Now that restrictions have been eased a bit, I'm considering a return to Pattaya next month.

My concern is the need for a negative Covid test to re-enter the USA after my stay in Pattaya.

How is this requirement best accomplished? Are they offered at the BKK airport? If so, cost, and timing for test results?

Any others who have encountered a similar need, I'd appreciate your input as to how the process works.

Many thanks.

Many thanks.Currently, the USA Only requires an Antigen Test I believe within 72 hours of arrival, you can go to the Embassy website and obtain the exact language.

There are places like Bangkok Pattaya Hospital on Sukhumvit currently charging 1090 baht for results and paperwork in two hours? I believe one can also obtain one at Pattaya Memorial on 2nd Road I've not known the cost. I recently got a lead on a lab near Jomtien website that said to test for 490 baht with proper paperwork one should also check with your airline and any stopovers for requirements?

Hi to all,

This is a query at will be obliged if someone residing or having a information could help in fill up.

Wanted to know if sunshine hotel at residence soi 8, Pattaya is taking up tourists for June, as, on website at agoda it is being still shown as SHA plus hotel at only standard category rooms are available of is means rest of the hotel is closed or when it will be open.

Thanks in advance.Anyuta,

If you check on the hotel's website, in the booking section there's an option to "view availability chart". It would appear that only Economy Single, Standard, and Superior are open for booking between now and October. It is highly unlikely that the Deluxe, Sunshine and Seaview are fully booked for all these dates.

Either the hotel hasn't opened up the higher floors yet or, more of a potential red flag, they are refurbishing those floors with the resultant potential for disturbance to the rest of the hotel.

On a side issue, the last report I saw on Beech Road Soi 8 (and Soi 7) was back in March and Sir Lancelot said not a lot was happening there - obviously that was a few weeks ago and I admit I haven't wandered down them to check since but whenever I've passed by on Beech Road even the bars on Beech Road itself (places like Lovely Corner, Poppy 2 and the complex with 6 or so bars on the other corner of Soi 8) have been very quiet. You might want to reconsider your location.

I had girls over and it was not a problem. They did not collect an ID for the guest. One side appeared to be a hotel (towards Buakhaow 15) with the rest being condos.

Rooms are small but very livable. Mine was service twice a week and overlooked the pool which was nice.

This Airbnb posting will give you an idea of the rooms.

Also it has been mentioned a couple posts below the Grand Avenue Residence condominium is also guest friendly. Seems to be a similar layout to the Centra.

There are View Talay 1,2,5, 7 all in Jomtien which do rent furnished condos, generally for 30 days minimum, but some do it by the day as well. That is the route I have taken for my next trip, I got my rental thru [URL]Dancewatchers.com[ / URL]- see their web site.

From Naklua to Jomtien there are thousands of condominiums, almost all with swimming pools and some with gigantic pools. Are you looking for a large one to swim and do many laps? How many meters is large for you?

Thanks for reply mate, your on spot as I want to enjoy lap swimming rather than sunbathing. 25 m up is all welcome and with regards to budget lets say in the region of 1500 Thai baht daily. All other requirements are pretty normal. Nice modern apartment with possible views. I'm not doing any cooking or laundry so I don't mind about cutlery, washing machines or things.

You'll find that complex on the east side of Soi Buakao, across the street from Tree Town.

The booking agent for the investor-owned condos in the Diana Estate complex is Khun Meow. Here is her web site:

Last night, I had a lady over to my condo for drinks. She has a new Farang husband, and my rule is I don't do ladies with Farang boyfriends or husbands. So, no hanky panky. After drinks, we went to Area 39 in TreeTown, where she invited 4 ladies, plus her Thai boyfriend, and I paid for a bottle of Sangsom, and a huge beer dispenser. 3 of the ladies were described as her daughters, quite lovely.

The drill is that I can her to come back to my condo for drinks in the future, and she can bring one of the ladies, again, no hanky panky. But then I can have the lady come alone, at a later date, as a barfine. A great recruiting system for me.

Oh, if you were wondering if I fuck ladies with Thai husbands, yeah, they all have Thai husbands unless they are gay or really old.

I got a bit tired of sifting through all the hotels listed on sites for girl-friendly hotels, and cross-referencing various things such as distance to beach, noise levels etc on TripA. So I just checked out a Mercure and it serves the basic purpose of this visit. In the TA Q&A sections several questions are typically asked about the girl-friendliness of hotels, and it seems the chains are too, though they don't get a mention on the girl-friendly hotel sites I've read. I chose this mainly for my budget. If one reads through some of the popular monger hotel reviews on TA or Booking, there is often a deal-breaker such as noise, air-con problems, strange smells or similar.

Stayed here one night. It is within walking distance to Soi Boomerang or Soi Diana, or just hop on the baht bus.

Liked everything about this place, considering the price. Breakfast included, and pretty decent. Underground parking garage, which was handy for my driver (Nams Taxi), so she could just wait in the lobby for me.

Didn't spend much time there, so don't have alot to say, but I recommend this place for a quick stay. I prefer other hotel or condo for longer stay.

These rates see really high to me or is there something I'm missing on this place.I was thinking the same thing. 15 k-20 k in Pattaya should be able to land you a nice 1 bed 1 bath condo, not a studio. Locals get studios for about 5 k / month (short term leases).

I stayed at The BASE and Grand Avenue in Central Pattaya for a month each. Paid 19 k and 18 k respectively. But I found out afterwards that rent was actually going for about 10 k / mo for The BASE and 10-15 k for Grand Ave.

These prices are almost like travel hacks, and it will be easier to find if you can befriend a Thai local. Working girls should be able to get some good info on affordable condos.

Even with tourist prices, people should be able to get way better deals than "Super Premium Studios" for 35 k baht.

Pre-Covid I stayed at Centra Azure and enjoyed the condo as well as the pool and gym. Has anyone stayed at both and is there a huge difference between either. Both places are $450 a month with a 6 k deposit and charge electricity at 5 bt per unit.

Thanks.

I had done a booking on Agoda for my upcoming trip to Pattaya. Had been recommended the Hotel at Soi Bukhao by many. Did my booking for the Hotel. Today when I call up the hotel, I am told that we do not accept Indians as guests. I have never faced problems on Beach Road Hotels. Can someone share their experiences with the Hotel?

No, I am not trolling I have never experienced a racial differentiation. I am talking about the Hotel at Soi Bukhao. I called up to do reservations and I was informed by the lady on phone that they do not take Indians.Thailand is full of bias, positive to some people and negative to others. Rich Caucasian European is good, rich Japanese or Korean is even better. Thais don't always hide those feelings. I've seen restaurants with door signs clearly stating certain nationalities were excluded from entry. I have no doubt that certain Pattaya hotels have similar policy. One of my non-P4P friends cleans hotel rooms, she has made many negative comments about certain nationalities because too many of them are difficult customers and eventually she found a job at a different hotel to get away from that nationality customer.

The girls are the same, I found one online dating profile from a beautiful young girl who presented a list of nationalities that she excluded. “Not interested in Thai men, or men from *****, ******** *****, *** *****, and any country in ****** . Sorry but it is my life and I pick what I want.”

Those thoughts are repulsive to me, but that mentality is part of Thai culture.

I have never heard any decent hotel staff openly saying what you are saying and I have lived in Pattaya / Thailand for few years.

If this is serious post, can you tell me which hotel it is?

I will happily call them and complaint on your behalf. Also Indians now need to look into Chinese way of traveling. Only stay in Indian own hotels, eat at only Indian own restaurants, buy packages and pay in INR etc only.

I'm from India and I can attest that 90% of the population behaves and conducts itself in a despicable manner. No wonder these girls don't want to get together with these guys or businesses don't want such people around in their yards.

We are all not born equal, everyone has certain characteristics or attributes which others may like or not like. So to suggest girl should be banging everyone is BS idea only western cucked liberals believe in.

It is the girls choice. They can do whoever they want. If the don't like Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi guys it's their choice. Stop being sour over their choices improve yourself and your behavior, don't go hang around in groups stalking these girls. Don't over negotiate (typical Indian habit) and don't try to scam people. Even in India guys bang these girls and then don't pay them and run away.

India is an unsafe country for both women and men. So reputation of people from India not being good is actually appropriate.

The 10% of Indians who get the stick because of the other 90 % , well it's just collateral damage. Man up and move on.

We should be treated equally. " But there are biases. While some biases may be based on prejudice, some are based on personal experiences. Who are we to say that a lady should sleep with someone or other? Because we have money? Let's not fool ourselves into thinking we're all suddenly desirable because we're paying them $60.

On a similar note, I've heard multiple girls say they don't like Indian men because lots of them demand group sex (I heard about them not paying, too). I've read posts here, too. "I'm from India. Where can I find ladies that are open to having sex with multiple men. " I don't think I've ever heard of this being so prevalent in any other culture. Is there something about India (or Indian culture) that makes this common / desired? Genuinely curious.

Bro, not only Indians but Many Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Nepali guys have a fantasy of group sex / gang rape experience. (I use gang rape because that's what they really see a group sex as. Something to humiliate the girl and feel empowered themselves) . This whole Indian subcontinent region is like the rape capital of the world.

In terms of India specifically. You see, 25 years ago most of India was living with a medieval mindset in villages. They were used to seeing women all dressed up head to toe and their faces covered.

Then urbanization and internet access became the norm. Now everyone has internet and a cheap Chinese smartphone, (even the beggars, they just hide it well) . What these guys see mostly on the internet is porn and adult content. India is probably the biggest consumer of porn / adult content in the world, or 2nd largest after USA.

These guys who were used to seeing women all dressed up now see adult content, porn 24*7 . It is going to lead to a sick mind only.

Just ask any Western or East Asian girl if she's traveling alone in India. Everyone, poor or rich, young or old will hit on them thinking they are easy lay as they are alone and come from western countries where casual sex is normal. Guys will molest them or stalk them even to their hotel rooms. The girls will be lucky if they don't get raped.

They see all this adult content and take western women.

Or women travelling alone as someone ready to get down on her knees as soon as they make a move LOL. Just recently become British 45 year old woman was raped in her hotel while getting a massage. The rapist guy said she was letting me massage her thighs so I figured she wanted it bad. So I raped her. That's the general mindset here.

As for group sex, it's just a tool for them to feel empowered or masculine. I know of some guys from Punjab, India who have immigrated to Canada. 7-8 of them call up some white working gal there for a group sex session. They come back to India on visit and then openly gloat about doing so to other men they know, how they paid her only half (which they think makes them people with shrewd business attributes! . they smashed the brains out of the western girl, which they think makes them all the best possible and ever present on earth as they banged some poor working gal in some foreign country.

It's just the way of most of the men compensate for their lack of actual masculine attributes. It's a power play. They see group sex as a way to demonstrate to themselves how bad and tough they are. And it gets them off.

Girls around here in the subcontinent are no innocent victims either. They are nagging queens and can make a man's life hell too. Many are promiscuous, just pretending to be traditional. So guys also have a lot of pent up steam which they cannot take out on their wives / women in their lives so they probably take out their frustrations this way by getting involved in group sex activities.

Those thoughts are repulsive to me, but that mentality is part of Thai culture.Exactly Right. Decades of Nigerian scammers have made my ventures in Thailand a struggle for years. Not even to mention the "BBC" fandom. I can't even express how many times I've been talking to a girl and the first three things out of their mouths has been "Are you from Africa or America? "Oh too Big, it will hurt. I can't" (They haven't even seen or felt my dick), and "Wow you so kind black guy not like the others. "

I laugh at it. But it does suck cause it makes things unnecessarily hard and I always have to "prove" myself while my Caucasian friends get the best service right off the bat.

There are no problems with bringing back girls. You just hold their hands and make it look like they are your girlfriend as you walk into the ground floor reception and no one will bother you. They will hold her ID if they think they are working girls, but I have entered with 2 girls and they did not have a problem.

Rates double on Saturday night, so if you avoid that you can get rooms for 4000 per night during the week.

Hilton best location. Hard Rock isn't near anything. LK Empress is 3rd best hotel but best location.LK Empress had one major problem for me and one nuisance. The floors were so highly polished that they were dangerously slippery when wearing socks. The nuisance was that the shower temperature control didn't work worth shit, it cycled between way too hot and too cool at about 20 second period. That was 5 years ago, so maybe it's better now.

I appreciate that they held my guests' IDs and called the room before they gave IDs back. Two girls allowed at the same time without fee, though I do tip whoever held the IDs.

Hey fellow mongers!

I will be traveling to pattaya next week and I just had a question before I make my living arrangements.

How safe are condos??

Last time I was in Pattaya (2019 pre-covid a. K. a good times).

I stayed in a hotel. A modest hotel, but clean and near a lot of things. It was not too expensive. Unfortunately, that place has shut down now due to losses in Covid.

Anyhoo, I am thinking of taking a condo instead of a hotel this time. Grass Serviced Suites seem tempting. I am just concerned about how safe are these?

I mean do they have a safe in the rooms to keep my camera and other stuff safe if I have company coming over for the night?

Also, are condos better in terms of girl friendly? Do I have to check the girl in?

And lastly? What kinda options do I have in case someone steals cash or electronics from my condo?

All help will be appreciated with a cold one as soon as I arrive in Pattaya!!

Dynasty Inn is nice on soi 13 I usually spend several weeks there. But I'd be looking in that area. As far as safety always best to put whatever can be easily carried away out of sight. Dynasty does have good ID checking system and they called guests in past before girl got ID back.

-503.I stayed in The BASE for 1 month in May and Grand Avenue for 1 month in June. Both had safes. There were no issues bringing in girls. They do have a main entrance area where they will ask for a girl's ID if the girl is not accompanied and they believe she's working. But if you're with the girl, or you drive in via taxi, I don't think they will ask for her ID. I've never had safety issues with the girls I brought over, and I usually brought someone over about once every 3 nights, sometimes 2 girls.

I've never had safety issues with the girls I brought over, and I usually brought someone over about once every 3 nights, sometimes 2 girls.Did you happen to prefer one over the other? I'm deciding between these two condos.

Leaning towards Grand Avenue as I'm reading mixed feelings regarding The Base.

Did you use AirBnB or an agent?

Thanks.

The hilton is probably the best 5 star hotel in Pattaya and nicely located. It was renovated during covid so all rooms are nice and new.

There are no problems with bringing back girls. You just hold their hands and make it look like they are your girlfriend as you walk into the ground floor reception and no one will bother you. They will hold her ID if they think they are working girls, but I have entered with 2 girls and they did not have a problem.

Rates double on Saturday night, so if you avoid that you can get rooms for 4000 per night during the week.Great info. Many thanks. Much appreciated.

Great info. Many thanks. Much appreciated. One furthet tip. Just grab a Baht bus to walking st from the Hilton. The little blue pickup type tructs that you signal from the street. Just 10 baht for locals, 20 baht for tourists.

I always paid 10 baht pre pandemic. Nice way to get rid of the 1 or 5 baht. Your specific points are on the main route so nothing to worry. Sois signs are all visible as well.

Because I've never been charged more than 10 baht and I've asked to be let off at Soi 6 many times.

I'm not trying to be argumentative but just reporting my experience of riding baht buses for many years. I've never asked a price or been quoted a price, I just jump on and hand them 10 baht when I get off.

During covid there were no short term residents so everyone just gave 10 baht and it kind of became the default price.

When tourist numbers pick up they will probably start asking for the dual pricing model again. Anyhow, that is how I understood it, I may be wrong too!

How do you know they're not driving all the way out to Jomtien or past Terminal 21? This is why I'd ask them if they're going to WS or Buakhaow if I'm getting on on 2nd St. But if I'm getting off on Soi 6, I'd just get on without asking and pay the 10 baht. Same thing if I get on on Beach Rd. I just get on and get off on WS.

I believe the standard pricing is 10 baht for locals which includes long term residents and 20 baht to short term tourists.I have been coming to Pattaya since 2005, and the price has always been 10 baht. For everyone.

But of course this price is not for an unlimited number of kilometers. For example: it's 10 baht from the crossing of South Pattaya Road / Second Road up to the Dolphin Circle (the roundabout next to Terminal 21). It's also 10 baht from the Dolphin Circle up to the crossing of South Pattaya Road / Second Road. So this means when you hop on at the crossing of Second Road / Soi 6 for example, and you hop off at Central festival on Beach Road, you will have to pay 20 baht.
Same if you hop on at the end of Beach Road, close to Walking Street, and you hop off somewhere on Second Road, you will have to pay 20 baht.
At least that is how I have understood it a long time ago, probably in 2005. Nowadays I never take a baht bus anymore on Beach Road when I want to hop off on Second Road. In that case I walk to Second Road first, through one of the soi's, and take a bus there.

Mogwai

Aren't the routes they take random? No, they are not. I think 99% of the baht buses that circle over Beach Road and Second Road take the same route over and over again. Occasionally you see one driving through a soi from Beach Road to Second Road or v.v.

Occasionally you see one driving through a soi from Beach Road to Second Road or v.v.The baht buses running up second road have two directions, they either do a you turn and head back down Beach road and you can stay on that all the way until Walking Street or it keeps going straight up towards Nakula. Just ask the driver which route he's taking before jumping on.

Now I have seen baht buses drive straight after making the left turn past Walking Street. I would guess they travel up a bit and turn left to go towards LK Metro but I am not sure.

Just ask any Western or East Asian girl if she's traveling alone in India. Everyone, poor or rich, young or old will hit on them thinking they are easy lay as they are alone and come from western countries where casual sex is normal. Guys will molest them or stalk them even to their hotel rooms. The girls will be lucky if they don't get raped.I met a Thaigirl in Pattaya who told me that she been in India for 6 months for working in a massage shop (she said only HJ but who know if this is true or not), she said that she was scared as fuck to walk alone in the street in day time, as you said everybody stalked her. She said will never come back to India.

Condos are super safe, there is 24 HR security and CCTV everywhere. Some condos will ask your girls to sign the visitor book and take their IDs, some condos don't give a fuck about who you take back to your room.

Condos are super GF, you can take as many girls as you want to your room and nobody blink an eye, just don't make noise.

Some apartments have safetybox and some not. Just ask your host. If the apartment don't have safetybox use your luggage as safetybox.

LOL she might be giving just HJs in the massage shops but it would economically make any sense for her to just do that. These Thai girls meet guys in their flats in Delhi. They all usually stay close to each other in a building and have guys come over to their place.

Rest I don't dispute anything she says.

Ask her to visit South Africa, Brazil or any other African or South American country and tell me if her experience gets better. She probably will get kidnapped in some of the countries in first few days.

India is a massive country with population more than Europe, USA, UK, Canada, Australia COMBINED. Just like part of the Thailand or any first world country are not safe for foreigners, parts of India may not be safe.

I'm still open for suggestions.

Trying to see if there's a catch I'm not anticipating here?I was going to stay there before Covid. Rooms seemed pretty large and the pool looked nice. Great location for LK Metro, Soi Buakauo, Soi Lengee and Pothole. But I decided against it when I heard that it was popular with the large Chinese tours (and all of their busses). Didn't want to deal with all of those families everyday at breakfast and the pool. In the short term I don't think that will be an issue for you as I don't think there is much tourism coming from China right now.

Soi 7 use to be very busy with beer bars today it is less than half if noise is concern I would say no, Soi 8, same if you are in massage and extra there are a number.

Greetings all,

Making my first trip to Phuket in early Nov. I have been RTFF but unfortunately not a whole lot of recent info on Phuket hotels. I am looking for a fairly modern 4 star option close to the action in Patong, ideally under $75 a night. Something along the lines of Kee Resort or Hotel Clover but guest friendly which neither of them are. I considered Deevana Plaza but after reaching out to them, they were "pleased" to inform me of a 1500 b joiner fee. Bliss is another I am considering but it seems far away. Any suggestions? The main requirements are close to the action and a decent pool. Thanks in advance for any advice. This post moved from the "Phuket Reports" thread.

At $75 per night, you are marginally into the 4-star range. IMHO, "close to the action in Patong" means either OTOP area or Bangla Road area. Here are my thoughts:

R-Mar. I've stayed here, recommended. It's pronounced "Ah Mah", which means grandmother, I initially pronounced it per American style and my driver looked at me like I had 2 heads. Just a smidge north of Bangla Road, which means its a good hike to OTOP. This is 3-star, but still very nice. I recommend that you get something better than the "minimum" room because the "minimum" room is likely to have a view of the side of an ugly building. Other rooms have decent views of pool. The only negative of this place is that there are no walk in showers, you get a big tub with a shower and that's awkward for showering together (or getting in and out while drunk). Last visit there was no fee for joiner, but she is not allowed at breakfast with you. If you want her to join breakfast, you need to formally register her as a guest for the duration of the stay.

Beyond Patong. I've stayed here, but only 2 nights. I'm neutral on this place. Even further north than R-Mar, which means it is an even longer hike to OTOP but still easy to Bangla. It is 4-star, but I don't feel it was any nicer than R-Mar. I'm a fan of the "Beyond Resort XXX" group of hotels, but I don't think this is as nice as the others (I wonder if it is actually part of the same group). Still, it's a nice place. I don't know about joiner situation, I did BYO and registered her without problem.

Palmyra Patong Resort. I've stayed here, recommended. Even further north than Beyond Patong, which means it's a nasty hike to OTOP but still not too bad to Bangla. Decent 3-star. Not as nice as R-Mar, but has walk in shower. No problem with joiner (walk past reception and they don't even notice, they will collect girl's ID, but only upon my request). Suggest you get a pool view room (floors 2-7) but not the pool access room (floor 1); pool access means everybody in restaurant will be looking into your room and you pretty much need to keep curtains closed. There is another building that has no view of the pool at all, I didn't go in that building but it looks unappealing to me.

Burasari. I've never stayed there, but I've visited a friend there. I'll give a second hand "not recommended". Nice looking place with good service, but my friend had problems with other guests. This is near OTOP and should still be considered if you like the OTOP feel. It is guest friendly, but I don't know details. 4-star.

Holiday Inn Resort. I've never stayed here, but my friend who left Burasari said it's much better. I'll give a second hand "recommended" and it is 4-star. Close to OTOP, but substantial walk to Bangla. It is guest friendly, but I don't know details.

To me, the ideal location would be midway between OTOP and Bangla at a price of 2,700 to 3,500. I don't know what that place is.

Spent one night at Siam at Siam hotel and is girl friendly. Before pandemic the prices were around $100.00 usd, I got the room for around $45.00 usd. The bed was very comfortable and is walking distance to Termianl 21 and to Soi 6. Not to mention, Sabai and honey, and the Ladyboy show, can't remember the venue name is practically next door. The rest of the stay was at the baraqueda which also is very girl friendly. Many good restaurants practically next door on either side. Not too bad of a walk to LK Metro and an easy baht bus to walking street.

Holiday inn express. If green means what I think it does then the Acqua is, though it's outside on the smoking area on the balcony that each room has. That's a small space, barely enough for two chairs and a small table, but you get a view. I was especially blessed with a balcony on the side away from the street, facing Central Festival's parking deck, the Somerset and a few places like that. The great thing, at least with the upper floors on that side, is that no place close had a direct view. So I made a game of it by going naked out there with guest to inhale the combustible before going back in for bed.

The Acqua rooms are smallish but well-appointed with mod cons (good TV size and channel selection, in-room safes, good bathrooms, etc.). The rooftop pool is also a huge value-adder, and the staff is always friendly with the wais and opening the door for you and all. I got the deal of the year on Agoda for a longer stay in October that worked out to $12.88 or so net per night. In higher seasons I'd expect $25-30 at least, which is still a deal.

Thanks in advance.Condos are always GF! Never heard of any condo in Pattaya that not let you take girls. Also many condo not check IDs.

I been twice at The Base for fucking girls who live there and both times nobody asked me nothing, just meet girls in the lobby and went up to their apartment, fuck and leave.

You can check these condos: Unixx, The Urban, The Avenue, City Garden all are about a km walk from the Ibar / Insomnia.

Yensabai condo is 800 m from Insomnia but very old condo.

Hi guys, does anybody have any views / information on the One Patio Hotel please? I have booked it, but if the consensus is that it's no good, I can still cancel!! :) I am OK with the location, and have looked at online reviews, but I haven't found anything so far to put me off. It was a late booking for Christmas, so there wasn't as much choice as usual. Many thanks.

Hi all, complete newbie and first trip here. Not sure of the lay of the land. Can someone please give me some options of decent hotels to stay at? I know 'reasonably' priced is relative to the person, so just a few I can look at that are girl (s) friendly. Also, if you can just name an area, then I can just look at the hotels there. Wanting a place that's not too far and centrally located to all the action areas, within walking distance if possible with a room safe. Not sure if there's a place that's in the middle of all the spots mentioned in the Pattaya thread. Guess I'm just feeling a bit overwhelmed with so many options and areas for mongering. Thanks!

Can someone please give me some options of decent hotels to stay at? Try and stay between 2nd Road and Soi Buakhao, and then between the Sois 11 to 14. Some good hotels to check out here are Intimate Hotel in Soi 14, Areca Lodge and LK Metropole in Soi 13, The Scenery City in Soi 11. If you want cheaper then look between 2nd Road and 3rd road and check out Opey de Place and J&P Court in Soi Lengkee, and The Vogue Hotel, but those are probably for more regular visitors.

Stayed at Honey inn on soi honey right next to the Honey body massage. Pics show a pool but there is none. Had some issues finding a room with working AC, first two didn't work. Nice hotel and got free breakfast. We booked for 2 people but didn't get to use the 2nd BF meal when we had guests. GF, had guests a few times over with no fee or issues. Some bugs inside mostly drain flys, didn't notice any mosquitos or bites. Gets a bit noisy at night stops around 2 am, so just party til late and you should be good. Workers can get loud so if your on the 2nd floor you'll probably start hearing them early in the morning laughing and giggling.

Thanks in advance.Just returned from two months in Thailand spending 48 nights at Grand Avenue Condos on Soi 15. Beautiful place with nice one and two bedroom condos. The place was definetly GF. My room on the 8th floor overlooked the pool and I wached many a girl cleaning the guys place in the mornings and girls laying around the pool in the afternoons. There were signs in the elevators about <30 day stays being illeagle but I saw many rooms booked for only a week or two.

I used Airbnb and the price was about $30 per day with 20 tb a day for the electric. The company was MonthStayz they were very professional. The lady I checked out with told me I could save some money by booking directly rather than using Airbnb. They have a lot of properties in the Edge, Base and Grand as well as Jomtiem. It appears they mostly want 30 day or longer stays and you can find thier website at https://www.monthstayzthailand.com/pattaya/.

Probably the worse part of staying at Grand Avenue was waking through Soi Boomerang on my way back to the condo. Heaven Above was tough to pass many a night.

Thanks for the company links, most of the real estate agencies that I have contacted only looking for long term rent and don't care for less than 6 months. Anyway their website sucks, and most condo page not works.

I also went to several condos with a Thai friend to ask for contacts to rent for 30 days but almost all of them told me that they didn't manage the apartments and to contact real estate agencies, FUCK.

I agree thier web site sucks since they list 224 properties on Airbnb. It is hard to find all listings for a host on the Airbnb site so here is the link to thier landing page. I have found this is a good way to find reviews on thier other properties if they do not have any reviews for the property you are interested in.

https://www.airbnb.com/users/show/368330

My future plan is to find places on Airbnb and then contacting the company directly to see if I can get a better deal. You could try contacting them at whatsapp +66 81 9300559.

Or Line at goldstargroup.

Anyway hope the link helps.

Does anyone have any experience with hotels or apartments that are good for light sleepers? Specifically in quiet areas and / or soundproofed well. Preferable budget is up to $100/ night, but can stretch to $150/ night if there's an outstanding soundproofed option at that price.

I have in the past recommended the Whitehouse Condotel, for a variety of reasons. One of them was the chill vibe and low noise level. The noise level on Soi 13 near the hotel is low, especially by the standards of central Pattaya. Moreover, the Whitehouse attracts a lot of golfers who tend to retire early and get an early start in the morning. So if you're looking for someplace quiet, check it out.

Just my opinion, but the noise level in the area around the hotel is more important than the soundproofing of the hotel.Plus, there can be a big difference between rooms within the same hotel. When booking (eg through Agoda) it may be a good idea to send a message to the hotel to the tune of "I would like a quiet room".

Central Pattaya, or Bangkok for that matter, are hit and miss regarding noise. You're never far away from the nearest pneumatic drill or the nearest noisy bar. Some people can (learn to) sleep with ear plugs. Bring your own wax ear plugs, they're not easy to find in Thailand. Non-wax ear plugs are no good.

I checked their ads, setting the period I'm interested in (low season) and a maximum of €500 for 30 days. Out of over 220 ads, only 3 are available. Also they want 8000 baht cash deposit at check in, crazy!

I also looked at the apartment I stayed in in June 2022, the price doubled and the host doesn't even give me a discount privately.

Seems the prices on airbnb are skyrocket for the next low season.

The hotel grounds are really nice. But you do pay a price for the location and the peace & quiet. It is not like you can walk back and forth to the Go Go's every night with girls. Ha Ha. You will have to take taxis when you are with a girl. These hotels are great, however, if you already have a girl and want to spend a few days together just you and her. It's very romantic and you don't have to fly south to enjoy it.

Got burned with a week of absolute chaos and noise at the J W Marriott in Bangkok and now running on basically no sleep. And I need some quiet rest badly. My advice is go to Pattaya book a secluded hotel for first night then go out at night to some parts of town. I'm sure Pratumnak Hill is quiet but there's absolutely nothing to do there other than Kinnaree and Cosy Beach Club and no access to a convenient baht bus. Guess it's ok if you don't mind walking 3 kms to Walking Street or if you have a motorbike. For a more convenient place I'd go somewhere a bit more baht bus accessible. You can try the new Space Grand Centrepoint on Naklua Road. Google it if you don't know it. There are bars on Naklua Road but they are not noisy except for the very odd night. I'm sure if you stay on a high floor facing the water you'll be good. If you want to be a bit safer go down the hill and try Centara Grand Mirage near Wongamat Beach. For something more convenient ie. right on the baht bus route you can try Dusit Thani. I've only been for dinner and not stayed there but that hotel is so massive I'm certain that you won't hear any bar music in your room. Again, my first suggestion is the best. Book one night and go from there. These 5 star hotels usually don't sell out so you can book the night before.

Nicest hotels I have been to in Pratamnak Hill (small sample size) are the Royal Cliff Beach hotel and Intercontinental. Only to eat at each.

I just am hesitant because some people claim it's very quiet, but then there is the odd review or two that claims it's ear-shatteringly loud. Would appreciate if you had any hotel suggestions. I can't suggest you any hotel, because I always stay in apartment from Airbnb. But I have a friend who stayed at Unique Regency in Pratamnak soi5, with rooms facing the back and he said is slept well.

What I can suggest is to take hotel in some little side soi, so no bars and no traffic.

Pratamnak soi 2 and 3 are the best soi for quiet. Pratamnak soi4 is not much busy. Pratamnak soi5 start to have a lot of restuarant, bars and clubs after the why junction. Pratamnak soi6 have the night market, I don't know what time they close.

Cozy Beach should be fine everywhere, there could be traffic noise in the main Kasetsin Road with motorbike running fast with rigged mufflers and big buses. So look for hotel in the side soi. The Hill bar in Cozy Beach in Rajchawaroon can be noise sometimes.

I always go sleep before 1 am and I can't tolerate noise from bars or from traffic, so is always a nightmare to choose the right condo for me.

Keep in mind that stay in Pratamnak / Cozy beach without motorbike is a pain in the ass, you will need to use Bolt mototaxi everytime.

Good day,

I have a good amount of points from both Marriott and Hilton and want to ask opinions about either the Marriott Courtyard or the Hilton hotel in Pattaya. I suspect neither is very close to the main fun areas, but wanted to know if they are a reasonable distance. I suspect I would be taking a lady back with me (preferred), or find something like a massage gal that has onsite options.

Regarding noise, sleeping with ear plugs (wax!) is easier in Thailand than in colder countries if you set the aircon at, say, 25-27 degrees instead of 21-23. That's because the wax stays soft within the ear at warmer temperatures.

Jomtien Beach has baht buses driving by. It is on average quieter than central Pattaya but still no guarantee. With any accomodation in Thailand, you're never far away from the nearest grinder or peumatic drill. I stayed 5 nights at Jomtien Palm Beach resort. Good value for money if you don't mind russian being spoken all around you. I had a real view to the sea for under 2000 baht/night and I was high up and far away from any traffic. The hotel was not full though. I might get noisy once the hordes (Chinese?) are back.

I'm musing on taking a second trip, not even a year after my first. However the only major hurdle is the flight. I can do the flight, but I really don't want to fly 15 hours in coach. Why is premium economy 2. 5 x the cost of coach fucksake.

Does anyone know if any of the hotels in stumbling distance of the 6 are good? Centara Pattaya or Hotel Selection Pattaya? Anything that is a short walk that wouldn't constitute a bolt to get to and from the 6.

I had been recommended blackwoods Hotel Pattaya for my second trip, but that is a bit far from the 6 for me to walk. Ideally I'd like to be closer.

Don't even think about staying in Jomtien if you want action. Stayed at the Andaz in Jomtien a couple of weeks ago, thought I could get a balance of sex and leisure. Too secluded, 30 minutes Bolt ride away from Pattaya City. Girls were upset when they found out I was staying in Jomtien. But did barfine a hottie for LT. The resort was top-notch, room was spacious, big bathtub and shower for some good GFE use to set the girl's mood up, girl-friendly, no ID drop-off required and no question asked. Details in Pattaya Reports thread.

Good day all.

I am planning to make my inaugural visit to Pattaya with the plan of having some minor dental work done at the end of May timeframe. I normally stay at either Bonvoy (Marriott, Sheraton) or Hilton (also Doubletree) due to the goodies given because of my reasonable status. What I am finding is that those properties (with a few exceptions) tend not to be so convenient to the fun places. And their pricing is tough to deal with these days following the re-opening. I have read this thread and a couple of others back far enough to where it make sense but would like to put a question to the group. What hotels in Pattaya would you recommend that might be similar in style, service to the above hotels, that might offer a better value and are walking / reasonable Tuk Tuk distance to most of the fun areas. If this too broad a question, please accept my apologies and thanks to all that take the time to reply.

What hotels in Pattaya would you recommend that might be similar in style, service to the above hotels, that might offer a better value and are walking / reasonable Tuk Tuk distance to most of the fun areas. If this too broad a question, please accept my apologies and thanks to all that take the time to reply..It would help if you included your price range.

Yes Hiltons and Marriotts tend to be overpriced in Pattaya.

Just search five star hotels in your desired area and you'll be fine.

Have a look at Hermann Hotel, a great location next to the beach with oceanview rooms on Soi 12. The hotel is about 2 years old, very nice, and usually reasonably priced. When I checked it out last fall the walk up price was lower than the online pricing. Would also look at Blackwoods, an upscale hotel on Soi 7. Also Grande Centerpointe Terminal 21 which is attached to the mall. Kavara is a brand new hotel with a great location. It is so new that it still may be under construction but it will open soon if not open already. Also check out LK The Empress which is a beachfront hotel. Holiday Inn is beachfront, luxurious but just not as convenient to the action.

I would go with Hermann or Blackwoods personally if I were looking for something on the fancy side.

What hotels in Pattaya would you recommend that might be similar in style, service to the above hotels, that might offer a better value and are walking / reasonable tuk-tuk distance to most of the fun areas?Nobody travels by tuk-tuk in Pattaya. Sounds like Mr. Ryder is unfamiliar with the lay of the land. I suggest he buy an old-fashioned map and give it a little study. Fire up you favorite search engine and search for "Groovy map of Pattaya." He'll see that the parts of Pattaya favored by naughty boys are quite small and close together. If he stays in the central part of town, he can walk to most of them, or take the baht bus. Google "Pattaya baht bus map" to see the different routes.

As for lodging, sounds like Mr. Ryder is looking for something rather upscale. You get what you pay for, and luxury digs are going to cost. Generally speaking, you get more bang for the buck the farther east you go. Anything east of Soi Buakao will offer better value for money. There are several hotels in the LK chain in Pattaya, and they're well reviewed. The Areca Lodge has some nice rooms. There are also some nice condos at the View Talay 6 offered for short term rentals. That place is about as central as it's possible to be.

Sky.We had this conversation back in February. My answer remains the same. In my opinion, I think the Hilton is probably the best location in town. Treetown is within walking distance as is both Walking Street and Soi 6 but these two are also readily accessed via baht bus.

Hi All.

I am planning a trip this June.

I am looking for room or condo or villa or apartment with private pool or hot tub.

Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions.

Thanks.

Unfortunately that trip didn't happen, if it had come off as planned, I would have been happy to stay at the Hilton. It seems that many are happy to stay at the Hilton, as the price I was able to get in Feb / March is no longer available, and its not close. I don't think I am a cheap charlie type, but was asking to see if there were similar options. Thanks for the Treetown mention, I will give it a look.

BunkyGreetings Mr. Bunky,

Thank you for your reply, I now realize I need to be more explicit in my postings as to make sure those who read them will be left with no doubt as to my meaning. I would have thought that "I am planning to make my inaugural visit to Pattaya with the plan of having some minor dental work done at the end of May timeframe. " As well as "I have read this thread and a couple of others back far enough to where it make sense but would like to put a question to the group. " , would have indicated that you are correct. It is in fact my first visit, but probably better just to say that, lesson learned. While I can appreciate that using a map has it's advantages, even with names of hotels written in bold print it would not have been much good since I would have no experience. My purpose was to have access to the vast knowledge of those who read this forum and if they are so inclined to leave a message for my benefit. I am pretty sure that I indicated I had in fact read the forum a reasonable number of pages back. It doesn't seem to be that information coming from pre-2000 is likely to be that germane to today's environment. I do appreciate your offerings and will endeavor to be less obtuse in future postings. Thank you for your time.

I thought that naming the hotels I was asking for comparison would be a easy way to make suggestions, but it seems I should have just posted the price of the Hilton or Marriott and then asked what kind of hotels are options for a reasonable amount less. I will make sure to do it different in the future. Finding names of 5 start hotels is the easy part, the more difficult part is getting opinions from people that I have a pretty good idea are looking for similar amenities, at least that was my intent.

One of the popular affordable nicer hotels in the heart of Pattaya has always been Baraquda. It's part of the MGallery by Sofitel group. A smaller boutique style hotel on Beach Road is The Wave. A bit further out there are the new Space Hotel in Naklua or Dusit Thani at the Dolphin Round, both on baht bus routes. Now if you want true upscale, stay at the Royal Cliff in Pratumnak Hill. Can never go wrong with Royal Cliff if it's within your budget.

For instance one commenter mentioned Grande Center Point which is on average around $100 whilst the Hilton is on average around $150. Hilton is very central to everything whereas Grande Center Point is north, albeit on the baht bus route.

I don't know how long you plan to be in Pattaya, but perhaps just book the first two or three nights ahead of time and see how you like the hotel and location and then decide how to proceed. One of the best things about Patts is how easy and convenient it is to switch hotels because everything is compact and close. I never book more than three nights at a time.

take a baht bus or Grab car causes to get back and forth to the hotel. No Grab in Pattaya. Only huge scammer taxis and the odd Bolt driver here and there. Bolt is cheap so if you can get one that's great. A taxi from a hotel not on the main baht bus route may run you upwards to 200-300 baht per direction. There are also motorbikes for 50-100 baht but make sure you have good travel insurance for that. What I'm trying to say is get the lay of the land, figure out which area you will be going to most and get your hotel there along a 10 baht baht bus route. Safest area for first timers who enjoy bars is between South Pattaya and North Pattaya Road between Beach Road and Soi Buakhao.

As Mr. Boi notes, first-time visitors should probably book lodging in the area bounded by the beach on the west and Soi Buakhao on the east. Given the recent rise of Tree Town as a naughty boy draw, and the increasing action on Soi LK Metro, Soi Chaiyapoon and environs, I'm less enthusiastic about the north end of town than he seems to be. I recommend staying south of Pattaya Central Road and north of South Pattaya Road. In that area Tree Town and the surrounding area is within easy walking distance. As is the Central Festival high rise mall, and absolutely everything you'd ever need in the way of dining, shopping, laundry, gyms, barbers, cinema etc. When you head out for the evening, if you fancy Soi 6 it's silly simple to use the baht buses to go north on Second Rd. If you prefer Walking Street, take a southbound baht bus on Beach Road. For those of you who have been to Manhattan, the guidance is similar: For short distances, especially east and west, walking is easy. For longer distances, especially north and south jump on a baht bus.

I'm jealous. A gent only gets one chance to visit for the first time.

It is decorated in garish Rococo, with lots of fake gold, targeted at the "taste" of said Chinese. Very attractive deals can be had due to the absence of Chinese clientele. Hotel is strategically located at 3rd Street opposite to what officially is called Soi Chalermphrakiat 25, but what is better known as "Soi Chayapoon" or "Soi Pothole," an up&coming Soi with tons of bars, Gentlemen Clubs and massage joints.

Has this happened to anyone?

I was checking out of a hotel in Pattaya. Then the front desk staff member said I used their condoms in the room.

I think there was a basket containing toiletries in the room on top of the refrigerator.

I never use those because I bring my own condoms. I didn't even know there were condoms in the basket.

The mf guest before me must have used them and left without paying for them.

And I was on the hook for 100 Baht for the condoms.

I told them several times that I did not use them.

Not use.

It was not a pleasant conversation arguing about condoms that I didn't even know existed.

This one is always comparatively cheap because it lies at the wrong side of 3rd road. Unlike Beach Road and 2nd Road, 3rd Road is a high-speed thoroughfare where traffic doesn't expect many pedestrians to cross. No crosswalks of course. Could be a death trap.

I stayed at LK President for 1 night on NYE. Decided to stay there after canceling my trip to Japan and everything else was so expensive at the last minute that night. Everything about the hotel is the same quality you would expect at the other LK hotels. Actually, I believe it's newer than the others. I would pick Empress, Metropole, and Residence over it purely because of location.

I tried the cheapest LK hotel for 1 night just for the fun of it and I wanted a place near M Club. It's LK 19 Nineteen on Soi 19 between Buakhao and 3rd Road. Room was tiny. Not really LK standards but I think it was around $15 USD for the night back in 2016. The 2 maids were about the 2 cutest maids I had ever seen at a Thailand hotel. Regret not asking for some maid service.

https://www.lkpattaya.com/I just returned from an eight night stay at the LK Metropole. It a nice hotel, but does have some downsides. Even some of the nicest balcony rooms look out to an adjacent wall with no view whatsoever! Luckily, my room was on the 7th floor with a city view overlooking LK Metro in the back of the hotel. I had a massive room with a separate living area and separate bedroom; all for $52 a night. That said, they had no restaurant or room service. In addition, the pool is fairly small.

The LK Empress on beach road is nicer, but more expensive. In addition, after Covid a lot of the places around the LK Empress closed, so there is less activity around the hotel. But, it has a great restaurant with breakfast included, plus a very nice pool.

I agree with the comment about the LK President and the dangers of having to cross 3rd Road.

Still, all in all, the LK brand is very good!

Hey, have a 9 day trip planned for end of August / early September and thought I would ask for some advice as this is my first visit to Thailand, will be traveling from Sthlm, Sweden to Pattaya and based on the more recent recommendations I looked into LK Empress. Wanted to do a bit of exploring and general tourist stuff while obviously the main objective is to have fun with girls.

My first question is if this would be a reasonable idea, is this hotel alright with bringing in ladies, I'm not against paying a fee but would prefer it being not another 50 usd, and breakfast being included according to the menu and I guess there are decent lunch / dinner options nearby?

Second question is about location, I did my best to do some research on google maps but felt I got overwhelmed quickly, is this a good location as a "newbie"?

Lastly, order airport transfer via the hotel or are there any other good options, feels like if I take a taxi from the airport I will be scammed.

You should take a bus from bkk to pattaya very convenient option for 150 baht, do take sim from airport its very useful download grab or bolt taxi service and use it at pattaya to get to your hotel from pattaya where you get down. Just returned from Pattaya, stayed in Acqua Hotel while there. No real complaints about the hotel myself. Rooms are on small side, but fine for sleeping and fucking. In centre of a lot of action being on back of Tree Town and LK Metro. Walked frequently to other areas, it was about a 20 minute stroll to Walking Street and Soi 6, but on nights out got Baht bus to avoid being sweaty on arrival at venues. No problems bringing guests back, sometimes ID required, sometimes not, depended who was on guard at time of entry.

I was on level 2 so had no view outside, could only see wall of an adjacent building. There was however zero noise at night. When meeting friends in reception in morning heard plenty of people requesting room changes from noise outside (must have been facing roadside). This even happened on morning after the pre election, where no one was drinking, presumably. 😂 Breakfast was also fine when included in good room rate I got for booking. Wouldn't however pay additional for it.

As afar as transportation from the airport I would suggest that you at least take a look at Nam's Taxi service, easy to find on google. Again, I have not used the service, but the reviews are consistent and very good. I will be using them next month for certain. Nam's also gets high marks from a couple of other web sites that are more focused on Pattaya only. Hope your trip exceeds your expectations.
If you book Nam's Taxi in advance, it is only 1000 baht from the airport to any hotel in Pattaya. The last thing I want to do after spending 24 hours traveling is to mess around taking a bus. Just saying.Thank you both for your advice, I got to agree with Fmojo I just want to grab a cab, relax and then arrive at the hotel, happy to pay a couple extra for that, just wanted to avoid the usual tourist trap as last couple of times I was abroad it was for work / arranged transport by someone else. Also happy to see that Sky Ryder will be going to the same place, guess we both read the recent reviews, will need to look into and compare the prices for website vs Agoda / Booking to see which is best, looking forward to reading your report later.

Thanks!Everything Pattaya. You Tuber. Does hotel reviews. Moderately Priced.

Just saying.I just booked Nam's Taxi for a midnight pickup from BKK airport to Soi Diana, and Chanya informed me that they no longer offer small cars for late night pickups. So even though a small car would be large enough for me and my luggage, I really don't mind paying an extra 200 THB to ride in a larger safer car with much more room to stretch out after traveling halfway around the world on 3 grueling seemingly endless flights.

"We have only large sedan and SUV standby for late night pick up. The price is 1200 baht all tolls included for large sedan. ".

".Sorry for the bad info but I arrived at midnight back in September and it was still 1000 baht (and a small vehicle) back then. I think even at 1200 baht it's worth not screwing around with buses or finding a taxi at the airport. As an added bonus, I've had 4 different drivers from Nam's and they have all been cuties. Enjoy your trip!

I looked into LK Empress. My first question is if this hotel alright with bringing in ladies? I guess there are decent lunch / dinner options nearby? Second question is about location, is this a good location as a "newbie"? Lastly, order airport transfer via the hotel or are there any other good options, feels like if I take a taxi from the airport I will be scammed. The LK Empress is a solid choice. No issue or fee for joiners. The location is about as good as you can get for your first trip to Pattaya. Just steps from Beach Road, where you can hang out on the beach proper, or catch a baht bus headed south to Walking Street. From the LK Empress, you can also walk easily to Soi LK Metro and Treetown. If Soi Six is on your itinerary, you can walk east to Second Road, then catch a northbound baht bus. There are multiple laundries very close to the hotel. They don't show up on Google Maps, but they're all over the place.

No matter what you want to eat, you'll find it in that area. If you fancy an English breakfast, check out the Swan Pub and the Sportsman Pub. The breakfast buffet at the Lek Hotel is basic, but it's cheap and you can eat poolside. If you like a food court with multiple offerings and air conditioning, you'll want the Central Festival Mall, lower level. Want to try the local food? There are hawker stalls at the Soi Buakaow market, and on the north side of Pattaya Central Road, at the Pattaya Klang Market. Don't forget to have a slice from the Bronx Pizza.

Finally, let me add another endorsement for Nam's Taxi. Sure, you might be able to save a little money by taking the bus. But for the first time visitor hiring a car is the way to go.

FYI: Here's my routine when I get off the plane. (1) Step lively to immigration and take care of the formalities. (2) Collect your luggage and clear customs. (3) Head downstairs to the B Level, following the signs for the Airport Rail Link. (4) Change money at one of the exchanges near the rail link. (They have the best rates.) (5) Back upstairs to the Second Floor. Purchase a SIM card and have it installed. (6) Find your driver from Nam's Taxi. GUYS: I haven't done this post-COVID. How does Nam handle this? (7) Settle in for the drive to Pattaya. You'll have a connection to the internet to pass the time. The driver will usually offer a stop at the travel plaza about halfway. There is a 7/11 there. I always offer to buy my driver a cold drink.

If you want to be literally on top of the action; I'the recommend the LK Metro area to stay. The Areca Lodge is by far the most booked hotel in that area. The LK Metropole is another fine option. The LK Empress, while a fine hotel on the beach; it is a 10 - 15 minute walk to where any of the good action is located. Last point, you can always get scammed by a taxi service or any one of the limo services at the airport exit gates. Best to plan transportation in advance and do not pay upfront. Nam's is a fine service for 1000 to 1200, one-way, depending on the size of the car. They usually provide a bottle of water as well. Happy hunting!

The downside for me is lots of noise until about 3:00 a.m. If you're the kind of guy who never crashes until dawn, that's a feature not a bug. But I don't stay out that late and I like my quiet when it's time to sleep. I also like being closer to the beach and equidistant from the northbound and southbound baht buses. Finally, I never thought the walk from, say, the Whitehouse Condotel on Soi 13 or the Page 10 Hotel on Soi 10 to Soi LK Metro was even a little onerous. Ditto for the View Talay. And I'm an old pudgy guy who hardly steps lively.

On the other hand, heading inland will reduce lodging costs. If you one of those guys that just needs a clean basic room, there are good deals to be found in guesthouses and smaller hotels on the east side of Soi Buakao.

The breakfast buffet at the Lek Hotel is basic, but it's cheap and you can eat poolside. Is it open again? Last time I was in Pattaya (September 2022) the hotel was open, but without buffet. And the same applied to the Apex hotel nearby.
So I went to the buffet in the LK Empress (twice as expensive, and less choice), or Casa Pascal (also more expensive, but well worth it).

1200 baht through Agoda without breakfast. Close to Soi 6, athough the short walk there is not nice: narrow alley with traffic pushing you against the walls on both sides. Soft Sealy-style beds. Efficient loudless aircon. Breakfast worth its 200 baht. Swimming pool usable, though crowded during the sunny hours. 90% Asian customers. Late check-in (5 pm) rather expensive at 1000 baht. Also, there might be construction work in the offing between the hotel and Centric Sea (see screenshot, blue cross) but I don't know what kind of room you should ask for to look away from that. The windows are not especially soundproofed.

Centara is even closer to 2nd road and is certainly worth considering too. Bed softness would be a deal-breaker for me. How are beds are at Centara?

I feel like I'm doing things wrong leaving Pattaya now for 4 straight months just when hotels are getting cheap and girls desperate again, but summer beckons in Europe. If you can travel at any time of year, I'd say now is the time to beat the iron while it's hot!

1200 baht through Agoda without breakfast. The problem with these Agoda deals is they change the prices everyday.

Today is 1200, you check in (assuming you've never been there before), you see the place is good, you want to stay more and bim, price is gone up to 2500 the next day and you're forced to leave the place with regrets the next day.

By the way, that place was already at that price at the beginning of the month (some days).

I've never stayed at this one but stayed at two others from the same group (Aster and Arden) I found both to be excellent and a good deal for that price (excellent aircon, some of the best bed I've came across in Thailand, a washing machine with small kitchen, Japanese toilets, very comfy places, with a nice pool and the plus is the sauna).

I prefered Arden over Aster, asked them the price for 1 month, she said it starts from 48 K, I thought it was way too much for me.

Maybe by booking a few months before coming in Pattaya one can have it at a better deal.

Most were around 30 k if I remember correctly with Arbour being the most expensive. I didn't end up taking any of their monthly deals but stayed at a few of their properties and they're all legit.

That price change could be due to the day of the week (e.g., Wednesday cheaper than Saturday) or holidays. When making Agoda reservations for several nights, it might show an average price per night (e.g., 2000 per night). After purchase, you may look at the details and it might be 3 nights at 1500 baht plus 3 nights at 2500 baht.

These hotel booking websites also have a limited number of bookings that they can sell at a discounted price. You might pay 1500 baht and the next customer (5 minutes later) pays 2000 baht.

Looking forward to the trip although I am still 2 months away, hopefully end of Aug. / early Sept. Isn't a bad time for a vision.

Just to confirm with you, getting money ahead of time is alright but its recommended to do the exchange to local currency at the airport? Cause when doing some research in these threads and youtube videos it seems that using my card is just stupid, I have low cost withdraws abroad from my bank but I assume the exchange rate is still better at the airport and to withdraw a pretty large amount and then bring with me limited amounts daily for "adventures"?

Looks like they have five different types of suites. They all look OK, to varying degrees. The decor is similar to that at the hotels in the LK chain. Very ornate. Not my cup of tea, but I realize lots of gents like it. As for the location of the KTK Hotel, I see it's east of Second Road and east-south-east of Soi 6. The streets are a little tangled there, so getting from the KTK to Second Road is going to be a bit of a hike. Google maps says it's 550 meters on foot from the KTK to the Corner Bar at the northwest corner of Soi 6 and Second Road. Headed for Walking Street, it's a 900 meter walk to the west end of Walking Street to catch a southbound baht bus. The center of the SOI LK Metro complex is 1,600 meters distant. I hope Mr. Kontiki likes to walk. Otherwise, he'll probably be using motorbike taxis quite a bit.

Choosing a hotel is a very personal thing, and I'm loathe to second guess another gent's choice without knowing much more about his preferences and his budget. But if Mr. Kontiki seeks to stay "closer to the action," he can do a lot better than the KTK. As they say on the interwebs, YMMV.

CHANGING MONEY: Changing money in your home country before flying to Thailand is guaranteed to result in a TERRIBLE exchange rate. Absolutely no reason to do it. Using ATMs in Thailand can be just as stupid. Or it can be a very smart move. That's because the exchange rate can vary depending on what button you push. And the fees can be hefty. Both these problems can be managed. But you need to get smart. There are dozens and dozens of threads on ATM usage that will explain all. If you prefer to just deal in cash, the smooth move is to change at least some money at the airport. But don't use the money changers near the baggage claim. Go downstairs to the lower level and use the money changers near the station for the airport rail link. Again, many threads on this here.

The location may not be for all but I like staying in differenr central areas of Pattaya during my trips there just to change things up.

The good news is that Casa Pascal has reopened their breakfast / brunch buffet. Although for some reason they are closed between June 12 and 23.

Pity that the Lek and Apex hotels are not offering a breakfast buffet at this time. They were far from haute cuisine, but they offered a decent bill of fare and value for money. Perhaps when high season is upon us in a few months, they will reconsider. Meanwhile, I'm totally psyched to learn the Casa Pascal has resumed their breakfast / brunch buffet. The food is superb and the surroundings most comfortable. Even at the new higher price of 399 baht (+100 on Sunday) I think it's fairly priced. Don't worry about the 11-day closure this month. I saw a report elsewhere that they're just taking a bit of a holiday.

Has anyone stayed there or knows of the reality of the situation of me bringing a friend back to my room for some action. Thanks gents.Rather than "discount" (those corporate discounts are often marketing traps), I'd check a few points.

1) its location vs. The center of night life (whatever this is at your eyes, although they are all pretty much close).

2) guest friendly. All the non chain hotels are definitely girl friendly and eventually just ask for a joiner fee in case you plan a three-some and a second girl joins.

3) its room price incl breakfast (service and vat included) and room level.

4) most of hotels anyhow register the second guest even if it is only for ST. It's for your own security, so that could be a non-issue.

5) Pattaya si still Pattaya, so all hotels have seen anything and everything, they might want to save the face on their formal pages. Then they close their eyes if one is discrete.

Gents in been 7 years since I've been back to Pattaya. I am thinking of going in 3 weeks. What is the best girl friendly hotel to stay at close to the action in Pattaya? In the past I've stayed at the Marriott which is now rebranded as something else and the Mercure. Thanks in advance. Also what are some of he hotels that allow early check in? I may arrive Pattaya at 8am from bkk.Unless you are lucky, difficult to get an early check in. Better book from the night before and you can even have breakfast on arrival if part of the room package.

Hey guys, I will visit thailand next months and want to try some unusual thailand experiences with girl. But from all guides on internet a forums I really don't know what is the best way to meet some young lady. Not sure what is best option, call some girl, visit some place, just walk around city. Can you give me some good advices? Don't want to Loose time there. This is the Pattaya hotel thread, not the general pattaya thread.

As it seems you have a few months ahead, better RTFF and you will get all the answers you need.

People has already spent time in reports and information. Why should they do a concierge service?

The Hotel Baraquda is in central Pattaya, just east of Second Road, steps from The Avenue shopping complex. Easy walk to Soi LK Metro, Treetown and Sois Buakao, Lengkee and Chiyapoon. Northbound baht bus to Soi Six stops right outside the front door on Second Road. To get to Walking Street, you'll have to walk west to Beach Road and catch a southbound baht bus. Google Maps says that's 260 meters.

The "deluxe" room is the standard offering, and it's pretty nice. If you want to splash out, consider booking a suite.

BunkyAs of December, The Avenue mall has basically nothing open. Some vendors on the lower level on carts and tables, but no place inside to shop.

Granted it's been 6 months since my trip, but I would hardly consider a semi-abandoned shopping mall to be a selling point for their location.

Yes the mall has mostly unrented space but the location of the mall is excellent. Mall places I visit: Robin Hood Tavern (restaurant), bank ATMs, movie theater, Villa Market for western style grocery shopping, and even McDonalds.

https://www.hotelbaraquda.com/I was trying to book Baraquda for September. Unavailable on Accor website. Unavailable on Expedia, Agoda, Hotels etc. This is the Expedia message "Is Baraquda Pattaya Mgallery currently open? This property is closed from June 1 2023 to December 31 2024 (dates subject to change). ".

Oddly you can still book rooms on the link Bunky posted but I think I'll pass on the risk it may not be open when I arrive. What a shame. This is one of the best valued hotels in the city not to mention its close to LK Metro, Soi Buakhao, Walking Street, and most importantly, Casa Pascal.

When I mentioned that the Hotel Baraquda was close by, I wasn't suggesting that was a selling point. I was merely providing a nearby landmark. As most gents are aware, it's possible to walk east through the ground level of The Avenue and reach Soi 15, Soi Boomerang and Soi Buakhao. Plus the Grand Avenue Condo and the Centara Azure Hotel.

Now that the buffets at the Lek and Apex hotel are closed, and the people from Casa Pascal are enjoying a well deserved holiday, I had to look around for other breakfast buffets in this area.

LK The Empress, 7 - 11 AM, 300 Baht.
Lots of choice, more than last year. They also have dark bread now, for example. I mean darker than before, not that brownish bread that is something in between white and dark.
However, the coffee there still sucks.

Centara Azure, 6:30 - 10:30 AM, 293 Baht.
The choice and ambience are comparable to LK The Empress, but the coffee is much better, and they also have freshly baked dark bread. But only one type of bread, not 3 or 4 like Casa Pascal.

I will be in Pattaya for my birthday in November and wanted to spend a night or two at a luxury resort or something like that. What would you guys recommend? Will most likely bring a 'girlfriend' with me too for at least one night.

I was looking at Grande Centre Point Space since it looks cool and has a small waterpark for guests.

Would like some recommendations for fine dining, as I will be splurging for my birthday and not be as frugal as I normally am.

I'm looking for hotels near street walker action, basically walking distance from where I can get street walkers back to my room after a short walk. Preferably quiet, so thick walls and under $70. Any recommendations?Note: When we talk pricing around here we prefer to quote rates in Thai Baht because readers hail from many countries. USD $70 works out to 2,380 Baht (at 34 Baht to the Dollar).

Most of the freelance street walkers can be found on the west side of Beach Road, between, say Pattaya Central Road and Pattaya South Road. Also known as the "Coconut Bar. " There are plenty of hotels on the east side of Beach Road. I recommend using your favorite search engine (Agoda is good) to search for a place that looks appealing to you. Bear in mind that the freelancers tend to congregate toward the southern end of Beach Road. Once you've identified a prospect, you can search this forum for reports on that hotel, plus online reports from Tripadvisor and so forth.

Bear in mind that Thai girls absolutely HATE to walk. So their idea of a "short walk" will probably differ from yours. If you're going to do this, I'd suggest a hotel within a couple hundred meters of where Beach Road turns into Walking Street.

Be advised that traffic there can be intense, especially during high season. It's going to be noisy. Finding a "quiet" room with "thick walls" is going to be a challenge. Also, the hotels on the east side of Beach Road south of, say, Soi 13/2 are pretty basic. On Soi 13 there are some nicer places that are only a short walk to Beach Road. I've long recommended the Whitehouse Condotel. It's a chill place that caters to early-rising golfers so it's usually pretty quiet at night.

If the "point and shoot" experience at a modest price is your goal, consider Soi 6. Or the massage shops on Soi Honey. In both locales you'll take care of business onsite. Book quiet lodging on, say, Soi 13 or on the east side of town closer to Third Road. Just a suggestion.

The rooms on the east side are facing the Dynasty Inn hotel, where punters and girls are often partying on the balconies late at night, and the beer bar at the corner of Soi 13 and Second Road.

I believe the rooms at the west side are Deluxe Rooms only.

First I want to thank everyone that took the time to respond to my inquiries a few months ago. I finally made it to Pattaya and checked in the LK The Empress on Friday evening. Check in was handled quickly and with a smile. The put me on the 8th floor with a nice view of the condo building next door and a small section of the beach. It is okay, I am not in the room for the view. Just have to keep the curtains drawn and taking a lady on the balcony is out of the question unless she likes to be watched.

The room is clean and spacious and the bed comfortable. Internet is okay and the housekeeper for my room is a treat. Of course it might be that I gave her a nice tip after making sure she was the one for my room every day. Got extra towels and water in the deal.

My package includes the Breakfast buffet which is extensive and has an egg station. I am sure there are better in town, but this one is more than sufficient. The hotel is about 20-30 steps from Beach Rd on Soi 12, now I just have to figure out how to get where I want to go from here and how to find my way. That is half the fun.

I paid 18 K baht for 8 nights all taxes and fees included from Agoda. I will stay here again for certain.

Again, thanks for the input.

Sky.

I finally made it to Pattaya and checked in the LK The Empress on Friday evening.
My last stay at LK the Empress was 2017 and the floors were so highly polished that they were dangerous slippery wearing socks. I almost injured myself from that. A month later my friend stayed there and he had the same impression.

Has the slippery floor problem been fixed? That is a show stopper for me.

Overall: very good breakfast with huge variety, no issues with girls (except 1 , who was 19 on ID but they don't allow under 20's).

Rooms and bed very good standard (I was in king Suite).

Location convenient to all places.

Only bad thing: balcony. I specifically wanted one and thiers was tiny, with a hot ac extractor making it impossible to sit there) see pic.

Dear Seniors,

I am coming in the beginning of September and will have to work from 18:00-03:30.

I need WiFi for ZOOM / G-Meet / facetime. I do not need movies / large file downloads, but latency is important.

Needless to say, I am looking for girls-friendly places (hotels / apts). 6 years ago, I stayed at a wonderful place which did not let visitors leave and got their cards before I oked their departure from my phone in the room or personally escort them out. But it was too much noise at night (I did not care then). So LK Empress sounds like a winner, except where did they take 20+ policy? Why not 18+??

Also I am not limited to Pattaya -- I would be happy to take a nice, attentive girl-friend for a vacation, but I have no idea how to find such a person. I am not successful in mobile apps, as people misrepresent themselves, so references would be greatly appreciated -- Please PM, if you can.

I stayed at the Blackwoods hotel on Soi 7 for the first time and really enjoyed it. It's a newer hotel and the price is reasonable. About $60.00 usd a night. Not only is breakfast included but so are the drinks and snacks left in the room. Basically two sodas and potato chips and rice crackers. House keeping was on top of things. I would go to breakfast and by the time I went back up to brush my teeth, the room was done. Laundry was cheap. For one tee shirt the cost was $40 baht. In Bangkok, for the same tee shirt the cost was $178 baht. Location was great for me. About a 10-15 minute walk to Soi 6. 15-20 minute walk to LK Metro. Easy access to the baht bus for a trip to Walking Street. This has become my favorite hotel in Pattaya.
