Greetings everyone,

I've started this new thread to provide a centralized location to catalog the Forum's best travel reports. Here's the idea:

If you have written one or several detailed travel reports, or if you know of such reports, then please post the link here.

You may also include a short summary of the nature of the report.

A sample report would be something like this:

You can copy and paste the link into a report, or you can do it the easy way and use the tags, which you would format like this:

You can identify the Post ID by moving your mouse pointer over the "Quote" button and reading the Post ID number in the Status Bar at the bottom of your browser window. It's the last number at the end of the link text, just after the letters "p=".

Please note: In order for this thread to be effective, it cannot turn into a discussion forum. I don't want to have to be so tough about this, but any reports that do not include a link to another report will be deleted.

This thread is such a great idea for so many reasons. It concentrates the best information, gives credit where credit is so rightfully due, teaches members how to do great report writing and raises the bar for everybody.

I would like to shine a spotlight on a 10-part series by Ramsey1 covering Macau, Zhuhai, Huimei, Houjie and Chang Ping in South China. These reports do it all: they're great reads, including pricing, good directions, service ratings, photos and include a wide variety of monger options from KTV to BBS.

I had never heard of most of these places before, but based on these reports, I am definately making a trip there, especially Chang Ping. Some of the best reports in China this year. Thanks Ramsey1!

Anyone of us can write similar reports but without the names, addresses and directions, it's useless to the readers.

Two ways of doing this, either right click on the post number and then copy link location, to paste into your own post, or click on the post number and then copy the location from the browser bar.

Greatwrite up on the ktv's of shanghai. It is pretty much the same in shenzhen. i would also add that usually if a friend or associate knows either the mommy or boss of the establishment then usually you most likely will not get ripped off, unless your friend that gave you the name of the place know's 'shit' or really not your friend.

i love going to ktvs cause it is more private and cosier. I usually go to one in sha tsui because one of my buddy is a good friend of the owner. i usually get extras thrown in and have a great time and do not have to worry about checking the bill at the end of the night.

my advice, never walk into one unless you have a referral to it from a friend.

IMHO:

To put a report up as the report of distriction, the report have to have the following or at least 80% of the following:

1) Informative = Must be factual and not BS or some words to represent a show off paragraph.

2) Verified true by some other members of the board.

3) Detail information like, address of mongering places, warnings or information links from published newpapers/website.

4) Enable the reader to be able to immediately take action as to find the place or get the same girl or price of the service posted in the report.

5) Is not in conflict with any ISG rules.

6) Poster of the report must be able to swear by it that whatever he posted is he full understanding or experience he had been though.

The problems is there are too many reports on the ISG that are conflicting each other and thus confusing new or even senior members of the board.

All your comments made me curious, so I read that report.

I agree with you it is not distinctive at all, as it doesn't talk about an uncommon experience (massage with fire/ice is not in China) and basic information necessary to repeat same experience are missing.



I wouldn't even say it's well written. It's a report, sure, but not a report of distinction, which have been provided by hard working researchers out to ASSIST others, not just a tale of sex that's poorly written....

There are thousands of better tales on the forum than that...

Newbie Good and Bad Experience in Beijing Summer 2006

Here is my report posted upon request from the editor.

It basically goes over a good and bad experience with a sauna/massage in Novotel Xinqiao hotel (good) and Jin Bao massage parlor/FS/two girls (bad). The bad has to do with being ripped off on a relatively large scale for Beijing. Lesson: read and do research on sites like this before going out.

Yeah..."her" reports are somewhat interesting, but at the same time, imagining a Chinese prostitute
able to write in that style and in that volume strike me as pretty dubious...just a bit fishy.

But, well, if the info seems to be adding to people's knowledge, understanding, and general

It seems this particular type of shakedown is fairly widespread. I suggest that you always insist on taking the girl to your own hotel room and that you pay AFTER services are provided. (In some cases a small partial payment in advance may be appropriate to show good faith, but be sure the services are fully negotiated in advance.)

Just came back from guiling not too long ago. Went to the normal tour guide and stuff. He warned all of us not to go with touts and if anyone did want any sexual services its best to tell him in private and he'll find a place for you.

But of course I didn't. Reason being, lets just say that it was inconvenient.

But there was 'massage' or 'sauna' in the hotel that i stayed in. And I don't know how much it originally costs, but a local guy that I was with actually bargained down the price to 200! And it was for 90 minutes up in our room. Ended up paying 200 for the hotel and he gave an extra 100 tip to the girl personally.

Again: Never go with touts. It doesnt matter if it's Guilin or Beijing. Touts are bad.

Regarding South China, where you would best spend your time depends on what you want most out of your time. If you only pick one location, I would suggest ShenZhen because there are a lot more young and pretty girls 24 hours a day, and more to enjoy in SZ than any other city in China.

Are owned by the same guy. They are on the same North South mainstreet connecting Houjie and Dongguan. The Shreaton is on the North side, barely in Dongguan; the Shanhu is south in Houjie. The English name is Pink Corals; Chinese name is Shanhu.

On this street at night there are many mamasans on the street trying to snare johns. I did not go with them due to security concerns. Also I had a xiaoje from Sheraron Dongguan KTV who went everywhere with me. She was my tour guide for the area.
