, and this solution works great. To avoid confusing the maids, I don't insert the magnet when I leave during the morning before they clean the room, but for the afternoon and nights it is so much better to come back to a cool room. The girls appreciate it, too.
Here is a picture of my contraption. It is just a thin magnet that I taped to, yes, a dry wall screw! I didn't have any Popsicle sticks handy! Hey, it was made for Thailand, so you make do!

Hey, it was made for Thailand, so you make do!A very clever invention, FL Hawk! I did not think to jig up my own solution. Instead, I went down to the front desk and complained about how terrible the AC is and how long it takes to cool down. I asked for a second key card, which they were very willing to make for me. But then the lady asked me if I want an Electricity Card. Not knowing what this is, she explained that this is a card that you can insert into that slot in the room and leave it there all day, but it won't be able to open doors. And this does not confuse the maids, since it is an official card from the hotel. So that's what I did, and it worked out very well.

I hope there are some sunbeds to lay on at least.

You should have asked me if you had questions. Very doubtful there are sunbeds in a patio area. This is a tiny boutique hotel. Hopefully you got the sea view since the non sea view rooms have a huge wall where the large sea view window is.
Pointer on how to find hotel since it's not directly on Soi 8. If you are on Soi 8 and Beach, walk up soi 8 about 150 metres until you see a sign that says Centrepoint 8. You will see a little alley way and a small sign that says Tweet Tweet Nest. Walk about 30 metres to the hotel. You need to put down 1000 baht security deposit so make sure you have that.

Hi,
Will be visiting Pattaya next month, and was wondering if anyone know a good GF hotel which offers a 2-bedroom suite. I'll be with my wingman, and we'd like to have our own rooms. I saw some options but they were further away from the action, and required a shuttle bus to get to Walking St. I prefer to be within walking distance. If this option is not available, maybe it would be easier to just book two room at LK Empress / Page 10 / Baraquda? Thanks for your suggestions.
Hi guys. I'm planning a trip to BKK and Pattaya in early Oct. Can anyone recommend a GF hotel with good broadband internet between soi 6 and Walking Street?
Peace.

Thanks for your suggestions. You don't have a lot of options when searching for 2 bedroom suites. Whitehouse Condotel has a limited number of 2 bedroom suites and would be my first choice based on location. I would look at View Talay 6. Go to dancewatchers.com if you want to make a reservation at VT6. Residence Garden has 2 bedroom suites but they are bit out of the way. If you stay on Second Road, Beach Road or the sois that connect those two streets you can very easily catch a baht bus. I would not consider the baht "shuttle" buses to be inconvenient. They run every 1-2 minutes at night and even more frequently during the day.
Lastly a suggestion. If you cannot find a 2 bedroom suite why not look for a hotel with connecting rooms?

Has anyone stayed in Chan resort? Are they guest friendly?http://www.chanresort.com/index.php it seems the ex Rama Kien Swinger Resort. They are a naturist resort and is also possible to use the swimming pool if you are not the guest, 500 baht / day. Strange that they ask in their reservation form about children age in a naturist resort in Pattaya, I think this kind of resort must be for +18 yo only.

I'm also Platinum member. You should definitly consider Baraquda Hotel (MGallery). You won't regret this choice.
I even called them at 1:00 am to ask them to fill the jacuzzi in my room with water (as the bath tub is huge, it takes 30 mn). When I arrived, a groom was waiting at the (open) door of my room, watching both my arrival and the bath tub. I thanked him, and had a foursome in the jaccuzzi LOL.
I was there in April. See my reports:

SL.Nice suggestion, the rooms are all quite well-decorated, appreciate your help.
If you cannot find a 2 bedroom suite why not look for a hotel with connecting rooms?I presume any rental at View Talay 6 would be girl-friendly? Confirmation appreciated from anyone who has stayed here.

Confirmation appreciated from anyone who has stayed here.Girl friendly and no one questions you if you bring in multiple girls (4 was my max). Guys at the elevator take the girl's ID if you want. No call up to room after to make sure you are ok since no phones in any of the rooms I've stayed in.

Hello all,
I'm planning to visit Pattaya this week.
Can anyone Guide me on the hotel called Nova GoldI have never been there but on booking.com it is rated "8. 0 - very good".
Many reviews from single travellers and few from families. Main complaints are that the wifi is rather weak and location is not ideal for the night life. The hotel is in the northern part (at the level of Soi 6) between Second and Third Road and even a bit of a walk to get to Second Road (about 500 m) where you can take one of the many baht-busses to bring you to Beach Road and Walking Street. There is a free shuttle bus to the beach. Some guests remarked that the reception staff if not very helpful. Most reviews confirm the hotel was "good value for money".
Roach infested, has been said many of times, even after left hotel carried roaches in my suitcase without knowing, roach roach infested, customer service horrible, owners wife a old street walker herself now thinks she's better then everybody!I certainly hope that, in keeping with local tradition, that you nailed the little buggers for a joiner fee.

Thanks.Almost all hotels in Pattaya are girl friendly. When booking a hotel room even though you are alone tell 2 adults otherwise there are chances of joiner fees. L K Empress is near to walking street and it is on beach road.

Not sure what your definition of best bars is. There are lots and lots of bars and gogo clubs near Areca Lodge, which is steps from LK Metro. However, if Walking Street is your goal better location may be Baywalk Residence, Aya, Page 10, Siam, Baraquda, etc. Or possibly something more budget friendly a bit further down Beach on Soi 7 or Soi 8, where there are a ton of bars.

Hi folks,
Would be visiting Pattaya next month, can someone guide me if Beverly Plaza permits or charges for. More than 1 chick?
My friends would be staying there, I would prefer having something better in same range closest to walking street or Beverly Plaza. I'm getting a deal for 1000 baht per day. Which sounds quiet attractive.
Hope to hear from kind soul.

GSd.I have not stayed at this hotel. However, there are plenty of hotels near Walking street. Normally there are no charges for more than one chick but varies from hotel to hotel. See this link http://www.gfriendlyhotels.com/guest-friendly-hotels-pattaya.html#Walking_Street for details.

What location would be best to set up base I'm looking at Areca Lodge Hotel I just want to make sure the best bars and clubs like insomnia isn't like two miles away.WT. Areca Lodge is a decent place to stay. I liked my time there last April. However it's not super close by Insomnia and WS. It's very close to LK Metro though. It's a short mototaxi ride away from WS (I don't recall exactly, but around 30-50 baht) You can walk it too, but it's probably a 20 min walk. If you decide on Areca, I'd recommend the Evergreen tower (it's newer) with a pool view if you want. The AC works better too. The pool was populated with ages 50's-60's+ crowd.
My upcoming stay I will try out View Talay 6. I stopped by to check the grounds, location and rooms. I liked it better than Areca, but it's not the same thing. VT6 is an apartment building with some services available (room cleaning, legit massage BUT no breakfast or any of the standard services you'd find at a full service hotel) The rooms are big at VT6. 45+sqm. Good views on the south side and close to Breach Rd and walking street.
Anyone have thoughts regarding Dynasty Inn vs Baywalk Res vs Sandy Spring? I would like to try a new hotel this visit. All three appear to be pretty good, in a good location, and inexpensive. All also seem popular on this thread. Appreciate any insights.

Thank you SirW. I saw your post before asking. I am not so concerned with noise that will stop at 2 am, as I am usually out and about at that time. More curious about room quality / comfort / overall value.
Thanks.

All also seem popular on this thread. Appreciate any insights.Last May I stayed in both. I had an ocean facing room and it was loud at night, but the sound ended around 1 to 2 PM. As I recall, the noise starts, oh, around 8 PM? I can't remember for sure, but if you take naps late in the evening prior to going out, you might want to book somewhere else, or at least get a lower east-facing room.
For my second week, after spending a week with my Thai GF in BKK, I returned and stayed at the Dynasty and it was quiet. Much easier to sleep there, and it is less expensive. But, again, I didn't tend to nap late into the evenings, and I was out by 9 or 10 PM not to return until 1 AM to 3 AM, so the nose was not a huge problem.
That said, I just make a preliminary booking for November back at the Dynasty.

Thanks. All hotels of the LK chain are girl friendly, no joiner fees as long as you book a double room. There is a usually a fee for the third person if you decide to take two girls to your room. There is also a fee if you book single. You also get vouchers for breakfast, two per night and you can use them for anyone on the given date day are issued for. Also if you want to stay right on WS, the Siam Bayshore is girl friendly as long as you book a double room.

Sometime there are kids running around in the afternoon, which may cause some nap interruption. The higher floor, the better.

I will be staying at LK The Empress at the end of this month. Anyone who has stayed at this hotel before, is it possible to bring more than one girl (not at the same time) during the day?I stayed there couple of years ago. It's a very nice hotel with a good location. But it uses dynamic pricing, which means that the prices are above my budget during high season.
The joiner fee policy is the same as many hotels in Pattaya.
There is no charge for 1 girl. You can keep on changing the girls throughout the day!
But there is a (I think 500 baht) joiner fee for the second girl, if you bring her at the same time. I hate this policy!

Thanks. The fee for the third person is currently 600, Baht at the LK Empress. The hotel has really seen better days by the way, lobby is impressive but rooms and hallways are getting "tired" and are badly in need of a refurbishment. Also most guests are from the Middle East, including groups of young men in their late teens and some families with unsupervised and loud children playing in and around the pool.
Need a recommendation for a good Jomtien hotel, in the middle of action, with a swimming pool.
Thank you.

There's action in Jomtien? If so, I'm all ears.I have been to Pattaya four times over several decades, only once to Jomtien. However, I was watching bar videos on youtube and it seems that there is a a scene at the Jomtien Complex. Nothing comparable to Walking Street, or Soi Six. Which is a relief. I am an older gent and want a quieter scene.
In truth, this will probably be my last time. So I want to see whether I still can relive the first time.

I asked about Jomtien Complex last year and was told to skip it. Please provide a much needed update in the Pattaya Forum if you do go there. You may want to consider some of the gentleman's clubs like Kinnaree, Heaven, Venus, Winchester, Rioja, etc. Nearby instead. Other than Kinnaree Place, not even sure which of these are still open.

So after 12 trips to Pattaya I felt the need of changing a bit the scenery, I'm 50 yrs soon so I don't frequent the likes of walking str, discos, loud music anymore so both Jomtien and Naklua areas are the perfect options.
Jomtien its surely more laid back than the mainstream Pattaya, everything is on a smaller scale but its quite enjoyable. Bar area is concentrated between Sois 4 and 7 , some live band bars in main road going down Jomtien big arch and obviously the Big complex. About 50 bars or so, some with live bands especially the ones in the middle. Others are the usual set ups of almost Pattaya bar complexes, pool tables, girls around and plenty of food stalls. But you don't see any girls dancing on stage Same like frog complex in walking street while its less louder.
Even beach area is more clean and relaxed. On another note there is a block full of gay massages and few bars in an arcade on the right hand side going down hill to Jomtien. Its not on level with Boyz Town in Pattaya but Even hotels / guesthouses in that area cater for mostly gays so if you book around and its not your piece of cake double check with hotel prior booking (as well an area on beach sort of designated for gays).
Overall I like Jomtien area, basically there is everything on a quite note, good food, massages, bars, 1 go-go (oldest go-go in Patts so don't expect beauties) ,and girls as well. I'm no longer a fan of the busy crowds in walking street and discos although occasionally I pay a trip to go-go's.
Naklua area (north Pattaya) is another gem, again you find anything you like with less crowds.

I wonder if someone could recommend a hotel in the 90-110 $ range which, apart from the usual qualities a Pattaya hotel need to have, is ideally suited for keeping fit at the pool. The pool not only needs to be big and clean but also not childishly landscaped so as to hamper "serious" swimming.

In fact the pool is the center attraction I feel. Try getting a room there on the lower floor near the pool when you check in.Rooms are nice and modern and you won't be disappointed.

You mention 4/5 star, the Penthouse is about a 1/2 star, so you would be better off in the Marriott. No problems there, and also their hotel in Bangkok.

I do agree with you on the Pattaya Marriott; very nice hotel in the same area and IMO one of the best pools in Pattaya. Problem in this case: it is well over the budget Rammer11 set, does not have rooms with jacuzzi's, and has a 1 joiner gratis limit. Otherwise great though.

Thanks.I been there once last year, room cost 720 b I think it was sutus court #2. The buildings are all next to each other around the pool. The hotel is on soi Buakhao very close to soi Lengkee, Soi Diana and Soi LK Metro.
Guest friendly but I read on the web that they charge for second guest is you take back 2 girls together for a threesome. The area is a bit too noisy for me (but I'm not a party man). Wifi worked good, good air condition, clean, room was basic and small bathroom.
Is worth to stay here if you are on budget and want spend less than 800 b / day. You have a hotel service (pool, 24 HR reception) for a guesthouse price.

"No passport" might be more difficult. I think hotels are required by law to have their guest's ID details on record.
Of course, now you made me curious. Why wouldn't you show your passport to the hotel reception?

It seems like ST hotels (and AirBnB) are under increased scrutiny by the authorities to have foreigners register w / a passport ID and report it, the same as mainline accommodations do. Some of us prefer anonymity in those situations, and some of us don't carry their passport at all times. Another increasing pressure for the hobby.

But, it is still a good cheap second form of national ID that fits in your wallet. You can leave your real passport book at the hotel. Anyone have any experience with using the passport card in Asia?
I always carry my passport, never had any problems with it.
Don't you have an official ID card? How do you identify yourself at home?Bro,
I am just saying carrying a passport is risky and pain in the neck. If you lose it, it's a big deal.
What alternate forms of ID for non-Thai citizens are acceptable?
On a lighter note, at home me they let me in when I ring the bell.

Anyone have any experience with using the passport card in Asia?I have never been asked for any ID in any of the ST hotels. I always keep my passport in the hotel room safe. My driving license is the only ID I carry in my wallet while moving around town. But so far noone has asked me to provide an ID while using ST hotels. It is always the girl who gives her ID while using ST hotel.

I will be staying at LK The Empress at the end of this month. Anyone who has stayed at this hotel before, is it possible to bring more than one girl (not at the same time) during the day?
Thanks.I have stayed there recently in mid August. I had 3 girls visit my room in one day at different time slot and there were no problems. Never brought two at same time hence not aware of joiner fees.

Bro,
I am just saying carrying a passport is risky and pain in the neck. If you lose it, it's a big deal.
Losing my ID card is worse. Belgians are required by law to always carry an ID card when they go out. Passport is only necessary when travelling outside of Europe. Without an ID card I cannpt access various government websites, cannot legally identify myself, cannot get certain medication at social security tariffs, . . . It may take up to a month to get a replacement ID card.
If I should loose my passport abroad I go to the nearest Belgian consulate or embassy and ask to be issued a "laissez-passer" document. No big deal and at home I just ask for another passport.
For non-locals what kind of photo Ids (that are accepted in hotels) you suggest bro? I agree that carrying Passport is too risky.I take my passport and departure card to one of the many photo shops around town. They photocopy both in color, reduce the images to credit card size, place them back to back and laminate them so that they're durable and waterproof. The shop on Soi Buakhao near Soi Diana charges 120 THB, and I've been able to use this form of ID all over town when requested. Passport and departure card stay safe in hotel safe.

Good idea re. Photocopy. I have photos of my passport, METV, and Departure card on my phone.
Hello everyone,
I am coming to Pattaya end September and am currently looking at the hotel options, referring to this list here:
http://www.guestfriendlyhotel.com/guest-friendly-hotel-pattaya/
I am coming alone and don't really know what to expect, nor where the best part of Pattaya to stay in is, for a mix of comfort and action. Is it easy to get around from any part of the city?
I was considering spending a few nights at this one, the Intimate Hotel, in central Pattaya. In short, any suggestions for a first timer to Pattaya and not feel I've made the wrong choice?
I'm checking through the forum further, regardless, but some suggestions would be useful.

I'm checking through the forum further, regardless, but some suggestions would be useful. It is very easy to get around Pattaya as long as you stay near Beach Road or Second Road. I prefer to stay between those two roads but Intimate has an excellent location. Easy to catch a baht bus on Second Road from Intimate. Also it's easy to walk to Beach Road where you can catch a baht bus to Walking Street. You could also walk to Walking Street. Lots of banks, money exchanges 1 minute from Intimate. Avenue A Mall is 2 minute walk from the hotel and other malls are nearby. A 5 minute walk to the LK Metro go gos. Intimate is in a very quiet street but action is not far at all. I have never stayed there but walked into the lobby a few months ago. Didn't see a room but the lobby looked nice as did the girls behind the front desk. I might try it myself next trip.
You either did your research or got lucky because of Intimate's great location. It is a good choice imho. I might add that the official name of the hotel is Intimate by Tim but most people just call it Intimate. Perhaps someone else on this forum can let you know what it is like to stay at this hotel.

I am trying to get a good routine for banging in Pattaya in the middle of the day. Recently I picked a girl from Paradise Massage in Soi Honey, and while she performed well (all the details are in my review posted in the Pattaya Reports thread), the room was little but more than a bunch of beds separated by curtains. Not super intimate.
My solution would be to find a short-time hotel similar to Oasis Hotel on Soi Happy near Walking Street. It costs 450 Baht for 2 hours, has a safe deposit box, classy lights and mirrors, and the shower is modern and clean. Is there anything approaching in the neighborhood of Soi Honey? Given all the go-go bars in Soi LK Metro, which is just around the corner, I would assume there would be a high-end short-time hotel nearby.
Hi,
I am also there in the first week and was in the same dilemma. I have been to Pattaya many many times before and having said that I see now most of the hotel putting up a joiners fee. But there are some jewels in the crown.
Holiday Inn, no issues for as many joiners as you want provided they give an ID at the reception and you sign them it. This is a good practice and is safe too.
Intimate: They have same policy but second and 3rd joiners are charged I think at 500 THB.
LK Empress: One joiner free extra at THB 1000.
Now the point of coming to Pattaya I assume is to live every fantasy, so book a room with a jacuzzi and have fun.
Cheers.

Thank you, Allover, Rammer11, SirWilliam4 for your answers. I have booked there and will hope for the best.
Either way, I like to give a nice post of what I experience there and hope to provide some details for other first time visitors from my perspective.
Last time I was in Thailand, I was mostly in Bangkok and Phuket, which I enjoyed, but always regretted not being to see the real areas. This time it's two nights in Bangkok in the Sukhumvit area near Soy Cowboy, onto Pattaya then to Koh Samui, with my last 4 nights up to me to decided where I prefer. I'll be posting in the travel plans section as well.
This site has never let me down since my trip to Sosua, years ago. I'm looking forward.
While the name is self explanatory (chuckles), do visit Grace hotel disco on soi 3. I once banged a wild uzbeki 19 yr old for 1500 THB. She so so crazy that the next day she got a friend and banged the day lights out of me. I was happy getting raped.

Stayed at LK The Empress for 2 nights. Had already booked the room before I saw the post below. Now, I have to concur with what was written. Many guests from the Middle east and the Sub Continent. The breakfast starts from 06.30 to 11.30 am It is OK. It's the time you can see non. Asian guests accompanied by their ladies of the previous night.
The fee for the third person is currently THB 600. The lobby is impressive but rooms and hallways are getting "tired" and are badly in need of a refurbishment. Also most guests are from the Middle East.
Planned to be in Pattaya on Oct. 1st week. Wanted to stay between WS and Soi 6. On booking.com saw LK and sandy bridge available. Any recommendation between these 2? Any other hotel which is decent 3/4 star. My budget is 100 $/ day.

The rooms are old, stale, drab, ick) or an LK hotel (which are actually not too bad, depending on which one you choose), but would go for the Dusit Baraquda. It's on the other side of second street, but it is a cut above the many hotels in that area. The Marriott is the top dog in terms of price and opulence, but I prefer the Dusit. It's a quick motocy or baht taxi to and from WS, and close enough to soi 6, and also close enough to the soi Diana and Buakhao action. And it's a very nice hotel just in terms of quality of rooms.

For 100 bucks a day ...snip... would go for the Dusit Baraquda. And it's a very nice hotel just in terms of quality of rooms.Yes, but how is the Baraquda swimming pool? The Baraquda has been on my radar screen since it was built and originally run by the Dusit Corp, but I have never stayed there because I speculated from the photographs provided in its literature that its pool was rather small, shade prone, and view less. To me a good pool in Pattaya is as important as a good room and good location. Here is a short review of a few places that I have stayed in recent times:
The Marriott rooms are good, but not 5 star unless you are taking about their terrace one bedroom suites. One time while I was staying there, the manager heard me asking for another room because my room had a faint smell/odor, so he upgraded me to one of those suites for the rest of my stay and I have been spoiled to accept anything less at this hotel ever since. The bargain price for a terrace suite is 8000 bt / night. So to recap: The Marriott deluxe rooms are good, but are not 5 star. The pool, however, is one of the best in Pattaya and the hotel's location is excellent. I really like the secret back door entrance / exit through the garden / pool area to Beach Road. It is great for bringing back girls late at night.
The Holiday Inn rooms are surprisingly good and its infinity pool is very nice with a great view of Pattaya Bay. And an added bonus is that there is a children's pool located on another floor entirely so the main pool is for adults only AND QUIET. The location is walking distance to Soi 6 and easy Baht bus connections elsewhere.
The Evergreen Areca Lodge rooms are nice, although not quite as spiffy as the Holiday Inn. Meanwhile the Evergreen pool is only ok because it has no views being closely surrounded on all sides by condos. The location is good being right across the street from LK Metro and an easy motorcycle taxi ride to Walking street in case you don't feel like walking there through the Avenue Mall shortcut. On paper they say they will charge for a 2nd girl if you are bringing back 2 grils at the same time, but I never encountered a problem. Nobody cared how many girls I was bringing back at one time when I stayed there.
Tim Boutique rooms are not as nice as the Evergreen Areca, but still relatively good and its rooftop pool, although not as large as the Evergreen pool, is very nice since it has a great expansive view of Pattaya. The location is approximately the same as Baraquda.
So my preference is the Marriott when they are offering a deal on their deluxe room at around 3300 bt or less which is available in low season if you are willing to book 3 to 6 months in advance. I wish I would splurge for the Marriott terrace suite, but I won't. I like the Holiday Inn at around $89/night, but it is another world out there at Soi 1. Ha Ha. So that brings me back to the Evergreen Areca which is very good for the price, even though the pool is as I said only ok.
Natty your obervations about the Baraquda pool are generally correct. There is no view and it gets shade at certain times of the day. But I consider the pool to be excellent otherwise. I don't think it is small. I stayed at Baraquda in May for about US $80/ night and loved it.
Maybe he is referring to Sandy Spring on Soi 13. There is plenty of information about that hotel in this forum already.
SW4.Yes. I was referring to Sandy Spring on Soi 13 - went back and read on forum that it had noise issue with Hooters.
Thanks for feedback guys.
Yes, but how is the Baraquda swimming pool? Natty, I agree with your assessment of the Marriott versus the Baraquda, but the Marriott is significantly more expensive. But.

I don't think it is small. I stayed at Baraquda in May for about US $80/ night and loved it.And I agree with Allover: I think the pool is actually quite nice. It isn't tiny, it's an interesting design (they have those chic pool balls floating around), and it's quite sedate. It isn't super top end, but quite nice. One major difference between the two hotels is the gym: the Baraquda gym is perfectly good. You can get your workout done perfectly well. But the Marriott gym is significantly better. But again, you are paying much more for the Marriott. If I had the money, I would choose the Marriott, but if my budget is $100 or less (the OP's stated budget), I would go for the Baraquda.
I'm not sure you can get the Marriott for $100 per night, at least not predictably. And given a choice between the Baraquda and Tim's Boutique / Areca, I would take the Baraquda any day of the week. This is my preference, and certainly not a definitive guide, but that's all we can do here on ISG.

Soi 13 is an awesome location. The Dynasty Inn, practically next door, is a decent place as well. Neither are luxurious, but a couple of girls I took back to each place said the rooms were nice. From either hotel to BR is just a short walk down a quiet soi.

Thanks guys for the information on Baraquda. I may stay there next time I decide to visit Pattaya. It all depends on what is on offer at a good price when I begin my search because I am a very competitive price consumer as far as hotels are concerned. To that end I keep a spreadsheet on the best prices for various hotels that I have an interest in and always compare their current offers on multiple booking sites to my spreadsheet. Here is a condensed list of my possibility Pattaya hotels along with their historical best rates that I have seen or booked myself:
Marriott deluxe premium garden room $92, offered on the hotel web site. I stayed here a couple of times at this rate in September and at a much higher rate in season.
Hilton Pattaya deluxe room $144 w/bfst, offered on the hotel web site. I never stayed here. Too expensive for Pattaya IMHO since there are so many less expensive suitable alternatives.
Baraquda deluxe room $76, offered on Agoda. I almost booked this hotel a couple of times at this price, but decided instead to stay at the Holiday Inn twice and the Areca Evergreen more recently.
Holiday Inn deluxe room $79, offered on the hotel web site. And since I am an Intercontinental Priority member I get an upgrade room at no cost and earn points. I like Intercontinental points. I will be staying at the Intercontinental Jakarta, a true 5 star hotel, for 6 free nights in early 2017.
Areca Lodge (new Evergreen building) super deluxe room w/bfst $49, offered on Agoda. This is a really good deal IMHO. The room is relatively large w / balcony and the location is pretty good. The pool is large, but as I said previously, it has no view.
It should be noted that the Marriott at $92/ night was offered by Marriott on its website in June for an advance no cancellation booking in late September. I do not think such an attractive offer is ever made by Marriott during high season from Nov through April. Holiday Inn and Baraquda seem to be similarly priced. Like I posted earlier, the Holiday Inn is surprisingly very nice. Its just a question of whether you want to be situated all the way up on Soi 1. I stayed there twice and liked it. I did not feel isolated thanks to the Bhat bus transportation system and nearby Lisa bar on 2nd road and Soi 6, a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Lastly, the Areca (Evergreen) super deluxe room including a decent buffet breakfast is well priced and I consider it a good real value for the money although nothing fancy.
So where I stay depends on what I see on the various hotel booking sites 4 to 7 months before I intend to visit Pattaya or anywhere else for that matter. I prefer value then comfort, pool, and location in my hotels whether they are 5 star or 3. 5 star so I don't waste any money unnecessarily and consequently have more money to spend on the girls. Fortunately BKK and Pattaya have a great selection of accommodations at all price points.
Thanks guys for the information on Baraquda. If you really are interested in staying at Baraquda, just wait for the next Accorhotels Private Sales. In the past I constantly booked rooms through this promotions at a rate from 2. 000 THB to 2. 400 THB all inclusive, sometimes even breakfast was included. And as a elite member of Accorhotel loyalty scheme I always got upgraded to a studio suite, which is nice, but due to the odd layout of the rooms rather useless.
Anyway Baraquda IMHO is a very good hotel and for me has a great location. The best asset by far is the staff. Very helpful, friendly and always willing to make me feel welcome and make my stay perfect. Even at real 5 star I never had the same experience.

Some rooms have big jaccuzzi in the middle of the bedroom, large enough for 4 people. And the staff is great. I even called them at 2 am to prepare the jaccuzzi (it takes 30 mn to get ready), and a groom was waiting for us at the door!

It's not on beach road but still close and serve my purpose of saying close to walking street. As its 4 star I hope there is no issue to bring girls at daytime (which I plan to do). Sometime I find if hotel is too good it has too many families and too many people staring when you walk with girl at day time. Not sure if you guys encounter same issue with good hotels. Will report back ones I stay there next week.

Okay gentlemen, What's better;.
A) April Suites (The location is really quiet at night, as it's at the end of a small alley. It's a 3 minute walk to Soi 7 & 8 and second road where you catch the baht buses is just 1 min away.).
B) Queen Victoria Inn (On Soi 6, at the center of the action. It has good food and is easy to get a baht bus at either end of the street).
WiFi is important to me.
Pool is not.
Price between the two is similar.
Rooms both look acceptable.
So which would you choose if you had to pick one?

That is, unless you never ever take a girl from Soi 6 either to your hotel or in her bar. Some of these bargirls really try to "claim" you and do not accept easily that you drag another one to your hotel. So it could be awkward to stay in the midddle of adult candyland and never partake for fear of being verbally abused by a jealous bargirl there when you walk by with another SYT in tow.
Hi guys,
Could you please suggest some quality villas for daily rent (week) in Pattaya near the action?
Please consider up to 300 $ per night.
Amen. I hope to have great experience this week. Cannot wait to visit. My second Pattaya trip.Just checked in today in Baraquda. Impressed with the staff. They are so helpful. Will report out how this hotel turnout.
Dear fellow mongers,
Preparing for my first trip to Pattaya in mid November with 4 of my friends. We were looking to rent a villa during our 3 night visit to the 'dream land'. Request suggestion if its a good plan.
Also if I can get any suggestions for villa rentals (3 BR) not much far from the party scene and of course. Guest friendly.
Cheers and thank you in advance.

I have seen a very favorable offer on booking.com, but would very much like to know more. It is their hotel in Jomtien, not the one in Pattaya. I choose Jomtien this time because I stay longer and would like to be closer to a beach. Usually I stay in Sandy Spring Soi 13 which I find very good. Close to everything and with a nice staff. Great massage parlor just in front of hotel also. I also tried both Mercure Hotels, but like Sandy Spring more. Someone complains about notice fro Hotters, but it did not bother me. Great if anyone could advise me about Z by Zing. I know the area very well, but not the hotel.

I want to book a condo from this agency but don't know how good they are. I looked at dance watchers and honeys coffee house but didn't see any thing I liked. The website I did find with nice condos for rent is www.viewtaley6.com. Just like to know if anybody has used them. They don't have any reviews that I could find, so I'm hesitant to pull the trigger. Any help would be great.
What would you recommend with these requirements:
-Swimming pool.
-Girl friendly.
-Balcony in the room for occasional smoking.
-Quiet for sleeping but close to "action".
-About 3000 baht a night maximum price.
Is there such a hotel?
I have stayed almost always in Flipper House on soi 7 but the location is very noisy usually music can be heard from the soi until 2 am at least. And rooms are very basic, no balcony.
I was thinking Centara Pattaya but it has no balcony in the cheaper rooms. Tweet tweet nest was good but no pool. Maybe Sunshine on soi 8 if you could get quiet room not facing the soi 8.

What would you recommend with these requirements:
-Swimming pool.
-Girl friendly.
-Balcony in the room for occasional smoking.
-Quiet for sleeping but close to "action".
-About 3000 baht a night maximum price.

Their superior room with balcony is about 2000 baht and delux room with balcony is about 2500 baht including breakfast. Nice sea view. Has a nice rooftop pool and restaurant. Truly girl friendly. Only thing is it gets sold out pretty fast. Need to book well in advance.

But maybe it depends on the floor and the room. And the hotel and rooms seemed old and rundown. Otherwise the location was good.

Their room rates are within 3,000 baht. It has two good size swimming pools. If the "action" you're looking for is on Walking Street, the Areca Lodge might be too far. The Areca Lodge is, however, located next to the LK Metro (30-second walk).
