Well done on that level of awareness! I had something almost identical happen in Moscow at the tail end of a business trip. In a bar, chatting with a local girl who was not your set-off-the-alarms supermodel but more like a pretty girl next door who scrubbed up really well. After a drink, her friend 'just happened' to walk into the bar, joins us and brings over another round of drinks.

In AC if you're staying on Red St, it's ok to do mild sessions of drunkerdness, but not if your hotel is somewhere else.

But to my advantage I never get drunk with a hooker, I do put my valuables in a safe and I just keep enough cash to pay her inside the bed side drawer. 2/. Part timers who meet guys through the friends of friends network. Sometimes they approach the guy, other times the reverse. Keen to meet in person and typically want to meet now. Not tomorrow, not later, NOW! They are happy to stay an hour, a night, a few days. Expectations and costs are trivial. These are the FB girls you want.

With respect, I'd guess your girl fits into the first category. You do what you enjoy but it's Angeles: the last thing you should be tolerating is grief from a girl. If she's not performing as required, just move on.

2 Options (saves me 1 night of paying for a hotel. Yea, I'm cheap):

(1) Head to Angeles and find a place that's open 24 hours and just kill 5-6 hours before checking into a hotel.

(2) Head to Subic Bay and basically do the same thing as above, with only having to kill 4-5 hours.

This trip was already planning on spending 3-4 days in Angeles and 3-4 days in Subic Bay.

Also, there is significantly more talent in AC, than in Subic. Note: I wouldn't be so quick to pass up a hotel, as several have "walk-up" prices, significantly lower than rack rates.

I assume you will have baggage so you need to find a place to store that as I doubt a gogo would welcome suitcases.

Short time hotels at both Angeles or Subic have cheap rates for 3 and 6 hour blocks.

Wings Lounge in NAIA T3 also has surprisingly comfortable capsule rooms and includes a shower, snacks etc.

I'd look closer at your options otherwise you may be choosing a false economy.

For the hotel, I didn't want to stay right on walking street. I went with a standard room at ABC. The standard room was awful. It was the smokiest room ever. The air circulation was non existent. The smoke just hung in the room. This old-time velvet covered everything, the room was dark and dingy, the bathroom was small, and the windows didn't open.

So I called the front desk, and fortunately an aqua tower room was available. The new room was so much better. The air was fresh, the windows opened, and there much more light. The bathroom was good sized. It felt like a completely different hotel. If not for the location it'd be fine.

Now that I've actually walked the streets there, I understand why the location is so important. It's not a far distance. It's a filthy distance.

The short walk from the hotel to walking street is bad. Plenty of annoying vendors, vehicles blocking the sidewalks, sleeping homeless, wires hanging down from utility poles, smelly garbage, and vehicles nearly hit me several times when I crossed streets. It's a vibrant area.

I'll definitely book a different hotel next time to avoid playing real life Frogger. The trouble is the selection of quality hotels is low. I'll probably try Fields Plaza next time.

The freelancers were the best part of AC. They weren't all great, but most were pretty good. There's not much work involved at all in acquiring them. Say Hello, and well, that's it.

I used Genesis for the Manila to SM Clark trip. It was okay. It took 1 hour 40 minutes to get there, 2 hours back. Cost 450 pesos each way. I didn't book ahead or anything. It was surprisingly on time both ways.

For the hotel, I didn't want to stay right on walking street. I went with a standard room at ABC. The standard room was awful. It was the smokiest room ever. The air circulation was non existent. The smoke just hung in the room. This old-time velvet covered everything, the room was dark and dingy, the bathroom was small, and the windows didn't open.

So I called the front desk, and fortunately an aqua tower room was available. The new room was so much better. The air was fresh, the windows opened, and there much more light. The bathroom was good sized. It felt like a completely different hotel. If not for the location it'd be fine.

Now that I've actually walked the streets there, I understand why the location is so important. It's not a far distance. It's a filthy distance.

The short walk from the hotel to walking street is bad. Plenty of annoying vendors, vehicles blocking the sidewalks, sleeping homeless, wires hanging down from utility poles, smelly garbage, and vehicles nearly hit me several times when I crossed streets. It's a vibrant area.

I'll definitely book a different hotel next time to avoid playing real life Frogger. The trouble is the selection of quality hotels is low. I'll probably try Fields Plaza next time.

I'd have to agree. The FL option in Angeles has always proven to be the best option for me. You can find some great options outside of the bar scence for a fraction of the price and much better service. Negotiate a LT price with follow up action the next day or thereafter. Taxi Driver Scams.Yes. The history of tourist / expat safety in Angeles City is mixed. Many mongers have been robbed and / or killed in Angeles City over the years. During the daylight hours, the main thoroughfares are generally safe. When darkness descends on the city, more predators come out. It is easy to forget that the country has parallel insurgencies in progress. That means that there are many fighting age males with some training and experience with firearms and edged weapons. The country has many illegal gunmakers that produce guns and ammunition at very affordable prices.

From time to time, a couple of Filipinos will go John Wick, and form a motorbike tandem team to target foreigners carrying expensive phones and strong currencies like USA Dollars, euros, pounds, or the Aussie. They ride up to a pedestrian target, the guy on the back dismounts and robs the target at gunpoint. If the victim resists, he is dispatched with a few shots and relieved of his possessions. The shooter hops back on the back of the motorcycle and off they go into the night. The crime is rarely ever solved.

Walking through dark alleys alone after midnight is not wise in Angeles City, and there is no reason for it. The best talent in the bars has already been snatched up long before midnight. Also, trikes are available for transportation after dark.

Use ATMs indoors at places with security guards. Assume at all 'ladies of the night' will steal your stuff if it is not locked up and out of sight. Avoid providing them the opportunity.

As for taxi driver scams, know what the average fare is for your trip if negotiating a flat fee. Otherwise, insist on use of the meter. Agree on terms before entering the taxi and don't put your luggage in the trunk where it can be kept hostage.

To avoid pickpockets, keep your money in zipped inner pockets. When the beggar children mob you on the street, keep their little hands out of your pockets, and keep moving. Some of them are left behind military children, and you might want to toss them some pesos but they will follow you every time you pass by.

Just got back from a short trip to Angeles. It's been about 2 years since my last visit. I flew into Clark airport and was able to book a Grab car from the airport to my hotel (Queens hotel) for about 300 PHP. That was the same price as 2 years ago and the ride only took about 20 minutes.

A friend of mine arrived at SM mall around 2 pm today on the P2 P Genesis bus from NAIA T3. Upon exiting the bus and waiting outside for the cargo hold. That's a 30 second walk from walking street your going to hop in and drive 5 seconds down the road stilling having to walk and get out and walk the rest of the 20 seconds? If you are worried about safety and you plan to go somewhere else besides walking street get the grab app and exclusively travel via grab and don't leave whatever establishment you are in until the grab is outside waiting. I would argue that a trike driver is more dangerous. People can also still see you in a trike unless its raining if your doing this for anonymity purposes.

Have an idea what the going trike prices are, ask him his price, counter with a low offer and give him a top. Don't leave your cwl phone,. Wallet exposed. Do not get drunk.

Hiring along the lines you suggest is not on. He would not know what you are talking about. Trikes are for short rides, less than 2 km max. There are also grab taxis and motorbikes, which the hookers use.

If you are sober, bouncers etc on Walking St will help you; just act cool. You will have little need for trikes in any event.

FYI. Trike stations are lined up with regular and known trike drivers to that station. No others are allowed in. Trike driver pay a few pesos to that station. When they get a rider they come back to the same station. Mostly they are known and trustworthy to an extent. Prices are fixed. Generally still 100 pesos a ride whether it is one passenger or 5.

Your offer of 1000,500 down and 500 upon your safe return is really nothing. Also the drivers are not mongers and will not know what to show you. The modernization of Red Street is completed. Full overhead strings of lighting from one entrance to the other completed. The sidewalks and street are newly even paved without any chuckholes or trip hazards. It looks nice but sadly IMO the sleaziness look is gone!Jeez DG,

Most of the charters from the main wharf / jetty seem to be fast boats getting Korean divers in and out of there. Not exactly Bancas.

Off topic too, but I've spoken to many business owners in Sabang over time, and they all comment on the fact that the sewage plant is smack-bang in the middle of the new Sabang seafront beside the jetty and the basketball court.

(You can't smell anything, and if I wasn't told, I probably wouldn't have known the building's purpose).

Like anywhere in the Phils, the local authorities make some strange decisions.

Despite everything, I still have a soft spot for Sabang.

I would say that its not even worth if its your first time wasting your time on in its current iteration and absolutely no reason to have a trike on call for a round trip back to the hotel. I can't even count how many times I went to perimeter and I don't have the highest of standards when it comes to pussy but just a wasteland of homely looking women. Even the girls I used to go there for are not there any more you used to be able to find a few diamonds in the rough there. Also Trikes cannot enter Clark so if you wanted to pivot to a restaurant inside Clark you would have to find after masterfully prearranging your all night transportation produce extra transportation to travel inside Clark anyways..The Philippines seems to be over-mongered. Firstly, the rates of AC bar fines mentioned in many other reports in recent past was something like 4/5/6 k LT for different category.

So. 2.5 k at Candy bar is ST?

Anybody know if this bar is back open. I'd heard it closed because of some type of dispute. This was my favorite bar as it had a few ladyboys I could sit and talk to in. I prefer that style than the hanging at Phillies also they were there early usely you have to wait until late for LBs to show up on the street.
