I just checked out the Flipper Lodge on Soi 8 in Pattaya on
http://www.thaihoteldiscounts.com
and a standard room @ 898 Bht including an Am. B/F at face value looks a very good price.
I stayed there about 8 yrs. ago and I just wondering if anyone has booked in there recently and what was it like?
I looked at their website but I still couldn't work out whether each room included a free internet Wi-fi connection or not, which is important consideration for me these days as I need to use my lap top everyday for business. Sorry to trouble but does anyone have any update on that situation?
It was GF before, so I am assuming it hasn't changed its status on that score...I hope!!!
Thanks in advance.Osakagin,
That is a good rate and I been staying there for over 10 yr ,I think the newer flipper house down the st is better not as loud as flipper lodge ,always Gf not sure about free internet access ,try to get a room on the new remodel section and higher floor with less noise .

There are many fine hotels in Pattaya that do not charge for internet access and comparable to the Marriott. The much discussed Nova Platinum is a perfect example, Mantra Pura, another Hotel away from the action is another.I know there are many other hotels in Pattaya but actually, I want to be right in (or near) the action especially to WS as that is were I usually go. Marriott is close enough but because of the layout seems like it is hidden from the action.
I am really looking for an in hotel room solution. I would consider other hotels but I also want to make sure the connection is good enough to hold web conferencing and streaming from my slingbox. I love my sports from the US especially baseball.

Marriort, being hidden away from the action! I don't think so! located less that 5 minutes from Walking st.. and that's walking. In front is Beach Rd. in the back is 2nd Rd...
LBM
Stayed at the following Pattaya Hotels within the past 30 days. Booked most rooms at agoda.com for best rates unless noted. Prices were from $29.00 to $65.00 USD per night.
Nova Platinum Hotel- Stayed in building 2. Girl friendly, nice pool, free WIFI, clean, 32 inch flatscreen TVs and in room safes
LK Renaissance- Studio room. Girl friendly, decent size rooms, Flat Screens, in room safes, wired internet but free and does include breakfast. Only downside is they only have a tub with a shower wand, not a real shower. Small pool but does the trick. Located in the Soi Dianna/Soi LK Metro area.
Secrets Hotel. Book at the Secrets Bar web site. Cheap and as convenient as it gets to Walking street. Under 1000 baht per night with free WiFi and in room safes. Very noisy until 3-4am as you are on top of a bar.
Discovery Beach Hotel. Soi 6/1 at Beach road. Says they have a joiner fee but had no problem. You can enter from the ground floor with your lady and bypass the main entrance. Beautiful view of Pattaya Bay, good size rooms, free WiFi, in room safes, breakfast included with a excellent pool.

LBMI know where it is located as I stayed at the hotel many times. The point I was trying to make is if you are sitting by the pool for example, it does not seem like it's close to the action as they do a great job of hiding the fact that it is in the middle of all the action.

Hi all,
Planning my next trip to Pattaya and came across the Fraser Resort. The location and modern amenities attracted me to this hotel but I know pictures can make a room look better than it is.
I would be interested in the basic info such as:
1. Joiner Fees?
2. Rates (discounted not the published ones on their website) for one bedroom
3. internet connection fees?
4. Overall satisfaction
Any info would be much appreciated.

They call it a Resort but it looks more like a Condo than anything else. It is located just off Beach Rd. right after the Royal Garden. The official location is in a courtyard call Pattaya City Walks, that starts from Beach Rd. and runs through to 2nd Rd. just like the Marriort. Within the courtyard there are many gifts stalls and a number of International eating places. The information that I have is that it is only 2 months old and not all the rooms are completed. There is no major construction going on that I could see or hear except for your normal shop upgrades.
The duluxe rooms are 2,200 baht, they call this price and the others right now "pre-opening offer 40-45% " the room size is 33sqm, and some of the others rooms, deluxe courtyard, Studio Premier, 1 bedroom premium which is 60 sqm/ 645 sqf which is 3,500 baht. Promotion for Deluxe Rooms for 1 week is 13,500 baht and 1 month is 44,100 baht.
As for joiner fee the answer is No! but when you register you must indicated that the room is for two, and when you bring your lady back she must leave her I.D. at front desk. The desk area is very private and there is no walk of shame!
There is a indoor swimming pool on the second floor and a fitness area. They advertise Complimentary daily breakfast and have a purple Tuk Tuk that take you around to nearby areas. There is a Electronic Safe deposit Box in each room and they advertise most rooms have tubs. Internet/Wireless in room is 350 baht per day. But if you just want to check email, they have a computer in the lobby that is free.
Overall as noted the place is brand new and located in a very convienent location.
Within the courtyard, right on the otherside is Baywalk Residence another new place.
www.baywalkresidencepattaya.com Email: info@baywalkresidencepattay.com
Rooms run from Superior to Family suites. Superior starts at 1,500 baht and the suites are 6,300 baht. Monthly is 30,000 for Superior. There is a swimming pool on the roof, safe in room, room has free Internet, laptop wireless. hairdryers, outside terrace for everyroom.
You need anything else let me know... I can also provide freelancer from beach rd. Heh Heh!
Good luck, LBM
Many online hotel booking agencies show a room rate which looks competitive, until you realise that tax and service charges have to be added. What's the point of not showing the total price?
At the end of the day, it may be slightly cheaper than other agents, but I, like I imagine many others never persue it further.
BEWARE! Some Pattaya hotels (example Welcome Plaza ) charge a joiner fee when the room is booked through an agent, but not when you book direct with them. A direct booking is usually more expensive, but can work out cheaper when the joiner fees are included
They call it a Resort but it looks more
Very useful info LBM. I will stay 2 Months in Thailand and maybe I just make 1 month in Pattaya. So, the monthly rates sounds tempting to me.
But a better Link to Fraser Resort Pattaya is This:

DG69,
I think as someone said, the link can be deceiving since it is computer generated. What you see on the link isn't exactly what you see when you get there. The link you provided shows the front which is the courtyard now which has lots of independent stalls selling their art and stuff. Nevertheless the place is new and very nice when I made a visit there to check it out for myself.

Thanks for the info! This is good stuff.
As for Fraser, I am going to see if I can spend a couple of nights in the one bedroom as I like the extra space but will also try the deluxe. What happens if I bring 2 friends back home, do I need to indicate the 3 persons will be staying with me.
As for Baywalk Residences (thanks for the link), I had a problem with their website for checking availability so sent them an e-mail instead. But the Royal Suite is exactly what I am looking for (albeit a bit pricey) but something I could enjoy for a couple of nights (to splurge) and then fall back to a regular room. I assume no joiner fees here too but will ask them directly.
Will try these options on my next trip and report back.

Here is some addition information for Baywalk
Reservation: res@baywalkresidencepattaya.com
Sales: sales@baywalresidencepattaya.com
Telephone: +66(0)38 711 300
Fax: +66(0) 38 710 100
Although I didn't ask at Baywalk but I'm pretty sure no joiner fee
Fraser: when I ask the girl at the front desk, she smile to the question of joiner fee, clearly indicated to me that although you are alone you must register the unkown second guest and that second guest when you bring her in to Resort must leave her I.D. at the front desk. Not sure of Third and that is the same as Baywalk.
Although Baywalk isn't as nice in the front as Fraser, I can see why Baywalk has a better view since it isn't as far set back as Fraser. The swimming pool being on the roof gives you a better view to Walking St... and the waterfront.
There is also a outdoor dinner area with a view.

LBMLBM, you should start your own "Pattaya Travel and Monger Services" and try to get kickbacks from all the places (and freelancers) you recommend... :)
Many online hotel booking agencies show a room rate which looks competitive, until you realise that tax and service charges have to be added.
What's the point of not showing the total price?
They are showing the total price of the room. Taxes and govt service charges are not revenue for the hotel, they are fees generated for and by the local government thus not included in the hotel rates. It is legal and ethical practice for merchants universally not to initially disclose taxes and surcharges in the price of goods/services. Informed consumers know that they are subjected to be taxed and should inquire as to the rates before hand if they want to know it.
When prostitution becomes legalized and hookers are thus obligated to collect government taxes, it will be noteworthy to see if they include the dreaded government tax rate in their service price.
I'm heading to Pattaya in August and I think I'll be staying at the Nova Platinum Hotel. I've read good reviews here and the free internet is a plus. Right now if you book over the internet the fees are 1299 baht per night.
http://www.amari.com/AmariBookingEngine/FrontEnd/frmBookingSearch.aspx
Can anybody recommend a place just as good and affordable with internet? I'm there for a month and don't want to be stuck in the same place.
I think I asked my question a bit too fast because I'm finding my own answers using the search function.

Same as last trip I stayed at the Dynasty Inn on Soi 13. Think a normal room was 1,600 baht per night.
It is pretty much only mongerers that stay at this hotel, and it is very girl friendly. I had no problem with having two girls in the room at the same time for example.
Good location, not in the middle of everything, but all the action is close by. Get a room that faces towards the garden, since it can be a bit loud outside at night.
Cool thing that this hotel has is a chair that is perfect to sit back and enjoy a beer and a BJ in, I called it "the throne"... :)
Some girlies at work in front of the throne in this picture, and some more if you scroll down from this one ito my other posts in the photo gallery.

LBMThanks for the suggestion! I've spent the last week RTFF and researching other stuff. I booked the Nova Platinum for one week only because I won't be in Pattaya for a month. Afterward I'll extend or I might change to the Pattaya Bay Resort for a week, then spend a week I in Phuket with a Japanese girl, then I'll my unknown story will continue from there.
Maybe the prices are discounted now because it's off season. I booked through http://www.amari.com/ which had the lowest prices compared to other sites like www.agoda.com
lbm,
thanks to your reports, i just finished a four day stay at the baywalk residence, got a great price at latestays 1, 400thb per night + a small booking fee. great location! large rooms. no tub just shower. pillows have a musty mildewy smell.
front desk staff not friendly. have to register guest. make sure your guest has id.
at this price it's a good deal. will not be back though.
btw, beach road ladies are present, but mostly fugly. only a couple that are doable and i'm not that picky! i'm really disappointed. not sure if this is because of the recent crackdown.
have already book the lk renaissance for my next stay in late august for 1, 750thb. this rate is through the end of october. then high season kicks in at 2, 400thb walked by it on way to [CodeWord900] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord900) and asked to see a standard room. it's so much nicer (just a quick visual comparison).

I'm somewhat surprise that the staff wasn't friendly, the 1st time I went to get the information the girl was extremely friendly and informative. Today I was there and the guy that was behind the desk was also very informative and friendly. But you're the one staying there and the one smelling the sheets so that's a opinion for others seeing this should take into consideration.
Taking the I.D. of the girls are always a good idea especially for the protection of the customer but if they were ruded that is another thing.

Front desk was not rude. Just didn't seem to care if I returned or not, at least that's my perception.

Anyone had any experience in Sawasdee Sea View hotel?
It seems to be right across the beach road and close to all. The price seems to be reasonable at 1100 baht.
desi - roughly 1/2 way between beach road and 2nd road on soi 10. Place is OK - typical sawasdee. Don't remember if has a lift or not tho if that matters to you. They check girls ID and log it after 7pm or do.
right now is better prices because of the monsoon. (4AM here and pouring like a cow pissing on a flat rock - bring shoes suitable for getting soaked. I'm over in Jomtien but the weather doesn't change in 5 km)
1100 sounds like hi season price from what I remember - the one on soi honey inn is 400B. Might look tomorrow and see if "promotion" price avail.

It is legal and ethical practice for merchants universally not to initially disclose taxes and surcharges in the price of goods/services.That's a bit disingenuous of them. Pretty much everything you buy has taxes included, but in most countries it is illegal not to display the price you pay for goods (with a few exceptions). Given that VAT in the UK is around 17.5% it could have a big effect on your final bill. I think there is currently a crackdown on airlines offering £1 flights that somehow become £100 when taxes, surcharges, etc are finally added in. And I am always pissed off when I buy something in the States when local and/or national sales tax is added on to the price.

Ny Desiman,
Sawasdee Sea View, don't quote me! But the original Building Swawsdee Sea View I think 3 at most 4 floors, the sign outside on the sandwich board says 699 baht but there is no such thing! The cheapest room available is 700 baht pretty much your basic with no tub. Shower with toilet in the bathroom area. The original building has seen a lot of wear and tear and needless to say the price in that area most likely will reflect that.
Again don't quote me! But the better building and more expensive room like the Superior Rooms is at 1000 baht. The receptionist quoted other rooms more expensive in the next door building which in my opinion use to be Sunview Resort this building is taller and supposely has a lift. The rooms for 1000 baht.. has a tub over shower and room is pretty large but decor of pink and purple isn't my thing. The receptionist wasn't particularly friendly in my opinion gave me the head toe like her shit didn't smell. I was thinking I wouldn't fuck her with a dogs dick. Oh, in the old building, there is no Seaview!
Aside the reception I personally wouldn't stay at this place for the price. If I might suggest within this area,, just a few doors up you might want to try Eastiny Residence hotel. I think this place is within your price range you quoted. Their email is er@eastinypattaya.com / Their website www.eastinypattaya.com didn't work!
There is another Eastiny Hotel on Soi 8, called Eastiny Plaza Hotel, for 1200 baht per day but you get a Buffet Breakfast included in the front plaza. I have seen their rooms and it is slightly smaller but clean and nice decor with a worktable, WiFI, and small balconey. Located right in the action!
Email: plaza@easinypattaya.com
All locations didn't have any Virgins! All said you soil the sheets you buy it!
Good luck, LBM
I usually stay at the 500 baht level as unfortunately that seems to be the price of the places which used to charge 350 baht. But I'm wondering if any frugal visitors have found that the most basic places with air/hot water/cable tv will negotiate down from the typical 500, due to the current dearth of custom?

Thanks LBM (again) for info on Sawasdee. After your report, I don't think it's my type.
The last time I was in Pattaya, I stayed in one of the Eastiny hotels, I think it was on Soi 8, a seven eleven right beside it and bars all along the street. I paid 1200 baht, but the room was small.
Then I moved to Wellcome Plaza. I paid 950 baht/ night on the 7th floor for single room facing the bay. It was quite and I had no problem bringing in my lady (only one I used the whole time as I mentioned in another report). It was allright, except that it was hard on my feet walking up-to the beach road whenever I wanted for people watching, shopping etc. My lady slept most of the day in the room :)
So, I was hoping to find something closer to the beach road around where the Marriot is. Something under 1200 baht may be. No pool, no jacuzzi, no breakfast is allright.

Ny Desiman,
I think the place you stayed at on Soi 8, with the smaller room for 1200 baht was Eastiny Plaza. Well gave it a shot!
Give this place a try, there is another place new! how new not sure but they are having a promotion now for 999 baht, in October the regular rates go to 1550 baht. It is located on Soi 11, up from Beach Rd. short walk about the same as Eastiny on Soi 8.
The room is larger than the Eastiny Plaza, you might want to contact them to see if you can get the promo price depending when you are coming. I don't think the website is working but here is the information.

Also, your question from the General Thread,, girls on Beach Rd.. if they are just sitting there or walking around most likely they are Freelancers! If they are working for someone selling items to locals or tourist they have had lots of contacts with Farangs and either way there should be no problem striking up a conversation.

I'm not really go at distances but the location of Baansila is just off Beach Rd. it is up from Beach maybe around 100 yards.
If you really want to be near the Marriort, and your'e willing to pay a little bit more. I would back up on this thread on one of my reports and stay at Baywalk Resident for 1500 baht. Very close to Beach Rd. and is located in a courtyard with lots of things going on including outdoor eating at the new Thai Puppet Show. Also look at the review of one poster!

There was a place near Soi 11, about 20m into the soi from 2nd road. It's across from Sawasdee something, next to Lizards something bar. For 350 baht an acceptable room, TV, nominally hot water. No A/C though and wasn't needed last January (1st floor and cool). They even had free wireless from a bar next door. That said, that bar next door had 15-20 rooms with A/C some of which were Ok for 450. Both are 5-10 min walk from beach road (be warned, the soi does flood).

Casparza,
Please reference back on this thread to 6-10-09 in regards to Baywalk Residences and Fraser Resort for their contact information.
As for noise, that is very subjective and being that it is hard to give you a exact answer since one noise level might be o.k. for me but not you. Within the courtyard ( opposite side ) there are many shops and merchant ventor stalls selling T-shirts and things. This is the side that Fraser Resort is located and recently they open a outdoor dining with a Thai Puppet Show right outside Fraser Resort. If you are staying at Fraser Resort and your room faces the courtyard it might pose a problem in regards to noise. But for some like myself I like looking out and see what is going on.
As for Baywalk, personally I don't think you have much to worry about the noise. If you are really picky, ask them to move you to a different location but otherwise I think you would be happy with the area. Can't go hungry and a good location for people watching since they have a few outdoor Cafe in the front facing Beach Road and Royal Garden Mall is next door. Last all the Suites are facing Beach Rd. and oh! The place is Girl Friendly!
Good luck, LBM
Poll - which place would you vote for as the best, GF hotel in Pattaya (if price were no object, but GF and minimal walk-of-shame were)?
The Marriott was excellent, and so I'm going to vote there. But interested in what others think.
Cheers,
-B-

Dear All:
Sorry for asking before I post, but I will be arriving in Pattaya Mid August for a small trip and was wondering if anyone can recommend a hotel for me?
Most have:
1. Girl friendly, no trouble with any guest I bring back
2. Cheap but cozy, limited budget so I am hoping for less then 1000 Baht a night (don't want the place to be crawling with bugs or smell raunchy)
3. Safety, is it safe to leave valuable inside? Cash, passports, electronics, so on. (Don't want to bring everything with me at all times)
And if possible:
4. Can chill out with an ocean view (or should I just hit a bar near the beach for that? )
5. Near action/convenience? (Have not been Pattaya before, not sure where is a good place to be living)
And importantly, would it be better to book in advance or would it be okay to walk in and get a room?
Would there be a price difference?
Please all help would be appreciated
While I am waiting I will continue to RTFF!
PS:
1. To get to Pattaya what is the best way? Fly to Bangkok and take taxi? Or find a shuttle bus?
2. I'm planning to head to Chiang-Mai afterward, buses up are easy to find? Or would I have to go back to Bangkok for that?

Ok time tio give a little back to the forum.
I recently stayed the Queen Victoria in Soi 6 which has really decent rooms with free wi-fi for 600B. No seaview though but you may have to pay a lot more for that. Is close to the action in Soi 6. It may be better to book in advance as they seemed quite busy at times.
They are totally girl friendly and best of all after the bar downstairs closes at about 8 you can use the more discreet fire staircase entrance and wake up the sleepy security guard instead of having to endure the walk of shame in front of the entire lobby which is a big plus.
However get a room on the soi 6/1 side since they set up dueling karaoke machines almost directly below my window and the girls love to scream and sing into the night.
Refer to the airport transport sheet for options and they are still relevant.
Don't take a bus to Chiang Mai, get the train (check seat61.com) for about 700bht for a second class sleeper bed. Its too long a journey and sleeping in buses always fucks up my next day.
Hope this helps.

HappyTimes,
Scroll down this thread and most of your questions will be answer or at least you can get a head start.
Then go to the General Thread, and there should be some information a few pages back as to your question regarding the taxi.

The reception staff have seen it all before and they are neither bothered nor interested. Just not sure where the shame is, unless the girl is a hunchback with buck teeth and a broken nose?
Seriously, I'm not the most up-front of people, but I just smile and have a joke with the staff while the girl is presenting her ID. Everyone relaxes and there is no embarrassment.

Although the Pattaya branch of Bangkok's Dynasty Grande Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 6 is generally a fine hotel (if you know to ride a motorcycle), the current construction noise from three (!) condo sites surrounding the hotel makes it currently a no-no choice, at least for the hearing-enabled.
The jackhammering, sawing, grinding typically starts at 9 a.m. and sometimes continues well into the 10 p.m. or later hours. Affected are especially the (otherwise very nice and recommendable) Thai bungalows. Sorry. IMHO, it should be over in a five months.
The daily rate is currently Bt. 1,200, VAT incl., for this kind of money you have plenty of choices at the moment.

Each to their own, for some its an issue and for others its not. All that's important is that the option exists.

Rats. Really? I was hoping to stay at the Dynasty Grande in BKK and utilize the free van to the Dynasty in Pattayabend of October.
Any other suggestions for how to get from the D Grande in BKK and where to stay strategically located and similar mid type hotel close to the action? Will the construction be done by then?

As you know there is no real free lunch. If you use the DG "Free Shuttle" you will be charged Bt. 2,900 for the first two nights at the resort in Pattaya which otherwise would be Bt. 1,200/day. Go figure.
In terms of the construction: It's hard to say whether they are done in October, looking at their current progress they might not.
Getting from DG to Pattaya is simple: Hire a limo driver and go. Cost: Bt. approx. 1,000, or if you are a masochist, go by minibus: Bt. 800. Or, if you have wisely limited your baggage take the Skytrain from Nana to Ekamai (Bt. 40), hop on a white-blue AC coach with seat reservation and travel comfortably: Bt. 113. Hard to beat. You will arrive on Pattaya Nua Rd. take a taxi from there to your destination.
LBM, I think you are right, it was Eastiny Plaza. I will check baansila pattaya.
I heard great reviews about Nova Platinum. Although it is slightly above my price range, isn't it a bit far from the beach road anyway? When I walk from Nova Platinum to Walking Street I can be there within 6-8 minutes depending when I turn. If I walk to the Walking Street sign aka Beach Road, it takes me 12 minutes.
I just tried to reserve a room at the Pattay Bay Resort. They said they're full. 1 room available on the 11th for 4 nights, 1 room availabe on the 13th for 1 week.

That's what I did as well. The front desk at Dynasty Inn Grande phoned their Pattaya hotel to confirm I had the reservation, then handed me the voucher no probs. I did have to pay for the first two nights before getting the voucher but they didn't try to change the rate or anything.

Has anyone heard of a hotel called the Balitaya? It looks to be right next to the Pattaya Bay Resort. A friend told me about it, but did not have any details. I've never heard of it and did not see it when I was there in Feb. I've searched this thread but have not pulled up anything. I am assuming it is new. If anyone has any info, it would be greatly appreciated.

Got a price from them yesterday, same as if was last year - 1200 baht a day, but 800 if you stay for more than 7 days.
Includes breakfast.
Anybody know whether the noise levels are still so high from the building going on around?
Maybe this is why the price is so low as compared to their site prices of 2000 baht.
I am going to visit Pattaya in November. Having seen very good feedbacks about Nova Platinum, I'd like to give it a try.
My only worry is that it can be noisy. I have no idea about that sorroundings. I've been in Pattaya Bay Resot last year and it was OK. This time I would like to change a bit.

Will report on it after I leave.

Sorry, I am bit curious: in which hotel are you staying? Maybe you have better ideas than me.
I am looking for something around 2000 Baht price with good size rooms in Central / Southern Pattaya, and needless to say, girlfriendly!

I'm staying at the Nova Platinum now for 3 weeks. It's my 3rd time here in less than a year. And although I love it, they just started construction on their 3rd building. The building is going behind the swimming pool, and they've erected a tower crane right next to the pool. It's a little scary to have tons of building materials fly over your head while you're sunbathing. And obviously, there's the associated noise and dirt. I paid extra for the pool view room, as the street side rooms are quite noisy, and I've got a great view of the construction site.
I think I'll be staying at another hotel until the new wing is complete.

I just dropped by there 10 minutes ago. Noise levels are VERY high at the moment due to work next door on a new Nova apartment complex (between Balitaya & the Mercure). They seem to be drilling pylons in for foundations and it was loud everywhere.
For LBM the location is just off the same soi as the Mercure and PBR but on the Pattaya Tai side. It's a 2 minute walk down a dirt / sand road to Soi Buakhao. Contratry to previous reports (I think) there is definitely a swimming pool there but it is small-ish with not a lot of sun.
Managed to find the back way into my current hotel, the Dusit D2 which is only a minute or so away. Paying the attractive rate of 2000 baht nett per night for a weekly rate. In my opinion this is unbeatable value if you can afford it and they give the same deal.

I don't know. You can probably e-mail them and ask, if it's not offered you can probably talk them into it by saying that you will change your reservation otherwise. The times I have e-mailed their front desk they have usually responded in a few hours time and in comprehensible English.
Getting from Patts to BKK seems pretty easy though, there are loads of taxi stands around Patts where they advertise taxi services to BKK. Think it is 1,000 Baht from memory.
I will stick with the Sabai Lodge for now. Been going there for years - quiet, totally hassle free and conveniently close to Big C.Is Sabai Lodge GF (or is this a dumb question)? And is it reasonably close to the action? I'm visiting Pattaya mid September and need suitable accomodation.
i stayed at the nova platinum for a week. they allow a late checkout of 4pm. hotel is nice, staff is ok, but the maid (although nice) is slow and noisy so every morning i woke up at 8-8:30am because she's making noise from the glass bottles of water or opening and shutting doors. also she's working throughout the day because people are checking out at random times.
2 days my room wasn't cleaned so i had to request it to be cleaned. 1 time they said ok but never cleaned the room.
internet sucks. there's a good download speed but the upload speed wasn't good enough for voip calls. sometimes sending pictures through e-mail to friends took forever. (internet at the beer garden is faster.)
for 1300 a night i think you can find a better place.

I have taken as many as 3 ladies with me at a time and never a word or sideways glance from the staff! They will record the ladies' ID details, but only if you request it. Always best if you have any doubts.
Is it reasonably close to the action?. Not really, but I personally don't like to be in the thick of it. The baht bus system is excellent in Pattaya and so you are never more than a 10 baht ride away.

stayed there twice this year, never any problems with room, cleaning or any other issues. agreed internet can be a bit dodgy, but most of the time it worked ok for me.
biggest problem with the hotel is indian tour groups - now they do make too much noise and fu*k the place up - breakfast is a nightmare if you go just before 10 am when they are leaving on the damn coach trips. grabbing food with their hands and trying to take it out the door with them just cos they got up late after pissing around in the hotel hallways all night.
however if you time things right it is possibly the best hotel for the money.

I am going to visit Pattaya in November. Having seen very good feedbacks about Nova Platinum, I'd like to give it a try.Stayed there in Apr/May 09, the area around the hotel is very quite. There are no bars within 10-15 mins from it. The problem is with the guests. Alot of Arab men there so it gets rowdy. Price is good but don't think I shall stay there again. Also very safe area. Walked drunk from WS through Arab soi with no problem at all.

I personally like the Soi 2 area: there are some good bars and the Sabai Dee soapy nearby, which I have visited a couple of times!
Because it is quiet, then is the perfect choice for me. Yes, it is bit far from Walking street but I've always enjoyed the baht bus trip with the lady of the night.

Well, to be fair, as it turns out, their server has been down undergoing maintainence. On the third go I got an error message asking them to email directly (as oppossed to via the site). They responded within two hours.
They have rooms and the Areca Lodge is booked.

On Soi Diana behind Kiss Food Restaurant/Bar on Second Street. Close to the action but not noisy. Some clubs and beer gardens within 30 seconds walk. Five minutes walk to Beach Road (down Soi 11). No extra fee for one girl to the room; 300BT extra for each extra girl. Two swimming pools. Free wifi. Anybody have info on a non-girl-friendly hotel (preferably but not a must). But must be about 1250 baht and OUT of the action. Me and a couple of wingmen have some female friends coming with us next month. Of course we will be staying on Beach Lode Soi 8, but I was thinking about throwing the broads in Jomtien or somewhere where their noses won't be in our mongering business.

pattaya park resort is massive and for 2500/night i booked a magnificent two bedroom suite on 25th floor overlooking the bay, lots of kids amusement rides, slides and very large pools (sorry, not really mongering talk, is it?) but it is much closer to the jomtien bars, and only a few minutes to all the pattaya action.
but! just got a stressed call from wildcat saying they did a room-switch on us since we inspected the room an hour ago, so i had a big argument with the hotel guy on the phone. i told him he will give us the suite he showed me an hour ago, or i will complain to the manager. he told me he *is* the manager (fuckity fuck), and after some angry words from me he said i can have my money back if i don't want the suite. so i told him i'm heading back there now and will contact the company head management, and not to make me angry. i'm a laid-back guy, but not when taken for a sucker. you don't wanna see piper angry! grrrr.

I haven't stay there myself, a friend has and enjoys it for the price and of course the location. Right off Soi Baukhao and across from LK Metro. Action everyone, can't get bored nor can you go hungry! Girl friendly, has a pool but I didn't see no balcony and I understand only WiFi and lobby safe deposit box. Price 760 baht.. yes A/C Your standard basic room nothing fancy but clean. Outside the hotel is a nice Soi that runs to 3rd Rd.. has little beerbars, foot massage and Thai massage. Area is self contain. meaning don't have to go far for what you need. A Family Mart on the corner!

Hi guys
Just a quick question : is the inroom safe in Nova Platium large enough to store a laptop?
Thanks
Gotoborg,
Even if you don't like the place, and you like the area, you shouldn't have a problem finding another by just walking out the door!
LBMThe Q is: Should I go to the right or left when I come out of the door?
No just kidding.
Thanks LBM. I'm sure that it will ok at this place.
Now I only have to get some more info about some good places for the fun action. But that belong to an other tread.
Hi guys

ThanksI think you can store a small laptop in the safe. A 17" won't fit.

Some rooms on LK Metro.
Near Soi Buakhow and Soi Diana Inn.
Same street as the Devil's Den
Armageddon Guest House
http://armageddonbar.com/
Pros:
* Fast Internet, no problem with VOIP
* Rooms are huge
* Good price and location. I paid 650 a night for big room. * If you stay I recommend the Galaxy room.
* My room had a fish tank, girls loved feeding the fish
* 2 ceiling fans in my room and big fridge
* Friendly Staff
* Alligator in the tank in the bar, pretty cool.
* Open air bar (open entrance) and 1 pool table, many TVs with sports on.
* All bar customers were friendly
Cons:
* Room lighting is poor, needs bigger lights or more. At night I could not see my keyboard.
* Bad smell in the room from the bathroom plumbing. I stayed in one room, then had to move due to reservations but the 2nd room had a more powerful odor so I left. Every girl made a comment about it.
* No table or desk for laptop. I had to bring in the patio glass table which was too small.
* Only found 3 power outlets, all in the corners of the big room. Difficult to plug things in so I recommend to get your own surge protector.
Other Notes:
My air conditioner was not working properly, they had it fixed in 48 hours by Thai technician. Safe is small and not big enough for a 10" notebook.
Metro Apartments
http://www.metro-apartments-pattaya.com/
Pros:
* Fast Internet, no problem with VOIP
* Big fridge, small breakfast table with constant power for a laptop.
* Friendly Staff
* Good price and location, I paid 750 for a Superior
* Clean reception/bar area, air conditioned, 3 pool tables in the bar
* Rooms are modern looking except TV, clean, no smell.
* They have a shelf full of books and DVDs you can borrow for free great for watching movies with a girl.
* My room had two air conditioners and a ceiling fan.
Cons:
* Small / older TV. My remote didn't work properly.
* Shower has no curtain so you can easily get everything in the bathroom wet if you're a tall guy.
* Little lighting for the Armoire so I have to pull some clothes out when getting dressed and kind of annoying.
Other Notes:
Safe is small and not big enough for a 10" notebook. Only the 1 outlet works when you leave the room (in case you're charging something) and all other electricity turns off when you leave the room.
At both places I had a balcony facing the LK Metro street, but it wasn't noisy at night when the AC was running. I slept well at both places.
There are two places to get laundry done, the two places are next to each other. I recommend the place closest to Armageddon Guest House. It looks like a bar but the people are nice. Also if you have a shirt, like a real Polo shirt, tell them it needs special attention or it might get ruined. I think this rule applies to anywhere you get laundry done.

Just a quick question : is the inroom safe in Nova Platium large enough to store a laptop?

Yes...It's one of the biggest ones I've encountered in my travels.
A local expat resident in Jomtien suggested the Markland to me...12 story hotel on bottom and 12 story condo units on top. Around soi 1 across from the beach with pool. Not sure about internet. Anyone have any info. Supposed to be about 7000bht/wk. Reasonably good locatiion. GF friendly. thanks
Just returned from a great 3 weeks at the Nova Platinum. But they have just started construction on their 3rd building, which is adjacent to their beautiful pool area. It's a little unsettling to have a 100 foot tall construction crane circling overhead while relaxing by the pool. Add to this the noise and associated dirt of a high rise building under construction just a few feet away, and it's clearly not the ideal setting for a relaxing day at the pool.
If you're not a pool person, than this will probably be a non issue for you.

Around the corner on soi 13, AA hotel.
Currently staying at Areca Lodge. There is construction in the rear area, and the pool there will be closing Sept 1 (the front pool will remain open). Best to avoid rooms in the back.
My room faces the front, and there's no noise problem. Late night party music from nearby bars, which is minimal in any case, is easily masked by the air conditioning.

Hi,
I am thinking of booking the Dynasty Inn in Pattaya and taking the shuttle from the Dynasty Grande- BKK late October. I am wondering if it's worth it to spend the extra $7USD and book the Superior Room vs. The Standard Room.
I know it's only $7 but why book it if it's not worth it? How do the rooms differ?
Thanks

I say go for the "superior" room. They are bigger, more recently renovated, cleaner, and lighter. Bathroom also has a much nicer shower. On my last stay there I ended up in one of the regular rooms since they were out of the "superior" rooms.

I stayed at dynasty INN pattaya a few years ago, have they upgraded they're televisions to UBC or at least more channels. When I was there they only had 12 channels I think
Ploughman mentioned http://www.hotels2thailand.com/ as a site to look for hotels, might have other hotels than listd on www.agoda.com
Mentioned here:
925839
As for hotels (since someone mentioned), FWIW you can sometimes find deals like $40 or $50-off for 3 days (electronic coupons) on dealfinder or travel boards. Orbitz had a recent one with code AORB40. Have done a few trips on those, and in Pattaya it dropped the all-in net per day to $13, even with breakfast and the room booked for 2 people. Sunshine Hotel on soi 8 is probably the best mongering choice linked to Expedia and Orbitz, with Citin Loft another girl-friendly possibility. Expedia also lists the Sawadee places, but I avoid them.
Hotels2thailand.com has lots of places that no one else has...it's run by a Thai travel agency that'll do the bookings via phone if necessary. There are also places like the AA (soi 13) or Nautical (soi 10) that have been around for a long time, are in good locations and can take walk-ins in low season. Rooms can often be a bit tired, though, with not all problems fixed or everything necessarily working.
For first-timers, I'd recommend against booking in Jomtien (too far away from most things) and say to take Naklua or Soi Bua Khaw only if other options in the baht-bus loop are booked out.

Fellow Mongers,
I am planing my next trip on christmas and new year.
Now I have included my list to:
Areca Lodge.
Nova platinum.
Sabai Resort.
Sabai Lodge
According to RTFF the aforementioned hotels are GF ofcourse i will write them seeking their confirmation but i always any thoughts and inputs will most appreciated as usual as far as location to walking street.
Yeah, Nova platinum is girl friendly. Just take her to the front desk so she can hand them her ID before heading to the elevator. If you go to the elevator first the security guard will yell at you to stop you.
Guys,
Nova Platinum asking for 2800 THB for room only very expensive i know i am going during the christmas and new year but i was there in 2006 at Sabai lodge and it was only 1600 THB can you help me guys with anything around 2000. THB want to save the money for the mongering hahah.

Csun 213,
Well as a matter of fact sabai lodge was ok but I need something upper standard don't get me wrong I need to change although when in Bangkok I will always stay at Majestic Grande.
With respect to Pattaya, phuket I like to change the resorts don't know why but I fear that through the years the hotel become outdate or lack of renovation last time I was at Sabai lodge was during new year 2006/2007.
Anyway there is Sabai Resort that I might check it out with respect to Areca lodge it is now definitely not on my list it is very small hotel and I now remember that when I checked it was under construction besides the lobby, restaurant and the rooms seems very standard from their website.
I hope my Agent get me good price at Nova Platinum on Asia Rooms I get rate of 62. US$ Guys any other suggestions for nice resort in south Pattaya with good pool and room near walking street will be most appreciated.
Cheers,

Its been awhile since I’ve contributed anything useful. Thought I would post a bit about North Pattaya, a topic not much mentioned here in the forum. And I know that this is the Pattaya Hotel Forum but in the end you’ll see the tie-in. I strongly recommend this part of town for staying to those of us old farts with a lot of time on their hands. After all we aren’t nuts deep 24-7. Most of us require a little RandR between punts. As mentioned I posted this in the hotel forum in the hopes that while folks are looking ahead to rent they would stumble upon this and truly consider North Pattaya as a destination. While more layed back and quite upscale , North Pattaya is just the place for extended stays and it is still only 5-10 minutes from Beach Road. There is a link or two at the end of this post for rentals info at Wong Amat Beach.
First off the North Pattaya Area begins at Pattaya Nua, or Pattaya North Road. It is where one first comes into town on the bus and also hits the top of Beach Road. It is also where the “round-about” is located at the top end of 2nd road. Second Road becomes Naklua road here after passing the round-about and continuing north.
North Pattaya Area includes the majority of the tallest of Hotels and Condos strung along Wong Amat Beach and is considered the upscale part of Pattaya.
There is a noticeable change in ambience and character here. More like the Pattaya of old. Oh, there are still thousands of girls and plenty of customers but for the most part the customers have become what might be classified as recreational punters! That is to say they tend to be over 40 years old and enjoy a nice peaceful beach, excellent food, lower prices and are able to keep their pants on for longer than just a few hours. They/We are no longer able to brag about how many skirts we raised in 1 hour either. Rather we like to slice off a chunk (when we can) between reading a book, sun tanning or sleeping the day away. Oh yes we still dream about the good ol’ days and occasionally still have our moments.
I just now walked up from the beach to a high rise condo where I have an un-interrupted view of every part of the bay. Condo rental fee? 16,000 baht one month. That’s less than 600bht per night and it includes a fabulous pool, weight room, sauna, poolside restaurant, in room internet, cable tele, 550 square foot beautiful rooms, kitchen, breath taking views, in room safe, 24 hour security and a nice large sea side deck. I was down at the beach having some lunch at a wonderful restaurant (literally on the beach) that consisted of a large plate of breaded and deep fried shrimp and onion rings with a banana shake. Total cost??? 95 Baht!! A nice helping folks! This place is located up Naklua to soi 16 at Wong Amat Beach. Turn towards the beach on Soi 16 and go to the end, make the corner towards the north and continue to just past the Family Mart. You are now at the foot of the older THREE TALL WHITE CONDOS which are seen from the main part of beach road. They are in fact the northern most tall condos in Pattaya and are on Wong Amat Beach proper. Anyways in between the two beachside tall rises is a small soi heading to the beach. Disregard the “private road” sign if you are going to eat at one of the many beach restaurants or are staying in the area. It really is OK and you will have no problems, promise.
Anyways like I said the purpose of this post is to inform our members of alternative areas of Pattaya and encourage those staying a bit longer to check out the north part of town. Generally if you want a killer view room cheaply or if you are just the occasional spelunker you’d probably like this. To be sure it is not for everyone. Most likely not for the under 40 members. Transportation is the only downside. Of course there are motorbikes for rent next door and there are motorbike taxis everywhere but it is about a 30 baht ride to beach road from Won Amat Beach.
Enjoy the pix of the condo I stayed in below and also check out the link to the reality company included in this post. It is a tried and true reality company which is one of the few that offer monthly condo rentals and they are located in Pattaya. I think they have rentals in other parts of Pattaya/Jomtien as well but not sure. Now I know I know what some of you are thinking: I’m spamming for my business……but I’m not. Promise. They have treated me well and I trust them, that is the only reason I offer their link. They sold a Condo I had a few years back in this neighborhood for me and now rented this place to me. Excellent English spoken as well as Thai and Russian (maybe others as well?)

Fellas,
Give this place a try, instead of always wanting to be in the heart of the rat race!
Central Pattaya, Near the Big C, plenty of Beer Bars, 2 or 3 Soapies to try.. and not so congested but still in the action of things including a Soi from Soi 6, and in between Beach Rd. and 2nd Rd. minutes to Walking St... and at the same time might pick up something on the Songthaw. Also minutes to North Pattaya Naklua, and check out what Wanderlust reported in that area... more Beer Bars!

Will be headed back to Pattaya at the end of October, beginning of November. I usually stay at White House on Soi 13 but am interested in the new Holiday Inn (Priority Club Gold Member).
I'll be spending most of the time with my regular but I'll have a few days solo.
Does anyone have any intel on if Holiday Inn is GF or not?
Feel free to PM with the info. Thanks.

Big Daddy 1906,
The holiday Inn, on a visual look doesn't look like it will be finish by the time you indicated. But of course I don't know what they are promoting?
This hotel is tall, right next to the Amari, near the top of Beach Rd. One would think it wouldn't be girlfriendly.. Although it is a Holiday Inn, it looks HI-SO to me.

Any of you guys used this hotel lately? I was there about 6 years ago. Location and price was the best. Located at Soi 13 and the Beach Road, nice

Razor, your probably thinking of the AA Hotel at about 13 Beachroad. Right on the corner at Beach Road as you said. It has a pool on the street side 3rd or 4th floor.
I haven't stayed there either for about 2 years but stayed there alot before that. The location is perfect as you say. Anyways as far as I know there has been no renovations or upgrades and should look like it has "aged" 6 years since you have been there! It is still a deal though for the location at 800-950 baht per night. Good security safes and honest staff.
Boukow near Soi Diana Inn is the place for good rooms at decent prices now but of course is much farther from walking street. Large clean rooms about 650 with A/C on both corners of Boukow at Soi Diana. Good action in that part of town though also.
Wanderlust,
Exactly and it was jewerly shop also. When I was there, I already saw that some of the rooms need urgent renovation, well I think is time to look
somewhere else in my next time. I have in mind a few, but still working on.

The location is directly across the street from the Famous Lucifer's mid walking street. The name is "Walking Street Guest House" Phone number 0811504628. Free Wi-fi,Hot water, InRoom Safe, King Bed, Refrigerator, 32" Flat screen!! Only 600 baht pernight. All this and clean well appointed rooms. A VERY DO-ABLE CRAWL HOME as well!!! A Downside: Loud at night, Rooms small. Worth a try at any rate.

I have a friend who is renting a Condo 2 Blocks from Walking Street on Pattaya South (Also called Pattaya Tai). They can be rented for 1 month OR longer. In the past it was very difficult to find properties willing to rent for short term but the slow economy and fewer tourists has changed that.
Here is the info. First off the building is located directly east of the Wat on Pattaya South. It is the tall white building (maybe 20 floors). It is a vintage building to be sure but I have been inside and it isn't totally lame. There are some rooms available with a really nice view of the bay and downtown. They typically go for about 12-15 thousand baht per month. Non-view rooms go for 6-9 thousand. You can contact the office or the two shops onsite next to the entrance. There are fliers on the shop windows listing the rooms available and prices. The best thing about this place of course is location, location, location and the ability to short term. Rooms have a kitchen, balcony, bathroom, bedroom and a livingroom. Count 'em, 4 rooms folks! 2 minute stumble back home from beachRoad and walking street.
As said before this is not a new building or particularly nice. About the same quality as AA hotel mentioned a few posts back. Only cheap, easy and located well.

Guys, don't discount this idea of picking a bigger room and settling in for a month or more. It really is quite peaceful, almost like all the comforts of home in the middle of mardi gra. Certainly worth a try. See my post from last week for locations on the North End of town. An infinately nicer choice of properties for a month or more.
I'll be arriving in Pattaya in early November, and much to my annoyance I see that the cost of my usual hotel, Baron's Beach (Soi 9), jumps from 1080 Bht to 1800 Bht on the 1st November. So I'm looking for a different bedroom...
But: I have one particular requirement that I can't usually find out from hotel details, and that is a spacious walk-in shower! I just can't stand showering in a bath with a hose and a shower curtain, quite apart from the opportunities for fun in the shower ...
Can anyone recommend a clean, smart (girl-friendly) hotel in central Pattaya with a walk-in shower? I'm sure there are plenty of them... Around 1000 Bht in November? Wi-fi a bonus, and I don't care about breakfast.
It seems that it will be my stay in Pattaya since it is close to the action price will be 2830 THB for Deluex Terrace facing pool and 2130 THB for Garden zone i thinkg i will settle 2130 THB Breakfast included. for the period from 22/12/2009 till 29/12/2009
Aerca lodge will be in the sum of 1990 Thb and they will charge complusory gala dinner 2000 THb and 2000thb for airport pick up !!! absurd and Nova Platinum is far from action.
Airport pickup at 1600.THB including Toll way fee dont know but in 2006 it was cheaper i think it was 1200 THB for pickup.
I think i can take a taxi from Airport to pattaya cheaper than 1600.

I've used the service of Mister T. Taxi several times in the past and highly recommend it: 1000 baht (toll fees included) from Bangkok Airport to Pattaya.
E-mail: mr_ttaxi@hotmail.comDitto that great never had any problems even when my flight has arrived late.

Met a girl in Lucifer Disco last night, bought her back to the Baron Beach Hotel. She was 19, the hotel wouldn't let her in, as I was told by the night porter that the hotel policy is the girl must be at least 20 to come in. Tried to offer him some cash but nothing worked.
I have one more night in Pattaya and don't have a hotel yet. Would like to see her, any one know of any hotels where this shouldn't be a problem?

There must be a million.
Try Dynasty Inn on Soi 13. Maybe more than you want to pay, but.

Try the Eastiny 7, or Soi 7, or Eastiny Plaza on Soi 8, they most likely will pay you to bring her in?

Hi all
I am considering staying at either Walking Street Guesthouse or Queen Vic, and would appreciate any advice.
Walking Street Guesthouse seems like an ideal location, and very reasonably priced. However my only concern is security. As a low budget place, smack in the middle of the melee, will my luggage be safe in my room?
Queen Vic seems to be a bit of a favourite with this forum. I see the hotel is located above the bar/restaraunt. Does this mean a 'walk of shame' through those wining and dining?
I'm hoping they have a seperate entrance leading straight the the rooms.

I don't think you have to worry about the walk of shame at Queens, The place is located in Soi shame, the lobby and restaurant patrons eating are all shameful and the owner sitting at the bar looks shameful. Shame is part of the atmosphere!

thanks for the info lbm.
having done a bit more research, it seems soi 6 has an agressive lady-boy problem. i don't much fancy the idea of fighting through a sea of 6ft nutters, after a few hours of drinking!
with the help of this forum, i have drawn up the following shortlist
malee hotel - 700bt
walking street guesthouse - 600bt
anna jet's guesthouse soi 7 - 550bt
galaxy suites - 1000bt
i do plan on visiting [CodeWord900] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord900) and devils den on more than one ocassion, so will probably end up staying somewhere near lk metro.
any suggestions would be most welcome.

On top of that, there is a fire escape at the back of the hotel. You can get to the room with your girl using that and avoid the main hotel entrance completely. In fact after, I think, midnight you can only use this method to get into the hotel. Really not a problem.
I enjoyed my stay at the QV. Reasonable room, TV & DVD and free Wireless. Oh, and cheap as well. What more could you want for a short stay. No pool, but you pays for what you gets. . . I'd go there again. Also, the location is good IMHO.

You'r luggage is never safe in any room anywhere in Pattaya! Anything valuable must be kept in a safe. WSGuest house has in room safes.
Also try the hotels at the corners of Soi Diana and soi Bukouw just across the street from the very popular girly bar mentioned many times on this forum (the name escapes me..(yup, DRUNK)) 1 block from Lolittas and devils den. Both hotels are GREAT deals on mid range hotels under 700bt. Did I mention GREAT deals??? They really are. two hotels, Opposite corners. One has 24 hour 35bt beers in a big open casual drinking area on the corner, hotel upstairs.

Recommend the Queen Vic, soi 6. In room safe facility. Separate entrance yes. However, the hotel is some way up from Walking street, several min by baht bus or a 15 - 20min walk allows you to see what`s on sale along beach rd. Numerous times i did not make to walking st, bit of shopping got in the way.

Metro appartments is a good place to stay but book early as it very popular.
There are alot of decent places on soi lk
I prefer Charlie Place on the corner of Soi Bakow and Soi Dianna. Very clean around 800 b and great people, close to action and good restaurants.
Stay away from Swasadee, poor quality. Pasadena Inn is on Soi LK Metro and looks very good, new. About 1000 b.

Friends, I have been reading up on the Pattaya trend pertaining to the above mentioned hotel and the report seems to be mixed as to whether it is girl-friendly (GF) or not. I have emailed (7 days ago) the hotel regarding joiner-fee and have yet not received any reply from them.
My friend and I will be going to Bangkok in early December and we wanted to spend a few days in Pattaya since we have a total of 2 weeks vacation time. I am entrusted to make the necessary arrangements and have decided on either Citadines (Soi 23) or Sacha Uno (Soi 19) in Bangkok (any negative feedback so far about the GF status of the hotels...?), but I am stuck on accommodation in Pattaya.
I would really appreciate if the experts on Pattaya scene could give me an update on:
(1) The GF status of Sunbeam hotel.
(2) Also the map on the website showed it as located between Soi 7 & 8. Is this a good "action" location?
Thanks a bunch for the kind assistance.

(1) I get different info regarding the GF status, some say 300 baht fee per guest. Someone says that you can book a doubleroom and then they dont charge you a joinerfee.
(2) Soi 7&8 is a very good action location.
Personally I would choose another hotel. Some say Sunbeam is a ripoff. I like the Eastiny group. Eastiny Plaza (soi 8) is a bit to much in the middle of the action but I like the Eastiny Place (soi8).
I know I`ve seen the Sunbeam sign but have never walked inside.

After extensive search.
I booked 1 Reu Thai Paradise room at Sabai Resort for 5 nights from 29/12/2009 till 31/2010 at the rate of 78.US$ (2605.4 THB)cheaper by 32us$ from the rate given to me by my travel agent
I used direct rooms website i think that is a good rate considering that it is the peak season 3 years ago i stayed at Sabai lodge from the same group at the rate of 1650.THB however i think the sabai resort room in paradise room is bigger and better thus i found this rate is good one.
As for my stay in bangkok i booked a Grande Superior room the unbeatable Majestic Grande at the rate of 104.US$ approximately 3432.THB not bad too my last stay was in september and i paid 85.US$ 2805 THB.

I have read on the forum that Sunshine is quite popular amongst members. I searched the Web and there are 2 Sunshine located in Pattaya, ie Sunshine and Sunshine Gardens. Before I decide, could I seek some clarification on which hotel is nearer to the action areas and is GF?
Thanks in advance.

Just had a week in the above hotel, The hotel is a boutique style hotel which is quite nice but I think will age and deteriorate very quickly. At the moment there is extensive building work going on at the back of the property near the pool, this has been commented on before. The hotel is quite pricey for food and drink, a small beer at the pool side bar is 150 Baht, rooms are priced at 1600 for a deluxe. Worth noting the hotel is very noisy at night, I requested a quiet room and still the noise was annoying, there are a lot of Arabs and Indians using this hotel, I witnessed an argument in the parking lot which is below the 2nd wing, there were 3 Indian guys and a Thai girl and she was very angry, she was shouting at the Indians saying they weren't paying the rate agreed before she came back. I didn't see the outcome but she was well pissed off.
My weeks stay at Nova was good, however I wouldn't go back and I can't really recommend it.
May the force be with you.

After reading through the forum, I have basically decided that my friends and I (6 pax) will stay at Sunshine Residence (new wing) in Pattaya. As I read further on other forum, I came across several reports that mentioned the hotel is racist against Asian. I find that disturbing given the fact that it is located in Thailand.
My questions to the experts on the "adult" affairs in Pattaya are:
(1) Is it true about the racism comments pertaining to Sunshine Hotel and Residence because amongst our group, there are 1 Eurasian, 2 Chinese, 1 Indian and 2 Malay. If it is true than we will certainly not want to give business to an establishment that does not welcome us......
(2) If the racism comment is not true and the author(s) of those reports just want to make the hotel look bad, then we will stay. I would just like to seek confirmation from fellow members here that the said hotel is still GF. We will certainly book "twin sharing" for all the six rooms.
Thanks in advance.

hi chachi,
i'll be going to pattya in march 2010 and am looking for a decent, inexpensive hotel, too. if you go before me could you kindly let me know via pm what you find out? i really appreciate it. i am also looking to sample some of the infamous thai stick there (and in bkk) so any additional info on that is also much appreciated. if you are there also in march perhaps we can hook up. from my forum name you can rightly guess i am into big boobs!
regards,
d cupshi d cups,
i have finally decided to stay at the metro apartments on soi lk metro. great location for [CodeWord900] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord900), devils den, and some good non-pushy bars to relax in. 840 baht (high season). i'll be in pattaya in 2 weeks!
i'll be sure to post my fr upon my return. although they do have in-room wifi, so if i get a chance i'll provide running commentary!
i'm not planning to be in los in march, but who knows!
with regards to bkk. i have been twice, and both times stayed at stable lodge. good location, relatively cheap, girl-friendly, quite at night and fanstastic food. hope this helps.
To other mongers, I just read a report on Nova Platinum hotel and it doesn't seem like it is a good place to stay. I have a reservation for early Feb. I am checking on the flipper house as an alternative. Can you give me some feedback that is up to date. I prefer something that is close to action but is also quiet. Yes I have RTFF.
Mackin
I usually stay at Secrets when I want to be near W.S, but I tried Galaxy Suites for the first time this week. From my experience I’d say the following: Secrets rooms are larger than G.S but more basic. The shower in G.S is above the toilet, so getting showered is not much fun; Secrets’ showers are fine. Both are above bars so both are noisy but I’ve never found it to be a problem at Secrets. At G.S it is very loud from about 8pm onwards, the noise doesn’t stop until around 3am. This is fine if you hit the bars between those times but no good if you want to be in your room earlier than that. I spent my time clock watching lest I go back to the room too early. Just my opinion but I wouldn't return

Well if you want it quiet you should not go for the Flipper(so far as I know). My suggestion is Eastiny Place soi 8, just over the block from Flipper.
Choose a room located high and facing towards second road. You will find yourself in the action but still very quiet.

Definitely GF and no joiner for first guest. Not sure about more than one. Fantastic hotelThanks. There's a great deal on Agoda right now. Two nights with breakfast for about $190 total.
In the past I've stayed at the Oreca Hotel (soi Dianna) because they were girlfriendly and they had a (basic) fitness room. I havent been there for nearly 2 years now, but I was planning on returning until I read the recent unfavourable reviews. I'm due to fly out to Thailand the end of the month and I now find myself looking for a girlfriendly hotel with a fairly decent gym. Staying fit is important to me and a hotel with a gym is one of the first thinks I look for. I was also considering the LK metropole, but again the recent unfavourable reviews for this hotel has soured my intent to stay there. I'm aware the more upscale hotels general have excellent fitness rooms and I would willingly pay the rates if these hotels were girlfriendly. So my question is are there any other hotels that are girlfriendly with a decent gym/fitness room in Pattaya?
I am having exactly the same dilemma. I stayed at the Areca Lodge once in 2004 and I enjoyed their rather central location and convenient fitness room along the swimming pool.
However the Deluxe room was definitely already a bit worn out and lust-killing for me. I'd be happy to have an alternative below the 2000THB limit...
Any suggestion welcomed...

Their website claims that they have WiFi now, but I don't know for sure. You should ask them directly. Incidentally, I don't know when you are looking to stay, but BJ Lodge is fully booked most of December. I'm personally staying at the Sabai Inn for my trip during the 1st half of December, and I really like the place - but I never travel with a laptop on vacation - I simply use a desktop at one of the various internet cafes to check my e-mails.
Much obliged ChaChi! Enjoy yourself in Pattya (I know you will)! Yes, do give us a full report, please :)Hi D Cups,
Just got back from Patts, and yes had a fab time, I have posted a brief FR in the pattaya thread.
Hi all,
I spent my first night in Pattaya at the WS Guesthouse. The owner (Johan) seems like a good bloke. He arranged the cab from BKK airport via Mr T taxiz.
The guesthouse is directly opposite Lucifer's on WS. It's above an agogo so can get quite noisy, but hey, it WS!!
It's quite a basic room, but for 590bt it's fine. Nice big bed, decent shower, flat screen TV, in-room safe and free wifi.
It's OK for a night or two of Walking Street debauchery, but not for a week or two.
http://walkingstreetguesthouse.com/
http://www.liquidloungepattaya.com/home.html
I moved here to get away from walking street. The guestrooms are above the bar on the corner of Soi Buakhao and Soi LK Metro.
I wanted a large room, but there was only a small room available. The small room was pretty big, twice the size of the room i had on walking street.
Private entrance, or you can go throught the bar until 02.00am. In-room safe, free wifi and balcony. There is no lift, but only max 2 flights of stairs.
For 600bt this room was great value. I think the large rooms have a kitchen and are 800bt.
I barfined a few girls from the bar, but not a great selection. However i was talking to the new gaffer who assured me he was looking to add some decent talent to the staff.
All in all, well worth the money.
Chachi420,
Did your room at Liquid Lounge have a microwave?
Chachi420,
Did your room at Liquid Lounge have a microwave?
No there was no microwave, but the larger rooms do have fully equiped kitchens including microwave.
I did eat the odd early morning cold leftover pizza!
If you do book, go for the large room. 800bt is value for money.

It was gf when I was there 3 years ago. I suppose things can change. I personally thought it was a great property. Super location. You can enter the hotel from a side door to the mall. The elevator is right there so you don't have to walk past reception. Although someone is sometimes posted there, it was never a problem. Enjoy and give a report. A recent poster complained about the place...but I can't imagine Marriott would let their standards slide.

just spent 2 nights there. i think a little overpriced but ok, around 1600/night off agoda. superior seaview 6th floor room with lan (didn't try it), in room safety box (small), breakfast (didn't make it). good ac, good pool, almost got raped on the sun-lounger by a girl i fed too many tequilas to in the afternoon who came back for a swim.
gf for the first, 300 for each one after that. didn't seem too busy last week. noise from the bars wasn't really a problem. some good bars/ladies down soi 8. bit of a hike to ws.

Just done a forum search, no info came up. Does anyone know if the Citin loft hotel is girl friendly? There are some good prices available for this hotel and it gets good reviews, it is off my usual turf but my last stay in Pattaya at Nova Platinum was iffy.
May the force be with you.
Stayed at LK Renaissance one year ago, and was generally pleased with the place. Location to my liking, room decent, food ok.
Making another trip next month, and travel agent who I generally trust is telling me the LK Renaissance has gone down hill. Claims it is beginning to be sort of shabby and now recommends a place called Hotel Vista.
Anyone out there able to provide direct comparison of the two places? Or recent details about either one?
Thanks much guys.
Not sure if this was posted yet, but here's a great site full of places to stay in Pattaya and Bangkok from hotels to apartments.
http://www.soidb.com/en/pattaya/index.html
I have a mate coming Into BKK for a few days then off to Patt’s. I would normally put a mate up at my place but he has this thing about wanting his own space, so be it.
I am going to book him into Livingstone’s Lodge as The Pro seems to hate it so that means it must be the greatest hotel in Asia, if not the universe and my mate like’s soi 33 anyway.
My question is more about Patt’s. I have heard Pattaya Secrets is cool.
I am not looking for the low down on these hotels and or every other hotel in Patt’s just a senior member to confirm that they are not dumps and my mate will be well taken care of as I cannot be with him. Even though I pop into Patt’s about once every 6 months I never stay and just head back home to Bangers so my hotel knowledge is not that good.
Price is not an issue within reason, just guest friendly, nice inside and good location for the ladies.

Hi guys,
I am planning a trip to Pattaya, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Holiday Inn Pattaya? Is it girl friendly establishment? Location from the happening scenes. Etc
Much appreciated.

Thanks much guys.Stayed in a one bedroom suite in LK Renaissance last month. The hotel is in great condition and I had no complaints at all. I'm going back to Pattaya in January and have booked there again. Excellent hotel.

Generally is bringing girls to the hotel an issue in Pattaya especially since it is kinda expected from single/male tourists.

Just send them an email and ask, most hotels are upfront about their guest policies.

After trying to find out if the above hotel is GF, I read some reports saying drinks are very expensive and false charges have been padded onto the bill.
Decided to return to LK Renaisance again which is in a perfect location.
I arrive on the 5th Dec anybody want to meet up for a beer PM me or visit soi 6 during the afternoon, just look for a guy who has a bintang vest on and his cock in a Thai girls mouth.

No problem to bring back girls: it's GF
Just be careful with the room bar: they tried to charge me 2 cans I didn't drink! Just an advice: when you check in verify if not missing something in the bar.

Much appreciated. It's on North end of Pattaya Beach on Beach Rd. So you have Soi 2 bars, soapies and other bars on Second Rd. It's expensive, but I was lucky to get a room for $30US. Showers have a glass wall that faces the bedroom. All rooms have a view of the bay.

Fraser needs to be GF cos its not customer friendly !!!
Good Location, nice hotel, crap in all other respects inc service and facilities.
Breakfast is shit to average and the hotel is noisy too!!

I'm staying here now, in the Residence section. Paid 1600 Bht per night.
Unimpressed.
Poor start at reception when they struggled to find my booking and insisted I print it out at the local internet cafe. I refused and showed all the details to them on my laptop. They then threw the key down on the counter in my general direction.
Rooms are good size, but a bit drab. Bathroom is old and a bit mildewy. Bath and shower rather than my preferred walk-in shower. Aircon cannot be turned up above nominal 24C, so it is either too cold to sleep or stuffy. There is no internet access from the room.
The rooms are noisy (OK, it is on Soi 8, that's not their fault), both in the evening and the morning. But convenient location.
I didn't want to go to the Baron Beach Hotel because in high season its price is 1800 Bht. However it is a much superior hotel, and much better value, especially on the quiet side of the building.
Would I return? No.
Just to confirm is LK Renaisance girl friendly?

Yes, girl friendly. Yes, the minibar is absurdly expensive, but there is a FamilyMart about a minute's walk from the hotel. No bill-padding on my bill - 240bt under what it should've been, in fact. No probs about location because the hotel's songtheaw service is excellent and the place is only a few minutes walk from Bukhaow and 2nd Road anyway. Two big downsides for me: The swimming pool is crap; the cleaner on floor five is crap and dishonest (not a thief, just didn't do her job and lied to her boss when I complained). Never got the room cleaned properly and she didn't get a tip. TIT.
Try Flipper House http://www.flippergroup.comThanks, this looks good.

I stayed there in September. Service (reception) sucked. Totally uninspired as if they don't want your business. I paid something like 1700B per night.
When I wanted to take back three girls to my room they just refused saying there's a two girl max policy. It was also no use discussing it as they would not listen to me anymore. They wouldn't even consider extra joiner fees. That's what I mean by they SUCK. I checked out immediately.
Anyway, any of you know if there's really a max number of guests you can take up to your room?

Flipper Lodge will probably already be sold out for a peak week like that. You might try one of the Eastiny group of hotels that are on the same Soi - this includes Eastiny Inn, Eastiny Place, and Eastiny Plaza, all within 100 meters of each other. I'm going to be at the Eastiny Inn next week.

mates, i have received many pms asking me on my "feel" for pasadena lodge since i am now staying there. instead of replying to each and everyone of them i have decided to post my two cents worth (this is not an advertisement as i am not connected to the owner nor have i any vested interest except as a service to my fellow forum members to evaluate on another hotel in pattaya):
(1) the place is new (less than 2 yrs old....i believe);
(2) rooms are clean with in-room safety box;
(3) aircon is cold (controllable) and all amenities fully functional;
(4) bed is firm (not hard) and great for "fun" and sheets are clean (no unnecessary stains);
(5) internet is free (wifi) in the room;
(6) they always take the lady's id when you bring one back for overnight;
(7) 24-hrs security;
(8) on your left is devil's den and on your right is [CodeWord900] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord900) (what more can you asked...hehehehe);
(9) beer bars is everywhere (soi diana & lk metro) and the girls here are not so harden as walking street; and
(10) walking street, soi 6,7 & 8 are all a baht bas away.
reason my friends did not want to stay there is because they are more use to big luxury looking lobby. that pasadena lodge does not have. its entrance is very cosy and full of green plants. to me it is very relaxing.
will i stay here again....definitely.
btw the lady manager (ae) is really charming and "delicious"...hahahaha
cheers

Appreciate the Info. I had tried to book myself in there for January but nothing available in my time frame. SO I am across the street at the Billabong. Just spent 8 nights at Queen Victoria on Soi 6, which is OK, but having spent a lot of time there in the past years it was time for a change. Plus, as we know, Thai fems have great memory so new ground must be found. So will try the LK Metro area.

Nothing but a good experience for me at the Nova Platinum. Am suprised its not more popular. Around 1450 baht inclusive on Agoda with GOOD wifi included in rooms. Pool is pretty nice and reception is pleasant. Get a room facing away from beach if possible since there is construction off behind the hotel.
I actually like the location , its pretty convenient to get anywhere. No problem bringing 2 friends, they just check id's.

Can anyone suggest a good hotel max 1500 baht a night with a good location? We are 3 guys coming to Pattaya for the 1st time on 1.1-4.1. So it is high season and the recommended flipper lodge is fully booked at least according to their web site. What is the best service on the internet to make a booking or should we just travel there without a booking and get rooms then? We prefer 3 single rooms which gives enough room and privacy for some action.

I can get a good discount at a hotel right on Beach Road near Walking street, very near walking street, for around that price for a regular room. Unfortunately as this property does me favors I don't want to post it if you're interested PM me.
Believe single room is 1600 or so but it is right on beach road right near walking street. With internet tax included. I'll be there and a few other ISG members about three or four of us will be there Jan 4 to Jan 10 also.
Amari has added another hotel to their chain in Pattaya named Amari Nova Gold. It’s an excellent hotel but the location sucks big time. No regular Baht Bus on its route so some Motor-Bike drivers are smelling blood and are trying to gorge some people. Still, NG is an excellent hotel with swimming pool and fitness center. Last week they had (daily) promotional rates of 791B, the rooms have computers and internet access but the (super) promotional rates are now history. They do have a Tuk-Tuk service to transport guests to Big C, but unless you have your own transportation, the location will be an inhibitor for many.

I am planning a trip to Pattaya for the last two weeks in February. I have been RTFF looking for the right hotel. Lots of good information but as this is my first trip to Thailand I was hoping for some recommendations.
I am looking for a hotel with a safe in my room (of course), good wifi as I will be using my computer for phone calls, English TV, pool, some type of fitness center, a balcony and of course GF. Also, a good location away from the noise so I can sleep late in the morning. Having a large shower with a bath that fits two (as I have seen in many pics) would be a plus.
I am flexible on price but would like to limit it to around 3000thb per night.
The travel agency knows why I am going (heh heh heh) but I don't like the hotels he has recommended.
Thanks in advance for all you help.

Have a look at http://www.pattayaone.com (http://www.pattayaone.com/). The design of this website is poor, but there is valuable information about hotels in Pattaya.
For instance, this webpage (http://www.pattayaone.com/jacuzzi.html) lists hotels that have jacuzzi in their bathrooms.

I have been to Pattaya twice this year. First time I stayed in Sandy Spring Hotel and the second time at LK renaissance. Both are recommended. LK is higher quality, but has a marginally worse location.
Both will suit your needs well.

Otto1111, if you can dig up some extra money, you can´t beat the Marriott for what you are looking for. (have bath tubs but the bathrooms are a bit small).
Hi guys, sorry to bother you but I would like to get some recommendation on some of the hotels that I have read here. 2 friends and I will be coming to Pattaya for the first time and would like some help in determining which hotels to book.
We are looking at a few Hotels from the reviews. We are leaning towards
Flipper House
Flipper Lodge (might be too noise?)
Metro Apartment
Queen Victoria Inn
Pasadena Lodge
Can you tell us anything about them as far as location? We would like to stay close to the action but not too close due to the noise.
We are leaning towards The Metro Apartment looks nice from the website and has microwave which might come in handy in warming cold pizza.
Don't need a pool because we will never use it however we do want to have an in room safe. We would like to stay under 1500B since we are not sure how much money we will be spending. Thanks for any help.

I can not speak for the other hotels on your list but for the Queen Victoria I've stayed there MANY times. It is right in the middle of the Soi 6 action. Walk out the front door and you are handsome man by many ladies. Walk out the back door and you are handsome man by many LB's on Soi 6/1. No, not my thing! It can be VERY noisy if someone is having a birthday party at a place near the QV on either Soi 6 or Soi 6/1. The moterbike taxi group on Soi 6/1 right behind QV do tend to play their music LOUD. Rooms are basic, free wifi but no microwave for your cold pizza.

I suggest you check out The Green Hotel in the middle of Soi 9. I haven't been there for a while. But it was a quiet place when I stayed there. It was within a walking distance to the beach and many bars. The price was 550 Baht per room. And you were allowed to bring a Thai lady with you to your room any time you wanted at no extra charge.
The beds in there are king size. Which is big enough for you and any girlfriend(s) you might bring with you. Although sleeping with two or three girlfriends at the same time on one bed might be a little too crowded. One of them might have to sleep on top of you.
Thanks guys for your fast response. I do have some questions.
Dan7373, does The Green Hotel have in room safe? I could not find the information on their website. I did send them an e-mail asking about the in room safe. Their rate have gone up to about 1100B for early March.
Jgm005, I know that Queen Victoria does have a in room safe and is in the heart of the fun area. I am just wondering how is the noise during the night? What part of the hotel should I request to avoid the noise? Lastly, I have heard there are a lot of lady boys hanging around there, is there any problem being harassed going in and out of the hotel?
Italian Guy, There have been a lot of good reviews on Flipper house due to it being close but not too close to the fun area and therefore should be quieter. Does it have in room safe.
One thing we need is in room safe. A good TV might be nice since I will be bring my own DVD movies (plan on watching on the plane back and forth) to watch in between girls and resting up so I won't be bored.
I think there was a review that the TV at Metro Apartment is old and small so not sure I would still consider it because I might not be able to connect my DVD player to their TV.
I would appreciate more help and feedback on these and other hotels.
I searched everything back to the beginning of this year which is how I narrowed down to these hotels however I am sure that there are other hotels that were not mentioned or just opened up. Thanks

all depends what you want to pay per night. some folks like baron beach but it has bad wifi, some folks like bay walk residence, there is a new one that opened up near city walk that has some ok deals but it has one major draw back, there are no walls in the room only glass partitions. that's great for your girl showering but i'm not really into them or me seeing each other rep001.... plus the water pressure i hear is a problem there.
queen vic really is in the heart of low end mongering (don't get me wrong i enjoy low end mongering) and the lb's there never gave me a hard time but then again you gotta be vigilant especially if they, or hell even the girls, get drunk and go overboard. if you want to fuck and only fuck and not stop fucking, queen vic is your hotel. i can tell you that the suite at queen vic and a full bore mongering session non stop is well worth the cost at 2,000 baht a night for the fun tub and the location to lean out and say, yo bar girl let's fuck, and just fuck for two days straight non stop.
there are so so so so so many hotels and side areas around pattaya that it would personally take too long to go over. you can get a little apartment away from the action for 2-3,000 baht per month and move around by baht bus, or pay that per night closer to the action.
if you tell us your budget it might help. some folks want 800 baht a night, some folks want 1,300 baht a night and some 2,000 baht a night (and some even more :d )
personally i really enjoy bay walk and get a good rate there, you are on beach road, close to walking street to actually walk it in two minutes, can walk or jump on a baht bus to get to soi 6 in a few minutes, next to royal... but we don't pay rack pricing there. it isn't cheap but it is secure, has no problem with up to 6 girls in the room at one time, has a good safe, large tv, stand up shower which is fun to play in with the girls but i do miss not having a whirl pool, and the most important for me is their internet is strong and reliable. i enjoy the deluxe rooms with the l shapped couches, plenty of possibilities there. but it's not the cheapest, just good location. it actually does have a little pool and gym also. :d
there are folks that know a lot more areas then i do i just happen to like the easy location of bay walk. baron beach would be good if i could rely on their internet but it's not strong and reliable so i can't stay there. you also got
www.leelawadeeresort.com
but i don't have much info on that and did not personally stay there only looked at it.
Hi Tansak KTV, thanks for your response. Here are more information.
We don't care about wifi since we are not bring out computer. We are on vacation so will only check e-mail once every couple of days.
Don't care about a view and don't really care about the high end hotel have to offer.
We are probably looking to spend around 1200 per night but that amount can go up if necessary. We are not sure how much we are going to spend per day since none of us have ever been there before.
We will only be doing short time since we don't want to have the girl spend the night. Figure if I like the girl, I can always get her the next morning or noon. Not all of us have the nick name Rabbit. We will probably just do one girl per day, at least that is our MO when we go to China.
We do need in room safe (one of us do not trust the lobby safe, long story), would like to have a TV that can hookup to DVD since we have brought portable DVD to watch on the long flights and also brought a bunch of DVDs in case we get bored.
I think we are probably leaning towards Flipper House based on some of the reviews here however don't know if they have in room safe. We have e-mailed then but have not heard back yet.
Would like to be within walking distance to Beach road (heard soo much about it) and all the go go bars.
Would like to be walking distance to a big supermarket so we can at least purchase fruit or other snacks (for eating while watching DVD).
Sorry to being so long winded but I figure the more information you guys know about us, the better you can help us in selecting a hotel.
Not sure how much fun we are going to have since none of us drink and some of us are a little shy but we are going to try.
Lastly, none of us speak Thai. All of our information are coming from this forum which is quite helpful.
As you know, I have been reading a lot of information here on the forum but the more I read, the more questions I have. So I will probably need to bother all the senior members here right until my flight. Thanks

Not sure how much fun we are going to have since none of us drink and some of us are a little shy but we are going to try.
Lastly, none of us speak Thai. All of our information are coming from this forum which is quite helpful.
There are 7/11's (convenience stores) every two feet it seems like so don't worry about food, sim cards, refill time cards, etc.... And you can get to Big C or Carrefour if you need to easily. Many punters don't drink so don't worry about that and most punters don't speak thai don't worry you will be Handsum Man....

Thanks, at least now I know that I won't stave. Just not sure if I like Thai food or not since I haven't tried them. My friends told me that the Thai food here in the U.S. is nothing like the real Thai food in Thailand.

I don't think the Thai food is that much better in Thailand than in the US, there are many great thai resturant here in the SF bay area, I don't even eat thai food when I go to Bangkok I just like to eat at the Mall, Fiji japanese and MK Chinese chain resturant is where all the thai girl like me to take them.

As said I have stayed at the Queen Victoria MANY times and always ask for a room facing Soi 6/1. The noise level is somewhat less on that side. I am a light sleeper and I have no problems aside from the occasional birthday party going on in the only real beer bar on Soi 6/1 which is behind the QV. And yes LBs do come on to you on Soi 6/1 but a polite 'Mai krup' and a veer around them works. Yes, you will get the usual shout out from them about their body parts and yours but ignore and keep on walking. You are NOT harassed going in or out of the QV. But you can not miss them when you exit right out the back door or go down the outside entrance (sort of like a fire escape that you use when going back after mid nite).
Thanks guys for your fast response. I do have some questions.

Not to be redundant, but are all Eastiny Hotels GF?
I was looking at Eastiny 7 since it says the Superior room has wifi, safe in room and fridge.
Any others stayed here lately and has info?
Thanks

Billabong- looks like good price
Eastiny 7
Can anyone help please.
Thanks.
Hi, I been doing more search on hotel and found Carlton Pattaya Hotel. It has a safe and seems to be close to the area at Soi 5. Anyone have any opinion about this hotel. The other hotel is Jack Master Mansion which is also in a good area at Soi 11 and 2nd street.
The other hotel is Billabong Hotel
So if you guys don't mind, please give me your opinion on the 3 hotels.
Carlton Pattaya Hotel
Jack Master Mansion
Billabong Hotel
Thanks
