If it's a SAWASDEE it's girl friendly - they take down their ID, some take the ID and return it later, but they are ALL friendly. Seaview is the highest price, though
I just got to muang thai. Now to recuperate from 30 hours of travel...

Heading off to Pattaya and BK in a couple of weeks, any opinions / comments about Sabai Lodge ?
Heading off to Pattaya and BK in a couple of weeks, any opinions / comments about Sabai Lodge ?Hi!
I stayed at Sabai Wing (many names, same chain) this year.
I think Lodge is just another part of the hotel.
I liked the place, OK rooms, Quiet, nice pool, internet access, and girl friendly. (2 girls no prob)
Close to Big C, and the bars at soi2 and 2 roads is OK
Honey pot is worth checking out.
Massage parlours if you like that is within walking distance.
What I liked the best is that it’s a quiet, laid back place and still easy access to the action.
I will stay there on my next trip.

I met a farang in Bangkok on my recent trip who told me to check out the AA hotel on soi 8 just off Beach Rd. The place was only 850 baht and it was terrible. The toilet leaked and didn't really flush. Only stayed there for one night. The Dynasty hotel is also located on soi 8 and it was really nice. 1200 baht. Everything worked. Good water pressure. I also stayed at the Hotel Areca on soi diana just off 2nd road. It was a really nice hotel. I was quoted 1200 baht, but charged 1380 at checkout even though I didn't use anything from the fridge. One thing that pissed me off was that they had a policy about only having one girl over the age of 20 in your room that I wasn't made aware of at check in. In the evening they put up a little sign stating the policy, but if you walked by the counter during the day it wasn't there. There was no way to know until it was too late. I mentioned that they should keep the sign up at all times, but every time I went by during the day it was not there and even in the evenings it was often hidden behind another sign.

First time with a girl 24yo but without ID Card, only a copy of it. And 2nd time with a girl 19yo with ID Card. Both times reception stopped my guest and I had to say goodbye to my barfine-money. I was very angry about this policy because made me lose 2 nights of happiness!

Is is possible to rent a villa/mansion in or around pattaya , with a swimming pool.
Im gonna be there next month for a few days with some friends and it would be awesome if we could find such a place to have some wild parties dayin/day out ;) Would be no problem if someone from the forum wanted to come as well as long as they could bring their own girl and booze.
I found an interesting place - Siam Firebird on soi 9 off second road toward buakhao. It's at the end past Skaew Beach hotel (sort of "deadend" soi). Clean, TV fridge, AC, about 2 years old - low season rates 400B. Quiet, though, but numerous bars on the short soi and a major beer bar complex is just down 2nd road to the left maybe 100m across 2nd. Short walk to soi buakhao as well across the open field.
BEATS SAWASDEE at 350 ("mansion" on soi 11) or more even with the "discount" (although the "15 days pay for 10" right now would bring the cost down significantly) About the "best" low season deal I've found and a nice place as well. Finnish owner - nice guy Marko
Interested in the Siam Firebirs. Please advise if they have contact info.
Many thanks,
Cactus J
Unfortunately, you just need to show up at the 'Bird. I think they only have 9 rooms. No internet or anything I can see. Nice place though - even better if you speak Finnish (which I don't)

Hello brothers,
I have been to Pattaya 4 times now in the last 3 years and usually stay at the Dynasty Inn on Soi 13. I like the location. I will be back again in September for 2 weeks and would like any info you can provide on a place with a kitchen, my "girlfriend" wants to cook for me. I will be diving in Jomtien so that is an option as well. I am looking for someplace inexpensive as I blow most of my money on mongering and diving.
Thanks
IT Travel, this doesn't help you with your choice of hotels, but if you check China airlines, they have a business class fare from AMS to BKK for 1700 Euro.

can anyone recommend a good hotel that is girl friendly. i don't particulary want to have the other residents peering over their spectacles in disgust when i'm escorting the ladies off the premises in the morning. nor do i want to be hassled for joiners fees at night. i know that the 5 star hotels are not girl orientated but i do like a bit of comfort and don't mind paying for it.
thanks in advance.

I've stayed at the Dynasty Inn in Pattaya and found that it was a nice hotel in a very good location for the type of action I was looking for.

thanks in advance.i would say that at least 95% of the hotels in pattaya are girl friendly and do not charge a joiners fee for bring a girl back to your room. they do charge if you bring more then one girl back with you to stay the night. i'd research and find the hotel that fits your budget and the area you feel that you will be spending most of your time. then e-mail them asking them if they are girl friendly with no joiners fee for bring a girl back to your room for the evening.

I stayed there for 7 nights-I got a deal stay for 7 & only pay for 6 so it worked out that I paid only 650bhats a night.
The sunshine is located on soi 8 between beach rd & 2nd road.
Great location with many beer bars on the soi & only a 3 minute walk 2 the beach. It has 2 pools, 1 of them very small & secluded, good suize bed, fair size room, clean room & bathroom, friendly staff, pleanty of tv channels but I wasnt there 4 the tv, no room safe though but 1 is available in the lobby 4 free, for it being on a busy soi it was quiet place & most of all the place is girl friendly-no joiner fee
I liked the place & I will go back.
A few friends and I are heading to Pattaya in August 2007. I have been to Pattaya a few times in last couple years. I have stayed at the Sandy Springs and Whitehouse on Soi 13 (as well as one night at the Haven). Last year I stayed for a month at Tropical Berts near Soi 6. ALL great locations and easy to navigate from there.
Sandy S. now has inroom wireless internet and their daily rate was quoted to us at 1290b/nt. Whitehouse quoted 1250b but another 100b for the ADSL line in room so they come in at 1350b/nt. Bert's is very economical at 700b/night but the wireless connection on the 3rd floor is spotty.
Our hotel requirements are simple: Internet in the room is a MUST for business, Hotel shoud be INSIDE the Baht Bus route (between Beach Road and 2nd Road from Walking Street to Big C). Crossing 2nd road while is a pain in the ass so I prefer a hotel INSIDE the the route only crossing second road to go to some of the beer bars and to head up Soi Diana. I have looked at several hotels through the links at www.pattayafest.com but I know that is only a small sampling of the hotels available and there may even be new hotels without much of a history.
We are looking for a Hotel <1000b/night, Internet available in the room, Hotel located between 2nd Rd/Beach Rd inside Baht Bus route, Girl-Friendly.
Any suggestions?

Amocuba,
One place you may like to consider (though I have never stayed there) is Eastiny Residence (Tel 038 711157) in Soi 10, right next to the Sawasdee Seaview. It is between Beach Rd and 2nd road, and IMHO excellently located for beach rd hookers, and just a few minutes walk to Mike Shopping Mall. I asked at reception there and they have internet in the rooms only on the top floor (7th). The other floors do not have internet and are 100B cheaper. The rooms with internet were quoted to me at 1190B. The place appeared new, so might be nice, and worth the extra expense. You would have to check if it was girl friendly though. A few pics attached of the place.

The AA on Soi 13?? The little sign scam is a typical "Thai R Scum" trick. Try LEK hotel (Soi 13 at 2nr Rd), price around 800-1000, better rooms and as many broads as you can afford.
They have a good website www.eastinypattaya.com. It is full of useful info, the Eastiny group has 5 hotels in Pattaya. Emailed them 3 days ago about GF policy, no answer yet. It looks like a good place.

How about a hotel on Soi Buakhao ("2 and a half" road for those who don't know) with internet in the room?? A bit farther but a nice place, cheap and clean
Jasmine Mansion on Buakhao between Soi Honey and Soi MetroLK - low season rates 650B. (It's WIRELESS though)
Anyway - for those of you out there with wireless, they offer "free" hook-up with purchase in the restaurant/bar (they give you the net code). Sit back, have a beer or a meal and surf cheap - better than paying 30B/hour at one of the cafes on Buakhao. Food was good, too.
Baht bus runs to South road and usually turns toward 2nd and then usually goes down 2nd (a few go to Jomtien). At MOST it will cost 20B to get somewhere (10+10 - each - 2 rides)
They have a website - google "jasmine mansion pattaya"
Many reports in this thread about ER, they are GF but the security at this hotel at night is a joke so be sure to lock your doors. Both the Security Guard and the Night Clerk are notorious for sleeping while everyone is walking in and out.

They also have a go-go bar down below callled the kitten club and this place is one of the best. This hotel is also girl friendly. I will be there the first week in August myself as I have already made my reservations. Swedeman007 Have your RTFF
You should. The reviews for that hotel are not good my friend. I would cancel this reservation and pick an other place to sleep in during your stay.
Me I am cheap so I am staying at the sawasdee seaview (wing be the new one) with the special stay 4 nights and get 1 free it's a good price (680 Bath per night).
My thoughts.

What is the go in Pattaya as far as a second lady Joiner fee?
Are there hotels that allow a second lady FOC? Or do they all charge assuming they know an additional fee?
Cheers,
Fleetz
I think most of the hotels in Pattaya are girl-friendly except for the 5-star hotels which will charge BT 500 for each guest. But there is one serious problem with some of the hotels in Pattaya in particular those owned or managed by Germans or Dutch: they are not friendly with coloured, blacks or Asians. I am particualrly referring to Queen Hotel infront of Tops supermarket and Sunshine Hotel. So if you are African,African American, Asian, Middle Eastern or of Chinese origin, I advise you to go somewhere else. You wont find the receptonists friendly there. I usually go to Carlton Hotel which is located in front of Alcazar show. Most of the people are retired Westerners and usually they are asleep by 8 o'clock.

Maybe try the Pattaya Centre Hotel, a tall hotel located on Soi 12, Beachroad. Price range from 1080 to 1490B according to a website I read. Has a pool too.
I have never stayed there so I can’t verify much. Just a suggestion you might like to look into. Pics attached.

Marriott is nice but there is no reason to overspend like that in Pattaya. The Whitehouse Condotel is fairly upscale and should meet your needs. It's expensive compared to other hotels on this board but worth it imho. They have their own website www.whitehousecondotel.com.
Their suites are huge and its far less than Marriott. I personally would book the mid-level room (deluxe I think its called). If you liked Marriott you are best off avoid the B600-1000 hotels often mentioned on this board.

FleetzHi,
Earlier this year.
Sabai wing (http://www.sabailodge.com/sabaiwing.htm ) didn’t charge me for bringing 2 TG
Residence Garden ( http://www.theresidencegarden.com )charge me for that.
But I read that some members here have had 2 TG there with no problems, so I really don’t know what’s the deal is in that Hotel, maybe I was just unlucky with the receptionist.
Besides that 2 I stayed at Sunshinevista some years ago and took 2 TG with me without a problem ( http://www.sunshinevista.com/ )
I think it can be from day to day if you have to pay for the second one or a joiner fee.
Depending on the one that registry the joiners, and how good hands you have with that person
A nice little tip or something to the right one isn’t that bad sometimes.

Marriott quality without the cost, about 1500 baht delux room. Good location on Soi 13. Walk to Marriott in 10 minutes. Right on the corner of Soi 13 at 2nd road is Wonderful Bar, great for a few relaxing beers - 40 baht at happy hour

How about Sunshine at soi 8? Or try Twin Palms at Beach Road. Of google on "pattayanightlife" and search for hotels. I assumed they have a list of girl-friendly hotels in Pattaya.
As for myself, I am an Afro-European from Holland. Of course are most of the Germans, Belgians en Dutch a bunch of racists towards non-whites!!!
Most of them have has there felony's (some affecting aliens) in there homeland, but they like the "cutes asian puppet girls" so much!!!
Just seeks for Thai-controlled 3-stars hotels and you will be ok!!!

The rooms are nice, the pool on the third floor is nice and I think the location is also half decent. There is no safes in the rooms but at reception there is safes. I prefer safes in the room but I can make do. The girl policy is "id's at reception" otherwise there is no problem. From what I rember internet was in the rooms aswell.
I think I usaully pay 8-900 during this time of year. Its a clean hotel with very nice staff.
Anyone recomend a clean hotel around this price with internet and safes in room?

You can save money, and have a nicer room too. For those staying at least 2 weeks, you may consider renting a condo in Pattaya/Jomtien: http://www.ViewTalayCondos.com

I agree with the Traveler:
I stayed at the Metropol two years ago, nice gym, excellent location, good service, (and: no cockroaches).
Be careful, though, when you book the LK Metropol Mansion, which is on the same block, just around the corner, same compnay like everything else on this block:
Their suites are very nice, tastefully furnished in a Thai/bali modern style, guest can use the hotel's facilities (pool/gym/lobby tea, newspapers etc.) as well.
But be aware:
The two Karaoke bars/shacks across the street are VERY noisy, unless you are out and about til 2am.

Frankfurter,
minor correction :
There is no LK Metropol Mansion but only a LK Mansion (which I don't like, had a look at their rooms).
Actually there are different LK's in Pattaya, LK Mansion, LK Metropole and the LK Royal Suite.

Do you have an interent link to this hotel, and how is it girl policy (I would like they keep the ID at reception!)

It Travel,
I never had any prob taking more than just one girl back to my room.
If you like them to take the ID of your "guests", just tell them at check-in. You may also keep the ID yourself and lock it in your in-room safe.

I have never had a problem there in 3 stays.
I prefer the deluxe pavilion with the large balcony/sala and the 2-4 person terrazzo bathtub. The hotel is located away from the nightlife so some kind of transport (car/bike) is useful.
The best advice for entering, especially if you have multiple guests, is to bypass the lobby. I usually rent a car and park in the undercover carpark - this way you walk past to your room while never being near the lobby. As the clientele here expect a certain standard, I try not to take diffeent girls to breakfast, but as with all 5 star hotels, they dare not question a guest.
I would like a better alternative to this hotel- price not an issue, but have yet to find any other quality aprtment or hotel in the area. Any ideas?
LK Metropole and LK Royal Suite have very nice apartment style accommodations. They are not right on the beach though.
LK Mansion is always booked up so I have never actually seen a room in person but it is not the same caliber as the other two places.
http://lkpattayahotel.com/
Sorry I am just reading the rest of this thread now . . . LOL, I guess we are all thinking alike. I think the LK properties won't have a problem with one guest at a time but if you plan an orgy - best be more discreet.

Although it isn’t long ago that I recommended LK Metropole, during my current stay in Pattaya they tried to screw me:
Here is what’s happened:
-I requested a quote for a 12 day stay by email.
-I was quoted 15,125 Bht. For a Standard room, internet and breakfast included(Which is compared to their internet rate not a bad deal.)
-This was confirmed by them.
After I got there they tried to jack up the price to 20,000 bht. I showed them the print out of their email, still they wouldn’t budge. “Sorry, sorry, we made mistake.” BS.
What kind of a business is this? I will never again set foot into this place, nor in any other of their establishments.
Actually, they did me a favor:
I walked down the street half a block and booked a spacious, tiled, super clean room, balcony, internet, pool, fridge, AC for 650 Baht. The name: Oprey De Place.
Thank you very much, LK Metropole A**holes for saving me the equivalent of a daily barfine!
I didn't want to say anything till I read your last post. Played golf with a guy who was staying there, he said it was the worst shit hole he had been in in Pattaya, nothing worked, internet, shower, he was really pissed. Glad the truth has finally come out. Charlie Place, just up the Soi Dianna towards 3rd road was very good last year, no breakfast, but Dianna Dragon is right accross the street for 100b. Friend of mine stayed at Oprey De Place last month and was very impressed.

Yes, really, I like to thank these LK Metropole A**holes for trying to take me for a ride!
It's now my third day at Oprey De Place, it's just a great relaxed nice hotel.
I can sit with my laptop at the pool, the wireless works, they have a great little food place on the premises, people are very friendly, at night its quiet, security collects the IDs of the girls I bring to my room at night, but other than that, no issues at all.
I will definitely stay there again.

I stayed in the Sawasdee Pattaya accross from the MK Metropole on Soi Dianna. It is a fairly low end place as is the one 2 blocks over on Sio Bulau Sawasdee Siam. Lots of teribly drunk Russians and low end folks. It was stupidly cheap, 400b over Christmas. The suoerior rooms extra cost was for a mosquito net, nothing more. My understanding is that all of the Sawasdee Hotels are low end but great value if that's what you are looking for.

I have no first hand info about that place but read something about it at another site. Since it's not allowed to post links to competing sites I have sent it to you by PM.

I have never had a problem there in 3 stays.
I would like a better alternative to this hotel- price not an issue, but have yet to find any other quality aprtment or hotel in the area. Any ideas?
Try NANA. Sounds like it would be perfect for you
Just wondering if anyone stayted at the bj holiday lodge and is the recent construction noise an issue?

I've stayed there twice, the last time for one month from mid Feb. to mid March of this year. 26000b special long term rate. I like it very much. It's a laid back place with a nice restaurant, free wi-fi in the lobby, only 100 meters to the beach, and a very friendly competent staff. It's nothing fancy but very clean, well run, oh, and girl friendly too.
The owner, BJ, (Bill Jones), is a founding father of the Pattaya bar and expat scene who has many interesting stories to tell about his 40 years there.
Can't tell you about any construction noise as there was none going on while I was there, but there is a bus parking lot right next door which makes for a lot of noise in the early evenings when all the tour busses full of Japanese tourists from the hotel across the soi return from their rounds.
I would stay there again.

Stayed for 1 night only should have been there a week, room poor for a so called deluxe room and location not to good.
Moved to Soi 13 Sandy springs excellent 1290thb a night free wifi till end of august!

I stayed in Sunview place on my first trip. 700ht a night(, new romm, very spacy but abit far from the action (in Soi Buakow and if you're new, it might not be recommended).
Second trip I stayed in Areca Lodge. Very nice hotel, a bit pricier (1.200 bht a night in high season), but they gave some of the girls I took to the room shit. It's normal you have to hand over the ID and such, but on some nights the receptionists were asking the girls alot of questions (where do you work, for how long,...(none of their business actually)) in a way that made my girls really upset. Appearantly the manager (bitchy chick with a fake smile at reception) wants to promote the place more to 'normal families'. Good luck with that I would say since to get to the hotel (on soi Diana, between second raod and soi Buakow) you have to pass alot of open bars with thai girls screaming at you. Wouldn't want to take my kids to such an area.
A very good site to get information about hotels, prices and booking online.

Yes the above hotel is girl friendly I suspect all hotels on Soi 13 will be girl friendly.
A group of friends, there's six of us, are going to Pattaya 2nd week of August. We would like to rent a villa/appartment with a private pool, can anyone help? Or is there a resort which would give us access to pool surrounded by just our six suites. can anyone please help?
Has anyone stayed at this place?

Hello brothers,
I have been to Pattaya 4 times now in the last 3 years and usually stay at the Dynasty Inn on Soi 13. I like the location. I will be back again in September for 2 weeks and would like any info you can provide on a place with a kitchen, my "girlfriend" wants to cook for me. I will be diving in Jomtien so that is an option as well. I am looking for someplace inexpensive as I blow most of my money on mongering and diving.
Thanks

I have read lots of reviews about Sandy Spring hotel and whitehouse condetel and I keep reading bad and good. Can anyone else give me really good reviews like I dont want to get charged jioner fees and I want my stuff to be safe. Thanks for all the help guys. Also if anyone wants to know I have been to Pattaya 2 times last year and stayed at the Marriot and it was great but yes it is pricey.

Also if anyone wants to know I have been to Pattaya 2 times last year and stayed at the Marriot and it was great but yes it is pricey.I stayed in White House for 5 days in May and found it to be great. I will stay there again. Clean, good quality room, good staff, and no problem (no charge) bringing up a girl to the room (although I only did on a couple occasions). I think you will feel safe and comfortable there, and they do have larger rooms and suites if thats your preference (I had a standard room for 1,250 baht).
I actually moved there from the Dynasty, where I had problems with malfunctioning AC (which they wouldn't do anything about) and bugs. After one night there I decided to check out and move next door to the White House where I was very happy.
I stayed at Sandy Springs about 3 years ago, so my review is obviously dated. But for what its worth, I remember Sandy Springs to be very good. All three hotels, btw, are in the same general price range for standard rooms (1,200 - 1,400 baht per night approx.).
Anyone tried Royal Benja hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 5?
Also I'm considering about Swiss Park hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 11
Are they both girlfriendly?
Any advice?
I have stayed at Royal Benja hotel few times. The hotel is very good with big rooms , big king beds and the service is excellent. The free breakfast is very good also.
My opinion about being GF is mixed. I have stayed there with my thai Gf and she checked in with me.
Few times I stayed there alone I booked online for two people. I got away with bringing the girl in saying each time I booked for two. The front desk clerk does not know how much I paid. Although the general rule is if you book for two the girl has to check in with you. I do not think the hotel is overly GF because lot of families stay there. i have seen many guys bringing girls in and checking at the front desk. I do not know whether they paid extra.
Another good thing with this hotel is they have only one type of rooms.

"Hotel has a good location, Room is spacious and clean, breakfast has a good choice. Major disadvantage is that (although travelling alone) I booked a room for two persons, but I was forced to pay 600 baht to bring in a visitor in the evening. Therefore, I won't stay in Royal Benja again."
Above is a recent guest review, July 2007, that was posted on Asiarooms page of Royal Benja hotel.

Keep your receipts and record of everything you sign in that hotel (LK Metropole). They also try to sneak a little extra into your bill when you pay with the card. Overall, high end rooms are nice. Service in the coffee shop is lousy. Lots of entertainment in the immediate vicinity. WS is not that close so wear comfortable shoes. Marriott is in a good location, great common areas, pool etc. but their rooms are depressing. The bathroom was the size of something out of Motel 6. Very overpriced for what you get. You can get a much nicer room for much less in Pataya.

Please advise on a nice ~$100 USD Hotel near to the beach and to the actions in Pattaya. Thanks for your help.
Sorry, all the good places I know cost less. But if you insist, you can pay me the extra and I will give you several nice places in the $30-$60 range. Or you could read the forum.
I brought 2 guests more than once, without a problem (LK Metropole). Can't be very discreet as you enter in full view and walk to the left, past the desk, to the elevators. The problem with that particular hotel is that they try to overcharge you. First by telling you to pay additional 5% for using certain credit cards, then by email stating they forgot to charge you for one of the meals etc.
Does anyone have any information about Hotel Beverly Plaza (59/35 Phratamnak Road). Also can someone recommend a hotel in Pattaya with in room safes. I appreciate any information.Anyone? I'll be in Pattaya in a couple of days and appreciate any replies.

I know the location but have never stayed there. Beverly Plaza is on Pattaya Second Rd very close to walking street. It's a good location in terms of walking street. The area has a large Arab customer base. I would personally not stay there.
I like Residence Garden (3 min. by baht bus from Beverly Pl.) and Whitehouse Condotel on Soi 13. Sandy Springs on Soi 13 also gets good reviews. Soi 13 is a little quieter but easy to get to walking street by baht bus.
What is the room rate at Beverly Plaza?

Has anyone stayed at this cheap place?
I hope to stay there for the majority of my 4 week trip 2 LOS, it looks OK.
500 bhat a night. Can't go wrong, or can I?
It has a pool.
GF or not-guest fees once or twice a day makes it not worth it.
Any help would be nice &any1 want 2 get together during Jan23 - Feb 19th.
apex is a hotel. good access, directly on 2nd road so baht bus to door is only a matter of crossing the road (which means picking your time and moving right along - it's on the right side of the road), some rooms better than others. GF of course - right in the area of lots of beer bars
There are reports buried in here as well.
Tried 1 night myself and found it wasn't any different from others for 100 or 150 less.
The breakfast is OK but bad if you tend to overeat. It's not such a good idea to eat heavily in a hot climate

thank you very much 4 your reply.
i have seen the place during my visits & with next trip being high season, this hotels prices remain consistant year round unlike most others.
i know all about the overeating in hot climates, but this small guy loves his food, thats why the pool is there 2 burn off the food before the daily activities begin & there's always [CodeWord901] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord901)'s if 1 can't move around so quickly after a hardy breakfast.
sounds like the breakfast buffet is decent.
wonder how the dinner buffet is.
i think we have found a winner 4 this cheap charlie & 24 nights.

Is this place guest friendly?
Is it too far from the action, on North Pattaya Rd. near the Lotus Shopping Center?
My last visit to Pattaya more than 20 years ago.
I like a nice room with a couch. Makes for nice videos.
I not only act and run the camera, I chose the cast, direct, and make sure there is a pretty set.
Thanks

I stayed at Mantra Pura last December and found it to be an excellent Hotel with superior amenities and services. However, it is no where close to any find of action. They have a tuk-tuk shuttle that will take you from the hotel to Soi 3 or 4 on Beach Road. The regular bus does run near the hotel but not with the frequency of the main areas, hotel is gf and is a refreshing alternative to many of the non-stop mongering hotel locations. They had a problem with ants when I was there, left some food out and about what seem to be a million of them decided it was for them.

I will let you in on a little secret in Pattaya/Jomtien. There is a resort right in the jungle which is close to all the action and is great. It is Called The Sugar Hut. Here is a trip advisor review I wrote... (Matthew8203) http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g293919-d577068-Reviews-Sugar_Hut_Hotel_Pattaya-Pattaya.html The price for me was 4100 THB per night (around $120) The trick to get the good rates is to present a business card and tell them it is a business trip.(I just gave them my own personal card.) Nothing beats bringing a girl back to the Thai style huts and having great sex. The Thai food is the best in Pattaya and all you have to do is order room service. They have a shuttle to the street where the motor bike taxis are waiting. (quick and easiest way to get around Pattaya) This is the Thai way which will make your trip an unforgetable experience. Take care and have fun!!

Evil,
a few years ago I checked a lot of hotels along Sukhumvit for a friend of mine who is a travel agent. Also went to Swiss Park and had a look at their rooms, Wasn't impressed at all. They told me to charge a joiner fee (260 baht as far as I remember). A double was 100 baht more expensive than a single, and the joiner fee was therefore 100 baht less (which makes 160). All in all they charge you for joiners or at least they did back then.
Nevertheless, this is the Pattaya Hotels thread, not Bangkok hotels.

In the past I've stayed at the Oreca Hotel (soi Dianna) because they were girlfriendly and they had a (basic) fitness room. I havent been there for nearly 2 years now, but I was planning on returning until I read the recent unfavourable reviews. I'm due to fly out to Thailand the end of the month and I now find myself looking for a girlfriendly hotel with a fairly decent gym. Staying fit is important to me and a hotel with a gym is one of the first thinks I look for. I was also considering the LK metropole, but again the recent unfavourable reviews for this hotel has soured my intent to stay there. I'm aware the more upscale hotels general have excellent fitness rooms and I would willingly pay the rates if these hotels were girlfriendly. So my question is are there any other hotels that are girlfriendly with a decent gym/fitness room in Pattaya?

Here's a list of some Pattaya hotel website links. It's a very eclectic list ad by no means exhaustive. There are dozens and dozens more - hundreds probably if you include no-name guest houses and rooms above bars. Prices start at 500 baht on the low end. I haven't stayed in many of them, but I have visited almost all of them and seen the rooms. My reaction ranged from "Nice" through "OK" to "UGH!" As always, YMMV. Check out the Websites if you want more info. Every one of these hotels has its supporters and detractors. All to my knowledge are guest-friendly but all may not be monger-friendly to the extreme. I'm not making recommendations, just supplying information.
I have excluded the big international chain hotels because info on them is widely available elsewhere.

This has been covered before. Best hotel gym is in the Marriott. If you don´t find what you are looking for you can go to Tony´s.
I stayed at the Mecure Pattaya 2 weeks ago
The first thing reception said when booking in was if we brought girls back there would be a charge, but we argued/kicked off and they said there would be no charge (we had booked 2 double rooms) and sure anough there was no trouble all the nights we stayed there, the rooms are a bit small and the biulding site at the front of the hotel was very noisy so get a pool facing room, but the staff and food and swiming pool were very good.
Looking for a hotel in the ~1000B range that has the following:
- Needs to be located close to the beer bar action - Soi 7-8 area
- Should have a safe in the room
- Good large beds and decent bathrooms
- Good hot western breakfast in the coffeeshop
I have read through a lot but cant seem to make up my mind. Thanks in advance.
Silver Sand Hotel, Jomtien beachfront, nr to Soi 7.
Decent budget rooms from 800B, albeit slightly soft beds & no elevator. Fine once you remember to set the aircon properly (default is just a fan). Very 'open' foyer, and totally GF-friendly. Quick 100B / 5min taxi around the corner to Pattaya; I find Jomtien a bit quieter, alhough still plenty of bars/MP. Seems very popular with Norwegian/Danish farang boyfriends. Also lots of ladyboys (but very friendly & relaxed), so watch out for beer-goggles! Plenty of girls too, but more choice (and higher scoring) in Pattaya.

Hello Guys,
I just came across the web site for this place and it looks real nice. Does anyone have and info on it? It has been a year since my last visit, but I will be back next week. I can't wait. It says on the site that they are located on Soi 15 at Second Road, just minutes from the beach, Walking Street and all the major entertainment areas. We are directly behind "The Avenue", Pattaya's newest five star shopping complex which is now open and provides our guests with 24-hour access to Second Road via a short walk through the mall.
Thanks again, If anyone wants to meet up and grap a beer let me know.

It's getting to be a very popular place. I just reserved a room for three days at the November, one of the only two they had left, they told me.
However, they don't require a credit card number to reserve rooms, so I imagine there are probably a lot of no-shows and last-minute vacancies. You might want to try again or ask them to notify you if there are cancellations.

Hello folks,
I will be traveling to Pattaya after the new year. I think I have finalized to two hotels namely Apex Hotel, Sawasdee Pattaya Hotel or Sawasdee seaview Hotel. There will be four of us and I was wondering if the locations in these hotels are good but most important, how near is it to the heart all the action. I am fine with basic amenities and AC(most important) and was wondering if there is a guest fee on these three. I checked the map and it looks close enough but I just want to be certain. Last but not least, is it safe enough being cheap and all? Thanks.

The Hard Rock Hotel a 1/2 block away, the beach is 1/2 block away, there is a Tops Supermarket(1/2 block away)(great place to catch a bite to eat or to buy groceries or to use the internet) and of course just outside of the hotel is alot of beer bars, fantastic massage places . Walking Street is a short taxi away. The bottom line is that it is a great location for everything. The rates are very reasonable and of course that includes a free buffet breakfast. When you bring a girl to the hotel all she has to do is leave her ID at the front desk. There are safety boxes at the front desk for your valuables and in the rooms the a/c is great and there is a mini-bar and a little fridge. Soi 7 is a short walk away as well as soi3 and I suggest to take the motor bike taxis to get to walking street.(50 THB) (it is the quickest and easiest) The good thing about her leaveing her ID at the front desk is that it protects you. The last thing you want to do is be with a girl under 18 years old. (big time jail time) I am very familar with Pattaya after going there for many years. Take care and have fun.

I think the price per day is a tad too steep. It has about the price of a 5-star hotel in Kuala Lumpur and I don't think we would like the thought of that bugging in our heads. 3-star or a budget hotel will be fine since we are only there to sleep at night. I was wondering if Pattaya will have enough activities to occupy us during the day since its a nightlife town? A newbie here and we are planning to arrive at the peak season where we believe the lady's will be at the maximum. I have a friend who would want to spend more on drinks and girls and he will be pissed mad if I am getting anything over 1,000Baht/night.

was in pattaya recently and would like to highly recommend metro apartments to any budget-conscious travelers.
pros: rooms very clean and good size, shower and air cond work well, great sports bar downstairs, friendly staff (especially na) and a great host in dennis, the owner. him and his staff really get to know you and make sure everything is ok. everything you could want really from a budget place to stay. i like the location on lkmetro, just off soi diana (close to areca lodge), surrounded by other bars, hell, [CodeWord900] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord900),couple of gogo's.
cons: although listed as pro above, being surrounded by so many other 'entertainment' venues makes it impossible fora single guy to walk to/from metro in peace. some of you may also want to be closer to beach rd / walking st but i liked the walk (15 min to beach).
cost: around 600b per night
summary: outstanding value. would definitely be back. book well in advance as it fills up quickly.
also stayed couple of days at robin's nest:
pros: super clean. management really do pay attention to this detail. constant cleaning isin evidence. nice open plan restaurant at street level.
cons: although only 100 yards from metro, this place is noisy! both from the surrounding beer bars (loud music and constant cries of hellooooo, wellcuuuuum hansum man) and because the walls are thin so noise from other rooms travels easily. another main downside is that the beds (i mean mattress) seem old and are very uncomfortable.

summary: the stuff i wrote about really put me off this place, but i feel maybe i am being harsh writing this as the managament and staff really run a great operation here and so full marks for effort.

Creamz,
I always stay at the Flipper House on soi 7, good hotel, good service, no joiner fees. http://flippergroup.com/flipper_house/index.html
You can always book one night at a hotel and look around to see if there's a place you like better.
Looking around the Eastiny website, it seems like a new property and has many of the in room facilities I am looking for (in room safe and wifi internet acess). I was wondering if any one had any first hand knowledge on this specific property.
Thanks in advance
Fellas, need some comments on this place heard some good and some bad any help on it's current condition would be a help. The info I have had is many moons old.

Bell End,
I also stayed at the Mercure approx. two weeks ago before I went to Cambodia.
They never ever mentioned a joiner fee and never tried to add one to my bill. Be discrete and just walk in with the lady of your choice. Since they have electronic key cards no need to stop by the reception, even though you have pass by to get to the lift.
Could someone tell me if there's any constuction going on around Areca Lodge right now? I'm heading there on the 30th of Oct. Also what is halloween like in Pattaya?

Any suggestions on hotels like Areca? Is the flipper house better than the lodge? Would like to have a pool. Thanks
Stayed there in may this year, nothing too special about this place, i stayed in the new wing, the bathroom looked a little tired, but it did have a nice little balcony. You can avoid the reception if you want to being up more than 1 lady, as the new section has a seperate lift.
The location is great, heaps of bars around, i was never woken up by any noise, but i am not a light sleeper.
I would stay there again, i have stayed at Acrea which i prefer, but liked the location of sunshine better.
Hope this helps

Hi all,
Last February, I spent 6 nights at the Grand Hotel in Walking Street.
Although I found the rooms very nice and not so expensive, I have never seen any report about it in this forum, which looks strange to me because it's right in Walking Street.
Am I missing something?
The staff was friendly, until I brought a girl in. After that, they were more "distant", but still ok.
Since I am planning to spend again some nights in this hotel, do you have any (good or bad) comments about it?
Thanks

I am there now. Most of my previous posts about it remain valid: I still recommend it. The one amendment I have is that I previously recommended requesting a room in the Residences wing ending in the number 6 or 7 because those rooms are furthest away from the beer bar noise. Currently, however, there is a massive construction project underway along the side of the wing that has those room numbers, so you want to avoid those rooms for now. Instead, be placed on a high floor to reduce the beer bar noise and take a room number ending in 2, 3, 4, or 5.
Two other excellent hotels to add to the growing list of Pattaya Hotels are the Golden Roof Boutique Apartment on Soi 5 by Beach Road and Imperial Residence. Golden Roof has huge apartment type rooms that start from 1000b but the internet service is not free. The hotel is right next to Best Beach Villa Hotel and the Thai lady that runs the place is very user friendly and accommodating. No web site but the number to the Hotel is 038 362 189. Pros to this hotel are huge rooms, very quiet soi and gf. Cons; no gym, pool or free internet but a real good place to stay, some pics below from hotel.
Imperial Residence at the end of Soi 10 by beach road is a relatively new hotel. Nice view of the beach from the rooms, you can actually make eye contact with the beach road walkers from the balcony if you dare. http://imperialresident.com/

Hi Every One,
Again in Heaven, before trips I had stayed at Dynasty Inn, Soi 13. Good hotel, a little pricy. Now I mention the NEW DAY NIGHT HOTEL, reasonable price on South Pattaya, . Has any body stayed there before? Any comments? Girl friendly?
Thanx friends

They told me the same in BKK but when I told them that my booking was for a double room they checked it in their reservation system and backed up.
Always book for a double room. After all it's the same price.

Currently, however, there is a massive construction project underwayMore specifically, I was referring to the construction of the Central Festival shopping center, roughly between Soi 9 and Soi 10 between Beach Road and Second Road. It's scheduled to open in 2009, so be prepared to put up with the mess for a good while.

Well just got back from two weeks in Pattaya, I checked out the new Pattaya Bay. I was considering it because of their promotional rate thru the end of the month, can't beat 700 baht a night for a new hotel. But I did not like the location, there is too much construction back there and my gf was scared to walk back down the road there after dark. The rooms were very plain and they did not have a bathtub, yes we are spoiled. Hehe. It maybe nicer next year when more of the construction is completed. We decided to go back to Soi 13, we like the location and proximety to Royal Garden Mall.
Take care and be safe.

Hi,
I haven't been to Pattaya for a while, so I would need some update of nice and guest friendly hotels in Pattaya. Basically I would prefer the following:
- nice 3 or better 4 star hotel
- nice and spacious rooms, AC is a must, also clean bathrooms
- close to the action (so using one of the bath buses gets you there)
- nice pool area
- no joiner fee or any other bs like this.
I don't care so much if it is 100 bath more or less expensive, but just want some nice and relaxed time there. I read something about the new Mercure hotel, but don't know if they are gf friendly or not.
Any recommendation is highly welcome.
Thanks - and I will post a nice review after my return. Also if someone else is in Pattaya around the last week in November/first week in December, maybe we can meet up.
Need some help here. Cannot find much info on tim boutique, and its about the sane price as the Sabai Lodge. I stayed at the Areca Lodge last time thought it was great, but heavy construction there now. I'm getting there the 30th of Oct. I need some info if its out there.
Now that I've done some researching. Not sure if the Sabai Resort or the Sabai Lodge is a better spot? Any comments welcome.

I prefer the Sabai Inn to the Sabai Lodge, as I feel that it is much better value. I have not stayed at Sabai Resort. Sabai Lodge has nice swimming pools, which Sabai Inn lacks, but you are totally welcome to use the pools at Sabai Lodge, and it is a walk of maybe 30-40 meters across the street from the Sabai Inn's front door to the main pool of the Sabai Lodge.
IMHO, the rooms at Sabai Inn are as good as the ones at Sabai Lodge which go for 50-75% more, and far superior to the cheapest rooms at Sabai Lodge.

Hi,
I haven't been to Pattaya for a while, so I would need some update of nice and guest friendly hotels in Pattaya.
One option for you is a new hotel, the Pattaya Bay Resort (http://pattayabayresort.com). Room prices range between 1,400 baht and 3,300 baht. For 3,300 baht/night, you can get the "Presidental Suite," which is great value for money (check out the description on the Web site). It has a roof-top pool. I haven't stayed there, but a friend has and he said it was fantastic. Good location, too.

Any idea if Pattaya Bay resort is girl friendly or is it more a family kind of hotel?

Last year I stayed at the Day Night 2 which is the monthly apartment style lodgings owned by the New Day Night. It's located just a block away from the New Day Night and you have full access to their pool. I stayed with a friend and for both of us in an air conditioned room it was only 5500 baht per month. With one person I believe it's 4500 baht per month. Very girl friendly with an added bonus. Alot of the rooms are rented by girls who work on walking street and they were more than happy to come "visit". Met more girls in the building then I met in the bars. The bar downstairs has bar shots for 30 baht and pitchers of Chang for 100 baht. Not a 5 star by far but a nice clean place and the rooms are huge. Just thought I'd add this as most places I see on here are alot more expensive and thought it might help people like myself who travel on a limited income. I'm going back in January and styaing 3 months.
P.S. It's in a very gay friendly area so if you are homophobic might not be the best place for you.

This is from the Pattaya Bay Resort's Web site (FAQs):
"Q: Are you joiner/over-night guest friendly?
A: Yes, all joiners or over-night guests are always welcome with a smile by all of our staff.
Q: Is there an additional charge for joiners/over-night guests?
A: All of our rates quoted are for 1 or 2 persons sharing the same room. Therefore, if a single guest brings back a joiner, there is no additional fee. If you have a third person in the room, there is an additional charge of 500 baht per person, per night."
People who've stayed there confirm that is the case.

Does anyone have any good tips on these types of hotels that are definitely girl friendly (including 2-girls at a time) and within walking distance of all the action on Pattaya Beach/walking street? Not a fan of snooty places, just something with a memorable Thai-style, clean and 5-starish. Budget would be USD 100 to 175 per night. Thanks in advance!

Bonzo1,
I stayed here about a month ago. Nice pool, great gym, excellent location. OK breakfast buffet. I came from staying at the Shangri-la in Jakarta, so I was spoiled. But for Pattaya, it was the best place I´ve stayed and no problems bringing in girls. There are a couple of ways in which avoid the walk of shame past the front desk. This has been written about previously on the forum. If you phone the international reservation number in the U.S. you can get a special deal on the weekend night prices.

Last time I stayed at the Intown Holiday Hotel on Soi 11, past 2nd road. A very good hotel for only 500 baht a night in low season. I'd like to find something similar, but for much cheaper. A serviced apartment or condo. Most of the ones I've looked at are in Jomtien, which is not the greatest location because it takes so long to get to the action areas. I'd like to find something in the Central Pattaya area, not too far from Beach Road.
Thanks
I have been to Thailand 7 times now, but I have never been there near the Christmas or New Years time frame. I never seemed to have a problem finding a room with no notice in Pattaya, but a few times I have had a hard time getting a low priced hotel in BKK (where I wanted to stay anyways).
I will be in Bangkok and Pattaya during mid to late December and I don't like planning my hotels too far in advanced because sometimes I like to go back and forth between Pattaya and Bangkok.... mostly due to free pussy I have here and there.
So... during this time of year is it more difficult to find rooms without a reservation? When I go to Bangkok I will try Dynasty Inn in Bangkok, and probably Dynasty Inn, or Areca Lodge in Pattaya.
Guess I'll ask the same question in the Bangkok forum too.
Thanks

It's not updated but it has the numbers to get info about renting a place. You can get your room serviced whenever you want for 100-200 baht. It's about a 2 minute walk to the baht bus route And it's about a 10-15 minute walk to walking street so you're close to the action.
most of the rooms/serviced apartments are in the 4000 to 7000/month range but you buy the whole month.
Just got back from 6 nights at this hotel. Room very clean, excellent staff. Free wifi and girl friendly. ATM and currency exchange location about 3 minutes walk- on beach road. Taxi to walking street not a problem. They go by about every 40 seconds. Biggest problem and why I would not recommend right now is the construction next door. Lots! Of banging and hammering. My a/c didn't work one night and they promptly moved me to another room for the night and said I could change permanently. There were some tiny ants in the room but they didn't bother me. No roaches seen. The construction seemed to go on from 8 am til 7or 8pm. Could improve if they got rid of the ants and put more soap and shampoo in the rooms. Hope this helps someone.
Hello,
I am looking for hotels that are in walking street, of the style of galaxy suites and that the quality-price is reasonable.
Thanks and sorry for my english
Gentlemen, it's been a while for me. I mean a while... A couple of far too long years since having the opportunity for LOS. I'm finally heading back just for 3+ days the very first week of December. I was very surprised to see how much my old fav has increased. I stayed regularly at the Siam Bayview for US$60. but now it's US$115. And that's not all bad currency rate.
I stayed once at the Flipper Lodge and it was okay, the biggest problem was being over the beer bars that were nosiy till dawn. My question for seasoned vet's is, are there quieter rooms at Flipper Lodge and does anyone have experience with Flipper House? Any better..?
Thanks all,
AGL
Hi,
I have tried to seach for some good information about a longer stay in hotel - for me longer is 3-4 weeks.
Can anybody recommend af middle class hotel/hotel appartment - where you also have access to facilities - and where you get cleaning everyday - slean room/bath etc.
What would be the approx. price level for such a room for 3-4 weeks if we speak about mid Jan to Mid Feb.
The hotel should be girl friendly, and it is fine if it is like a party hotel - but you must feel safe there.
Does anybody have some links that still work to such recommendable hotels.
Thanks in advance

Hotels in Soi 8: Ear plugs do the trick every time. Seriously.
Hi there,
I'll be in Pattaya in February.
Can anyone please recommend a hotel, on the quiet side, with free internet, for under 2500 THB. Girl friendliness is assumed.
How about Jomtien Pinacle Resort?
Alternately, since the internet bit is important, how does one search for it, without emailing/calling each hotel to ask?
Thank for your help,
Daddy San
Hi Freeler,
It's been a long time! Glad to see you still in here... After 20 years of award winning travel I ended up on a bit of an uncontroled hiatus for the past year and change. Things are looking up, hope to be back in swing.
10-4 on the ear plugs but they don't seem to work too well for me I'm afraid.
I'm surprised, in general not too many tips on hotels this time around from this section.
Thx,

AGL,
There are soooo many hotels, guesthouses and short time rooms in Pattaya, that it's impossoble to start naming them.
However, my advice to newbies remains the same as it always was: Get a reservation for any hotel in Soi 8 and look for other places on the second or third day, and move.
Prices? Fan from B250 are usually ok, below B250 probably iffy. Aircon: B350 should get you a nice room. B450 up buys more luxury.
Anything over B1,000 is a waste of good money that should have been spend on pussy.
You see, one should N-E-V-E-R forget the pupose of the trip, which is to find, fuck and forget good pussy:) - not rooms, beer:( or whatever:(!
Dear Freeler,
Are you saying that you can get a good decent hotel room. Clean, safe, good bath room. Maybe some facilities also for less than 20 dollars per day.
Most of the places I can find on the internet cost about 40-50 dollars per day.
Is it easy to get good deals on hotels when you are there. Also in January/February. And can it be recommended just to buy the flight ticket from home. And then book hotels on arrival?
Somebody mentioned some hotel apartment. Can somebody give some link to some of the good deal hotels. Does anybod know of some special party hotels. Where a lot of things are going on. Party, miss wet t-shirt and other nice activities. Where a number of girls frequently are coming. Maybe using the pool, or what ever.
Are things/activities/hotels. And girls. Still cheaper in Pattaya than for instance in Phuket?
Hope to get some good answers and hopefully some good links.

I want to rent the secrets Villa, and take there some nice Thai pussy, but of course it costs money... you did not mention food: ikra (Caviar) is always on my menu when in Russia, as nice fresh pink pussy!
If you want a budget trip just tell it... I think we all have suggestions (me too for RUS and UA), but if we want to stay in a villa with a croud of teen it's our metter... or not?

G,
Under $20 (about B600), easy.
If you know where to look you don't have to book in advance, but I think newbies should as Patts can be a bit overwhelming.
The worst I've been through was when a reservation was cancelled when I arrived at the hotel because 'you didn't pay in advance'. Mind you, no one asked or told me to pay in advance. I left and checked with 4 or 5 hotels before I found a good room. This was a couple of days before Chinese New Year.

My regular hotel says it is fully booked for the months of December,January and February and on top of that room price might be higher these 3 months.
Is this the norm in Pattaya at this time?
If so, will I have to stay in Rayong or Sri Racha or Chonburi and commute daily by bus? Will Jomtien or Naklua do as a better alternative?
I normally spend 500 to 600 baht for the room a day.Any advice for rooms with hot water 500b and below for one week or more stay will be welcomed.
Thanks.
By the way I am 60 now and I much regret I discovered Pattaya only last year
and I am from Malaysia
Member,
In Pattaya just about every room comes with a hot shower.
Prices are not higher in the high season, they are lower during a 3-4 month period in low season.
There is no need to stay in surrounding towns, tho Naklua is so close that you could consider it to be Pattaya. In Pattaya proper however, as stated before, there are plenty rooms to go around. All you have to do is look for them.

Gentlemen. I appreciate the comments. I'm going to try Flipper House. I envy those with the balls (and experience) to freelance their arrival. Good on you mates.
I'm flying solo Dec 4-7 so if anyone is looking for a mate to converse with over beverages while weading through the lovlies, give me a shout.
AGL.
Free - hot water unless you stay in a local fan only room.
Here's a possibility for the cheap charlies out there -
A place being built (might be open now) Yankee Noodle, Soi 4 Jomtien 100m from beach road, right side of the soi across from Lotus House - 5 rooms, bath (with hot water) in the hall was installing AC but don't know if in yet. 400B I think - a bit spartan but certainly inexpensive enough.
Take the baht bus from 2nd and South intersection for 10B. About 300m after the turn onto the beach road from Pattaya

Hello, i'll spend 2 days in pattaya next month and for this reason (such a short time^^) i'd like to find a cheap hotel (1000 bath max) in/near Walking Street.
I've been browising the past topics and so far the hotel i liked best is this one (at least from the pics on the site):
Galaxy Suites: http://www.galaxysuitespattaya.com/rates.php
anybody have been there and could tell me about rooms/service/cleaness?
Other hotels I considered:
http://www.jasminehotel-pattaya.com/booking/rezeasy.html
http://www.tycoonplace.com/rooms.html
the pics on the site aren't very clear, someone could comment on the rooms?
http://www.secretspattaya.com/hotel/rooms_and_rates.php
Same as the one above.
Thanks a lot
Just spent 4 nights in Pattaya. My first choice of hotel (from skimming this board) was Secrets. I called 2 days in advance and they were full.
But I booked transportation with them from BKK-PTY, B1500. I was met by a cute young girl in a nice car for the almost 2 hour trip. Taxi would have been cheaper, and I possibly could have lined up other transport. But I arrived at midnight, had little time to plan, and chose the easy approach.
I had booked my second choice hotel, The Vault. She took me there. I didn't do a lot of research, I just picked it. Wanted the standard room for B1100, which seemed high. Not available, so I booked the Long Room for B1400, seemed even higher. Same ammenities, just bigger. Standard would have been fine.
The owner, Michael, from the US was very helpful. He took me to a Soapie and bought our drinks while I was choosing a girl. Good guy. But I didn't like the location on the extension of Second Road. About an 8 minute walk thru lots of traffic to Walking Street. Nothing of interest near the hotel, so I made the round trip walk 3 times a day.
Free wireless and cable, no restaurant or club or bar. I wouldn't repeat.
Spent the next two nights at Secrets. It's 30 seconds from Walking Street,
B850, same ammenities as The Vault, smaller room, but fine. This would be my choice on a repeat trip. Better price and location.
Most important piece of advice to 1st timers (or 3rd timers like myself):
When crossing the street, look both ways at least twice.
I thought I was fine working my way through stopped cars from one direction, now I just had to find an opening from the other direction. I saw it, got ready to dash across, hesitated for some reason - that's when a motorcycle came flying down a non-existent lane (at least in my inexperienced opinion). If I hadn't slowed myself, I would have been killed or seriously injured. My vacation would have lasted 8 hours, with 5 of them sleeping.
That afternoon I saw a German woman on a motor bike get hit by a Thai. She was tough. She was laying on the ground, the bike was cracked up, her arm didn't look good, and she was feeling her abdomen and pulling out her Hospital card (she lives in PTY). At the same time she was pointing to the Thai guy saying "It was your fault, you hit me". Not sure how that ended, except she went to the hospital, and he walked away.
Be careful! Traffic is the biggest danger.
I am not to Pattaya, but stil like to reserve hotel from home. The best place to reserve i find www.asiarooms.com.Low prices and all tax included. Good luck and see me very soon in Pattaya with god's will.
It has a swimming pool and the back door is facing right at the Dynasty Inn Pattya across the street, the approx address is Soi 13, Pattaya Beach Rd.
Thanks a lot!

That would be the Lek Hotel. By the way don't eat at the buffet dinner there. I tried it once and ended up with bad diarrhea.
There must be more than one Lek hotel because I've stayed in another one called that - I can't remember where it is though.. somewhere relatively central (I am shit at knowing my way around and I don't know the streets of Pattaya that well).
http://www.asiatravel.com/lek/index.html looks like the one you are talking about... the one I am thinking of is v basic, but does have in room (wired) internet in one of the rooms if you ask - about 600 baht a night.

Lek Hotel is next to Mike's Department store. Mike's have a entrance on Beach Rd. and extends through to 2 Rd. to the parking lot. Lek is around 600-650 Baht a night. Personally if I was staying in that area for that price I would rather stay across the street at Apex Hotel ( if you can get in ) Lek is too dark of a place for me. So dark for me you can't see the food at the Buffet! Maybe that's why you got sick! What you can't see you can't compliant about.

Stayed at secrets for 5 days good room very clean, good food. Very nice staff met some of the coolest people in Thailand staying and working there. The owner Ben was very nice, as was everyone else, close to everything I wanted to be close to. Great place to stay for first timers. 850 a night.

Gentleman,
Wondering, First time in Asia yet alone Thailand. Think of doing Pattaya, wondering best hotel around 50-100 a nite GF guaranteed, not to noisy and close to the action. Thanks
CC
Cowboy,
There are a million. I will only mention a couple. Sandy Spring Hotel on Soi 13 is nice, 1/2 block to beach, close to everything else. Soi 13 at 1300B. I like Charlie Place, new, a few blocks from beach but close to a lot. Corner of Soi Bacow and Soi Dianna. 900B.
These are both 3 stars but very presentable, Both are close to a lot of action but reasonably quiet. PM me if you want Charlie Place phone as it is at work.

The Sandy Spring Hotel is very nice. Also on Soi 13 is the Dynasty Inn which is go for about 1280 to 1480 bahts depending on the season you arrive in. Check out the hotel at the following website address..

Here's a link to the Sandy Springs Hotel also...

And the White House Condotel is also on Soi 13... (which is only one block long between 2nd Rd and Beach Rd.)...

This is taken out of the photo thread and put here - other alternates to LK Metropole
Try pretty much right across the street (a bit farther toward Buakhao) at Areca. They are a bit less and about as nice
Alternately, try some of the "lesser" hotels like one of the Sawasdee chain on Soi 10 north and south of 2nd road, on Honey Inn (soi 11), Diana Inn and corner of Buakhao and Honey Inn for 650 to 850. Not nearly as expensive, not quite so nice either
Myself, I tend to go native and stay in a cheap place for 400 to 500 and spend my money on other things. You won't be without a room in Pattaya - just that it not might be as elegant as you would wish.

I thought the Areca looked nice. One thing, when I walked past it with a gogo girl one night, she commented that she didn't like going in there as the people behind the desk made "bad" comments to her!

I used to stay at the LK Metropole for some time and would also recommend it.
I remember a few comments in here that the place recently has some issues with the water pressure though.
The rooms at the LK Metropole are superior to those of the Areca, but the Areca is still ok and I stayed there last year. They have two pools and sun throughout the day while the LK has no real pool.
Never had any bad experience with the hotel staff or heard any bad comments about my guests. You may avoid to pass by reception by taking the side entrance from the parking lot. This way you can reach the building in the back without being seen or enter the lift of the front building.
Can anybody provide the e-mail address of the LEK Hotel in Pattaya?
I just checked the Estiny website and found they have quite a few hotels now, and one resort. The addresses are mostly in the soi 8 area, one on soi 10 and a resort with an address that I don't recognise. Anyone been to the new hotel on soi 10 and the resort? I will be heading to Pattaya for the weekend and would like to stay at one of their new hotels if I can get a good report here. Thanks!
Has anyone stayed here before? I'm booked in here for mid march. Is it gf? Any general reviews would be welcome.
Thanks

I am very exited. Today for my firs trip I have bought my airline tickets and recieved confirmation from The Livingstone's. I will be in Bangkok on 03rd of February for a week :)
Now I need some help. I also visit Pattaya for 4 nights (11-15 February) and wanted to stay at Secrets but it is fully booked. Can you recommend me a sub 1000BHT girlfriendy hotel near the action? I have found The Livingstone's by this forum and hope to find a Hotel in Pattaya by your help.
Can anyone recommend any hotels in Pattaya with in-room internet connections and below the 1000 Baht mark per night for the room? Thanks.
Franga - roof garden fits that price range (or they DID a while back anyway) and are pretty nice. I don't know about the charge they had for the ADSL modem, though - you can bring your own if you have one - remember the 220 volt operation, though (damn near blew out my system with a "wrong voltage" converter. I was lucky that I read the input voltage range as 110 and set the output to 1/2 of what it "otherwise" needed (multivoltage xfmr) or bring a transformer box)
Eastiny is in that approx range - just check the forum
Might be some others in the soi 7 or 8 area that fit the bill as well
(I'm being polite, RTFF - not meant as as a flame - there are "internet in room" reports out there)
gaolei - eastiny soi 10 is "new" and costs a bit more than the others. It is ALSO A LOT QUIETER. Right next door to Sawasdee about 1/2 down (or up) the soi between beach and 2nd

Gaolie,
The resort is on the other side of Sukhumvit just off Siam Country club Road. It is out of the way and I personally suggest if you like being in the action this wouldn't be for you.
I have shown it to my friends several times. Great place and rooms are really nice and they have small cabanas. They have the biggest pool I ever saw in Pattaya except the water park in Jomtien and each time I went there I have never seen anyone in the pool. You can rent by the day, week or month. The room rates are around 20,000 baht and the Cabanas are 25,000 but one of the workers told me you can chew them down. The have a restuarant that looks over the pool and with the rooms rates you can get breakfast included if you like.
If I was single, which I'm not, and if I ever get kicked out and could afford the place this is where I personally would stay but in a Cabana, it's like a small house. They have lots of Stunners working in the place. If you know your way around Pattaya and don't mind walking to the main road for a taxi or getting around in a motorbike good place to relax and enjoy the candy in private.

can i just recomend a good place to stay in pattaya-rhetorical, because i will.
i'll not post a link because that's not allowed , but the place is called the rockhouse on soi lk metro-do a search.
it only has 3 rooms, but they are huge, and it is a pub with a lot of nice girls, as per my report. being small, and with a permenant cashier, and no duplicate keys for the staff, and with a bolted down room safe, the place is very secure. nobody goes in through the back door to the accomodation without the cashiers knowing.
lk metro btw is a buzzing place. it would be hard to justify going to walking street staying here. in fact it is so good that [CodeWord900] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord900) is 20 metres away, and the hell club another 30, both of which i swore i'd visit, but never did. there's a gogo (champagne) 3 doors down, restaurants coming out of your arse, and beer bars, internet cafes, visa places, laundries, everything within a small stagger. i highly recommend the accommodation and the area.

I will be heading to Pattaya for the weekend and would like to stay at one of their new hotels if I can get a good report here. Thanks! I always stay at estiny residence soi 10. It is just over 1000b, I like the area. Walking distance to beachroad, 2nd road, there is some bars directly across from it. I find the quality if bg's on soi 10 not so great. For me thats ok because I don't like to take girls close to my hotel, I find that walking by a bg (that you already had) everday day or 2-3times a day with a new trophy sometimes creates to much drama I don't need. So I tend to walk over to soi 7or8 or head to walking to do my fishing.
But back to the hotel, the rooms are clean, most have bath tubs, have internet acsess aswell. The pool on the 3rd floor is nice aswell.
Breakfast buffet isn't so shit hot, but its included.
For me the only negative about the hotel is they don't have safes in the room, there safes are at receptition and you can only acces them until 10pm (or somthin). I don't understand why some hotels put there safes at reception, I hate that, its such a pain in the ass.
But for me the 1 negatitive is acceptable as I like the area and the people, id recomend the hotel, in fact I'll be there again on feb 20
P.S. The burger stand on the corner of soi 10 and 2nd road are excellent, the woman there is great and has become a good freind try her burgers, shes a hard worker and puts any money she makes to good use.
Got quoted 1390 bht for Sandy Springs in late April, basic room w/ balcony. They want 1700 for the taxi from airport. (Can't help but think if I just showed up at that time of year I might get the room cheaper.) Anyway, does anyone know how loud this hotel is for sleeping? It's between here and Dynasty Inn but S Spring wants a credit card # to reserve which means if it's too loud and I have to move they may try to keep some $.

The standard-rooms are generaly quiet, except there are constructionworks on Soi 13. At my last visit there in October I had no problems. For the transportation to Pattaya you can take a bus. Its around 100 Baht. A taxi will be 1200 to 1500 Baht.
Sandy Springs is very quiet, excellent rooms, best value I have forund in Pattaya at 1250 b, no breakfast but as you know the Lek is just 1/2 a block away. That was a balcony room on the 3rd floor. I would highly reccommend Sandy Springs in that price range. They only ask for a credit card for the first nite with us. Things are starting to slow down in Pattaya, just left last week so you might even get a better deal than I did.

I found Sandy Spring to be an excellent hotel. The rooms were perfect and quiet. No problems with sleep, the location is good, the pool is very nice, and Guest Friendly
They often charge for internet. That's the only thing I don't like.
I also found the new Eastiny Residence to be a good value. The only problem was the pool. Something was wrong with it and it took 2 days to get fixed. The water turned a little bad, but they did not warn guests. I asked them to put up a sign and they just said, sorry. But people could get sick I said. Sorry! Thailand!

Can you help me to find a hotel in Pattaya located in the rectangualar area of Pattaya Klang road, Beach road, South road and 2:nd road that is 100 % perfect for me? I have been RTFF and looking around a little bit myself in the area, but this far no luck.
These are my preferences: Maximum about 1 500 baht per night now in March, silent surroundings, non-smoking-room, air-condition, room with the floor made of either tiles/marble/plastic material, safe deposit in the room, American breakfast buffet, girlfriendly, both hot and cold water in the room, refrigerator, and a swimming pool at least 25 meter long for my daily exercise.

Tomling,
The All Seasons may fit into your description. It's not directly in your described square, but very very close to it, situated in the corner of Pattaya Klang Rd / Second Rd.
It's part of the Accor Group, not fancy but sufficient, newly renovated, clean rooms, nice enough bath. Only deluxe rooms have an in-room safe, but there are still the safes at reception available 24/7. Breakfast buffet is OK but gets old after a few days, not much variation.
Pool and sun-deck are on the 5th (?) floor. Not big but nice.

Greetings all.
As a Pattaya first-timer, I'm trying to narrow down my hotel options with the following criteria:
1. Around 1, 000 baht/day
2. In-room safe (preferred, but not a must)
3. Shower is western-style (I. E. Not just a shower hose over the toilet and spraying everywhere)
4. Bed is actually one piece and not two small beds pushed together
5. Located near Soi 8 bar area (I wouldn't want to be wandering too much while [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) drunk in a new, strange, yet incredible place! )
I've searched this forum rather thoroughly for such a hotel, but couldn't find a place that met all criteria. Flipper House seemed perfect, but then read they push 2 single beds to make a queen size. That seemed like an uncomfortably bad idea, especially since I intend to use that bed to its fullest!
Many thanks in advance for everyone's help. Also, much gratitude to Mai Yao, Gwailo and especially RetiredForever for guiding this newbie. If you guys are there in May, I'm buying you a beer!
Gren, the Queen Victoria Inn seems to meet most of your requirements. It's not on 7 or 8, but soi 6 is very near and is not a quiet soi in it's own right. I've only eaten and had drinks at this place (English pub-style and 6/10 IMO), but friends have stayed there and give it the thumbs-up.
Stayed here for 7 nights just recently, (13 /3 - 20/3). Its located at the following address; 240/5 Moo 5 Soi Ping Pa, Pattaya City (North), Chonburi 20150.
Not a bad place, abit out of the way from all the action, but still aright. Overnight guests are not welcome, or so it says in their booklet, but I bought home a few ladies and had no troubles. Had to pay the extra charge for a guest and all it was was 100 baht!
This resort though is German owned, so 98% of the guests were naturally German. I was the only Australian. Would I stay there again, probaly not, I'd get a place a bit more central to walking St. etc. Still pretty cheap and nice facilities.
Dan
As nice as this hotel may be, give it a miss. First, it is pretty tucked away, so you will need to catch their shuttle or take a good 10 minute walk from 2nd road.
Secondly, the staff stopped me when I tried to bring a lady in and I got stung with a 500 baht fee.

I have stayed at secrets hotel once for a week in April 2007 in a standard room which are pretty good, plenty of room nice and clean plus right on walking street. The food is good and you can just chill in the bar with no hassle. Bad points are they expect you to pay a deposit which they did not tell me at the time of booking, the noise from the bar below and one night some one tried to break into my room while we were asleep lucky there are 2 locks on the doors or they would have got in. When I complained about it reception were not bothered about it. Since then I have visited the bar many times.
LK metro is a nice area I like staying there plenty of places to stay, drink visit etc just watch the traffice on Soi Dianna you can easily get quashed.

Every room has an in-room safe, coffee-maker, bathtub with shower and lanai (veranda). The smallest rooms are 45 square meters. There is security but is GF friendly. Breakfast is included in the room rate. From 2000-2006 I stayed there at least two times each year, approximately 30 days at a time. 2007-2008 I am living in Bangkok, so every 3 weeks or so I spend a two- or three-day weekend in Pattaya, always staying at this hotel. So I guess your European by ethnicity? LOL the reason I ask is that another person posted that if your not white your not right when it comes to this hotel.. I was just wondering if you can confirm the posters statement concerning discrimination of non whites here..
Thanks..AliasDonkey,
As a black guy from the U. S. A. , I did not encounter any discrimination at Sunshine Residences Soi 8. I found the staff to be very friendly and open for small talk for me to practice speaking Thai. I remember seeing a post regarding this topic for this hotel. I chalk it up to a person with a bad attitude. See other forum thread for more information.

Thanks..No. My ethnicity is luuk kreung from Hawaii, USA. I personally have not witnessed any racism at Sunshine.
Since 2000, I have stayed at the Sunshine Residence on Soi 8 (http://www.sawadee.com/hotel/pattaya/sunshine/)(http://www.agoda.com/asia/thailand/pattaya/sunshine_hotel.html). This is colocated with the Sunshine Hotel. . . .From 2000-2006 I stayed there at least two times each year, approximately 30 days at a time. 2007-2008 I am living in Bangkok, so every 3 weeks or so I spend a two- or three-day weekend in Pattaya, always staying at this hotel. It meets my needs (cost, security, cleanliness). Thanks for the useful information regarding Sunshine Hotel & Residence. I noticed that the reservation page stated "adjoining building undergoing construction, and noise may be expected." Was this a problem when you were there?
Thanks, Bule 2004

Gentlemen,
Has anybody information about the new
LK Renaissance Service Apartment in Soi Diana?
The LK Group has an own website
http://www.lkpattaya.com/
but I am only able to open the sites from LK Metropole, LK Mansion and LK Royal Suite.
As far as I know, they offer now a promotion prize. Instead 2.500 Baht they offer 1.500 Baht.
But I can neither find a website for getting serious information nor a way to contact the LK Renaissance for booking.
Thanks in advance.
Lemon TreeI was still there a week ago, they offer discount prices since 1st April, it depends how long you're staying there, so it's.30 % for 1 night,.40 % for 1 week,.50 % for 1 month,.60 % for more
Here's the mail: renaissanceatlkpattaya.com
Prefer rooms on the back for noise reasons, for 2500 baths it may be a superior room but beware there's no shower in, only a jakuzzi, for 3500 baths you can get a deluxe room very luxious, with shower and jakuzzi
Some photos linked
Have a nice trip

Thanks, Bule 2004I was there last weekend, stayed on the 4th floor and did not experience any noise problems. However, if you are on a lower floor and do experience problems, management will gladly move you to a higher floor.

With my plane ticket in hand and my suitcase packed with enough contraception to wrap up the leaning tower of Pisa, I leave the southwest region of the US for the first time in the direction of Pattaya. Now, I've done my homework (as much as one can do for a first time visit). But I still haven't drawn any conclusions as to which Soi (and which hotel) would be ideal for me focus on. 3 questions I have are:
1. For the interest of LT, can anyone recommend the best area to stay around for quality bar girls and beer bars?
2. Based on the answer for the first question, can anyone recommend a decent hotel in the 900-1500Baht/day range that's girl friendly, conveniently located and won't look like a roach motel on the inside?
3. Finally, I hear that many farang have pretty good luck with freelancers. (Eliminating the bar fine can be good). WIth that said, where (which roads) in Pattaya can guarantee you a good freelancer for the night (LT)? And are they worth it (the risk that is)?
Thanks and look forward to posting a newbie report when I return.

1. Pick almost anywhere in TOWN - problem is that there are good ones and bad ones and the luck of the draw will prevail - remember - "sometimes the dragon wins"
2. try somewhere in the Soi 13 area - between beach and 2nd. Most of the hotels there are in your price rangs - some have internet in the room, too. Eastiny on Soi 10 seems like a good location and in your price range. You really don't NEED a reservation - it's RAPIDLY approaching "low season" - they WANT (need) your patronage
3. Most freelancers wind up on Beach - on the "beach side" - just sitting there on the concrete benches or standing by a tree. The ones who say "hello" are "available". Some were "pushy" (I guess the word should be "insistent" - "I go with you!" before the guys in black (tourist police - the clean up squad) made it "difficult" for the sidewalk workers). it would be "easier" if you spoke some Thai - then the whole world opens up. there are a lot of poo-ying ("women" in Thai) who won't speak to farang (that's "us") because their "angrit" (how they say the word "english") is limited - and by limited I mean "essentially non-existent".
This resource opens up to you with Thai languiage skills.
RTFF, too - lots of info in here

1) it is the look of the draw there are bars all over the place you have north pattaya Soi 2 opposite Big C. Then Bars inbetween there and soi 6 then 7 & 8. I like the Cherry bar on soi 8. Then the ones towards and on walking street.
2) I like to stay on soi Dianna/ Lk Metro there are lots of Guess houses around this area and places to eat plus beer bars BJ bar and the hell club.
I hear the Acrea Lodge is good but not stayed there myself also secrets hotel just off walkinbg street there are just so many. I think it is always best to book one night in a hotel so you don't have to mess around hotel hunting.
3) FL can be found all over the place, on beach rd in night clubs and by the end of April a Pattaya version of the Bier Garden (bangkok) just before you get to walking street looks over the sea.
When are you going ?
Have fun

Thanks for the recommendations so far. I googled a map of pattaya that illustrates the direction of the Soi's and Walking street. http://barspattaya.com/map-pattaya-extra.gif
My concern is this: Does it matter which end of Central Pattaya I make my base camp? Soi 1 begins on the north end and Soi 15 is on the south side toward Jomtien Bay. Based on this map, should i focus in between Soi 6 and Soi 13?
I've also read a few good reviews on Pattaya Bay Resort. The hotel's website is a little mis-leading as it says the location is on Soi 15...but the map shows it much more north. Is it possible to get from this location to say Soi 6 in under 10 minutes by way of taxi or tuk tuk?
And just out of curiosity, if you wanted towalk from Soi 6 to Soi 13 along Beach or Second road, how long would it take?

It does not matter where you stay as you can get to the action with no problems. There are blue pick ups called baht buses you can wave down or will stop in front of you and charge 10 bht per person. Do not use the ones that are stopped by the side of the road as it will cost you a lot more like a taxi.
The hotel is not on soi 15 off walking street but soi 15 off soi buakhao and second road behind the Avenue entertainment shopping center. You can get a baht bus to soi 6 from the avenue will take about 5 minutes. second rd is one way with numbers heading down wards 13-1 and beach rd is the other way 1-13 numbers heading upwards.
I am not sure how long it would take you to walk may be 15-30 minutes but remember how hot and humid it will be.

I have booked in here for my trip in June. Seems like a pretty good deal - 1000 baht per night including breakfast, wireless internet and pool. Close to Soi 13 which is my preferred location and if you stay 6 consecutive nights, the 7th is free.

Depends on how young or old you are and your physical conditioning but most importantly how long you stop to engage in conversation and or negotiations with the Beach Road Strumpets.
Also, are you on a time schedule to make it from point A to B in a certain amount of time while you are on vacation?

Not stayed there myself but have heard good reports from others and yes it is GF.
Their FAQ says - http://pattayabayresort.com/FAQ.aspx
All of our rates quoted are for 1 or 2 persons sharing the same room. Therefore, if a single guest brings back a joiner, there is no additional fee. If you have a third person in the room, there is an additional charge of 500 baht per person, per night.
So, not a good deal if you are into threesomes. Otherwise, I agree it looks reasonable. I'll stay there next month.

Never really been a big concern of mine. I am curious though whether they have this charge during the day as well as at night.
Thanks or the recommendation for the Pattaya Bay Resort. It is very clean and new and efficient. Almost all the guests seem to be single men with plenty of joiners coming and going.
1000 bht currently gets the standard room without breaksfast, but plenty of options nearby such as the buffet at the Apex Hotel for 110 bht.
1600 bht gets you the excellent deluxe room also without breakfast. Recommended.

Never really been a big concern of mine. I am curious though whether they have this charge during the day as well as at night.
I stayed at the Pattaya Bay Resort for six nights at the end of November 2007. I arrived with five ladies in tow, only one of which registered with me. I was worried about the extra "joiners' fees," but the hotel staff didn't bat an eye. I've attached a picture of the five ladies watching the TV in my room at the PBR. Every night I had at least two ladies spending the night and was never asked for a joiner fee. This may be in part because I had a suite and not a standard or deluxe room, but I believe the "joiner fee" clause is a protective one to guard against the guests who pack four or five people into a standard room for the whole stay.

You might want to check out the newly opened Pattaya Beer Garden, which is trying to become the local equivalent of the Beer Garden on Soi 7 in Bangkok. You can read about it here: Pattaya Beer Garden (http://www.pattayabeergarden.com/)

Guys the Pattayabayresort looks kind of off the beaten track. The walk to the baht bus route look farther then the walk from the LK metro.
Stayed at Sabai Wing just one night this week at the recommendation of a girl I was with from BKK. Don't remember the charge but think 1200 or 1300.
Anyway, clean enough place with wireless in the room, (necessary for me), bed a little hard but ok, room a small bit dated, but perfectly reasonable condition and seemed a little bigger than standard. Large balcony overlooking pool. TGF rang up two of her friends and no problem getting in, just copy of ID. So a good option. There are many other reports to read on Sabai Lodge, etc. And all are located together, so near the same amenities.

The Pattaya Bay Resort isn't in the middle of things, but it's not off the beaten track. The hotel's free tuktuk will take you to either Soi Bukhow or Second Road and will pick you up there as well if you call. Or you can cut through the Avenue Mall to Second Road, which isn't a huge walk at all.
I'm hardly a fitness freak, but I made the walk several times from WS to the PBR just to get in my 10,000 steps a day and it wasn't that time-consuming or strenuous. If you have mobility problems of any sort it probably isn't the best choice, but otherwise it's OK in terms of location.

I've stayed many times in the Mercure (which is very nice, 100% GF but a bit overpriced at B2000), which is very near Pattay Bay Resort. It is only a 5 minute walk to Second Road and from that corner maybe just over 5 mins to get to the end of walking street. Not far at all. In fact it's a lot closer to the action than the hotels in Soi 8 for example. The hotel has a tuk tuk which runs constantly back and forth from the hotel to walking street anyway (as does the Mercure). From there you can jump on a baht bus to the lower sois if you dont fancy the 5 minute walk to walking street.
Cheers,

It will only take 5 mins to get to soi 6 by tuk tuk from this hotel or from Second Road and maybe 20 - 25 mins walking along beach road. BUT it will be a bloody hot, sweaty walk! I suggest along the way you stop off at Tahitian Queen on Beach Road for a refreshing, cold, draught beverage and enjoy the lovely girls dancing there in the middle of the hot afternoon heat. Great place to get a lovely ST gogo girl (crap at night though).

As nice as this hotel may be, give it a miss. First, it is pretty tucked away, so you will need to catch their shuttle or take a good 10 minute walk from 2nd road.
Secondly, the staff stopped me when I tried to bring a lady in and I got stung with a 500 baht fee.Stayed in Mercure 4 different trips now and so have a few friends and never had any problems bringing a girl back in the afternoon or evening though in the evening she did have to register with security at the entrance. Couple of girls had to in the aftrenoon too. I always make sure I book a double room so maybe that was why it was ok?

hello gents
once again the annual trip beckons. and once gain the excitement factor is at an all time high.
the first three visits i stayed at the apex on 2nd road, which was very good value but after the third time, i realised they hadn't so much as given it a lick of paint over the last 5-6 years and the place was looking and feeling decidedly shabby. so last time i stayed at residence garden which was very good indeed, and had very large suites for 10,000 baht for the week. i got it down to 18,000baht for the fortnight. it was a good location, just 5 mins from sth pattaya and i could also easily hop onthe baht bus to jomtien. it was a bit noisy though coz it's on a mian road. but all in all a good experience. however, during my numerous rounds of golf with expats, they all semmed to point to areca lodge on soi diana, which i know frrom my trips to eden massage, [CodeWord900] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord900) and general soi bukhaow tomfoolery. have the prices of this place increased more than others over the last year or so? i always thought it was around the 800 baht mark, but now it says 1350 baht?? can anyone shed some light, and/or recommend any other hot tips for good hotels around this price?

John the Scott.,
Thanks for the info but for a frame of reference can anyone tell me if the distance to second street is the same or longer from the LK Metropol vs the Mercure?... The Lk was quite a walk to get to second road not to mention no side walk as you get closer to Second road LOL…
The Mercure amenities look great vs. Pattaya bay resort. I guess I would be will to spend a little more for a more upscale furnishings LOL….
Any advice from the experts?
I was also looking at the whole slew of sun series of hotel LOL..
Sunshine Residences/Hotel Pattaya Soi 8
Sunshine Vista Hotel Soi 3
Sunbeam Hotel Soi 7
And even this apartment:
Imperial Residence Beach Road
Looking for a place that’s decent, at least 3 starts, convenient location and not too noisy. Getting a little older LOL need my sleep for my next day of mongering LOL..
What does the pattaya expert think of my selections?
Oh may try the Mercure and or the LK new hotel.. but would rather we close to or in the middle of things ie in between beach road and second road or close to walking street.

It would be better to reserve a room for one night, then spend a couple of hours on your day of arrival walking into a few hotels and doing a little negotiating. You can get free maps/Pattaya guides everywhere in town.
I just returned from 5 fabulous days in Pattaya. Stayed at the Whitehouse in Soi 13. Clean fairly new building. This was my third stay here. 1250 Baths including breakfast. Only problem is the building is sandwiched between The Dynasty on one side and some apartments on the other so you need to keep curtains closed if you want some privacy.
I like the Soi 13 location because is quite and yet an easy walk to Walking Street to the south and Soi 8 to the north.
Dear My All Expert Friends.
I must say you guys really know hell alot about Thailand than I do. I am in my mid twenties love partying and fucking asian chicks I went to Thailand in 2005 and blew out my pockets (like almost 25, 000$) more than I would have in Amsterdam or Vegas. There was too much ripping and the girls were too sticky and I was a stupid throwing money on them where as I never got the services for the money. Well as the days passed over as I went there for about nearly 38 days. I started learning and learnt how to survive there and protect my pocket. Would you imagine I didn't even go to those soapies to have a massage and wasted all my money in the Go Gos. Well now I have to ask my expert friends here on this forum about what do and what not to do. Or I should say Do's and don't's. Let me tell you the scenario. I ll be hitting Pattaya by end of July. Last time I stayed in Bangkok for a week and then moved to Pattaya (which seemed to be the cheapest place for having fun). But this time I am gonna hit staight to Pattaya from airport. I just studied this forum in detail and found out some girlfriendly hotels in Thailand. I chose the Roof Garden Inn finally keeping the price, value for money, and girfriendliness in mind. I don't want to spend more than 1000baht/day and this hotel is something near 800(with broadband and safe in the room) this time where as I used to spend more than 5000 las time. So first I would like an advice on this guest house cum hotel "roof garden inn" it seems a little away from bar scene. Is it ok and easy to reach from there to the nightlife and are baht busses, motorcycle taxis cheap and easy to find from there? I would like if its peacefull and noise free but easy to get to the walking street and the sois. Secondly I would be interested in recomendations from you guys on the Sios and Walkingstreet. What is the best option for a longtime girl action (My longtime is no more than 24-48hrs). Freelancers in the beer gardens? Girls from the walking street or Girls from Sios and if from sio's which is the best soi. I would like to consider the value for money and the services the girls provide and learn from your experiences (if Sios matter in this aspect) And as I love drinking. Let me know the best bars which cheap rates for good liqour/beer.
Thanks,
Sam

Your expectation for THB200/day after paying your room cost is too high. But it may be enough to eat small portions from a vendor and take in the sunset each day. Based on your past experience, you should be able to easily develop a budget. For me, I do spend much more than THB5, 000 per day but less than 20 per cent of that on entertainment.
